The manager, the dark skinned lady with dreads has a serious attitude problem. she claims to be the store manager. not sure if her name is Rudy or Jean.. but she is very unprofessional. She is very belligerent and disrespectful, especially over the phone. Shes horrible towards many people, Ive even witnessed it in person, whilst she was on the phone with someone she was grunting and rolling her eyes. if you dont like your job, get another one?? Shes acting as if shes forced to work here. What is the yelling for? Verbal aggression? Awful service, period.
The best experience at this facility. Ali was the first to settle me in 6 months ago....and through time Roudy the manager had helped us as well. She is amazing and sooo helpful and understanding of what my Husband and I need in terms of convenience. So happy I moved from public storage where the employees didn’t care to know us. They are always asking me about my son and get happy to interact with him. Even he looks forward to saying hello to them. Calls them his friend. Thanks ladies for being you and so professional and friendly.
I left this location in tears. I called to enquire what time location would be closing and was told 6:30 pm. I arrived at 6:15 pm and was denied access because it was too close to 6:30. I believe the employee’s name is Jean Pierre. She denied me a cart to tow my belongings on and said for me to do what I have to do until 6:30. I proceeded to offload my van because there were other clients going in and out unloading as well. She was very belligerent and yelled to the top of her voice using foul language, that I am here every week and she’s always seeing me. I feel very violated and disrespected in front of the public. No way should a customer be treated that way. Everyone around stated that they also had a negative experience with this employee before. Because I asked for her name to make a formal complaint she threatened to evict me from her cubesmart and ordered me to leave her premises using explicit language.The internet has closing time as 7PM. She denied me access because I arrived at 6:15 PM. Check the cameras on this day. You can verify that I came with enough time. To be treated this way is inhumane. She did not know if I had to empty my van so that I could have room to sleep in it. The language she used and the treatment of me in front of other customers is unacceptable. I have been a loyal customer to cubesmart for many years but I have to rethink that.As I was leaving a truck came with persons who was let in. This is unfair. Equal opportunity is not upheld nor respected at this establishment. I came there stressed out and left feeling much worse. What a pity!
Customer service. I worked with two customer service rep. The 1st Ms. Ali was very professional and polite. Because of her professionalism, I decided to get the locker. Then on sign up day, I met Ms. Jean-pierre. She was rude, cutting you off when you are talking, will not answer questions but responding by insulting customer intelligence. I received a call from my institution same day I signed up that I have to stay in NY. So the Next day, I came back to return the locker. She was there again macro-managing what Ali was doing, refusing her to even mention refund option. So not even We are sorry we cannot refund you. I paid $45 and next day I dont need the locker anymore due to schedule change and nobody even mentioned refund options. I will certainly recommend CubeSmart but not this one unless this change of customer service attitude from Jean Pierre. People may come to look for storage maybe because some stress going on in their life, and yet this girl added more. What a shame.
This place is great! Ive rented space from a lot of different places and this one was the best! The place is clean. The people are very friendly, polite and respectful. It didnt matter the question or concern, they always responded nicely and promptly. I would recommend this location any time.Manager is Tyasia Brown.
The ladies at the front desk are so pleasant! Everytime I need to go inside, they are so welcoming and create such a friendly environment. I feel really confortable asking for help or briefly chatting about their day.I wish there was a garbage can, somewhere in the separate storage building... There isnt a LOT of trash scattered around because obviously someone cleans it up but random empty beverage bottles, tissues, etc can be found in corners, in the elevators or in the parking lot.
Really on only one knock on Cube smart and thats just accessibility needs to be extended passed 7:00. its really too early to be closing for storage facility. Some people are just getting home from work and having to travel and get there in time is a strain. Clean,but you have to surrender your ID just to use a cart,no garbage cans around the area, cant even throw a candy wrapper away.
We used this location for several years (until we finally got storage space in our apartment building) and had consistently great experiences. The place is clean and well run, but most important the staff was ALWAYS super accommodating and pleasant -- every one.Only complaint is occasionally having to wait for a cart at busy times. They need a few more of them (but I suspect they might have a problem keeping up with carts that roll away from the premises).I wont miss schlepping stuff back and forth in my little Honda Civic, but I sure will miss the folks that run the facility.
I went to the stirage on april 16 2p21 at 5pm one woman and a man so rude. The woman was upset. EcUsei forgot my pin aftetr 8 months was my second time at this place at 6;20 the guy told me that he will put the ekevator out of service and i will be locked at the building. This place is great with super friendly staff and good manager on duty always to help out. (sorry dont remember the ladies name) . I been with this location for years now and never a issue and the staff and management when i needed a rental due to my mothers illness and illegal eviction on short notice they was there to help us quickly. Never treated us bad and never ever had a issue with any staff but was treated with the highest customer service and help on what i needed from packing materials, locks, and even comfort i was in pain and suffering at that moment with my mom brain surgeries she had daily for over a year. Prior to signing agreement i did try other places but was not treated good and some places were very rude as to “ take it and pay or dont and leave sir, were busy and others to help” its sad but it was a lesson for me and my wife and one reason to this day we are still members of this location and always feel like the team here is wonderful and helpful always even to offer me a cup of coffee or ask how my mom is doing.Thank you again and thank you to the entire staff for always keep maintaince in this location clean, drama free and always a smile when a customer walks in.yours trulyChristina Shin & Konstantinos Lavidas.
Got a call from cube smart today and In regards to a payment for my unit and I was confused as to how it didnt go thru, but I was helped by a lady named Tyasia Brown,(I had to get her name)Who was extremely patient with me and walked me through all the options to get my payment back in order, via website or the new app. I opted for the new app - which is a little glitchy but its new as Tyasia Brown informed about.My payment went through and now Im a happy camper.
This is my favorite facility. Ive been a loyal customer for over 2 years now, and credit my positive experiences to Michelle Charles and her exceptional staff. I was saddened to learn today that Michelle will be transferring to another location! Please do not let this happen. We love her at this location, and do not want to see her leave.
For the monthly price they should have had someone assist me with the cart and pulling it and helping put things in the storage unit on top. I had to do it with a baby and it was difficult. It doesnt take anything to be considerate and helpful. Your customer service (as described) is not very good. I didnt find the 2 employees friendly. No smiles, no welcome. I said thank you several times without any aknowledgement.
I had the pleasure a few weeks ago to be assisted by one of the best staffs in the self storage business. Specifically, the CubeSmart representatives name was Danny Frost and I wanted to say Thank You for your outstanding customer service through excellent situational awareness. I was having a problem using the elevators to reach my floor due to a technical issue with the access codes. Becoming frustrated, I went to the front desk with a negative disposition, as I thought my trip to storage would be a brief one, but now reaching over 25 minutes. The representative at the desk was inundated with customers, which in turn, exacerbated my frustration. Mr Frost, was clocking out for the evening and looked over at me and asked if I needed help with something. As I told him my situation, he came up with an immediate solution and took it upon himself (already off work at this time) to assist me. This service before self attitude impressed me and was appreciated. If this is any indication of the level of customer service at this location, I will continue to be a happy customer. It depends who is working. Some days I come in and the staff is super friendly and informative and other times I am brushed off and it takes a long time to be helped...the place is very clean and I feel like my belongings are secure. The worst thing about CubeSmart are the hidden fees for payment. I hated that I always had to come to Queens (where I no longer live) to pay for the month otherwise pay over the phone for an additional $3 dollars. Such an inconvenience for your guests.
I’ve Rented A Unit A Lil Over A Year Now. One Year And 4 Months To Ave Exact. Everything Was Fine Until Recently. I Went To Pick Something Up From My Unit And I Was Noticing A Lot Of Mice Droppings All Over On The Floor And All Over My Things. I Had Mostly Bags In My Unit. As I’m Taking Things Out I’m Seeing More And More Mice Droppings. I Then Noticed There Was A Dead Mice On Top Of One Of My Bags. I Told The Front Desk And They Told Me That Maintainace Is Off And I Should Come Back. & That He Can Clean It Out For Me. So I Put Everything Back And Came Back. When I Back I Told Them I Want Another Unit. So I Started To Go Through My Things. The Mice Chewed Threw A lot Of My Bags. Shoes And Other Belongings. Then Opened Another One Of My Bag And Saw ANOTHER Dead Mice In My Bag. Also The Unit Started To Smell Very Bad. I Had A Mattress & Bed Inside The Unit That Led Me To Throw Out Completely Because The Mattress And Bed Had So Many Droppings On It And Smelled Very Bad. I Took Pictures And I Also Told Management. Management Told Me They’re Going To Try To Get Me A Credit. So On Top Of Paying For My Unit Every Month I Lost A lot Of Money By Throwing Out Things That Were Brand New. Very Disappointing.
I arrived there, but there was no explanation about mandatory insurance. When I reserved here online, there was no information about mandatory insurance. I was traveling outside of the country when I reserved here. So, I called this local officewhere I reserved, from outside of the country. I explained that I was traveling outside of the country and I would go to this office directly from the airport on that day. The clerk said that everything would be all right. But, when I arrived there, the clerk told me that there would be mandatory insurance charge every month. I felt cheating the customer. No explanation about that when I reserved andine and when I called there after reservation. I had no way because I brought some baggages to store. If I knew earlier, I could find other company or place. I didnt feel good about this situation. Please be careful and check about insurance charge before you reserve or you go there.
Can I give minus one star? I havent even been to this place and I already have a bad taste in my mouth after dealing with Rosana, the manager. I was given one price over the phone, and since Im not sure of my exact storage needs I made a reservation for two units with a discount by another representative. When unprofessional Rosana called me back she nastily informed me that I could not get this discount no matter what I had been told. I told her fine and thought I was done. Two days later Rosana calls me again to ask me if I was still interested (????). Then we go through the facts again and she tells me not only can I not get the discount if I cancel I wont get the discount for another unit.Bottom line: go someplace else.
I recently moved from Kew Gardens to St Albans and had to put some of my items in this storage facility and upon check-in I immediately noticed that my time here will be great. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They take time to explain everything including the fine print. The Manager Jalani is also very helpful and was reachable even out of the office. I would recommend this location to anyone.
This is a very clean place to store your valuables..the staff is very nice and attentive to your needs... They also have a van to rent for 10$ to help you move, which I thought was really great!!! They have parking spaces available to make your move even easier...If I ever have more things to store I will use this place again...
Moved my stored items out of this place a couple of years ago due to all of the mice & rats running all over the place in this storage facility. Taught me a big lesson when it comes to being more careful & actually checking out a storage facility, before storing my possessions there.

I was rushed by employee and her girlfriend who doesnt even wrk there to unpack my rental , your employee took my money and application for rental and then told mid way of me packing that she has to go and that I would have return the next day ! That was so inappropriate to me . The place wasnt closing for 40mins when they told us we may have to stop bcus their other employees have to shut down the building . I became very upset bcus the next day was Independence Day & I knew u all werent going to be open . She did told me I had to take all my things off the truck at once while she stood there hounding me the whole time, not a great experience
I am always satisfied with the professional service from the 179-36th Street location. The care and attention to detail is why Ive stayed; from the General Manager right down to all of the staff at that location. I dont want to mention names...just in case I forgot one...thank you all and keep up the good work!!!
2 out of 2 is not bad at all. Once again I had a great experience at the Cubesmart on Jamaica Ave. I was lucky enough to receive assistance from David Walters again. I live in Brooklyn but I made it a point to get a second storage at this location because I KNOW I will get everything I need!!!!!!
I am using CubeSmart to store the contents of my apartment during the course of relocation. I am, as Im sure most people are concerned about clean, safe storage facilities that are conveinient yet secure. The space I ended up renting at CubeSmart in Jamaica, Queens was a Godsend. The salesperson Julani was very polite and professional as he helped me check into and secure my reservation while taking the extra steps to make me aware of CubeSmart operating procedures. I am very happy with my choice and encouraged by the level of courtesy and professionalism demonstrated by the staff. This is a great, new modern space that offers great prices and room options.
After calling two times to close an account and being told I would be called back after inspecting the unit, I had to physically go there and of course no one checked the unit. Three girls just sitting there laughing and talking, unkept and unprofessional! I will be complaining to the general manager and corporate office.
Security is needed. I believe there is a hate gang in Jamaica queens ny picking my key hole just to rearrange my storage belongings.Every time I go inside my storage unit there’s something that has been moved around or tainted. They have one camera on each floor so you can see who gets on and off the elevator at that floor but it’s not enough to keep things safe!! Wouldn’t it be better to have 24 hour surveillance cameras or human being security guards walking around the floors to make sure they can observe and report? CCTV survailence? Idk what to do anymore. The perps don’t even have the decency to put my belongings back how they found them. It’s like they want me to make a complaint because they know it won’t be solved.
I have nothing to say , but goods regarding my experience with Cube Smart at 179th ST and Jamaica ave Queens..I reserved on weds night through web sit and first thing in the morning i was already call by a very friendly voice ..i immediately confirmed my locker..Friday i visited the cube Smart to finalize the rental, Only to meet with the same lady which i spoke with on the phone , She showed me the locker and i was in and out of the facility in less than 20 mins...Both ladies (Dazni Gim & Kleilin were extraordinary..Very kind and friendly , They know how to treat there customers..Thanks Again
Michelle was extremely helpful and accommodating to our needs this assistant obtaining the right size unit needed for needs it was a pleasure going to the cube smart Self Storage and found such a clean and accommodating space I definitely would recommend CubeSmart and to seek out Michelle at CubeSmart located at 179 36th Jamaica Avenue was a pleasure having her assistance

2022-06-17The price package was decent compared to other storage places. The employees (I spoke to two different locations in Queens) were very kind and helpful. I needed a cancellation and refund on one location to move to another and they were very kind about it and helped me immediately. The entrance for our unit is very convenient. The facility itself was clean.

2022-01-29This place should notify when they change business hours due to weather, holiday, etc. I messaged Brett who works for customer service to ensure that the place is open by the time I get there, because that day it was snowing. He told me they were open during its normal business hours. But when I got there at 5 pm, it was completely closed. And this actually was not my first time encountering an incident like this.I hope that they can clarify their business hours before they tell their customers so I don’t have to waste my time driving for 20 minutes only to see a closed store.

2022-04-20I have been using CubeSmart for several months now and I am pretty satisfied with this facility. I like the cleanliness and friendliness if the staff. This location seems pretty peaceful and quiet and I feel safe storing my stuff here. I just wish the access hours were longer.

2022-03-20They put a lock on my storage unit for no reason. I call them up and say that it was for no payment/then late payment. I said how is that posible if I have autopay and the money is debit automatically. He then says let me check your account your right, it was a mistake. That probably they got confuse and put it on the wrong storage unit. Imagine my stuff would have been thrown out because of their negligence or better said not doing their job correctly. Horrible customer service as well they want to get an attitude with you when they are wrong.
