Crunch Fitness - Amityville in other cities:
Thank you Crunch Amityville team for doing such a great job at keeping the gym immaculate and safe for me and my family to come too. Everyday I am here staff is cleaning, sanitizing and keeping it positive. Wipes are everywhere and people are using them and doing their part to keep the equipment clean. I love how the staff actually cares when a member is not wearing a mask correctly and they walk around telling them to do so. You guys are going above and beyond and my family and i thank you for that! Keep up the great job!
So much love for Crunch Amityville. Awesome staff! Friendly, welcoming and super helpful. Gym is always clean, and so much room, even when it’s busy you can make the workout work! Locker rooms are always clean and sauna is too! Great price with tons of equipment! Highly recommend for all gym goers from beginners to advance!
Love this gym!! When Big Al’s closed I had no hope for another gym within walking distance. I tend to go at a time that’s not too busy, so it’s crowds aren’t a bother for me. I just wish there were more machines. At the old gym they had so many for “regular” people that didn’t lift. I’d love more of those! Otherwise, it’s a great place and I’ve always had good experiences going. It’s not too expensive either!
Ive been coming to Crunch for a while now and really enjoy it. The staff is so friendly and the classes are great! I also train with scott who is amazing and has been training me for a while. I love the results I see with him! Also the gym is very clean and the machines are never broken!
Great facility when it opened. However it’s becoming way too overcrowded. There’s never parking and there’s not enough room in the weights section always a struggle to find a spot. The tanning booths and massage area is great but it seems like they are never cleaned. At this point I’m contemplating going back to my old gym where it’s less crowded and a lot cleaner. Again this place started off strong and I was hoping it stayed that way but to have to wait for machines or benches at all times of the day is getting to be a little too much.
I was loving this gym when it first opened. It was super clean, the staff is great, owner very courteous and friendly. Unfortunately, as of late its taking a big turn on the downside as far as cleanliness. Seems like its getting a bit neglected. Its a shame because it is so convenient for me, but since its becoming so dirty I take the ride to the Crunch in Bellmore which is much cleaner.
Place says no judgements in huge writing all over, yet they judge you based on a vax mandate, which is implemented by their company and not the government. Will take my business else where... also not allowed to excerise without the vax but they made me come in person to cancel. Ironic...
Crunch fitness in amityville is awesome! From the minute you walk in, you can feel the energy and it only gets better from there. I was so taken back by the atmosphere, that I was encouraged to sign on with a personal trainer on a weekly basis to maximize my time there. 2 months in and 13lbs later I cant help but rave! I also need to make mention of the extreme cleanliness of crunch. The patrons and employees pride themselves ensuring the establishment and machines are in top shape!!
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! It may look nice!! But the gym is a health hazard! The roof is constantly leaking in different parts of the gym. The foam ceiling is starting to fall down from the roof leakage. There have been wild animals running around inside of the building. Plus the parking is a NIGHTMARE. They also are NOT a judgement free zone as I was insulted by staff members about my appearance. It is also dirty!! I wish I had the option to add pictures to show animals in the building and the leaking roof plus the area with the foam ceiling thats FALLING down. Added pictures.
So happy crunch in Amityville is open again. I have been going back since they reopened and I am very happy with how they are keeping customers safe! They take temperatures, ask questions before entering, and require masks at all times. Wipes are everywhere and you can only use every other machine so you are not really near others. I am glad they reopened and think they are doing a fantastic job keeping us safe! Thank you crunch!
I got surgery and have been calling for four days to freeze my account there is never a manager at this location I love the instructors for the classes bathroom and the yoga rooms could both have cleaner floors disappointed some of the old staff that was not very nice are showing back up at the Amittyville location

2022-08-09I really like this gym, the front desk people are friendly, trainers are phenomenal, there is a decent amount of equipment and I enjoy the classes. The only problem that I wish they would somehow fix is the PARKING! It discourages me from coming at certain times and more frequently because I know it will be packed and I don’t feel like waiting for a parking spot.

2022-04-04I liked it, but the parking lot is limited, and due to the street the gym is on, you can easily have a car accident trying to get out. I liked it has a sauna. The bathroom was not cleaned as frequently as it should, but the gym itself is nice.

Cant imagine working without him...so much better than I was 6 years ago when I first started working with him..mobility, arthritis mitigation, strength... Im in a different place totally.

2022-07-26Gym is a huge let down. Totally feminist leftist ran. Make a big deal of deadlifting bare foot or small minor things but ok to not reracking weights

2022-08-02Pretty happy with it so far. Gets a bit crowded at times but gym is quite large. Would love to see extended weekend hours. That will probably be what most motivates me to go elsewhere if I do.Edit: After a year of lifting here 2-3 times a week I have decided the gym can improve the following:- More plates in general, but particularly change plates. Plates 10 pounds or less are a hot commodity and people regularly have to share and wait for them (some people will even swoop in and take em without asking).- Better hours. This seems like a corporate set thing, but later weekend hours would probably combat a lot of the crowding. Also its annoying to remember when the gym closes on different days. Assuming two people can monitor the gym, it would cost about $400-$500 in labor weekly to keep the gym open until 11 every day. Corporate should stop being cheap.- More racks and benches. Thankfully there are a decent amount of racks, but during peak times it can be tough to get one or work in. There are only 2 flat barbell benches. Would be nice if all 4 of the barbell benches were adjustable instead of fixed angles.- An additional angled leg press. Dont use it much personally, but it seems like there are always people waiting for it.- Better maintenance of cable machines, and more cable machines. These are heavily used and I often see them out of service.- Safety hooks for the crossfit area. This is a nice overflow area to squat when classes arent held. Would be nice if there were some safety devices.- A few more barbells. Sometimes there is a free rack but a missing barbell. Bummer.Improvement idea: move all of the esoteric 2nd floor equipment to the room where the stretching mats are. Use the newly found space to put more free weights, racks and benches. Some things that remain awesome and of note:- Ive never seen this many bumper plates and olympic lifting platforms at a commercial gym at this price point. More racks and benches would allow more people to explore olympic lifts in these spaces (as of now a lot of people use the spaces for squats and deadlifts).- There is a great variety of cardio devices. Rowing machines, stairmasters, ladders, that crazy arm bike thing, in addition to the usual ellipticals and treadmills.- Nice group of regulars. I see a lot of the same people weekly.- Have never actually seen someone use the monkey bars, but its cool that theyre there.- Parking is terrible. I have no good ideas for this one short of dropping a few million on a parking garage. Saturday mornings are the worst, closely followed by the after work rush during the weak. The crossing situation is dangerous for pedestrians and miserable to drive through as a motorist. Best solution I have is to suspend memberships of members who jay walk. Got energy for the gym? Youve got energy to walk over to the crosswalk.Overall this is a decent enough gym at the price point, but the main thing that keeps me coming is that it is minimally viable and close to my home (and that there is another location near my work). More plates and equipment would make the experience much more pleasant during peak hours. Longer hours could mitigate some of the crowing during peak times.

2022-04-11If you are looking for a great place to actually lose weight or tone up, this is the place. I was looking for a personal trainer to help me pass my agility test. I had not exercised in years

2021-04-28Excellent gym. Clean at all times. Plenty of equipment. Rare that I’ll find any machine that has issues. They definitely keep up with maintenance. Overall, awesome. Work out here. You won’t regret it.

2020-08-26Was so nice to finally be back at a gym. Home workouts were feeling so tedious. First off was greeted with smiling faces at the door. The person taking temps and asking questions was super kind and friendly. She is definitely a people person. The gym was immaculate and I saw two people walking around sanitizing the equipment continuously. The members also seemed pretty keen on wiping down before and after, but I think thats just an old habit cause no one likes to sit in someone elses sweat. It was my first time in this gym in ages. As always there is a plethora of equipment and weights available most machines available in duplicate if not triplicate. It was nice to see it hadnt changed much. I look forward to going back at various times. There was no wait when I got there around 1530 on a Wednesday.I feel like this place is definitely taking covid 19 seriously without overdoing it. Gyms like this one should have opened ages ago. This gym felt cleaner and safer than my local grocery store!!
