My daughter went there for an appointment. The insurance we have was one they accepted. My daughter paid the co-pay at the time of the visit. They processed the claim incorrectly and due to this the insurance company did not pay the outstanding balance initially. The billing department charged my daughters credit card for the balance which was more than their contracted rate with the company. What makes it even worse is they charged her credit card BEFORE we even received the bill for the balance!!!They charged her $311, when the contracted rate was $92. Typically a doctor office sends you a bill and then you pay, not let’s charge your account and then send a bill. The fun starts when you call and ask to speak to the billing department, the nasty lady who answers the phone always asks who is calling and what is this about. I have never had to explain to a receptionist who I was and why I was calling the billing department. Obviously I’m calling about a billing issue. Just called this morning and no one is working on the billing department today? I have called and attempted to speak with he billing department now on 7 separate occasions. Tomorrow will be my last attempt. After this I will be calling the BBB and attorney general. I cannot stress enough to stay away from this office. I cannot comment on the doctor since my daughter only saw the PA but the doctor has no idea or doesn’t care that her patients are treated like rubbish and that her staff are the most unqualified and ignorant people in the profession. I have never written an online review but this situation and lack of professionalism has forced me too. I’ll be happy to help anyone I can with more detail.
The person who called me to receive my insurance information was incredibly rude and I was essentially forced to cancel my appointment. I would never recommend this doctor due to her rude, impersonal, and unprofessional assistant. If the doctor reads this, get a new assistant!
The only thing I liked about Dr. Fishmans office is Jennifer Ramos. She was a doll.Dr. Fishman says she is an integrative derm. She hardly mentioned vitamins to me. My condition was so weighing on me. I told her about it and how it is recognized now among some dermatologists. She had no curiosity about it. Hardly listened. Rushed me out. My skin was flaking so badly she said put some sunflower oil on it ..it might then look pretty. Hardly any compassion. If you dont understand a skin condition....why not listen and say lets see what we can do or refer me to someone else.NOTHING. Useless visit. People sense when you are not listening.
Worst experience of my life !!!!! When I was in the middle of changing to get ready to see the doctor the male manager walks in without even knocking and starts harassing me about giving him my credit card information. Like okay can you at least give me a minute or ask me that when Im at the front desk giving you my insurance information . This guy litterally just walked in on me so embarrassing and then he started being nasty to me while I was walking out and said Im ripping up your paperwork okay? Like okay go do that and tell the owners of your practice that you chased customers away today . Good job . Litterally mortifying

2022-04-18Dr Fishman has been my doctor for well over 15 years. She is kind, generous and has wonderful bedside manner. Shes just a good person who cares about the concerns of her patients.. Her P.A. Sydney is also fantastic. The call center which is separate operation needs some major customer service training. Hopefully they resolve that situation because if you are new to the practice and have to deal with them, its off putting.

2022-05-23Beware using this Dermatology office! Utterly disgusted with both Dr. Cybele Fishman’s Office & Advance Dermatology. This practice is not in network with United Heathcare. I discovered this after my latest annual check up.I have been a patient of Dr. Cybele Fishman since April of 2018 at which time they were in Network. Since April of 2018, I have received zero communication, by any means, including when I recently went in for my much needed checkup, that they were no longer in Network & that I would have to pay more than my usual copay & in network fees.I have of course received multiple emails asking me to come in, to make appointments for check ups & various other costly treatments.I called the office 3 times asking to speak with either Dr. Fishman or the office Manager. I have received no call back & the office receptionist told me neither person had an email through which I could contact them, which I found exceedingly amusing but that they would absolutely call me back…To top it off, today 5/14/22, I received a collection letter requesting payment for my outstanding bill. I have received no invoice from either Dr. Cybele Fishman’s Office nor Advanced Dermatology the group to which she now belongs either digitally or via regular mail. I did of course continue to get many weekly requests via both email & regular mail to come in for cosmetic work…I have called Advanced Dermatology & they have advised me that they have no record of an invoice for me… That they know people are getting letters from collection agencies for bills that they have never received from Cybele Fishman’s Practice. That all I can do is call the Collection Agency. That they cannot help despite being the name on the top of the collection letter…Since receiving the collection letter, I have found it impossible to get hold of Cybele Fishman’s Office on the phone & they no longer give out their direct phone number. You are simply routed to the Advance Dermatology call center. The Collection Agency said they had no copy of the bill & that I JUST OWED THE MONEY…I have now discovered that Cybele Fishman’s office never sent out a bill, so therefore never processed a claim with my insurance & simply just bumped the cost to a collection agency because it probably was too much trouble to deal with while they got bought out by Advanced Dermatology. This is how this practice treats their patients! If you are an existing patient, I suggest you ask before EVERY appointment that you make, whether their insurance has changed…. and again when you arrive, because they aren’t going to volunteer this information & will deceptively take your money unknown to you. Or, alternatively they will never send you a bill & just send a collection agency after you! Look elsewhere for your skin care!

2021-11-05I’ve been going to see Sydney in the office regularly for my Accutane treatment and had an amazing experience. The office was always flexible if I needed to reschedule and Nina at the front desk is a delight. I definitely recommend.

2021-04-06Don’t ever make the mistake of going in to see Dr Fishman if you are looking for good service. Dr Fishman is a good Dermatalogist, however has a team that does everything to ensure she loses all her patients. The ladies at the front office are incompetent, and her manager James is outright ill mannered and rude. They do not answer phone calls, change appointments last minute, and have no consideration for emergencies when a patient shows up for a confirmed appointment. Just utterly disappointing and a disgrace to NYU medical service.

2019-05-18Dr Fishman is an amazing dermatologist she helped me with all of my concerns I felt very comfortable with her and all of her staff are so welcoming and helpful they sent me my patient forms and verified my insurance before my appointment so I was in and out so fast which was the best I hate to go to a doctors office and you sit there waiting for 2 hours to be seen! I will definitely be coming back to this office and recommending her to everyone I know.

2021-07-22Clinic charged me additional $100 from my credit card, without my knowledge after six month of procedure and after my insurance covers all the bills. When i called, they are not allowing me to talk to the manager and I can only contact him through email. My situation has not been resolved! It is unacceptable!UPDATE: it’s been 2 months and I still don’t have any answers. They emailed me about my review, saying that it was posted before the issue could be resolved. Well, it still hasn’t been. I haven’t heard anything. They don’t call back. All of their email replies are “I’m waiting for the insurance company” etc. If this was an authorized and legit charge there would be a record of what it was for, such as an invoice and receipt. They did NOT provide me with an invoice nor a receipt for the charge. So what did they charge me for? The insurance company has no idea, since they covered all the actual charges. This is fraud, and I will be seeking further action now. Does anyone have any other suggestions?Latest update: After my previous update, I called the office manager James, to check on the status of my refund and he said he would do it. I received my refund 5 days after I spoke with him. My issue has been resolved finally, after 2 months of going back and forth.

2018-10-30Dr Fishman is THE best. I found her about 6 years ago after trying many derms in the city who could not help me overcome adult acne. Not only did Dr. Fishman help to put me on the right regimen (acne gone!), she gave me confidence in the process and proposed several different approaches, giving me the info I needed to make the right decision for me. When it comes to other guidance (anti-aging, etc), Dr. Fishman gave me the right guidance rather than trying to sell me on expensive treatments which I really appreciated. Dr. Fishman is super knowledgeable, has the same training as some of the “celebrity derms” but chooses to focus on really helping patients which I respect. She’s also a really kind and interesting person so I enjoy our annual sessions! My husband sees her too now and thinks she’s top notch! Thank you!!

2018-11-14I am forever thankful to Dr. Fishman for changing my life. To date (and many dermatologists later after I relocated to TX) Dr. Fishman has been the only dermatologist to treat and cure my acne for many years. Unlike any other dermatologist Ive ever seen, Dr. Fishman sat down with me and reviewed my entire life / work / diet history since I was younger and asked questions to get a good idea of the real root of my acne. No other doctor had / has ever taken that time to get to know the big picture of my life in order to properly assess a condition. While I was her patient I was acne free for years during treatment and years afterward. Her staff is also extremely friendly and welcoming. I will be stopping by for an appointment next time I am in NYC. Dr. Fishman is the best dermatologist I know and one I highly recommend to my NYC friends. Thank you again and God bless!

2020-01-28I truly love this office. Dr. Fishman is incredibly compassionate, caring, thorough and is a unique and special doctor. Her PA, Sydney is also incredibly efficient, smart and personable. I can’t speak highly of this practice!
