What a great little trail that we didn’t know about until recently. We parked by the museum area and explored what was there first. Sadly the museum was closed but we still peeked in through the windows and enjoyed the old buildings that stood in front of us. Then we walked up the road past the abandoned building where the trail starts. Right away you can imagine yourself waiting for the boat to come as they built a little covered waiting area. The trail is wide and open and in some sections there was still water. The trail is short but you have to cross the street as it continues. There is some street walking but not a lot of traffic so it’s doable. Then it jumps back into the trail where you’re in another forest. We finished our hike at the end of the street after the power lines and headed back since it was dark and we started late. We will be going back and do more of the D&H canal section.
Very nice quiet place to stay with family and children. Near the Neversing River, I really like the place, but unfortunately the museum is always closed, I have been to this park many times and never got to the museum! And besides, the video that the museum, if they are watching it, is very bad, it seems that it is about to fall apart! It will be very sad if this happens! This is history, it must be preserved for new generations! In general, its good here. All the best😊

2022-03-08Today is a chilly yet beautiful day for a walk. The D & H Canal Park has an easy trail to explore. The path rests next to the old canal and theres a gazebo to sit. There are benches along the trail in case anyone is interested in a picnic. Overall, The D & H Canal Park is a relaxing location.

2020-01-15Difficult to get into - but a forest with taller trees than usual towering pines make for a good walk.

2021-07-15My favorite place to meditate. Peaceful. The canal was better when water filled the canal, however; still a great place to have a short walk, rent out the facility for party or event. Relaxation and beauty filled with natures wonder. Highly recommend for family get togethers
