Easily the best sushi spot I’ve been to I. This area. Great sake selection and sushi rolls are very fresh and tasty
Slipped in here for a casual date night and had an amazing experience. Food was incredible and really reasonably priced. Service was phenomenal! Will undoubtedly be back

Amazing food, especially the uni. The wait staff was very nice and we always had full glasses of water.
Just terrible food, udon was absolutely tasteless, Tofu Age was overfried and bland and sushi wasnt great.
Unfortunately we ended up throwing most of our food away in a bin and got almost 60-70% refund from Grubhub.1. The rolls we ordered were too warm and fishy.2. I found a piece of scales in my pickled ginger ( I spit it out ).3. Beef Negimaki roll was over cooked and beef was hard and not hot at all almost cold. Tasted nothing that I needed to add soy sauce in the sauce.4. Tempura ice cream tasted UGH….. so did not eat more than one bite.I am so sorry. I do not go back….
Happy hour 12pm-10pm. Enough said. Maybe slightly pricier than your average sushi spot, but so so worth it. Fresh fish, good quality. Awesome cocktails. Go here.

They seem to think that informing their patrons that they will not be able to eat is not allowed, they would prefer to have people wait hours. Waited for for no reason. Was awful. Staff are insanely rude, avoid at all costs.

2022-09-13Wow! What an amazing lunch. Cost around $40. Udon noddle lunch came w 3 California pieces, salad, soup, and rice. Three sushi platter came w six rolls each, rice, and salad. The spicy tuna had amazing flavor. The wasabi was smooth, which is a way Ive never described wasabi, but it was tasty! Highly recommend!

2022-02-04Dai Hachi Sushi is more creative and succulent than most other sushi restaurants out there! We were impressed by their stellar service and you feel right at home when you engage with their staff in both Manhattan and Long Island City locations. The Pepper Tuna Sashimi, Yellowtail Jalapeño Appetizer and Deep Fried Green Tea Tempura Ice Cream stand out but everything is so delicious here!

2022-04-09Definitely a solid lunch place, especially if you work in the area. I highly recommend lunch specials located in the back of the menu.I ordered the Yaki Udon lunch box which was very filling. The food thing about the lunch boxes here is that it contains just the right amount of food. I didnt have to stumble back to the office feeling sleepy 😆The service was fantastic and very attentive. You cant go wrong at Dai Hachi.

2022-07-16This was my go to spot for years for its quality so I’m familiar with the prices through the years. It’s good quality and I understand inflation but the prices have vastly increased to where it’s non-sensible $9 for a tuna / avo roll and fried tofu that would cost $5 is $8. It’s unfortunate I won’t be able to be a customer

2022-06-13High quality delicious sushi! Thoroughly impressed with the food & the service was excellent.Friend got a katsu chicken bento box and I got the B dinner roll combo. It was SO good, even had big chunks of avocado.Booked a last minute reso and got a booth outside (which was covered by a hut roof).Server was attentive and always there to clear tables, fill water and serve food/get bill. 5/5 well deserved stars. Would highly recommend!

2022-06-28I was excited to try this place based on the positive reviews and the proximity to my apartment, needless to say I was very disappointed. I got take out and and the sushi didn’t seem fresh. It also fell apart while eating it, so I’m assuming the skills of whoever was working this evening are worse than mine. Also, extremely overpriced. I chalk this one up to a loss.
