The puppies here are kept in such small cages. It makes me sad.Please adopt and dont shop. These pups look miserable . I went in once and the Betta fishes waters were all sorts of colors. They dont look like theyre in good shape.
Great staff, very attentive to your needs. My two little female K-9 received great care. They were groomed with great love. I will take them there now always.
Peter the manager worked very well with me and my brother. He has great customer service and has been treating the puppy we had bought and gives us updates on how she’s doing. They were good and when my puppy got sick they made sure to take her in and give her the care that she needed. Thank you Peter and appreciate the service you provided us.

Complete and utter incompetence. Injured my dog, lied and also made up a random price. Do not groom your animals here.
Last year got the sweetest puppy, by day 5 she wasnt her normally spunky self...and not eating as much. She was seen by vet associated with this pet center and was given fluids and some meds for her stomach to feel better, and was told they couldnt find anything really wrong with her. She took a turn for the worst and I ended up bringing her back to pet shop really scared and just wanting her to get better. Owner made me sign a piece of paper, so he could try to nurse her back to health and she died 2.5 days later. Owner basically accused me of the dogs undiagnosed sickness....Dont buy pets here. Lesson learned. RIP Oreo

I have been a customer of crosby Pet center for 15 years, Puffy my llasa apso and my previous dog Puffy 1. The staff is great, the groomers are fantastic! Lynette, tracy, and all the others. I highly recommend Crosby pet center If you want see your dog happy and clean. They have the best foods not that supermarket artificial food. And all kinds of tick and fleas colors and shampoos and beds ,and more. Thanks Crosby pet center from Puffy and owner Milton.
My best experience yet! Peter the store manager is one of the most knowledgeable, patient and friendly people out there! I trust him and his staff 100%. I go there for all my cat needs, as well as it is great to get supplies for my Bearded Dragon and Parrot all in one shot! Also they have a huge fish selection, especially compared to the other pet stores in the area.
If you’re looking to purchase a healthy puppy look no further than the Crosby Pet Center located at 1626 Crosby Avenue in the Bronx. I met Jimmy at this pet store and the customer service and care they provide the puppies is outstanding. Jimmy made my purchase go very easily and he had all the new puppy paperwork all filled out and ready for me to review and sign. And they have everything you need for your new puppy at this pet store. My new Maltese baby boy came with a microchip and all his papers and shot records. Jimmy made it very stress free for me. All the employees at the Crosby Pet Center were very genuine and caring and I would not hesitate to highly recommend the Crosby Pet Center to anyone looking to buy a high quality healthy pet plus all the food, toys, carrying bags, shampoo, treats, pads, leashes, collars and so much more. Most cozy and welcoming local Pet Store i’ve being to. The store is very clean and the animals look healthy and very clean. The staff are very kind and knowledgable, they make you feel comfortable and are very devoted to their job and the animals in the store. The grooming services are affordable and done by professional groomers who love and dedicate their time and passion for animals in every single service they provide. I love how my dogs are treated and how beautiful they look after their grooming section. And lets not forget the great variety of products they carried, all great brands of foods for dogs and cats, as well as gerbils, reptiles and aquatics. Five Star times a 100! Great place, will be visiting all the time!
I totally love this place, they are polite and treat my baby Bella great. They have variety of food for my Yorkie and also for other animals. The puppy prices are amazing 👏
Dont come here for fish. Bought a healthy looking gourami and 1 day later he was showing signs of coulmanaris. Ended up losing him after a week of treating and now the fish in my tank are starting to show signs too. Might lose my whole tank cause of this.
Ive been shopping at Crosby Pet Center for years. I got my first dog (Maltese) from here about 15 years ago, and my Shih-Poo 3 years ago after my Maltese passed. Unlike a lot of other places that sell pups, Crosby Pet Center has USDA bred puppies. I would never support other stores that sell Puppy Mill pups, but when shopping here I know they come from the best breeders. Both of my pups came with a microchip and a bunch of information about them and their parents. I shop here regularly for dog food, fish, aquarium accessories and everything else they carry. The staff are extremely knowledgable, kind, honest, and patient. The groomers are excellent and treat your pets EXTREMELY well while grooming them. When I started my aquarium, the staff recommended me everything I needed for it to be successful. I went to a few other stores to get an idea on the price of a full aquarium set up and other stores (the big chains) tried to sell me more products than I needed. Ive had my aquarium from Crosby Pet Center for almost a year and its been great. The workers advice was extremely helpful for a first time aquarium-keeper, and all my fish are alive and well. I would definitely recommend shopping here. Its a one stop shop for everything you need pet-wise. Dont support large chain stores who mistreat animals only to make millions of dollars off them each year, and instead support your local businesses. Crosby Pet Center will always have me as a lifelong customer.
I have been going to this pet shop for about 12 years, maybe longer. The owner is very knowledgeable, if they dont have the animal you want he can order it. Its the only person I like in the Bronx. Also all his animals are healthy. Even the fishes look to be in good shape.
I’ve been using Crosby Pet Center for all my pets supplies for well over a decade . The welcoming and knowledgeable staff is always more than happy to help me choose the best toys , foods , and diets throughout their lives from puppy to adulthood . As my little ones got older their food and exercise requirements had changed and their staff was right there to guide me as to what would keep them healthy and active. My dogs are also from Crosby Pet Center and still remember the staff as if they are family. It’s wonderful to have a neighborhood business that is always there to welcome you and your fur babies with a smile. I highly recommend this pets friendly store for your pets food , grooming, or just to stop by and let your dog choose a new toy or treat from their large selection.
Great local pet shop. We used to go to a large chain store. Realized we could get our brand of food and even the dogs groomed there, all within walking distance of our home. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Groomer was very patient with my hyper and loud Pomsky. And we just bought our third dog there!!!!
I been getting my maltipoo Mickey groomed here since apuppy hes now 6yrs old l love these girls theyre great!!!
About three years ago I moved into the Crosby area and was so happy to have a neighborhood pet shop close by. At the time my dog was still a puppy and I needed help with the best food treats etc for my picky eater. Everyone has always been so friendly and helpful. I even take my Gambit there for Grooming and they always do a good job. Im in there 2-3 times a week sometimes. It doesn’t get better than Crosby pet shop! Thanks for everything.
SO EXPENSIVE FOR NO REASON!!! prices are so unreasonable also one time i went there to look for a bird towards the back and it sounded like the groomer hit a dog. i didn’t see it but i heard a bang then a whimper from a dog followed, not accusing just stating what i’ve heard.
Annette who did the grooming for my cat was FANTASTIC! We made a last minute appointment and she took us in right away. She was so sweet and made me and my cat feel so comfortable. I knew my pet was in good hands. You can tell the people that work here are animal lovers and they are very helpful. Thanks so much and I will most definitely be taking my pets here from now on!

This store is horrible espeically when it comes to grooming pets. Anytime I brought my dogs in to get a haircut they always came back with cuts on their paws or genital area. Also, my dogs behavior would be weird after picking them up. I got a sense they were not treated great there. I would not recommend bringing your pets there to be groomed.

I LOVE this pet shop. As someone with 3 bearded dragons, 3 cats, a cockatiel, 4 parrot fish, and a chameleon I won’t go anywhere else for all my pets needs. Pete and wilkins know everything there is to know about exotic fish and reptiles while cathy is my go to for any and all knowledge about birds. I highly recommend coming here, they never disappoint
Have been goinh to Crosby Pets for over ten years. NEVER had an issue except for Annette. I left my 3 dogs to get groomed, trimmed and nails cut. She gave my Yorkie a summer cut, (it’s fall) DID NOT ask for it. Left my other dog without a nail (he now limps!!!) I WILL NEVER leave my dog in her care EVER AGAIN. Not once did she apologize, doesn’t pay attention. The other ladies are great and pay attention to your request and your fur babies needs.
I know someone who bought what they were told was a perfectly healthy puppy from here just for that puppy to be sick a few days after bringing her home. She was rushed to the vet and turns out she had Kennels cough. The owner paid over $1000 in vet bills on top of paying over $1000 for the puppy. I highly recommend doing your research and asking TONS of questions before buying a pup. These people will tell you anything you want to hear for the money.
I was charged $70.00 for a small terrier to be groomed, ears cleaned, nails clipped. I picked up my dog and was told by the groomer that the nails werent all clipped, the haircut wasnt all done because the dog wouldnt cooperate. I get that but then dont charge me for a complete job.NOT HAPPY.
Wouldve given a one star if it wasnt for the actual good in this place. They take amazing care of the animals here and Kat has treated me so well since Ive become a customer. Even bought my first puppy here. But If I knew then, what I know now and they didnt have the puppy of my dreams there, I wouldnt have spent my money in this place at all.The grooming wasnt where the line was drawn, but I did have my own experience in this category. Ive seen people walk out so ecstatic over their done up dogs. However that wasnt the case for me. When I dropped off my puppy, me and my mother spent ten minutes telling the groomer what we wanted. But when the puppy was returned, she did everything we specifically begged her not to. He looked like a completely different dog and not in a good way. Thankfully his hair will grow back no problem, my main issue was that fact there was no apology given and she tried to make it seem as if we requested her to cut the dog this way. I did research on grooming and the specific cuts that fit my breed and it does require different strategies to other cuts. I wouldve appreciated if they didnt make me feel stupid, trying to tell me they had to do it because of baby hair and other excuses. Let people know if you only know how to do one thing. I know what we asked for. I paid a lot of money for tears.What really got to me here was the owner. Me and my mother both encountered him on two separate occasions and got the same disheartening experience. Im a grown woman that has spent over $2000 in two months alone (and would have gladly spent more despite the pricing being a bit much), have been loyal and spoke nothing but good about this pet store. Ive actually hyped it up and told people to check it out. But upon meeting the owner, he spoke down to me as if I were a child. My mother described him as rude and I got my personal taste of that rudeness. Before this, I chose to /deal/ with the CLEARLY /overpriced/ items at this location. I held my tongue and afterward, took my money elsewhere. I am a person of respect and that was something he didnt have. I wont support that.Just like any other relationship- starts out beautiful, then slowly leaks its true colors. The owner is the reason me and my money wont be coming back here anymore.

Dont got to a place that sells puppy mill dogs. Thank God the law was passed to ban dogs from being sold in petshops. It will be enacted for 2022!
I recently purchased a 2mnth old mini dachshund at Crosby Pet Center. This is the 2nd puppy Ive purchased from them. Katherine and a younger female employee assist me with my new fur baby from beginning to end. They assisted me with all the paperwork and getting him ready for his forever home. Bailey is such a happy puppy and was well cared for by these people.
Will never come back to this store ever again, went in to get my dog a chew toy the second i ask for it i am told I need to leave because my dog is not allowed in the store. I Dont know if this a breed thing or some new policy where you cant bring a puppy into a pet store to buy something. Did not even get an explanation just your dog is not allowed in the store.

The products and groomin are fine, but DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT buy animals from there. I bought a guinea pig a while ago, super sweet, but he had an infection on the right side of his brain which could be clearly seen from the discharge in his ear, eye, and nostril. I have been there recently and the dogs are all in tiny cages. But that is not all, their guinea pigs are all shoved into a tiny cages. The worst part is that I saw one of the guinea pigs RIP THE EAR OF THE OTHER. And when I alerted one of the employees, they take the wounded piggy out, but not the violent one. So I cant say the best care us applied there. Please dont buy the animals to support them.

Tracey that does the grooming she is excellent, Took my 4 poms there for the first time, Tracey and the other girls that work there did an excellent job, the dogs looked clean, smelled good and the grooming it self was outstanding no scissor marks at all, we found our new Pet store in the neighborhood !

We got our Shiba from this awesome place. They also introduced us to a great brand of food for his allergies.
Animals arent taken care of, all the dogs are anxious and miserable. Guinea pigs are depressed in their small tank. No stimulation is given to the live animals.

2022-02-19Purchased my first ever puppy from here and the service was amazing! They let us do a down payment with no credit check gave us a week to bring the rest in. Staff helps you pick out the necessary items needed to make your pup as comfortable as possible on their new forever home! Puppy is now fully vaccinated and healthy! Growing so fast! Would definitely come back and buy a puppy from there.

I was greeted right away and was asked if I needed any help which i did and they were able to answer all my questions and they helped me find a food for my fussy fur baby. 2022-03-31Short round woman with glasses and short hair very unprofessional on the phone, then made excuses for her poor unprofessional behavior and manners in person. Once situation being defused again wanted to be obnoxiously unkind unprofessional and disgusting in front of a crying child because she couldnt be professional enough to say at several different opportunities the dog we were interested was being sold. Instead told us she needed a minute so we walked around the store. Then we were told while we walked around the dog was sold. She is heartless and despicable. If she is like this with humans and children I feel bad for their animals.

2022-01-26Purchased my second adorable little ShihTzu puppy that we have named Ryder from here. The manager and young woman were very helpful with the process. I am so happy with my little boy he is healthy and so happy in his new home.

2022-01-12I went to this place today, hoping to have a better experience than some of the other reviews I read. Instead I was totally ripped off. I asked for a small fish tank with a light and filter. They told me thats what I was buying. It has neither and cost me $40 for a 1 gallon tank with nothing...not even the gravel.

2021-12-11Just found this store yesterday while looking for a new food for my dog. The staff were so kind and helpful with helping me find a food that my picky fur baby would enjoy! 2022-03-01Nice clean and good customer service.. the only thing I can say that they can work on is the algae in their fish tanks, the tanks look clean its just the algae thats on the inside, back and on plants that make it look bad besides that grate place to shop ..
