Da Francesco is a quaint Italian restaurant nestled in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The cuisine is not only mouthwatering and exquisite but served with such tender love and care. The entire staff works together seamlessly to make each guests experience memorable. The resturant is more than a place to eat lunch and dinner, its a home away from home with your favorite cousin. The live entertainment merges the guests together in song, dance, and laughter. Francesco himself may bless you with a performance of one of his favorite melodies.Da Francesco has its own special essence you must experience. Thank me later! 😉
Excellent place to eat with the family. Excellent food, great taste, outstanding service...The server recommended the Bacalao...its being the most smooth and tasty fresh fish I ever had...it’s not tge traditional salty bacalao...it’s a hevently dish. 5 starts for the dish
First time at restaurant, very cordially welcome. Excellent service. I had the crab cakes with lentils for an appetizer, for the main course I have the ravioli with spinach and ricotta cheese. Delicious!! Will definitely dine there again. If youre looking for a place to take someone special to celebrate, or just want to enjoy a wonderful meal consider Da Francesco.💖
Authentic old-school NY Italian. Fair prices, and quick service of tasty food with a decent portion size. Had an Italian beer Id never seen before. Also the decor of the restaurant is really unique. Big open space in the back, and a smaller quieter patio in the front.
I feel really bad but I just didn’t have a great experience here. I’ll start off with the good, the staff was friendly and nice the place did look nice. But that was all. They had a event going on in the main dining area so they had everyone either sit outside or upstairs. No one sat outside as there wasn’t any heaters and it was cold. We sat up stairs which was basically storageattic. There was stuff on the perimeter partially covered in sheets and 3 tables just shoved up there so extra guests. The attic isn’t closed and we heard the party as we ate. It was also really tight since there was boxes and stuff the tables were squished and wasn’t professional. I personally think if they had a private event they should have closed the restaurant because you can hear everything and the music was very loud. It felt like we were in a club or bar. I was with my husband for a date night and couldn’t even hear him speak to me. There was even a point where it got extremely awkward because the party were giving speeches and someone started crying. Professionally these events should be held privately where they don’t disrupt the other guests while eating their meals. The food was okay. It lacked flavor and didn’t really feel authentic to me personally. I love Italian food and while the dishes they had on the menu are indeed made in Italy the flavor profile just wasn’t authentic to me. I’ve had plenty of Italian food and ate in many restaurants and this wasn’t our favorite sadly
My experience there tonight was nothing short of amazing. As soon as we walked in we were greeted twice. We were seated and IMMEDIATELY given the days special . So service was impeccable. We ordered and enjoyed the soft music and smooth atmosphere. The food was amazing and the bill was equal. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to all. Love love the service!!!!
The food was marvelous, the atmosphere made me feel a classic Italian restaurant had moved from the streets of Italy to the streets of Brooklyn. The ribs and mashed potatoes were marvelous! Simple menu that isnt too big but had the perfect variety of food. The drinks were on point where you can actually taste the alcohol. The staff was very kind and made the experience great. I used the Groupon at the first visit with my date, now I think this will be THE Italian restaurant well return to more often w/o using it.
I took my mom here for Mothers Day and she remarked that it was the perfect lunch. The food was amazing, the service was on point despite a packed house, and the atmosphere was lovely. It was a smaller menu than usual due to the holiday so I would love to return to try the full menu. Highly recommend.
Not great. Had a reservation for Valentine’s Day and got seated late. As we were waiting a customer leaving warned us “Dont do it.” We should have taken his advice. As someone who has worked a fair share in hospitality I’m sympathetic to those under duress and in the weeds but this was beyond measure. We had to ask for olive oil four times for stale bread. If it wasn’t already 10pm by the time we got seated we would have walked out. The table next to us sent back both entrees. We were desperately hungry and ate the overly fried calamari and pasta that tasted like it was from a dining hall, but I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. I’m perplexed how it received such a high rating.
The staff was so friendly and hospitable. They gave excellent service. The food was delicious. The dessert in particular was the icing on the cake! Creme brûlée and the ice cream ball was very good. Thank you for a great night! My kids and I really enjoyed our visit. We will be back with more of our family.
We came here for dinner for Valentine’s Day and we were not impressed. I made reservations a month in advance and called to make sure they didn’t have a price fix menu. The guy said no and I checked online the day prior to double check I wasn’t missing anything. The restaurant atmosphere was very nice and everyone was wearing red which was cute. We got the menu and it was a very simplified menu. In addition only the wines had prices on them, that too only prices of bottles. I was worried if it was price fix so asked my waiter and he said they “forgot to put the prices on the menu” but he can tell me them. They really didn’t have many choices but we settled for two dishes. We also made sure to request glasses of wine as opposed to bottles (which were the only prices on the menu). Finally our check came and we saw that were a party gratuity on it. Even though we were only a party of two. Overall we spent way too much for food that was sub-par and we were very disappointed with how the restaurant was trying to fool us.
I was in the mood for some salmon. There is no salmon on the menu but they accomadate my craving and it hit the spot perfectly. While waiting for the food always made sure I was comfortable and if I wanted anything to drink. Always happy to go there and never disappointed
Terrible service. Had to ask multiple times for a menu, for water, and for bread. Servers came and go asking the same questions but nobody would actually bring anything. 30 minutes after seating and not even the order had been taken. Subpar food too. Lentil soup was not a soup, it was dry, broccoli rabe on the branzino tasted weird, and pappardelle with octopus was sour. For two bad appetizers, two terrible mains and one glass of a cheap chianti the bill was 110 dollars. Oh, and the check took so long to arrive we had to stand up and walk to the exit to get it. The cherry on top was a couple who arrived 25 minutes after us and got drinks and food before us because they knew the owner or manager. Zero stars if I could.
When we just arrived we really liked the atmosphere. It was surprisingly quite for a New York restaurant and we could even hear each other with my husband. But then the live music started. It was very loud. The lady was ok, but the guy’s singing was terrible. The food was not very good. We had three specials: sardines, veal chop and tagliatelle with octopus. Besides sardines, we didn’t like the rest.
My favorite restaurant in NYC. I have tried many fine restaurants in Manhattan and Brooklyn and this is the best. The food has life and flavor and is consistently good. The atmosphere is calm and romantic. The service is 5 star, especially the waiter from Ecuador. Sorry cannot remember name. Courteous, intelligent and welcoming. 5-stars
Found Da Francesco on Seated and decided to book. We ordered the burrata appetizer, penne vodka, and penne with eggplant. Everything was delicious. When returning in the future, we could definitely order the penne vodka again and try other dishes. We also ordered a bottle of wine. Tasty food and wine for a very reasonable price! The service and staff were great. The interior was very pretty and was a lovely environment. We will be returning!
The food is not bad, but actually has nothing to do with italian food. If you have ever been to italy, you will know what I am talking about. I ordered truffle risotto, where the truffels were some kind of morel or some other mushroom but certainly no truffel. 18$ for that is quite lofty. The calamari I had before were not bad, but tasted just like out of any chinese restaurant in chinatown. So the food was not bad, but far from being authentic italian and for that far overpriced.
Great AUTHENTIC Italian restaurant! Everything is fresh and delicious. The decor is beautiful and original, the mood is perfect for a romantic date or even just grabbing a drink and a bite with friends. Its a hidden gem in Williamsburg but caters equally to the Old Timers and New Comers. It is never overflowing with hipsters and it hasnt given in to the fad that is the hipster eateries as of late. Its a MUST TRY (I recommend the gnocchi).
A family owned Neapolitan place in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Featuring Northern and Southern Italian delicacies at affordable pricing and full bar including wine selection for every palette. Great for a romantic night out, dinner with friends, or just a drink at their beautiful hand carved wooden antique bar.
Da Francesco catered for two events amd my clients loved it! As a pescatarian I enjoyed the branzino, calamari, tuna steak, spinach and salads! My clients couldnt believe that this was Italian food because it tasted so good! I ordered baked clams Penne alla Vodka, shrimp with linguine, crab cakes lamb! Ive only had the food for catering but I can only imagine that having the food in the restaurant would be just as good! I gladly give Da Francescos five stars!
I went here on a Saturday early evening and sat at the bar with one other person. We got a bottle of wine for $25 and a rectangular flatbread-ish pizza for $8. Those two together are a great deal for the price, and before they came we were given very good brick oven bread with a bitter broccoli rabe/olive oil puree dip that was awesome. So if you stop in with another person you can get a substantial snack and half a bottle of wine each for in the vicinity of $20 per person incl. tax & tip. Sweet deal. I ordered a pasta after that which was pretty good, it was gnocchi with brussels sprouts and some other items. I would recommend the pastas, but mainly the reason I am giving this place four stars is due to the aforementioned snack+wine value. The pizza was actually just okay. Atmosphere is that of a warm, dimly lit Italian restaurant, which was pleasant in the cold weather.
The atmosphere is perfect for everything from a brunch with friends to a romantic evening out with that special someone. As a matter of fact, I met my now husband at La Piazzetta and we continue to celebrate everything from birthdays to anniversaries to holidays such as NYE and Halloween there! The food is superb and you will often see the chef, Francesco, and the owner, Carlo, stopping by the tables to say hello. Its a must see in Williamsburg!
Chicken parmesan was not on the menu and when I took a bite into it I was disgusted no seasoning on the chicken it taste disgusting my daughter had french fries and chicken fingers and it taste like the fries was cooked in old oil she didnt even want nothing else , best thing about it was the drinks I ordered but I didnt come here for drinks I came to eat and have drinks, plus I couldnt hear because it was so loud from people having a bridal shower it was extremely loud ,, it was my first and last time there ..

2021-12-06The service was great although the food was hit or miss on some dishes. Calamari was great but the flounder was not very flavorful. The chicken was very good, the penne vodka was nothing special but still good. The tomato gnocchi was well liked. Tiramisu was also nothing special with the crème bulee being not very good!

2022-03-15The branzino fish is WOW! Never lets me down. It’s seasoned and prepared perfectly without comprising the taste or texture. Same for the veggies and potatoes. The resturant itself is pretty, calming, unique. Complete transition from the busy street outside - once inside it’s a serene relaxing setting. The dessert is yummy too! My pic is a take out order will update when I dine in. Take a look at that pretty fish! The staff is lovely and polite

2022-06-08Bread was stale. Dead bug on the menu. We ordered two skirt steaks and they were super chewy, overdone and not seasoned. The Branzino had no flavor. Food was just no good. The place was so hot and they didn’t have the AC on.

2019-12-17I wanted old Italy. A friend directed me to a friend, who he promised would give me that experience. When I walked in with him, everyone lined up to kiss his hand and pay their respects. Okay, this is exactly what I was looking for. The interior was amazing, and the staff was overwhelmingly friendly. I figured my guide had some influence on that, but still I felt as though I was family in here. Sampled some amazing spirits, and it wasnt until months later I found out who I was hanging out with. Google is an amazing thing. With that being said, I didnt get clipped, and I truly enjoyed the ambiance of Da Francesco. Definitely worth the stop to sample what old Italian America was like years ago.

2022-01-31Had the pistachio crusted flounder with spinach and it was very good although a second side wouldve been more appropriate. My girlfriend however had the tuna steak and I had a chance to try it, i must say it was a bit dry but the glaze was finger-licking good. Very nice ambiance and friendly staff.
