This review is on my dining experience and it was amazing. I came with low expectations because I wasnt impressed with their brunch. Little did I know that theres no comparison between their brunch and dinner, both food and service. Staff service was stellar and manager checked if we were happy. Everything we ordered was delicious. When I ordered branzino, I thought to myself that it was just another branzino but to my delight, the sides that came with it were a surprise. The branzino itself was fresh. Everything we ordered such as ceviche, beet salad and tuna au poivre were prepared/cooked to perfection. As coffee snobs, their coffee and cappuccino passed our picky pallet. For desserts, the GIFT (chocolate/ganache inside) was worth the 15 minute wait.Fine dining at its best. Yes highly recommended and we will be back!
I had my wedding here on 10/16/21 and it was amazing! The food is delicious there, (our number one reason for picking this venue), the staff is very friendly and flexible (especially our event coordinator Kimberly) and everything was perfect. They worked beautifully with the vendors we chose to get everything set up and the reception and ceremony area looked fantastic! Some guests even said it was the best wedding they had ever been to, thanks in large part to Kimberly and the amazing staff at Crabtree. I highly recommend this venue for your next event.
Delicious food, excellent service. Restaurant Week is always a great way to try their specialties. I had a pork shank that was tender and delicious. The gentleman at the next table said he didnt eat carrots but the ones that came with the pork were the best he ever had.
Had my wedding here. Better than I expected and could have hoped. The ceremony was beautiful, the food was good and everything in between. The whole process was pretty simple and everyone was nice to work with. I recommend this place, the atmosphere and the fact it has history is great.
Amazing staff and value! Took my elderly parents here. The Inn had ground floor accessible rooms. The rooms were spotless and well proportioned. Dinner was lovely. Great wine list and I cannot say enough about the friendly and attentive staff at the front desk, the restaurant and the bar. Breakfast was just the right selection of fresh fruit/yoghurt, selection of cereals and bread. Just fantastic value for money!
Loved everything there, ambiance, prompt and friendly service, ohhh flavorful dishes with health ingredients, most of all, this restaurant opens on Thanksgiving!!! They decided and became a family for customers who couldnt be with their families and friends. I was so appreciative. Parking is valet.
My wife and I had our wedding here in May 2021 and we could not have asked for a better venue! The staff treated our entire guest list like family, the food was delicious and we could not have imagined a better place to get married. Everything was perfect and have really left us with a memory we will carry with us forever. We are so thankful for their entire team and all the hard work they put in to making our day so special!
A lovely venue with delicious food! Ive had the pleasure of coming to Crabtree twice now. I had a small elopement here last week and I enjoyed their restaurant on a visit last year. There are a lot of good photos spots inside and out and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I hope to come back and work a larger wedding here as their solarium room look amazing!
Came here to have dinner on the off-chance on our way to the Pumpkin Blaze. I flatter myself in saying I’ve eaten at some of the best restaurants on the planet, and while the atmosphere and food here were of course wonderful, what really put it over the top was the IMMACULATE service. We had no less than 9 people attending us over the course of our meal, and they didn’t miss a beat. Never had to ask for a single thing. Truly 5-star old world service. Would honestly make the trip here from Hartford just for the restaurant.
We made an overnight trip to The Inn so we could dine at their restaurant. The historical Inn is charming. Rooms are simple, clean and nicely updated. The dining experience was EXCEPTIONAL. Incredible food, wine & service. My fiancé is a Sommelier and was so impressed with their wine list & the experience provided.Thank you to their Somm Gustavo & the staff who made our dining experience so wonderful!
There were no reservations available, so we called up and they said you can walk in for the bar or there might be an open table. Then the weirdest interaction happens, the main hostess/GM turns up at our table and says did you have a reservation? And I explained no, but this table was open and we got seated here, she said by who? And I say by the hostess and describe her, she then says well you know, you need a reservation to sit here to which I respond with well you guys seated us here.I then explain how the initial server was rude, hostile and unattentive, then how long it took to get menus and rood, mean while we still hadnt received our deserts and its been close to 2 hours weve been seated. She was oblivious to the fact that she basically implied we were not welcome, it was our fault to have been seated, and we were taking too long where we dont control the kitchen or their service. I was really mad and she went off as if she had done nothing wrong.
First time going to this this restaurant last night! Pretty convenient drive right off the highway. My bf heard about it because it won a wine spectator award (not very familiar but Im sure people that love wine do) lmao! All I know is that they have a HUGE wine list (gorgeous cellar Im sure) with prices that are mind blowing (lower then retail) you can see what we chose on the photos below. The ambience of the restaurant was very homey, cozy and just very fine. The place is bigger then it looks; theyre were different parties taking place and a wedding was being held outside which came in (definitely the scenery for it.) The staff were very sweet and welcoming! Appetizers were extremely delightful, entrees ehhh not too sure.. again first time going but were super salty and just not a catch for me and desserts were so delish I forgot to take a photo! Will I be going again? HECK YEAH! looking forward to my next encounter here.
On Nov. 30, 2021, I sent the following email to the management of Crabtree’s Kittle House Inn:“Dear Sir/Madam:“We stayed at the Kittle House Inn in room 1B on the evenings of 11/25/21-11/27/21. It was a place to sleep while visiting our daughter’s family for the Thanksgiving holiday. On the night of 11/27, we returned to our room about 10:00 PM for our normal 10:30 bedtime. When we entered the room, we were astounded by the thunderous noise. It seemed we were directly over the party room and a very lively event was in progress. The extremely loud music--especially the persistent, thumping bass—was rattling the window panes and blinds. We had to talk loudly to each other. It was uncomfortable just being in the room, let alone trying to sleep. Had we been there when the party started, we would have had to leave.I tried calling the desk through the room phone to complain, but no one answered. I called on an outside line with my cell phone and got a recording asking me to leave a message. I walked over to the office and spoke with the man behind the desk. He assured me that the music would stop at 11:00 and told me to call him if I needed to speak with him again.“Eleven o’clock came and went with the room still shaking. I repeated my earlier calls to the desk with the same frustrating results. At 11:10, I called the New Castle police hoping they might be able to do something. They were not able to. We tried sleeping, but that was impossible—I put a pillow over my head to no avail. Finally, at 11:30, the din ceased, although we were too angry to get right to sleep.“What you want more than anything else from a hotel room is a peaceful sleep at your bedtime. Your website says, “For a peaceful getaway…look no further than our…cozy rooms….12 en-suite guest rooms reflect our dedication to excellent hospitality with all the comforts and amenities of home.” That was certainly not our experience, yet our room was among the more expensive hotel/motel accommodations in the NYC suburbs. We most assuredly did not get our money’s worth.“You should have told us that a loud party had been scheduled or at least that we were directly above the party room and might suffer if it were booked for an event. We would have had a chance to find other accommodations. Had we known what we were in for, we would never have taken such an awful room.”Kittle House management’s response after a week: Nothing. Not a word. No apology, no explanation, no offer of even token recompense. Nada. The room had other major shortcomings, although none could compare to the outrage detailed above. The associated restaurant has a reputation as a fine dining establishment (we never ate dinner there), so we expected the attached inn to be of comparable quality, maybe like a high-end bed & breakfast. Instead, the room was more like a low-end motel such as Motel 6 or Knight’s Inn, and not a good one. The room was old but not at all quaint and the bathroom especially was outdated. There was no desk for writing or to set up a computer. Wi-Fi was spotty. Two lights didn’t work. (Instead of the inner-spring mattresses common in hotels, our room had a foam mattress, which some people may like but others will not.) The breakfast was skimpy—no Danish or donuts, no eggs one morning and only hardboiled eggs the next, no breakfast meats, cold food only. You couldn’t pay us enough to go back to the Kittle House.
Im saddened to downgrade my original review. This time my experience was horrible. The only reason they get 2 stars is because of the food and the one food runner. Horrible experience. The servers and management need more extensive training. I chose this place because I went there with my boss and the service was night and day. This time I went with my daughter. Keep in mind she is dark skinned. The waiters started off normal but below what I would expect for a high end restaurant It ended off by blatant ignoring of our table and us trying to just make the best of it. I spoke to the manager who apologize a bit too little to late. Unfortunately I would not be going back there and will definitely not recommend anyone with any melanin to go. I say that because we weree left alone and waiting for so long that I was able to look around and see that the room was filled with Caucasian folk whose wine glasses were filled and tables were clean.aldo the last two times I went was with a table full of Caucasian doctors, my colleagues, and had a radically different experience. Unfortunately, I will never be going back and will not recommend it to anyone. I left the tip that they deservedand made sure the runner got the tip he deserved. Thanks to him our night was not a full waste.
Where to begin?? I originally had a shower booked for my daughter in June of 2020 and thanks to COVID we needed to change it and reschedule for this June. Throughout the whole process of changing the date and the uncertainty of how things would look, Kimberly Ann was my absolute beacon in the storm. We spoke and emailed so often that I felt like I truly made a friend. She made all the preparations so easy and seamless, we had so many beautiful details at our disposal and her ideas were wonderful. Now to the day of the shower! We waited so long for this day to come and it was absolutely perfect, it exceeded my expectations!! The food was incredible, the room looked amazing, the garden was set up so beautifully so our guests could take advantage of the beautiful day outdoors and the staff was so friendly and accommodating.
Several visits to the restaurant and have been extremely impressed with the staff, food, wine/drinks and service. From a date with my wife to a family dinner with my 2 year old child, Crabtree Kittle House seamlessly delivered. Even during the pandemic when staffing can be tough, the restaurant has been outstanding. One of the best in Westchester!
I went to Crabtree Kittle House for Sunday brunch for my birthday this year, and I’m saddened to say I was shockingly disappointed. I had never been to the restaurant before, and was very excited to finally dine at one of the most awarded farm-to-table establishments in Westchester County. I invited friends who drove up from NYC to have brunch at the well-regarded restaurant to show off what Westchester had to offer. I am sorry to say I was embarrassed by the experience. The carriage house and grounds themselves were beautiful, and the stars in this review are mostly for the ambience and rustic charm of the historical estate. However, the food and service left much to be desired. The first course of the four-course bottomless brunch was brought to the table automatically by a runner. It was a sampling of bagels, muffins and fruit served with a portion size of cream cheese that would be enough for maybe one bagel. We were a party of seven, and had to continually ask the servers for another portion of cream cheese so there would be enough to go around, but they continued to bring out a small dollop and got annoyed that we kept asking for enough for the table! The bagels were warmed, but as soon as they cooled down they were hard as a rock and tough, indicative that they were either microwaved or not fresh. Our waiter was less than attentive, and needed to be flagged down several times to take our orders. The second course was probably the best: we had creamy burrata with heirloom tomatoes and the lobster bisque. The third course was by far the worst: one of our guests had a Belgian waffle that was ice cold to the touch, and I had eggs benedict that was lackluster, under-seasoned and skimpy on hollandaise sauce. We ordered two sides of parmesan truffle fries, and one order was perfect and the other order was missing the parmesan cheese and truffle oil (?!) so just regular fries.By the time my party realized we’d all be paying over $50 for hard bagels, cold waffles and bland eggs, we decided to at least take advantage of the “bottomless” part of the brunch. We kept flagging down a waiter for another round of drinks, because no one ever approached the table unprovoked to ask how we were doing , and he said “you need another mimosa… or three?” Um, talk about rude, condescending and passive aggressive. It’s not like we were getting lit up as frat boys, but brunch drinks are the best part of brunch, no need to have an attitude about it. Additionally, many of the champagne flutes were visibly dirty when they were brought to the table, with lipstick on the rims and food crud on the foot of the glasses. I scanned the restaurant for any sort of management to talk to, but there was none to be found. Just very young, aloof hostesses and bored-looking and inattentive waitstaff. Finally, for dessert, my friends had secretly informed the waiters it was my birthday. They brought out a piece of cheesecake with my name in chocolate and a candle in it, which was very nice, but they did not wait for all of my guests to return from the bathroom before doing so. On top of that, it was one of the saddest birthday songs I’ve ever experienced, reminiscent of a Gregorian chant (no kidding).I was surprised how a restaurant with glowing reviews and so many accolades could be so disappointing. Maybe their B-team was working this brunch shift. I hope to have a better experience if I ever decide to return so the place could maybe live up to its reputation.
Went to a bridal shower here and the food and cleanliness were abhorrent! I picked up a “clean” plate from the stack and it had a rotten tomato stuck to the bottom of it! The Cesar salad was spoiled and the pork could not have been any drier. I have been to dinner at this restaurant and the food was great…this experience was the opposite. Proceed with caution ⚠️
Crabtree’s Kittle House Restaurant is an absolute beautiful location. The food was delicious. However, the service was less than mediocre. My fiancé and I were celebrating our countdown to our wedding. The waiter took a very long time to even take our drink order let alone our first course. We wanted to order another round of drinks at the time. It took twenty minutes for anyone to come to our table to check on us. If you want to ambience, this place is great. The quality of service needs improvement.
For over 36 years we have always enjoyed wonderful service & fantastic meals for lunch or dinner. When you want a unbelievable selection of fine wines & enjoy a meal prepared by chefs of international esteemTHIS IS WHERE YOU SHOULD MAKE RESERVATIONS FOR LUNCH OR DINNER NOW
Very disappointing visit. Poor service & shocked no quality control of food coming out of kitchen such as basic checks so cold steak fries never served to customers, check back with table to check if food as ordered (Id hoped for warm, wouldve settled for tepid; instead congealed frites), no drink refresh. Overheard next table similarly unhappy w/our server. Future customers be warned...
My fiancé and I came for restaurant week. The gardens looked beautiful, I wish we had gotten a table outside. The bar area was also cute. We were seated in the dining room, nothing special. We had the beet salad, ceviche, chicken, pork, brownie and bread pudding. Nothing wowed us. Food was just ok. Wine list was phenomenal.
My husband and I had the pleasure of hosting our wedding at the Kittle House this past weekend - a weekend we will remember for the rest of our lives. The entire team went beyond making sure every t was crossed, and i was dotted. They go out of their way to make everyone feel like family, and assure you that no request is too much. The Inn, food, service and atmosphere are all top notch. The Kittle House is a true hidden gem. Enough good cannot be said about Kimberly (events coordinator) and Leo (maître d). They are hospitality savants - something that could not have proven to be more true when booking a wedding through the pandemic. If you are considering Kittle House - GO FOR IT! We look forward to returning for dinner and a short stay for years to come!
My daughter had her Bridal Tea Party Shower here June 5 and I can’t say enough of the amazing food and the great staff. From the moment I met Kimberly she helped me in the planning since we were canceled 2 months before the shower from another venue. She was supportive and calm and very helpful with my vision at the same time giving me some tips on how to make this party awesome. I can’t say enough about the staff especially Lenny who was on top of everyone’s drinks and so polite. All the servers were attentive and anticipated our needs.Of course the food was soooo good that all my guests raved about it. We had the buffet of cold salads, fussilli with creamy truffle essence, eggplant rollatini, trout almodine, salmon with green herb crust and roast loin with honey mustard sauce. Last but not the least the dessert and my favorite is the chocolate Kittle kat tart. I almost forgot the bellinis, mimosas and prosecco quenched everyone’s thirst from a very hot day!Thank you for making this shower unforgettable!
I can not say enough great things about this location and its staff! We had our wedding here on 11/1/19, as well as our rehearsal dinner on the Tuesday before, and each one was AMAZING in its own way! Kim, Leo & Barbara, each helped us create the most magical and memorable evening of our lives, and without them, I dont know how we would have done it. Their professionalism and sense of calm throughout the entire process was beyond anything we could have ever asked for! The food and service was absolutely terrific on each occasion. The location is beautiful, just a perfect space - outside and inside - for the dream wedding we wanted! We couldnt ask for anything more! Just perfection!
Fantastic lunch during Hudson Valley restaurant week. Lovely setting, delicious food, large portions for lunch. We had gnudi and red snapper ceviche, organic chicken and pork shank, strawberry rhubarb tart and brownie. Everything was cooked to perfection, wait staff helpful and unobtrusive. Honored my friends belated birthday with a dessert plate BD message written in chocolate. Good covid19 protocols. We ate inside the historic Inn but there was a beautiful patio with umbrellas for outdoor seating.
From the moment my [now] wife and I stepped foot in Crabtree’s Kittle House, we felt taken care of, and having our wedding there was one of the easiest choices we made in the wedding planning process. It really seemed too perfect. The breath-taking view we took in as we exchanged our vows our in the garden will not soon be forgotten. Everything we ate was delicious. A fully-stocked open bar for our guests and excellent wine selection. The decor has an understated elegance and a touch of country chic. And, perhaps most of all, the service was excellent, both on the day of the wedding as well as during the lead-up. We were blown away by the Event Coordinator, Kimberly. She was our point-person for all things Kittle House, and she took away any and all worries with her responsiveness, her calmness, her flexibility, her enthusiasm—I could go on. The Maitre’d Leo took over on the wedding day, and we were equally blown away by how he anticipated our needs before we even knew we needed something. He seemed to be everywhere and inserted himself at exactly the right times. We couldn’t recommend Crabtree’s Kittle House enough!
Abe our server was most accommodating professional friendly, upon his recommendation we enjoy an excellent bottle of wine Clos La Coutale seasonality priced.Rosanna was a delightful bartender with a great personalityOverall wonderful end of a work week To start off the weekend.
We hosted a bridal shower at Crabtrees Kittle House and also stayed overnight prior to the event. This venue was perfect. The accommodations were very comfortable. The food was delicious. The staff was totally accommodating and very attentive in making our event perfect. The event couldnt have been better. We were overjoyed.
Take your money elsewhere. People love this place, no clue why, so this review is a waste of my time. Bad food -- cold, even worse service. Waited 90 min for cold food and a rude waiter who was annoyed and kept saying how busy they are, doing us a favor. 3 hour dinner that should have been an hour event and it was for nothing, gave us a large bill though. Dinner took soooooo long. Everyone in my group said their food tasted musty, wife said it was like eating an armpit, some eggplant parm thing that was aweful, deff dont order that. Why do people like this place? No clue,, but We are never returning.
The food here is absolutely terrible .. been 3 times and shall never return again. It’s bad when the chef doesn’t know how to cook a steak that’s the most basic thing ... $50 rib eye steak only fit for my dog and even at that I had to think twice before giving it to her. Cold place not atmosphere and staff just don’t give a dame ... surely if you only have few customers you try taking care Of them .. sadly that not what they do .. don’t waste your money there is way way better place to eat in Westchester
I dont know many fancy spots, but Ive been here a few times and appreciate the classy setting. We went for a Christmas drink in the bar room, piano and holiday decorations made for a nice night of snacks and drinks. We also went for dinner another night, and were impressed with the food. Last thing Id say is they make a quality chocolate martini.
For those wine enthusiasts in the know, this place is pure heaven when it comes to their 60,000+ bottle selection from their wine cellar. The historical building is both a restaurant and inn with a rich past that’s worth learning about while visiting. There is a formal dining room overlooking the garden out back and a rustic dining room near the front with a polished pinewood bar and stone fireplace. My mom and I shared an artichoke heart appetizer which was light but flavorful. And my mom ordered the homemade tagliatelle with crab which also had a lot of flavor with a lingering spice. I ordered the venison, which I grew up eating and although the potatoes were good, I wished the meat had more seasoning. The staff were all very friendly, courteous and helpful. Abe was our server and Leo was our sommelier. Leo was kind enough to show us the cellar after our meal which truly was a special experience for myself and my mom.I will definitely be returning to raid the wine cellar!
We had a function here and the service was really incredible. Everything from the attention to details to the fare, it provided an exceptional evening. The valet service is a very nice perk - even saw them not let someone who was intoxicated drive their vehicle away. It’s nice to have a gem like this in our community!
Delicious food, served fairly quickly! The service was a little stiff, but very nice, and could sometimes be personable, which was excellent! I wish they had a better parking situation, the lot was full and we were left to park all the way at the back entrance, which left us walking to our car in the dark. Thankful for cell phone flashlights!
I was there with my family the Saturday before mothers day. The service was okay they could have been more attentive. I never liked a restaurant that only allows you one piece of bread at a time. My brother in law and I ordered the venison dish and did not understand why it was served with very earthy tasting wheatberrys. The dessert however was delicious. Overall a very nice place but to much on the fresh organic side for me.
Very poor stay. Room next door had a large dog barking all night. Called reception and they said animal friendly and they said it is on the web site. We relooked at web site and could not find it anywhere. Room dusty and not as clean as expected. On check in stated $20 key deposit for which I had no problem. When checked out and returned key was told they would credit deposit. Took 4 phone calls to get refund. Very disappointed with complete experience. I know we are in the mist of a pandemic but there are no excuses for this type of stay.
Had a great dinner my wife and 2 friends. I had the 3 course meal with the hanger steak which was done perfectly. Service did a wonderful job as they where very helpful and patient. They came back 6 times with a different wine until they were finally able to find just the right one for my wifes friend who wasnt sure what she wanted. Also the price was not as expensive as I thought it would be. Will definitely be back
The history and authenticity of its age is amazing. It has beautiful grounds and friendly staff. However, expect it to be quirky with not upgraded amenities. The knob fell off our door and the bathroom shower didnt drain. The complimentary breakfast is sparse, nothing fancy for the price.
We had our wedding reception here and everything was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The charming ambiance, the rustic decor, the magnificent food, the impressive service, the attention to detail — we could not have envisioned a more perfect place for our wedding celebration. The events coordinator, Kimberly, truly went above and beyond to give us exactly what we wanted. She created a gorgeous rustic romantic feel with lanterns, candles, ruscus leaves, wine barrels, etc. She was so thoughtful, kind, accommodating, and just amazing throughout the entire planning process. Every bride needs a Kimberly! We are so thankful for the manager, Leo, who made the events of the night run so smoothly. He was by our side the whole reception and thought of EVERYTHING. At the end of the evening, he even arranged extra plates of food and dessert for my husband and I as we went up to our room for the night. We felt so very well taken care of and received glowing comments from all our family and friends. We are so happy that we chose Crabtree’s Kittle House to celebrate our wedding!
We had our wedding reception here almost 30 years ago. Its a place to celebrate special occasions or to just enjoy a quiet Friday night dinner and never disappoints. The Tap Room is our favorite with the live music and eclectic menu and vegan options. The cocktails are original plus they serve the classics. Service is superior but not stuffy. The staff always makes us feel at home. Heres to the next 30 years!
We have dined at Kittle house over the 30+ yrs we’ve lived in area. The food and service are always good however prices seem to be rising in portions smaller over the years. The worst had to of been a week ago when my wife ordered the sea scallops special. It wound up being $38 for only three scallops ! It looked like an appetizer and there were no side garnishes. When we complained to the waiter he said he would talk to the chef. After 10-15 mins he came back with but one single scallop which they had the gall to actually later charge us an additional $18 for! Wow. They wound up taking the $18 off the bill after another complaint and another 10 min. wait. On top of this they charged us for a glass of wine we never ordered or would have ordered. $38 for 3 scallops is a total scam. My venison was good and I did know the price ahead of time, however over the years the portion likewise has gotten smaller. We now know that there are better restaurants with better value in the area to choose from. Kittle House is no longer on the priority list.
If you want to really live, order the Friday night Chicken and meal (veggies, dessert, gravy, salad, truffle potatoes) curbside. Dont get me wrong I was sold on their lobster bisque but honestly this meal is what dreams are made of. Simple yet exquisitely prepared. What a feat. All perfection, from conception to delivery. You wouldnt change one air on its head. Enjoy.
My boyfriend and I had dinner here for the first time a few Saturdays ago. FANTASTIC! The service was excellent, and the staff very professional and friendly. We had several different dishes and loved them all. The poached duck egg makes the top of my list! Compliments to the Chef on excellent dishes, and the dessert, WOW. I will definitely be visiting again and bringing friends.
What a great experience, first time dining with my family at this restaurant. The servers were amazing with the level of details in their services. They were very helpful with the menu, from appetizers to main dishes. My daughter and I had the NY Strip Steak, my wife had Salmon and my son had pasta. Our dishes were perfectly served and delicious, accompanied by a great bottle of red🍷wine. To end end the night, we had the Gelato trio, Kittle Kat cruch bar and cheesecake. What a great place to dine with your family and friends !I highly recommend this Restaurant to friends and family and colleagues.
This place was gorgeous, simply beautiful to behold. The buffet was really something else. Oysters, deviled eggs, bacon, cereals waffles, salmon, every cut of cheese youd want, delicious prosciutto, and so much more. A perfect place for a family celebration or something fancy. The only downside was their Bloody Mary was probably the worse Ive ever had, plain and flavorless.
We had a fantastic experience at Crabtrees Kittle House Restaurant in late December. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and knowledgable. Their vast wine selection allows a number of pairing options. I took a quick tour of the building and they have a number of private rooms which would be great for larger parties (work/family).Being around the Holidays, the ambience and decor were very festive. They had a piano player playing a mixture of classic and holiday tunes and even a Santa and Mrs. Clause walking around greeting each table. We ordered a number of appetizers (picture included), entrees, and desserts. All were extremely flavorful and cooked to perfection.I would highly recommend Crabtrees Kittle House Restaurant to anyone.
What a wonderful dining experience! It is so nice to have a wonderful place to go with NYC quality food, service and presentation. My husband and I got the tasting menu, which was fantastic! Everything listed on the menue looked amazing. The restaurant was pleasantly full for a Tuesday night, and we had a fantastic selections of wine paired with our entres.
We have been coming here for many years. Bragged about it to some friends and invited them for Sunday Brunch. It was a disappointment for us as well as our guests. Everything from the quiche to the beef needed salt. The ham was overcooked and dry. Missed the clams. The food was bland and the service was mediocre. Not at all like our previous experiences. Our guests said they would have enjoyed going to a diner more.We wont be returning.
My favorite restaurant and supposedly Bill Clintons favorite too. I have seen him there. Excellent food, excellent service. If you love wine, this is a destination for you. 4-star restaurant in a historic Country Inn, in a residential neighborhood with views overlooking Mt. Kisco Country Club. Live music, cool bar. A tour of the fantastic wine cellar available when they are not too busy. Great selection of wine-by-the-glass too. Terrific Sunday brunch. Leave time to enjoy this gem. A nice cheese selection too. Ask for recommendations and you cant go wrong.
We came for Thanksgiving. The fixed price menu had limited vegetarian options, and the off-menu dish they served us was fine, but hardly special or worth the price. The house made ginger beer sounded awesome but did not live up to expectations, or even come close to them, and nor did the ginger beer cocktail. The service was fabulous, as was the wine.
We had brunch this past Sunday at Kittle House. Due to the pandemic, theyre offering a la carte service in place of their typical buffet. We ate in the lovely garden where tables were spaced appropriately. Unfortunately, it did not appear that they are otherwise taking covid-19 precautions seriously. The servers were wearing masks, but frequently removed them from their nose and were touching their faces, then handling dishes. About halfway through my drink, I noticed a heavy imprint of lipstick on my glass (not mine). I sent the drink back and when the server returned, he gave the glass to another table. They had words over the glass as the patron explained that it wasnt hers, and then he brought it to me. The patron was eating, and so not wearing a mask, as she spoke directly over my drink. I get that were all learning how to navigate this new pandemic world, but Kittle House is failing on customer safety. As for the food, it was nothing special. The a la carte offerings dont hold a candle to the buffet. The presentation was lackluster and the main course (lobster eggs Benedict) was bland. I wont be back any time soon.
We held our wedding and reception at the Kittle House Inn earlier this month and I had to leave a review...it was perfect in every way. The staff was fabulous and completely attentive to our family and friends. The food drew rave reviews from everyone and the grounds were beautiful for the ceremony and cocktail hour. We could not have created a more perfect day and will never forget it. We are so grateful that we chose the Kittle House...
There is only one thing you need to know about Kittle House: Its the best place imaginable.First rate food and drink. The chef emphasizes farm to table and seasonal cuisine. Ive never had a bad dish here. Every meal at the Kittle House is perfection.Gorgeous gronds including their event space call the atrium, the copper roofed taproom, the colonial dining room, and private dining room adjacent to their world class, award winning wine cellar. The estate also includes an inn with I believe 14 rooms. Each room is stunning, unique and enormous. And finally, the staff is comprised of the most caring and helpful people you could want. John, Joe, Leo, and Kimberly along with the remainder of the service, front of house, and back of house staff are the absolute best. A true joy to know them all!My wife and I were married here and we will continue to frequent Kittle House not only for our special occasions, but for a regular night out too. Please spend your time and money here. They work hard for you and you deserve to have the world class experience they will provide. I promise youll love this place as much as my entire family does.
My family has been going there for years. We live around the corner, so why not?!?! The La Frieda burgers are to die for. The main dining room is very elegant, but the tap room is the place to be if you are looking for something more casual. The restaurant is a little bit on the pricey side, yet totally worth it! The opened up a new restaurant in Tarrytown recently. The inn is cozy and comfortable. Definitely worth trying! Please enjoy!
Food was good. Services was amazing. Staff was very attentive esp Jess, The Maitre D. The valet guy said papi, I dont work for free since I guess I didnt tip him fast enough ( still getting my guests into my car) which was unacceptable. There was no power to the bride and groom room on their wedding night. For the price you pay, it did not live up to expectations.
Crabtrees Kittle House is the perfect wedding venue that goes the extra mile and treats you like family. The Kittle House is a unique venue that allows couples to create exactly the type of wedding they want. Beautiful grounds, the most incredible food and absolutely the best staff/service. They work with you to make sure everything is exactly as you want it for your big day. The Kittle House also has an inn upstairs which has amazing rooms for you and your guests. We loved our wedding at The Kittle House and will definitely be going back to celebrate our anniversaries!
[re visit 2013] Overpriced and overblown, in my humble. Weve given it several chances, but with so many terrific dining options in the vicinity I dont feel the need any more. Food is pretty good, yes, but uppity, snooty service (yeah yeah the Clintons eat there) and crazy prices make for a less-than-pleasant experience. Last time we took an out of town foodie to the pub side and even though place was empty, service was slow to point of rudeness (ten minutes for drink order sitting right next to bar as bartender chatted away to her cohorts?) and the lobster roll our friend ordered was more roll than lobster. My meal was fairly good, my husbands very tasty but that doesnt overcome bad service.
I usually take photos of my food but I had to live in the moment of every bite. My first time here and I know I’ll be back again. My hostess Chris was amazing! (I’m going to guess her name is Christina?) From soup to dessert, every plate was better than the last. There was a musician playing guitar and singing. Perfect for my Tuesday night. Plusssss the bartender, Anthony, is super personable and a great person to have a conversation with. Amazing team, amazing good, amazing Chef Beau. You need to eat here.
My family has had three rough experiences in a row dining here; first the power went out and we had to make do with a pared down menu, the second time there was a huge wedding going on, the kitchen was obviously over-worked and we had to send our steaks back 3 times (no exaggeration), and last night we were seated in the side room (totally lacking in ambience but with a nice view of the car park). So why the 5 star review? Because the staff and maître d were incredibly courteous and accommodating even in the face of my irate mother who, despite her diminutive stature, is a ferocious force of nature. The food is exceptionally good, the atmosphere (in the main dining room) is elegant, romantic and refined, and the waitstaff are simply excellent; charming, friendly and completely professional. It is impossible to guarantee every diner a perfect experience, but I have to say The Crabtree Kittle House do their utmost to make the impossible possible. I ended up having an absolutely delicious time and am looking forward to coming back again soon. Whether or not they are looking forward to having us back is another question.
I had the Great Pleasure of having dinner there last Sunday...First thing i noticed is the Beautiful Historic Building, then how very friendly all the Employees were....I had the Salmon for dinner and it was the Most Pleasurable Evening that i ever had!! A Wonderful Place to have dinner or stay for the weekend!! 5 STARS!! Thank You.
I assume this place must be making a last ditch effort to stay in business. We just returned from a mothers day brunch. My biggest issue was I could even complain because I didnt want to embarrass my wife. The food was overcooked and cold. They stuck us in the basement that was overheated by at least 25%. On top of it all, they charge an auto 20% tip for a buffet. The sad thing is I come here on a normal night and spend well. Never - ever again.
Crabtree Kittle was the only hotel in the Mt Kisco area aside from Holiday Inn and I picked it for its quaint charm. The food at the restaurant was top-notch farm-to-table, and the coconut crack pie dessert I got will be remembered fondly. The service from the wait staff was prompt and welcoming, and they encouraged me to ask questions about the menu or food. With all of the charm of this inn, I have to point out that there were some cons to my overnight stay. The floorboards are a bit creaky and no sound barrier from the hallway noises made by other guests. In addition, the air conditioner in the room did not have much of the desired effect. While the inn staff was very pleasant and accommodating, I was also glad to only be there for one night. I would come back again for the food, not the inn.
If you want a great beer in a rustic taproom, this is your place. If you want fine dining featuring impeccable wine paired with amazing food, this is your place. If you want a relaxing brunch in a garden with a view, this is your place. If you want a private wine tasting presented by people who really know their wine, this is your place. If you want a perfectly planned event, be it a wedding or graduation or holiday party, this is your place. If you want a romantic retreat at a comfortable, quiet inn, this is your place.Make a reservation. Today. Seriously. This is your place.
Got a gift certificate valued at 200 for a dinner for two. But the dinner only cost about 130 on the menu, disappointed that I did not receive the full value of my card. Besides that food was great, staff did seem to rush our dinner order even though the place was half empty.
The room with the bar is beautifully decorated. The room next door with the drop ceiling looked a bit out of place. The drinks were delicious from the bar and the wine selection was good. Overall the food was good. The risotto was a bit to cheesy but everything else we tried was great. The entrees were great, steak and fish. The desserts, Crabtree Kit kat bar and gelato and even the chocolate covered strawberries were great. Would like to come back again if we could get a table nearer the bar. Great country feel in Westchester.
The service here has declined dramatically. The dinner drinks were very very slow to come. Forget about any refills. After ordering desert, didnt see have anyone come to our table and even ask for a refill of the coffee or if anything else was needed. I had to go to the front desk to ask for the check after 15 minutes subsequent to the table being cleared. Wasnt even offered a refill of the coffee by the manage; he said he will talk to his staff. If this keeps up he will much time to talk to them. It appears they are only doing one seating on a Saturday night; I now know why. Ashame, we had our wedding reception there, baptism part, etc.
It was a very disappointing stay, we stayed Thursday night here at room D1 and it was too crowded. The inn was so noisy, we can hear people talking in the hallway. We woke up like 2 or 3 am because somebody was walking down the staircase. We didn’t have a good sleep after that because some people are busy going in and out of the inn. Even our dog was restless. And during breakfast you can’t find any plates even bowls for cereal. Ended up using my butter saucer. Not so impressed with this place.
A couple months ago my family and I decided to eat at this restaurant for breakfast when we discovered a worm crawling in our eggs. The workers did nothing to fix the issue, not even a complimentary dessert or a gift card. Ive been quiet about this issue until recently Ive found out they fired a young lady for something which seems nothing less than racial discrimination. Ill never spend another dollar and this restaurant again.
We went to Crabtrees to celebrate our sons high school graduation. We were welcomed by gloomy, unpleasant, and incompetent staff. To drink we were offered only tap water (I had to inquire whether alternatives were available), after which menus were brought (without the wine list which was brought later, after I prompted for it). The dishes (including 4 steaks) came all vastly overcooked (also, the waiter confused who was getting what), and they didnt taste like 50 day aged beef (as advertised). Certainly not worth the price of $49. The service was inattentive and totally unprofessional. When it came to paying, the waitress said that the computer was off, and she arbitrarily added 20% of tip on top of the price and tax. The place looks decrepit and in bad need of renovation. This was our last trip ever to Crabtrees Kittle House.
This Place Is rude and disrespectful. I was working there for maybe about 2 month, this job was my only source of Income for paying for college and other expenses. The front desk staff are a bunch of rude women. They took me off the schedule to work with no explanation and didnt tell me anything about letting me go until i called them. Even after i called them they acted like they didnt care. And for there lack of communication to Ive been out of work for almost 3 month and still is. I dropped out of college cause i wasnt able to pay for my books or classes for next semester. I am VERY upset with this place. and tbh i think they are racist. If i could put no stars i would.DO NOT YOURE GIVE MONEY HERE IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!
Normally when a restaurant serves great bread the food matches... KH is an exception. Not the food is bad... just boring... and for the price not worth it. As for the extensive wine list.. the cellar is filled with dated wines.. again not much exciting here......just like the restaurant.(Had visited a couple years back.. and unless we hear something changes, this will more than likely be our last visit.)
I have been going to Crabtree kittle house for about 30 years and they have become a very cool and amazing place for dinner at the bar area. The fireplace , music , great food and service were the best I have ever seen in this area. And prices are very fair. Except for a grumpy water boy, the place deserves the best award in my opinion. PS. I don’t rate five star easily and go to many NYC places and generally have high expectations. Bal
Went to kittle house for restaurant week. hadnt been in years. looks the same. had to corner a waiter for menus after everyone after us got theirs. He seemed annoyed. food was good, the steak was a bit chewy but waiter told us in advance. skate was a bit bland. but presented nicely. lobster bisque and vegan buttersquash soup were very good. waiter took food away too quickly as we had to stop him from taking it before we were finished. (he seemed annoyed). Had to hail a waiter down for rolls after he gave everyone seconds bypassing us.(he seemed annoyed), waited quite some time for dessert while others were finishing up. And a big mangy dog came running in and jumped on a womans plate before the woman in the bar and a waiter caught up to him roaming the tables. Fabulous location and old Inn but rest needs to pollish up.
Would give 5 stars if not for this strange experience. I was staying in room 3A alone and just minding my own business when I noticed something strange. I walked in the bathroom and someone turned on the sink.. so I turned it off went back to bed and lo and behold it came back on. I thought that this place is haunted so I took out my ouija board and began to communicate. The ghost told me he was a young boy who was killed on the premises before it was a hotel. I then asked the ghost, in his opinion, how would he rate the hotel and he said “4 stars.”
Overrated and overpricedSalmon, luke warm with a cold and uncooked center, had to be sent back to the kitchen. Swordfish, small lump of tasteless mystery fish, covered with an indescribable and uneatable topping. Entire portion could fit into a small watch pocket.Evening topped off with annoying and cheesy piano music in the taproom.A better bet would have been to send for pizza or Chinese take out.
The place was beautiful the service was horrible its a shame dead waiting get our food on to 10 oclock at night when they should have been sort by 8 oclock you ask for anything and you never got And you went to the bartenders they were horrible none of them smile they all looked like they were forced to be there to work

2022-04-18Totally unimpressed. I don’t count pennies when paying for delicious food, but I hate being charged premium prices for mediocre food. That’s what we received at this restaurant on Easter Sunday. Based on this experience I wouldn’t revisit this restaurant. Our food was cold. The steaks were not cooked the way we ordered it. It was almost like the chef did not know the different among well done, medium, medium well, or rare temperatures. The eggs were obviously from a box and arrived cold as ice. We weren’t served the potatoes that were supposed to accompany or steak and eggs dish. Some people salmon which I was told was also cold and rather bland. Our desserts were served with the ice cream completely melted into a puddle in the plate and the coffee arrived cold. We waited almost 30 minutes to place an order for fresh drinks. For an occasion brunch charging a premium rate I really would look at some other options. There are so many places to eat who knows what they charge but maybe you’ll get something tasty. You won’t get that at Kittle House’s Easter Brunch. Buyer beware.

2022-03-28Absolutely fantastic restaurant. The food was amazing, I had the Pork Shank and the meat just fell off the bone. The restaurant setting was very nice and well stated. The staff could not have been better. They were right there with everything we could want, but NOT hovering or intrusive at all. Our main waiter Lenny was so nice and accommodating, we we’re having a b-day party for my Aunt, Lenny was great in taking our family pics for us. Also, when I go to bars & restaurants, I am always hesitant to ask if they have any single malt scotch, and maybe they’ll have a 12yr Glenlivet or Macallan, this place had at least 25 different single malts from all areas of Scotland & excellent distillery’s across the board. And the prices were not anywhere near what I expected. Worth every penny. 1000% recommend for any special event.

2022-04-14As with most of the places that I tend to visit or do business in, the staff is outstanding and very helpful. This is especially important to me when setting up equipment for a client and their presentation. The menu is varied and very impressive. I chose to eat on the lower end that’s my docking of one star because while it was palatable the mixture of flavors with the Angus beef and the cheese was overpowering. Other than that a pleasant experience. It is high end and is often frequented by the Clintons because they live in the area.

2022-05-07We had a very disappointing meal, which is so sad because it’s a lovely looking inn. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan, and it was so bad I had to send it back. It was layers of mushy eggplant with a sauce that was more like ratatouille gone bad than tomato sauce. There was no cheese except for a couple sprinkles of park on the top. The Caesar salad looked like it had been mixed earlier in the day, and it was soggy with too many croutons and a meh dressing. And they gave me the wrong beer that I ordered. My son’s steak, which he ordered medium rare, was raw and also had to be sent back. For the exorbitant price we paid, it was a disgrace. Hopefully they’ll get a better chef. The positive was the very gracious wait staff.

2022-02-22I was able to book a stay for my girlfriends birthday and paid a visit to the restaurant. The room was very spacious but I will say, the inn is an older accommodation. You will hear normal house noises like radiators going off but the restaurant is updated. We ordered the tuna steak and the filet mignon with both kinds of french fries (regular and truffle fries) along with the kit bar for dessert. All our food was delicious but I’d definitely like to the try the pub side of the restaurant as it was less formal and has ample seating. I even got the pecan pie to take back to our room just to snack on which was also good. I’d definitely go spend another night if I could but would choose the pub side of the restaurant for my next sit down meal. They even had a great fireplace!

2022-06-13I guess we can say this place is cute but far from chic. It has great potential but I was unimpressed to be honest. Food was pretty basic, some poorly presented & plain. The ambience is nice. Cool little theme rooms. Overall they need a good decorator & some good table ware. It had a dinner feel to it. The prices, considerably cheap for what the place pretends to be. The service was good, tho servers felt rushed and overwhelmed at times. I get it, we were 18 ppl. We were oddly accommodated in 2 different tables and they couldve done better, without a doubt. I was actually shocked to see how ppl dressed to come here. One lady came in her pjs...Would I come back ? Maybe if Im really hungry and If it is on my way.Maybe lunch or dinner are a better culinary experience.

2022-01-25A gem tucked away where the setting is magical and the food is delicious. Staff is friendly and drinks are a plenty. A great place for brunch or dinner. Just the ride up to the restaurant is worth it. The food has always been good and the service is impeccable.

2022-01-09If you are looking for a relaxing weekend stay - do not come here. Our first night we were consistently woken up by the rattling and shaking and radiators. Our second night, there was a wedding reception (which we were not told about upon booking). The day of, after asking, we were told the event would end at 11PM. Music was blasting all evening, Not only did it end much later than 11, but the guests all congregated in the hallways for hours - well beyond 1AM. We tried speaking to the hotel staff and the guests directly to keep it down with no luck. On top of this, the hotel staff all leave at 5PM. This is not a service-oriented hotel. Spend your money elsewhere.
