Great ice cream at a very reasonable price. Will definitely stop when in the area again.
Came here for soft serve ice cream after eating dinner out. There were only a couple people ahead of us in line so the service was real quick. The ice cream here is the most smooth and creamy Ice cream Ive had from over 20 different states. The portion sizes were fair relative to the price. The only ding was that although the ice cream is incredibly smooth, it needed more vanilla flavor to make it to a 5 rating. Still, it was a good experience and I would recommend this place. Well be back the next time we stop through Batavia.
I love Daves, we live where there are closer to a few other places...but we drive the extra distance for Dave

I dont buy ice cream on the side of the road often. This time it was a gold mine. Very flavorful and worth the money. I ordered chocolate ice cream hard and soft vanilla with pumpkin. Sorry but God damn they were good! The place was really clean ate outside beautiful day. Staff was very nice and friendly. I drive through again I will be stopping!

One of my most favorite ice cream places around! Some of the best custard I’ve ever had and the service is so quick! There is something for everybody here, even your dogs!! I love all the different options they have!
Its pretty early in the year for ice cream, but Daves seems to be the first to open up and the last to close. Had my first brownie hot fudge sundae and it was great! The employees were really quick and attentive.
Went at 9:05 pm. Dining room was closed though it says it’s supposed to be open until ten minutes before closing (9:20). So we had to sit outside in the cold. Ordered our ice cream- a little over $20. Gave the girl $30. She did not hand me my change. She put all of it in the tip jar. When I said that I wanted it back- she asked me if I was sure I wanted ALL of it back! I said “now I do!” They boarded up the windows at 9:15. Other people had to knock to get served and they acted like it was a huge problem to help them “after hours”. We were not the only ones upset at the service that night. There are many ice cream places in Batavia. And a really awesome new one in LeRoy.We will not return here.
Pretty nice little ice cream place. Had a little car and music show going on and I watched (hopefully) the end of a police chase while waiting for my milkshake. Daves Ice Cream takes entertainment SERIOUSLY!

Probably a great place. But I wouldnt know. As the children that work there told us we couldnt order because we arrived at 9:58 and they had already closed the registers. Maybe the owner should stop by 2 minutes before closing and see if the employees turn away people waiting in line.
Very friendly staff and there ice cream selection is pretty good. However if you want sugar free the sugar free soft serve is not very good but the other specialty soft serves there are fairly tasty.
Ice cream is good, the premade take home ice cream sandwiches are good. They keep the place nice, lots of places to sit inside and out, including a nice yard for picnicking with your family.

Good, very friendly service. Prices are about average to others. The ONLY downside is, like nearly every other ice cream place, a MALT is not a milkshake with a heaping teaspoon of Ovaltine. CHOCOLATE MALT should taste nearly like Malted Milk Balls. BUT, as a shake, it was super thick and sweet!😘

I came here after a day at the park with my daughter. While here I received Absolutely wonderful Ice cream, and perfect service. There are so many selections and they are very inexpensive. The only complaint I have is that this place isnt open 24/7/365.Keep up the outstanding work.
Thanks for responding. We have been to a lot of ice cream places around WNY, and were surprised to see how little ice cream we got for the price. Most of the places that serve custard (a more expensive product) we have been to provide a much more substantial serving for the price we were charged at your stand. Again, the product was fine, but the amount-for-the-price ratio was disappointing.

Whenever I drive through Batavia I make sure Daves Ice Cream is on my list of stops. The service is always top notch and the value cant be beat. Ice Cream is my favorite indulgence and this is one of my favorite ice cream stands.
Good prices and good sizes. Get your moneys worth but dont get a mountain tower of ice cream that falls or melts all over you.

They have great ice cream, the problem is they cant get the orders right. We ordered on line they gave us the wrong order. We order in line they gave us the wrong order. We called to ask what happened they didnt even remember that people could order on line. My suggestion is until they open up and you can go inside stay away.

Ice cream is awesome. Staff are super helpful and friendly. Have a walk up and a drive up window or you can go inside. Inside is set up like a 1950s diner. Prices are a bit higher than other ice cream shops. But they do have a great variety of choices including a few doft serve yogurt choices

Ordered 3 items. The sundae was pretty much perfect. The regular size waffle cone had more ice cream on the outside of the cone and falling down the side than there was inside. The banana split was swimming in pineapple juice which was forcing all the ice cream and toppings out of the dish. Had to try and drink all of the pineapple juice from dish before eating to avoid wearing entire thing. My hope for future patrons is its early enough in the season to work all the issues out.
The ice cream tastes good and I love that they have live music some days, but they are so expensive for so little ice cream. Batavia has better places that give you a lot more ice cream for less money

The service was terrible it was not busy there were multiple workers while only 1 was actually working. This person obviously had not been trained. Ordered a cyclone to which I received a cup of icecream with a couple pieces of candy on top, and a milk shake. This whole process took over 15 minutes. To say the least I will not return.

Wish I could put 0 stars $8 for a cone and a blueberry sundae the soft ice cream barely came above the cone and the sundae had 1 scoop of ice cream and the blueberry topping at the bottom of the bowl not to mention asked for a waffle bowl and didn’t get that either the server acted new but didn’t ask for any help! Not going back again!!!
They make your cone and take money using the same gloves and don’t change them for the next customer. Disgusting and likely a health code violation.Edit to add that the gloved hand absolutely did touch my food. I was not given a napkin. If the disgusting glove had not touched my food I wouldnt have been upset and taken the time to write this review.
Good icecream, tiny servings. Two scoops of ice cream should come up to the top of the cone. Looked like it was served with a melon-baller. Clean and well maintained. Poorly trained teen staff with no customer service or communication skills.
They have decent sized ice cream cones and they are reasonably priced. If you play Pokemon Go this is a cool summer hangout because it is a pokestop. They have flavors of the day which change everyday.
Nice little place, tons of selections for soft serve flavors. They also have tons of selections for everything. Young girls were basically running the place 20 and under for sure, they all were doing a great job. I like that they have a little staition for free water too so you dont have to ask for water. Definitely recommend. (Better then blondies on the other side of batavia)
I was very disappointed .we ordered banana splits that cost almost 13.00. I got a small spoonful of pineapple, the nuts were extra and it had 4 little slices of banana on it. Its called a banana split because you split the banana in half. Way to little for the money. The service was very good.
This ice cream/custard stand has been open for years and has offered consistent quality. No, the chocolate and vanilla are nothing special, but the cones are fairly large and flavorful. We always look forward to its opening in March. If you are looking for ice cream/custard and you are in Batavia, Daves will not disappoint you.

Went there Thursday 4/2/20 to he out of house and treat kids... we arrived at 8:30 pm and the sign said open until 9 pm... there were 2 cars ahead of us and all 3 cars were refused service cause the workers wanted to go home... we live in Leroy and travel there a lot during the summer... very disappointing and will think twice about making the trip as there are others who are closer with obviously better service.....

Sadly, the ice cream is not as good as it used to be. Very dissapointed. I dont mind paying$6 for a vanilla custard on a sugar cone dipped in chocolate....proving Im able to eat it before it falls apart into my lap.

2022-06-26My fiance and I stopped here for the first time. We both got Boston milkshakes which were large and decently priced. We really enjoyed them.As for the workers, the young lady that took our order was a little rude. She asked us questions about our order with a snotty voice. I had never ordered a Boston milkshake from anywhere, much less from Daves. She seemed very annoyed that I did not tell her what type of sundae I wanted on top, which I didnt realize was an option I could make. When I asked what sundae options they had, she just rudely pointed to the list. My fiance ordered his with all of the information and she still rudely asked him what flavor of ice cream he wanted. After reading through other reviews, I am not surprised though. We will try a different place next time were in the area.

2022-07-19I ordered a chocolate milkshake, it was perfect. Great blend of milk and shake. The aesthetic & atmosphere was great, and the variety of outdoor seating options was welcomed. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Ill definitely be back, likely a few times.

2022-05-14Read other reviews and youll see that the owners responses are very unprofessional!!! We were refused service because we are people of color who stopped by 10 minutes before closing time. The owners response is that its hard to see through the window at night, even though the location is well lit and there were several other people seated outside eating their ice cream. Perhaps we were too dark to be seen at night for the mixed young lady who refused to open her window, and also for the white young lady to see me when I asked to speak to someone to at the second window. The white ladies sitting nearby were able to see us at night, and were appalled that we were being denied service 10 minutes prior to the 10pm closing time.

2022-07-02Every experience going to Daves is greeted with friendly service from the staff and the large selection of items makes it a great family/pet friendly experience. I recommend this establishment for anyone looking to cool off this summer. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating arrangements.

2022-05-13The nasty attitudes, and overall immaturity I’ve experienced from these girls is the reason why tonight will be the first and last time I patronize Dave’s Ice Cream.The business closes at 10 pm, and arrived to the location at 9:52 pm. I thought I was too late to get ice cream, but saw that they were serving two Caucasian women. However, as the two women sat down, I saw some of the workers make eye contact with our vehicle, before one quickly removed the napkin dispenser from the ledge and shut the window—as if she was on a mission. I was confused and found it strange because they literally just serve two people a min ago!I sped walk to the window, and stood there a bit—before knocking. They had the audacity to act like they didn’t see me! But one finally looked up in annoyance before mouthing “we’re closed.” I was quite taken aback but was disgusted at that point, so I walked away. My mom was also taken aback at this, and preceded to the window—especially after one of the nice ladies said “They aren’t closed! They just served us! They have 10 more mins.”As I watched from the car, their smiles disappeared but they also refused to open the window for my mother. It was only after 4 mins or so, that one girl did but had major attitude—especially from this this mixed chick and one of the blonde skinny one. Seemingly, their night was”ruined” that they had to serve an ice cream cone to me. I am truly disgusted.

2022-04-09I got a chocolate peanut butter shake. The staff there was super friendly and the service was quick; but the shake itself was just okay, didnt seem to have much flavor to it really compared to other places Ive been.

2021-06-16A great old school ice cream place that is hard to find these days! Prices are fair & decent serving sizes. Very nice variety of choices. The ice cream was smooth & velvety. When you order a float they give you the rest of the can of soda that didnt fit in the cup. Its always great to see places like this one still operating! Keep up the great work!
