Went with my family last weekend and had an absolute blast. It was also a partial birthday trip for my wifes bday which is actually on Halloween 🎃. Appreciate the work put in. Will be returning in the future.
This place was great. We went on a Thursday night the week before halloween and only waited about 10 minutes. It was expensive, but done really well. Everything on long island is expensive. I was genuinely scared and my cousin and fiance had a blast. Wish there were 2 more haunted homes to make it worth 50pp!
The actors and props are good but $70 between me and my wife for about a 10-12 minute walk seems pricey but that’s LI for you
I’ve lived in wading river for years and always drive by but never went. Finally went for the first time tonight and I screamed for 30 mins straight. Definitely recommend! Great job.
Awesome place! Well worth the trip and rate. Most haunted houses arent really scary at all. This one is very well organized, efficient, and super scary! I highly recommend attending along with paying the extra 10$ per person for the fast pass. The whole experience was a few minutes long and worth every second! Thanks again for a valuable experience!

I do not like scary but this was so much fun with my husband and 2 other couples. The characters are great and from what I remember look great too in their costumes. A definite recommend.
Absolutely amazing !!!!! The detail that went into putting this haunted house together was incredible. A little pricey but its only once a year so I say its worth it specially when the experience is a great one. It was just enough spooky where the fun is still there. Would definitely do it again. Highly highly recommended
Very upset with how they are selling tickets currently. Need 4 or more people to go, so my husband and I can’t just go together. Makes absolutely no sense! Total rip off and money hungry! Will be looking in to other haunted houses that don’t have this ridiculous rule.
This is a great place! We bought our tickets online and upon arrival theres parking, portable bathrooms and screams. The house is a converted barn. I wont go into other details so to not ruin the surprise. Youll have to wait outside on line so dress accordingly. The line goes quickly enough, but you can buy a fast pass. The scenery and actors are tremendous and I definitely recommend this place. We had a great time and well be back next year!! We loved it 🧟♀️
Went here and gateways playhouse on the same night. Gateways is nice but this was much scarier. I felt they had enough actors when i went. I went on a Saturday night maybe the other reviewer went on a day there was less actors? So many jump scares! Great make-up! Had me screaming so much! I would definitely go again. This is 100% worth the drive! And they had Moes coupons which was a plus +

Where to begin Ive lost track of how many times Ive come here. Far and beyond one of my favorite haunts. The attention to the most minor of details is amazing. While it is sad to see a few items missing this year with everything going on it is completely understandable and cant wait for them to be back at full power. Thank you for making things somewhat more normal and very convenient with the time slots one of the best run houses we have been to this season in terms of timings and everything.
It was scary but the place has mud all over the place you would think that a rich farm oriented town could afford some grass, completely ruined my shoes and my car has to be washed now especially the tires the attraction is haunted house material but it’s to short for the moneys worth will not go to the middle of no where to this attraction again unless they add some fertilizer and lower their prices
I love it. Especially with people who get scared easily and the “tough” one with you. The actor are really professional and stayed in scene even when I was asking them for Starbucks. I really recommend it if you are in a group. One recommendation is that in the elevator people should go through the vents or something like that. Another recommendation is that under tables someone can pop out or a psycho chases you. Other than that it was the best haunted house I have been in.
Best haunted house on LI this year! The actors were spot on and the scenery is top notch. Expensive and about a half hour walk, but worth it.
Needed more actors. Actors were chit-chatting with us. Moved us along too fast to take in the scenes of each area
Fun experience location is pretty far but a great place sadly the scares are quite predictable and eventually it is easy to guess where they will pop out from.

Dark side was absolutely amazing. By far the best Haunt yet for me and my family ever! And we have done ALOT. Great atmosphere, actors were on point and dedicated! Great props and animatronics. Will be doing again next year for sure. Already recommended to our friends and family!
Highly recommend! Definitely go there! All the actors and graphics were on point! What was there that they weren’t missing? Not only that, I felt very safe with all the COVID protocols they were taking!
Best haunted house I have been too, way better than Schmitts and much scarier. Very well acted set pieces amazing. Get there early because the line gets very long very fast. Truly an enjoyable and fun place.
The Darkside Haunted house was one of the most extravagant over the top experiences of my entire life. I kid you not, I’m going to have nightmares for years. I’m going to tell my kids kids kids about my dark side experience. 10/10 on the fear factor scale and 10/10 in my heart. I love all of the hard work from everyone involved!
I love coming here! Never been so scared in my life! Brought my friend with me this year and it was so much fun! Great actors and props! My favorite was the hologram room!
Okay so I had not been to Darkside Haunted House in about ten years. They did such a thoroughly good job of scaring the bejesus out of me as a teen that I swore off all haunted houses afterwards. Well I finally went back tonight and it was a BLAST! I was extremely hesitant to walk through, my anxiety at all time high just at the thought of the scares that awaited me, but after every scream and jump I was laughing and having a great time. Obviously that might not be everyone’s reaction but the experience is so immersive and the actors and crew are so dedicated and thoroughly enjoying themselves it’s hard not to get caught up in that joy. I think most reviewers have covered how well decorated and planned out the haunt is but I’d also like to add that I also felt immensely safe and respected. I can’t believe I waited ten years to go back and can’t wait to see what Halloween 2019 has in store for this awesomely horrifying attraction!!
This was totally awesome! Me and my buddy pretended that we were rescue officers going in there to rescue a family that got kidnapped by the halloween creatures! 😂However, there was only 1 part I didnt like about this experience. It was this very dark room that comes after the funeral one (Its this one with the robotic body in the coffin) in this room its so dark and a lot of flashing lights (My eyes were hurting so badly! lol!) and you had to move a lot of hanging mats to find your way out. I had to beg my buddy to hold on to him so we dont get lost before I nearly had a panic attack.Overall this was totally lit! We are totally going back next year!
Literally scared my girlfriend out of her sneakers last night 😭😭😭😭. The decor and actors were top notch. Ive been to plenty of haunted house around the NY/NJ area and this place is by far right there with the best of them. Cant wait to see what they have planned for next year
This company sold us tickets for Sunday, November 1st. When we arrived the business was closed and a big sign said Open Sept. 30th - Oct. 31stIt is not enough that we traveled two hours back and forth to visit this place I also had to run after my money. Talk about dark side....In contrary of what this company is claiming I havent received any emails from them regarding the cancellation, and they did not refund the money to me. I had to dispute the money through my bank. The disinformation in their response is not true.

Best on long island they really put the time and effort to make the experience one to remember. Best experience. And with the whole covid situation they were very organized and attention to detail your time was not rushed. Awesome place
Much better than gateway longer, better costumes and jump scares. 20 minute wait even though it was crowded theyre very efficient and the men in top hats working at the gates make the wait enjoyable. Best on Long Island
This was the best haunted attraction I’ve ever been too. I was scared the time we started to the finish. Worth the time and the money! Definitely recommend and would come again!!
Didnt make it inside. Waited online for an hour and only moved 10 feet in line. At 10:30 we still had about 30 more feet to go before reaching the gate. At that rate they would of closed at 12:30 and we most likely wouldnt of even made it to the actual entrance. I also signed up for their newsletter to be emailed a coupon as it states on their website. I received an email notifying me that I am now signed up to receive the newsletter but there was no coupon. Disapointed to say the least. Going to Blood Manor at Nassau Colisium tomorrow.
Definitely one of the more detailed haunted houses on Long Island. My friends and I have been going here for years and are never disappointed. Love this place!
The people are awesome the workers really cater to each group, not rushed GREAT production. I seriously have to wonder where they keep all the stuff in the off season. Will for sure be back. Thanks for a good ride.
Every year this place gets better and better. New attractions and scares. The sceneries are constantly evolving. Highly recommend this place. For best possible experience, go with a small group between 4 - 6 people.
Ive been to both Darkside and Gateway playhouse in bellport. Both had similar themes and designs but Gateway playhouse was much better, much longer and much better laid out. $25 for twenty minutes at Darkside is a rip off. Gateway lasted almost a full hour to go thru and was just much more enjoyable.
It was worth the trip from queens. Staff was very professional and the haunt experience was amazing
Nice costumes good actors but it was to short and wasn’t that scary. Unless your with a good group of people that scream at everything. Had fun though lol.
It was pretty scary. Not worth the drive though. If you live close by, definitely go try it out.

It was more comedic to me than anything, the only fright i felt was the first room when the first trap door popped open, then i expected the same thing in each attraction, so it took away fro tje allure of it all.

20 years of inexperience. Not enough ghouls for staff to scare you. And the electronics are out dated. Plus you have to walk around on a muddy dirt trail
Love this place Ive been coming here for the past few years for opening night and it has never disappointed me. I go at least twice a year and plan to go back next weekend again.
Everyone was in super acting duty and with high quality costumes. Also they are so polite. Really fun experience.

We got tickets for November 1 and we it was closed we are so angry with this and it says it’s closed for today but they acctully extended it we are very frustrated!!!!!!

2018-10-08Really cool haunted house. A must go to. Worth the trip. Cant talk about details cause it would ruin the suspense.It is about 20 minutes long of just constant sheer terror. Maybe its me since I havent been to a haunted house in over 35 years since the Long Branch Haunted Mansion.Highly recommend! Its worth the trip!My pictures dont even do it justice. Wait till you get inside!Scares the heck out of you!

2021-10-22If you are looking for an awesome haunted house on the island this is your place! Not only is it amazing that this is a family owned and operated location that has been in operation for a total of 24 years, but the staff and actors are awesome! From buying our tickets to going through the attraction the entire process was easy and seamless. They also do a great job at spacing everyone out when going through the attraction so you and your group are lone going through the attraction, which means you WILL be frightened!Amazing time, do not second guess it and go before the season is over!!

2021-10-24I’ve been to many haunted houses, and this one is by far THE BEST I’ve ever been to. It was so well done and creative. The sets and props were incredible! The actors were AMAZING! It was so refreshing to see every actor SO in character. And not just in character, but a fully fleshed (no pun intended) out character. I would totally go back!! Lastly, I loved their Covid precautions- they made sure everyone was masked and distanced, which is really important to me! Thank you Mike and Darkside!

2019-10-28In wanted to give 5 stars but I feel like the drive is ridiculously long for what you get out of the experience. The actors are great but need some work on their scares and it ends too quickly. I went twice in 2 days and the second day their were empty rooms and less scares. It ends too abruptly I feel like they need to make it longer for what they charge and how far the drive is. But overall decent haunt.

2021-10-22100 percent worth it. Always a great experience and I’ve been going to this haunt off and on for over 15 years. It’s gotten better and better. Always a different experience and so well done with great actors and animatronics. Perfect amount of time (around 20 minutes)

2017-10-28The absolute best haunted house experience I have ever had.The costumes and scenes are well thought out and breathtaking.My friend dropped his phone and one of the zombies found and it, and left a few spooky selfies!I 100% recommend. Worth the drive and the wait on line.

2021-10-04Went on October 2nd, 2021. I was very impressed! A lot new for 2021 as last year, I wasn’t impressed at all but this year I really enjoyed it. The actors were professional and polite. The security staff was top notch as an incident occurred and they immediately handled it. The Covid guidelines were strictly followed and you didn’t even need the vaccine to enter. Overall, I think the new upgrades make it definitely worth visiting!

2018-10-21I am a horror anything enthusiast and when I go to haunted houses I dont do it with the purpose of getting scared, because I expect it, i only go to look at the props and set ups. I must say that Ive been to about 9 haunted houses on long island and Darkside haunted house was by far off the charts the best one Ive ever set foot in. I actually got scared!! They not only have amazing props Ive actually never seen anywhere else but they have so many people working that its worth every minute you wait on that line. I highly recommend this haunted house and if i didnt live an hour away I would have most likely visited them again and again. Simply amazing.

2021-10-26Wasn’t worth the 35 at all, brought 6 tickets,? Didnt flinch once, acting was bad, and it was only 10 minutes long, extremely dissatisfied. Didn’t care too much about waiting in line for a while., last name wasnt rey, was casillo, 2 did not show up because they heard it was not scary, yet we gave it a chance. Dont take opinions so personally, everyone is allowed to have theirs.

2021-10-22I really had low expectations about darkside after reading so many mixed reviews, but this place exceeded my expectations 100%. Really enjoyed and had such a fun time last night! Just saying my favorite was Michael Myers lmao!! There were so many cool animatronics and the actors did an amazing job!
