My daughter and I stayed here for 3 weeks for a dance program, and our stay was excellent from beginning to end. The hotel is in a great location, in walking distance to shops, restaurants, and most anything you would need. There is a Walgreens right next door that has all the basics, and a Starbucks across the street. I also liked that it was a little removed from the crowded tourist areas. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Our room was a good size, with a nice sitting/desk area and a mini fridge. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. The only negative is the sofa bed mattress was very uncomfortable. The staff at the hotel were all very helpful and friendly. We interacted with many of them during our stay, since we were there so long, and we did not have any negative experiences. The prices for the snacks in their grab and go store and the cafe for breakfast were quite high, but like I said, there are many other options within a short walk. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.
We stayed at Courtyard Marriott Midtown/East while filming a series called: THE NEW YORK EXPERIENCE detailing hotels, travel, dining, and 2022 experiences. The location puts you very central to all Manhattan has to offer.Hotel:Walking distance to Grand Central Station, Radio City Music Hall, Central Park Zoo and Times Square. The Courtyard Marriott Midtown East to be very clean and quiet, with great views! The beds were extremely comfortable and their staff was SO helpful. When we needed walking directions for the neighborhood they accurately guided us every time. We upgraded our room and were extremely happy with that choice.Things to do Nearby:We walked around the neighborhood the first afternoon and loved the adjacent streets as well as the many coffee shops and stores. On our second day (the best weather day) we walked over to Bryant Park and ate at the Bryant Park Grill for lunch. Overpriced (for sure) but honestly worth it for the ambience. They did not rush us at all - we spent hours there just enjoying the cafe watching people! Afterwards we popped into the New York Public Library (BPark and the NYPL are adjacent to one another), the library is a must-see if youre visiting the city, and FREE!Rainy Day: On our rainy day we decided to take in a show. This is probably the best use of your time if you have an undesirable weather day. Other great options for rainy days are: Museums, The 911 memorial (Oculus), or head over to Grand Central Terminal (Free)!Going out to the Pier and Tribeca: We took an early morning uber to the Statue of liberty tour and then stayed in Tribeca to visit Grand Banks (the boathouse restaurant) 10/10 New York Day. Both of those things were extremely fun!Overall we have zero complaints about this hotel or its location. It is perfect for a business stay or vacation.Images and Video from our stay have been posted below!- Ashley M Lands
Our team stayed here while filming a travel series detailing hotels, travel, dining, and 2022 experiences. The location is extremely central to all of the best New York excursions. We were able to walk to Broadway shows, the bus tours, fine dining restaurants, as well as Times Square. This hotel is great for business trips or family vacations. We truly appreciated the friendliness of all the staff at this hotel. The adjacent neighborhood is surprisingly quiet given its proximity to Times Square.Things to do Nearby: On our second day (the best weather day) we walked over to Bryant Park and ate at the Bryant Park Grill for lunch. Other great options for rainy days are: Museums, The 911 memorial (Oculus), or head over to Grand Central Terminal (Free)!Overall we have zero complaints about this location. If youre wanting to be in all of the action of the city but have a quiet hotel experience, Midtown East is a wise choice!Images and video our team created on this trip can be found below!
While there I attempted to speak with management three times to no avail. After coming home I have called and was promised a return call and that is hasnt happened either; though after four days I dont think it is going to happen.1. The Breakfast they offer is your choice of a muffin (dense blueberry, or carrot) or stale plain bagel, mixed fruit or yogurt, and a small drip black coffee. - NASTY2. I spent about 20 mins at the front desk arranging a late check out; only to have someone bang on the door at 11am asking When are you leaving? Check out isnt till noon and I thought I had it arranged for 2pm.3. Left my luggage with the front desk. When I came back they 1, couldnt find it. So when I went back and found it the handle was broken. The lady did say that she would get the manager but he was on break so it would be about 30ish mins... I had a flight to catch! My family has almost always staid at Courtyard hotels but this truly has me questioning that for the future.
I stay at Marriott for Business and personal travel exclusively and I am a Bonvoy member including the Bonvoy card.I picked this hotel in Manhattan for the location and because usually with a Marriott it’s a consistent product. In this case I booked a king bed with sofa (traveling for personal trip with 2 kids). The room I was given is 1) out of soap 2) has a door that has been previously kicked in and has not been repaired and 3) had no sheets for the pullout sofa. I would have been able to deal with these things (and never post reviews) except for what just happened. I called the front desk an hour ago asking for sheets for the pullout sofa - not even pillows - just sheets. After 45 minutes of waiting I called again and was told that I can’t be provided an estimate for when I’ll even get sheets because the person who brings them ‘just went on break’. I offered to go to the front desk and get them; that apparently is not allowed either. So my kids are in the bed and I’m about to sleep on a bare, 1/2” mattress because the front desk is either too lazy or too incompetent to even let me help them help me. I understand it’s a big hotel and that standards in NYC are generally low, but in this case both the housekeeping staff failed by not making the bed or stocking the sheets to begin with, and the front desk failed by just plain not caring - or even pretending to care. So I’m now paying over $300 a night to sleep on a mattress with no sheets or even coverings.Honestly a pathetic example of what I expect from Marriott under normal circumstances. Strongly recommend you book any other hotel in the area if visiting NYC. I would not stay here again nor recommend this hotel for business travel. If management ends up reading this know that whomever you had manning your front desk the evening of March 19th 2022 is terrible at customer service and needs re-training desperately.
I was attending an appointment and this hotel was one of several that was recommended. I was very happy with my choice. Clean and comfortable. All basic needs were met and we were granted a later check out due to our appointment time. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. Parking is around the corner and is self park. Not cheap but convenient. You can park and take your ticket to hotel so you will pay for parking on your hotel bill. The parking garage is privately owned but they work with the hotel to make it convenient. It worked for us, but you may want less expensive parking in which case you will have to walk or pay for a cab, so... it washes out. Convenient was our choice and we were happy.
The location is great, and near the Subway. The staff is extremely efficient, friendly and accommodating. There is a nice small area to purchase food on the 12th floor. The lighting in the room is not very good, needs more overhead light in the actual room [we were in a Junior Suite] and the bathroom could have been cleaner with fresher towels. But overall, a good hotel.
Our family stayed @ Courtyard New York Manhattan/Midtown East for our daughter’s wedding. We were welcomed and treated with the utmost respect. The front desk staff arranged for our 3 rooms to be located on the same floor, which greatly helped us. We extend our gratitude especially to Aixa Rosado. We enjoyed breakfast at BistroTable866 and the staff there also could not be any friendlier and kind, especially to our 3 1/2 year old grandson. Everywhere in the hotel was exceptionally clean and well kept. Housekeeping staff has our gratitude as well. We would not hesitate to stay here again and would happily recommend the hotel to our friends. Thank you for everything!
Facility is beautiful and given being in NYC the rooms are pretty spacious. Rooms are alsoMaintained and clean. Housekeeping staff is a little stagnant and takes a while to respond to request for additional items like towels and blankets. Hotel also does not have onsite parking & parking garage is $75 per trip inside which makes it costly for families traveling with a car. Restaurant on site is not full service but there are options within walking distance to grab a bite. Duane Reade is also next door and Train station right outside which where both very convenient. Front desk staff is friendly and do their best to accommodate guest needs.
We arrived earlier than the check in time - 11am and asked if we could be checked in early. The lady at the front desk was very professional and kind and very helpful. She found us a room right away and her attitude was very warm and welcoming. The room was very clean and spacious. Check out was seamless. Although we were not leaving New York yet, our bags were stored for us till we could retrieve them.My husband and I will stay there again whenever we visit NY!
Stayed here for a night and before arrival we were greeted with an e-mail from the hotel of what to expect during our stay: including what was opened/closed in the hotel. I thought that was very appreciative and we were also upgraded to a junior suite recently after booking online! The impression started off very well but unfortunately we did not have the best nights sleep due to a very loud construction across the street. I wore earplugs and could hear through it. Also, the bed was not the most comfortable. But the room was spacious, had great views of the city and had coffee and a mini-fridge!The location is great and the Rockefeller Center is nearby! Lots of restaurants in the area too!The hotel also has a small to-go/sit-down cafe on the 12th floor. They sell parfaits, water, fruit and other light snacks.
In town for my dads 90th. 14 of us.... all staying at the Marriott Midtown East. I booked 3 rooms. Check in was easy and fast (admittedly we got there when no one was ahead of us.) Rooms were clean and roomy. Housekeeping did a great job. Location is ideal for us. No complaints.....except -- no real food/drink available at hotel.
I have been to many hotels and the cleanliness of this hotel is amazing. The front desk staff Marie and Keisha were kind, professional and gave that extra welcoming feeling. The rooms are extra clean and room service was top level service. Thank you for making us comfortable during vacation.
Nice hotel in a nice location, if thats the section of NYC you want to be in. We paid a fair price for the room (senior discount, 2 travellers)HOWEVER, beware of parking fees! We read the reviews warning us yet we still were overcharged! And although we have been promised a price adjustment, we have yet to see it.The parking garage is very convenient but keep on them to get your car when you need it. We were promised we could pick up our car at any time, which was EXTREMELY important because we had an early (5:40 AM) medical procedure and needed our car at 5:15 AM. We sent a text the night before, which was acknowledged. But when we showed up at 5:10, the place was empty and there was no way to contact anyone. About 10 minutes later, an attendant who looked like he just woke up came down from upstairs. We gave him our ticket and he took his good ole time opening the doors, checking our ticket, checking our payment then bringing our car down. We finally got our car at about 5:35. So, needless to say, this garage is not very reliable and overcharge. Next time we will park our car someplace else. The convenient location and overcharge is not worth dealing with this garage. The only complaint we had about the hotel itself was they have no concierge, which as tourists comes in handy in a large city. The front desk was very helpful but they arent a concierge.
Stayed at this hotel for just one night. They were not able to give body lotion which was not in the toiletries even though I made a request. Otherwise was not disappointed. You stay at this hotel for the convenience of getting on to Roosevelt Island quickly using the tram.
My wife and I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past few months. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff (front desk, housekeeping and Bistro) are unfailingly friendly, efficient, helpful and welcoming. They all go out of their way to show their appreciation of our business. This hotel has become our go-to lodging source in NYC.
The room given to us is quite big, the beds are super comfortable. The bathroom is super clean. Close to airport and close to some attractions. Close to some fast food place. The maintenance Spanish lady is super nice. Flaws: free wifi sucks- so slow, didn’t use it, breakfast that I paid for the 5 days sucks- same food over and over, the staff who serve the foods is not very nice. Made my family like were begging for it. Made my kids uncomfortable. I wish you have the lobby or waiting room on the first floor. There’s only one male receptionist that’s always have a smile and greet everyone. His a bit brown skin, didn’t get his name. Overall it’s a good hotel.
I booked this hotel because it was close to our last destination of the night after a great day of birthday celebrating. When we arrived the staff were extremely helpful and nice. We were allowed to leave our bags until we were allowed to check in. When our room was finally ready it was more then what we expected. The room was very spacious and clean. After the day of celebrating we called down to the front desk for after hour places as it was 1:30 am and the staff were more then happy to assist us. I would definitely stay here again without a doubt.
Wanted to stay in midtown east for the convenience of where I was planning to shop (we planned on doing alot of walking). Courtyard Manhattan Midtown East didnt disappoint us. I was so nervous after reading thousands of reviews from guest who stayed at different hotels around manhattan during covid. I must say anyone who complained about this hotel mustve been just having a bad day. We can all expect to not beable to fully enjoy the hotel amenities due to covid. The staff was supper friendly. The hotel grounds were very clean. We stayed on the 28th floor and our room was ready well before 4pm which is check in time. We entered the room and it was supper clean not a detail of the room unkept or dirty. It smelled fresh. My Husband said when we come back we will be staying at this hotel again. I have not one complaint. A wonderful peaceful 2night stay at the Courtyard Manhattan Midtown East.
Five night family stay beginning Labor Day weekend. The hotel is in a great east side location, with subway stops for three different lines within one block of the property. The staff was friendly. The room was quite large. Excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water for the shower. The television was extremely large. There were two negatives. First, the refrigerator only worked sporadically even after we had maintenance attempt to fix it. Second, both of the queen size beds in our room were soft and saggy, needing replacement. One of the two mattresses had a very distinct indentation where guests slept. But on the whole we were very satisfied with our stay, and would return.
The only thing I had issues with was the keycard being used via app so that you don’t have to carry the physical card but the app is truly a dream. You can message the front desk at any time and get a request for any room needs which is the technological age we live in now and it’s a dream. It would have also been nice to have a microwave in the room to be able to reheat left over food from the millions of restaurants around the area. Overall I was happy with my home away from home.
I wish I had taken photos of my room I got a king size bed with a sleeper sofa.. and it was disgusting the carpet looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in ages! The trash cans didn’t have no type of trash bag or lining.. the bed sheets looked used.. the desk where the tv was placed on was dusty! I found hairs in the shower.. disgusting! I wanted to throw a fit but I was trying to make sure my kids had a great time.. so before anything was touched I went to the Walgreens downstairs and bought some bleach spray and disinfectant and spray and wiped everything down!! If you’re going to stay clear here a headache awaits you!
The staff is warm and welcoming. The location is great to explore the city from. The coffee machine in the room needs to be replaced. It kept breaking down. The sofa bed mattress is of very poor quality. Free water bottles should be provided in the rooms. The business center has extremely limited hours. It should be kept open 24 hours for the convenience of guests.
I was skeptical upon arrival. Chair behind Registration Desk was tattered and torn. Property is older which does not make it bad in itself. Hallway did not have a fresh scent. Duvet/blanket very wrinkled and not fresh. Bed linens were in worse condition. Sofa and throw pillows appeared to have an odor and an unclean feel about them. I decided to immediately check out, especially considering the viral global climate. I was asked if I wanted a room change. I preferred a hotel change but was offered no assistance in that effort. I am a loyal Platinum member for a lot of years but never have I been a hotel snob. I would not recommend this property to anyone for any purpose.
The rooms are spacious and the staff are super nice, however, the AC did not work well and we had to ask for 2 portable fans. One of the beds had seen better days and the dip in the mattress meant sleeping awkwardly. No ventilation in bathroom. Parking garage costs $65 daily and is located a short walk around the corner. No food available other than breakfast (you have to pay) and mini-mart.
The good: I chose this hotel due to location. The price was probably correct for a 3-star hotel in Manhattan. However, unless this hotel is renovated, I will never stay here again. The location is great. They physical quality of the hotel is sub-par. The carpets are stained significantly. I was in two rooms and both of them were so stained, I didnt feel comfortable walking around. A cockroach was crawling around in my first room which set the tone. Please give the hotel a renovation!
While the staff was friendly and helpful, there were numerous issues with the hotel that created a rather negative experience. The bathroom was the least functional Ive seen; It had zero counter or storage space, its one outlet didnt work, the shower head was extremely low and the hair dryer was garbage. The room had exactly 3 outlets, which were all very inconveniently placed and its mini fridge didnt get cold. Be aware the hotel has zero places to sit or gather anywhere on premise (including the check in area) which was inconvenient when having someone meet you. The only elevator to our floor broke the morning of checkout, but fortunately staff was helpful (theres 2 elevators but they each only go to half of the floors). Any of these issues on their own wouldnt have be a big deal, but together it created a negative perception of the hotel, especially in regards to maintenance. And it did have a minor impact on our stay, which I cant say has ever happened before with a major hotel chain.
Way below average. Submitted several pre-check in requests and none of them were even looked at, room is totally dated and basic and the shades don’t work at all can’t put them up or down, one of the worst hotels I have stayed in for the $. Customer service is horrendous - they have an app where you submit requests or “chat” with front desk but no one answers your requests and if you try to call they don’t pick up the phone. For what I paid I will never return, this hotel should be half the price I paid, no food or anything included - don’t stay here. Location is nice that’s IT, not worth any $ to stay here absolutely horrible.
Copying the email I send to the manager, NEVER got a response:We were staying in the above mentioned room from August 12-16th. And I wanted to bring our issues to your knowledge, the AC in the room was not working and we had to endure stifled hot environment for the entirety of our stay.Multiple complains were filed with the front desk but the excuse was the heat wave and the size of the room. This reason would have been ok if AC was actually working. First night we were provided 1 standing fan, even though we asked for another fan which was not provided, till the next day. Eventually second standing fan was provided, which also did not help. There was no air circulation in the room. Which would not be the case if AC was working, air circulates even if it doesn’t cool. The excuse that room is old, AC is old and it’s a big room is not our fault. If there are issues with a room it should not be open for reservations! We were finally switched to another room on our final night 2603 the AC seemed to be working just fine even though the heat wave is still very much there and the room was same size. And to further make our stay frustrating , the room was not cleaned on Sunday. We left our room at 11 am and returned at 8 pm and still it was not made. And again the excuse, the staff must have seen do not disturb sign at 11 am and didn’t come back! And please note we very knowingly removed do not disturb before leaving the room. I would truly appreciate if I can be reimbursed for the nights we were in the room with no AC.
My wife and I have been in NYC for several visits to Memorial Sloan Kettering and we have stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott. On both occasions we have found all of the staff we have interacted with to be friendly and helpful. The facility and rooms are clean and housekeeping has been responsive to extra requests when needed. Understanding the limitations Covid-19 has placed on the facility we are hopeful they will be able to return to additional on-site dining services in the future although there are many restaurants within walking distance and we were able to take advantage of delivery options even choosing to eat in.
We could not have been happier with our stay. Our room was huge (corner king) and spotless and the hotel was very quiet. Every staff person we encountered was incredibly nice and efficient. Check in was a breeze and parking was super easy and just around the corner. Starbucks across the street and Duane Reade downstairs. Breakfast/lounge is beautiful and there is tons of seating. There wasnt a lunch or dinner dining option when we were there but its NYC - there are tons of restaurants around every corner. The staff really makes this hotel an excellent option.
I highly recommend this hotel!! The staff was amazing, the room was large and clean and extremely comfortable, especially the beds!! The a/c worked great which was awesome since we were there in July!! The location was perfect, close to the subway and walking distance to a lot of key places! I will not stay anywhere else!! It’s a perfect 10!!
My family and I recently stayed at the Courtyard. It was a great stay with great rooms, and very nice service. Its a quieter area in the evening which was nice. Easy to get cabs. The only challenge we had was that the hotel was not on a great subway line but we managed.
The front desk staff was very welcoming, even more so than I have experienced at Marriotts before. This is a different Courtyard than the run of the mill ones, and we got a good corner room, quite spacious for Manhattan. The front desk and house keeping staff were very friendly and accomodative.Front desk staff repeatedly made sure, I received all the elite benefits I was entitled to, excellent service.
This Marriott had spacious, comfortable rooms. I would say large rooms for a New York Hotel. The staff was kind, and helpful. The most important part of our stay was that we felt safe bringing our family. They follow CDC guidelines and had someone constantly cleaning surface spaces.
Worst decision ever. Want to love it, great location, but beds are worse than kids scout camp beds. Even on elite floors. Were in absolute bits after 2 days. And I travel 50 percent+ for work so have all kinds of beds and linens. Stick to Residence inn or Fairfield Inn if you want value rooms with Marriot. These beds will ruin your trip
This was the biggest NYC hotel room I’ve had! Hotel public areas were always clean. Housekeeping did a great job. Staff was nice and prompt to respond the requests. The quick access to the subway (6, E, M lines) was extremely convenient. I would absolutely recommend this hotel!
Staff is great. Location is great. Housekeeping and management need some work. Someone was smoking cigarettes on our floor the entire weekend and it was never caught by management. We didn’t have any of the sheets, blankets, and pillows we needed for the sofa bed (why aren’t these in each room?!?!), there was no shampoo, conditioner or soap in the bathroom and we were woken up by a fire alarm on 8am Sunday morning and then a women’s voice speaking multiple times not giving clear instructions. It was scary and very confusing. All that said, the women at the front desk were fabulous!! The room was very spacious compared to many places we’ve stayed and it was clean upon arrival. The lobby is small but very clean. The location is great as well.
When I stay in NYC I like to get a place in midtown close to the subway. I am a budget conscious vacationer even when I visit for leisure and the spaciousness of this clean room really was a treat. The amenities and the lounge on the 12th floor where top notch and a great way to start off a day of shopping and sightseeing. I did not interact with the staff much but when I did they were helpful and courteous. Definitely on my list for future visits.
We have stayed at this hotel before with no issues, but this visit was a little disappointing. Though the room was clean and the bedding comfortable, there was construction all night. We also ran out of hot water and the room temperature could not be lowered. That said, the staff was fine and the location of this hotel is perfect for our needs. We love Marriott hotels, so I would stay here again but only after these issues are addressed.
For this price, I found another hotel that gives me much more and actually satisfied my needs. Marriott did not have slippers, robes, water bottles nor snack bar/basic complimentary options outside soap and such, which to me was very annoying given how much Im paying, especially because I stayed at another hotel in the same area a few blocks away that offered those amenities and more. This was not a bad stay, it did the job. But one can find hotels at half the price that does the same job, so if youre wanting an experience thats worth the price point, and not unreasonably so like just having slippers and water bottles, then I would recommend other hotels.
Good location on the east side with lots of food options in all directions. A few short crosstown blocks to central park, Rockefeller center, times square areas as well. Subway station a few steps to your left as you step outside the hotel. Lobby area is tiny and unattractive and there are really no public areas to sit and relax. Your room is your only option to relax here. They have computers to print boarding passes or whatever, but no real business center to conduct any kind of business. They have no food except for breakfast on the 12th floor, but its only a coffee shop with pre-made items. Better to go outside to much better options for food all starting from about 50 yards from the hotel. The 12th floor has a nice.public seating area with more computers to use, but the hotel blocks this area off after breakfast hours using COVID as an excuse. Lose a star for that, as businesses are using COVID to close or restrict access and services where there is no connection to COVID. Rooms are very large for Manhattan which was great. Very clean with well appointed furniture, large screen tv and mini fridge. Needed a microwave though as eating in was problematic with food getting cold. I never use the in room coffee makers as they are always too dirty and use microwave for my tea. Couldnt do that here and had to keep going out for tea. Once it gets cold I had to through it out. Staff pretty friendly and acknowledge you most of the time. Marriott is going out of their way to recognize those with bonvoy.status, which I greatly appreciate. Ona a side note, Hilton fails miserably at recognizing its loyal members, so Marriott is the big winner here. In short, I highly recommend this hotel. Just beware it is much pricier than expected, especially with no real public areas to relax outside of your room.
Conveniently located hotel in midtown east. Rooms are bigger than most hotels in the area and they are relatively well maintained. The people at the front desk are good, however after I checked out I had a problem with my original reservation and when I tried to get a copy of the folio, the hotel staff didnt respond to my information request via email/phone.
I highly recommend the suite room for a larger family and the hotel was a great location and super clean. The beds were so comfortable and the view was so exciting for the kids. I really like how they store your car and luggage 24 hours so you can still play in the city till you need to leave.
Positive: For us, location was very important. The hotel was located near the stops, Subway, and taxes were everywhere. We did especially like our housekeeper, Marina. She was attentive and kept Our brand sparkling clean. Negative: We used the quick coffee shop in the hotel once. It was extremely high price for the product. The barista¿s were very nice and the place was clean.
I go to NYC a few times a year but this was the first time staying at this property. I will definitely be staying here every time I come back from now on!!! The property is in great shape, the rooms are very clean and large for NY and the staff is fantastic. Hector checked us in and couldn’t have been nicer!
Excellent room with Amazing Customer service. The reception team was so welcoming and took extra time to acquaint us with the surrounding area transportation, dining and travel essential shopping. I want to mention Delicia and Julissa who engaged us each day during our stay to offer assistance. Another star is Oneida who came to our room to assist with the TV to ensure we could access the premium channels. She not only came to the room twice, but even called later to make sure our premium TV channels were working. The manager Steven was happy to help with a special request due to a long International flight and followed up to inquire on additional assistance. Overall our 8 night stay was incredible and we cant wait to return.
The front staff was super helpful, cleaning staff was courteous and the rooms were quiet, comfy and spacious. We enjoyed our stay here as we learned it was very convenient having the 24 hour Walgreens, breakfast vendors and subway so close by us! We were pleasantly suprised to know we were located so close to a police precinct and fire station. Every encounter we had in our hotel or around the area was positive. Any issues we had, the staff all worked together to make it right. Thank you for making this first time visit as a family to NYC such a memorable one!
Great location. Excellent service at front desk and housekeeping during my 11 night stay. Big room and good facilities in-room for remote working. Lots of natural light with big windows much appreciated. Bathroom good condition. Only exception was room decor which needs an upgrade (carpet change etc.).
This hotel did not meet our expectations. There was no water bottles in the room, no mini bar and no tea bags. The service was quite sluggish. We requested for tea bags and toilet paper (which should be extra in the bathroom!) but they didnt bring them to us, so we had to walk back to the front desk and ask again. The strangest part was parking. When I called, they said itd cost $55 or $65 per day depending on the size. However, when we arrived, there was another company (SP+ parking) managing it. They said this is the cost of keeping the car 24hrs in the parking without moving it but if you want to take the car out in between you should pay more. Its bizzare! Ive never seen anything like this in any of the hotels Ive ever been. At the time of check-out the hotel wanted to charge us $65 and when we told them its $55 they said oh yes youre right!! When we wanted to get our car after check-out we were standing in a line for one hour because this parking only had ONE worker to serve the customer. Thanks to God we drove to NY cause if we had a flight we wouldnt make it.I dont recommend this hotel and I wont stay in it ever again.
The front desk team is great! We have stayed at many Marriott Hotels but the front desk team at the Courtyard MME is the very best. They are professional, friendly, helpful and always handle our travel needs. We have been staying at the hotel for over 20 years and the primary reason for us returning is the front desk team. They are keepers and valuable assets to your company. Dont loose them. Also, we are very happy that they and their families survived the pandemic and are doing well. We will be back in November for the Thanksgiving holidays and we have already booked our reservations.
Staff was very professional and friendly. Standouts were definitely the ladies working the breakfast/coffee area who were so kind to our kids. The rooms were larger than I expected for Manhattan and the facility was very clean. Gym was being remodeled however they made arrangements with a local gym for hotel guest to use. Will return soon.
Very pleasant stay. Located right next to a subway stop. Waking distance to Central Park, Fifth Ave. etc. Rooms were spacious for 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids). View was good unlike many other NYC hotels where all you see is the building next to you. They have pre-negotiated daily parking rates ($45) with a garage within 4 min walk. Was the best rate I could find from all my search. Please note that you cant take the car in and out once you park. Staff was friendly. Would definitely come back.
Havent gone wrong with Courtyards before, and wasnt disappointed this time. the location is great. right beside a subway stop and a Duane Reade. About a 25 minute walk to Times Square with plenty of cool options for dinner around the hotel. The prices were reasonable and the rooms were large. The hotel staff was very helpful. Great hotel and great value.
Excellent location, spacious and comfortable rooms. Beautiful lounge area, hot breakfast. Courteous and professional staff. Walking distance to Central Park, Times Square, Grand Center, museums, amazing restaurants and so much more!! Great place for kids of all ages! We stayed with our 8 and 12 year olds. My friend stayed with her 11 and 17 year olds. We all had a phenomenal time! Great pillows and mattress! Best sleep in a while! Highly recommend!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard Manhattan East. We arrived very late (after midnight) on 6/27/21 due to unexpected delays at JFK airport. We were greeted by a very kind and welcoming team member. Our room was very clean with a beautiful view. This hotel is in a great location within walking distance of Times Square and Central Park. We will definitely be back!
The front desk staff was very welcoming and friendly. They juggled many Amazon, food delivery and laundry services with ease and a smile. My cleaning lady was amazing and always left me a note, I was there for 5 months so their acts of kindness made my time from home a little easier.
My team and I came to NY for an expo and stayed at your establishment. 1 person in particular stood apart from the rest. Anna at the counter was an amazing ambassador of your brand and NY city. She was always available, gave us great advice on where to go while in town. We had shipments come in and she was first to alert us by name when we walked back to hotel. Thank you Anna and keep up the amazing work.
TL:DR room had stains and holes in carpet, uncomfortable beds, beat up furniture and not good AC but excellent location, stellar view, and nice staff.Upon check-in we arrived at our room to find that the cleaning staff had just finished (we assumed), as the furniture was moved out to the tile area like you would for vacuuming. No big deal, we put it back - and in doing so we noticed the stains and holes in the carpet, and the cracked and beat up back of the desk chair. Our room also had an absolutely breathtaking view of Manhattan, so we shrugged and started unpacking, thinking we would deal with it later. A knock upon our door announced the arrival of a very confused looking housekeeper holding a carpet cleaner - he obviously had not expected to find us here. He retreated, and a few minutes later a woman who I assume was the head housekeeper appeared to explain to us that she had planned to take this room out of service, but had not been quick enough to do so before the front desk gave it to us. She then assured us it was clean and ok, that she had just wanted to shampoo the carpet. So, having already unpacked, we were confused but ok - it was time for us to head out anyway for dinner. When we returned, we noticed that the AC was blowing cold air but the room had not cooled down. We contacted the front desk who sent the maintenance man, who also confirmed that the AC was working. He left and returned with a box fan, to help push the cold air into the room and away from the window - the box fan then began its 5 night and 6 day marathon run for us on top of the AC unit. After the first night of sleeping on the terrible beds, we awoke aged 30+ years and crept to our pain killer supply to tend to our backs - Ive never had a bed hurt my back every single night I was in it like these did. No breakfast included in our stay, so luckily for us there was a great restaurant around the corner, so we grabbed a bite and headed out. We returned to our room around 2:30pm that day to find that housekeeping had yet to stop by (this would become a pattern), hung out for a bit to escape some of the heat and headed back out, requesting more pillows to try to fix the bed issue. It didnt help. On the plus side, no bugs here, never felt unsafe, and the staff really were kind, if not always up to the performance standards I would have expected given the money Id spent. We would not stay again though until the rooms are refreshed.
Be sure to take a mirror and a flashlight along for your visit to the Courtyard. The light in the bathroom (which has the only mirror) is very dim. The whole room is in need of a redo. Housekeeping is doing an adequate job in cleanliness but it is difficult when things are in need of replacement. Having no food, not even breakfast, makes the whole visit much more difficult. We were there 5 days. However, the location is great.
My husband and I were in the city because our son was having surgery at HSS. Get a place to stay and we are so happy that we found this Marriott. We were so stressed out but upon walking into the hotel we were greeted with a smile by Mimi. She offered us a room and said it was ready right then. That was music to our ears because my husband and I were so emotionally exhausted we were able to get into the room quickly and relax. The next day when we were scheduled to leave we asked if we can have a later check out as my son was not ready to be discharged. We were actually able to stay until 1 o’clock that afternoon which was very helpful. We were able to stay in our room instead of having to go to the hospital and just sit in the waiting room. I am very grateful for Mimi‘s compassion and customer service to my husband and myself during such a stressful and emotional time. Thank you Mimi for making our stay less stressful so we could focus on our son.
Poor Value. Room was worn, furniture old and tattered. Bathroom products cheap. TV selections limited, and poor. Tree Tea oil shampoo - terrible.Toilet so noisy that when you flush, it wakes the other person up. Poor antiquated shower, with poor, old ergonomics. Breakfast, expensive and terrible. Terrible coffee, and terrible muffin. No robes, overcharged for my parking. Other Marriotts charged $50 per day, this one charged me $65 per day. Staff was very good, but overall $500. for two nights -- not worth it at all. I expect better as a BonVoy memeber. Give this one a miss. C-
It was nice, didn’t expect much since it said it was 3 stars, pretty decent keeping in mind that it’s in the middle of the city. I was I little mislead because it said parking available, I didn’t know I had to pay extra. Would be nice if it was stated that you have to pay for parking. The view was nice, you get your essentials and the space was good. I would go back.
My wife and I stayed at the property for a weekend out/babymoon staycation and the property is very updated. Fully equipped with mobile access and contactless check in/checkout at front desk - which is key since my pregnant wife and I wanted to limit exposure as best we can. They set us up with a beautiful corner room with an L-view down Third Avenue. Nice accomodations. Only odd interaction was despite the signage saying 2 people per elevator ride a housekeeper forced herself with the cart in despite my wife and I exclaiming our discomfort with more people in the elevator car. She abruptly responded yall in the same household arent you and I just thought that was pretty inappropriate.
Hotel is in a great location. Our room was spacious and most importantly it was quite! I would have given the hotel an Excellent but the beds were not very comfortable. They were on the firm side. Otherwise everything else was great. There is a Starbucks across the street as well as a Duane Reade next door.
Thank you Marriot for such a wonderful experience on my first trip to the Big Apple! The hotel was lovely and the rooms amazing. The staff was very helpful and everything about this trip was as one would expect from a company such as Marriot. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you!
Stayed at the hotel while my wife was having surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Took advantage of the MSK corporate discount. Great location and very clean and up to date hotel with spacious rooms. Also has very good COVID-19 health and safety standards. Needed to keep extending my stay until my wife was discharged and the front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. When we return to NYC for follow up MSK visits, we will definitely choose to stay at the Courtyard Marriott Midtown East. Thank you for your great service.
I’ve been staying at this hotel for years. And recently I’ve been staying for a few days a week during COVID. I’m so impressed with the level of service. The people who manage and work at this location go above and beyond to support their guests. They are compassionate and accommodating. The rooms are impeccably clean. The mask rules and elevator rules are clear and adhered to. I felt very safe at this hotel. I cannot recommend this location enough. Thank you again to the management and the staff for making my stay so smooth. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I had a great stay. The staff are awesome. There were a few minor things I wish were different. I didnt have a microwave in my room. You actually have to share the microwave thats on your floor in the hallway. I also had a broken shade in one of the two windows. As bad as that sounds the room was clean and nice. I would have given 4stars but for the amount of money I paid I would like a working shade and my own private microwave.
I travel regularly, staying 3-4 months a year in hotels. This place feels like people who are doing the minimum necessary to avoid being yelled at. Your dirty towels are taken away but not replaced. The water in your shower drains slowly enough that your tub will start to fill. They don’t have room service but accept deliveries, but they’re all just shoved on a little table. There’s also a lot of outside construction going on and the walls are very thin. I could hear my neighbors conversations though they weren’t particularly loud.I will say, this place was less expensive and is in a good location.
Location was right near metro station. Easy to get to anywhere we needed to go. The room was clean and cleaned regularly. The only reason not for 5 stars is front desk was often overwhelmed with guests and were not always able to help me when I needed. Reception area was small. Also the hotel smelled very strong of marijuana. I don’t know if cleaning crew used it while cleaning or some guests near me were using it.
Great hotel, conveniently located in mid-town East. Super clean, friendly staff. We are a family of 4 and stayed in the Junior Queen Suite. Enough room for everyone! We stayed on the 28th floor - great views! The restaurant was closed due to COVID-19, but it looks great. Will definitely return.
The Courtyard hotel was in good condition, however the amenities were closed and it wasnt fun to go outside for every meal when we could go and have something in the restaurant inside the hotel. No room service either so right now this hotel is very good if you want a room to sleep only. The staff is very attentive and dedicated.
I had a great stay for my birthday weekend. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. The hotel is close to great restaurants and shopping stores. The only faux pas was no private microwave,my room had one broken shade and there isnt a bathroom fan. Trust me there should be a bathroom fan after someone uses the bathroom. If those things are rectified I definitely will return again.
As a long time Marriott Bonvoy member, I had a very positive experience while facing a challenging time at Memorial Sloan Kettering. I very much appreciated the Marriotts willingness to provide a reasonable daily rate while I was visiting the hospital everyday. It is their important contribution to easing the cancer experience for families.
The Courtyard New York Manhattan/Midtown East is a very clean hotel the staff are very professional and welcoming. The location is in walking distance to many places, Transportation to and from the hotel is very accessible. The hotel is very quiet, the rooms could use a little more lighting, and a little microwave.
The location is absolutely perfect! I mean, everything is so close. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They are also very accommodating. Took my fiancé here for birthday trip and he had a blast. I would stay here every time I visited NYC. This would be my #1 choice!
Before I bash this hotel, I’d like to state that I’ve been traveling for business for 3 years and have stayed at many different brand hotels and many Marriot hotels in general. This particular hotel gets a terrible rating from me due to their complete disregard for their guests in case of emergencies. I had a 3 night business stay with this Marriot in Manhattan Midtown East, and on the eve of my checkout, had to be rushed to the ER upon which I was admitted for emergency medical care followed by recovery. My drs called this hotel to explain the situation, upon which I was granted a 4 pm late checkout towards my “Elite status” with Marriot (not because I was in a life threatening medical emergency, mind you). My spouse was supposed to arrive from another state to help out by 5 to 6 pm so naturally I asked the hotel for just another 1 to 2 hr extension owing to the circumstances. The manager said he needs the room as they are fully booked, AND needs to charge me for half a day. I understand the need for the room, and we were planning to give it up anyway. Charging us for half a day seems morally wrong and extremely unfair. I will never book a stay with this hotel again, and Marriot will not be my hotel brand of choice moving forward.
Had a wonderful weekend at the NYC Courtyard. We’ll situated to walk to Time Square,Central Park, Broadway and MOMA.The check in and out was extremely easy and getting Cabs/Ubers was a breeze. The Superstars were the weekend cleaning staff for the 16th floor who did an outstanding job in keeping the room fresh( even through our mess!). Would highly recommend this location!
I was there about five days ago during a really bad he wave and the AC didn’t work. Call to the front desk to let them know they sent somebody up maintenance man said he was gonna let the front desk know we needed a room change. Two hours later no one contacted me so I called the front desk back and then they sent another guy up. He also told me what I already knew the AC wasn’t working clearly. Wait another hour no one still contacted me so I called the front desk and they finally sent up a new room key about 40 minutes after that. Just wasted a lot of my time. And not one apology
We had a decent stay for a last min option. Our pullout bed in our first room was broken and one of the guest almost hurt themselves by how broken it was. We were accommodated with a new room in which the pullout was not broken. We just had to ask for linen for the pullout couch.
This is our sixth or seventh stay and we have enjoyed every single one. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and very friendly. The location is very convenient, subway stop is one block away, Starbucks across the street, many excellent restaurants nearby, and there is a Duane Reade just below. Couldn’t ask for more.
Great location: close to midtown action and East Side restaurant scene. Two parking garages are within a block. Clean, easy access to quick foods on 12th floor, and overall pleasant experiences. Zero issues with staff. Our stroller broke and staff gave us paper clops to craft a pin for the wheel! Helpful in all regards.
Overall, this property was great! Centrally located, walking distance from tons of stuff and, most importantly, the subway station, making it easy to get all around the city. The staff was wonderful and very welcoming, especially during check-in. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The only negatives of the room were that the water took awhile to warm up in the bathroom, and we were located right by the elevator which sometimes made a loud noise. Other than that, it was a great stay, and I would highly recommend this property!
For a family of 3 adults, the room was exceptionally large for NYC standards. Only glitch was a burnt out lightbulb in the bathroom on the last day and maintenance had left for the day. Fortunately, they gave us a room to shower in, so we didn’t have to transfer to another room the last night. Mother Marriott always takes care of you!
We stayed here for 8 weeks in February to April, 2021. We were always treated like family, by ALL of the staff. That being said, a special shout out goes to Veryl, our housekeeper. The woman is a gem: Does her work as well as Michelangelo painted the Sistine ceiling. And the location! At the cusp of the residential upper east side, and the mighty midtown east business district! The location was awesome, even for a jaded New Yorker, such as myself. We live on the upper west side, but were gonna come back for a stay, just for the fun of it!
We had an amazing time, and were fortunate to find this hotel to accommodate 5 of us in one room. We were celebrating our 50th birthdays and wanted our trip to be like a slumber party. The room was clean and fairly big - didnt feel cramped. Sink/mirror outside the shower/toilet area which was a bonus. Location was great - closed to a subway stop, but within walking distance to a lot of notable sites. Staff was courteous and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Although my profile indicates high floor away from the elevator and my mention of that at the time of check in, I was given a room very close to a busy elevator. Between the noise of construction, which is a permanent fixture in New York City and the comings and goings of guests throughout the night, my room was as quiet as the Bronx Zoo during feeding. My bathroom lighting was so poor that I had to use my iPhone flashlight so I can shave. Would I stay here again the next ti me I am in the city? The answer is a big NO WAY!
The location is great, the staff hit or miss some very attentive others on obviously personal call and totally ignore you. The room was dirty, the carpet, towels and headboards all had stains, the window ledge had marks where someone had put out their cigarettes. So sad for a Marriott, not worth the money or the points. Just a huge disappointment.
Overall, had a good experience. Its location is close to subway stations, restaurants and a few blocks to the main street. I like the cleanliness of the room. Beds are comfortable including the sofa bed. No bed bugs. Heater/aircon was working. Shout out to housekeeping and to other staff. My only suggestion is that it would have been great if theres a complimentary breakfast.
The hotel is conveniently located in the city. There is a subway entrance virtually outside of the door which allows you to go anywhere in NY city. It is also adjacent to a Memorial Sloan Kettering hospital facility, which allows me access to all of their locations. The hotel staff is always friendly, and the rooms are very clean.
I stayed at the Courtyard Midtown East hotel for three nights to have a low-key birthday hangout with one other friend. On my second night, I received a noise complaint about my room due to the music. My friend and I quick turned off the music. We received another complaint five minutes later when we were simply talking. The security manager who came to the door threatened to call management despite witnessing that we turned off the music and we were not shouting. He could not offer a reasonable solution, it seemed that we were just being told to make no noise at all. We felt uncomfortable for the rest of our stay. The hotel should space guests out more so that these situations dont arise - Im sure the hotel is not operating at full capacity with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic so this would have been the most sensible fix.
I base my bookings on reviews and this hotel had mixed reviews BUT I can tell you that this hotel by far exceeded our expectations! They accommodated us with a microwave and a fan since we are from Texas and are always hot. The views were amazing as we were on the 27th floor (which I requested a top floor). The beds were comfy and the room was plenty big for our family of 5 (4 adults and 1 child) - we had 2 queen beds and a full size pullout sofa. I absolutely loved this hotel in Manhattan!!
I’d like to thank the Courtyard Marriott of NYC for setting the standard of the absolute worst customer service available. If you need absolutely nothing but the room, they do have nice rooms, couldn’t complain there, but customer service was so rude and short with me and my girlfriend who had just had a major facial surgery. All we needed extra from them was for them to put an ice pack in their freezer bc icing was the most important thing for her recovery for the first 24-48 hours. They had me fill out a log to give them the ice pack and show my ID and all that, which was fine initially until I came down to get the ice pack again and they asked me where my paper was to get the fricken ice pack so I had to go back upstairs, get my paper of “proof”… again, for an ice pack, come back down, wait for the new check ins, show the paper, and wait for someone to go grab it for me, which took an additional 2-3 minutes. And this ended up being the case every single time I needed the ice pack to be refrozen. So I went and bought 2 new ice packs so I could have them in rotation and always have one waiting and they still didn’t get them to me in a timely manner. At some point I would think that they’d remember that I’m the guy who needs the ice packs but they kept it formal the entire time, making me wait 10-15 minutes at a time for them to check in the new check ins and call the person to go grab the ice packs. All the while my girlfriend is upstairs in terrible pain just wanting some relief. We eventually realized this wasn’t gonna work so I went all around the immediate 2-3 blocks to find instant ice packs, which of course were out the a-hole expensive, like $20 for 8. So essentially I bought 2 extra ice packs to accommodate her at about $10 a piece and the instant icepacks for $20, so essentially spent an extra $40 and on a tight budget that could actually be significant. But here’s where it really gets bad…. I am HIV positive, undetectable for a few years now, I had the last of my current antivirals and a full new bottle to open up when those ran out. I accidentally left the full bottle (worth $3,000) on top of our mini fridge. So in a panic I called the hotel, they transferred me to “security” and the man said “call back 8 am” and I continued to try and ask him to make an effort bc of the severity of the circumstance and he kept cutting me off and repeating “call back 8 am”. My girlfriend called back to provide a calmer voice bc maybe they’d actually care about the situation, and the front desk lady who was just trying to wash her hands of the situation pretty much said “ahhh they probably threw it away” like no big deal. Policies aside, who would throw away a full bottle of pills without trying to see what they were? Come on now we can go back and forth about what’s your responsibility as a worker but forget that for a second, your moral responsibility as a human being is what’s in question. Forgive me for making a mistake but your mistake in throwing the pills away rather than turning them into the lost and found, which IS A THING at this hotel, costs 6 times what our 2 night stay costed. I’ve had to get a 7 day supply of my meds in NJ and we’re at the courtyard here in downtown Newark now. The workers here are much more pleasant and said that they have a 30 day policy with their lost and found to allow people who stayed and left something the time to even realize that they left it. Overall the Courtyard is our favorite hotel to stay in and we have nothing but positive experiences to share outside of this particular one. I think every single one of the miserable employees I encountered at this particular courtyard (866 3rd ave) needs to pick a different line of work if providing service is something that works their nerves so much. It’s like we felt like we were being difficult just for asking for such basic accommodations. This would never fly anywhere else.
The Midtown East Courtyard Marriott is perfectly situation atop three subway line in the heart of midtown, with great food nearby and a staff that will take good care of you and your family throughout a great stay. The hotel is close by good food, bagels and coffee, as well as to me important conveniences like a Duane Reade, a CVS and other local amenities. The room are a little small, but its New York, youre here to see the city, go to a show, and be out and about.
We were visiting NYC for the first time, so we looked for a place with a great location, the staff was friendly, the room was always clean and we could always recharge and rest for the next day without any noises. I will recommend this in the future as its at walking distance from many NYC landmarks.
We stayed for a long weekend in November and had a great experience with the staff. The location was very convenient to the subway. We arrived before check-in and were able to stay in a large lounge area where we were able to charge our cell phones and relax. The staff was friendly and helpful with local information and directions. The room was larger than we expected. We would definitely stay here again.
I chose the hotel on price and location and was very pleasantly surprised to discover it was much more comfortable than I expected. I took advantage of the fold-out sofa to have a friend from Indiana join me for the weekend during my stay. She was comfortable too. Having the unlimited use of a well-appointed lounge on the 12th floor in addition to the facilities in my room made my 9 days stay much more relaxed. They serve a cafeteria-style breakfast which is OK, but I found it more interesting to get a take away from one of the numerous food outlets in the surrounding streets, collect a newspaper from the front desk, and then head to the 12th-floor lounge to breakfast or lunch in comfort on my food and beverage of choice. Try the offerings from the French bakery on the corner of 51st and Lexington for something fresh and healthy.
It was an awful experience. We book our stay for 8 nights, the first night they didn´t clean our room so we went to ask the receptionist why didnt they make the room and ask them kindly to do it the next day. On the second day we came back at night and the room was not done again, at that moment we went down to ask why they didnt do it again and asked them to please do it again. The third night they do clean the room and the fourth night they did not make the room again. We asked to speak to the manager and the woman told us that she was the manager, who acknowledged being aware of the problem and apologized by offering a 25% discount for every night they did not do the cleaning. At the end she didn´t even face the problem and we had to pay the full amount, adding that the wifi never worked in our room even though we reported it every day of our stay. It was a disappointing and unbelievable that this hotel belongs to a well known chain hotel.
This hotel was the best hotel I have ever stayed at! The staff was very friendly and personable! They always had a smile. They were eager to please. The rooms were very clean and the best pillows Ive ever slept on. When going to bed it was very quiet. Could not hear any of the neighbors. In a great location! Very close to everything! Will definitely stay at this hotel again!
Front desk staff was very sweet and kind. They gave us a great room with a wonderful view. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff was accommodating to my family by quickly bringing up a play pen for our infant son. This place is also very affordable. The front desk recommended a fabulous place for us to go to dinner. The place is called Gu and it is a Japanese restaurant conveniently located a short walk to the hotel. We really appreciated them considering we were traveling with a baby. In the morning they gave us simple directions to get to the 9/11 museum. One other thing I’d like to note is that the security guards in the front immediately took action when people were smoking marijuana on the same block the hotel was on. You could smell it coming into the lobby and it was nice to see the staff take it seriously.Me, my husband and our son came down to the city for my birthday only to hangout for the evening but after hours of walking around we were tired and we found the Couryard by the Marriott on google. This hotel made my birthday such a memorable day. I would encourage anyone who is looking for an affordable and clean place, to stay here.
My son had a emergency procedure done at Memorial Sloan Kettering and we had to set up reservations immediately to travel and stay for his procedure. Courtyard accommodated our stay with the flexibility to meet our needs for our stay. We were not sure how long we were staying and Courtyard extended our stay when needed and allowed us to cancel our stay when my son was clear to travel.
The suite was large, spacious and airy, with a sofa, chairs, desk and tables. It included a bathtub and quality toiletries. The room was quiet at all hours of the day. The 12th floor lounge was gorgeous and equipped with multiple recharging stations. the fitness room had large windows and was well air conditioned, making working out stress-free. The safe location puts you in walking distance to many parks, museums and entertainment venues--yet it is fairly quiet. Whole Foods and several drug stores are only a stones throw away. As if this were not reason enough to love the place, upon checking out I was given a key to the lounge so I could use it throughout the day to recharge, unwind and relax. This is a superb hotel.
The location and staff were both excellent. King size bed was super comfortable however the sofa bed was equally uncomfortable. Hopefully they will replace the sofa beds to a better style. Sofa was fine to sit on but not great for sleeping. Hotel is adjacent to a metro entrance and very convenient to use the subway. Several good restaurants within walking distance as well.
I chose this hotel due to the price point for a holiday, location, and they allow 5 guests to stay in one room/JR suite. We flew in on New Years Day so the check-in early system didnt help us since the hotel was full. We were allowed to hang out in the lobby on the 12th floor. It was really nice but like hotels and New York, in general, the food is more expensive than we are used to. The staff is friendly and the hotel smelled good at all times. I really liked using the Marriott app on my phone to request any extra towels, washcloths, etc. They also used it to communicate when our room was ready. The water pressure in the shower was good. They use Paul Mitchell products and would refill as needed. There was a hair dryer but I had my own. We had access to a small dorm refrigerator in which we used to chill water bottles we purchased at a nearby Duane Reade/Walgreens. I prefer hotels that have free breakfast but this one did not offer it. Id say that was my only con against this hotel. Otherwise, we were completely satisfied. There is access to breakfast at several places near the hotel which are not so expensive. The internet worked well and the speed was fast.
We stayed 6 days, 5 nights in mid of August, the location is 2 minutes from 53 subway, a convenient Mart just next door. Location is very good, not far from time square (15 minutes walk), but busy enough to stay downtown. Room is very clean, maintained well. Staff friendly. Comfortable bed. The pullout sofa was not too comfortable, my daughter said she slept on springs for 5 nights. So our younger one just slept on the floor which she claimed more cozy.Shower flow is OK, I found its too soft. But bathroom is very clean and up to date.Overall, its great experience for us, thank you.
The room was great! The beds could be a bit more comfortable and my TV did not work - something I hope is not reflective in all rooms. The location was great - right near the 456 train and near so much great food. Staff the very friendly. I got my room on Hotel Tonight and that was a fair price but it may be overpriced at the regular rate.
The hotel location was fantastic. It was steps away from the E and M train. It is above a Duane Reade pharmacy. Walking distance to the Rockefeller Center, St. Patricks Cathedral, and so much more. We had a large room- 1 king size bed and 1 pull out sofa bed. There was plenty of closet space, lots of counter space, and a mini-fridge. We were able to fit 2 adults and 2 young children, along with 2 strollers and all of our suitcases in the room comfortably. The down side is the bathtub did not appear to be cleaned prior to our arrival- with lots of hair throughout it. And the mattresses were absolutely horrible. Some of the worse mattresses of any hotel Ive been to in years. The mattress on the pull out sofa shouldnt even be called a mattress- its more like a bunch of metal coils with fabric draped over it. And the king mattresses offers little comfort and support. Both mattresses need to be replaced. Overall, I am happy with the stay, mainly because of the ease of the hotel and the space in the room. I know most other hotels in manhatten are very cramped, and this was not.
Upon arrival we were greeted with friendly staff, however, the sheets on one bed were filthy and had to be changed. The carpets in the room appeared so stained and dirty we didnt want to walk barefoot on them. The shower curtain was covered in old conditioner. The chair in the room was so dirty nobody wanted to sit in it. The desk chair was very old and the material was peeling. The AC will only go so low and at times during the day tge room felt stuffy.
Overall our experience with this hotel was good. The check in and check out took no time! The restaurant was good and the variety of food offered is excellent. A little pricy but if you are in a hurry and have to have breakfast before you leave the hotel for your work or site seeing you can use the services. The room was so comfortable. The house keeping did an excellent job! I would say that if you are looking for comfort and ease ..this is the place to go to!
I booked two rooms; we wanted connecting but they didn’t have any for our room types. Later someone told me those rooms are reserved for guests with disability. This was a issue as had to keep going back and forth between the rooms. Think about having to put your shoes on every few minutes or so when you are just trying to chill. Room sizes are the biggest I have seen so far in nyc. Staff were VERY NICE. Pillows were the absolute worst of anywhere I have stayed ever. Please update those. No USB chargers and overall hotel seems a bit dated. Otherwise really loved everything else. Great location!!! Great staff.
We had a great time staying at this hotel, they had a great cleaning service. I called room service some times and they came in time and very friendly. Carpet and bathroom were very clean and that gives a good look to the hotel. It was very central and they have amazing views. I’ll recommend this place to everyone and I’ll come back again to my next visit to NYC!
We had a great weekend staycation at the hotel. The front desk was generous about upgrading for Elite members. The room is spotless although a bit dated. In front of the main entrance there are E and M lines and more (4/5/6) nearby. There are an array of restaurants and coffee shops closeby. Also close enough to the Central Park and the shopping area on the Park and Madison Ave. I can see our family coming back for another staycation.
The down sides first. The noise from the hall by staff and guests comes right into the room as if the door was open. The vanity is in the room with, which in a dbl bed room was a bit awkward when washing up while staying with a friend. The up sides!Noise from outside was not an issue, we faced the police and fire departments and were barely bothered. The rooms and hotel are very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were VERY comfortable. Parking in the hotel was a bit privacy, but convenient. Rooms are up to date and modern looking. Oh, did I mention the bed?Over all the was a very good stay, and I would have given 4 stars of it wasnt for the nose that came from the hall. If they could find a way to dampen it, its be great.
The staff was very nice and friendly and made sure our stay was good my only issue that I had was that the internet connection was very poor! Me and my family stayed there two nights tried to watch movies with the kids and it just kept freezing and freezing. This is not high speed internet at all
We were pleased with the location of our hotel, on the 27th floor you could see the Chrysler Building out the window. Convenient places for shopping nearby for misc items (drugstore) as well as many places to grab a quick bite or cup of coffee~ (Pret) We originally wanted a place that had breakfast included but that wasnt a problem after all. Only negative was~pullout bed not ready when we got there, and it was not very comfortable to sleep on, so we took turns. (5 of us in the room) but the other beds were nice. Friendly staff!
Our flight was cancelled after a long international flight, because of weather. We were tired and unsure where to stay. We found this hotel at a cheap rate online and went for it. What an pleasant surprise!! Staff goes out of their way for you! I called and they said they were full capacity the night before so likely they would just be able to hold our luggage but not be able to get a room so early. We arrived at 9:30am and they had a room ready for us! We were very impressed with the quality, treatment, spacious room, nice shower, friendly staff everywhere we went, including sharing an elevator with a woman delivering a blanket. Everyone wanted us to have a great stay and that was very apparent. We have always done airbnb in the Brooklyn area, I think we have found a new replacement! Do not miss staying here! It is a gem!
My number one priority when staying at a hotel is cleanliness. The room was literally spotless. The shower was great and the beds comfortable. I loved the safe, central location of the hotel and easy access to transportation. All of the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again!
We had a great stay at this hotel! We were able to check in early, the room was very clean, and beds were comfortable. We did find the rooms to be very dark and would recc. they upgrade the lighting. The area was very safe and clean. It was also very convenient having a drugstore right next door. Overall we were very happy with our stay!
Would not stay here again nor recommend. Very small lobby, was so crowded it was hard to get in and out each time we went through it. Desk staff were not friendly. It feels like a mill. Room smelled like someone had just been smoking in it. Elevator was unnervingly shaky. Otherwise, room was a good size and had nice views. Bed was comfortable but the pillows are pretty stiff. Cleaning staff were helpful.
We chose the Marriott Courtyard New York Manhattan/Midtown East due to its location and amenities it offered to our family of 5 travelling. The hotel & staff were excellent .... could not have been treated better. The room actually exceeded what we had envisioned, so that was a pleasant surprise. The location to all the high points that were on our adventure were easily accessed from here. As well, we dined at so many great restaurants! This was a great, memorable trip!!!At the end of each day, we knew wed have a great hotel to come back to for a good night sleep and planning for the following day.thank you Marriott!!
Stayed 2 nights. Im NOT a picky person. I just want somewhere clean and comfy to sleep when i travel. Requested extra towels upon check in and did not receive them. Requested them via chat in app again the morning after my arrival when i needed them. Didnt get a response. Chat seems to not work well here as it does at other marriott branded hotels. Takes forever to get a reply if you get one at all. Eventually went down to front desk and they finally had housekeeping bring them up. I was totally fine with not having the room cleaned during the stay i just needed extra towels and my requests were ignored. Ive stayed at many marriott brand hotels and never slept on such an uncomfortable mattress in a marriott hotel. Also the walls are paper thin. I dont usually complain about noisy neighbors but this was just crazy loud and im pretty sure they were smoking. We asked to get moved our second night because we had an early flight out and needed to sleep but they told us there was no clean rooms but offered to give us sheets and towels to take to a new room and clean it ourselves. I almost laughed like this had to be a joke. Mimi at the front desk was the ONLY friendly person at the front desk. The others were pretty rude and couldnt be bothered for simple things. Theres not many people traveling during the pandemic so why not space peoples rooms out if you know you can hear through the walls? Get some new beds.. clean the carpets (made my white socks dirty) and give Mimi a raise she seems to be doing everything the others cant be bothered to do
This property used to be my go-to while staying in Manhattan monthly - not any more. It is run down, shabby and the level of cleanliness just isnt up to par following a pandemic. During my most recent stay, I found a live cockroach in my bed and that was the last straw. The front desk staff were rude and unhelpful - I ended up leaving and booking into another hotel at 11pm. Horrible experience.
We were visiting NYC for the first time for the marathon. We were able to walk everywhere in Mid-Town Manhatten; Central Park, The Met, Times Square, Rockefeller Plaza, 5th Avenue, Empire State Building. The subway was on the corner for our trip to the 9/11 site. A Whole Foods Market a short walk away and Ess-A-Bagel (pretty amazing bagels and sandwiches) down the block and across the street. The hotel was great! I especially loved the 12th floor that had a large lounge area with plenty of tables, chairs and couches to relax upon. Our room was spacious as well. The King bed was super comfortable, however, if you choose this type of room and plan to use the sofa bed for sleeping, you may have a hard time sleeping. Unless, you just sleep on it, as a couch, and dont pull it out to sleep on the mattress provided. You would be better off bringing your own air mattress or camping sleeping pad. Or spend a bit more money for a room with 2 queen beds which I would have been willing to do except that the room rate was already high (because of marathon weekend, I presume). Overall, a great place to stay and enjoy NYC. I hope to be back.
Honestly, just awful. I am so overwhelmed right now. We booked this hotel as it was close to my familys apartment, and I booked 4 rooms total for my NYC wedding which costed pretty penny. My room, in particular, was just a nightmare. I checked into Room 2418 on 5/24, but failed to go up to the room as I was rushing to my rehearsal dinner (at this time, a majority of my luggage was at my familys apt, so thats why I had no need to review the room; I trusted them). Upon returning from a night of festivities at 2AM, I found out that the room had a dirty bathroom with blank junk on the tub as well as no toiletry and the soap dish was in the sink. We called the front desk and I got a flat Oh every room is booked out so we cant help you. I wasnt asking for an upgrade; all I wanted was a clean bathroom. The maintenance staff that came to clean the bathroom was equally as surprised, and offered their apologies and advised me to call the front desk. By that time, it was 3AM and I was near ready to break down and cry from exhaustion. Thankfully, Muhammed was able to place us into a different room, Room 2411 (whatever happened to having a booked hotel?).For the rest of the stay, it was fine. I checked out on 5/27 and was advised that all of my rooms were prepaid in full so I should not anticipate any additional charges. More importantly, a word of gratitude to Ms Delcia who went out of her way to share my personal experiences with her managers, but it honestly felt like no one in the upper management cared. Now that Ive returned home, I find a strange charge of $255 and $0.01. I called the hotel and they told me it was the one-night charge for my 5/26-27 stay, which makes no sense since I prepaid the FULL 3-night stay back in March 2019. Im currently awaiting their return email, but I hope they do the right thing this is truly adding insult to injury.Would I stay again? Unlikely given my personal experience. However, I will say that my relatives felt their rooms were nice and big, and they seemed to have enjoyed their stay. The location is convenient, but the overall reception I got from the management was lacking.
This hotel was great. It was central to most all the tourist attractions and within walking distance. Access to the subway was very convenient and easy to access. The room I had was pretty big and had a great view from the 30th floor. House keeping was wonderful and kept the room very clean. The staff and people at the front desk were nice and always available to help or answer questions. The only negative I would have to say about my room would be the issue with the air conditioner not cooling well. The temp never went below 74° and increased throughout the day. Other than that I would definitely recommend this hotel.
We loved everything about our stay. The location is excellent in terms of public transportation, restaurants and nearby attractions and shopping. The hotel was always very clean, the staff was accommodating and the room fit our family of five perfectly. We will definitely return to this hotel!
The staff at the reception were kind, friendly and efficient. The room was spacious, with a nice view of the City, and was kept clean and cozy. The only shortfall was the sofa-bed, which was not very comfortable to sleep in.Conveniently located in midtown, it was within walking distance to Broadway, Central Park and many of the other places of interest. Access to metro was also very good. In terms of shopping (for beer, water and snacks, etc.), Duane Reade (open 24 hours) was located next door, and Wholefoods was just a few blocks away. Good place for a family, and we very much enjoyed our stay.

2022-05-24Location is great and room is clean. That is pretty much the positive. No towels in room when we checked in at night.Had to ask 3 times - phone, front desk and front desk....Clean room, great front desk staff. They have a relationship with the black cars with they seem to get a cut back for every customer they refer. Interesting.....Would not recommend to stay here if you are a light sleeper. We heard construction and garbage trucks at night through the window on a high floor.

2022-06-15What a wonderful experience. This hotel has it all…Location, Lovely accommodations and Wonderful staff. We truly enjoyed our stay here. Our room was wonderful and spacious with unobstructed Manhattan views. The common areas are thoughtfully designed for not only large groups but also intimate seating for sharing a glass of wine with a friend or loved one or simply enjoying a comfy chair in a corner to read a book. We very much enjoyed this. Our outings included a wonderful boat ride around the Statue of Liberty, a lovely outing in Central Park as well as a fantastic day walking the street, sightseeing, shopping and eating some authentic New York Pizza and Lasagna on an outdoor patio.

2022-07-10Excellent location. Would give 5 stars but they didn’t honour our Friends & Family rate, which was quite disappointing. That said, the hotel was clean and comfortable, and our room on the 31st floor was spacious (by NYC standards), and had great views. The car service that the hotel has is excellent, our driver Manny was fantastic. Knowledgeable, dependable, and we used his services several times over the weekend we were there. Manny is the best!

2022-06-10We have stayed at Courtyard couple of times and they have never failed to deliver great service and clean rooms. The hotel is within 15-20 min walk from Rockefeller, Radio city, and Time Square. On rainy days we did take the metro which is on the same block only 3 min walk from hotel. We stayed for 3 days the week before Christmas to enjoy some NYC Holiday cheers - my kids loved it and we’ll be back again this year. The parking garage located on the same block on 53rd St is also amazing, our new car did not have a single scratch on it. Thank you guys for taking good care of it.

2022-06-21The staff were very helpful and our room was cleaned daily, which does not happen at many hotels since Covid. The only negative was that we were told our ride to the airport would cost us $65 but the driver then charged us $70. It was very hot on our days that we stayed but our 24th floor room stayed cool.

2022-05-11Rooms are nice but nothing fancy. The location is unbeatable though. If youre coming from JFK and take the E train into Manhattan youll come out of the subway across the street from the hotel. The staff is very friendly, more so than most places Ive stayed.

2022-07-08Great place to stay in Manhattan NYC. Family friendly, affordable and clean hotel right in the Center of the city. We really wanted to stay in Manhattan to be close to Times Square and Times Square Church. Courtyard by Marriot New York was perfect for that. We were able to walk around the city at night to show our daughter the city life and early in the am get breakfast in Manhattan cafes without being stuck in rush hour traffic. Super famous Central Park was also just 5 minute walk away. Get up early, pick up some bagels, run over to Central Park, tour MET. What else could we ask for.

2022-04-26It’s a beautiful hotel, right in the middle of great restaurants and many things to do. The room is really nice and was a great experience. The only issue I had is that I stayed 1 night and $250 deposit was taken bc I didn’t have a valid ID, (my wallet was stolen the night before) and I only had an expired TlC licence. That was over 2 weeks ago and I still haven’t received my deposit back. I’ve emailed them 3x, called numerous times and even went down there and I still haven’t received my deposit back.

2022-01-11Positive: None Negative: When I arrived, I found candy wrappers in the nightstand drawer. It took more than 2 hours for someone to clean the room and change the sheets of one bed. I prepaid for a king sized bed and a sitting area. I got 2 double beds and no sitting area.
