Best place in town for all of your auto needs. Tires, repairs & towing services. AAA top shop awarded many years in a row. Dan and his staff truly care about you and your vehicles. Extremely knowledgeable mechanics along with all the right tools to do the job right the first time. Many other places send their stuff to Dans when they cant figure out the issue with what they are working on so that alone tells ya something.
Car broke down on thruway far from home and this auto garage was highly recommended ......the staff and employees were courteous and professional and gave me car details every step of the way.....they turned a stressful situation into a calmer experience......Kristy in sales and service was always reachable and kept in close contact throughout the process and gave out much needed information so I could make the necessary decisions on how to proceed with my automotive repairs.....I would definitely recommend this service center to friends and family, whether from the area or to those traveling who need maintenance or detail on their vehicle. I usually have a distrust of new mechanics and auto centers if Im not familiar with them, but upon walking into Dans Tire and Auto Service Center, I felt welcomed right away and saw the attention to detail the employees had with the customers and the vehicles inside the service center and knew I was in safe and trusting hands. It was a pleasurable experience dealing with kind and knowledgeable employees who had my best interests at heart.
Let’s be clear. Our car sounds better than when it went in. But how can each of several visits cost more than a thousand and we be here??? As a medium income family, we have tried them several times and there is just always something off about it. Today we got hassled over a coupon THEY sent us for $20 for a 2k sale because we also are triple a. We are punished because they affiliate with AAA? Any place that fights over a 20 they gave isn’t worth my business. And as I said to them I know they don’t need us and this won’t impact them. But as well, we don’t need them. They were convenient. Bummer. We’re only two families worth of cars but if we avoid even one car from getting this then we’ve done our job. All for a $20. Sheesh.
Dan and his staff saved our road trip from ending before it started! We had come from Toronto the night before, and that morning our tire pressure sensor was indicating extremely low pressure on one tire - brand new truck and tires also! Made it into Dans and they immediately got to work, ordered us a tire from their distributor and had the delivery truck rerouted to go there first just for us. Even recommended a great place for breakfast while we killed the 2 hour or so wait. By the time we got back, the tire arrived, was put on the rim, balanced and road tested. We were saved and I cant thank Dan and his team enough for their professionalism, courtesy and kindness. The price was right too! They even took and provided pics of the screw in the tire wall and included it with my paperwork so that I could come back to Canada and get reimbursed on my tire warranty, which, thanks to them, I just have been! Cant recommend enough. Thanks guys!
I’ll try keep this short and sweet.Jesse was extremely helpful in towing me off the thruway. The woman at the front desk was very nice as well! Was originally told one price for the diagnostic check and then ended up being more than twice the original amount. Spoke to Dan since I wasn’t happy about that. I told him “as a business owner, I would honor a price that one of my representatives quoted a customer, and eat the difference in cost.” Customer service and leaving a customer happy is much more important than making an extra $40.On top of it all, Dan’s price was 3 times the amount that I ended up paying for the repair. Very expensive, unprofessional decision on the owners behalf. Having raving fans as customers should be the goal of any business owner.
I had gotten a flat this morning and called AAA; they sent Jesse to remove my flat and to put my spare on. He arrive quickly, and was very pleasant and personable. After placing the spare on he gave me a run down on how to drive safely with my spare and showed me how to tighten the bolts in case I had to keep it on for a few days. He was a pleasure to talk to with while he worked and did an amazing job!! Thank you so much for your help! :)
While on vacation this week in New York we were unfortunate to get a flat tire on I-90. Just as we finished changing the tire. we were fortunate as Jesse from Dans Tire & Auto Service arrived to see if we needed any assistance. Not only did he give us useful information he escorted us right to the auto shop. The customer service was excellent. The cost of the new tire plus installation was only $110. The Receptionist was friendly and efficient Extra shout out to Jesse! You are a credit to your profession. I highly recommend Dans Tire & Auto Service. Thanks again Arnie & Catrion Gallagher
Dan’s Tire & Auto was just what I needed when my car broke down in the middle of snowstorm during my cross-country drive. They were friendly and knowledgeable and even helped me find a good hotel to stay in at a discounted rate while they ordered the parts I needed. Everyone from the tow truck driver to the mechanics to the owner was courteous and helpful. If you are ever in the area, definitely go to Dan’s!!
Dans Tire & Auto in Batavia, NY made a stressful road trip much less painful. With 10 hours still remaining on our road trip, we got a flat tire in Batavia. Their service was the contracted AAA company, and they showed up earlier than the AAA estimate gave us. Jesse, the driver that came to our car, was extremely helpful, and while he wasnt able to repair our flat since we had already driven on it a bit, he put the spare on, got us to his shop, got a new tire on, aligned, spare filled and back in car, and we were out of there in less than an hour. Entire stoppage from the flat to leaving town was 2 hours, much shorter than I would have anticipated for a full tire exchange. Thanks Jesse for your help and getting us taken care of so quickly, and sending us off safely to our destination.
The service I received at Dans was one of the best experiences that I have had at an auto shop. Long story short, was traveling back to Canada from West Virginia and ran over something on the highway. I lost all power steering fluid, but was able to make it to a local hotel. After searching online, Dans Tire and Auto seemed to be the best fit. The next morning, I couldnt get the car to the auto shop. I called them and Jim was more than accommodating in getting the car towed (which they have their own towing fleet) to their shop. Upon arrival, they got the car in quickly and accessed the damage. As it became an insurance claim, the wait was longer than expected given it was with a Canadian company. Jim offered me breakfast and coffee. All said and done, they drove me to rental company and worked with my insurance on getting the car back. Great service and great people made this bad experience a little less tragic.
I and my vehicle were brought together here as if fate fell upon, and my vehicle, or la voiture fatale, had been in a state of full suspense for weeks due to the very + very complicated situation before the end of affairs. Two facilities were involved in: Dan’s Tire Auto in Batavia, and, Metro Recyclers in Valparaiso, Indiana. Batavia & Valparaiso.... Those names already suggest something of unusual. How much am I allowed to write here whatever I like, by the way? Right now, if posted, this is being read by no one but only by Rich Clark. I met two others. Jesse is a tow truck operator, he was a knight in tow truck for me. Steve is someone very + very special because he was so considerate and helpful. Rich is a person capable of handling any kind of situation, literally any, and I am almost considering him be my mentor in mind for the world full of the unpredictable. In short, the vehicle was repaired at this great place. (To Rich; no reply is expected)
My family and I were driving and we blew a tire. I had called about 9 different auto shops before I found Dans. We are not from Batavia so receiving such amazing service so quickly was amazing. Dan and his crew had a new tire on our car within the hour. Definitely would recommend for any auto need!
Wanted to fix a truck that sat for a year,Went to Dans to drop keys off as they said they will pick it up.Almost 2 weeks later I had picked up keys as they didnt come get vehicle.I replaced a alternator n put a new battery myself as I couldnt go any further I called and they picked it up same day.He claimed to look at my vehicle for 2 hours charged $250 in labor without even fixing one thing along with 50$For tow that was 5 houses down from his shop. Then Dan called to explain the bill.Quoted me 1,760So I told him to tow it back for another 50$ but 2 days later vehicle still didnt come back so we called and was told he had put tires which I did not ask or tell him to do I just wanted my vehicle back to my house.Long story short didnt get taxed on tow there but got taxed for coming back home payed a total of 446$ for basically nothing just tires to be put on that I had purchased. Not to mention my battery was working when they got it. returned it to me dead. With window down.Never going here again was a total rip off!!!
Jesse Repass was an amazing person to help us out when we ran out of gas on the interstate late at night. He took very good care of us, was very personable, made us feel safe, and made us feel that we were in good hands. If we lived in the area, we would always give Jesse a call at Dans Tire and Auto if we needed something!
I had a great experience at Dans. Fast service, everyone was courteous and respectful. They never tried to up-sell other products to me. Dan the owner worked directly with me, and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. I won’t hesitate to bring my vehicle back for future work.
Dan checked out a used car for me prior to my purchase of it. He was completely thorough and extremely professional. He even picked up the car from the dealer for me and drove it back to them. He emailed me a full report of his findings, noting one of the things I noticed myself during the test drive. I highly recommend Dan and his Auto Service Center if you want an honest mechanic in the Batavia area!
Went in originally because thats where AAA sent me - stayed because of the great service and knowledgeable staff... Dan is great - talks about options, explains what you need vs. what you could have, and describes everything in laymans detail. Everyone who works there is professional and polite and exceedingly helpful. Theres a comfortable waiting area, they are true to appointment and wait times, and prices are reasonable - particularly considering the level of service.
I would actually give this place a -5 star rating. Heres my story. I was camping at darien Lake campground when my truck was in dire straights and needed an axle replacement. I was due to check out of the campground in 2 days and needed my truck to tow my camper and drive back the 500 miles to RI.Dan knew my situation and totally tried to take advantage of the situation. He took a whole day to finally look at my truck and then told me it would cost $4K -5K to replace the axle with a used axle and to top it off the axle wasnt going to arrive until the following week.I immediately called the closest Nissan dealership, which was Mike Barney in Buffalo. They were able to take my truck that day and replace it with a new axle within 4 hours for a total cost of $2K. Thats more that half the price. Not to mention they were able to let me get back to my vacation without worry.Dan was arrogant and of no help to someone in a desperate situation. Would not recommend this repair shop to my worst enemy.
My car broke down on my way to Buffalo and Dan’s couldn’t have been more helpful. Not only did they tell me what was wrong but they connected me with someone who would be interested in buying my car since it was too old for me to put in a new transmission. Friendly, courteous, accommodating and above all professional. Highly recommend!!
I had dropped my car off because I had my transmission was having issues. They had told me that I need a new transmission and my transmission fluid was burnt. They did not explain any more besides purchasing options. I had dropped my car off on a Monday late evening I was told it would be put on the computer either by Tuesday by close. Tuesday came I was told it wasnt placed on the computer. Wednesday they were closed due to the holiday. Thursday I had called in the morning and I was told it just went in. I had called my fionce hours later to inform him he was told it was not looked at yet when he called after I had called earlier that day. I had called after I got off the phone with my fionce that is when Dans gave me the basic information quoted me over 2thousand dollars to replace the transmission. That is when I talked to my family on what to do and they had me take it to another location which was significantly cheaper and they specialized in transmission replacement. I had called earlier and spoke with the receptionist and told her Im going to take it to another location. When I showed up transfer my car I told the receptionist what my keys looked like. She had gone through the work orders and my I didnt see my keys in the work orders that she had set by the desk. She had then went into the back I assumed that she was going to inform Dan I was there for my car. She came back out and went though the work orders for my keys. She then went back to cleaning. After some time Im still standing there at the counter. Dan comes out not knowing why I am there. I informed him that I am here to transfer my car. He had no clue of the situation. So he then told me he had to get my work order because no one informed him I was coming. I finally got my car after 20-25 minutes of waiting at the counter and $141 dollars later to just hook my car up to the computer.
Blew a hub Berring while traveling from Buffalo NY to Long Island...on my 2007 Chevy Silverado...stranded I had no other option but to get it fixed and was charged $1000 to replace hub assembly...rotor...caliper and brakes...and was told high end parts were used...1 month and 650 miles later...replaced berring is destroyed and my truck is back in shop....if you have other options in the area use them...highly disappointed
My experience was great at first. The guy picked us up from the Thruway took us to the shop and repaired my tire. But On our way thru the thruway we realized he did not tighten the lugs and I had a hour drive back home. Mind you its 10pm on I-90 I could have lost my life. Being such a simple task as tightening lugs on a tire I feel the job was terrible and unprofessional. I hate to give bad reviews but My siblings and I could have been killed for a senseless act of not doing your job properly.
It was quick, which is why they get two stars instead of one. My brakes went and the parts were $120, tax was $80, and labor was $500! Thats garbage on how much they wanted for labor, and the brakes werent even stiff like they used to be before they went. We had to go back in order for them to fix it and make it feel like my brakes werent going to immediately go on me again within a day.
I had found an old Chevy Beretta for my mom and I was transporting it from Pittsburgh to Nashua. I was spending Friday night in Batavia and 30 miles before I got there it overheated. Found out it was the fan and made it to Batavia in the afternoon cruising the car and stopping at all mechanics in Main St. No one could or seem to want to help meout to fix it on Saturday. Found out about Dans Tire and Auto Service through a guy at Auto Parts Place. I went there early Saturday morning running out of hope someone would help me. Dan did! He was a little hesitant at first which I understood given the time constraints and the car beingbut I asked him to try as I had no choice. They only work half a day on Saturday but he called me telling me it was the fan motor and he could get it done for what I thought was a fair price. Im so grateful for helping us in what could have been a bad situation. The least I can do is express my gratitude though a review! Thanks Dan and God Bless!
I had my yearly inspection, as well as an oil change done here this past week. They have a great waiting room (free wifi, large tv, etc.) Their customer service is great. They made sure to answer all my questions and went over the important details of my inspection. They offer several deals/packages that can save you money and things like a free oil change. You can tell the management/owner appreciates the business and makes an effort to get you to come back. I know that I will be :)
Our son was driving cross-county doing a research project for his senior thesis at university. Before he left we had a problem with the intended Honda CR-V he was supposed to take and he had to take our other CR-V with much higher miles. Near Leroy, NY, he was losing power and the CR-V would not rev over 2,500 RPM in gear. He nursed the CR-V into Batavia, NY where we booked him a hotel for the night and I started calling around to auto repair shops. All shops were busy, but I liked the way Dans Tire and Auto Service offered to squeeze in the CR-V, they are also AAA rated. I traveled down from Vermont to bring the suspected parts - V-TEC solenoid, catalytic converter, spark plugs, etc. After attempting to replace the V-TEC solenoid (OBD-2 code P2646) ourselves in a parking lot @ 84°F, we called Dans again who was still busy but said they could spare an hour to have their automotive technician install the solenoid. The solenoid did the trick and only one hour of labor charged on a hot engine, our son was back on the road to complete his work and I returned home to Vermont. Dans is the type of garage you hope you break down next to or near. Thanks again for your help and service.
Updating my 1 star review since 2 years ago. I have used Dans tires for a couple repairs on short notice when dealers were not available and prefer not to use franchise mechanics like Monroe etc. While I felt it was pricey you get what you pay for. That are also located close to Batavias shopping district so are are other things to do while waiting for your car but they also have a nice waiting area. Other than getting robo-called from their auto dialer about specials - ( and thank you for taking me off your automated dialer after asking three times) is was a positive experience and would consider doing business with them again.
Brought my Project truck in for an alignment, as it is a Dually, and I was having trouble finding a local shop that could fit it on their alignment rack. They found some issues with steering components, and worked with me to save some money, and be able to get the truck properly aligned, and ever got it done in record time so I had a way home from work.
My girlfriend hit a curb in JC Penneys parking lot and ruptured the sidewall of her tire. I stopped in at Dans and a young gentlemen helped us immediately! We got a replacement tire installed in about an hour. Service was great. My girlfriend had our 2 year old daughter and 8 year old son in the car and was a sizzling 90 plus degrees outside. Hard to find service like Dans!
I had a flat tire on the Thruway last night and Dans couldnt have been any better. We waited less than fifteen minutes before the driver showed up and he had us out of there in no time. The man plugged the tire for us and showed me how to do everything as he was fixing it. I was so thankful!
We were traveling back to Canada late Sunday afternoon and blew our front tire. Our tow truck driver Jesse not only changed the tire to a spare for us but as it was unsafe for us to drive back to Canada on the spare contacted Dans Tire who came down to the closed shop and opened up for us enabling us to continue safety on our way. Above and beyond. Thanks
This was the only Towing service we could find that would tell our car off the highway on Friday evening after 6 PM! Not only did they try to get it fixed over the weekend but they also provided a ride to the hotel. If you are in this area and need a tow I highly recommend them
I was quoted $75 for a tire change on the NYS thruway. When these guys showed up they charged me $120, if I didn’t pay the difference they would tow my car and hold it until i paid for both the tire change and towing service. Taking advantage of people in an unfortunate situation is bad business.
This is the 2nd time Dans Auto has claimed a bogus explanation for an auto service. In the past Ive had a bad experience, and this time its my mom. (she only had her car serviced by Dans Tire only because AAA goes through this terrible business)1. She received a new car battery w/ a warranty.2. The new battery died shortly after.3. She used her warranty to jump the vehicle.4. Come to find out, the car never needed a battery; it was the alternator. 5. This was told by a BETTER business in: Batavia Automotive.Well, the battery died again - 2nd time. After being jumped again my mom took the vehicle back to where the battery was from; Dans Tire & Auto, to be serviced. They charged her $37 dollars to charge the brand new battery. Why you may ask? Because computers [plural] use the battery even when the car is turned off.Anyways, the girl at the front desk, chomping her gum, with a nasty look, told me to talk to Dan. Well whos Dan? -> Found Dan -> Dan reiterated the same BS.So, if this were true, apparently new vehicles sitting at dealerships are excluded from this reasoning? Did any mechanic explain/CHECK what was drawing power? NO. But Batavia Automotive is going to. :)If youre reading this review - please avoid going here at all costs. There are numerous mechanics in Batavia, like Mavis Tire, Dunn Tire. Even Wal*Mart is better for the love of God. Ill be making this same review on all platforms & media including the Better Business Bureau. Were fortunate it was only $37 bucks, but at least have a reason for your services, explain the reasoning, and be more thorough. Avoid the this minga business at all costs.
What happened to me at this center is simply a big fraud . They charged me for replacing the starter of my car around $ 700 . Since my car was not able to work and I was in middle of my rode trip , I decided to fix it anyway . However after few weeks , my car had the same issue and I took it to the dealer . They informed me that the starter I replaced earlier was from the worst brand in the world and its price less than $50 . Also , the dealer told me , they can replace it with an original brand for only $400 with life time warranty !!! Try to avoid this place . They are a big liar and I do not know how many times they do and they will these frauds with other people ! They basically stole from me around $500 !

While travelling from Toronto to Batavia for my daughters soccer showcase , my car broke down …Fortunately it happen 2 minutes away from Dan’sShop!I first dealt with Rich who went out of his way to not only fix my car , but showed exceptional professionalism in updating me as I waited and keeping me calm!I then had Jesse and Chris work on the car non stop till they were able to get it back on the road.I recommend this shop for various reasons :Efficiency, quality, professionalism, customer serviceAnd enjoyed seeing the teamwork between themAppreciate it guysRecommended you to all the other soccer parentsSonia Marques-VieiraToronto, Canada
They are affiliated with AAA and provided me with roadside assistance when it appeared I had flat tires due to low air pressure. They were very kind, came out in freezing temperatures. They were quick, professional I would recommend them highly. If my memory is correct they have provided roadside assistance to me on a couple of occasions over the years. Thank you For keeping me safe on the road!
Broke down in Batavia on a family vacation and Dans Tire & Auto was the only shop that could check our car that day. Even though their schedule was full Rich called me an hour after they closed to let me know they were still diagnosing the issue. We were back up and running and on our way safely home the next day.
Dans Tire and Auto Service has always been very helpful to our entire family. Years ago they helped to make my fathers dream of going for a blimp ride in Pompano FL. Recently my brother was involved in an accident and I think they were so helpful with all of the details pertaining to that. My husband has a company car for some years and they always kept up with all our needs.
Have to tell you about the greatest experience ever I recieved. Went on family vacation to batavia new york and our new used truck broke down. Chris and Jesse jumped to the task even after closing time. They diagnosed our issue of it being locked in 4 wheel drive set up the computer and reset the 4 wheel drive. If I lived here would always come to them. Thank you guys for jumping to the task and keeping our family safe. You will never know how much we appreciate you.
Great service.Took us in on a last minute appointment never been more greatful
Would leave 0 stars if possible, buyer beware! Do your due diligence , talk to many customers and get as many opinions as possible , check court filings (with any repair shop) and get EVERYTHING in writing. My experience was a true nightmare, now I am going to the licensing agent with what I have.
Fast work and very reasonable. Crew knows what theyre doing and are trained very well. Customer service is very respectable.
Just relocated to the area and this place was convenient. Had oil change and tire rotation and was charged juzt shy 90 bucks. Thought it was a little expensive but the convenience was worth it. After picking my car up I received a call from them that where they parked my car after a test drive they found a large puddle of oil. Ends up the oil filter was not installed correctly. With some hesitation I decided to try them again. I told them I just wanted an oil change no tire rotation and made a 10 am appointment. I dropped my car off at 9:30. I mentioned to them an engine was on and was told its 125 dollars to diagnose. I have a repair shop background and know most places will connect the computer to get a fault code for free. Told them never mind. Around 11 am I called to get a status and was told it hadnt even been pulled into the shop yet. An hour after my appoint???!!!. Will never use them again and definitely couldnt recommend them to anybody with a clear conscience. Funny part is if they treated me right they would have gotten to make necessary repairs along with a set of tires and front end alignment. Apparently they have enough business that they dont need new customers. My recommendation is stay away and I speak this with 42 years in the repair business.
I never write reviews, but they really went above and beyond to turn my stressful experience into something shockingly pleasant. My alternator died late Friday, and I was towed to Dans after they had already closed. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful, and they really took the time to explain everything to me. The prices are more than fair, and they finished the job early on Saturday. They also could have easily told me I needed a new battery as well, and instead, they were honest and only sold me what I needed.
