I’ve ordered two large snake plants and I’m not happy with what I’ve received. First of all, I ordered the one with the yellow edged leaves but received a mix of green leaves and yellow edged leaves (20% yellow, 80% green). Furthermore the quality of the plants isn’t great. Quiet a lot of the leaves have holes in them and some are dried out. After reaching out to customer service they said that it’s normal for the leave variety to be mixed. When I said that this is not what I’ve expected and it doesn’t say that on the website they just stopped responding instead of helping me out.Unfortunately the plants are pretty heavy so I can’t simply return them so I wanted to share my experience with others to warn them. Other plant providers offer better quality plants, with one variety per pot (not mixed!) at a similar or even lower price.
This has to be the best plant nursery in the city! My friend told me about this place and we stopped by when we were in Chinatown. They have so many varieties of plants at a very cheap price! I ended up buying a lot of plants back home that day lol. They also have modern looking planters for cheap, and theyll pot it for you if you want to buy it with a plant.
This is the most marvelous Manhattan plant shop that I have ever had the pleasure of stepping foot into I must say. There is a giant selection of house plants, cacti, tropical, succulents, and really awesome selection of pottery decor. This is a must go-to if you want to bohemify your new loft or apartment. They also have cut flowers, plants just in their grow-pots, and also beautiful pre-arranged creations. I was throughly impressed with the very aesthetic set up.This a Chinatown gem. Please support them and buy a couple dozen plants from them.
The entire experience was wonderful. The store is nicely organized and has a great selection of items for really really good prices!!The owner was super nice and helpful, she made sure we chose the healthiest plants and they were delivered just a few hours later.Would definitely recommend check it out!!
03/26/2021 Update:My calathea came with rampant aphids :(. Im stingy with turning the heat on during winters, so the calatheas struggling with humidity is on me (its been 2 weeks at the tail end of winter with spring transition). But my winder-sill planter was doing 100000% fine with no issues of pests till I brought in the plant I got from Dahing :(—————————My go-to place in Manhattan to look for succulents and house plants. They have a medium-high turnover rate with things like succulents during this pandemic lol. Im one of those people behind it--I really got into channeling constructive energy into plant love. They usually have the beautiful & maybe highly sought-after zebra pearl plant in a mini pot. Rosette succulents. Small pots of mini pilea, Swiss cheese plants, mini monstera, hanging pots of dangling plant strands like string of pearls. Xerographica sometimes. If you see something you like, get it. It probably wont be there for long.Good variety, good pricing. Strongly recommend coming here.
Ive previously bought plants from their physical storefront. Large variety and fairly priced. I decided to order online since I didnt want to trek all the way to LES and commute with a ton of plants. Super impressed so far. They texted me a few minutes before delivery and sent me another text when it was dropped off. Highly recommended!
This store offers a variety of common house plants at various sizes, as well as a selection of modern ceramic pots and glass vases. The plants all seem very healthy at a glance, and prices are affordable, especially for NYC. So far, Ive only bought a 4 zz plant here for $10 (a bit overpriced if you ask me, but zzs seem to be in high demand lately), so Im basing my experience on that. Other reviews mention struggles with pests, so keep an eye out for that if youre looking to buy a bigger plant.
Went in today with my parents and had a wonderful experience. They were so kind and helpful! Held onto the plants we purchased for us while we went to do other shopping then potted the plants and brought them out to our car. Also one of the pots we purchased didnt come with a base but when we went to pick it up they had found a base that matched free of charge. Will be coming here from now on and bringing friends and family!
There is a good variety of plants and I really want to love this place. But every plant I got from here was infested with pests. There are spider mites on the Philodendron Brandi and mealybugs on the monstera adasonii. I called them and voiced my concerns but it was like they didn’t even care. Remember to isolate your plant when purchasing especially with Da Hing. I’m honestly disappointed because I thought I found my go to nursery.
This place is the hidden GEM of plant shops in NYC. From the corner it just looks like a convenience store, but inside they have a HUGE selection of very well maintained plants and extremely helpful employees. To top it off, all of their prices from plants to pots are so reasonable. It’s worth the trek from any neighborhood. 5 stars ⭐️!!!
I love this shop! some of the best prices i’ve seen in nyc and online, and while their stock constantly changes for harder-to-find plants, they always have a generous amount of your basic houseplants in a few sizes. i’ve bought so many plants here, my favorites being a little cacti, pinstripe calathea, marble pothos, and two rarer philodendrons. all plants had zero bug issues and adjusted beautifully. everyone there is so sweet, and the two women are very knowledgeable with identifying plants and helping pick out planters. sometimes i stop in and walk around for a quick mood booster lol, highly highly recommend!
I used the Dahing on-line site, for delivery in NJ. I ordered this palm pictured, and the experience on-site all the way through to delivery was wonderful! Plant came watered, beautiful and lush! I just popped into my planter but plan to re-plant soon. The quality of the plant is great, the price is competitive and the ease of this purchase definitely deserves 5 stars. I love the texting customer service option and updates.
Great prices. I got my peace lily for just 5 dollars! And all plants are in great shape. And they have modern pots of all sizes that are also great bargains. This store doesnt hold your hand when it comes to plant and gardening knowledge. This place is more for people who already know a few things about plants and gardening who wants a good, solid deal.
Great selection, but they don’t do a good job of potting larger plants. Got a fiddle leaf fig that died of root rot within 2 months. Turns out the drainage holes were completely blocked from inside by a crumpled piece of plastic wedged under the soil (??). Similar issues with a monstera and a climbing pothos I got here: too-dense soil, poor/blocked drainage, lack of drainage holes completely, etc. Great place for small shelf plants but if you pick up anything bigger, be prepared to repot it yourself (and strew dirt all around your apartment in the process).
THE BEST plant shop in NYC hands down. Unique selection, friendly & helpful staff, and most of all, fantastic prices. Ive bought over 20 plants from them in various sizes and all of them have been thriving. I will continue to buy plants from them for the foreseeable future.Note to management: your prices are what make you the best in NYC! Please keep them low!
Went here today for the first time on a whim as I passed by the area. The store is beautiful and there are so many different types of unique plants. The owners of the store are super friendly and help you with any questions. The plants are so healthy and really reasonably priced! I have been looking for succulents and all the places Ive been to had these puny looking itty bitty ones for super expensive. I found the same plants that look all cute and healthy for literally less than half the price at other florists/plant shops. I LOVE this place and am going back tomorrow to get more plants. What a great little gem of a place!
I am completely enamored with this plant shop. They have an excellent variety of absolutely gorgeous plants, it’s a local shop, an organized and easy to navigate website and efficient delivery. They even called to confirm that the day would work for delivery and included a mini hand sanitizer with the order. I am through the roof excited and this is my forever plant shop.
Very reasonably priced plants! I got a monstera that was overgrowing its 7” planter for just $18, which is much cheaper than I’ve seen other places. They have a huge variety of indoor and outdoor plants of all sizes. Randomly they did not have any philodendrons (similar to a pothos but different) or aloe. Also a great place to buy ceramic pots. I bought a very deep 10” pot (for another plant) for $25, which again is much cheaper than most stores or even amazon. I also bought two smaller pots (4” and 6”) for $5 and $10 each.Soil however is on the more expensive side — when I was there they were only selling organic soil (which is great) but cost around $6 for a small bag.
Im so disappointed. I had heard of this store in a local group and was excited to stop by. I ended up getting a very common scindapsus pictus argyraeus. I went to repot the plant and its just a BUNCH of leaf cuttings with barely any roots. Some had no roots at all, and others had only a small root of about an inch long. Im not very positive on how well the plant will do, but wouldnt be surprised if it didnt. In general, the plant selection was fine. Quite common plants, with a few surprises, like philo pink princesses, micans and philo brandi. I wouldnt trust the shop with purchasing rare plants though, especially if theyll end up a bunch of cuttings with barely any roots
Bought peace lily twice after I accidently killed 3-year old IKEA peace lily. The first one started turning yellow after one months and it just gradually died from there. A year later and just a few months ago, I bought another one and it seems to follow the same path. Well, fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me -- wont be buying any plants from here.
Good prices & a great variety of houseplants. The customer service isnt great, especially if you need plant advice, and youll wait for a while for the cashier to decide to ring up your selections, but its worth it! The plants are very healthy & guaranteed to be bug-free.
What a gem of a plant store. Ive purchased 6 plants from this place at various times over the years and they are all still healthy and beautiful. They have a great selection of plants and pots all very reasonably priced, which is often hard to find these days in the city.
Update 12/22/2020: holy smokes they raised their prices by A LOT. Things that were $25 a month ago are now $35, things that were $14 are now $25. I know times are rough but 😳. I dont think Im going to be a customer anymore. Its one thing to raise your prices a little, but this is pretty much gouging behavior.---Reasonable to slightly high prices compared to other places, great selection. They must move their plants quickly since there arent grow lights beyond the fluorescent ones. Lots of calatheas/prayer plants to choose from

2022-07-23Stopped by after researching good priced plant stores in NYC, and I was not let down. They have a great collection of plants, including some rarer ones. The rares are normal priced to be expected, but they had some ones I havent been able to find in Philly for affordable prices. As with any plant buying experience, I plan on rinsing down my plant several times, spraying for pests, repotting and adding bonded systemic granules to the soil. Its always about vigilance when youre adding plants to your collection, because no matter where they come from they could have pests. Most of the plants here had new growth and looked great, but as always double check leaves and make sure the plant is pushing out new, good looking leaves. My only downside here was that the plant I bought had just been watered, and fell through the paper bag while I was walking - so I had to carry it by hand for an hour, not a big deal but was a little disappointing even though Im psyched about my new plant.

2022-04-11Bought three plants from here including a full size bird of paradise ($210) that came with broken/black leaves. The plants unfortunately also came with flies and we are now trying to deal with a massive fly infestation in our apartment that weve never gotten from all the other plants weve bought from other stores. Really wanted to love this place but overall very disappointed.

2022-04-30This is a lovely plant shop that you can find a wide variety of plants and flower. Their price is very reasonable and shop owner is super nice. I bought a plant and cute planter and he offered to plant from nurturing pot to planter. I’ll come again and recommend this shop

2022-04-24Bought a $90 schefflera about a month ago and within a week we noticed an abundance of leaves falling, some healthy and some with black spots or completely black. After doing research and trying numerous remedies, and with the issue only increasing, we repotted and discovered poor drainage, super dense soil, and that nearly the entire set of roots had root rot. We had to cut off the affected areas which was nearly all roots. At this point it looks like it wont survive, very disappointed in the quality and care given to the schefflera. Dont waste your money here

2022-08-28Picked up this dragon scale alocacia at $25, loved its size and condition overall. When checking out, I asked shop staff about the grey/white mark on the leaf (as pic shows), I was told it’s “dust”. Nevertheless I have treated it and quarantined this plant from my collection. Suspect it is early signs of spider mites. Really hope it’s not. :-)

2022-05-02Dahing has a large variety of plants for very good prices. You can often find plants at half the price you would see them in other NYC stores. The only down side is that the plants arent the healthiest so its important to closely inspect your plants before you purchase. Overall, great place for cheap plants but you should know what to look for if youre going to buy from Dahing.I havent shopped through their online store but I know its an option for those who dont live in or near NYC.

2022-02-09The mass cane delivered in Feb is already budding in multiple areas on all three of the canes in the plant, The ZZ plant I received in the same delivery Ive already clipped/repotted and is now growing in 3 different pots. 2022-03-25Bought a Fiddle Leaf Fig last week. It arrived next day, so their shipping was accurate. However, it stank of cigarette smoke (still, whatever, fine.) But what really is horrible is that many of the leaves have a thing called powdery mildew (a fungal disease) as seen in the photos and the other leaves have dark spots which show that the plant has root rot.So basically, paid $90 for a dying plant.I reached out to their email address and have received no response. It has been a week. Shop elsewhere!!!

2021-10-12First I gave them 3 stars, now I came to give them 1 for not answering my message, My fiddle leaf fig plant arrived 5 days ago, in very bad condition, at least they should have sent photos to see what one was buying, not show a photo of a healthy plant and deliver one almost dying, all the leaves have brown spots and it shows that it has been badly treated and cut over time to propagate it, I didnt like that the head was cut off and it only has growth on the sides from the trunk, I cut some leaves to make it look better, but the more I see it the more I get upset, this plant will lose all its leaves. What a disappointment, I thought I was having a good deal and I was just fooled
