I have gone to Davids a couple of times for auto repair and an oil change. Ive always been impressed with their pleasant customer service and integrity. I received a text today after the technician told me what was wrong with the car to explain the problem. It even included a picture of the issue! They were busy today, but I felt like they treated everyone there with dignity and respect. No one was rushed out the door so they could help the next person. They were thorough and kind with each customer. Very impressed!
Absolutely phenomenal service!! I could not have asked for a better experience with Dave and his shop!Like usually happens in life, I procrastinated until the last minute and Dave was extremely accomidating to get my truck in and serviced at the last minute.Also, be sure to say hello to Rusty, the shop supervisor.
Dave and his staff are kind and efficient. They always get me in a timely manner. Anna is very polite and very informative about the work that needs to be done. I have known Don Haley for many years, he is the most honest mechanic I have ever met. I am not surprised he would work for Dave. Recently I went for an oil change and met a new staff member, he is very personal and engaging. I would recommend Davids Star Automotive to anyone. Theyve always been very helpful and friendly. They have fair prices as well (at least for what Ive gotten done). The owner personally came to my house around the corner to check out my car with me. Great service and great place!
From the initial phone call to driving the car out, David’s Star Auto showed a level of professionalism most shops fail to reach. The service desk was polite, knowledgeable and patient with me. I only knew what the symptom of the issue was, they were able to diagnose it properly and fix it within a reasonable period. I recommend this business to anyone with a car issue.

David’s Starr was extremely professional and honest in their diagnosis of the problem with my vehicle. Due to the part being a dealer only part, they were not able to make the repair, but this was certainly not their fault. They made an accurate diagnosis of the problem which was still very helpful and I would highly recommend them and will definitely use their service again if ever needed.

I have nothing but good to say about this place. David, the owner is an honest man who does the job without trying to cheat you. He makes sure to provide you with quality service. He also accommodates to your schedule . I refuse to go anywhere else.
Had to get the first work done on my Jeep since I purchased it, and remembered my mom always taking our old chevy venture here. They were friendly and informative, and for the amount of work I ended up needing, I dropped it off after an overnight shift and everything was fixed same day! So glad to have a great local mechanic, AAA discount is pretty nice too!
Ive brought multiple vehicles to this company everything from a Ford, Saab and Volvo. My recent issue with the Volvo was unable to be found by another company and I brought it to Davids Star and they found it almost immediately. Prices are extremely reasonable and the service well exceeds expectations! Great work done - will always continue going to them in the future.

Terrible, triple A brought my car to this shop,And no one told me the diagnosis was going to be 100 dollars.When I finally spoke to them for the first time, they told me to fix my car it was gonna be 750, but after looking online and speaking to other mechanics I could have my car fixed for less than 500So I told them I wanted my car back home and they tried to charge me 100 dollars for diagnosis, that no one spoke to me about. I didnt even tell the shop to touch my car, they did it on their own accord and charged me an amount I didnt agree to.And the guy was rude about it. All he wanted was money from me. Not to genuinely help me.Would never come here or recommend to anyone
Staff is always very professional and friendly. I am always impressed with the work and I trust them with every diagnoses they perform because I know they will be accurate and truthful. That is hard to find today and worth everything. I recommend them highly.Rod
David’s Star auto is a fantastic place to have your vehicle serviced or repaired. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. It is sometimes difficult to find an honest mechanic but there are no worries here! 10/10 would recommend!
Daves is friendly and honest place for auto repairs and Motor cycles. I never have felt over charged or work less that well done. Its nice to have a shop that that cares about its customers. Great place for motor cycle repairs n in and out service inspection for bike.

My mechanic is excellent mr. David does a wonderful job on my car and he never tells me anything that doesnt need to be done. You know like some mechanic so say what you need to have this you need to have that you need to have that and actually you dont need to have all that stuff. Mr. David is the best

Thoughts and Opinions...1) great shop in South Buffalo --> reasonable pricing, AAA member discount, and generally fast turn-around. Theyre very flexible. You can drop your car off, leave your keys in the key-drop, and give them a call the next day to let them know what youre looking for. Always friendly, and they do good work. Not a whole lot more you can ask for.2) response to John Mingles review, from 2 weeks ago --> Ive been trusting Davids Star Auto for about 2 years now. They are absolutely 100% not a womans shop (by John Mingles description of a shop where women or those not familiar with cars are taken advantage of, which is pretty sexist by the way). Im an engineer by trade, and a shade tree mechanic by hobby. Ive designed and serviced industrial machines and control systems for 15 years, wrenched on cars and trucks in the yard for 20. That said, I can tell you this about Davids Star Auto - I trust them, implicitly. Theyve done good work, and I have always gotten what Ive asked for and expected. Ive never had a problem. I send my childrens vehicles there, my mothers vehicles, and my wifes vehicles. Weve got a gambit - from a brand new SUV to 20+ year old pick-up trucks, and everything in between. If the other reviewer had stated that he had a part fail or something like that, I may have believed him - parts fail sometimes - thats just life, and has nothing to do with the shop or the people doing the work. But to go after the character and integrity of a shop thats got an owner who does half the wrenching himself, conducts himself and his business with the highest quality of character and integrity... not a chance. Davids Star Auto - specifically because of David himself - is the kind of shop where if they ever did make a mistake, they would fix it. Not only would they fix it, but they would also tell you, just because thats the right thing to do.

Cheap labor but staff was rude to my wife and they didnt put everything back together on her car after checking things they werent asked to, causing me grief having to check her cabin air filter because they left the access door for it open making excess noise with the blower fan on. Will not be returning.
I brought my car in for service last Friday for cv axle replacement. The axle costs 80.00 anywhere with life time guarantee. They charged me 160.00 for the part. When i went to pick my car up, there was a small puddle. Thought it was just due to work done. But not so. The next morning i drove my car out to the southern tier. Lost all power steering fluid begore springville. Had to turn around. It was obvious that they ceacked piwer steering libe while replacing. Took to them monday morning. They wanted 200.00 to fix their damage. I jacked it up myself and fixed for1.50. Started to drive my car again and noticed there was another leak coming from the transmission seal. Leaking like a siv. After researching I found out this happens when a torch is used. I called david with my concern, he blew me off but was willing to fix seal they broke for only 1500.00. Wil be posting complete video on youtube. When video shows melted seal, I will be suing them. This car never dripped a drop til it went to Davids shop. His shop is a womans shop. Most women have no idea that hes robbing and overcharging. Thank god my wife is smart. He said he couldnt use the axle i had just to double the price for his. Which was a lie.
Needed rear brakes and rotors in a hurry. Dropped vehicle off in the morning they had it done by noon. Friendly staff, great service, a garage run with integrity. THANK YOU.
My 2002 Hyundai was in almost complete disrepair, and after a couple of days the courteous staff had it performing like new! Thank yous to David and the entire Star Auto crew!

2022-04-21I finally found mechanics I can really trust. David’s Star staff are true professionals. They are customer service oriented, reliable, and do great work at a reasonable price. They confirm appointments and even followup with a text to make sure you are pleased with their work. 2022-06-21Very prompt and friendly service with reasonable prices. I had a minor emergency with a warning light that came on and I didnt feel comfortable driving with that condition and they got me in immediately to evaluate what repairs were needed. Great service and didnt try to upsell me anything I didnt need.

2022-02-03Exceptional service at the front office and in the shop. Couldnt be happier with my experience, and will be taking any of my other of my vehicles to be serviced there in the future. Shop rate is on par with the rest of the shops in the area and werent looking to just fix my junker and on to the next. I knew everything wrong with my vehicle and best course of action to take from the get go. Trust you cant buy!!!

2022-06-15We are very unhappy with the service we have received at Davids shop. You may refer to a Better Business Bureau complaint we made on 2/15/2021. We have been going to this shop for quite some time, but due to the dishonesty and unprofessionalism we will no longer return. The fact that we were told by his shop that our battery was bad, and then we are driving around with the same battery 7 months later, speaks volume on professionalism. This is one issue of so many more.

2021-11-09Very poor service. Been driving my car with no issues the past 3 years, take my car to them and there is all these “problems “ with it so they failed me with my inspection. Also had me sitting almost 2 hours just to tell me it failed while smiling like it was funny that I’m not gonna be able to drive my son to school or get to work. Never ever going back there and they just let this nasty cat walk around that looks to have Diseases and dying.

2021-05-28This is a good, honest shop. I have been here, and referred others including my daughter. Any negative reviews here are clearly from people that do not understand cars, or the automotive repair industry. Parts will always cost more at a shop because they are assuming liability if the part fails. This also means they wont be using that super-cheap part from autozone. They want the repair to last and cheap parts fail more often.
