CVS in other cities:
I always like to look for merchandise myself since I don’t like to ask questions and also I like to walk between aisles just looking at new products… well yesterday I was in a hurry and the greeter said hello and I asked her where were the oral antiseptic products she sent me to the last aisle in the back of the store where the woman hygiene products were.. well I looked for it myself and it happened to be right behind the place where the greeter was standing… anyways that didn’t bother me much cause she could be a new employee or she misunderstood me.. but what made me real uncomfortable was the cashier.. her attitude was so unpleasant.. she did not say a word at all although I said thank you 3 times.. she looked so miserable and disgusted like she just hated people.. I always say if you are miserable at your job what are you doing to remedy that situation.. but i learned my lesson next time I’ll stick to the self service machines that are more pleasant than the cvs employees.
The line is always super long and they store their medications so that people’s names are visibly showing from behind the counter! This is really upsetting to me as you can imagine people with sensitive prescriptions may not want everyone to see their name. I’ve asked about it twice and each time have been told “they’re working on a better system”
Terrible!!! I ordered some pictures online for same day pick up but never got an email they were ready. So I called and they were like, o they will be ready in 20min, no 40min. So I show up over an hour later, have to wait around 10min for someone to help me, just to be told the printer wasnt working! Why was I ever told they would be ready when the printer wasnt working? So then the manager tells me that he will transfer my order to another store and make sure I get a discount and that never happened! The CVS stores in NYC are a joke and not held to the same standard of service as CVS stores located elsewhere and its frustrating.
Truly an awful pharmacy. They get my order wrong all the time (I’ve been sent home with someone else prescription before). The service is awful and I’ve easily spent over an hour on hold on several occasions. If it wasn’t for my insurance requiring me to use CVS, I would not go to this pharmacy.
This pharmacy is THE WORST. Always a massive line and something is inevitably wrong with my prescription. The staff is usually somewhat nice but it doesnt make up for the hassle. If you have the patience of a saint you should be fine, otherwise choose a different pharmacy if you can.
This is a good store with friendly employees. In this neighborhood, some folks are NEVER satisfied about ANYTHING. If they go in for a candy bar and the store happens to be out of stock, theyll storm home and write a 1 star review. But trust me....this is a friendly store.
The pharmacist hung up the phone me this evening ...1/15/2019. the pharmacist on duty opened my sealed script...which clearly states that...If the seal is broken call pharmacist immediately...So I did . He told me he was not going to take it back...even though he was wrong to break the seal and then sell it to me. :( I tried talking to the female tech on duty...She told me that I was stressing her out and she is pregnant...then she also hang up the phone on me too. What the hell is going on at this location? People take on professions they have no business doing. They were rude and very unprofessional. I also notice that the items they sent to me were from 3 different tracking numbers...so they gathered up leftovers and sent it to me in a ziplock bag..The damn nerve of these people. They do not answer the phone when you call and every week they have a new staff. I will be reporting them to the appropriate government department. :(
The slowest pharmacy on earth. Pharmacy staff is awful. I come in to get tami flu they tell me 10-15 mins I urge them to rush my meds as I have a 103 fever and the flu. Its a public health hazard for me to be in here this long. Especially when I need to be home resting . 25 mins later oh itll just be 10-15 mins Im currently sitting here at the moment 20 mins after I was told 10-15 mins again. I truly hope no one who around me here gets the flu. As we are in one of th worst flu season in recent history. Even if they werent going to have it ready for the the time told to me dont lie to your customer especially one who is so sick I can barely walk. After 50 minutes of waiting I finally have my medication I really hope no one got sick becaus they kept me so long.
Pharmacy is wonderful, all other staff is a little bit lazy and perhaps overworked/undermanaged, the prices here are a bit higher than average, they usually have everything you need. Be careful getting passport pics taken here, staff doesnt really care so your picture will come out wonky with little to no retakes
I dont really care about the other reviews to be honest. The cvs I normally go to forgot to fill a script for me. I called them to notify. They told me when the delivery person came in at 4 they would see if he said i was too far to deliver to and then call me back. If he couldnt do it theyd call my closest cvs and have them fill and deliver. No one called until the next evening at 6! On a friday. (45 mins ago) telling me I dont know who told you that but you need to call yourself. This was the cvs on 1st avenue and 82nd street! I called the cvs on 92nd but they also said I was too far (mind you im on 99th) finally called this cvs and despite being understaffed and their delivery guy gone for the day , several different polite girls worked it out to get my meds delivered tonight since Im out and cant physically go get them myself. I think many experiences are bad because people dont approach them with the correct tone because I approached this situation very politely and in dire need and these girls bent over backwards to get these meds to me with a store staff of 3 people and no delivery man...so regular employees going over above and beyond their jobs duty. I applaud them and feel that more people that have positive experiences with this store should show some solidarity and write their experiences. Great job girls who worked on 9/11/15 @6pm you all should definitely get raises!
Pharmacy is terrible. Prescriptions arent ready, even when you call before coming in. And if you sit there and wait for them to prepare your prescription, (Which is the reason you called in the first place, to not have to wait) they dont notify you that its ready. They will let you sit there forever. As for the store itself, it could be neater.
Horrible service at the pharmacy! Make you wait on one line for 15 minutes to then make you wait on another line for 10 minutes. And then wait for the prescription to be prepared for 15-20minutes. Oh wait...and then to actually pick up another line of 15 minutes. When you go to this pharmacy make sure you go with plenty of time hate HATE HATE THE pharmacy!!
The pharmacy employs children. The kids behind the counter that are playing pharmacist call me to tell me my script is ready. When I come in the next day they dont have it and said they never had it. They send me to drop off counter and the kid finally realizes that they did have the script. It was just never filled. I waited, literally, for 22 minutes while they chat amongst themselves exchanging phone numbers with each other to make play dates.
The pharmacy gets lots of criticism for slow service, but Ive found the staff to always be working diligently and with smiles on their faces. They do their best to service a large customer base, and frustrating encounters can usually be avoided by planning visits during non-peak hours. The myriad of online and cellular-based shopping options offered by CVS make this my #1 choice pharmacy.

2022-07-13This review is specifically about the employee named H___y. (I would put his name here but in fear of retaliation Im just going to put first and last letters, you get the idea) On numerous occasions while Im shopping in this cvs he has approached me and asked me very personal and inappropriate questions. Its gotten so bad that I now travel 10 or more blocks extra just to go to another cvs. Ive had all mine and my families medications switched to another pharmacy. At one point I tried to stand up to him and said that I would report him to which he replied You would have no evidence because I control the cameras, it would be like you were never here. Its really scary to think that theres more than likely other women that hes had this type of interaction with. And its very obvious that cvs hasnt done anything as far as discipline goes. How much longer will this go on?

2022-07-05Hm the pharmacy is good, people are polite, they just seem to be overworked. So things take a bit of time, sometimes. Overall, a very good experience for me, so far.

2021-11-16Adding onto the rest of the reviews on here. This used to be such a top notch CVS and one where you’d look forward regularly going. First off, there is lack of items on the shelves and if they are it’s on different places. Secondly, the quality of management has gone way down since I’ve been here. I only resort to picking up my prescription and leaving to go to the new Target on 86th because of this. Please listen to your customers and make some proactive changes.

2021-06-16I came to pick up a prescription and the pharmacist who helped me was amazing! I didnt get her name (my receipt says Kristen), but we made conversation and she took care of me! One of my prescriptions was expensive and she went above and beyond to see if there were any coupons to help. As she was ringing me up we talked about it again, but that it has helped me in the past so it was definitely needed however much it was. Very friendly and great customer service. Thank you!

2021-12-28I was in the morning because yesterday when I tried to pick up my medicines at the CVS of 72nd Street and Second Avenue, they were not delivering the medicines due to the lack of a pharmacist. Here at the CVS at 1500 avenida lexington, the treatment was kind and the pharmacist treated me very kindly and gave me the medications I required.

2022-01-31Unable to get anyone in the phone. I had to bottles of pills that I could not identify and could not get anyone to take my call to tell me what they were. I changed from Rite Aide to CVS because of new insurance

2021-07-03Some of folks at the pharmacy are just plain rude. This is especially true at drugstore...the pharmacists. Clueless to what good costumer service is. Been going for several years. Time to find an alternative pharmacy where the so called professional staff doesnt treat its costumers like they are less than, talk down to them and provide mediocre service. One would think that a medical professional would be more sensitive to an ill person. Yet, they are dismissive, inpatient and outright disrespectful.

2021-06-03Pathetic manger. Lazy, had me on hold for 40 mins and gave me a disgusting reason for not helping me. Sitting in the hospital trying to send my prescription to CVS because multiple different CVS’s didn’t have the drug I was prescribed by my doctor. I’m sitting in the care room after surgery on my broken tibia calling CVS stores all over the city. Every store except this one is run by a decent human being who politely stated we either have it (dilaudid) send us your prescription but we only have x amount, or they said they don’t have it. Christine W (most likely a fake name) refused to give me this information which could have saved me so much pain and time. Hopefully someone important sees this and let’s the night shift manger at this location on 06/2/2021 to please remove her cold dead heart when she is on shift, she’s supposed to help not hinder people smh.

2020-01-05I always come to this CVS, the employees feel like family since they are always so welcoming. I have never had any problems with the pharmacy or the front store. I had to write a great review because they really do their best at making sure my needs are met. Great team and great managers who pay attention to details. Thumbs up!
