This is the absolute best diner over ever been too, and I’m a truck driver so I’ve been to a lot!! The staff treat you like family, the line cook is hilarious and hun and his father run the place. The food is amazing and always made quickly and the prices are absolutely amazing!!! This place has become a near daily part of our day with my girlfriend and I. If you havnt been here, go, you won’t regret it.
I would have given 5 stars and I never give many places 5 stars unless they deserve it. But this was my 1st visit and unfortunately we couldnt rat inside but the food was better than any diner Ive been to in my hometown and made well. I love the old-school look and the mom and pop feel! With so many places being huge corprate owners Id rather go to any mom and pop shop anyway its always better quality and these folks seem to take the time to make it properly! Keep up the great work and hopefully next time through Ill be able to sit in and eat!
Dannys is a fantastic dinner with excellent food. The service is quick and attentive even when busy and there is never a long wait. Their breakfast menu is especially good but I have yet to have an unsatisfying meal whatever I order. Highly recommend if you want something good that is authentic.
Loved the look, the food, however, was terrible. My son had a juicy pork sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy... The pork was hard, even though it was covered in gravy. I had open ribeye and fries. It had more fat than meat and was rubber! I finally got a piece cut and it literally flew across the table, it was laying on 2pcs of almost burnt toast that had to be microwaved because it was also difficult to cut. We both had the cole slaw .. you dont have to chew it, with the exception of the pineapple bits, because its completely ground. And yes, I did say pineapple! The waitress is VERY nice but wears her mask under her chin and her dirty fingernails definitely do not make the food any more appealing. $25, with tip, was NOT worth the experience... But you could tell the regulars loved the place!!
I have a great memory coming here with my my yougest son( also named Danny) years ago; then my sweetheart of 15 years BD. The breakfasts are off the hook! that was my favorite. I also had lunch and dinner there too. I love the food;very very good. I will be coming here for years more!
My group stopped in for a quick bite. The restaurant is small and cant accommodate large groups together. Typical menu for a diner with specials posted on the board. It can fill out quickly. It is right off the road and easily located with a parking structure. Food quality and portion was good.
Economically viable. Good food as well. Usually the wait is less that 5 min from ordering. Coffee is free. I havent been to a better place for breakfast (based on value for money principle). I eat here almost everyday. They accept credit and debit card. Every time they get my order right. Will definitely suggest it to anyone for break fast. Usually crowded. Service is pretty quick. All their daily specials are cheap. The chef knows how to perfectly scramble the eggs. Home fries could sometimes be a little burnt. But that happens rarely.
I had the meatlovers omelette with rye toast and home fries. Omelette and toast was fantastic but home fries were mushy. My wife had French toast, bacon and home fries. French toast and bacon were fantastic but home fries mushy too. Stafr was friendly and place was clean. If you afraid of covid you might want to stay away waitresses wear their masks around their neck. First restaurant that I have gone to during covid rules that doesnt follow.
Good Food but the waitress named Pam the short lady with the glasses is the unfriendliest person I have seen ever(i think she is burnt out for working here for many years, she needs to quit now its about time). This is my 4th time here but every time she is nasty. Will never greet and thank. I think the reviewer before me is talking about her. I went today for breakfast and Marissa was my waitress. She is very nice and smiling and seems friendly. On the other hand, breakfast here is always good :)
A perennial West Side favorite, and its easy to understand why. Dannys is a classic greasy spoon. Simple menu, solid service, and very reasonable prices. You can easily have breakfast here for $10, tax and tip included. Sometimes crowded, especially on Sunday mornings, but you can usually find a seat.
Been there a bunch of times ! Great little stainless steel , many portion sizes to chose from ! Meal , sandwich , and much more ! The staff is great ,friendly ! Landmark in town . I never go back to a place where I have a bad experience, again Ive been there more than I can count !
I have been driving past Danny for years on the was to my moms house. I missed out. I should have know it was great, due to the parade of ministers and church elders that drop in all morning. Danny is a great line cook. Perfect eggs, fluffy pancakes, everything turned right on time. A master at work!
It is a joy to be served by the prompt, friendly, and always smiling staff, and the food is exactly what you would expect, with prices far less. They cook up your standard diner grub, with a few exceptional items like their rare, perfectly creamy sweet potato pie. Win.The feel inside Dannys is pure 1970s diner, with Danny cooking up orders behind a counter lined with mostly older gentlemen, each and every one of who seem to know Danny and the waiters with the familiarity of good friends. I do not know much about any other shift, but the morning crowd is ideal. If you are looking for a solid diner in Bing, Dannys is the spot.
I have been at Dannys twice now since Ive been in Binghamton for 2 years. Its the second diner Ive been to in Broome county. My fiance and I went there for a little date together and the waitress was exactly that she brought the food and left and brought the check. There was no sincere feeling from her. Didnt ask if we needed anything during the time we were there. Didnt ask us if we wanted mode. Coffee or anything else possible on the menu. Brought the check and didnt even say thank you. The waitress didnt state her name and wasnt friendly. I got the feeling from her as she just wanted us to leave immediately brought the check 2 minutes after bringing our food. Didnt welcome/greet us or say thank you for coming and have a nice day which is what comes with being in a diner restaurant. I was a waitress at one point before having children. Customers like when the waitress or waitors make sure customers have anything and everything they may want. They didnt provide napkins for hand/face use. The food was not horrible but Ive most definitely had better. I was pretty upset that it was exactly the same the second time I visited there. The gossip talked trashing people in the Broome County area is just sad. I liked to be welcomed in a place that is suppose to be very welcoming for customer satisfaction. I am paying for it and then to leave a tips for a waitress that didnt even make sure everything was taken care of. She didnt ask how our food was she took our order walked away brought our food walked away brought our check. Walked away. That was the most disrespectful customer services Ive ever had.
Dannys diner is a quaint spot in the middle of beautiful main St! Surrounded by plenty of other places to eat, Dannys diner stands out for its friendly staff, and delicious (and affordable!) Food!! Eggs benedict only served Sunday is a staple!! Definitely stop buy if youre in the area

2021-07-22The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions are big so you wont leave hungry. I love that the home fries have onions! So yummy. However the service was really slow. Keep in mind that it was at no fault of the waitress who was clearly doing the best she could, but the place was packed and she was the only server there.

2022-06-29Danny’s is a local, family friendly, and classic New York diner. The building looks like it might be a renovated trolley car with a 1950’s feel to it. They have tables, booths, and the traditional lunch counter. They have all-day breakfast and a lunch/dinner menu too. The food is awesome and the short-order cook makes everything up perfectly. They take both cash and cards without issue. They also have the old style candy machines that take quarters and also keep lollipops under the counter for the little-little kids.

2022-04-23Two stars since I remember them being okay. Wanted to try them again but they were ridiculously packed, had restrictive seating options (all tables should be first come first serve), and I didnt feel like being packed into the front bar like sardines with everyone else with no space or privacy. Not sure Ill be back. Took my business to The Spot - far roomier there.

2022-05-01Had a very tasty late breakfast, though its available at all hours. Prices are more than fair and portion size is generous, but within reason. Its a small space, but with a big heart.

Everything on the menu was less than $10 and is only 15 minutes from Binghamton university, the staff was very attentive and the food was great, I had egg Benedict special and my daughter had the blueberry pancakes they where delicious. Go there and give them a chance you will go back like me every time I go to see my kid there.

2021-11-13I have been Patron of Dannys Diner for a very long time. The atmosphere is very pleasant. Conversations are bright and cheerful and so are the others who dine and work there. The food is great. My wife and I always say whenever we eat there, we feel like were eating with friends. Some we know and some we do not. Enjoy

2021-12-23Had the chili dog special, which comes with fries. The dog was good; the chili on the dog was exceptional. I remarked when paying that I wished I had ordered the chili! Oh well, this gives me an excuse to stop by next time Im in Binghamton. Adding to the experience, the staff were super friendly and efficient.

2021-06-07The food was delicious and the portions were a nice size. I had the breakfast special: 2 eggs, polish sausage, home fries, toast and coffee. My wife had a large blueberry pancake and a scrambled egg with coffee. Both dishes were very tasty and the total bill was only $11.02 with the tax. The waitress and cook were both very friendly and attentive. Well be back.
