I have an excellent stay at the Poughkeepsie Courtyard hotel. We arrived under difficult circumstances, we had to go to a nearby hospital for a procedure the following morning. As soon as Fleridana found out the nature of our visit, she was so kind and welcoming. This was a human response that was really special and comforting at a time when I needed help. I am so grateful for the staff at this location, they really made me feel cared for.
This is NOT a 3 star hotel, by any means! I am completely disappointed in the Marriott brand. I have been staying at Marriott properties for almost40 years and have been shocked at their recent decline in services, comfort and amenities. Furthermore, their prices ridiculous for what they actually provide. Sad, very sad.
This hotel is very nice once inside. It was under construction at the time, but staff was friendly. Our room was in the basement floor close to an exit. This particular entrance smelled like wet/musty carpet, but the rooms were kept clean and didnt have any weird smells. Nice comfy bed with a microwave and mini fridge. Rooms with enough space between that noise wasnt an issue. Very pricey for a hotel about 460$ for two nights. Breakfast offered, options of a few different bagels, coffee, tea, yogurt and juice. We went for a wedding and the morning before we left they set up a breakfast that included eggs and bacon to the list -set up by the parents of the bride. Overall nice stay, close to many restaurants/things to do.
I would never consider staying in this hotel again. We have stayed in multiple courtyard Marriott and they have been wonderful experiences. First upon arriving there was fecal matter in the toilet that had been left behind that had obviously not been cleaned. This horrified us. We had paid for a suite and requested a suite and ended up in a handicapped suite. As well the air conditioning did not work in the main part of the suite the separate air conditioner in the bedroom is fine but the air conditioner was broken. We were there to attend a wedding and could not get comfortable because it was so hot. They were able to fix it luckily. As well the wallpaper in the bedroom had obvious water damage. There was full of lumps and bumps and park marks where there was some sort of water damage under the wallpaper. There was debris on the floor by the bed. I don’t believe the room was cleaned. I would never consider staying here again this is the worst Marriott property we have ever stayed in. As well because of construction the front entrance was closed when you walk by the indoor pool Louis full of sludge and debris. The grounds look like they were uncapped it was really a terrible property.
Clean, comfy hotel. The lobby was under construction, but looks like a nice update is on its way. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room had a small outdoor patio attached to it that sat on the open courtyard itself. Pool also looked under construction, but may be closed permanently as we didnt see any mention of it on the website. They do offer a very small simple breakfast in the morning, coffee, tea, OJ, bagel (that you can have toasted), pre-wrapped muffins, and yogurt. Not sure if this is the regular breakfast menu or if its been cut back because of Covid. They did have an attendant there to toast your bagel for you and to keep everything well stocked, and she was super sweet and always working (cleaning, stocking, waiting on people). Rooms were spacious, beds were comfy and overall the hotel was very nice. I do wish they would add better full length mirrors. There are narrow mirrors on the back of the closet doors, which are in a tight space shared with the sink and vanity mirror just outside the bathroom (that houses just a toilet and shower/tub). Just a little too inconvenient. Otherwise we were very happy with the hotel and will probably stay here again.
We had to stay here for 5 days due to being flooded from Hurricane Ida. With all the emotional distress we were already going through, especially with a 17 month old, this place really made us feel safe. The staff was patient, accommodating and empathetic. The rooms were clean and it really felt like a home away from home. Thank you so much for this experience. I will definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice, clean and friendly getaway or emergency.
Stayed here twice in the last week. Half the hotel is under construction and the rooms available to stay in have all been updated, which was much needed and very appreciated. First stay took over 15 minutes to check in (we are lifetime elite but there was only one check in open). Laundry room needs to be cleaned up - we washed clothes there and the washer smelled very mildewy and the dryer took forever to dry. Second stay this week, the front desk did not have any quarters to give us for laundry (1.50 each wash and dry), there were minimal options available in the Market Pantry, and we requested a room fan 3x but it never showed up. The evening staff (we checked in at 8 pm) seemed under trained. Most importantly, the rooms were clean, linens fine, updated bathroom and -minus the fan- we slept great.
Rooms were not readyRooms were not even touched by the maid service ie the beds were not made and towels were not exchanged.Items of ours were not stored when I finished cleaning up therefore others felt it was free for them to take my items. Staff was friendly the first day as they again did not have rooms they had to keep face. They also were helpful in other ways until again it was stated to them a few things that were not so great, the tone of the voices changed. (no maid service, missing items)...and again those rooms rates were extremely high for a Hotel being renovated that was not an active renovation due to the height of the weeds and the pool as well was closed.
We stayed for 5 nights and I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel and the great condition of the room. Everything was well maintained and in great shape. The hotel staff was very friendly. We didn’t hear any noise from neighboring rooms. The beds were comfortable and all the amenities were just what we needed. We had a very nice stay. The breakfast area was closed due to the pandemic, but weve stayed before and this is a great asset to this hotel! We booked our room because of the great breakfast (freshly ordered and cooked eggs on bagels not a buffet or pre-packaged ) Very convenient to have in the lobby.
My friend and I just needed a quick get away for a nite. We checked in, and asked for a recommendation for dinner, the front desk gentleman (sorry forgot his name) gave us an amazing recommendation. He was very polite and pleasant. Room was clean, bed very comfortable. Didnt take advantage of the actual courtyard with chairs, but looked nice. Room had a nice little balcony, and the curtains were black out which made for a wonderful sleep into the morning.
Thank you to Lori and the staff at Courtyard Poughkeepsie for a fantastic experience! Even though the hotel was undergoing renovations, it was clean, and the room was well appointed. Due to covid, there were some restrictions around visiting local attractions and restaurant options. Not being familiar with the area, Lori provided a list of restaurants and made some suggestions (Pastry Garden and Sugar and Spice were awesome!). I checked in on Friday, and had to report an issue with my toilet on Saturday. Lori remembered me, and asked about my plans for the day (I was in the area for a few days of hiking). She made me feel like family. As I was traveling alone, she put me at the back of the hotel, away from the construction so I didnt have to hear the noise, which made me feel appreciated and valued as a customer. The other thing I appreciated, due to covid there were limitations on room cleanings. They only came to your room if you requested it; this was a good way to minimize exposure to others. Im not a complicated traveler, Im pretty neat and dont need a daily room cleaning. I also loved the shower gel (lemon and sage I think?), a most excellent choice!Overall, a really nice place to stay when youre in the area! The hotel is close to a lot of stores and restaurants. Once more attractions open up, Ill be back, and Ill definitely be staying here.Thank you to Lori and her entire staff, you guys were GREAT!!
Hotel is under exterior renovations but the inside desperately needs some cleaning and sprucing up. Hotel looked dated and lacked a nice atmosphere. Better ventilation would help. And some outdoor activity area like a fire pit or putting green turf would be a great addition to the hotel. We came to do apple picking with my family and made it a nice weekend but the hotel lacked a nice ambiance.
From the front desk to housekeeping the employees were on point with every detail and always had a smile. Ive been staying at Marriotts a long time and can say Poughkeepsie Does It Right. That said, management should also be awarded since they are in charge. The rooms were very clean the hallways and lobby were immaculate. The only thing that needs attention are the mattress. They are extremely soft and heard people saying they were sinking and getting back pain. That should be an easy fix to replace.
We were disappointed to arrive after check-in, only to be told that our room was unavailable. We were given a temporary “get ready” room to prepare for a wedding but had to rush since we had to move all of our stuff out before attending the wedding. Our family members were also unable to get into their rooms, preventing us from all getting ready for the wedding together. This room had a broken tv. We were given the correct room after the wedding but moving our luggage in the middle of the night after celebrating was inconvenient.
Great Hotel stay during a weekend in March. Friendly staff, clean room, & great 24hour pantry if you need snacks or toiletries for purchase. I liked how quiet my room was for Solo visit. Pool, fitness, and Restaurant not open, but, maybe by summer. I liked the mini fridge in room. There is nice courtyard. When I return in warmer weather I look forward to sitting out there. There are restaurants close by for more food options.
Excellent customer service by Tiffany and the general manager after having a problem with the tv in my room. They value elite members to the highest extend. And they make sure that you have a good stay. Housekeeping could do a better job with making sure that the rooms are better cleaned because to me, thats a big deal, but besides that, my stay was perfect!!
Despite a wonderful staff the rest of the hotel was terrible. No amenities. Pool closed. Breakfast included kind of a joke. TV in room didnt work. Despite asking for quiet room I had to change rooms in the middle of the night because noise from next room was deafening.
Kudos to Tiffany, on-site manager for resolving a no bed issue for my niece, who was in town for my late husbands Memorial Service and was shorted a bed, after I requested a handicap accessible room for my 94 year old mother in law. Tiffany found an adjoining room at 10:30 PM and was kind enough to comp it, so my niece would have a bed to sleep in. My sister in law told me that she and my mother in law slept comfortably, as did my niece. My nephew, his wife and children had no difficulties and said they slept comfortably in their separate room as well. Thank you Tiffany for making a very difficult day for our family much more bearable.
The room is nice and clean. The room is spacious. The bathroom is new and clean. I like their toiletries. It smell good. Staff is friendly. The garden is beautiful. However, please be aware. They are under construction now. I was woken up by noise at 8 a.m. i didnt expect that to happen.
We were in town to visit Vassar. The hotel was comfortable, clean and convenient. The grab-and-go breakfast was disappointing; very few options and coffee ran out. I stayed at another Courtyard recently where the Bistro was open with full breakfast service and Starbucks coffee, etc. Hotel is under construction but it was not disruptive.
Great stay for our wedding weekend! Clean, newly renovated, and friendly employees. If you are getting married in Poughkeepsie, you should stay here with your wedding party and guests. We were originally booked at a different hotel for my wedding and then they cancelled on us the DAY BEFORE the wedding. But we were lucky to be sent to the Courtyard Marriott. They were so accommodating and the manager was very kind and helped make our wedding weekend special. Thank you for turning a bad situation into a wonderful stay! It was also very close to the Locust Grove Estates for our wedding. There is even a short path right onto the Locust Grove Grounds! This place is a must stay if you are getting married at Locust Grove.
Worst location Ive been to. Ive stayed at multiple hotels in different states by Marriott and Ive never had any problems until this one. Cleaning crew angered me, management is disrespectful and uncooperative when you have an issue. Be sure to take pictures of your room before you leave it at any point! I only stayed for 2 nights and I didnt want cleaning service, I put my do not disturb sign on the outside of the door on the handle before I left for a couple hours. I came back to it being on the inside of my door & my belongings in the bathroom were moved. Will not be staying at this location again.
Although the newly remodeled rooms were lovely, I would wait to stay here until after the front renovations are complete. Very inconvenient. For a Marriott I also expected a better grab & go breakfast, not one I had to pay for. Location not the easiest either; had to go past & turn around, go opposite direction first to leave. Front desk staff was very friendly.
I have stayed at many Marriotts over the years. This weekend we stayed at Courtyard to celebrate my daughters graduation from Marist College. We were greeted by Lori at the front desk. Lori went over and above to get me everything I needed. I was impressed while I was waiting, she would remember guests and ask how their day was. She was a true pleasure and made our experience the best! Thank you LORI!!!!
The suite was very very small and overpriced. There were no sheets for the pull out couch. There was no shampoo in the pump. The hotel was under construction so the pool was unavailable.Marriott’s are always my number 1 choice but this location was a disappointment. It was clean and will look great once renovations are done.
Several problems -- first room, no sound on TV; fixed by having us move to another room. Second room -- TV flaky, I finally traced it to a poor connection of the HDMI cable to cable box. When the staff examined it first, he said We have had lots of problems with these new TVs. Location is not the best; access to from the highway to the hotel parking lot is only from one way. Requires frequent U-turns to go/come from the other direction. Beds are way too soft -- felt like I was sinking into a marshmallow.
The staff was great . Everybody we met from housekeeping, breakfast area and front desk . Appeared as they enjoyed their job and being there. Their demeanor even kept a fun but rowdy group continue to have a fun after party, keeping their other guests comfortableand safe
Construction makes it less appealing but the main issue was the confusion entrances which made locating the main quite a job.At check-in, no one mentioned how to find room or the stairs. Just use entrance D and make a leftRooms are a great size and tidy with enough room to walk about. A sizeable balcony was attached to room.
This was the best hotel stay ever. I explored and made use of every chair, couch, lounger, dining seat. The king suite was spacious and well appointed. All the staff was gracious and genuinely friendly. The food was outstanding and beautifully presented. The cocktails were imaginative and put together creatively. Only disadvantage was the wonderful toiletries affixed to the shower wall shouldve been at the front under the showerhead or on a rear wall. We kept bumping our elbows and shoulders on em.
I arrived at around midnight and the lady at the front desk (unfortunately I cant remember her name)surpassed any expectation. She assisted in giving me the best room available, it was very quiet and conveniently placed near the stairs. She even offered to bring me coffee to my room. The room was perfect! Spacious, great layout, fantastic shower pressure and MOST importantly the most comfortable bed! That and the black out curtains made me wish I could sleep for hours! All the staff were really friendly, even the cleaning lady was lovely. The manager was patient and helpful explaining my bill as some of the night were at different rates. The breakfast was very good, perfect eggs over easy and crispy bacon. Unfortunately did not enjoy the food we ordered in the evening. The lobby is really cool and user friendly. Over all I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel.
Visited Poughkeepsie for President’s Day weekend and stayed at the Courtyard. The hotel and our room were perfect. The entire hotel was renovated over the past year and the exterior is now being renovated. The entire room was nicely furnished and decorated.I especially want to acknowledge Lauri (sp) at the front desk who was most accommodating and cordial.I would recommend the Courtyard without hesitation.
We recently stayed at this place for one night. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The person who helped us, I think her name was Stefani was very professional and helpful in telling us about things to do in the area. We had to make a change to our reservation and she was helpful with that also. Overall, its a nice place to stay and I would consider it for future stay.

The renovations have made this Courtyard a worthy and lovely place to stay in the Hudson Valley. The one thing I really dont get is why they did all this renovation and did not put in a second elevator. No problem for my wife and me, but not great thinking for the physically challenged or people over 75!!
I had such a wonderful stay. The customer service was Excellent. The bed was super comfy! Your toiletries were plentiful and excellent quality. The fridge and the microwave was super helpful. I enjoyed the pool it was so relaxing and heated ! :) my only wish was that I could have stayed longer ! :) Thank you for making my stay so lovely !
We stayed at this hotel this past weekend and it was okay. We were a bit inconvenienced because we were originally supposed to stay in at the Courtyard in Fishkill but our reservation got moved to this location. There is also a considerable amount of renovations happening to the hotel at the moment, and not all of the amenities are available, so the rate seemed a bit steep.
We arrived hoping for a really nice Anniversary trip and the hotel is under major construction and never mentioned this after driving 300 miles with 2 handicapped family members. Only two entrances and have to walk very long hallways with wheelchairs and cane. Check before you come!
Nice and clean. We came in very late and the staff member was very nice and friendly. Room was great, they could use new sleeper sofa mattresses. The restaurant was only open a short time in the am. Since we got in late we only had 10 min. To grab something. We choose to eat out instead. The cost for one entree is what two people ate out that day. I understand convenience cost but that was pretty steep. The pool look fabulous but since we got in late and had to leave we were unable to use it. The housekeeping staff was fabulous as we were leaving they asked if we needed anything for our journey.
The convenience of this hotel to all the places we needed to be was excellent. The staff was very kind and super helpful. The room was one of the cleanest we had the privilege of staying in. I only wish I had more time to use the pool it looked so inviting. I guess if I had to say what I found unsatisfactory was the fact there was not a complimentary breakfast of any kind and the coffee was dark bitter Starbucks and pricey to boot. (As were the breakfast items you could order). We just ended up going to one of the many diners in the area instead. Minus that ... all good!!
Close this place that should be shut until construction is fully complete. It was under construction and there is no lit sign for where to enter, I drove around twice. The pool was closed -- and not due to COVID. They had bland bagels as the only food option in the morning and cold bad coffee. There was nothing to buy and there is no place to go that doesnt require an 8-minute drive. And it wasnt even discounted.
Place has all that is needed. Parking lot around the hotel, so you can get to your room quite fast, granted it is on the ground floor, as there are not so many elevators. Room is clean and just enough for basic needs. Bed is comfortable. There was a little noise from the neighbour room bathroom, but in US most of the hotels are made of wood anyway ;)Breakfast is good, coffe is good. The Internet connection is also good for video calls.Fitness room is below expectations. I have not seen anyone using swimming pool, which is rather small.Rooms are clean, staff is friendly.
I recently stayed at the Poughkeepsie Marriott Courtyard and I can not say enough about how great the service was. I felt like the staff was accommodating my needs before I could completely express what I needed. There was 8-10 inches of snow one day and all the cars were cleaned of all the snow as well as the parking lot and sidewalks. The room and entire hotel were extremely clean. I felt like the staff truly were interested in making my stay a great one. The food was very good and love that they have Starbuckss coffee. The Netflix option in the room was a great feature. I have always liked staying at Marriott hotels and I would highly recommend this hotel
We were there for a quick weekend for my nieces graduation from New Paltz college. The hotel is about 13 miles away but in a good location with stores and restaurants nearby. They were doing alot of construction at the hotel so it was a little hard getting around and finding your way out.
My wife and I stayed in a King/couch room on an overnight. The room was clean and quiet. The mattress was firm and very comfortable. The staff were very prompt and responsive and seemed pleased to serve. The small bar/ bistro looked tempting. Our rate was low considering the quality of the room and property. The location is convenient to colleges or work (if you have a car).!
The hotel looked recently renovated and I was pleasantly surprised by how great it looked. The lobby had a great bar/mini restaurant and was furnished nicely. We had a King Suite and it was laid out nicely and was spacious. The room had a nice patio, newer furnishings and fixtures and a clean, newer bathroom. We had a fantastic breakfast at the bar in the lobby. Great service and really excellent food. I had the avocado toast board and it was outstanding. The only glitch was that our room was not ready when we arrived at 5pm. It only took about 20 minutes to fix the situation and the staff was helpful.
Right up front, Courtyard is not my favorite Marriott property. For the money, you get more from others in the chain--and we like Marriott properties. No complimentary coffee in the lobby, for example. Most of the chains we stay in have that, even very upscale hotels. Courtyard expects you to buy expensive Starbucks brand coffee that is NOT from a real Starbucks--just in a thermal pot of brewed coffee. They do not have a real restaurant, but sell food that costs like a real restaurant--I bought a grilled cheese/tomato soup entree with a glass of house wine and it was over $20. but it was all just warmed up.The room was fairly comfortable and the staff were very friendly. We had been on the road for over a week and I used the laundry facilities--the room was clean. It was a $1.50 to wash and about 3.00 to dry, but that was standard on our trip everywhere. The room had a nice little balcony with a sliding door that included a screen door. It was very cool and rainy that evening and it was really nice to listen to the rain and feel the cool breeze from outside. Getting outside air is a rarity at a hotel these days.Breakfast is way over priced and again they just mostly warm up things. We ate in a neighborhood diner for much less than half the price we would have paid at the hotel--and the food was really good.Again, we had a decent room and friendly service. I just do not do a Courtyard unless I have to.
The staff is truly amazing. Ive stayed here several times for a weekend getaway and everyone Ive encountered is absolutely wonderful, courteous and friendly. The lobby looks great and rooms are always very clean. Cant ask for anything else. Theres a young man, I cant remeber his name, but hes the Operations manager. Hes extremely friendly and make you feel welcoming. Thank you.
We came to stay the night before dropping our daughter at college. We found the place fine, there was plenty of free parking. There were plenty of restaurants and shops that are reasonably priced and we took advantage. The room was comfortable, clean and modern. The bathroom was clean and nice. The water pressure was good. They use nice shampoos and soaps also. The balcony was nice and the view spectacular! The staff is friendly and helpful, even the maintenance crew walking around the property fixing things!!! We loved our stay and will definitely stay here again!!!
My husband and I booked this room so that we can attend our daughters college orientation. I was surprised at how stylish the hotel was and the location was great. Every staff member that we encountered was very friendly and extremely helpful. The cost of the room was a little pricey but it was worth it. Will definitely come back.
From the minute we walked in to the minute we walked out we were treated like valued guests. Every staff member was polite, professional and accommodating. The lobby was very comfortable and had lots of semi-private spaces to have small meetings or just hang out with your computer, tablet, etc. There is also a small office-like area where there are computers and printers available for the guests. Our room was super clean, had lots of space and the bathroom set-up is wonderful. The bed was so comfortable! We slept so well and we didn’t hear a sound from outside the room. I am a very light sleeper and this was the best!We will be staying at this hotel each time we visity this area. Fantastic!
Absolutely loved everything about the hotel my only complaint was the breakfast was sad even though it was delicious the grab and go breakfast was sad compared to what we usually get at the Marriott and I’m very honest but seriously if I could copy paste your hotel or clone it to several other places that we’ve stopped in recent months I would be the happiest woman in the world
The lobby is modern and very nice. The check in person was friendly and helpful. However, I called to ask a question a week before my stay, and I talked to a woman who was not friendly at all. The room was large yet outdated. The sink is not in the bathroom. The pillows were too soft. My room was cold enough for my liking, but my aunts room was too warm for her. Check out was very easy.
I would not have chosen this hotel based on the exterior, which looks more like a motel. However, it is very close to the Culinary Institute, so my team from work stayed there during a recent trip. Once you get inside, however, the lobby is nicely updated and modern. The rooms have been updated, beds are comfortable and the property is very clean and maintained. The bar is very nice and the staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. Overall, I would recommend and would also stay here again. If you stay here, venture up the road to Rhinebeck for dinner or drinks. A very pretty town with lots of restaurants, bars and shops.
People were nice, room was clean. My only issue was not being offered any breakfast or coffee (the small coffee machine in the room doesnt make it). There is a Starbucks stand who offered very limited food choices and coffee for a premium price. This is the only hotel I have stayed at, that I can remember, that offered nothing as part of our stay. If this issue is not important to you, then you will enjoy your stay.
Overnight escape from NY and life. As Marriott and AAA member got a very good price booking directly. Always a bit apprehensive on good pricing but very satisfied with outcome. For the category, room clean, well appointed, bed very comfortable, and shower was excellent. Hot, great pressure and great fixture (wish I had same at home). Plenty of space in room, quiet, everything worked as intended. Generic wi-fi seemed plenty fast enough but used very lightly. Pool fine but no jacuzzi, locker room or showers.
Have stayed 5-6 times over past year and have not been disappointed. Front desk staff are warm, welcoming and are expert in getting you in and settled. The breakfast staff at the bistro are top notch and make for a great start to the day. Rooms are very clean, well appointed and spacious. Well be back!
My family was very disappointed in this hotel stay. Usually, we enjoy staying at a Courtyard Marriott but this one was under total construction and the most disappointing aspect of it was that we were not informed ahead of time. We had trouble finding the hotel because there was no hotel sign due to construction! We drove right by! The food service area was closed, the main entrance was closed.Very disappointed
Quiet and clean with a friendly, helpful staff, especially Fiona and Ruth! Perfect choice for families, couples or solos, reasonably priced, terrific location. FYI, there is no parking near the lobby entrance but if you know this ahead of time, you can just check in and then drive to the entrance closest to your room (parking is ample and free). Food is fresh and tasty but no lunch; also the hours could be a bit extended (breakfast stops serving at 9:30 am and dinner ends at 10 pm which is a bit early if youve gone out for the evening). An hour later, for each, would be perfect. Very positive experience; really no complaints!
This staff was the friendliest, most accommodating I have run into in years of business and personal travel. The hotel was beautifully decorated, modern and perfectly clean and maintained. Room comfort was fantastic as well. I would organize future travel in this area to return to this hotel, and highly recommend it to business and personal travellers.
The room was very clean. The Bistro in the lobby had good food and a good selection - very handy. The pool is small, but clean and nice. The courtyard is lovely. Lots of parking. But the best thing by far was the staff. Every single one of them was just as nice as could be - helpful, friendly - couldnt have been any better.
Stayed at the Poughkeepsie Courtyard Marriott recently for a brief get-away in the Mid-Hudson Valley. Despite a surprise snowstorm that affected the area, the Marriott parking lot was sufficiently plowed and the hotel ready to accommodate our needs. The location is near to many mid-Hudson attractions, as well as the Galleria Mall. The room was clean and comfortable. The in-lobby cafe was delightful. The food and staff were excellent. If you are a fan of a good Old Fashioned, I highly recommend the bar here. Would definitely stay here again.
I often stay at Marriott properties. This one was especially nice. Pool was sparkling clean. Fitness center has convenient hours and a good variety of equipment. Our room was very quiet. All of the staff were friendly and professional. We ate at the Bistro to save some time, and were more than happy with the food quality.
I was in Poughkeepsie for a wedding and I saw this hotel had good reviews and it was also only a 5 to 10 minute drive from the venue. Upon check in I found the staff were courteous and quick. The rooms were clean and looked like they were updated recently. The bed was comfortable as well. Checking out was a breeze and again the staff were courteous.
Great for this class of property. Clean, comfortable, everything up-to-date and in good working order. Bed very comfortable, room good size. Location very good for Poughkeepsie area attractions. Everything it is supposed to be which is tourist class, not luxury. NB: We stayed at this property a couple of years which is how we knew to look into it this trip.
This was probably one of the cleanest and quietest hotels Ive stayed at. The mattress was comfortable. The only drawbacks were that a small pull away makeup mirror was available in the bathroom and that the pillows were firmer. There was a bistro in the lobby which served hot meals including breakfast, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. Would highly recommend this place to travelers.
The Courtyard Poughkeepsie provides everything I need and nothing I dont. The room was comfortable, with a sliding door that allows access to the verandah (and also allows in fresh air). The breakfast was delicious, and we appreciated both the bar in the evening and the ability to purchase a beer or wine at the small market after the bar was closed. The staff are all excellent and attended to everything that we needed in a friendly way. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
The hotel service was exceptional. The staff went over and beyond to provide special attention amidst the blizzard. I was displaced as a mandated healthcare worker in need to report to the hospital. The staff reassured me that I would get to work and made sure they provided assistance in getting my vehicle out. Lori made rounds in the the lobby providing reassurance to all guest. Great service!! I couldnt have been at a better place during such a stressful time. As a healthcare professional I was mandated and the staff went above and beyond!! Great job!!
Very disappointed with this particular Marriott. Booked a room here for 2 nights at a cost of $350, selected this hotel over others I had used in the area in the past as they had an indoor pool. Unfortunately the pool was broken during our stay. Also door F was not working so we had to walk around the building to main entrance to get in and then walk several hallways to get back to our room, not convenient. There is a bistro in the hotel but with such limited hours it was never open when I was present. I never did get to tell the front desk that the toilet did not flush unless you took the tank lid off and pulled the chain inside, as I was so angry about being woken up before 8 am by housekeeping who seemed to believe my room had been vacated or at least that is what I was told. After all of the frustration the young gentlemen at the front desk offered to give me points on our membership but must have forgotten as that never happened either. All in all I would not recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to enjoy their vacation time. We stayed at many hotels the last few weeks on our summer road adventure, this Marriott I would not return to. But I would not hold it against other Marriotts I have stayed at in the past that have met expectations, just appears to be some poor management here.
I stayed two nights in the courtyard poughkeepsie and it suited my needs but probably would not choose for longer stay as it’s amenities are slim and the trek to the lobby and elevators from rooms was lengthy, especially when trying to just get a cup of coffee or bring luggage to your room. the hotel is clean and comfortable. available food is minimal, have had better choices at other marriott courtyards.
The Hotel Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean. The beds were to soft resulting in poor nights sleep. The hotel room was noisy because it backed up to the parking lot, which seemed to be very busy. Must request a room that backs up to the courtyard to avoid noise from the lot. There was a lot of activity in the lobby hall way which was very easy to hear. This also was an issue with sleep.
My stay was 100% . All staff from the check-in , at the Bistro and check -out were extremely pleasurable and professional. The cleanliness was amazing as well. I look forward to my next visit and highly recommend. Keep up the good work and Congratulations to all!!BestAngela W
One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. For the amount that we paid, not worth it. The rooms were completely outdated, there was no mini fridge in the room, we paid for a king and received a queen instead although the hotel said there were no queens on premesis. Very dark and dingy looking. The check in took a while even though we had checked in online because there was no one at the desk for a good 2-3 minutes. Then the attendant couldn’t find our rooms key because he couldn’t find the letter to our last name. The walls were of paper because we could hear everything from the hallway in our room, very bothersome when we were trying the sleep in, in the morning. The food smelled terrible in the lobby, only nice thing in the lobby was the fake fireplace that they had going. The full size mirror was extremely thin, inside the closet door so you couldn’t have the door open and use the sink (right behind the closet door) at the same time. All in all, was a terrible stay and would not ever recommend this hotel to anyone, not worth the amount that was paid for the room.
Overall my 2 week stay at the Courtyard Marriott was a good one. I thought the price of the food at the Bistro and lobby was priced a bit high. This caused me to to out for food several evenings. The room was comfortable and met my needs. I did not take advantage of the daily room cleaning service because I preferred that my papers not be moved around but it was easy to get replacement towels etc., when needed.
My family stayed here this weekend. Being titanium elite we were upgraded to a suite before we even arrived. This was greatly appreciated by my wife and I considering we have an infant we were traveling with. Once we arrived we found our suite to be large and clean. The bistro at the lobby was very good for not being a full fledged restaurant. Between our nights our room was never cleaned even after we called to remind them int he afternoon. This is a courtyard and nothing more than that.
My family and I stayed for two nights while attending a family wedding. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, our room was spotless and quiet, the grounds were nicely kept, and the food in The Bistro was very good. An extra thank you to the very nice housekeeper who noticed we looked lost while looking for our room and immediately offered to help.
The bed was comfortable. It would have been nice to have a microwave, especially since breakfast was not provided with the room. The temperature of the room was hard to control. When it got to the preset temperature it would click over and start blowing cold air, so we would have to get up and turn it off and then it would get cold and we would have to get up and turn it back on. I am not really a pool type person, but a hot tub would have been wonderful. It was actually a boring two days spent doing business in the morning and hanging out in the room the rest of the time.
Overall the stay was ok. Dont stay in a room next to the stairwell or elevator. Noisy.breakfast service was friendly, but so slow. Be prepared to wait!Front desk staff that greeted us upon check in were so pleasant and accommodating. The staff memeber at check out was rude and nasty. The manger was pleasant and handled our request.Hotel is clean, rooms are small, with comfortable beds.Over all a good place for a short stay.
The staff was pleasant and accommodating, but overall, I did not feel that I received my moneys worth based on what my husband and I paid for the room. We really did not get anything more out of our stay in terms of room size, amenities, than if we had stayed at a cheaper hotel.
Booking a block of rooms for my wedding was a nightmare- we got mixed answers from multiple staff members. We finally got in contact with one team member that we were told would handle all our concerns- but that team member wouldn’t answer calls or emails for days/weeks with time sensitive information . Our guests were told there were no more rooms- when I was told otherwise. I had bags made up for my guest that were staying at the hotel. A ton of them didn’t receive them- some were even told there were none left. I have about 15 leftover that I had to taken back home with me. The only positive thing I had to say about the hotel was that it was conveniently located next to my venue and I didn’t have to get transportation for my guests.
My stay was fine. We asked for extra towels and we got them - the housekeeping staff was super helpful and awesome. On the other hand....My girlfriends aunt was also staying in this hotel at the same time and she did not have a good stay. We were all in Poughkeepsie for a memorial for my girlfriends father - her aunts brother. She was on the first floor (on the other side from where I was staying) and in the very early hours of the morning (2 am?) people were in the hallway being very loud and cursing repeatedly. She called the front desk to complain and they said there was nothing they could do about it. Im not sure why they couldnt take care of the noise.Im still a Marriot (silver?) member (after some years of mega travel where I always stayed at Marriott and was Platinum) and Im always going to stay at Marriotts when I can. Across the board, the service has almost always been super excellent, but based upon my girlfriends aunts experience, Id have a hard time recommending the Poughkeepsie Courtyard in particular.
This hotel hit the sweet spot for us -- had everything we needed and the quality was very good.Convenient for touring the Hyde Park historic sites. The Bistro worked out well for breakfast, and I particularly liked the rounded booth table we chose.Staffers were gracious and extending. We would happily return.
Went to this hotel as it is close to some colleges in Hyde Park as I had stayed there for a graduation for my child. The staff is most accommodating. The hotel is clean and bright. They have a restaurant there with very good food if you dont feel like venturing out. They serve breakfast thru lynch as well as cocktails if you need one. I would highly recommend this place.
The lobby was clean. It was convenient that they served breakfast there. Kids used the pool which was great. Room was nice and spacious. We were there to visit SUNY New Paltz. Was about 25 mins away. Plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby.Only thing didnt like was the pump shampoos and conditioners...obviously not a big deal.
When we entered our room, we found that the TV had a visibly smashed screen. As if someone had thrown something at it. We immediately notified the front desk, who seemed like theyd known about the issue and placed us in a new room. While their speed to give us a new room was appreciated, it was confusing as to why they would knowingly place us in a room with damaged property. We were traveling for a wedding and the amenities were not good for our purpose. There was one thin full-length mirror in the room, no magnifying mirror, and the mirror by the sink was not well lit. The hair dryer was old and dirty. The in-room iron emitted black debris onto our clothes when we used it. In addition, the walls were paper thin... we had no expectation of privacy for conversations we had in the room, as we could hear conversations in the hall and other rooms. The room smelled strongly of industrial cleaner, though the room did not appear to be especially clean. We returned to to hotel around midnight from the wedding we attended. The bar/starbucks/bistro was not open. Just an FYI for travelers: there is not opportunity to eat or drink late night at this hotel. Another FYI: this hotel has one elevator and a winding layout - dont bring your luggage into the lobby for check-in. When we checked in, we were told to get back into our car with our luggage and drive around to another entrance to get to our room. Overall, I wouldnt recommend staying here. It did not hold up to the quality of our usual Courtyard Marriott experience.
Great place to stay except for the very small beds - husband & I are average sized people but could not both fit in one bed. The bed was very comfortable otherwise. Also, be aware that the food area closes at 9:30 am. We got in late & with the time change even later for us, so we got no food or coffee for sleeping in.
We reserved a block or rooms for our wedding because of the proximity to our wedding venue. Even though its an older property, the hotel is extremely well maintained, has updated interiors, and a lovely/attentive staff. They made our stay effortless and enjoyable and it was conveniently close to Locust Grove so guests could even walk back and forth on the foot path and avoid having to drive the day of. They were so sweet and even sent up a bottle of champagne and chocolates to our suite. I would definitely recommend this hotel if youre having a wedding nearby!!!
This is the second time we stayed at this hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and big and the bathrooms are good. The grounds are kept nicely and there are many places to sit and relax. The pool is nice but it is cold. It would be better if they heated it.
Service was friendly and helpful from the evening we arrived to our departure the next morning. Entire facility from lobby to sleeping room was high-class without being stuffy. Great business center in lobby area. Wonderful place to have breakfast. Room was clean, and bed was comfortable.
My 2 daughters and I raced into Poughkeepsie to evaluate college, so our stay was short.....but... the room was excellent - 2 queens in one room and I on the sleeper in Living Room (excellent value); the bathroom was a bit small in relation to the suite, but it worked; room was very clean and beds comfortable; lots of food options in the area - travel with a vegan provides its own challenges; location was great for our purposes.
This hotel has balconies - so as one can imagine, you get slapped in the face with the lovely scent of stale cigarettes when you walk into the room! I had the room changed 3 times and finally just gave up, would not recommend this hotel for non-smokers. Will never stay here again! But I will state the staff did their very best to accommodate me, but this was beyond their control.
My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard in Poughkeepsie and took advantage of the internet, fitness center, and dining facility on premises. The staff is highly professional and very courteous, the property is modern/up-to-date and functions very well. The rooms are comfortable and modern, with nice bathrooms, great beds, and flat panel televisions. Overall we had a great stay and we look forward to our next visit.
This Marriott is the best weve stayed at so far. Comfortable beds, quiet, the curtains block out the light (no light leak), staff is friendly. Upon arriving they gave us two complimentary bottles of water - a nice touch. The room was big (we got a double) and the bathroom is off to the side for complete privacy. We were escaping NYC and this was a nice get away.
I love the Marriott experience. We can always count on a comfortable bed and a nice clean room. We have been Reward Members for too many years to remember and our only comment is we do not like the new decor that many of this hotel chain are going to. The modern design is cold and does not give off the warm cozy welcoming feel we had associated with Marriotts. It will not keep us from coming, but we miss the old design. We really prefer the warm wood colors and comfortable lobby chairs not the modern lines that are not near as comfortable. That is just our preference anyways.
If staying in the Hyde Park / Poughkeepsie area to see the sights this hotel was very convenient to many historic sights. There were many restaurants near by to choose from when your looking for a place to eat.The hotel itself was a excellent value. The rooms were very clean and very spacious. The entire staff were very friendly and seemed to do their jobs well.I would highly recommend this hotel on the price and comfort. I look forward to staying there again.
The room was nice. The lobby was very modern and welcoming. Staff was great. Wasnt too happy about the paper thin walls between the rooms. I couldnt sleep all night the first night due to all the noise they were making next door. The following night I took NyQuil and slept like a baby.
We recently stayed at the Courtyard Poughkeepsie while attending the Accepted Student Program at Marist College. The hotel offers a discounted rate for Marist families, which is much appreciated. It is a short, easy drive from the campus. The hotels lobby is very inviting and offers a bistro for your breakfast and dinner needs. The rooms are quiet, very clean, and offer comfortable beds. The staff is friendly and accommodating.
We could not be more satisfied with our recent stay @ Courtyard Poughkeepsie! We were initially greeted by two delightful and competent young ladies who made us feel welcome from the start. Our room was ready upon early arrival and we found it to be clean, comfortable and adjacent to parking. The hotel was convenient to our wedding venue (staff even alerted us to a short-cut!) and other necessities (gas, restaurants, stores). Every aspect of our stay was positive!
We spent over $4800 at this hotel from July 27-29, 2018 for a family vacation and the service was terrible, the desk clerk couldn’t barley speak English, They put a extra $45 hold on our bank cards that we know nothing about it Until we return home. We couldn’t get in touch with the planner, She never called us back after we called several times and left messages, So unprofessional!!! The grass around the building needed cutting, only one trash can in the rooms, They assured us that all the rooms would be together, when we got there the rooms wasn’t all together, some of our family rooms were on the opposite side. These people are so unprofessional!!! Our first time And our Last!!! If you wanted a microwave in the rooms you had to request one, Who does that????
I enjoyed my stay here. I especially love that there is a small resturant and bar as well as a little store for your convenience..so you do not need to go out if you do not want to. I also loved the fact that they now provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers inside the showers. The staff is very nice and polite.
The Courtyard by Marriott in Poughkeepsie is one of the best hotels in the area. The staff is professional, yet warm & welcoming. The food is always fresh & suitable for breakfast & evening snacks or meals. We would highly recommend staying at this hotel when in this area! We actually have referred to it as our country place!
The outside of the hotel looks a bit dated, however, the inside makes up for it. The inside looks recently renovated or at least within the last 5 years. The only issue I had with the hotel was a leaky shower head, other than that, the value was decent and I had a clean room with a comfy bed.
The Courtyard by Marriott in Poughkeepsie is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Poughkeepsie. The rooms are spotless, the bed and linens are crisp and clean and very comfortable. The rooms are spacious and offer all of the amenities one needs when traveling and needing to have some of the comforts of home. Marriotts are always my first choice, when they are booked during my visits, I have had to stay at other hotel chains in the Hudson Valley in the past. None compare to the comfort and amenities offered by Marriott!
There was a brown substance on the bathroom door which easily wiped off. There also was an ice cream cup in the freezer portion of the mini fridge. These things made me feel like the room wasnt thoroughly cleaned. Other than that, my stay was good. Check in was speedy & the bed was comfortable.
Received the expected Marriott Experience - and thats a good thing. We are brand loyal as we find Marriott properties meet all our expectations; no unwelcome surprises 99% of the time. The Courtyard Poughkeepsie is a fine property well run. For guests, though, be aware there are a lot of steps to climb - the only elevator is in the far corner of the hotel. If you park near your room, you will most likely be climbing stairs frequently. That didnt matter to us, but it might to some; if you need elevator access, request a room in the back.
I need to travel to Poughkeepsie 2-3 weeks a month and have had many extended stays at the Courtyard Poughkeepsie. All of the staff including the housekeepsers are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and have everything you need. A comfortable bed, large closet with plenty of hangers, a quiet refrigerator, a great view, a coffee maker with everything you need, a great desk to work on and a table on wheels if you feel like eating in the comfy chair in the corner of the room or the edge of your bed. I definitely recommend Courtyard Marriott Poughkeepsie. So close to shopping, eating and entertainment. Its a great place!
I thought the breakfast service and quality and options were outstanding. A very nice surprise!!We were also very pleased that it was so easy to quickly use our rewards points to pay for our room.Forgot to mention that we were very disappointed that the beds were full size rather than queen....way too small for two people. Thanks for meeting our needs!
Far off the interstate, asks for tips for your grab and go breakfast, dont ask the front desk anything since they dont anything and make up things. No service doesnt mean they wont wake you up at 8 am to see if you want service even though you are told to call the night before. Not worth the rate
I liked the room, bed comfort, light isolation, cleanliness and staff performance. There’s a design flaw in the rooms though. The door in between adjoining room transmitted sound very clearly. I was woken up by the sound of the guest next door on the phone a couple of times.
Stayed here while enjoying New Paltz just across the river. The hotel is a nice spot to settle down at night - the bed was very comfortable, big screen tv, first floor with nice sliding patio door. Appreciate the mini fridge and microwave in the room - always a bonus for late night reheating left-overs. Location to New Paltz is great - just 15 minutes over the bridge although Poughkeepsie has interesting things of her own to offer. Would consider staying again if they assure me the bathroom sink will drain properly and the shower has more pressure than a gentle rain. Enjoyable, fair (slightly high) price for the area.
The room Im in smells like a locker room. The light takes too long to turn on so I have to wait on it when I first step in the room. The cafe they have is way over priced. No free breakfast or coffee. I like the Residence Inn much better but they are remodeling and have bad fumes at this time. The good news is the Courtyard will be remodeling next year.
They must have received the same “water system upgrade” as the Spring Hill Marriott i stayed at in NC last week. Same new shower head with no water pressure (used to be fine) and barely warm temp set all the way to hot. Also no lotion. Just pump shampoo, etc in shower. This one had no bar soap. I was a Platinum member, now Gold Elite. Holiday Inn doesn’t have these issues. It’s sad. I loved the Marriott line.
Overall cleanliness throughout with all the amenities you need in a hotel property.Having a restaurant next door that is walking distance was key to our decision to stay at this property. The Marriot properties need to have restaurants located near their properties. The last thing that a traveler wants to do is get back in their car and look for a place to have dinner.Very Friendly staff and the layout of the hotel was good since I had a room close to the lobby.
My wife and I attended a four day course at the Culinary Institute of America, and we could not have been more pleased with our hotel experience at this hotel. The room was large (we stayed in a suite) and clean, internet service was fast, and the staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel was only about 6 miles down the road from the Culinary Institute of America and this was one of the reasons for choosing it, and my wife and I could not have been happier regarding our stay.
The Hotel is very quiet, close to businesses, colleges, and shopping. The staff is very friendly. The food and beverage selection could be improved. The last morning there we had a considerably long wait for breakfast because 2 weddings were at the hotel the previous evening. The hotel should have had extra help knowing the morning would be busy since the wedding guests received a breakfast voucher.
The bed was uncomfortable. The sundries area was near empty. Some of the staff was helpful the rest were mediocre. The breakfast bar was fine I did not get to use the bar in the evening or the meals in the evening but it looked nice and it seem to have a lot of people there. The towels are old and dingy and to me that is a huge turn off.
The air quality in the room was horrible, the hbo go and showtime was continuous buffering, so I didn’t get finish any of the movies. The ceiling in the bathroom had black spots, possibly mold. The shower and tub combo was not that good it keep clogging. But the water pressure was excellent.
Overpriced for what you get, especially having no room service. The tv didn’t work, sink was clogged and the housekeepers and most of the front desk staff was rude. My wife was told her request was weird to her face for asking for a couple of glasses and some silverware because she can’t eat off of plastic. Because there was no room service, the front desk staff had to bring items asked for and sometimes didn’t come at all. I don’t plan on being back unless things change. I’m not sure if it’s under new management or what, but this stay was a lot different than other times me and my wife have stayed in the past. Gotta find a new place to stay next time we are in NY.
We enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard by Marriott while visiting the Woodstock Farm Sanctuary and the Roosevelt Presidential Library. The location was nice (several grocery stores near by) and the staff friendly. The rooms have a small fridge and ours had a balcony. One downside to warn about: all the bathroom products contain tea tree oil. If youre allergic, bring your own shampoo, conditioner and buddy wash. Its a common allergy, so the tea tree oil was a disappointment.
Checking into the Poughkeepsie Marriott was easy and fast and needed after a long day of driving. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Senka greeted us upon our very late arrival and was pleasant and helpful. I always use the Courtyard Marriott and will come back again.
Nicer Courtyard, older model design (one elevator at back corner). Good parking, Bistro lobby. Very nice staff. Very clean, comfortable but could use updating to current Courtyard decor. Fridge in every room. Very convenient to hospitals, restaurants, IBM, walkway over the Hudson, train station.
Reserved a room for a place to end our night out on the town. Great location just outside the City of Poughkeepsie. Five minute ride to train station and night life. Hotel was clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. Later checkout time (noon) was helpful after a night out as well. Definitely recommend this hotel if youre in town for business or leisure.
Booked 20 rooms for my sons Medieval themed wedding across the street at Locust Grove/Samuel Morse Mansion and Museum. Accommodations were great and the staff was super helpful in all regards. This is a great place to stay as a home base if you are visiting the Harlem Valley/Hudson Valley area. Rooms were spacious and clean. Close to Hyde park and other tourist destinations as well and the area is just beautiful!
The location of the hotel is a bit tricky to get to. Everything in this town seems to be one way. The bed was a bit hard for my taste but the pillows are nice and comfy. Size of room is great for the business traveler and you can stay at the hotel to eat if you want.
The talent at Courtyard Poughkeepsie consistently delivers a warm and welcoming stay. Spotless and modern, with a thoughtful floor plan, the hotel provides the best accommodations in the area. From start to finish, the front desk through breakfast at the bistro, we were treated with the consideration and care of a familiar visit to friends. We have stayed several times and this is a genuine hallmark of the folks at this Courtyard. We look forward to our next visit.
We have stayed here several times and are always very pleased with the service and accommodations. The lobby is lovely and the food is terrific. I do wish there was afternoon service at the counter but they did at least have a little market with premise sandwiches and other offerings.
I am a gold member who has stayed in a lot of Marriott hotels. My family and I were mistreated, disrespected, and yelled at by your staff member. I made a complaint to the manager David on the same day we were there. I also complained to the staff at the counter on the same day. But no one really cares. I reserved 3 rooms and were there from 2am - 9:10am and then left the place. We were there for a total of 7 hours because we did not want to come back to that place. Spent over $500 also. I can assure that you will not find me booking another room in Marriott even if I lose my gold status. Ive already booked hotel room for my next trip (as I travel for work) and it was not with Marriott. The disgusting attitude that I experienced at this Poughkeepsie hotel will deter me from booking another hotel with you.
Have stayed here before and it keeps getting better!Great value. Large Clean and Bright modern rooms! Awesome pool, food , location and the staff is very friendly and helpful!Convenient location! Took the train to NYC and stayed in Poughkeepsie Marriott and saved a bundle!
We stayed overnight for a wedding. The hotel was overall very clean, good service, and provided the basic needs we required. We ate breakfast out; we miss the standard included continental breakfast instead of paying at a hotel restaurant. But I had no other complaints.
We arrived late afternoon of NY Eve. We had an efficient check in, the food area wasnt open but the woman who checked us in ran over and made us each a cup of coffee or capuchino. We got good directions to the event we were going toThe Room was comfortable, temperature was easily controlled.Bathroom was clean and adequate .Check out was quick.
Clean room and newly remodeled. Room was a bit noisy with a screaming child next door all night and people walking up and down halls 6:00am-8:00am so sleeping in was difficult. Our car was hit in the parking lot over night. I realize thats my problem.hotel is the nicest you will find in Poughkeepise. Very close to anything you need. Staff was wonderful!
We were in the area to attend a comedy show in the center of town. We decided to stay 10 minutes outside town at the Courtyard because we typically know that Courtyards are reliable - clean, pleasant, fitness center, modern. We were not disappointed at all! A quick Lyft ride into and back from town was a no brainer for a wonderful experience at the Courtyard. We will continue to use Courtyards!
I found the hotel clean but dated.I was disappointed with treatment at the front desk over my reservation and member status. The food in the hotel was satisfactory considering it isnt a full service restaurant. It was very inconvient with 1 elevator in the back of the building.
This hotel is wonderful if you cherish cleanliness, comfort, peace & quiet. The staff will do the utmost to make your stay a very pleasant one. They are friendly, professional and extremely helpful. We stay at this hotel every time we visit Hyde Park and recommend it very highly.
The Poughkeepsie Marriott is a clean, relaxing hotel. I found the room nicely decorated with a comfy bed and pillows to have a good nights sleep on. The bonus of this location is they have a really nice courtyard with comfortable sofas, chairs and tables with umbrellas to relax in. Another nice surprise was a balcony with two chairs and a table off the bedroom.I was in town for the Country Living Fair at the Dutches Fair Grounds and will defiantly stay at the Poughkeepsie Marriott when I am out for next years fair.

2022-06-21We went to stay there for a wedding over the weekend. The room we had was newly renovated and was very clean. Very nice shower with glass doors, not a shower curtain. The bed was firm and AC worked perfectly! The lobby was nice with comfortable seating, tv screens, fire place and a view of their green space/garden(?)They didnt have the restaurant available but had snacks and microwaveable food. There are a lot of restaurants in the area for takeout or delivery. Would definitely stay there again!

2022-05-15The reception staff was fantastic, very welcoming and even got us an early check-in. The room itself was tidy, clean, the bed comfortable and the shower was fabulous. However, very, very, very thin walls. I could here our neighbours conversations and was woken up early by them after attending a wedding! Also, was disappointed that they did not come to make the beds during our stay or carry out any cleaning of the room. The location is fine, as with a lot of America it would have been better to have a car but Ubers did work there. It was a basic hotel, there is one cafe that is only open for breakfast but there is a small shop and there are places to eat in the neighbouring areas. For the price I would have expected a little more, but was an OK stay and there were definitely no showstoppers.

2022-07-08Been a long time Marriott member and fan. I’ve stayed here 3 times too many. Each time I’ve regretted it, with two stays during understandable Covid interrupted renovations. But when you have guests still paying the $170 a night step up your game and do little things better. Friendlier staff, bottomless offerings of water, voucher for a Starbucks, complimentary fruit. None of it but unwelcoming and uncomfortable stay overs. Room keys don’t work, mobile keys don’t work, toilets don’t flush, staff is totally unmotivated, unapologetic and it only enhances the irritating nature of your stay. Way too many options available to business travels in this area. There won’t be a 4th stay here.

2022-03-203.5 star hotel. The rooms were nice but you couldnt walk in the courtyard during the winter and the pool wasnt open plus the walls are thin. I heard the couple next to me yell at there kids all night

2022-06-05Accidentally left my watch on the table when I left for check out. When I realized my mistake, I returned to pick it up. Unfortunately, the cleaning staff had already gone through the room and my watch was magically missing. I know exactly where I left it and unfortunately it seems to have made it into the pocket of someone on staff.

2021-10-29Construction is ongoing, but staff was very helpful in navigating the property with the construction and closed entrances. I stayed in a recently renovated room and had a pleasant stay! New bedding and pillows were comfortable, heater was quiet, renovated bathroom was nice and clean. Didnt eat in the hotel since many food options are in the area, but I would definitely recommend and plan on staying here again!

2021-11-22The room was really nice. Liked the bathroom set up, although toilet was extremely low. If I were going to stay more than the one night would have asked for handicapped room. Staff were very helpful. Our TV would not work. After 2 different workers couldnt fix it, we were offered a room change. We declined since we had plans for evening and an early check-out. Facility is undergoing renovations on the pool but it did not impact our stay.

2021-10-19My stay at the Courtyard in Poughkeepsie was phenomenal. The room was immaculate, the location was perfect, and the price was extremely reasonable. I was coming in for a wedding and was even allowed to check in hours ahead of when my schedule 3:00pm check-in was. The staff members that both did the arrival and departure were courteous and knowledgeable. The whole experience at the Courtyard was a positive one through and through.5 Comfortable Stars out of 5!

2021-10-11This location has been recently renovated. The rooms are clean and nice. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was fantastic. The hotel was quiet. Over the weekend nobody vacuums the hallways or cleans the rooms so that hallways were pretty messy by the end of the weekend. The grab and go breakfast was joke! A bagel in a bag and a yogurt and boxed juice with terrible coffee. Ugh.

2021-09-20We came for a wedding and were very comfortable throughout the stay. i cant say much for the amenities or food since we didnt use them. the hotel was in great condition: felt new, extremely clean, modern. the staff were very helpful and easy to find. they helped us move to a different room upon request as well.
