Im so crazy busy that I rarely get around to writing reviews, so this one is later than it should be, because I have never liked a makeup store let alone LOVED one before. Their products are amazing, but their staff are even better. Keith changed my world and made me love makeup. He gave me a quick lesson on applying eye shadow, that made me understand what to do and why to do it and my blue eyes have never looked bigger or more startling. Normally I buy everything online, especially because the store is a little bit of trip for me, but in this case I would rather go in. 5 stars are not enough.
Such an amazing beautiful store and company! The staff is beyond warm and welcoming. Gorgeous selection of organic, non toxic makeup, skincare, hair care, body etc. As a professional makeup artist I try my best to read all of the ingredients of the makeup for my kit. It can be extremely exhausting, and sometimes I have no idea if something is OK. It is so nice to have a store where I dont have to think about if its harmful or not. On top of that the quality is top notch. I work on your everyday women/men who want natural makeup, but I also work with celebs who want a beat face. It is so heart warming to be able to use organic makeup that is still red carpet ready and HD television approved. Reward system is amazing, and nice samples. Love love love. 💖💖💖
This place is FAB!!! Finally a store that has truly clean products and stands behind it. I have never met more knowledgeable staff in a beauty store. The girls are so fun, and they really know their stuff. I have been having issues with my skin for months, and even the dermatologist didnt help. After a few days with credos recommendations, I am glowing! Amazing what happens when we give our body pure ingredients. Wonderful options for sensitive skin and for men! This has it all---perfume, deodorant, makeup, skincare, you name it! I will no longer be shopping at any other beauty place.
Ive been here different day/times and its always busy. Because of this, its hard to get a staff member to assist with testing and answer product questions. I found its easiest to just look up things on their website while in the store. They have a decent collection & makeup comes in good shades variety. On the higher price end but typical for nontoxic cosmetics. Dont forget to get your free samples (and dont be shy to ask for the 3)!
I felt compelled to write a review because before visiting this place, I read the reviews and saw quite a few commenting on the. Egatobe experience in regards to customer service. I had quite the opposite experience, so my guess is that the company has taken heed of the issue and resolved it. I was helped by Allie (Ally?) and she was able to handle the concerns of several people in the store. She was knowledgeable, helpful, kind and very well put together. Very grateful for her help and that a luxury healthy beauty store exists here . 😍
Kevin is amazing, Credo is amazing, what a fantastic combination!!! I’ve taken a couple of master classes at Credo upon Kevin’s suggestions and I have had nothing but wonderful experiences! I feel as though Kevin keeps it real. He is honest about what works for my skin tone and health and he truly believes in clean beauty and Credo’s mission. The store is top notch! Thank Credo! Horrible customer service! It was my very first time visiting a Credo Beauty store ever. None of the ladies in that shift wanted to help I asked a question about a product and they keep ignoring me and my mom. I wanted to know more about the product. I have the vibes those ladies who do customer service in that store have an attitude of DIVAS or celebrity. It was weird to be there. Then when I went to pay no one wanted to come and proceed my purchase. The entire visit was uncomfortable they made me feel like I was less. I wont come back to this store.
I love this store, Kevin is amazing he recommended me an amazing skin care I’ve changed my conventional skin care for clean beauty and I can see amazing results, the staff is friendly and helpful but without being so aggressive. I had the opportunity to go to a class given by Kevin and I enjoyed very much it was so informative and super fun, a lot of tips he gave now are use them in order to look beautiful without much effort.
DEFINITELY check out Credo on Prince St for all of your beauty products/needs, and if you happen to be there during one of Astoria’s shifts, ALL THE BETTER!I had a lot of anxiety leading up to entering Credo for the first time. As an environmentally conscious person, I wanted to find better options than the $5 drug store makeup I purchased in high school, but as a 26 y/o manual laborer- I didn’t know how to even ask for the help I wanted.Walking into Credo was the best thing I have ever done- for my beauty products and for my self confidence. As soon as I entered, Astoria greeted me and asked if I needed any help.I explained that I didn’t know what I was doing as far as makeup was concerned, but wanted to apply a even natural look that helped reduce the sheen of my oily skin. Astoria immediately put me in a chair and began grabbing some of favorite products off the shelf to show me. With each one, she explained why she chose it, how it compares to its “competitors” (referencing personal experience), and gave me an in-depth tutorial on how to use it. She created the perfect natural look that brought out my eyes- using products in my price range. Throughout the demonstration, she addressed my concerns, and offered additional products as needed without ever making me feel like she was selling me something. The entire 45minutes were as natural as a chat between two good friends.I left with the skills and tools to create both a natural look and a more bold date-night look. But, more importantly, I left feeling more beautiful than ever before- and empowered to meet every future formal occasion with an appropriate makeup look. I will never purchase make up without Astoria’s top-notch guidance ever again!I was nervous that the organic nature of the store lineup would create a hyper-judgemental and intimidating environment, but I found the opposite to be true! Astoria and the rest of the staff were nothing but welcoming, happy to share their experiences and offer advice to anyone who asked- from the totally overwhelmed novices (like me) to the advanced user.I look forward to returning in a few months with more questions! Thanks to Astoria and all of the Prince Street staff for turning a potentially stressful day into a very exciting one!!!
I have so much anxiety shopping in a lot of stores. Sale staff can be pretentious, security can be prejudice...I mean, I dont have to write an essay on any of this but the point is, Id much rather online shop than deal with my shopping anxiety but Credo is one of very few places I never have to worry about.Ive been to both the Soho and Williamsburg locations but I frequent the Soho store. Every single person Ive interacted with there was a friggin dream. Helpful but not aggressive and overbearing, courteous but not annoying and condescending.For all of your clean beauty needs I HIGHLY recommend going to see the good people at Credo on Prince St.
I love the concept of the store and the products are overall great. Its sometimes nice just to be able to come in and try a few things that are usually only available online. The staff are usually helpful and spend time to give me advice. However, a few times that Ive been in here (I usually go at least once a month) Ive overheard the staff making mean or rude comments about customers that have just left. This wasnt a one-off, as I mentioned, I go in a lot and Ive overheard this too many times now. I understand they must get frustrated as anyone in a customer service role does, but I think its bad form to berate other customers when there are still more customers in the store, and to do this openly on the shop floor. It creates a bad feeling and I now always leave feeling uncomfortable or with a sense that theyre going to start bad-mouthing me as soon as I walk out, despite the $100s I spend here. Its a very sour grape to what would otherwise be a lovely experience.
Very poor customer service. When I went to the store today I was ignored by the two staff there the entire time (not even a simple hello). I could see other customers were getting the same treatment even though they didnt seem busy and the store only had a handful of customers. I saw that some people were so frustrated that they left without buying as the two staff were chatting amongst themselves. Another customer also complained to me too about how terrible the service is but that she only shops here because of the products. That is basically the only redeeming thing about the store is they have great products that are organic. But if you have the choice - shop online!
Good afternoon,I just came out of your soho shop.It’s the worst client experience I ever had.I came in asking for help to change ALL Amy beauty routine, because I want to try to be more conscious.No help.All girls are laughing with a commercial for a brand... and after just opening boxes and ... texting.I came there by a friend recommendation and you have an excellent selection of good products in all ways.Really it’s a shame I get half of the expected change and I had to cry for help 3 times.I hope it’s not your normal way to treat customers.Best regards.Kelly Dassault.
Zero stars. The selection of products is fine: not the most amazing, nothing you cant find online (at the Detox Market or Aurora Beauty) or down the street at Follain or at CAP Beauty. But its the service thats hilarious. Mediocore in store--at best--but the brow service is a bit of a joke.I had my brows done there one (it was a hassle booking and forget about calling a day or so out to get an appointment). She spent a very long time over-plucking/thinning my brows rather than cleaning up the natural shape (which I asked). It was a 40 minute ordeal and while I appreciate attention to detail, Ive had far better brow shapings/waxings in half the time.Despite this, when my other green beauty place isnt convenient to get to, I was willing to use this as a backup. Before a family wedding, I booked a brow/upper lip appointment; was confirmed both my email and 2 texts from Credo--and the MORNING OF MY APPOINTMENT I got a call cancelling. Alie simply couldnt come in.Ha! Maybe she got a dinner invitation she couldnt turn down but it was the most unprofessional thing and despite trying I couldnt get an appointment elsewhere and I left the next morning for the wedding.Alie tried to reschedule me non-chalantly--but guess what? The world doesnt revolve around your schedule and theres a reason why New Yorkers plan far out to maximize their time. I get that emergencies come up and maybe she wasnt comfortable or articulate enough to convey that--but the way it came off--no attempt to fit me in, no explanation (after being confirmed by them 3 times) was incredibly juvenile for a so-called established business.Alie sent me a brief email a few minutes later offering me a special deal on my next appointment. I emailed back--and no reply. Clearly they were trying to save face without actually following through with any semblance of customer service.The gals at Follain are lovely on the other hand!
Not really amazing customer service... it was okay. I had some questions and it didnt seem like the lady really knew the answer. She did the best she could though.The other lady there had very low energy.. maybe an off day with customer service. This was the first time at this location Im not super impressed..but I will still go to the one in San Francisco when Im there ( amazing experience always) and I will definitely check out the new location in Brooklyn.It was actually a pretty big let down.

2022-06-06I love the selection and have been shopping at this Credo location for years, always with a positive experience. My latest visit however, was different. I visited Sunday afternoon with my sister and even though there was one other customer besides us, the store associates kept making us feel like we were somehow in the way. It was insane, we were swatching makeup, and were repeatedly asked to move so the store associates could get into the drawers to help the other customer. This happened again with other customers who stopped in for 5 minutes. We werent even acknowledged until the very end as we were leaving. I was pretty put off by the overall experience and ended up not buying the Herbivore Botanicals face mask I went there for. I think Ill stick to the UES location or just order online.

2022-08-15I use to shop here in person or online because they carry clean beauty products exclusively and that was hard to come by few years back way before pandemic. Some products are worth the cost and I like supporting smaller businesses. Some products are awful but just recycled those and move on. I adore Michelle, one of their manager who was last in the Upper East side location; she was speaking at an event years ago and that is how I discovered Credo. Here is my issue I visited lately, knowing exactly what brand I wanted but they the staff behaves like I am about to lift something. Let me make it clear, I make more in 1 hr than some of them do in 3hrs and I have no reason to steal anything that might not even work, who would I give it to my designer loving friends. And few months back this still there impatient drama person, sold me 3 to 4 eye shadow that stings it has some sort of alcohol like substance in them. I miss some of the old crew members, they were just easy going. This attitude thing already started a bit before the pandemic, I went in and not one person greeted me but they to be fair young and not the worse customer service.

2017-09-02These ladies are genuinely helpful and talented! The knowledge of their inventory is impressive. I have always felt welcomed and acknowledged when I have visited, even though they can be quite busy. The curation of the products is to be admired! I love this place !

2021-08-11I been to this Credo location a few times. Sometimes, I had a great experience and sometimes, not so much. A few times I felt like the person was actually interested in hearing my skincare/makeup concerns and recommended great products that would work for me. However, there were other times I felt like I was interrupting the staffs bonding time with each other. Recently, the cashier made me feel like she rather be anywhere else than helping me check out.

2020-09-15I love this store. The staff is so friendly and are experts in clean beauty products. Ive ordered online from their website but the in-store experience is so much better. On 9/13 I brought my young daughters in to shop and return empty product bottles. The woman who helped my daughter find a good concealer was so nice. She took a lot of time to explain the importance of skincare and how to apply concealer. Got my other daughter a makeup bag with reward points. The staff is putting in great efforts to keep everything clean.

2022-06-05Edited June 2022: I’ve been to this Credo location before and have always had a pleasant experience. This time, the store associates basically ignored my pregnant sister and I and acted as if we were constantly in the way when we were swatching eye shadows to purchase for my upcoming wedding… The checkout was not the usual experience either — no update on my points and no samples as in the past. Just rushed. We felt so awkward and unwelcome. Really disappointed in the Credo associates today. Extra star for good selection of products (as always).4 years ago: Friendly advice and amazing products! I felt like a kid in a candy store!

2021-07-14Mikayla at Credo beauty in Soho, New York was fabulous! She knew what shade to get us, helped us try tons of great products, and has a calming presence! We so enjoyed our private shopping experience with her!
