CTown Supermarkets in other cities:
Open on Christmas and they had Malta Goya Light for The Queen of Healthy Latin Cooking! I was just looking for green beans. Other markets were closed. CTown to the rescue! In addition they had GoodO Diet Kola Champagne too! Staff was helpful, courteous. Clean store. Nice selection. Very Latin feel which I always love.
Excellent Super Market. They have the best prices and freshest vegetables in the area. I can find all the herbs and vegetables that I need there and some hard to find fruit and vegetables such as Rambutan, Taro, Shiitake Mushrooms, Aloe Leafs, 2 types of Cilantro, 2 types of Parsley, 2 types of Eggplants, Green Plantains, Lady Finger Bananas, Cooking Bananas, Cactus Leaves, Dragon Fruit and much more depending on the season.Just to compare prices you get about 5 stems of Cilantro for $1.50-3.50 at a regular supermarket. At C-town you get a HUGE bunch for $1-$1.50. As a tip just leave what youre going to use in the next week on the refrigerator in a place where it doesnt get squished, the rest, just wash it, cut it and put it in a Ziploc bag on the fridge. It will last you up to 3 months depending on how much you use it. It is great for stews, soups, chicken, potatoes, vegetables, salads, sauces.
At two different times two young men who work there tried to be extremely inappropriate and flirtatious. When I told me that it’s inappropriate to behave that way when working, they continued. The first time that it happened I let it go and the second time I had to speak with the manager.
Well if you arent Mexican they look at you like you dont belong there. I was looking for something specific for my daughter and asked the guy at the service desk about it and he was no help at all so I walked around to look for what I needed and he was watching me like I was going to steal something. Felt very uncomfortable....
I love the supermarket. Good variety of veggies and other stuff. But I am here to complain about the fish section. I had three bass in bowl while I was waiting for the gentleman to weigh them and give me a price sticker . The guy kept talking to two ladies for over 15 minutes while I stood patiently . He didnt even look at me or tell me he`ll take care of me after he is done with them. To me it looked they were just gossiping. Eventually I had to put the fish back and leave the store since I had other things to attend. Very unfortunate.
Typical Hispanic market. Pros are they have an international aisle where you can get international and hard to find seasonings and what not. Cons are you really have to be careful of the meat. Some of the meat they sell is obsolete, discolored and previously defrosted and refrozen. Beware of leaky meat packages with brown, green and black spots. Also watch the prices cause several times Ive shopped here and was charged more than the price tag on the item or more than the sale price so pay Attention at checkout out.
This is the place to come for cost effective and decent quality produce. Their meat products; however, unless there is a sale, are priced quite high, especially for the population of hard working, lower to middle income community they serve. This was always my go to store for produce. Occasionally their groceries were on sale. One day I found a sale of EVOO. There were only two bottles left, so I put them in my cart. At checkout, I was charged full price. When questioned the clerk she called the manager over. He said the products were mis-marked and that if I wanted them, Id have to pay full price. At the time I was not aware that Management has the right to not be complicit with mis-marked products, so when I told him he had to honor the price marked, he got in my face and arrogantly told me either I buy the product NOT AS MARKED & @ full price, or I dont! I am a woman and a senior citizen and his in my face arrogance was intimidating so I let it go. I complained to the Main office but they didnt have even the decency to acknowledge/address my concerns. I have discouraged everyone I know and will never return there. Where there is NO RESPECT, there is no sale. I go to MeatFarms now and am treated with the dignity and respect that every consumer/person deserves!
Good prices overall. Convienent to stop here omw home to pick up a few things Im out of. I like several items they have packaged from the deli, especially their red-skin potato salad & Seafood salad, mixed cheese cubes, & Halavah. Unfortunately the quality of their produce dept is far from appealing. The arrangement & selection of produce is good but unfortunately the quality of a majority of their produce is really disappointing. The amount of rotting/spoiled/old produce out on the sales floor is unacceptable. More often than not this is the case for a most if not all of whats available in the display of several different vegetables or fruits. Ive worked in the produce dept in a supermarket in the past & we never left produce in bad condition on the floor; no one would buy it anyway but once customers see that they would be reluctant to trust buying anything from that batch. Wed rather have no eggplant than bad eggplant out.
Ctown in Farmingville NYis the Worst place ever!!!!Cashiers and the other employees are very rude even the managers are rude and with an attitude. The attention is the worst, I used to do my shopping at ctown because I like the prices and I could find everything I was looking for. I never like the fruits and vegetables because they were always rotten. since I had a bad experience with a meat department employee and the cashier I never went back there. I might visit the one in central íslip but never again the one in Farmingville.
The produce quality and cost factor cant be beat. Unfortunately, thats where the accolade stops! Ive been a C-grown customer for many years, formerly at their Farmingville/Medford location on Horseblock Rd. Two years ago I purchased a bottle of EVOO that was marked down. When I went to pay for it the Manager, whose name escapes me at present, was standing nearby the cashier checking me out. The product registered a higher price than marked, so when I questioned the cashier he took over, was loud and antagonistic, and in my face!!! I returned a save-face fury on a however minimalist level, as many of my neighbors looked on in shock at the way I was treated. I left my purchase (which would have totalled over $100) on the counter and walked out. Two of my neighbors did the same. I have never returned. I sent Corporate an e-mail, and to this date there has been no acknowledgement if my complaint.I would rather get less quality and pay more and be treated with respect, than COMPROMISE my ethics to save a buck!!!
I always go to that super market because I like it but the manager is very rude, they are there to serve the client not to be humiliating with one, I buy with my money I will not ask. I told the cashier that she waits for me that I just wanted something that I needed. I am not available every day to go to the super market for purchases and the manager angry about that instead of giving me what I needed made me feel bad. The owner should do something because that man has to improve his ugly attitude that he has ... I hope to God he will not leave another weight there.

2022-05-21First time visiting this store in quite awhile. PRO: Was instantly impressed with the bright lighting and organization of the produce. Seafood department was on point (purchased 2lbs of fish for tacos). The ethnic spices were amazing and picked up several. Staple items were impressive as far as dry goods sauces and general pantry item. The staff was friendly and very helpful, A++. CON: Bread selections was lacking (its BBQ season and the burger/hotdogs buns were not up to par). Also they didnt have the Amaretto coffee creamer that I have been looking for, lol.

2022-05-26I like it but should made easier to find things. Saying that, they carry a large quantity and variations of products from different close-by regions.A great place to shop for South American and Caribbean products.

2020-05-29CTown was surprisingly clean and showcased great variety of fruit and vegies, including exotic and hard to find ones, at lower than expected prices.Fresh fish market had good quality salmon steaks, trout, bluefish and much more. They even had humorous approach to shortages, like by the shelf full of paper towels, the sign said, that they had plenty of those.Fun and inexpensive place to shop at once in a while.
