I understand that no matter where you go people will have their own experiences. I used to go to the Pelham location because it was close and had excellent customer service. So when I had to switch I was taken back, I switched to Yonkers location on central Ave and was pleased to see a familiar face in Julie. She is hands down the best customer service person Ive interacted with, friendly, helpful and down to earth. The staff itself is awesome. Sadly we as people like to judge everyone based on a single experience or an unanswered call. Its not fair to them, their was a time I had to wait, but were in different times. Anyway Id recommend this place 100%. Keep up the great work.
I had a bad experience with this location from start to finish. I used to go to their white plains location. Bummed it closed. I scheduled an appointment for a Saturday morning first thing. I show up to the appointment and they tell me the provider is on vacation. They confirmed my number was right. Yet I saw no voicemail or text. The gentleman told me they keeps notes for who they call for cancelled appointment but he didnt have any notes (they didnt call!). I rescheduled. A few weeks later they call me to reschedule. I pick a date and time and she tells me okay just know we have people on vacation on that day. Im by myself. Okay!? I pick out my glasses and Im told Ill get a call when they are ready. No call. I called several times to see of they were ready... no answer. I call and finally get through my glasses were ready. Nobody called. My glasses are fine but I dont have a heavy prescription. I will definitely not be returning to this location.
If I could give a 0 I would!!! I’ve been calling the store for 2 weeks and nobody picks up. I wanted to see if my Rx was still good or if I need to get another exam before looking at glasses. The first time I called at 4:30pm. I was on hold for 40 minutes! I called from another line while I was still on hold only to hear a message that the store is now closed. Called again another day on hold for 25 minutes. No human even ever answers!! Today I called at 4pm (store closes at 5) I was on hold for another half hour. I even pressed the button “if u have an emergency press #” and still nothing. Unless you want to be treated like a blind person getting ignored DO NOT BOTHER WITH THEM! I’m taking my business elsewhere and have no problem paying for a new eye exam bc my time is worth more than hours and hours of frustration.
My appointment was rescheduled 3 time due to no doctor available. had a appt on sep 14 which they rescheduled for Sep 7 then again for October 5 decided to go to pearlevision for my eye exam which i was able to get a appt righ away .decided to get my glass from visionwork due to i have been using them for many year now 15+ year and am very disappointed in quality of product went to pick my glass up after 2 week waiting frame was defective had multiple scratche .manager reorder frame waited another couple day again only to have the same issue scratches on frame when I brought to manage attention his word was I cannot find a frame that is perfect . Very unhappy will be returning. Glass after this probably will go some where else where quality of product is 100% should have just got my glasses from pearlevision wont have had to deal with this issue
When I made my appointment for my eye exam. I specifically asked the woman at the counter is there going to be any out of pocket expenses ? I cant afford any surprises ( I’m on unemployment due to COVID ).. the woman explained to me that my insurance would cover everything.. I said everything ? She said yes no worries. They will cover it all.. so after waiting three weeks I go into the location for my exam when I was told it will cost me fifty dollars out of my pocket.. thankfully the woman at the counter checked before we did anything so I didn’t have to pay for anything.. if the woman did this three weeks ago I would have been financially ready.. so thanks for wasting my time.. and when I reschedule my appointment, it will be with someone else.. and I’ll be sure to tell everyone I know that is looking for an eye exam and glasses to go somewhere else..
The worst of the worst. I honestly thought I had found my optetrician spot, but another disappointment when they reported that my insurance did not cover my exam. It wasnt the response that aggravated me but when, where, and who said it. You see, I have made an appointment online after they wasnt answering the phone (literally the phone kept ringing). When I arrived, they turned me back and rescheduled me because I dis not select a doctor of choice which made no sense because I selected no preference and my original doctor had left the facility (I should of left with her) so choosing one wouldnt male a difference. When I was forced to rescheduled few weeks ago, they contacted me asking me if I could call my insurance to see if I was covered. Remind you, I had already contacted my insurance and they had stated yes that I was. Once I basically told the lady that she should do her job, I did not receive any more phone call so I assumed that the call was done and they discovered that I was covered. Another few weeks went by and my appointment was approaching. The day before my appointment, the lady (Unsure if it was the same one) stated that she was unsure if they took my insurance. She then asked me for my insurance ID which had been already given to them when I went there and they turned me away so I knew something was wrong. The day of my appointment. They got my name and escorted me to the back. If it wasnt the Lord asking me to ask them if they had fixed my insurance issue, I would have paid out of pocket. The doctor was the one delivering the news to me and a customer jumped stating that this had happened to her as well. The worst part was that the doctors excuse was that staff have been leaving left and right and have hired front desk staff who arent sure of their job (My point exactly). Why would you hire unqualified staff when you are running a business and where is the training if you do come accross this issue? Never trusting anything like this ever again. Wasted 2 1/2 months of my life.
Terrible service. I was shopping for new pair of glasses and have done previous research online regarding my insurance benefits and the specialist acted like I shouldnt have done my research. Very rude, poor people services. I walked out after his rude comments. I dont recommend this location.
I’ve been a customer with Davis Visionworks since 2017. I’m glad they are there, it’s my go to place for check-ups, eye wear, and contact lens. It’s kind of like my little secret but I felt I needed to share my experience and so far, it’s been great. I’ve had the same pair of frames for three years and I’m finally going for a switch, I bet they will last just as long and I’m so happy about that.
I was going to let bygones be bygones but the shoddy exam documentation has left me without glasses. Last August I made an appointment for after work. I go in early and leave late so it is so difficult for me to even make appointments. I specifically told the appointment desk at the store that I was a new patient and I needed a new patient exam to include dilating my eyes. I got there on time and again told them new patient with eye dilation. The optometrist took me in and at the end of the exam she then decides to tell me that she cant perform a dilation for 2 reasons. First because she is not the regular optometrist and second because its too late in the day. I was fuming. She said I would need to come back which of course I never did because of my schedule. Next I needed TWO prescriptions. One for distance and a specialized intermediate distance for computer work. Fast forward to last Friday. I lost my intermediate distance glasses and I need a new pair. I go into another Davis Vision after calling to have my prescription faxed over. The intermediate distance prescription is either wrong or not properly documented as per the optometrist at the new Davis Vision so now I also need a whole new exam which, guess what, they could not get me in for and I dont again really have time for. FYI the first time last August I sent an email into the company website to complain and no one bothered to contact me. In frustration I called the Yonkers store asking to make a direct complaint with their manager and was somehow talked into coming back in for them to make it right. After I made the appointment then I later got a call asking if I was paying out of pocket or using insurance. I suppose thats more important than making it right. Long story short again I could not make that appointment due to work and Im still squinting to use the computer screen. I also now know that these are all individual franchises. I cant speak for all locations and last year was my first experience but I can say stay away from this Yonkers location. Shame on the trouble youve caused me.
I have waited for an hour to be seen inspire of having a appointment.I had to go twice to ask how long the wait is. All they asked is if I wanted to reschedule as the person is running late. They need to understand the value of time and that other people have things to do and appointments they have to keep as that is the only day off. They need to tell people in advance that it is going to take them more than an hour to see people; because of this now I missed my other doctors appointment.I would not even rate this one star it is negative star.Davisvision should do a PI project on the wait time for customers as that is the first step to customer service and it fails right there
Dont come here so unprofessional. Their doctor goes away and they dont know that of course their doctor has to go under quarantine when comes back and has to reschedule me a 2nd time cause they cant get their things correct the first time. Oh and expect a cancelation the day before even tho theyre aware of when doctor leaves and come back from vacation. And after quarantine common sense not common at this office but use an excuses of they found out last minute no you didnt. And now double booked cause they cant get their scheduling straight. Avoid this location at all costs. Biggest mistake was closing their white plains location yonkers are unprofessional stay away go anywhere else.
My family and I are long term customers of Visionworks, but this store I seem to always have issues with. This my second unpleasant experience at this location.I called ahead to verify if they price match contact lenses with other sellers they assure me they do as long as I provide them proof, in this case it was Walgreens, so I made my way to store which is 30 minutes away for me, upon arrival I was told I needed to wait because the only person that can help me was out to lunch, I waited patiently while the employees carried on with a personal conversation, mind you the store was empty, finally one of them decided to help me, (which they should had done in the first place instead of making wait so long) only to be told that they cannot price match what I presented them, I ask to speak to the manager was told that he was on a call and cannot attend to me either and that was it there was no apologies, no trying to work with me nothing a total waste of time, left the store angry and guess what I took my business to Walgreens and got the discount that they offered.Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere there tons of stores available that offer better customer service and better prices than this store could ever offer you.Picture of Walgreen offer attached.
This was the first time I went to Davis Visionworks in Yonkers and I was extremely satisfied with their service. Dwayne was very thorough in explaining the different transition lenses and I decided on the Driveware sunglasses for the best protection for my eyes. I also ordered a pair of progressive glasses with HD non-glare lens which I am very happy with. Dwayne assured me when I first walked in that I would have nothing to worry about and would leave there a satisfied customer and he was right. When I went back for an adjustment he knew me by name and took care of me right away.I would certainly recommend Visionworks to others. Dwayne is the BEST!
The Visionworks team is so great and helpful! We went to change a prescription in glasses and to buy contacts and we were met with patience and knowledge by everyone who worked there, especially Mr. Dwayne Scott! Anyone who is looking for a pair of glasses or contacts should definitely go to Visionworks for the best customer service!
Highly recommend this store! The service is amazing! The staff is very attentive, and helpful but I specially recommend Dwayne who made the difference, he was very attentive, thorough and helpful!, has great customer skills, therefore I was completly satisfied with their service. Not only did I ended up getting eyeglasses but also some sunglasses, which I love! all because of his great service!, he is a great asset for Visionworks.
Very Dissatisfied with their serviced I received at this location, they never never notify me when my contact lens order was ready for pickup, they lost my eyeglass frame I picked to purchase, so I purchased my eyeglasses at a different store, and they took approximately five months to receive my first contact lens order. I would never return back to do business at this location again.
Had a 4:00 appointment for an eye exam-waited 35 minutes, then once the exam was done I waited 45 minutes to get someone to order my prescription glasses. The place over books appointments and is understaffed.Didn’t leave the store until 6:00 pm.If you don’t like waiting go somewhere else.
They were able to accomodate my son with a same day appointment. He had a great experience . Staff was very professional, the appointment was quick and easy. He was also able to take advantage of the promotion that was currently being offered. I highly recommend to all. My son could not stop talking about the customer service he received. GOOD JOB!
Had a great experience at Davis Visionworks at 2588 Central Park Ave in Yonkers on 7/24/19. I arrived at 10:30 am for eye exam appointments for my family of 4. Upon arrival we were greeted by the front desk staff and given our forms to fill out and were then immediately taken in to see the optometrist, Dr. David Gailing, OD. Dr. Gailing is GREAT!! He was very friendly, professional and thorough. He answered my questions and even made a recommendation for my husband and son to follow up with an ophthalmology specialist, which he gave me the name, address and phone number for. I was so glad I went to Davis Visionworks at this location and would DEFINITELY return for another visit. The office was spacious, very clean and the front desk staff was very helpful. Thank you Dr. Gailing for taking such great care of us!!! I recommend this location and especially this doctor.
Terrible experience. I had two appointments scheduled and when I arrived the store is closed. I call the local number and no one answers. They never bothered calling me to cancel any appointments. The 1800 customer service is no help either. Last time I go to Visionworks.
No help, Went in as a new patient . told to sit down until called . waited about 40 min . no follow up, decided to ask how much longer , then was told 5 more min. workers chatting up . Then was told I need to make an appt to get an exam. hmmm smh really after almost 50 min later. It was not busy and half the time the workers was just small talking about each other weekend and how drunk they got . It looks like a nice place and all but in todays world its friendly customer service that drives people to buy or do business.
Optician was to concerned with a guy buying 1000 dollar glasses than my family who were waiting before the guy came in the store. He then gave us the excuse that he was giving people there glasses before dealing with us. Guy didnt get the glasses and we were skipped again for another family. Terrible service from a terrible person. I will not be returning to this location and will notify my insurance company as soon as possible.
By far the worst! I ordered my glasses and told I would get it the next day. Nothing! No Email, Text or phone call. When I call the store no answer. Unbelievable!! I will never return to this store. I loved the one in Pelham plaza beside Citibank but, it closed down😞 So disappointed
Tried to call from 12pm to 3pm(the time I arrived) to make an appointment and no answer. Luckily I was in the area, so I went there. There was 1 customer waiting to check out when I arrived. When I spoke with the front desk assistant and asked If their phone was working, she nonchalantly said yes, but its only me here so I dont answer it when its busy. Again... there was only 1 customer checking out and no one being examined or waiting. I asked if it was possible to be seen, she said no, the first avail was in 2 weeks. Meanwhile, the Doctor was right there confirming her next appoint at 4.
The Vision World team is professional and very family oriented. Even after having my glasses for several years, I still can stop by to have them fixed no questions asked. Sandra Martinez always reminds me of the importance of keeping my designer glasses safe and my lens smudge free! I ADORE HER AND THE ENTIRE TEAM
Again have to come and add to my review This place is so unprofessional. 3 pairs of glasses and still waiting for the last one in over a month because they messed up. And Dwayne jut wants to blow up smoke in your ears. And again does not deliver. I wonder who is the owner of this place. They need to check them out. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Go somewhere where else if you want things done right in a professional way.
Ive come here for years and have always experienced the best customer service. The optometry staff are excellent and address any concerns. Everyone works really well with eachother keeping the shop running like a well oiled machine. I never spend more time there than I should. I will only come here.
Been wearing glasses since grade school - this is the first time the full amount was expected before work begins on the order! In all the different places Ive used over the years, I leave a deposit and pay the balance on receipt. Seems insane for a purchase that for me averages about $600! What if the prescription is wrong?(it happens) What if the order is mixed up? (One place accidentally switched two customers frames). I would have no recourse here if they already have the full amount due. Hmmm. Not convinced about this place yet.
HORRIBLE SERVICE AND PRODUCT!! Avoid These People And Go Someplace Else. They start off nice to get your business then once they have you money treat you like garbage.Lucy was obnoxious, aggressive, and very disrespectful. DeWayne was non-responsive and incompetent. If that wasnt bad enough, the gave me the wrong prescription!!
The optometrist was great. She was willing to answer all my questions and helped me feel comfortable. They manager was new and not as knowledgable. She kept pushing the expensive pacakges. She even gave me an attitude when I said that I didnt want all the extras she was pandering.
I have been calling on different times of the day and also on different days for my daughter‘s contact lenses, they don’t pick up the phone. I almost tried 15 times or more , the answering machine says we ll answer your call as soon as possible but seriously no one picks up the phone, very bad customer service

2022-07-20Wish I would’ve read the reviews prior to going to this sad, so-called vision place. SO BE FOREWARNED!!!! This place is an absolute horror show. Nobody greets you when you walk in and never once looking up to see who entered. When you introduce yourself, EVERYONE HAS AN ATTITUDE. (Sorry for interrupting but I have an appointment). It’s seriously bizarre behavior and it feels as if you’re in the twilight zone. I counted 7 employees when I entered the store and every single one of them were on their cell phones as the store phones were ringing off the hook. Including what I would later learn would be the “eye doctor” giving my exam who’s name was Arthur. After being told to have a seat outside of his office and waiting nearly a half hour, he comes out, calls me in, and 5 minutes later, just like that I’m out. Never asked me any questions and when I asked a question, I was cut short and rushed out of the exam room. Nobody says a word to you!!! It is absolutely bizarre. After being rushed out of my eye exam, I was then directed to a “technician” who points to the wall and says “Go pick your frames”. No help, no advice, no nothing from ANYONE!!! Do yourself a favor and either stay blind or go elsewhere!!! Davis Vision on Central Park Ave. is the worst place for eye care. Honestly, I have to question if they’re even licensed. P.S. Davis Vision don’t insult my intelligence with a computer generated apology. That seems to be your “M.O.”! JUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AND FIX THE PROBLEM. Can’t believe you’re still in business…

2022-04-11I am still so upset about my experience here.I booked my appointment online for a Saturday. I had an 11:40AM appointment. There was literally no one in the whole place. The receptionist at the front desk didn’t even say good morning and just directed me to sit in the back. Clearly no customer service skills at all.I went to the directed place and waited and waited and waited. I was attended about 12:10.When I finally walked into the appointment room I see no doctor. At that point I was told it will be remote.I was so mad at this point and let it be known that if I would have known it was going to be remote I would have not scheduled Al appointment. No where online was it stated.Took FOREVER to get through this disaster of an exam. The remote doctor was really nice. I had no issues with her.The icing on the cake is no contacts to wear as a trial pair for 4-6 weeks. Ridiculous!!!!I walked out of that place at 1:30PMI would rather go elsewhere and pay out of my pocket than to deal with this place again.Stay away!!!

2022-07-10My appointment was at 3:40pm I arrived by 3:50pm while waited for someone to assist me at the from desk it was 3:53pm I apologize I was 10 min late. She said they had a grace period of 10 min and that I was not going to be seen because I was late 10 min. Made no sense to me, wish I had seen reviews before booking my appointment here. I had an emergency and I thought how lucky of me to have found an appointment the next day. What a disappointment. So different from the other locations Ive been to.

2022-05-26I had my appointment on April 18th. Scheduled it for 10:00am. Had to wait an hour then another 30 minutes to get serviced. I am still waiting for my glasses that I paid for. You call and can’t get anyone on the phone at all. The automated system is useless. I will never come back here again.

2022-05-12Overbooked and understaffed. I took the day off to book my appoinment and they called to cancel. They did not have weekend availability on the weekends for another 6 weeks. They also will not help book an appoinment at another location.

2022-04-18Won’t tend to customers about one hour earlier before closing - so if this is the case they should update their hours on their website and everywhere else online so their customers won’t waste their time driving up to their store. I much prefer their Kingsbridge location in the Bronx (Broadway and W 231st St)!

2021-10-15Despite being really busy, the Doctor and the Front Desk Clerk were very polite and professional. They got to everyone pretty quickly. Definitely going back, they have a great selection.

2021-06-23The doctor I saw was rude and rushed my exam. When he asked me which lens was better one or two and I asked him to show me again, he kept telling me it’s the same and would move on to the next set of lenses. He also told me to take off the mask because it would fog the lens but the mask was NOT fogging the lens! Today I picked up my glasses and everything was blurry!! I can’t see properly through them and I’m going to try to get an appointment with the female doctor. I’m hoping she is better then the obnoxious, rude, arrogant doctor I originally saw.

2021-04-09This is my first time getting my glasses through this Central Avenue, Yonkers location. I must say I am very disappointed with their services. They texted me to inform me my glasses were ready (I ordered two). When I got there only one was ready and they said my 2nd pair would be ready the following Monday. I waited until the Wednesday to see if my glasses were ready...called four times, tried on line to no avail. Called again today (the following Friday and could not get any human to answer the phone to give a yes or a no on the status of my glasses). Will not go to this site again because customer service leaves much to be desired.

2021-07-21Horrible service. I should have read the reviews before going there. Acted like they had hundred people waiting, no one was in the store -for a reason. They wanted me to make an appointment with the guy who measures the glasses to answer just a simple question regarding the lenses of the glasses that I had just picked up. They could not be bothered. Avoid this place at all costs.
