I stayed at this Courtyard during a weekend when it was hosting at least six or seven weddings, and the staff was not prepared for it. Early check-in was taken completely off the table — fine, I understand that, but the staff was very curt when we inquired both in advance and on the day of. Dozens of us had to change for a wedding event before we had access to our rooms, and the hotel was no help at all. The coffee shop had extremely limited hours and the service was quite slow. Additionally, I found it disappointing that the hotel, which is five minutes from a Metro-North station, offers no shuttle service to and from the station. Other than these disappointing interactions, the hotel is attractive and has very comfortable bedding.
Stay was great - room wise. Clean and up to date room. I requested an extra blanket and shower supplies. Both were there when i checked in. Only dislike was the service at front desk. They don’t answer the phone, didn’t tell me how much my room was just charged my card. Didn’t receive a receipt either. Also my room rate was way higher than the normal rates. The hotel raised the prices due to a wedding that weekend. Taking advantage of the people.
This hotel offers a nice, safe, and clean room. They go out of their way to make your stay exceptional. We were in the area for a wedding. We were able to check in early after a long ride in the car without any delay. Great service. Even after the Starbucks closes, the front desk staff doesnt hesitate to make a cup of coffee. They go out of their way to take care of your needs. I left something in the room and called the hotel to ask them to find it. The assistant manager kept in touch with me the entire weekend to help arrange for mailing my item back to me. Thankyou for a terrific stay.
Awful noise pollution until 1 am from a bonfire wedding after party. Loud music, alcohol, woke everyone in the family up. Called front desk, but these people booked the space outside our room until 1 am. Thin walls. Sleep wise horrible. Service from front desk was superb though.
We enjoyed our one night stay here and found particularly convenient restaurants including a very good diner within walking distance of the hotel. Also easy on off the highway. Unfortunately water pressure in the room left much to be desired, however room was otherwise clean and comfortable
EXTREMELY disappointed. We are using this hotel for our wedding room block and at first everything was great, guests were booking no problem, I was receiving responses almost right away when I would email. Now my guests are being hung up on when they call to book their rooms, I have asked for an updated rooming list about 5 times and still have not received one, my block was full and no one told me. Not sure what happened, but with all the other wedding stress I definitely did not need this to add to it. If you are considering doing a wedding block here, think again.
We planned a 1 night stay. Upon arrival at 5:30pm, our room was not available. We were given no explanation or estimate and had to request to be called when the room wld be ready. The room became avail at 7:10. The bed was dirty with what appeared to be dog fur and dirt. We paid for the breakfast package only to find out there were only 2 options to choose from. The outdoor fire pit was broken (had brought smores for our 5yr old and was one of the reasons for choosing this hotel) Check out was at 12 but at 11:40 key cards no longer worked and had to wait in line at the front desk to reset and get the rest of our belongings. This was not the experience we expected from Marriott hotel brand. We did not get a chance to address many of these problems with the staff since there were so many unhappy customers at the desk. We just tried to be polite since some guests were not doing so. We tried to be understanding since we know many places are understaffed currently. Perhaps this was part of the problem?!? We do plan to return to the area but at this time would not return to this hotel.
My family and I stayed at the Courtyard Middletown Goshen for one night as we were invited to the Legoland New York sneak peak. Conveniently located near the park, it was a short 5 minute drive. Checking in was easy; they offer contact free virtual check in service via your smartphone. The room satisfied our needs and was very clean. The hotel is located near several restaurants within walking distance. Overall, it was a great. The Courtyard offers an option for families that want to enjoy the new park and not stay at their hotel (which is still under construction).
The hotel itself was fine, and the room was clean and nice enough. But apparently there is no one working there which I blame on Marriott. we had booked a King room, prepaid though Chase Travel, for a Thursday evening, not even a weekend. Check in time is 3 PM. We arrived at 6pm after hitting hours of traffic to get there, and somehow our room WAS NOT READY! At 6pm! Three hours after check in time! We waited patiently for 20 minutes while the front desk clerk did nothing, checked in with no one, and we just stood there. I then asked him to inquire about the room status, because it was ridiculous that we had to wait so long after check in was at 3. He had to leave the desk to find the manager who was inspecting the rooms. This all made zero sense, and why he couldn’t call or walkie talkie her also made no sense, and lack of staff is not an excuse for a poor customer service experience. At 6:40 I asked again, and then the manager said it would be another 15+ minutes to get into our room. What had they been doing the last 40 minutes? At that point I asked if ANY rooms were ready, and apparently there were Queen/Queen rooms ready to go, but they were delayed on cleaning the King rooms. Seriously? There were rooms ready and we were kept waiting almost an hour because the King bed wasn’t ready?? When I checked in I stated we were already late for the wedding we were attending (started at 6) due to traffic, and Marriott ruined the whole experience. I expected to be in and out of the room in 15 minutes, and instead we didn’t leave until 7pm, missing a full hour of the wedding, all because of Marriott, lack of staff, and apparent incompetence in simply OFFERING US A READY ROOM. Unbelievable that the staff are so poorly trained in customer service. I will always remember this incident since I missed a chunk of my friend’s wedding, and will avoid Courtyard by Marriott hotels in the future.
The check-in and check-out was easy. The lobby and rooms and other facilities are all clean and comfortable. The staff and service is friendly. The food at the counter in the lobby is good, but they dont have a lot to choose from on the menu. Overall its a good stay if you need to be in the area.
The experience leading up to the weekend was excellent. Jasmine was a big help and very friendly and responsive. Upon arrival was a different story. Our bridal suite smelled like cigarettes, and when they sent someone to help they promised housekeeping would bring a machine (I was guessing a purifier) to help with the smell. All they did was send someone to spray the carpet with odor remover, and it didnt clear the smell. Our suite was also on the first floor, so when other guests were partying til 2am the night before our reception, I could hear every word. In addition, the front desk forgot to hand out our welcome bags to the first several guests that arrived, until I made a fuss. They also didnt acknowledge the mistake and tried to play it off. What made this even more frustrating is the gentleman at the front desk was the same one I had handed off the bags to a few days earlier. Our wedding block was scattered throughout the entire hotel, and we were not made aware that this would be the case. Not fun being the bride and having to go 3 floors up and a wing over to your mothers room to get dressed. Lastly, we had about 50 people staying over, and they staffed 1 person at our after party. Thankfully I was too tired to join and missed this debacle entirely. The hotel was nice enough and I would probably recommend it for someone passing through the area on business or pleasure, but would not trust their on site staff with an important event such as a wedding or reunion.
Wow, this place is old and dirty, can’t believe it has 4.3 stars?? Telephone is actually broken, walls are dirty with black scratches, floor is really dusty and has large pieces of debris, obv not vacuumed, blanket smells like cigarette. Staff is nice. Worst Marriott experience.
Bathroom sink drained extremely slow. This should have been addressed before room is occupied. Since it is cleaned between guest stays the cleaning staff should have made the maintenance staff aware. The shower was designed for the physically challenged. There was no ledge separating the shower from there rest of the floor so water would run all over the bathroom floor. We had to put towels on the ground to contain the water in the shower. I suggest a low curb. The bar and food area was not staffed most of our stay. I expected more from Marriott.
Stayed at this property this week as I have done a couple times in the past pre- Covid. Front staff is always wonderful, they do a fantastic job.The Bistro evening staff is always great, the morning staff always misses the mark.. My orders have always been wrong, the staff is a bit rude when you point it out (I still tip 20% which I shouldnt but I do).Rooms need a refresh, they feel very run down. I most likely will be look at other Marriot properties when I stay in the area for business
Room clean upon arrival, but very small. Pull out sofa is a twin and does not accommodate two children. No cleaning services or clean towels provided during entire 3 day stay. Had to ask front desk and did not get the quantity requested to support a family of 4. Web site reflects free breakfast, hotel stated all rooms are a la cart! Bring proof of free breakfast! Staff friendly and somewhat helpful. Would rate on the level with a Motel 6!
The room we stayed in had a moldy smell. I was really disgusted because the woman at the front desk told me they were out of wash rags and didnt know when they would have more. I had to go to target and buy wash rags for my family. There was never any housekeeping going around the rooms. The only good thing was my kids liked the pool and it was close to our destination which was LEGOLAND.
Excellent stay here while on our way out of NY. Staff was wonderful and accommodating. The room was spacious and comfortable. Only thing I wish was that there was more signage available near the turn for Crystal Run Crossing. I lived in the area for over 20 years and still missed it, haha.
The hotel was not up to clean standards during a pandemic. The rooms are not very clean. The staff that greeted us upon arrival was not very welcoming. Staff was really dressed casually so you could not even identify if they were guests or working. The outdoor patio was poorly maintained. The indoor pool was awful!! Overall the stay was not what we expected for our families.
The bartender/waitress/dishwasher was excellent and courteous and worked so hard the night we all showed up to grab a bite to eat after spending several hours @ the wake of a dear friend. I wish I could remember her name but she certainly deserves a raise for that evening alone! It was the evening shift on Monday 09/20/21. The person who checked us in was so pleasant to work with as well!
Recovering from the pandemic for everyone has been tough. The staff are very nice and helpful even though they are stretched thin. My room was clean and very nice. I did see a little bit of water damage on the ceiling but that was the only thing I noticed. I would definitely stay here again.
I stayed at the courtyard Marriott for a total of two nights. It is a decent hotel with a beautiful view and pool. The downside of my stay was that when I checked in I was accidentally booked into a room under someone else’s name by the clerk which lead to complications with my stay the next night. They had me booked in a completely different room for 1 night even though I paid for two. The hotel did correct this issue but it caused quite a bit of anxiety for me while waiting for the issue to be resolved and took away from my ability to enjoy several hours of my stay.
Went snowboarding at Mt Peters for valentines day and decided to stay at this hotel based on reviews. Overall a very pleasant experience. Allowed me to bring in my service animal without any problems (make sure to bring your paperwork), The pool and gym were open which was amazing (sometimes could be crowded so have to check to see when its available), and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Only issue I had was small, the room door let a good amount of light into the room at night but thats easily fixed by putting something like a towel in front of it. If you need to stay in the area I would definitely recommend this hotel
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Pool area was clean and they scheduled time for usage. Kids loved it. There was a Starbucks counter which was great- they served quick bites and coffee.Gym was small but had a working treadmill, bike and elliptical. There should be more antibacterial wipes available though. Room was OK- felt warn and bathroom was a let huge down. Poor water pressure and shower needs a revamp. But- you do get what you pay for- so overall it was a good experience.
Our stay was cozy and convenient. The bed was extremely comfortable and the air conditioner worked great. Unfortunately the shower foot ledge was hanging off the wall and the sleeping area wall was covered in one concentrated area with what looked like suitcase wheel marks.
Definitely disappointed with my stay. Arrived and was given my room key. When I entered my room and attempted to turn on the light in my bathroom the light wouldn’t stay on. Had to hold the light switch in the on position while attempting to use the bathroom. I decided to call the front desk and ask if they could switch my room due to the lighting issue. When I picked up the phone I was disgusted by the amount of dust/dirt on the phone and phone cradle. I went to the front desk and retrieved my 2nd set of room keys. When I entered the room it wreaked of cigarettes. The carpet was very dirty and the walls in my room had dirt build up. Definitely will not be staying here ever again.
As a Marriott member I always try to select Marriott when traveling and have been to this hotel on many, many occasions for work. I know its been a challenging year, and being that its my first time traveling in a year, I expected changes. I also work in the tourism industry and manage PR for several hotels and understand the importance of how a guest is welcomed and I did not feel welcome by the woman who checked me in who was also the same woman who was snacking in the back room when I asked her for some coffee and she seemed annoyed that I bothered her. When you stay at a hotel for a week and there is no room service, it would at least be nice to be offered replacement amenities in a friendly manner. The door in my room was broken and had a slash down the middle and the liner that seals out noise was ripped off and left on the room floor. Its just not the same Marriott and I hope it improves. With challenging times, we at least expect the positive welcome. The women at the Bistro, I will say, were very courteous and friendly and the coffee and breakfasts that I ordered were great. Kudos to them.
There aren’t a lot of places to stay around Goshen. Never stayed in a courtyard but figured it was by Marriott so should be ok. I don’t understand but seems Marriott has really been lacking standards recently. Second Marriott I stayed in over the last two months I’m not impressed at all. The rooms are average at best. Pool doesn’t look cleaned or maintained at all. No restaurant and the one they had offers little to nothing for kids. Person at the breakfast counter was pretty unfriendly and had no interest in selling anything. I ordered from diner across the street instead. This is pretty poor experience , Marriott either is really going down hill or just stopped caring during the pandemic. Piss poor job ... Marriott do better.
I secured my room in advance and was told upon my arrival that my rooms including mine were not ready, and that they did not know when they would be. I informed the front desk that I needed the room in order to change for a wedding, and that I was going to be late. I was told there was nothing that they could do, and wasnt given any other alternatives or help. I had to move all of my stuff into my friends room and ended up finally getting a room after the wedding. At that point having to transfer all my things from my friends room at night while everyone was enjoying the post wedding celebration. Others in the wedding celebration informed me that they were going through the same experience. In the morning some received comps and some including myself didnt. I was so annoyed that I just left. TERRIBLE and DISORGANIZED! Avoid if you can.
I have been here multiple times before with no issues. Loved it. However this time I reserved the room a week in advance and paid. Upon checking in I was told that the cleaning service wasn’t going to clean the room reserved to me. They offered a third floor room. Not near the elevator. I declined as I’m on crutches. They took my number and asked for a half hour to get the room cleaned as I needed a first floor room. That’s why I reserved it specifically. I came back 3 hours later as they did not call me only to find out their policies changed and it became an issue. I asked to cancel my room that night (which they did) and set it for the next night so I had access to the hot tub which why I reserved a room in the first place. To relax. The staff on duty was horrible!!! Idk if she was overworked or what but she was rude and acted like any question I had was a problem. I even apologized instead of getting upset. I will no longer do that or stay here ever again. I’m sorry I even bothered.
We stayed to get away from home life and were pleased. This hotel has all amenities pool, hot tub, in room whirlpool, lobby has snack shop ,not vending machine, a bar, bistro and seating w tables and tvs. Also Close to restaurants. The only thing Id say negative is for staying four nights we needed to request our room refreshed but that is minor as they came and cleaned it.
I was attending a wedding in the area and reserved a room months in advance, only to arrive and be told that there were no rooms available because Housekeeping was short staffed and behind schedule. I and other guests in the same situation were told we could use a public restroom to get dressed for our events. Overcrowding a restroom with women trying to get dressed, during a pandemic, is totally UNACCEPTABLE! There was an after-wedding get together planned for our group in the bar/lounge area, which was supposed to include food (which was paid for in advance by the bride and groom) but there was no food to be found. Staff seemed to know nothing about food! I would not recommend this hotel for use as a wedding guest accommodation!
Check in was a nightmare due to a desk clerk who was indifferent to our groups needs. The wedding we were there for had to be delayed due to a late arrival of the second transport bus which waited for everyone to check in and get changed. Our room had a stale odor and our toilet had hair on the seat.
My room was not ready until 8:30pm despite the 3pm check in time. We were traveling from 2 hours away for a wedding and had to get ready in the hotel bathroom with 5 other women. Nothing was offered as compensation, we were just out of luck. My room also did not have room darkening shades and the TV would not turn on.
This hotel has the best staff, they are super friendly, go out of their way to assist the guests. The food is excellent, rooms very clean and comfortable. The beds are super soft and I just sink and dont move until the alarm goes off. These rooms are the darkest of any hotel I have stayed in. When I pull the black out curtains it is total darkness even if middle of afternoon with afternoon sun shining right against the windows. Very important when working nights and need to sleep in the daytime. I highly recommend staying here, it is great location, wonderful fitness center, laundry facilities and lovely backyard garden with tables and gazebo.
Understaffed, don’t expect 24 hour Starbucks and don’t expect to get food at posted hours bc no one available. Bring your own extra blankets and towels or expect to wait days for them. Time to find a new hotel chain if this is what Marriott and paying extra to stay at one is going to my be like.
Heather and the staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. We have our wedding room block at this hotel next June, but had yet to check out the property, so decided to drive up for night to check it out. We were greeted with a cute welcome bag, and upgraded to the suite, which was much more than we ever expected. The lobby was decorated and festive for the holidays, and the staff was attentive. The suite was clean, comfortable and spacious. It was a lovely trip. Thank you to all at the High Hotels Courtyard by Marriott for an outstanding stay. We cant wait to host our wedding weekend at your hotel.
Bought a package with breakfast and sent hubby and toddler down for breakfast. The front desk clearly has no idea and rudely told them that Gold Elite status is NOT enough and sent them away after checking. What a horrible experience. They felt very embarrassed like they were trying to score free breakfast when I already purchased it! Then I saw the breakfast charges showed up on my card. Really?! Unprofessional and unacceptable. Wondering why do I bother with paying and keeping gold elite status. Apparently its NOT good enough anyway!
My fiancé and I got a room for the night. It was very clean & we loved how well the blackout curtains worked.. only thing the was not up to par was the jacuzzi. Half of it was broken & didn’t have water coming out of the Jets. My S/O and i had to take turns switching sides so we could relax. Was annoying and not worth getting an upgraded room. Also I asked for an extra blanket and the man said I had one in the wardrobe and there was no extra blanket in said wardrobe.
Stayed in Middletown with kids for a weekend to get out of the metaphoric abyss that is Sullivan co. Ny. Nice hotel decent pool. Close to the galleria mall and the 17-I84 interchange close to the hospital too if you need some medical care or if youre visiting someone in the hospital. Rooms were updated and the price was far. Theres a bar which me and my wife did not frequent while staying there I even they think they have babysitters if Im not mistaken and the staff were very attentive and hospitable.
This is the best hotel I have stayed in, the staff are super friendly and caring. They go out of their way to be helpful and the rooms are very comfortable. Blackout curtains make room pitch black even in midday. Beds and bedding so cozy I fall asleep and don’t move until the alarm goes off. You will not regret staying here. Convenient to everything as well. Laundry and fitness center on premises makes life very easy here.
My family and I wanted a lil getaway, the hotel was clean, but don’t expect to receive anything extra. I’m still waiting for a phone call (2days later). And the food at the Bistro was good, but you pay for everything, they don’t offer complimentary tea or coffee in the hotel.
I enjoyed my stay at this location. The staff was friendly and responded to the Marriott Chat in a timely manner. The location was well maintained and the common areas were clean. My only issue was the amount of dust in the room and that the shower curtain had brown spots on them. However, the staff corrected those as soon as they were brought to their attention. I would stay at this location again!
Third time writing this but there was a huge failure in communication and failure to honor my reservation when I had a confirmation for two nights and they only gave me one. I was able to get another room under the wedding block promo yet they charged me extra for that second night.
When I arrived with my daughter the staff was extremely accommodating immediately with my request for extra towels being sent to the room. The room was clean and well-appointed, the internet work wonderfully in the room and out. We were there mostly for the pool the pool was heated nicely the room was a comfortable temperature.
We love staying here for our camp visiting day weekends. The newly renovated hotel looks terrific, and we really appreciated the upgrades to rooms. I am very happy to see that bathtubs are gone and there are big walk-in showers now. Much nicer and safer! The breakfast service is excellent and they have made it a more lively environment with bar service. Overall we were pleasantly surprised to find the hotel so nicely renovated and improved!
I cant say enough great things about this hotel! The staff was more than accommodating. They were kind, caring people, who, helped us during a very difficult time. The rooms were spacious with modern decor and fixtures. The beds were comfortable and cozy. The living area and bathroom was immaculate upon our arrival, and meticulously cleaned daily for us. So nice to come back to a clean, fresh room after a busy day.The Starbucks in the lobby not only had the coffee/tea we needed, but also served full breakfast and dinner. The servers were polite and helpful. We utilized the bar, pool and hot tub, which was a nice way to unwind after our hectic days.I would definitely stay at this hotel again.Thank you Marriott!!!
The rooms are quite nice - specifically the beds and showers are some of the best Ive seen in a Marriott hotel. The design of the place is modern and sleek, and even though it was going under renovations while I was there, it was very cleanly. The pool and hot tub were nice but I wouldve liked them a bit hotter. The staff said they couldnt do much about it, but other than that, they were friendly and attentive even at late hours.
Upon arrival, I came to check in the day prior to my wedding. I made a contract with this hotel months before my big day. I was told the night of check in from the staff at the front that I see you have a suite booked but there is no suite available with an attitude... then proceeded to offer me a spa king room instead... after about 20 minutes of waiting for them to sort out why my room was not showing as available, they gave me my room key. Neither employee said they were sorry for the inconvenience. Also prior to coming here, the staff were extremely nasty to me when I came in asking a few questions. I am not the kind of person to complain ever. Nor do I ever leave reviews. But on my one special night.... my wedding night, I really expected more from this hotel especially with spending half a grand and giving them a bunch of business with out of town guests. I am highly disappointed with how I was treated while I was here. Although the hotel rooms are nice, I will never consider staying here again.
The hotel is clean and modern. Beds are very comfortable and luxurious. The pool is nice but small. Hot tub is ok. Staff are friendly and attentive. Only complaint is that we booked a king/sofa bed room for 4 people. Arrived to find the sofa bed was actually a twin size so we had to request a cot for our other child. The hotel staff should have informed us if this when we made the reservation on the phone for 4 people and/or when we checked in with 4 people. Its not even listed online. The pictures online are inaccurate showing a larger room with full size sleeper sofa. The room itself is small and with a cot its very tight. At least the grown ups got a king bed.
Do not recommend!! I booked a room block for my wedding at this hotel and it was a terrible experience from arrival and beyond . Not only were the people in the sales department extremely difficult to keep in communication with, but the staff was generally rude. I had a number of my guests complain to me regarding this issue, which was embarrassing. Hotel staff repeatedly called my family and I (during my wedding ceremony!) to address an issue with one of our guests who had a dog. I would recommend if a business is not ready to deal with dogs barking due to people traffic (as the room was located near an entrance/exit door) do not advertise as pet friendly. Beyond this, our sales rep had told us we would receive a night complementary for our stay (as we were the bride and groom). Not only did this take over two months of me repeatedly reaching out and getting ignored in response - but they reimbursed me less than half the price I paid/was charged for the supposed complementary night. I would highly recommend looking for another hotel if needed for an event/room block.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard Middletown. Very clean and updated. Lots of good food options - stuff I actually wanted to eat for breakfast! And having Starbucks in the lobby is just amazing. Beds were so comfortable. The room cleaning staff left a gift for our kids and it made their day! All the staff was very friendly and helpful
The Courtyard Marriott did a great job hosting our wedding guests this past weekend. We really appreciated their welcome sign to our guests with our shuttle information, as well as the little goodie bag with snacks for the bride and groom! The after party space was roomy, comfortable, and stylish, with a great bar, and outdoor area with a fancy fire pit! The breakfast cafe offered very tasty options (I had a breakfast bowl with eggs, potatoes, broccolini, sundried tomatoes, parmesan, and pesto - yum!) When checking out, we asked the concierge if we could have two bottles of water for the ride home (we were so dehydrated), and the staff was happy to oblige! Thank you for the excellent service!
We stayed here for two nights to attend a family wedding. A block of rooms had been set aside by the wedding organizers and our reservations had been made many months in advance. It was our first trip to this area.We arrived almost three hours before the standard check in time, but were immediately checked in and provided our room. The desk staff was friendly and efficient. We were very impressed with the size, amenities, furnishings, and cleanliness of the room. There were a total of three wedding parties checking in that day, with a fourth arriving the next day. The hotel was busy but the staff handled it beautifully for the duration of our stay. There are three restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel, with many more choices a short drive away. We only needed a light late lunch on our arrival and were happy with one of the walkable choices. We also had a light breakfast at the hotel bistro our first morning. Very tasty. All of our other meals were provided as part of the wedding celebration so we cant comment on the dinner offerings. The only criticism I can make is that on check out none of their luggage carts were available and we had to make three trips from the room to load the car. A minor inconvenience under the circumstances, but something to consider depending on your personal situation.
Weve stayed twice in the past 6 months, since its halfway on our road trip. The pool is warm and never crowded, a huge win for our 5-year-old! The rooms are spacious, allowing our family to spread out a little. It was especially convenient when we had a Pack n Play for our youngest. The staff at breakfast are wonderful, friendly and attentive. Overall, its a great stay!
The lobby and the bar were very nice. I had a dress sent from Rent the Runway that they accepted for me and had waiting for me when I checked in. And the bartender was really awesome. However, the rooms werent great. They were clean (upon arrival) and spacious. However, the mattresses were pretty terrible. They were beyond soft and offered no support. Im in shape and have no back or joint problems and I woke up with a stiff back and hip pain. Also, when our room was cleaned the housekeeper only cleaned the spaces that were free of our items. Rather than move a few things off the bed so we could get new sheets on both beds, she only changed the sheets on the bed that was clear. I actually still cant believe that in our two queen bed room, only one of the beds had its sheets changed. Seriously. I would also recommend bringing up tea and coffee supplies from the Starbucks in the lobby because the selection in the room was meager at best. The only really great thing about it was that it was close to the highways nearby and it is within walking distance of a few chain restaurants.
From the beginning of my experience with the Courtyard by Marriott when I went to one of their open houses, I was genuinely impressed. However, after booking my room block for our wedding I was extremely disappointed. There was no where in our contract that they would stop opening up rooms once our block was full. They told us as long as you have guests booking rooms we will open more for you. Apparently there was family weekend at West Point the same weekend of my wedding and I was told by the sales department that my wedding did not take precedence over this even though we were continually having guests from our wedding book rooms there. They cut the room block rate and our guests were paying an ASTRONOMICAL amount for rooms for ONE night. It was disappointing and irritating to say the least. When attempting to discuss this with the sales department we were told that we should have known that there were other events going on in the area even though we were from out of state. Something that should have been so simple turned into the most stressful aspect of our wedding planning. If you have the choice to book at another hotel for a wedding room block please do so to keep some of your sanity. The only reason why this hotel received 2 stars is for the bartender that stayed up with us for the late night bar who was really phenomenal and for the fact that the rooms were clean.
Some friends and I came upstate to get away from the city and pick apples, and this hotel was perfect! Clean room, clean bathroom, plush and comfortable bed, and a gorgeous view of some autumn leaves from the room. We had breakfast in the cafe downstairs and it was tasty! The hotels location is great too, as it affords easy access to multiple apple orchards and other local attractions.
Short and sweet. I must say my night at the Marriott hotel was wonderful. The dinning options upon entering was a delight to see. The staff, the environment, the room not to mention the bed and set up totally a warm welcome. Was my best sleep ever in months. and hearing it from the kids on how great the bed felt. I strongly recommend this hotel for family with kids. I would have to say the hotel is kids friendly. :-)
I didnt expect much from this hotel, as its in Middletown, which is not a very affluent area. But this hotel was so nice! The rooms were well designed, well laid out, soundproof & comfortable, from the large king bed to the couch, which provided very comfortable seating. The bathroom had all the amenities you would want & was new & clean. There were several restaurants walking distance from the hotel, in addition to having food available at the hotel. The staff could not have been nicer. Staying here was a very pleasant experience, which was a nice surprise, and I would definitely recommend it.
We liked staying here. We had a random family trip to get out of the house during the snow storm. We brought our dog too. I WISH they had a continental breakfast, or at least breakfast food for everyones enjoyment. The bistro had food, but it wasnt for everyone. I personally liked it, but my husband and children did not. Overall it was a good stay and we would stay again.
Hotel lobby and room were both beautifully decorated and clean. Staff was wonderful. However there was a large space under the bottom of the door that let a lot of light in from the hallway, and there was a smoke detector directly above the head of the bed that flashed a very bright light every few seconds. Both of these light disturbances made it quite hard to get a good nights sleep.
I enjoyed the stay at the Marriott. My only issue was checking in which was Expedia’s fault. They were suppose to book a Jacuzzi suite for both nights however once getting to the hotel I was advised that the jacuzzi room was not available when checking in but they made accommodations for me to have one the 2nd night.
I did not like the policy about cleaning the room. I understood. This should have been told to me at check in time. I spoke to someone she .said she was the manager she said therewas a message in your room she was correct. I think the information could have been given better. So disappointed.
This hotel is attractive, has pleasant staff, and tasty food and wine options in the evening that keep you from having to go out in the cold/rain/fog. No need for room service, you can enjoy eating in the lobby. For us nearsighted people, its great to have a little mirror in the bathroom to make it easier to deal with contact lenses, etc.
Friendly staff that tended our needs. Rooms were comfy and had high ceilings, so it did not feel cramped whatsoever. The hallways are a bit dark so it can feel kind of ominous throughout the hotel, but its overall welcoming. The Bistro has pretty decent food, but its a bit pricey. Overall it was a good experience with some minor things about it that made the visit slightly less than perfect.
I travel this way once or twice a year and this hotels location is a convenient stopping point. This hotel is in a cluster of three other hotels all within walking distance of each other. For many years I stayed at the hotel across the street from this one thinking it to be the cheaper one. A bad experience lead me to check out the rates at the Marriott and I found it to be just a little more than I was paying. The rooms are clean and spacious. The grounds are well kept. The staff is friendly. Overall it was a pleasant experience.
Convenient to both I 84 and NY17, this Courtyard is modern and clean as are the rooms We had excellent service at the reception desk. There are plenty of restaurants either within walking distance or a 5-10 minute drive. Our stay was just overnight so we didn’t use other facilities but they do have an eating place plus snacks and beverages to buy near the reception. A perfect place for a night or as long as you need.
We stayed here overnight because our son had a baseball tournament nearby at The Rock. This was the perfect place to stay for the team. The lobby was extremely spacious and a great place to hang out and relax. There is a bar and food service right there and the hotel staff was very accommodating. The rooms are spacious and clean as well and the beds are very comfortable. I
We blocked a group of hotels for our wedding in July 2014; we had less rooms booked than we anticipated, but Kerry and the staff still treated us like VIPs. They made everything so EASY for our guests and for us. It was truly a treat to stay there. The rooms were clean, well appointed and comfortable. I cannot say enough positive things about this staff; having good people to help you can really make your experience over-the-top amazing.
Short business trip for a Customer network problem. This hotel was conveniently located, quiet (even next to a highway), and overall in good working order. While I did not take advantage of the Bistro (not really a fan of the Bistro - prices for the food options are pricey), the rest of the hotel was presentable, clean, and the staff works hard to keep it that way. Will stay here again if in the area.
We checked in late at night after driving for hours. The two ladies at the front desk were welcoming and smiling when we approached. The lobby was modern and clean. They efficiently checked us into a clean and spacious room. When we needed an extra blanket, the clerk quickly delivered one to the room. Because I overslept, I missed the breakfast menu,so I settled for a Starbucks Coffee served there, which was very good.overall, the experience rates much better than average, as I cant think of anything other than the air conditioner that was hard to set, to complain about.
I had an Awesome weekend stay at the Courtyard by Marriott, Middletown. I certainly enjoyed using all the amenities, especially taking several dips in their indoor pool and relaxing in the hot tub. I also enjoyed indulging in delicious breakfasts and sumptuous dinner options at the restaurant in the lobby. I had a wonderful dining experience overall. I highly recommend to all travelers and localsGood Service ✅Very Friendly and Courteous Staff✅Good Food✅Food Presentation ✅Lovely Ambiance ✅Highly Recommend
Really impressed with the hotel. Very clean, up to date, fresh furnishings. Had a suite which was spacious and had sliding glass doors to a beautiful courtyard with flowering plants and a gazebo, great for sitting leisurely or taking pictures. Indoor pool looked clean and in great shape. Wish I would have stayed a little longer to enjoy more of what the hotel had to offer.
My boyfriend and I chose to stay at the courtyard in Middletown because it was a midpoint between things that we were looking to do for a weekend getaway. I knew there was construction going on at the hotel when I booked it, with that being said I knew there would be some more noise than normal. However, there could have been some warning that there would be some construction going on, in front of my room, early on a Sunday morning. Otherwise, the hotel was clean, and the staff was very polite and helpful. One thing that I did like was that there was a late check in available, we arrived around 10:30pm and Kim (from the front desk) had everything all ready for us when we checked in, and was very polite and helpful.
The staff at the Courtyard Marriott were exceptionally welcoming and professional. The hotel itself was gorgeous -- modern design and very, very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was a joy to stay in. Perfect if youre coming upstate for apple picking or something else in the area. It was easy to get to several different orchards/farms from this hotel.
Good hotel that offers attractive Mt Peter ski and Stay package. Hotel undergoing renovations but doesnt materially affect ones stay. I had one issue with what looked like mice droppings on the bed and dirty pull out bed mattress. Pool/spa is nice but pool water is too cold. Hotel should have a heated pool. Otherwise friendly and accomodating staff. I may return after renovations and if they still have the ski n stay package. Perhaps expand that to other mountains in the area.
Ive stayed in many Marriott properties as Ive traveled for business, and this is my absolute favorite. The rooms are spacious and modern. The location is central and right along a major highway, making arrival and departure very easy. Starbucks inside the hotel offers a quick, quality breakfast I can grab on the way to work. And there are 4 restaurants within walking distance of the hotel if you want more extensive menu options for dinner at the end of your day. They also have a fitness center and indoor pool, too. I have sometimes brought my family with me when I travel for business, and my family loves this property, too.
The staff at this Courtyard was friendly, kind, and accommodating. We arrived later than expected due to road construction, had used the mobile check-in feature in the app, and were pleased to arrive and have our room key ready for us. The room was clean, spacious for a family of 4, and our request of a feather free room was done in advance. The location is close to the interstate for continuing travel the next morning and there is a full service Starbucks within 2 miles of the hotel. My only suggestion for the hotel would be to upgrade the treadmills to include built in fans and an improved running decks (due to construction and the highway running outside is not ideal for this location). We would stay at this hotel again if traveling to the northeast.
Honest review - There was nothing really wrong with my stay. There were just things I would suggest doing differently to improve the customer experience such as, find out if it is the clients first time at the location and if so, provide a brief overview of where the main things are as well as food options and check out options. Since the Olympics were on, I was very happy with the channel selections as there were several channels with Olympic coverage, but plenty of other options for those not interested. Internet ran well, so I was able to continue working in my room.
Love this hotel great location my family lives in the area so I stay here often. Always clean staff is friendly. The pool is heated and have a nice hot tub. There is not a real restaurant in the hotel but in the parking lot is a tgi fridays and an outback steak house so not a big deal. Has a Starbucks for that morning cup of coffee. Overall great experience.
The hotel was good. Staff were nice, rooms were good-sized, decor was trendy and updated, location was good, lobby was nice. I would stay here again. The only issue I have with this hotel (and most other Marriott hotels since the SPG merger) is the total lack elite recognition or benefits (in my case lifetime Titanium Elite). With Marriott, they just “go through the motions” but with SPG, they truly made you feel special. For me, the big thing at this hotel was room placement. IMO, no top-level Elite should be on the 1st or 2nd floor unless they ask. We are in there with kids running around all night making noise. Just don’t do that Marriott. Put your elites on upper floors like SPG did. If there’s a suite available, put them in there without them having to beg. For people that go out of their way (miles and $$$ wise) to stay 50, 75, 100+ nights a year at your hotels, they do deserve a little recognition. Remember, loyalty goes both ways. For you MR legacy folks, I assume this is the status quo. For those that were top elite with SPG, it’s not. Before the take-over, my suite upgrade percentage was about 75%. That has dropped to about 5%. With SPG, I would walk into the room to find bucket of beers, a note with a little basket of fruit, crackers and cheese, etc. Those days are gone. As I am LT Titanium, MR gives me no incentive to hang around. To me, this treatment is not the hotel’s issue, it’s sonething that engrained in the MR System. In my opinion, it needs to be changed. Lastly... this hotel was good. Better than most Courtyards I’ve stayed at. All was good except for the room placement. My rant is not just geared at this hotel by MR in general.
We were here for the wedding of my niece.first of all reservation was easy and changes and requests were granted without any issues. Staff were so courteous and friendly. We were a big party but the service we got were outstanding. The place was so accessible to the wedding venue and shopping centers. The housekeeping staff were so considerate. Will definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends.
Our stay at the Marriot Courtyard in Middletown was fantastic! My family and I had a great time and enjoyed our room immensely. So much so that we wanted to stay another night. The hotel amenities were great as well. They were sufficient for a short getaway and for my family needs. The room had enough space for all 5 of us. I have 3 young children who enjoyed every second of their time at the pool. They even made new friends! I will absolutely plan to stay at the Marriot Courtyard again soon!
Hello, I´m 29 years old and have been blessed with the opportunity to travel a lot for different reasons. And this specific weekend should´ve been a memorable one. My brother´s wedding. But courtyard marriot, and the reception staff made sure, to make it a nightmare for me and my husband.I arrived on Wednesday, with my mother, my sister and my aunt. We all stayed in this beautiful room and Barbara the girl at the reception was lovely and helpful. The next day, we needed a taxi, and My Mother asked the Other Receptionist to call us a cab, and she said she didn´t call the taxis and she gave my mother the phone number in a post it. We tried to call from our room, but we couldn´t get a local line, so I went downstairs to the frontdesk. I was very nice and trying to be very cordial about it. and suggested that in future situations like this, to be more helpful, the conversation continued and I told her that My husband would be arriving on saturday. She was working on saturday when my husband arrived. I know for security reasons, you cant give the room number, but you CAN CERTAINLY BE MORE HELPFUL!!! IT TOOK THE HOTEL STAFF, 2hrs till they could contact me .I´M FURIOUS WITH THIS HOTEL.
I stay at the Courtyard 4-5 times per month and find everyone helpful, courteous, professional, and engaging. The hotel is clean, neat, very customer service oriented, and adequate for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is excellent and dinner is okay for a lite one, but the four local restaurants within walking distance will give you larger meals with a wider range of selection. Over all comfortable plus easy and quick check in and out. Id highly recommend.
Our stay at the Courtyard Marriott was very nice. The Lobby was decorated for Christmas and lovely with a beautiful fireplace. The personal were friendly and welcoming. The hotel was clean and the room had all of the amenities that you seek out in a hotel. Our only complaint was the bed was uncomfortable and we asked for foam pillows, because we are allergic to feathers and they were lumpy and uncomfortable.
We had the best stay. Since we were staying with family most of our time away from Alaska, this was the best vacation from our vacation. Bella at the front desk is an absolute gem! She made us feel like we were the most important guests in the hotel. She addressed us by name with the biggest smile every time we saw her. The entire staff was helpful and happy. We will be back! Thank you :)
The hotel is fine; big, clean rooms (although I think I stayed in a handicap accessible room inexplicably); the staff was friendly and helpful; the usual Marriot amenities like toiletries, iron, wifi, premium cable, etc.My only two regrets are that I did not get back in time to try the pool, and that there was no complimentary breakfast. I am not usually a fan of breakfast type food, so paying for a quality breakfast is less desirable for me than just grabbing something to go. If you do like breakfast however, the little Starbucks breakfast bar is nice, and the food is good. There are also other restaurants around to choose from.
This hotel was well maintained. The lobby, hallways, elevator and the room we stayed in were very clean. The room smelled fresh, the bedding is white so you can see that it is clean. The carpets were clean the bathroom was clean. The lounge area was a good size, there is a small pool and exercise room. There are a few restaurants in the same/adjoining parking lot. There is a small cafe with food onsite. The only thing this hotel is missing is an atm.
Very clean hotel. They were doing renovations at the time. At one point we had no water until 5:00pm. We understood and didn’t complain. But, we didn’t have hot water from 5:00pm-11:00pm that same day. So no shower, and no whirlpool bath. We couldn’t even leave the room because we were going back and forth with the front desk. The last night we were there we went to the pool room around 10:00pm. The pool had garbage floating in it, one of the pool lights was knocked out and lying on the pool floor, and there was garbage on the floor by the hot tub and by a nearby table. Also, the bed was extremely uncomfortable. I went to a local Walmart to purchase a foam topper to make it bearable.
Overall the stay was great. We took the kids and dog away for the weekend of the ice storm. We took advantage of the pool and the kids loved it. There were a few things that were a bit frustrating, the heat would blow out cold air occasionally which was annoying, then suddenly become super hot. No matter what we had the temp. set to, this problem still would occur. Also, we had a king sweet and it seemed to have a queen bed? We have a king at home and it was definitely smaller, and the tvs wouldnt connect our HDMI for some reason. But besides that, it was a pleasant stay, we LOVED that there was space for our dog to run outside in the fenced in court yard. The kids loved the hotel, they enjoyed walking around and sitting in the lounge area. The women at the front desk were also very sweet. We would stay again for sure.
We stayed at this courtyard the weekend of September 14th for 3 nights. The hotel and our room were very bright, welcoming and clean. I read in some reviews somewhere that there was no coffee maker in the room, forcing them to go to Starbucks. We had a coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator in our room. The closet had real hangers, not the ones you have to struggle to hang clothes on. (thank you for that!) Very good shower. There was no magnifying mirror. (glad I brought my own) I found the lighting in the bathroom not very condusive to putting makeup on. I had to take everything to the window for good light. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The hotel itself --- Juan, the bartender, was very accommodating and friendly. We had some good conversations with him. The outside sitting area was very inviting. We didnt use the other facilities, i.e., pool, exercise room, or restaurant. Although the room was very comfortable in climate, the rest of the hotel was freezing. It was so cold, the person at the front desk had a heater on and aimed at her. Everyone in reception was very helpful and friendly, especially Lauren who printed out directions for me.We didnt find out until the morning we were leaving that there are discounts at the surrounding restaurants if you show your room key. We ate at D-Lux Diner 4 times and Outback 1 time, so it would have been nice to know this ahead of time.Overall -- very nice stay and we would stay there again if we need a hotel in that area.
For the cost of the hotel, I was expecting a little more. Ive stayed at this hotel a couple times and lately, Ive been disappointed. The rooms are needing a renovation, and the pool looks more unappealing every visit. And what happened to the free coffee and hot cocoa in the lobby? Every time we used to go there, there would always be free hot chocolate, tea, and coffee. Gee Wiz! I want that back! And I dont want to sound picky, but for the price of the hotel, why are the towels so cheap? At this point, I just feel like Im getting ripped-off.
Ligation good. Rooms clean. Albert at the front desk terrific. The rest are not pleasant. This hotel would not offer a block rate for 90 swimmers and family, nor would it accommodate us for an early breakfast.Consequently we will not be staying here in the spring and next fall as there are other chain hotels that will work with us.
Having stayed here in the past, it was inviting to stay again without issues. However, this last time was beyond unsatisfactory. Being told the wrong rate that was not charged to me, to explained information that was incorrect regarding breakfast. It didnt matter because neither of those issues were addressed.
Our family has used the Middletown Courtyard for so many happy and also heavy hearted stays. We have os many memories here form weddings to visits with elderly parents in the area and a resting place when we came to day goodbye to our father. We are thankful for the warm and quiet atmosphere but also for the wit and hospitality of Juan who with months between remembers names, wine and food choices. Absolutely our home away from home! Many thanks !
The front entrance and decor was warm comfortable and inviting. The newly renovated room had a very comfortable bed along with new furniture and rugs and decor as well !! I really enjoyed my stay and am on the road in hotels at least 48 weeks out of the year. I highly recommend this hotel !
Came to Middletown for Eastern States Weekend at the Orange County Fair Speedway and stayed at the hotel. Other than the high price due to that weekend - everything was perfect. (other local hotels rates were very comparable for this weekend) Rooms very clean, very roomy and the beds very comfortable. The staff were cheerful and helpful. I would definitely stay again.
When I am in Middletown, this is my first choice. The location to the highway and to several restaurants within walking distance is very enticing. The front desk staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, along with providing great information about the area when asked. I like the decor of the place and how modern it is. The rooms are extremely spacious and very nicely laid out to do work. Excellent experience at this location, and I stay there often
The staff was very friendly and efficient. My problem was with the price for the room vs. what you got for that price. I have stayed in hotels in busy metropolitan areas an got more for less. I don’t have a problem not getting a free breakfast, but for the price of this room you should. I shouldn’t have to spend $4 at the Starbucks downstairs to get a cup of coffee what you get for your money here is a room.
I totally enjoyed staying at the Courtyard for my daughters wedding. They handed out her goodie bags to arriving guests, and had info about her shuttle for wedding noted on their bulletin board. Happy hour/apps night before for early arriving guests was fulfilling! I would definitely recommend to anyone searching for a hotel in this area.
We enjoyed our trip very much! The only thing I did not like was when we used our Spa tub hair came out of the drain as well as when we asked for more soap the person in the front told us no because we had the do not disturb sign on our door. She said if we hadnt we would have gotten more.
This hotel was well maintained and very clean. The hotel staff made check in and check out very easy. The rooms were pretty spacious and had very comfortable beds. There is a nice open space downstairs which provided a nice large area to gather when coming back from a wedding.
Stayed at Courtyard Middletown for one night. Was greeted warmly at the front desk. The lobby was well appointed, as was the room. The room, including bathroom was spotlessly clean. I reluctantly stayed here since there was no full-service Marriott in the area. Since I am a Marriott Gold Elite (lifetime) member, I was disappointed that the Courtyard provides no included food amenities as a perk. For that reason, I would seek out a Marriott or, at very least, a Residence Inn when given a choice.
The hotel itself is nice decor is a little outdated and has some damage to it.The desk staff was extremely nice but other staff not so kind. Durning our stay we got a knock on the door the morning of check out, it was a cleaning lady and a security man accusing my guest and myself of smoking in the room, after arguing back and forth they continued to accuse us even telling us to take it to the car they asked to search the room and we of course allowed because we never smoked in the hotel the entire night or morning. They found no signs of smoke no signs of ashes, nothing so while they were leaving the cleaning lady found it important to tell us how its a family establishment even though we clearly proved we never smoked in the hotel or room. I never received an apology for literally being wrongfully accused and embarrassed in front of other guests the way I was. This stay was supposed to be a night away from our kids but instead turned until a aggravating, embarrassing waste of money.
This Courtyard was clean and very well staffed. We were lucky to find out there was a bereavement discount and the hotel was able accommodate all of the family and friends attending the funeral activities. They were very attentive and available to assist us. The location was great to the hospital and many options for food/bar businesses.
We stayed for a wedding, there was a large block of rooms. The only complaint I had was the breakfast. At 8:00 am there was a very small choice of bagels available which surprised me as well as the amount of wait time for the cooked breakfast. Other than that, the stay was enjoyable.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. Our room was ready earlier than the check-in time (we arrived at 2p, 1 hour early). We were staying at the hotel for a wedding in the nearby area. We wanted to get a drink at the bar before the wedding, but the bar was not open (3p).
I very much enjoyed my first stay at a Courtyard in a very long time. They have updated their look, the lobby and rooms are very beautiful. But the real joy was the bed - perfect! Staff is very attentive and welcoming. Ill definitely be looking for these hotels in the future.
One of the primary things we look for in a hotel is that they use beds that have legs instead of bedboards. We need better legs because Im in a wheelchair and my hydraulic lift has to be able to get underneath the bed. Many hotels use bedboard because it saves them on time cleaning the room, since with bedboards they dont need to clean under the bed. Your room is very spacious, plenty of space from my wheelchair and lift, you have beds with legs that are comfortable. The service was extremely friendly. Bistro was excellent, overall a very enjoyable stay and we will return when passing through New York again.
I am only rating this place based on a an event I attended there. It was very clean and the atmosphere had an art deco style of decorating. We went to the bar while waiting for our meeting to start. The drinks were extremely expensive. A glass of mediocre wine was $10.00 and my wifes rum and Coke was just under $10.00 and wasnt mixed quite well. Staff was pleasant and professional.
It took 2 keys, 2 different rooms and finally a night engineer to get me into my room with a fuzzy TV. After a long drive, the last thing I want is to have to go up and down the elevator and up and down long hallways schlepping my bags. And then to come back to an unconsoling front desk person who reminded me it wasnt her fault 2 or 3 times and finally gave me a warm bottle of water for my trouble. No complimentary coffee other than whats in the room... why the higher room price?! Is it for the newly remodeled contemporary breakfast area that no one was sitting in?!
Beautiful room. Great social location. Restaurants n bars within 3 minutes walk. Privacy and service was just right. Went to sister wedding. Majority of wedding party stayed in one of the 3 hotels in the same area( within 500 meters) and 2 bar n grill for after party . Not very child friendly but depending on the child. Mines an explorer. Otherwise great timr
The hotel is clean and seems pleasant, but I think they put way too much chlorine in their pool. It damaged my hair and discolored my brand new bathing suit from Macys. Damn it! The worst part was that our hair, both my daughters and mine, felt like a glue after the pool swim. We had to comb it with lots of olive oil and condition before showering, because it was turned into a big much of horrible tangle. :( was horrible. I will never forget that experience, it too such a long time for our hair to be restored back to good health. Beside the too much chlorine in the damn pool, i think the hotel itself is nice i would give a 4 star to the hotel, but the pool I would give it none. Now when we go there I dont into the pool or the hot tub any more, but my daughters they like the pool, so i have them wear a swimming cap to protect them from the harsh chlorine.
About 10 of us stood here for a Saturday night stay over and it was amazing, so many laughs.. To start off at brotherhood winery then another.. it was to cool to a nice size suites inside pool and nice sitting area in the back.. hotel was nice and clean and very nice and quick service.
The Courtyard Marriott Middletown is a nice hotel that met our needs for our recent visit to West Point. Beds are comfortable, staff is friendly, hotel is clean. The only concern I had was that our room was right near the elevator, but this turned out not to be a problem as I heard no elevator noise at all. It turned out to be fine. I would recommend this hotel.
My Wife and i stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks on 2 different trips while shopping for a home (as we are from out of state). We found it to be the most pleasurable stay in every aspect we ever experienced at a hotel before. And we have stayed at alot of different hotel brands over 30 yrs and found a new hotel brand to stick with now. Great Job !
We went to Middletown to spend time with a friend...the hotel was very clean and comfortable. I will say tho that I would not order food from the breakfast area...I was getting coffee and the girl took my money for the coffee with her gloves on and then proceeded to turn around and make someones food with the SAME gloves on; therefore serving no purpose to even wearing gloves. She also dropped an egg on the floor, washed it under the faucet and proceeded to use it to make someones food order.
Rooms were a great size, modern and clean... rooms included a refrigerator and plenty of space to hang cloths and drawers for personal items. Bathrooms were a great size, just wish there were double sinks. Shower was clean and big. One negative was I woke up with a stiff neck, not sure if it was from the pillows or not.
We asked for adjoining rooms, we going to be given separate until I complained, food was overpriced for the taste but the way they prepare food it’s no wonder. Very odd to have part of the kitchen in a hotel directly behind the bar and the bartender was cooking it. Thank god there was no one in the bar otherwise it would’ve taken longer than it did. And the selection wasn’t good, if you’re going to prepare food the way it’s set up have more/easier to prepare, finger foods/snacks/appetizers. Crazy odd! Pool had towels though, that was decent. Location very confusing at night to find, no signage on roads leading to it.
Courtyard Marriott is a nice Hotel. They should bring back the free coffee & hot chocolate, in the Lobby 24/7.Also the pool & hot tub need updating & a good cleaning! The beds are comfortable. You also dont need to keep signing into the Wifi which is nice. The staff are very nice & helpful!
Very disappointed with the guest service my son cut his foot on the pool with some glass in the pool. I went to the front desk to report the incident and the person at the front desk did not bother to help. I had to go out an buy my own bandaid and antiseptic ointment. Not the service expected of a Marriot hotel.
Excellent experience from arrival through departure...supreme cleanliness of room, linens, bathroom; plenty of hot water for a long, soothing shower with a large space with a seat and grab bars for safety in the shower itself..excellent water flow! Quiet room allowed for a tranquil evening and deep slumber.
The Middletown Courtyard Marriott is an excellent hotel with large, clean, and well-designed rooms. The staff is very friendly and knows what they are doing. The food is very good and overall decor quite welcoming. I have absolutely no concerns or issues. Highly recommended!

2022-05-29Nice hotel overall. Room was clean and furnishings were updated. Big plus if you are traveling with your pet... this hotel accommodates pets (there is a pet fee) and they must be on leash going through hotel. 2 issues.. the lighting in bath is horrible for shaving or getting ready. Secondly, there is no bar soap. I requested it and was denied. There are containers attached in shower for soap, shampoo and conditioner. So, if you want to wash your hands, you go to shower for soap, 🤔😂😂. There is a diner and other food choices within walking distance and large mall a few minutes away.

2022-06-10Only had one issue that was the ac wasnt working well. We called and they said thats how it is. We arent stupid been to many hotels and no way that the lowest the ac gets the room is 70 degrees. My wife and I love a freezing room. So it was hard to sleep in a somewhat warm room.

2022-07-01I stayed in room 234 and it was dirty and dusty ! There was hair on floor and on sink so I know the bathroom wasn’t cleaned throughout! Cobwebs in corner. The lady who checked me in told me my credit card was declined for a security deposit and later found out it wasn’t. So I gave her another credit card so the hotel charged me twice for a security deposit. Lady claims that orbitz put me down for a king size room when I bought a 2 queen bed room. Orbits tells me a different story. Will never stay here again!

2022-04-15After a wedding license, federal ID, Marriott Elite Reservation, and… driving for three hours with little kids… don’t expect the hotel staff to understand the “changed” last name (credit card/reservation). One can “slice” this in multiple ways… but simply put… it’s the lack of understanding (front desk) and empathy related to finding a solution they lack.Still a fan of Marriott but beware of this one.

2022-06-03The front desk/admin service is terrible! First they charged me for a cancellation since that is their policy. Then when I asked to reverse the cancellation because i would just stay if they were charging me, the reversed the cancellation and charged me again - twice for the same room. When I called immediately after my stay to try to get this reversed, the front desk said file a claim with your credit card. Which I did - and left two message for the general manager - who NEVER called me back. This Marriott is the worst!

2022-04-22Very nice stay in general, clean room, great place for families. I could not give five stars due to poor customer service at the breakfast area...long wait, short staffed, rude cashier.

2022-06-24The room was clean but it seemed like the place had significant staffing shortages.Housekeeping was non existent during our stay.

2021-12-19Nice hotel. I dont interact with staff often. I was slightly annoyed one night when I walked into a remote entrance and an employee way down the hall reprimanded me for not wearing a mask with no one else in sight. You no longer get room service during your stay, nor is there commentary breakfast. I never needed room service. The housemaids seem way overworked despite cleaning rooms less frequently. They must have laid most of them off. I miss the breakfast.

2021-10-16I was staying there for a wedding last weekend and we had a shuttle bus leaving at 2:15 PM but the check-in time was 3:00 PM and they told every single one of us that we could not get an early check in time at all… Even giving us early check-in on one room would’ve been OK so we could all get ready in there… We were forced to get ready in the lobby bathroom so there were about eight females and one outlet trying to get ready in this single bathroom. They were well aware about the wedding because of course a block of rooms was reserved for it… There was also another wedding happening so there were guests from that wedding also forced to get ready in the lobby bathroom. Absolutely awful, would not recommend.
