Tarrytown, Westchester County, New York, US
I recently stayed at the Courtyard (Marriott) hotel of Tarrytown, NY. The location is very convenient. It is right off I-287, very near the Hudson River / Tappan Zee (Mario Cuomo) Bridge. The hotel is well-maintained, and the staff is awesome. I was there overnight, and had to leave early in the morning, but the hotel has additional amenities that I will certainly take advantage of next stay. I will definitely stay here again if I need lodging in this area.
Decent hotel, but it was way too overpriced for the quality of the hotel. It reminded me of a Motel 6 except slightly higher end. I would much rather stay at a new or renovated Motel 6 for a fraction of the price of this hotel than to stay here. The campus of the hotel is very nice so in that aspect it looks higher end than it actually is. As far as the rooms, they arent that much better than the rooms that I stayed at the last few times I went to a Motel 6. The Motel 6 that I stayed at in New Hampshire actually had even better rooms than this hotel. Kind of overrated if you ask me. Im not a smoker, but the smoking policy at this hotel is also very ridiculous. You arent even allowed to smoke outside of your room on the balcony for the price that youre paying? Instead you have to go to the smoking area in the front of the building. Give me a break.
There is significant room to improve the comfort level of this hotel. While staff are top notch, the linens, towels and pillows are not. Towels are old and scratchy. Pillows are super soft and provide no neck support. Bed linens were not as clean as I expected (there was visible dirt/black speck on one comforter upon my arrival). If you need toiletries (such as lotions, etc) you’ll need to ask for them, as well as housekeeping. As a light sleeper, I got little to none of it as I could hear every movement my neighbors made- these walls are paper thin. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for longer than one night. For a quick stay it’s fine, but I’ve been here a week and can’t wait to get home to my own bedding!
Over the years, weve traveled quite a bit, and we often stay at Marriott properties in and outside the U.S. The Courtyard in Tarrytown is certainly one of our favorite places to stay. The staff is amazingly helpful and friendly. The hotel is exceptionally well run and is very clean and attractive. If youre looking for a great place in Westchester County, youve just found it!
This property has a lovely common area by the reception desk and clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. We also appreciated the covered walkway from the tiered parking lot to the front door. We were warmly welcomed at midnight by a lovely front desk associate. The breakfast at the bistro was delicious and the staff was cheerful and professional, catering to our every need. We will definitely choose this hotel over others in Tarrytown for our future travel needs.
We love this hotel; great staff and service. The carpet should be replaced sooner than the planned replacement next year. That would really make this hotel a jewel!Special shout out to Aida, Sean and Michelle in Bistro; Lily, Manny and John at the front desk and Patricia in Housekeeping.
The hotel was quiet, nothing to interrupt a good night sleep. Room was clean, furnishings and carpets in good shape. All appliances worked well, and the WiFi was quick with virtually no lag. The Bistro menu was limited but the food was reasonably priced and very good.
Ive stayed here multiple times pre-pandemic and once in July 2021. I love the convenience (close to the city via train and close to my aunts house) and the friendly staff. Very clean rooms and the Bistro food is good and gift shop is always open for snacks, drinks, etc.
We come to Tarrytown several times a year and have stayed at various hotels. The Courtyard is our favorite and we use it whenever we can. It is clean, quiet, with large rooms and comfortable bed. It has a nice fitness room and the staff is friendly. They always remember our names. Great breakfast and coffee gets us started. It’s our home away from home.
The hotel is clean and looks fairly new but the staff is not good. Being a Bonvoy elite member will get you nothing here, so if youre a member stay at another of the Marriott hotels close by.The staff seems to have the practice of canceling your key whenever they want you to go to the front desk. I spend most of the year at hotels and believe me, you can get way better service somewhere else.
I booked this location through your website specifically because dogs were permitted. I was surprised at the sign at reception that said no pets allowed. Your front staff was dismissive of the fact that I made this reservation through your corporate website. It was only when I insisted this wasn’t right and asked to speak to the manager that this got ‘corrected’. You need to be consistent between what your website says and your “policy signs” in your hotels. The reception staff should not have been so dismissive, acting like I couldn’t have possibly made the reservation with a pet. A very unpleasant start to my weekend.
Left some clothes in the room closet, called the next day upon arriving home and discovering mistake - front desk states they have them, great.I purchased a FedEx shipping label for the hotel to send back to me, wait days and the tracking states the package has not been picked up. I called the hotel twice a week for 4-weeks and began to get differing answers - house keeping handles that, theyll call you, we sent it out already (I have tracking, dont lie to me), someone will call you.I called the corporate Marriot support number and opened a case - they state theyll get the hotel to handle it. Nothing after a week, call again and discover the hotel told corporate they handled it; second follow-up with corporate and the same false statement. To this day, 6-weeks later, the FedEx label I sent states my clothes, confirmed as found initially, then shipped, now someone elses problem, has not left the hotel.Do not waste your money at this hotel if you value even a basic level of service. They dont care.
Hotel is nice but got harassed for.bottles of shampoo and conditioner and body wash saying I be charged 10$$ a bottle give me a break when I just spend 587$ to stay there two nights so over-priced for a ugly out of date sweet. Customer service front desk people could be better with I stay there again IDK???
The team at the Tarrytown Westchester Courtyard went above and beyond to ensure that my family was well taken care of while we stayed for my brothers wedding. Of course the rooms met all of Marriott standards with flying colors but it was their staff that set them apart. Allowing us to utilize their lobby after we returned from the wedding and ensuring our comfortability throughout the stay. We are so happy we picked the courtyard! Thank you all so much.
Stayed here with larger groups before, great safe location. Close proximity to all thruways. Love the area because we come from MA to watch our Yankees and miss the city congestion. Great courteous staff but the food was in a word terrible - doesnt match the rate were having to pay!!!
Quiet, picturesque setting. Convenient to NYC. Lots of local sites and events to choose from. Downtown Tarrytown and surrounding riverside towns have tons of restaurants to choose from with beautiful river views. Hotel rooms could use a little tlc, especially the carpets.
I joined the Marriott Bonvoy club just before Covid hoping to ride out the perks in our life to come. The initial reservations in Europe had to get refunded (Covid) and Ive since stayed in Marriott hotels domestically traveling for lost family members. I havent really been thrilled I joined the club, let alone remotely impressed, until this stay. This is the first Marriott Ive committed to staying in that I felt good about. The front desk was prompt, kind and obliging. This was the cleanest Marriott Ive stayed in by FAR- thank you! We could easily control the temperature in the room and I got greeted by anyone working anywhere in sight at any time I passed them. The cleanliness was really the biggest sell. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Clean and comfortable, hotel in a convenient location, great local bar/restaurant (Demeter’s) within walking distance, hotel employees were pleasant and hospitable. Other highlights (not available at other local hotels): Starbucks in the lobby, and fitness center open i.e. available to reserve in 1 hour blocks (only 1 person at a time, cleaning/sanitizing in between each user). Stayed for a week, would gladly return.
Okay look, I have just been here for 10 days. The hotel itself is fine but if you are in the 3rd floor then good luck to you because the design of this place is insane. There is only 1 elevator and its on the far side of the hotel which is a very long walk down 2 hallways from check in. There is parking near it but if you need the cart, expect to walk a ton to bring it to your room and then back. I am not kidding, its really really far if you are exhausted. There is a door near the elevator but it fried my door key 4 times which resulted in me having to walk the whole length of the hotel on their service road to get to the front desk. The elevator died today and I went down various staircases that did not lead outside nor to the bottom floor. One was marked exit but the door wouldnt open and it wasnt a firedoor. This place was designed by an idiot. Otherwise it is clean and pleasant. The walking gets really really old if you are towards the front of the building on the 3rd floor. You WILL be walking the whole entire perimeter of the building to get to your room.
This was my first time staying at a Courtyard property. Normally, I stay at the other Marriott closer to Elmsford in the hotel park. I was pleasantly impressed with the level of service from the front desk receptionists to the gentleman who brought me extra blankets. Everyone was professional and responsive. For the right price, I would definitely stay there again!
My partner and I traveled from Ohio for a dinner at Blue Hill Farms. I am temporarily on crutches and the hotel graciously and willingly helped accommodate our stay so that I was comfortable. The hotel was clean, staff were very friendly, and they were helpful with all of our questions and requests. I would definitely stay here again when were in the area.
I just completed a 4 night stay at the Courtyard Tarrytown Westchester County 475 White Plains Road Tarrytown New York 10591 April 28-May 2. I have stayed at this location at least 5 times in the past and although it was never a luxurious experience, it was in the past clean and relatively comfortable accommodations. This time however the experience was sub standard. We were greeted in the parking lot by a raccoon in the middle of the day defending a garbage can and retreating to the sewer. When we mentioned this to the front desk they were nonplussed and laughed it off. There were tarps covering the windows above the pool that looked like they had been there for years. There was a strong smell of smoke (incense?) throughout the hallways. The lock on the door to the room worked only intermittently. The room, and the rest of the hotel, was not only rundown but dirty. The carpets, bathroom, and bed had discussing stains. Understandably, due to Covid, daily housekeeping was limited to every three days. But because of a coffee spill on the sheets we asked for the bedding to be changed after the second night. We were initially refused but after making repeated requests the front desk reluctantly agreed to move the housekeeping up one day. The sheets were changed but the rest of the room was not cleaned. No new towels or soap, no garbage cans emptied. We are booked for another stay at this location for two rooms August 14-19. Because of this unsatisfactory and disgusting experience we attempted to shift our August reservation to another Marriot location nearby. The Westchester Marriott 670 White Plains Rd Tarrytown, NY 10591.When I called to make this change I was told on the phone that it was not possible to change this reservation because I prepaid the bill. This is ridiculous, unacceptable and outrageous. As a loyal Marriott coustomer and Bonvoy member I should not be forced to stay in a disgusting location when there is a perfectly acceptable alternative run by the same company. Don’t you want to keep a Marriott customer? I do not want to have to look to a competitor for acceptable accommodations.I expect that you will contact me to upgrade my reservation for August 14-19 to the Westchester Marriott
Setting up our 5 day stay was simple enough. We checked in very late due to problems getting our car at JFK. Arriving at the Terrytown site was fine, and we were told there was “breakfast” on site.Well, there was not. Nor was there friendly or helpful staff. They had a no clean your room policy for 3 nights, but they forgot to clean after the third night. You had to call down to get new towels, or coffee to your room.COVID was the excuse for anything and everything. There was no walkable dining nearby, so, you needed to drive your car wherever you were going.Verity disappointed. Do not recommend staying at this site.
I stayed overnight after I had a medical procedure done In the area-I had to return to the facility the next day for a post op appointment and it was easier to stay in a hotel than to travel back and forth to our home in Pa. I needed a clean, quiet place to rest for the night and Courtyard Marriot in Terrytown was the perfect fit. Everything was Perfect-clean, quiet, comfortable-highly recommend.
I was unable to connect to a meeting on a federal government computer because the security system on the hotel WI FI was inadequate. This is first time in 10 years that Ive had this happen at a hotel, despite a great deal of business travel around the country and internationally on federal government business.
Thus far in Tarrytown I have stayed at the Hamptons, Ardsley, and Extended Stay and the Courtyard by Marriott. Of them all, the Courtyard had the best staff, cleanest facilities, and was the most organized/ coordinated. In general the Courtyards by Marriott are well run. I have stayed at a few throughout New York.
This hotel falsely advertises themselves as pet friendly. The fee for pets, which is not clearly listed on any third-party websites that most customers use to book their room, is $150. Any pet owner who has stayed at a bona fide pet friendly hotel knows that this is an exorbitant fee, especially when we only stayed for ONE night. There were not pet areas or signs for designated pet spaces or waste disposal. It is criminal to have this charged on the spot, especially when there are limited or no other options in the area. This will be reported to the Better Business Bureau as well.
It started with me checking in with a woman arguing at the next desk so I couldnt hear my direction to my room properly, then my floor had a bad smell by the elevator, then my pullout couch had no sheet set the bed itself was too hard, the bed was too close to the wall and the small tv was set up at the side of the bed so you have to watch sideways and the view from my bed was a dumpster then checking out the smell was still by the elevator maybe in the ice machine. Then when I checked out there was no one in sight so I yelled hello after a few minutes then a guy came from the back and told me to just leave my room key and go.
I have stayed at the Courtyard-Tarrytown location for the past 7 years mostly on business travel. I highly recommend this hotel as you will find and experience that all the staff will do everything to ensure that your stay is your best! Antonio and the staff at the front desk are an exceptional team that are at the ready to support you. I will not name them as I’m afraid I may miss a few, as all the staff is exceptional including the ones behind the scenes (housekeeping, facilities, maintenance). In addition I love eating from the Bistro, Aida always does an exceptional job to ensure a delicious dinner is prepared for you supported by the staff. Rooms have internet TV available, YouTube, you can use your personal Netflix account to login from your room TV!The Courtyard is located near many businesses, great restaurants, the Tappan Zee, Sleepy Hollow, the beautiful Hudson River, trains to NYC, and many others.
My stay at the Courtyard Marriott in Tarrytown was great. You first walk in and the lobby is so cute and nicely done. I also Loved the fresh cookies in the lobby, cute market place store in the corner, and the bistro as well in the front. The people at the front desk were very nice and it was great. I stayed 3 nights, ordered a drink from the Starbucks in the lobby and ordered some food, and everything was delicious. Overall, my room was clean and spacious, great staff, and great atmosphere. I will Definitely be coming back.
Positive: The room size. Negative: Yes, I did not like the mattress, it was much too hard for a Marriot hotel. The noise was terrible, both inside and outside on the patios and in the hallways. Not enough wash clothes. The desk clerk upon checking in was not as helpful.
There was nothing to be disappointed in at this hotel. While the walk from the parking lot can be a bit tough, (up hill) they have provided covered walkways and stairs. I found everything in the hotel to be comfortable, from the room to the lobby seating. They provide dinner and breakfast in the lobby and the food is terrific, and the atmosphere is very nice. Everything was spotlessly clean and made me feel good to be there. Staff was ready to help at every corner. Could not ask for more.
The Courtyard Tarrytown was a great place to stay for our family overnight getaway. The hotel was very clean and well appointed. Our room was spotless and comfortable. We took advantage of the indoor pool, which worked out great. The lobby was very convenient and welcoming. At night the small bar offered a great place to grab an adult beverage and a snack. In the morning it was a Starbucks and had a delicious breakfast menu with kid friendly and healthy options.Overall, it was a great experience, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed at every turn.
We always had liked courtyard hotels in the past, but this one was terrible. The room was dirty and in desperate need of updating, and the bistro food was atrocious. Other smaller things: The digital room key never worked, and there was no drinking water in the room. We certainly will never return to that hotel.
First , even if you are an elite member you must ask for a balcony . If there is no table on the balcony you must ask for it. Some rooms have microwaves others do not . I stayed 2 different times, once the HVAC was not working properly even after “fixing” and the bed was terribly worn; second room the bed was a true comfortable Marriott.
Appears to have had and continues to be updated. Clean simple room has comfortable bed and furnishings. Good TV. Missing is a mirror for getting ready while another guest is using the 1 person sink and mirror. Lighting around the sink could be better. Also a few basic amenities were missing, like glassware, or skimpy. Non complimentary breakfast, available only till 9:30. A bland bagel and 2 coffees were $9. Welcoming lobby is updated with various seating nooks. Friendly front desk.
Good if you only need to rest your head for the night, be prepared to walk a half mile to the only elevator, no complimentary coffee or tea in the lobby, they do have expensive Starbucks though. Rate of room depends on the # of people in it and not the room/bed size. Sink outside the bathroom. Staff was friendly, nothing special stood out.
In the area for a couple of nights on a business trip. Its not one of the newer locations...renovated lobby, but older rooms, very strange layout with a long trek to the elevator..and room. The beds are a little too soft for my liking, and it was challenging finding pillows where your head doesnt fall right through the bed.Theyve done their best to keep it up to speed, but theres only so much you can do without a full renovation of the rooms. Nothing horrible to say...just an older place.
I thought this hotel was very nice and clean. It looks a little unapeeling from the outside initial glance though. Once you step inside it is super clean and the lobby is very nice with a fireplace and couches and sitting areas. The outside courtyard is also nice. I think maybe a gas fireplace outside might add to the ambiance also. I think the location is perfect. We were 6 minutes from train station which we took into the city. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay here again. Excellent stay for the money.
The lobby upon entering was decent and so was the one bedroom suite that we booked for two nights. With that being said here are a few reasons for my rating; their description of the rooms are misleading, we chose this place because it claims that their bedrooms are “soundproof” but we got a call from the front desk about us (5 women) being loud. During the morning, one of us had to do a zoom call with her elementary students, so she needed to be loud and clear, then later that evening the only thing that could’ve possibly been loud were our voices from having a good time. Then they claimed to have walked by our doors and confirmed that yes they could hear us and could also sense the smell of marijuana in the hallway (meanwhile a couple was smoking out in the front but okay), even though they tried to make it seem as if they weren’t referring to us. They threatened that if they receive another call about us that we would be subjected to a fee of $100. To top things off, I’ll have you know that we saw these other guests peeing outside from their balcony, but I highly doubt that was any of their concern. Greatly appreciate the stay and hospitality, but it will not happen again!
Two smelly rooms in once visit. Urine smell from ac unit. The room I was given to move to smelled like smoke. No continental breakfast or breakfast option aside from Starbucks pastries No room service cleaning or food avail. Horrible! Using covid as an excuse to give less amenities
The online booking states pet friendly, upon arrival at check-in, they then announce an absurd $150 room cleaning per night. Why not state that in the pet friendly disclaimer. Furthermore, if a customer explained that they were not informed of the required cleaning service, why not investigate and honor the customer.
Dont hesitate - this is a great place to stay. Its set back on a hill just off the highway. The exterior, lobby, and rooms are all visually appealing, well maintained, and clean. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. I had breakfast in the Bistro which is located in the lobby. It was a lovely place to sit and have breakfast. The food came out quickly and was delicious. I wouldnt hesitate to stay at this property again - I had a great stay.
For the second time staying at this hotel. I liked it. Staff was friendly, answered all my questions, very professional. Rooms are spacious, comfy, clean and quite. Its exactly as its advertised on their website. Pictures are legit. Its 25 miles away from NYC but definitely cheaper for a big family. Plenty of parking and very safe.
Beautiful hotel and very clean. Our room was spacious and had a huge bed. There was also an outside porch which was an added bonus. Check in and check out was very quick and smooth. Staff and is very nice and police. The only con was the bed. It was too hard to sleep on and my fiance and I had broken sleep. Besides this, we enjoyed our stay and would come back again!
Drab rooms, very little services (in March 21, sorry Covid cant be an excuse for laziness and cost cutting forever!). No restaurant. Im a platinum member and upgraded to a suite which was a basically a dump with a bathroom where opening the door barely cleared the toilet. Found a dead cockroach in the bedroom too.
Very basic place... with that being said I would like to explain why I only gave 3 stars. We were told that the room would have a microwave, but it didnt. After asking twice and 3&1/2 hours later we got one. The little refrigerator is pretty small and no freezer compartment. What really irritated me was while being here under extremely stressful circumstances while a loved one is in a trauma unit I was asked who the extra tea bag was for. They didnt offer free hot cocoa so I asked for tea for myself and asked for an extra tea bag. I was questioned who it was for, I explained for another person back in the room. Really we are concerned over a tea bag?? That in its self will make me not return. I didnt catch the ladies name, but pretty sure the sweet man named John would not of acted this unprofessional.
Hotel was overall nice and clean. Room was big and spacious. However decor very dated, especially in the bathroom - could use a major update. The bistro has good stuff but a very small and limited menu, and leaves much to be desired. Its also not waiter service, which I wouldve prefered. Location is fairly good - Tarrytown fairly accessible in 10 minutes via car/uber. I wanted to use the pool, but it was small and overrun by children the whole time. id recommend implementing an adult hour.
Great location- quiet and accessible near the town center. Staff is kind and helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Hotel is well kept and up to date- sparkling and fresh lobby tastefully decorated for the holidays. The bistro food is excellent and the pool and fitness facilities are fantastic. Pool is large and has full window exposure to the private courtyard, really nice facility and location. Our room had a small patio that also faced private courtyard- great layout for comfort and privacy. We enjoyed our stay very much.
We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Tarrytown for an overnight on our way upstate for a long weekend. The hotel was perfect for what we needed. The service at the lobby was excellent, and they even called up to our room after we arrived to see if we needed anything. You cant beat this hotel for the price. The hotel is modern and very clean. The rooms have balconies, and there is also a restaurant/bar on premises and a coffee shop area. I highly recommend!
Highly recommend the Courtyard Tarrytown! Have stayed here many times during different seasons and have enjoyed each experience. The staff, service, and accommodations are attentive, thorough, clean, and comfortable! They are also accommodating with nonallergenic rooms! Staff and lobby are most welcoming with checking in and out. Onsite Restaurant is very nice and convenient! ( and the Pool is relaxing, fun, and clean!) Another Great Stay! We’ll definitely be back!
Hotel was clean, room was quiet, bed was comfortable. Bathroom and shower clean and functional. Ample parking. I wish they had an indoor pool and Jacuzzi but the hotel was nice otherwise. Location left a little to be desired in that its hard to access (have to drive past hotel and go around back roads to get there), and not very walk-able.
My overall experience was excellent. I bought my daughter and two nieces to celebrate my daughter birthday. She turn 12. I only live 30 minutes from the Marriott, however i wanted them to feel they was away. They love the hotel room , pool and even the lounge. I will return with them in the spring to experience the courtyard. I have already show pics and recommendations this hotel to a couple of co workers. I ask my daughter from a scale of 1 to 10 how was her birthday weekend and she said one thousand. So we all was satisfied.
The Courtyard Marriott Tarrytown, is a little pricey for what I got. The door latch was falling off and I had to have maintenance fix it. I think the room should have been inspected prior to my arrival. I could hear everything the people in the room next to me and above me were saying and doing and it was very loud at night. The biggest complaint is that I was told they had to hold an additional $50 per night on my card for incidentals. When I asked about this fee, the clerk could not explain it and I told her this was not listed on their website. I doubt if I stay there again as this was last minute planning and close to where I needed to be.
Im coming here for quite some time now. The staff here are the nicest people. Everyone treat you like family. They make an extra effort to make sure Im taken care of my needs. The rooms are typical for a Courtyard Marriott. This place actually has a huge courtyard in the middle of it. There is a Bistro in the hotel, serving breakfast and dinner. The options are decent but the staff is nice to customize it as you like. Overall it is always a good experience here. Definitely recommend others.
We couldnt have asked for a nicer hotel stay, from start to finish. We were greeted warmly when we arrived, check-in was quick and efficient, and our room was lovely: immaculately clean, attractively furnished and thoughtfully appointed. The beds were super comfortable and anything we thought to need was already there. Everyone we dealt with was genuinely courteous, personable and helpful. Guests are even offered a choice of time of day to have their room serviced! The little Quiet Time signs posted in the hall are a gentle reminder to be sensitive about noise when others might be sleeping, which we very much appreciated. All in all, this hotel stands out for us as an example of what a hotel should be for anyone traveling for pleasure or business: a welcoming, well-thought-out, really comfortable place to stay. Its clear that great thought has gone into even the smallest details.
Courtyard Marriott was an absolute dream! We stayed here during my sisters wedding weekend. The rooms were really nice and the pool was really warm! The Bistro had a nice selection of food items and drinks. The staff was helpful and very accommodating! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who looking for a terrific hotel.
This is a nice little property, with probably the friendliest staff Ive ever encountered in a hotel chain. I travel with my kids a lot (ages 9 and 10) and I loved the fact that this hotel has suites and a pool. But, theyre closing the pool-- argh! Ive been staying at this hotel to visit family for probably 10 years or more. But, now I think Im going to have to find a new one. Dont close the pool!
This was the best Marriott hotel Ive ever had the pleasure to stay in overnight. The took was super clean and pleasantly appointed. Even the little touch of having a bottle of Fiji water available was great. Is Google recommend and it will be my hotel of choice when I visit NY again.
Weve been to quite a few of Marriot Courtyards. This one however, the room was disappointing. There was no microwave and safe. We had to ask for extra toiletries including body cream, soap, and shower cap.The restaurant was closed and there was no bar. The price was the same and the amenities were lacking. We felt it was understaffed as well.
Courtyard Tarrytown Greenburgh is a beautifully renovated property. The lobby is very nice, there is an awesome outdoor courtyard to sit in. The pool area is big and very nice and the pool was indoors and heated. The rooms were beautiful and the beds were so comfy I didnt want to leave. The staff was Marriott all the way; they couldnt do enough to make sure we were happy.Thats why I stay Marriott and own Marriott!Thank you for making my daughters Birthday experience a very happy one.
The first impression is what you remember the most. The front desk agent (Eva) who checked us in was warm, friendly with a most happy disposition. What a wonderful way to start our stay. The room was clean and comfortable. Next morning we had a reasonably priced breakfast. While having breakfast the assistant general manager stopped by our table and asked how we were doing. Very enjoyable stay because of the staff. Will be back.
This was an enjoyable stay. The staff was very very friendly and accommodating. We loved the cafe area. The hot breakfast we ordered was delicious and the service excellent. They also had a store stocked with beer and wine and snacks. All this close to downtown Tarrytown. The next day we walked around the Rockefeller State Park which was beautiful. I would choose this hotel again.
Booked this hotel 5 months in advance for a girls weekend get-away (minutes from Sleepy Hollow); requested an adjoining room - did not get the room requested, but we did receive an upgrade into a king/queen adjoining room suite, which worked out perfectly. Food at the restaurant was fantastic, as were the drinks and most of the service (we had a counter woman become a little snarky after she automatically dumped the change into her tip jar...and then we asked for the change...she didnt like that, but she wasnt making our drinks, so we were OK with that - the man who made our drinks received the tip!). The room was fine, clean, comfortable, toiletries, etc... The hotel location was about 10-15 minutes from the center of Tarrytown and the sights of Sleepy Hollow - minutes from the Tappen Zee Bridge! (PS - they closed their pool for good, in April)
The hotel was nice overall, but there were some oddities. A covered ramp up the center of the parking lot offered convenience, but is difficult to traverse in high heels/formal attire. Elevators were rather far from check-in. Room was nice and clean, bed was comfortable. Shower had very little pressure. The Cafe in the lobby serves Starbucks coffee.
We needed some time for ourselves and the Courtyard was our perfect getaway. We didn’t leave the premises and found everything we needed. Comfortable to read in our suite, work out at the gym and have dinner and handcrafted cocktails at the lobby restaurant and bar. Healthy choice food options to choose from. Thank you Courtyard and staff!
We arrived in the evening. We checked in promptly. The front desk clerk was very helpful. The room was great and our grandsons loved the pool. The morning front desk clerk was extremely nice and helpful and made my 4yo grandson feel very welcomed. Highly recommended!!
Though the bistro was closed, and the concert I was supposed to attend at Tarrytown Music Hall was postponed, I enjoyed the opportunity to get of NYC and have a bit of a vacation before having to go into social distancing mode back in the city. The room was big and lovely, the staff were extremely nice and accommodating, and I had a great experience in Tarrytown overall. I will be back in November for the rescheduled concert.
We had a wonderful time at the Courtyard Marriott in Tarrytown. It was very conveniently located to Sleepy Hollow and Stone Barn. We were greeted with wonderful smiles and delicious cookies and spa water. The lobby was very clean and modern. We enjoyed the very clean and warm indoor pool. The food at the Bistro was very delicious and large portions. The specialty drinks and Starbucks coffee was great. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. Well definitely come back.
The location is perfect, easy access to major road systems; the staff is informed and personable; rooms are clean and comfortable-perfect for extended stays; the facilities actually have a workout room, pool and breakfast/bar in lobby. The neighborhood had wonderfully eateries in Tarrytown and Elmsford. In short you cant go wrong. Due to the off season the price was very good. Stay here if you can. John F
Check-in is very fast and easy. the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are good with comfortable bedding. TV service is very good and fast internet is included. There is a typical hotel indoor pool. I understand it will be closing for good in May this year. I think they should keep it open.
We have stayed at this property many times for a number of years. It is the place we target for an overnight when traveling through the NY area. The restaurant is simple without much atmosphere but adequate. There are a number of good restaurants within a 5 minute drive, so this is not important to us. Their rooms are always clean, well decorated and quiet. The front desk staff have always been friendly and helpful which is one of our main reasons for returning here over the many other hotels in the area.
We were heading into NYC but did not want to stay in the center of the city. Tarrytown provided us with a great location to hop on the railway and be in the city than less than an hour. The hotel was clean and the staff was so helpful. We enjoyed the pool every evening. It was great to come back to such a nice hotel after walking miles in the city. Its location was great as we could venture out and enjoy Tarrytown as well as NYC. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you want to stay outside of the city!
I stay here for business quite often and it is always a very reliable and consistent stay with this particular Courtyard. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable and the bathroom is nice. I like the Paul Mitchell amenities, I never feel a need to bring my own shampoo and conditioner. The staff is friendly and they have laundry facilities on site with complimentary detergent and dryer sheets or a laundry service that will return same day.The food is lacking as it is quick service, not a real bar/restaurant. But to get coffee/tea in the morning or a beer/wine at night, it is perfectly fine.Balconies in the room are a nice touch as well to get fresh air. Always stay here for my business in Tarrytown.
I have relocated here as a caregiver for my Mom who is dying of cancer. The front desk staff, the manager and the staff in the hotel restaurant and room services were exceedingly amazing this week of re location for myself back to NY. They were kind and helpful and professional and performed their jobs to the best of their ability and it showed. This is a hard time finding a new place to live this week and now I have one. The kindness of the staff helped the transition greatly.
I stayed here April 5-9 2021, room 223I had a clogged drain that would back up into the sink when water was turned on and Took hours to drain. Hair and grime(not mine) would float around my sink.I was woken up by two dogs barking that were left in their rooms while owners were out.I called the front desk and he told me he was alone and could try to come see but never did.As a travel manager for my company I will probably not use Marriott hotels anymore.
Just finished a 48 night stay in Tarrytown/Greenburgh Courtyard. The staff was great from day 1... Rooms are clean and updated. Most rooms have a great view, either the courtyard with very nice landscaping.. or out to the area around the hotel. I saw deer and raccoons walking near bye and over all was a peaceful area. Decent food very close, if your looking to leave your hotel.
Very nice Courtyard by Marriott. Very friendly staff and the breakfast and dining area is quaint with good food. Sitting area is also nice considering the fact that you are staying at a Courtyard. Swimming pool and fitness center are also in the building, although I did not use it. Elevator is a little far from the main entrance so I used the stairs
It was a great stay. it was my second time. i like Courtyyard very much. the front desk people were excellent. they were one of the bests i ever seen. i like their hospitality. my only concern was the WiFi. i couldnt access to the WiFi through out my stay. but i didnt report it to anyone. may be they could have fixed it if i report it. even though its very hard to get access to your WiFi service. they have find out some easy way to get the WiFi. the room and its ambiance is another fantastic thing. enough sunlight and ventilation. overall i am well pleased.
I needed a comfortable place for me to take my family of four and the Courtyard Tarrytown Greenburgh was a hit for all of us! I had to work in my room at night and the desk was very comfortable, the internet was fast and reliable and the front desk always had something for a late night snack. My family loved the room and amenities, especially the pool and fitness center, using them almost daily. The food was great, prepared quickly and the staff was always friendly. I recommend this hotel above all others in the area, and I have visited about 95% of them here.
Since our wedding and honeymoon/ executive suite this was my husbands and my first getaway. As a young couple we like the city life but the peace and quit when relaxing. A 30 min drive into city or a seat on the balcony gave us the best of both world! The bistro (Sean) was absolutely amazing and the food was a pleasant surprise... it was worth every penny (get what you pay for) the quality was superb! Cece welcomed us (nice to see people of color) with a warm rewards welcome and our keys were ready upon arrival! So blessed that we chose this location to stay at while in between traveling
Surprised by the fact that the hotel room was incredibly clean. Lobby is impressive and updated with a clean modern bar. Im pretty sure the website (or Google maps photos) showed a pool, but it seems the pool is being renovated into a fitness center and business conference room...a big let down for the kids worth one star.
We had a number of rooms and family members from various parts of the country staying here for a wedding. Everyone was delighted with their stay here! Quiet, attractive courtyard, personal balconies, lovely little bistro. The rooms are so attractive and extremely comfortable! The staff was terrific..hospitable and helpful with ready and genuine smiles. This is place is a gem! I will return when I am in the area.
We recently stay at the Courtyard in Tarrytown Westchester County. It was conveniently located off the highway. The room was clean and comfortable. It was quiet. Easy to access WiFi. Had dinner and breakfast at The Bistro. Although the menu was limited, found nice choices for both meals.
All the staff were attentive but not to the point that they were overbearing. The lobby as well as the room and courtyard were synced in their tasteful decor. I can only speak for the BBQ flatbread at the Bistro, but it was fantastic and ready quickly. Two notes of elements that went above an beyond for me were the fact that they had a lift in the pool area for handicapped persons and that they put out flavored water and cookies every evening in the lobby. I would stay again and highly recommend the Marriott Courtyard in Tarrytown.
Super clean place with excellent restaurant. Breakfast made to order, not the usual make it yourself on Styrofoam plates. Staff try hard here. Second stay, I have a service dog and they are very accomodating to my special needs. Easy access, with clean sidewalks and accommodations.
Hotel was very nice and clean, as has been my experience with most Marriott hotels, which is why I keep using Marriott. The one thing that really set this hotel apart was the staff though. Lily, at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. She went out of her way to ensure that all my questions were answered and went over things to do in the area in detail. I would stay at this hotel again just for that reason. The hotel manager was out in the lobby while I was there too, making sure that everyone was satisfied, and doing it well. I cant recall his name. Overall, a great stay.
For my daughters 9th Birthday she asked for a hotel sleepover. So we booked a suite and they enjoyed swimming, cake and movies! She loved it! She even called the front desk for extra blankets on her own! Lol! She had a blast! I’d definitely book again for a weekend getaway from the kids.
If you desire a charming place to stay for business or pleasure, please consider the Courtyard Tarrytown Greenburgh. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. They can offer you insight into places to eat, things to do or just what room in the hotel will fit your needs the best. If you desire, wander down to The Bistro, for a bite to eat or something to drink. The area is well lit and provides comfy booths as well as table top seating. This hotel is conveniently located if you would like to take a day trip to the New York City, travel to nearby New Jersey or Connecticut. But most of all consider this hotel for the careful attention paid to you by the staff.
My family is in the area (I live in Mexico and Canada), and I try to visit for a few days each month. Over the years Ive stayed at other local hotels, but none match the comfort and friendliness of the Courtyard. I cannot say enough about the excellent staff: Im always greeted by Cathy, the assistant manager, as well as Kazie, Crystal and the others who work the late shift, and this is my primary reason for staying at the Courtyard Tarrytown. I had traveled extensively for business for 35 years, and the Courtyards staff is matched only by those at the finest hotels in major cities. I know the difference when a hotel is managed with excellence, and I would not stay anywhere else.
We needed an overnight stay due to car trouble. The front desk staff was incredibly nice and we got a nice little room with a king size bed. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean albeit a little outdated. We used the hotels pool with great joy. All in all a smooth and nice stay
Tarrytown Courtyard provided an excellent accommodation both on the way north and during our return during the Thanksgiving holiday. The room was very well appointed, grand in size, and immaculately clean. The Bistro in the lobby area provided convenient and great light menu selections for both breakfast and Sunday supper. The staff performed their tasks in a very friendly and very efficient manner.
Our original check in date was on a Friday, for a weekend getaway. Unfortunately our child fell ill that morning and we just couldnt leave her felling that way. I called the Courtyard and spoke to Michelle to explain that we were unable to check in by that afternoon. I suggested if we could check in on the following day, saturday instead. Michelle did not have a problem with this and was very accommidating in doing so. Michelle was very pleasent on the phone as well as in person when we arrivied on Saturday. The entire staff we meet during our stay were friendly, the room was clean and fresh. Overall the stay was very relaxing. We will be staying here again for another visit to enjoy more of the town.
We recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at this Courtyard location. The hotel was clean, beds were comfortable, and the lounge/bistro area provided a great place for our large group to gather and relax. There are limited breakfast offerings at the Bistro, but there are many places in the area to get something quick on-the-go. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to this area.
This is our 2nd time staying here; it was fantastic! Beautiful and clean, friendly and helpful staff. Close to the train station (helpful because we were going into the city for recreation); close to Tarrytown (scenic and fun for shopping); close to lots of great historical sites (we usually come down from Upstate in fall for the Jack OLantern Blaze). Bed was super comfy, room was kept immaculate, service at the restaurant downstairs was quick and friendly. Pool area was very clean. Great place to stay!
Nice oasis tucked away from the hussle of the city while allowing for a reasonable commute. The traditional clean and tidy Marriott Courtyard theme is present with everything in good repair. The team was also very accommodating and always pleasant to deal with. Good value of room rate and great for business or pleasure trips. I will stay again if in the area.
Ive stayed at this location a number of time and have never had an issue. The staff is incredibly nice and the facility itself is well maintained. The food options are acceptable in a pinch. This location offers a number of specialty local beers which is nice to see. I would certainly recommend this over any other area hotels though my rating is specifically for business travel.

2022-05-08Nice facility. Getting to it from the road is a little difficult as there is a median in front of the entrance (can only access the entrance when driving north). Rooms are comfortable, but the suite only has a thermostat in the bedroom, so the sitting area can get cold or hot, depending on the season. The Bistro has a very limited selection.

2022-04-10Clean. Quiet. The kind of location for visiting family. If you’re looking for quick access to the city or a party spot this isn’t for you. Otherwise I was very satisfied.

2021-12-28Stayed here 3 days last week and booked another three for this week. The courtyard never “fails” to satisfy. It is clean, comfortable, and very accommodating. A big shout out to the front desk today( Jose) for making an effort and finding me a microwave.Truly recommended.

2022-04-10Positive: The room was very satisfying Negative: They took fifty Dollars from my card for just holding or for security for the room and never returned the money back into my account. Im very upset about the way they handled that transaction.

2022-03-01Positive: Very quiet location far from the road. Friendly staff. Negative: Difficult to see from the road, even the sign. Slippery hill to walk from main parking lot. No microwave in the room. $100 hold on my card (with 3-5 business day wait), which was more than one nights stay.

2022-03-14Positive: The location Negative: The rooms are free and worn looking. There was no microwave. And the coffee maker was dirty
