DO NOT STAY HERE if you’re going to show at the Capitol Theater. Night watchman is completely unreasonable and power hungry. There were 20 parties happening throughout the hotel, people dancing in the hallways, passed out drunk, etc. The night watchman decided to single out my friends room, we were sitting having drinks with a Bluetooth speaker (just like 20 other rooms). Not playing beer pong or fighting. Capricia decided to kick us out at 2am, knocked on the door and told us we had to leave. We thought she was joking. Got the cops involved (who agreed she was being unreasonable). We were all drunk after a night of drinking and she wanted us off the property. Are we supposed to now drive drunk? Completely irresponsible and negligent of a person in charge of watching over a hotel. We’re all adults, if she told us to quite down we would have. We were not talked to or given a warning. We’re disgusted by her actions and will be filing a formal complaint with Marriott. Capricia should be ashamed of herself.
Our wedding was at Whitby Castle in Rye so this hotel was very convenient for us. We were able to smoothly book a block of rooms for our hotel guests. The staff even upgraded our room to a complicated suite for our wedding night! We really enjoyed this as the place for our wedding night and our guests enjoyed their stay too.
Staff was great. Nice staff at check in. Had long stay scheduled cleaning of room no problem, on last day ran into wonderful cleaning lady who asked me if I wanted room cleaned, that was much appreciated. Disappointed restaurant had only breakfast. Why not open for lunch and dinner. as a business traveler it would have made things more accommodating. However, there is a nice choice of restaurants in proximity, Port Chester as well as Rye.. Gym and pool closed, completely understood as Covid precaution. Room very clean, comfy bed. Always thank the wonderful cleaning ladies who make your stay safe and comfortable.
This hotel didn’t live up to the Marriott standards. You never saw anyone cleaning the common area, mold in the shower and a queen size quilt put on a king size bed. The issue with the quilt wasn’t rectified until 4:30. We left the room at 10:30 and the front desk was going to have the cleaning people go up to our room immediately. This didn’t get rectified until I complained a second time at 4:30. Don’t bother staying here.
CAPITAL THEATRE PATRONS BEWARE!If you enjoy all that Capital Theatres musical talent and fans have to offer DO NOT STAY at this establishment. You will find yourself thrown out into single digit tempatures at 1:00am, with no warning, at least from the night clerk Capricia.Do people go to concerts to enjoy themselves and indulge in alcohol, yes some do. Most, including my group traveled from further way so decided on staying in a hotel to do the responsible thing and not drink and drive. Had we been warned that our good time was interferring with that of the guest s around us, we would have immediately and most importantly respectfully ceased any and all actions leading to this. Instead we were asked to leave intoxicated. If it had not been for the kindness of the local PD and a few certain great policemen and women, our night could have ended in danger.CAPRICIA, severely lacks experience in hospitality and the way she handled the situation makes that clear. She would be better suited for a job at the Department of Motor Vehicles where they do not strive themselves on standards for a great customer serivce. The Marriott would be better of terminating her.AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.
Very clean facility. Friendly, hospitable staff and comfortable rooms. I got very good sleep. Marriott is 2 for 2 over the last couple weeks for me and this location compares to the courtyard Lenox MA. Its good to have a running list of locations that you know are going to be excellent stays. Good work here.
I have been staying in this facility for several times a month for over a year. I have observed the start of the transition back to revitalization as the economy has started to open up. Staff has been most accommodating and the stays have been most acceptable under the current situations. The greatest issue has been with ability to find decent facilities for meals. Perhaps an arrangement with food trucks might solve having to leave the premises for meals.
The rooms were well cleaned and cozy. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Unfortunately, there wasnt much that was distinctive about our stay. Weve stayed at places in similar areas that had more amenities included at half the price. Its tough to know if any of this is because of COVID or of its just the way the hotel is.
This was a last minute booking. Hotel price was far too much compared to the actual experience. Website and the individual who booked the hotel over the phone said there was a pool. No pool. I had a very disappointed kiddo on my hands after that. The woman checking us in was lovely and very apologetic about the mix up. Hotel lobby was very ok. Room was clean. That is the only “A” I can give the place. Next morning, coffee shop didn’t open until 7am and the staff was very disinterested in customer service. Not rude, just indifferent. Would not recommend for stay in the area.
We stayed for 6 days to visit family in the area. The hotel was pleasant but because of covid, the pool was closed and there was no room service. Limited room service was fine with me, but they should have asked about changing towels and emptying baskets after a few days. Breakfast was not included, not even brewed coffee in the morning, although it was available for a pricey price. Some other continental breakfast items were available for high prices. I felt like they were being very stingy. It was not what I was expecting. Disappointing. I hope it improves as everyone feels more secure.
Pool closed due to covid and the coffee shop doesnt open until 8am.The room itself was clean and nicely prepared. There was nice music on as we entered the room. The suite was perfect for our family.Staff was friendly and accommodating.Best part was free level 2 EV chargers.
There wasnt daily cleaning service, so getting supplies for the room was problematic. Charged for coffee in the lobby - shouldnt do this when there arent coffee supplies in the room.Otherwise our stay was just fine. We had a room in a good location - very quiet. It was hard to keep cool however.
This beautiful Marriott Courtyard Rye Hotel is located off the I95 between Rye and Port Chester nestled in a quiet suburban neighborhood and its in a perfect location spot very quiet area away from noise level on the streets. The staff are very warm welcoming, friendly and awaiting to provide you with excellent service. I want to comment on Marrissa and Markell at the hotel for providing excellent customer service during our stay and off course its highly recommended and the hotel has few amenities to offer. No complaints at all during our stay and definitely would return. Thanks for a wonderful and amazing stay team and wishing you all great and best of success for the hotel.
Great staff, so-so accomodations. The rooms are clean and OK. The road noise is moderate because it sits so close to the highway. The AC unit is noisy. The shower has low pressure, but is still surprisingly good. The water out of the tap is almost undrinkable. The hotel was noticeably understaffed, but the staff they do have are excellent. Friendly and helpful. The staff make an otherwise three star hotel into a four star hotel.
Room was clean. Service was ok. Manager did not seem very customer oriented, communication skills needed some work. Front staff was nice but again short simple answers. A mistake was made on my charges it felt like no one really cared that or how it happen but it did eventually get sorted out. Room cleaning ladies always had a friendly smile and were nice.
The Courtyard Marriott Rye was a delightful place to stay this past weekend for all the wedding events planned for family and friends. The hotel was spotless, the grounds well maintained, the rooms spacious and clean. The friendly staff went overboard to help us with any questions or needs we might have. I would be happy to stay there again.
When my sisters wedding was cut short due to a power outage, the courtyard Rye were super accommodating and helped us have the remainder of the reception there. If not for the great and helpful staff, my sister wouldn’t have gotten to have her wedding reception! Only amazing things to say about this hotel. Clean, easy to check in, lots of parking, and a good location!!! Thanks again!!!!!
Your Director of First Impressions, Lorbee, was phenomenal in her service ethic. She treated us like family and went above and beyond the call of duty to find not only the best room to accommodate my mothers needs but also one that was close to other family members. She could teach a course in customer service and is a credit to your operation. She was not the only standout member of your staff. All members of the staff, from assistant manager to housekeeping to restaurant were helpful, smiling and accessible. Your work culture as seen from the outside is impressive.
We stayed for a family trip to Rye Playland Park, the hotel is about 8 minutes away. The location is very convenient and quiet. They room we stayed in was the King Suite Deluxe, we loved the space and the room was very well sanitized. Thank you for having us we loved every moment. We will stay again very soon.
The lady at the front desk was friendly and inviting and that was the only thing I enjoyed about this stay. The room was filthy. The bathtub had hair in it. The floors were so dirty that our socks were stained dark gray. The bed sheets and pillows were damp. I cannot recommend this hotel.
I cant say enough about how polite and accommodating Lorbie and her team were for our wedding this past month. We had almost 70 guests staying and everyone enjoyed their stay. We had some late check-ins but the team did their best to get everyone in on time, while other hotels in the area were flat out rude and would not even attempt to make our day easier. The staff was also very helpful with all of the planning, room blocks, reservations, etc. If you are having a wedding or big event in or near Rye (our wedding was at the Wainwright House) call Lorbie.
First of all there was a ford suv in the electric vehicle charging spots which was missing a wheel. The passenger window looked like it had been shot at by a .22. To be honest it looks like it should be taped off by crime scene tape. The staff was very kind and helpful. The room smelled clean and looked immaculate at first glance. Obvious water damage on ceiling in our room also the mattress for the pullout bed is nasty looking. I’d suggest replacing or at least providing sheets for the sofa bed. Extremely over priced as usual for no apparent reason aside from umphrey’s McGee playing at the Capitol Theater.
Enjoyed the center courtyard, room was clean, bed was uncomfortable, like most hotel mattresses. Had a slider to the outside on the first floor but was unusable bc the bushes prevented us from walking out. Glad they had a laundry room, only one set though. $3 in quarters for each load and they dryer took 2 runs. The Starbucks coffee was terrible. No where to walk around though.
Needed a local dog friendly hotel while work was being done on my house. This was the perfect place as staff was friendly, rooms were clean and any concerns were quickly addressed. Of course, Covid still has the dining area shut. While they serve as bagged breakfast, it will be nice when the actually dining resumes.
The carpet was dirty. Our sheets were stained. The hallway smelled. We tried to get more sheets and there was only 1 worker, he had to go to Home Depot to help repair another room and had to wash sheets! There was a long line of complaints at the desk. We finally got clean sheets about 4 hours later, we actually ended up washing ourselves. Horrible.
Lots of trash outside that wasn’t picked up—on curbs, overflowing from trash cans. Furniture was damaged and rickety. Bathroom shower was sub-par. We didn’t like the community pump style shampoo and body wash in the shower that all patrons utilized the same. The Marketplace was overpriced. A 16oz bottle of soda was $4. I walked to Home Depot next door and paid $2. It just didn’t feel like an overall Marriott experience. And, my wife couldn’t stand the dull lighting above the sink for her makeup and hair styling routines.
Hotel was overbooked, so we received a single king sized bed instead of the two queens we prepaid for six weeks earlier. No sympathy at the front desk either. At least there was a sofa bed for my son. The room was fairly clean, but smelled musty, as if there had been water damage at some point in the past. This is a tough location for guests who are not using a car. Google Maps shows a Whole Foods .2 miles away, and that may be true as the crow files. But the train tracks separate the hotel from that shopping area, so it would have ended up being a one-mile walk. There just is not much in the way of restaurants and other amenities close by.Uber and Lyft availability is spotty as well. We didnt mind the .6 mile walk to the train station, but be sure to check the schedule, because the trains into NYC stops once an hour at the Rye station. This location simply did not meet the standards I have come to expect from a Courtyard by Marriott property.
Outdated, dirty and everything is CLOSED.... pool, gym and even house keeping. They claim its because of covid but I stayed at another courtyard a month ago and they provided house keeping throughout our stay... Our sheets were the same from the last guest(s) hairs all over the bed sheets and pillows it was absolutely disgusting!! Seems like theyre cutting as many corners as possible to maintain those profit margins. I will NEVER stay at another Courtyard hotel. No idea how this place has more than 2 stars.
I understand that during the pandemic businesses are short staffed. However there were housekeeping staff onsite each day yet we had to beg for the things we needed/wanted. Im not confident that fully staffed anything would be different. I will not stay here again and would definitely not recommend this location to friends or family! So sad!
Without a doubt it was the worst hotel experience I have ever had in all my years on this earth. Room was dirty. Floors were sticky, Carpets felt damp. Doors and hallways were loud, air conditioning barely worked. Sheets felt like sandpaper. I could not sleep at all.I had prepaid for 5 nights and checked out after 1 night (with only 2 hours of sleep).PS one of the two TVs were broken
My husband and I stayed at the Courtyard in Rye while our floors were getting done. Every member of the staff went above and beyond to make us feel like we were at a home away from home. They were so courteous, kind and helpful. The Bistro has excellent food and we loved enjoying our food in the little nooks with TV. The room was comfortable and clean. The outdoor area was very nice as well. Overall an excellent stay and I would highly recommend to family and friends.
Stay here frequently and the staff is very good. Due to not being able to find workers to staff the BISTRO, it was only partially open. I understand the situation, but still disappointing. I don’t rent a car so the BISTRO is important to me or I have to use UBER EATS and the food is always cold and too expensive doing that.
(Front Desk) Staff wasnt pleasant. There is no complementary coffee available at any time. There is an additional charge (fee) for parking, that I was unaware of, and wasnt told about. Check in and Check out wasnt an enjoyable experience and wasnt informative. The woman acted like I was a disturbance or that she hated her job or her life. The Hotel was clean and the housekeeping staff was pleasant, professional and personable. The room was clean and the bed (and pillows) were comfortable, however the room walls were thin and we heard noise all night, from the room above us. I would probably stay again, because it was clean and comfortable, but I would also look elsewhere and wouldnt be in a rush to re-book, mostly because the staff was useless and couldnt care less (and there was no coffee - but she didnt tell me that either) [Long story]
Stayed here for two nights, we requested to change rooms after being assigned to a handicapped room with some minor issues (we got in very late, there were probably no other rooms available). The front desk agent quickly changed us to a new room the next morning and was very friendly. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff at the bistro were also very friendly and efficient, despite a decent amount of people placing orders.
Ive stayed in numerous Courtyard Marriott hotels and each time I am reminded that this brand has the worst lighting situation, especially in the bathrooms. You cant put makeup on under those lights. In the room area, there isnt a specific light that is brighter than others, for example, to provide you this option. We stayed during a gloomy/rainy weekend so there wasnt any natural light, and the room was dark, even with all the light fixtures turned on. Otherwise, the stay was pleasant and the room was clean.
Our stay was a pleasant one with a helpful and friendly staff. The room was clean and taken care of daily. We had a delicious breakfast each day of our stay. The bathroom needs a second grab bar in the shower and one near the toilet so children and adults will not be leaning on the walls for support. The citrus liquid and bar soap is very harsh, needs changing. A shower cap is needed in the bathroom.
Our stay was amazing and I felt at home. They were the friendliest people I had ever met. They knew it was my first trip to New York. They helped make me feel safe and helped make it easier for me to get around the City without being scared or intimidated. They loaded and app on my phone that I could use walking around the city with ease. The hotel was so clean and welcoming. The house keepers made it feel like home as well, anything we needed they made sure I had. I never had to ask for anything my whole week there. Love, Love this Hotel and will continue to come again and again.
The Courtyard Rye was a blessing to have during a difficult time for me and my family. They were most accommodating and met all our needs. During these difficult time of pandemic, they remained true to the Marriott policy of taking care of the customer. They were a safe haven for us in difficult times.
My daughter and I were there for a surgical appointment in the area. It was important we had a quiet room where she could rest. The front desk was very accommodating with all of our needs. We had a quiet room, very clean... the entire hotel felt that way. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
I found this location when searching for a hotel accommodation that was sort of “in the middle” of all the events I was to attend for a friends wedding around the area. The room was beautiful (though the bed comfort leaves a little to be desired, it was just ok), the stafff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming (a trait most staff personnel at Marriott hotels have), but my favorite part about this particular location was the food/restaurant! While most have a continental breakfast option, they don’t all have a restaurant where you have extended options for breakfast, a bar, and evening meal options. And not only were the options varied, it was so good! A bit expensive, but given the area I suppose that’s normal. All in all, I highly recommend this location.
I spent one night at this property. My room was a King room, with a comfortable easy chair and foot stool. The desk chair was nice, with a padded seat and mesh back. All items in the room worked properly, and were in good repair. My room included a fridge. Staff was very friendly at all touch points. Fitness center was small, but functional. Two Life Cycle treadmills, an elliptical, and a bench with dumbbells was provided. Breakfast was the usual Courtyard fare. A hibachi/sushi restaurant is less than a quarter mile away.
I will keep it short. I was able to check-in at 7am with a super friendly staff that made me feel valued. Room was more than comfortable with no issues. Usually most people dont like 1st floor rooms, but it felt like I was in the penthouse. Great hotel, great rates and great service. I didnt get to check out the lounge/grill downstairs but it seemed up-to-date and stylish. I cant wait to stay againValued GuestAndre
We were super impressed with our stay at this Courtyard. I have been at a lot of different Marriotts in different locations. The manager and staff were great. Even the maids were very friendly and sweet to our little girls as we walked by them. The location was good for us since we were staying near family, but there is very little to do nearby. Really limited grocery and restaurant options.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rye Courtyard. From the moment we walked in the front desk staff made us fell we were important customers. I would like to especially recognize Jason and Leshanda for the courteous service they provided us. And Leshanda was their again next morning, and still as pleasant as the previous night. Enjoyed the Bistro and the gentleman who prepared and served our food was also very cheerful and seemed glad to serve us. Even the housekeeping and maintenance staffs were all pleasant and always said hello. Our granddaughter lives in Long Island City in Queens and we usually stay closer to her in Queens, at a Marriott naturally. This trip my wife was going with her to an imaging center with her in Manhattan so it was more convenient for us to stay here and take the train in and out. The desk staff got us a cab to station this am which was very helpful. Hope you don’t mind we left our car in your lot. Our granddaughter is expecting her first child, a girl, and my wife went with her to her appointment and watched the ultrasound testing of our future great granddaughter. It was a special day and our stay at your hotel helped us enjoy it more.. Next time I go into Manhattan for a play I will definitely consider staying at your hotel and taking the train in. Please pass my thanks to all your staff for making our stay very enjoyable
We are two travelers, one disabled and one senior. We were never offered any help with our luggage and bags upon our arrival which was after midnight. Our room was as far away from the front desk as humanly possible. The rooms have no microwave , The cable freezes, the closet smell musty, the pool was unavailable for part of our stay. The rooms decor is dated and uncomfortable. The rates are really high for such poor service. Breakfast offered was minimal at best. This day should’ve gone so much better than it did. We are a couple - 53 and 81 years old and we travel a lot.
I was not expecting the rooms to look like the previews on web and they were actually clean and did not smell. The pillows are to die for and bed was super comfortable as well. I would highly recommend anyone that is traveling through Rye Ny to stay at this hotel. It will not disappoint you. Staff very professional and nice, dont get that much anywhere.
My husband and I stayed here in July 2016 because we were attending a show at the Capital Theater nearby. The hotel is very clean and well maintained, and the staff was super nice. The room was immaculate and featured several modern touches such as a granite vanity top, small but comfy sofa, an infinity drain in the newly tiled shower and a fresh duvet on the bed. Our only disappointment came when we learned the pool was being repaired during our stay, and that was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. Other than that, it was a lovely stay.
The modern furniture looks good when you enter the room but the couch was extremely uncomfortable during my 4 night stay. On the other hand the bed was wonderful and I enjoyed my sleep. Hallway cleaning needs to improve. I have stayed at this property at least 20 times and hope it will be better the next time.
This hotel is clean, the staff is knowledgeable, fast and courteous. The food is delicious and the coffee is great! The beds are so comfortable that I had to make sure my alarm was set. The lobby is stylish, roomy and comfortable for several people to sit in a group or by themselves. All the staff and I will definitely return and hope other Courtyards can compare!
Front desk staff was excellent. Very courteous, helpful and fast. Lobby was fresh and comfortable with good market.Bed comfort not as good as expected. Bathroom was fine. One room had an awful smell like someone smoked and tried to hide with cologne, perfume and spray. Nauseating.Very noisy from highway and trains. Hotel needs better soundproofing.
The outstanding thing about my stay at the Courtyard Marriott in Rye was the staff. The operations manager was exceptional and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly, professional and courteous. I have to stress that the staff was the right combination of friendly yet extremely professional and were very concerned about making our stay the best possible experience. Staying at a Courtyard Marriott ensures a certain level of quality and it was the case with this location. The pleasant and modern decor was similar to other other Courtyards I have stayed at. We stayed in a suite and my only complaint is the quality of the sleep sofa but for a child it would likely be fine.
A nice hotel on the Rye / Port Chester border. Clean with a decent restaurant. The room was clean and recently rennovated. Staff was friendly and helpful. Forgot my chrome book and called to inquire and the staff was fast and helpful to inform me they had it and it would be waiting for me when I stopped by later. Made my day that it was so easy to retrieve it.
The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Bathrooms have a large shower and ample towels, as well as complimentary Paul Mitchell bath products. Although some rooms are close to the road and train tracks, which gives some noise, they are pretty well insulated so the noise is muffled. Rooms facing the courtyard are quieter. There is a pool and fitness center, a business center, and large touchscreen information boards in the lobby. Free wifi is available throughout the hotel for all guests. The bistro is only open for breakfast and dinner. A small menu, but the food is good. Theres also a selection of frozen foods and a microwave next to the front desk, along with basic toiletries, snacks, and even beer. There are no restaurants in walking distance. The staff are all very courteous and friendly. They remember your name, offer assistance, answer questions, and respond immediately to any concerns presented by guests.
I was in town to see a show at the Capitol in Port Chester, and wanted a place to crash overnight rather than taking the late train back to the city. The Courtyard was the perfect distance -- a pleasant twenty-minute walk -- and was an extremely comfortable place to stay to boot! The staff was friendly and the grounds nice. Its a good place to stay!
Bed was comfortable. Pull out sofa bed comfortable. Sheets clean. Good service when we requested pillows, towels, tissues, laundry bag. Good Internet service. Room was dusty. Poorly lit. Air conditioner was very loud making it hard to sleep. Stains on wall behind the sink from previous guests.
My 4 day stay at the Courtyard Marriott in Rye, NY was extremely pleasant. The rooms are great and comfortable. The cafe offers Starbucks coffee and good food and is open late. The wine in the small shop is very good. The internet was free and fast. The staff was outstanding. I will return soon.
I had to book a room at the Rye Marriott at the last minute; reserved a room; and stayed only one night. But I needed quiet and a good nights sleep. I got both on the evening of Jan. 26, and even though I slept late, breakfast was still being served the next morning. The modern decor in the lobby and dining room would appeal to many, and the service on the morning was excellent. This Marriott property is within walking distance to the Rye train station, and for guests arriving by car, its right off major highways to all compass points. I love the Marriott chain. Their standards are high and uniform -- at least, thats been my experience at all the Marriott Courtyards where I have stayed. I always look for them first when on the road.
Spend a great 4th of July Weekend with wife and 3 kids! Staff and hotel are excellent! Kids didnt want leave on checkout day. We will be back soon. The pool, food, rooms were awesome: clean rooms and hospitable staff. Met all our needs for an excellent mini family vacation.
Ive stayed at the Courtyard in Rye several times over the past two years and each time Ive enjoyed the first class customer service, clean comfortable rooms, and pleasant atmosphere. During my past visit I ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant/cafe. Although the menu is a bit pricey, the food was fresh and portions were generous. I felt like I received good value for the convenience of eating at the hotel.
I stayed at the Rye Marriott the night before a family gathering. I was welcomed by friendly front desk staff, and quickly checked in. My room was warm and cozy on this cold night. I ordered food from the Bistro, and 10 minutes later picked it up downstairs. Good food, great service. After checking out and going to the family function the next morning, I realized I had left a charger in the room. I called the hotel and Josephine located the charger and left in for me to pick up at the front desk the following morning. Again, great service! I would highly recommend this Marriott.
Very Clean and nicely decorated. All staff (frontdesk, housekeeping, food servers) were extremely friendly. Balconies and/or patios off the rooms are a very nice touch. Would stay here again and recommend to others. Bear Mt. State Park and West Point were an easy car ride from hotel.
I used mobile check-in for my room and it was ready several hours early! The hotel staff are very friendly. The room was clean spacious. The bathroom while not huge was setup perfectly with the sink outside of the shower and toilet. Super conviet for getting back on 287 or heading over to the capital theater.
Noisy rooms as there were several high school sports teams their. They should have a better handle on the late night activities. The cafe is totally inadequate (slow, understaffed) and overpriced. We awoke to no soap in our bathroom. Fun fun fun. I think for the cost of the stay we shouldnt have to put up with this but the location is such that there isnt much choice.
We stay at this hotel quite a bit. Our daughter lives close by but the location is excellent if traveling north/south (or vice versa) on I-95. It has recently been remodeled (long overdue!) and is now much more updated. The staff is wonderful; rooms are clean and beds very comfortable. Price is reasonable for the NY area and there is a 10/15 minute walk to the train to get into the city. Rye and Port Chester have very good restaurants and there are several grocery stores close-by if you need to stock up.
We stay at this hotel a lot since we have family in the area. Its recently been remodeled (which it needed) which is nice but the staff is still wonderful and the rooms, including the beds, are comfortable. We really like the new curved sofas which, for some reason, are more supportive than the traditional, straight sofa. Port Chester and Rye have a lot of restaurants and shopping in the area; very convenient place to stay if traveling up and down I-95 because its right off the interstate. It would be a great place to stay if going into the city for the day; the train is about a 15 minute walk away.
Do not stay here is you need an accessible room. I am a below knee amputee who often times is in a wheelchair or when in my prosthetic can’t do stairs quickly. The beds are too high to get in, the shower chair is located at the other end of the tub so you can’t reach the water controls or hand held shower. They mounted the body wash and shampoo in pumps on the wall above the faucet so that’s out of reach as well.My room was the second floor, so Incase of an emergency i would have to take the stairs and furthest away from the elevator from the lobby. They have moved the handicap parking from the front closest to the door and replaced it electric car charging. The handicap spot I had to use was located in the back of the building! I was close to a sidewalk. When I spoke with the staff they said they know they hear it all the time but the management does not care. And it shows!! I spoke in an email to the manager and he said “... for your information our rooms meet code..” which is much different than meeting ADA compliance. I travel with large groups of handicap athletes and I will make sure all (up to 50 at a time) of us stay somewhere else.
Nice hotel. I was disappointed that there was no hot tub, but they did have a small pool. The only other thing that I didnt like was the proximity of the hotel to major commuter train tracks and station. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, so overall it was a pleasant 4 night stay.
The staff at the Courtyard Rye make all the difference - they are the best. Very attentive to needs and requests and always seems to remember my name. The hotel is beginning to undergo a renovation, once its complete the hotels appearance will match the wonderful staff. In the meantime it is very clean, beds are comfortable and the bistro meals are good.
This was my first time in which I chose to stay at a Marriott hotel for work. I appreciated most everything about my stay. The only issues I have are quite small, but may make a big impression with future guests. I needed to purchase some snack foods as I needed to stay around the hotel during lunch time. Without specific details of an itemized bill it makes it much more difficult for me to be reimbursed by my company. I know that Marriott and Starwood is currently in the process of merging, I hope that during this time the option for Green Choice, to limit housekeeping for a $5 rewards credit per night, would become part of my stays at Marriott. I was also disappointed that there was no recycling being done at my hotel. Which may not necessarily be true if the hotel or garbage maintenance company sorts the trash prior to taking everything to a landfill. I dont think any of these items significantly impacted my stay, but it is a big reason of why I choose to stay at Starwood hotels typically.
Front desk staff is awful, not helpful and straight out rude. Made a bride cry on her wedding day. No sympathy, and not willing to help resolve an issue. Tried to recite a policy, rather than helping to come up with a solution. This is unfortunate because the hotel seems newly renovated, and otherwise wouldnt have been a bad stay, but they completely ruined the experience.
Have stayed her twice mainly because of location. Not the worst choice, but may not be the best. Overall noise is dependent on pure chance and whether your neighbors are considerate or not. This time around, the A/C unit vibrated when on and impacted ability to sleep. Wish there were more amenities in the lobby other than expensive Starbucks and limited snack foods. Price is competitive with similar hotels in the area but worth shopping to see what you get for the money. The
Greatest hotel ever!! Quaint little bistro down stairs, right off the highway and right at the edge of the city. About a 20 minute walk to The Capitol Theatre. Doesnt seem as congested busy for its size and location, but the rooms, employees, and building itself were superb. Due to its location and how quiet it is, you might be surprised at who you may see during your stay.
If youre staying over in Port Chester to go to shows at the Capitol Theatre, this is the only hotel that you should be considering. It is excellent and a great value. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful. We had a wonderful experience with a bunch of friends going to some concerts at The Cap over the weekend. The rooms are nicely furnished and very clean, the beds are comfortable, the WiFi works great and is free, the lobby is upscale, they sell food and drinks downstairs 24/7 (including beer and wine until 4am), the rooms all have a fridge and cable tv (including HBO). They have a pool and fitness center, but I didnt get a chance to use them because I didnt figure on a Courtyard hotel having so many amenities. A really great find! Definitely exceeded our expectations!
The hotel is everything you expect from a Courtyard in the NYC area. The hotel amenities are there but the staff is more focused on the needs of the hotel than the needs of the customer. Food service is adequate. Sleeping room is okay. Location is great. Price/Value was very good.
Realized after arriving home was double charged for parking - contacted hotel - front desk questioned if we really did have 2 cars - had to have manager make decision on refund and was not available - asked to have the manager contact me when available - 2 business days later still waiting for response. Plenty of other lodging options up and down the I-95 corridor to consider instead of this property
We needed to visit a dying friend in a nearby facility arriving in the middle of the night to say goodbye to our friend in the morning. The night shift was so helpful and in our road weary state guided us to the best place to park and we were in our room easily and quickly. Good nights rest and made out goodby trip to our friend next morning after a easy start and nice breakfast in cafe where the staff was so friendly and pleasant , food was great and the TV news in the seating booth in the Cafe gave us that at home feeling.....Thank You
Hotel was clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Only disappointment, there was not free breakfast of any kind and that the Bistro was closed during the middle of the day, even on the weekend. Other than that it was a pleasant stay. Nice courtyard to see and enjoy the weather.
The night we arrived, the food court was busy and understaffed. Had to wait too long just to provide our order. Never ate dinner in the hotel again. Breakfast service was okay. All other aspects of the hotel were fine as you would expect for a three or possibly four star hotel. If you want a solid four star or five star hotel, this is not it and I dont this a Mariott Courtyard hotel is intended to be a solid four star or five star hotel.
We visit family in the Rye area quite frequently and always stay at the Courtyard Rye. The entire staff is very, very nice; the rooms are comfortable and clean and the location is excellent - just off I-95 between Greenwich and the city. Its a little bit of a hike to the train station but its a great place to stay if you want to visit NY. Lots of good restaurants in the area and easy access to places like Whole Foods or a CVS if you need road trip supplies. The hotel is currently being renovated to update the rooms and hallways but we were pleasantly surprised that didnt cause any problems - noise or inconvenience - during our recent trip. If you want a good, comfortable hotel on your travels, consider this one!
I enjoyed the amenities at the courtyard and it was satisfactory. I did have a mouse in my room and expect a full refund for that first nights stay if not both. I was offered a new room and it worked out well. The person at the front desk was very personable and helped to repair the mouse incident.
Extremely convenient location at bottom of Route 95 Exit Ramp. Easy, quick check-in/out process. Modest, clean rooms with very comfortable beds and pillows. Food is more than adequate for the traveller on the move. Parking is efficient and close to hotels entrance(s). Staff is knowledgeable but need to smile more.
This hotel is literally right at the entrance to the highway for access to NYC, which is only a 30 minute drive, and extremely close to the Metro North station for train access into NYC (40 mins). The hotel is a nice little small town upstate location with plenty of parking - much nicer than trying to fight the crowds (and expense) of in-city hotel stays. As an additional bonus, there are quaint little upstate towns such as Mamaroneck and Rye Brook, great for shopping or exploring, and nearby Rye Playland amusement park for little ones.
Overall experience was pleasant. Close to I 95 for easy accessWas asked how I would like to pay for coffee in the morning as we were leaving before breakfast was available. When I expressed concern about this I was not charged but I couldnt believe u was being asked to pay for two cups of coffee to go after paying a significant amount for the room and dinner in the bistro the night we arrived
The rooms were great. I didnt get room service or anything like that so I cant really comment on that. The bartender was enthusiastic and amazing. They have 24 hour access to a pool and work out room but the pool leaves something to be desired and they do not have a hottub. The hotel is walking distances from Coyote Flacco, a great Mexican restaurant and a bar called Mikes. There are also a few more places around. I really enjoyed my stay there.
Stagg was very friendly. The place was very nice and very clean. My only complaint is that the place they have inside to get breakfast and dinner wasnt good. 3 workers and none of them knew anything. Went to get a coffee and was going to get food but coffee alone took forever. The worker at the register didnt know how to use it. The one making the drinks didnt know how to make them and the third worker just had no clue and confused everyone. Get better staff in that one area and the place would be a 5 star rating.
Had a nice stay st Rye Courtyard. Our only complaint was the bed height in the handicapped assessable room was too high and created some difficulty for my mother who has severe arthritis. Otherwise it was clean comfortable and having a Starbucks in the lobby was nice.
This is the perfect spot for heading to the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, as its a 3 minute drive to their from the hotel. You could easily walk it if you had the time, and Ubering/Lyfting is of course an option if youre getting torn up at all. Im a bit peeved about charging to park, but hey, welcome to America! Overall, Id recommend this place.
I find this Courtyard to be a bit below average in comparison to other Courtyards. Still I would stay again. Its a 10 minute walk to the Metro North train station which is convenient. One issue was the room that the pool is located in. First, the water was wonderful. What was not so wonderful was the temperature in the pool room. It had to be in the 60s. That might be a good temperature for the halls and stairwells, but not so great when you get out of the pool. Also, I think this location used to have a whirlpool. Its seems as if it were tiled over. Is this a practice with all Courtyards? The last Courtyard I stayed at was in Somerset, NJ, and it seemed to have the same thing done. As I said before though, overall it is a good place to stay.
This hotel gives a guest a comfortable stay, excellent service, and convenient access to both highway and metro line. The proximity to the City makes this an ideal place to stay for a person who has business or leisure in the City, without the crowded hustle and bustle of actually staying in the City. Rye is a quaint little retreat from the City, offering a visitor from Upstate NY or New England the peace and tranquility and safety of a small town, along with sites and attractions unique to the area.
To my surprise the Courtyard Marriott welcomed my boyfriend & I with open arms. The location was so quick & convenient and the room was very cozy. Absolutely loved the Balcony and all the amenities this location offered. The staff made us feel so welcome that we will definitely be staying at this Marriott location throughout the summer.
Can I just say.. back in May we spent a week there.. and the first night the fire alarm went off and I feel like the receptionist should’ve handled it better.. no explanations.. no apologizes.. nothing. Nobody knew what was going on.. then at some point they just look at all of us in the lobby at like 3 am and told us to go back to our rooms. Again no explanations.
A good Courtyard with a fresh redesign inside and great staff. However, the beds are just not breathable. Whatever linens or mattress covers they use are comfortable at first, but I kept waking up and feeling overly warm, even with the A/C on full blast. Unfortunate, because this Courtyard is awesome otherwise.
It was ok. Expensive for the quality. Location was close to the wedding venue. Front desk seemed confused when we tried to put an order in for the bistro even though the menu said to explicitly do that. We had to spell out items on the bistro menu. Food was lukewarm by the time we got it.
We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel with free parking that we could stay at for more than one night and commute to New York City by train. The Courtyard by Marriott in Rye, NY was perfect. The train station was in walking distance from the hotel and we left our car at the hotel for free and took the train in to Manhattan. Rye is a nice community where we felt safe and welcome. The hotel was very state of the art and the staff were wonderful. I highly recommend it.
We always stay at the Courtyard when we go to the Capitol Theater in Port Chester. I like the update to the hotel. I miss the couch and the table. The chair in hotel rooms just doesnt seem like enough unless you travel alone. I miss that couch. We love the balcony but we miss the seats there too since the update..
Stayed here through circumstance rather than choice. However, apart from noise from other guests in the corridor the room was perfectly adequate. Quite spacious.Loved the huge cupboard space. Plus the separate sink unit to the bathroom area. Intrigued by the low side wide bath that doubles as a shower base (hate showers over baths but this seems to work). enjoyed the double shower curtain plus curved shower rail that gives an impression of more space when in the shower. Would stay here again if in the vicinity. For us an OK walk into town, some people would consider it quite long. Did not use any of the restaurant/gym/swimming facilities so cannot comment.
Best place to stay when visiting Rye and Port Chester NY. Convenient to 287 and I-95 and Rye train station. Lovely interior courtyard to relax. Updated interior last year. Great staff. Starbucks downstairs. Indoor pool. Very nice rooms - try and get one overlooking the interior courtyard. Many rooms have balconys. Quiet. I wouldnt stay anywhere else.
Room was lovely, breakfast delicious, and ALL staff were friendly and helpful. If youre looking for something very fancy then this might not be the place for you. But if youre looking for somewhere clean, friendly, centrally located, and with all the amenities you would need, then this is the place to stay.
This hotel is a little nicer than what you would expect for a Courtyard - but the customer service makes this hotel OUTSTANDING! Every employee I encountered was friendly, professional and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Easy access - it is literally right off the highway and it is close to many restaurants and only about 20 minutes from a great mall. I would highly recommend this hotel.
I like the Marriott, Its one of my favorite hotels in Philadelphia. Unfortunately I was not in Philadelphia. The Marriott Rey was pleasant to look at from the inside. A mess on the outside, with various parking issues. All staff we encountered except for James the cook , just did not seem like they knew what they were doing. I am still waiting for a credit that was promised and my room was not the best.
It is typically the small details that make a customer experience positive or negative which is why it always makes sense in the hospitality business to have a keen awareness of always being on point on the small things. Smile, Greet the customer personally on check in, thank them for their patronage and loyalty, ask if everything is ok, is there anything you can do to enhance their stay.....conversely missing on the Small Stuff also has big detraction from the overall rating. I had a slow sink which also smelled and it was not a difficult fix. However that is what I will remember versus the 50 positive attributes from the staff and amenities that far out weigh the one small item of the sink.
The rye courtyard is where we stay when we come up to do thanksgiving with the cousins. It’s home away from home - the staff is great and the kids are used to place and are comfortable there. Nothing fancy or over the top and breakfast is decent. Would recommend the stay.
The Courtyard Rye is my go-to place when I am up in the Greenwich Area. The staff is amazing: welcoming, caring, responsive -- in short, what one would expect in a quality motel. The friendliness did not end there -- the staff at the cafe was equally helpful and went above-and-beyond in ensuring that my Starbucks experience was flawless. (yes, that is what they serve....great stuff)Rooms are clean and quiet -- requests are met with promptly. What more do you need for a few nights stay?
Overall, acceptable lodging option. Food quality needs to be healthier and made to order. The mass produced meals purchased by hotel are really bad. Buy homemade soups from somewhere; have healthy bread options; have fresh easy to make salads; have fruits available; better selections of cereals; better selections of fresh fruits; dinner selection is dismal at best; sausage patty =rubber and healthy sandwiches are not that difficult. Checkout Courtyard Marriot in Burlington, VT.Forgot to mention that elevator broke and there was no sense of urgency to fix it.No list of restaurants available in the area. On arrival the attendant did give us one option which was good.
My crew and I came to participate in the Robie Pierce One Design Regatta in Rye. We stayed at your motel because of reasonable discounts. OcweLL, OUR STAY WAS RESTFUL. However, bistro staff could have been better organized to deal with folks on a tight schedule. Above said, would still recommend staying here.
We are former residents of the area, and this is the place family members would stay when they visited so it was the obvious choice for our recent visit. The room was comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoy the proximity to downtown Rye, the shopping and movies in Port Chester, and the Metro North train station to NYC. The rates are significantly more economical than in the heart of the City. The train is so reliable that there was no reason not to stay in Rye, as opposed to NYC.
We were three separate couples from one family. We all agreed accommodations were great, food was great, very pretty spot, architecturally, and very easy for us to find, 95S all the way from RI. Have stayed here x2 and would seek the same accommodations for our next needed hotel stay.
They updated the rooms with a fancy new couch that is very uncomfortable with a light that works if you are trying to sit on the couch. The overall room looks dark, especially if trying to work on a laptop in the evening. A minimum of $14 for a glass of wine is crazy.
The kindest woman saved our lives as we drove into a storm and couldnt reach our destination. Kristal got on the phone and talked us through the town in a raging blizzard. She talked us through turn by turn until we reached the safety of the hotel. On arrival she gave us a room that was easily accessible for my handicapped mother, and they really saved our lives.
Rye is a perfect small upstate town that is safe, not crowded, and an ideal place to stop when traveling downstate from an Upstate location to NY City. The Courtyard Marriott in Rye is right there at the highway entrance, which can get you to Queens or Manhattan by a variety of routes, in only 45 minutes. It is also right around the corner from the Metro North station, which is a convenient way to get into Manhattan for sightseeing or entertainment, and not have to bring your car. I will be staying here for all my future trips down to the City - it is a pleasant place to stay, quite convenient, and affordable.
The stay was fine except for the check-in experience. The person that checked us in (Marissa, I believe, was the name) was argumentative and confrontational. I used a government rate and showed a phone picture of my federal ID. She demanded that I produce the actual ID so that she could see my name on the back of the ID card. For starters, my PICTURE was right there on the ID. Secondly, with the agency I support, names are not placed on the ID card, for good reason. She claimed that her husband worked for the same agency and that his name is on his ID but I know better. Its not until I showed her additional ID that she initiated the check-in process. This was not a great way to start off the stay, and I didnt like her approach or her attitude at all.
Needing a place to sleep in the hours after midnight with another 2 hours left to drive on the I-95 to get home, we went online and found that the nearest Marriott (always Marriott) was in Rye NY with a room left. Promptly reserving that room we rolled into the hotel lobby about 1am. The person at the desk said our reservation was for yesterday but then looked at the time stamps and saw that the computer had not made the transition after midnight yet and honored the reservation (some guys might not have) and at the rate stated which was a bit less. We didnt have to push for those concessions and appreciated once again that Marriot is our go-to hotel brand (since 1985)

2022-03-13Below average courtyard. Bathrooms are biggest negative of the rooms. The tub/toilet is dated and the separate sink with carpet floor is atrocious. Otherwise 3/5 basic hotel. Only 1 elevator on each side of the building. End up waiting a while. Parking lot is too small for most cars/the number of rooms they have.Starbucks/breakfast restaurant incredibly limited and low quality for the items they charge for even in march post Covid.

2022-03-07Met an out of town friend there for lunch and I found it pretty nice. The place was extremely clean. It is conveniently located off the expressway where Connecticut, Port Chester, and Rye join. The staff is very friendly and cordial. The rooms are pretty spacious and there are lots of windows everywhere. Its a great place for a business meeting if youre traveling. There are great places to shop in the area. It is safe and pretty secluded on its own and fairly quiet. The rates arent too bad as well. The amenities arent top rated but its the rooms that count and the workers. This place is definitely worth a night or more.

2022-02-06It was a Saturday night, the beats were flowing, the smiles happening and another successful show at Capitol theater. However, one person wasn’t feeling the vibes. A night desk manager decided to kick out my friends for loud music. There were roughly 3 other rooms on this floor alone playing music and hanging out. She decided to kick out my friends and call the cops after giving no previous warnings. Of course, if she had knocked on the door and asked to lower the music before that we could understand her hasty thinking. But this was not the case and removed my friends after a night of drinking, expecting them to get in their cars and drive drunk. Even worse than calling the cops, there was no other hotels available in this area. They had to find a hotel 20 miles away in the middle of the night.Safe to say that this was extremely unprofessional and dangerous. And killed the vibe. 0/10 wouldn’t stay again.

2022-02-26Positive: The hotel is well maintained; nice lobby, updated bathrooms. It felt very comfortable and more than met my expectations of a Courtyard Marriott. The staff were also very nice and parking was convenient. Negative: The air conditioner was loud. Like scare-your-small-child loud. We stayed in February, so fortunately didn¿t require it other than to cool the room briefly at bedtime. There were also some pistachios under the sofa (and we didn¿t bring any pistachio

2022-04-16Its your typical older Courtyard. Furniture is old and best up. Carpet is old and sticky. The gym in this one is a closet. Looks like it was an after thought that wasnt included in the original plans. Nothing is really within walking distance so you either have to drive or take a cab.

2022-02-25Positive: The room was clean and I liked the shower toiletries included, such as the body wash, shampoo and conditioner dispensers installed in the shower. I also liked having the love seat with the table that allowed us to have dinner in the room and watch TV. Negative: The guests in the room next door were very loud one night until well after midnight.

2022-02-06DANGER. Stay Far Away..I feel like I’m being cheated by not having an option to leave less than a one star review. Funny, because that’s how my friends and I felt last night when we were forced to leave the premises over a NOISE COMPLAINT without a crucial warning of any kind. No refund will be given and mind you this was not a cheap hotel, monetarily speaking. After an incredible night at the Capitol Theater we went back, as many others from the show did, in great spirits and with spirits in our blood stream. So you can imagine the horror when we were the only loud group out of many forced to leave in the middle of the freezing night. Options were to drive drunk 40 minutes home, sleep in our cars or find another hotel which was not going to happen at 2am in the morning. We decided to trust our lives to the Marriott RYE and their single embarrassing “employee” Caprecia. Unfortunately it seems to them that our lives mean less than a grumpy old man’s peace and quiet. To say that I am disgusted is an understatement. I am traumatized by the utter disregard for our safety that we were shown. You are responsible for peoples lives working and owning a hotel not just responsible for their ability to sleep quietly. The fact that “management” left a fully booked hotel in the hands of a child blows my mind. She needs to be terminated. If it were not for the help and understanding of the cop that was with us we could have ended up in a really bad situation. We weren’t given any chance to speak to an adult to reason with them. Unacceptable.HORRIFIIED DISGUSTED DUMBFOUNDED

2022-01-10Our recent stay was for our wedding and I could not recommend enough for a group rate. The staff was incredible and so accommodating to a few special requests like welcome bags and using a conference room for our group to meet. I have been working with Lorbie for months on the group rate and she was so easy to work with and always happy to help. The recent increase in COVID cases did present some last-minute changes with our group but Lorbie was so flexible and always available for any questions. Our entire group felt very comfortable and safe due to the precautions taken at the hotel. Could not have asked for a better experience!

2021-10-25Upon arrival to the property I felt like I picked a good place to stay. Boy was I right. The cleanliness of the whole building and my room in particular were meticulous. Also got an incredible night of sleep. This was an ideal hotel experience. I think that my experience reflects that of which you strive for. I will be back. Also I will be leaving a superb review on Google.
