Arrived at east Northport location to obtain price for new lenses , as I have no insurance eyeglass coverage. I had been a customer for 10 years and had insurance coverage at the time. I was greeted with a temperature check, barely was able to complete my inquiry question. I was not there for an exam. I was abruptly told “ make an appointment , we are very busy “. Understandable. So I Took my prescription and purchased $600 eyewear elsewhere, very satisfied. I am trying to cancel my appointment with vision works as a courtesy, cannot get through and no where on web site to cancel.
Great experience! Staff was wonderful especially Alicia who helped us choose the right eyewear choice for my son as well as help get repair/replacement lenses for his sunglasses that were scratched.Very professional,not pushy and great deal on 2 pairs of single lenses for only $59. 2 pairs of progressives for $99. Large selection of frames to choose from for men and double the choices for women.Have been going here for years and always have had a great experience.Hours are great as well.
I will never go back to the store ever again if I could rate zero stars I would. I was so badly treated at this location. I had my exam done along with getting a new pair of glasses, went to pick them up they were never adjusted or fitted correctly to my face the woman handed me my glasses and sent me on my way never once came over to make sure that they weren’t loose or never made sure that they fit my face properly. When I went home I didn’t not like how the frames fit my face without my mask on and I had an issue with the prescription I felt like it wasn’t strong enough and the glasses kept sliding off my face .. I called to make an appointment they scheduled me for a Saturday I went on that Saturday to be told that there was no doctor in to see me and didn’t know why I was scheduled for a Saturday. I said OK no problem I can reschedule they told me that I can come in on Tuesday and get my eyes rechecked and return my glasses for new ones. I went in on that Tuesday and I saw the Doctor Who strengthened my prescription and I went to go pick out new glasses, a man Gary came to help me and he came off very rude and asked what was going on I explained my situation and I asked him if he had the specific pair of glasses that were on their website in the store to try on he did not even look at my phone he was very short with meAnd said no. I said okay and kept browsing, after looking at their small selection and already being turned off by his attitude I told the man that did not see anything that I like here so I’m going to take the prescription to a different Location and would like to return the glasses that I originally purchased here. he told me there is no way that could be done because there is no manager on site. so I proceeded to explain that when I was there on Saturday he cut me off and said yeah yeah but I’m not doing the return I can’t and I said sir you’re not even letting me speak and he said well it really doesn’t matter anyway because I’m not doing the return . so I took my glasses and my new prescription and I went down to Hauppauge location the same night, I explained my situation and without any hesitation Bob let me choose new glasses and did the return with absolutely no problem he was so nice and kind and so apologetic for how I was miss treated at Northport. I highly recommend the Hauppauge location such nice workers caring, really like what they do and they have a much larger selection of glasses.
Ive been handling my prescription through this location for at least 6 years and i have never met nastier employees. Every single visit i make to this location, albeit very infrequently do I go in to the store, the staff are unpleasant, rude, and downright unapologetic for their demeanor and mannerisms. This hasnt changed or improved over the time that I visited this location. In short, I would advise anyone looking for glasses to shop elsewhere to avoid the overpriced frames, abysmal service, and downright miserable staff.
FANTASTIC service. Everyone working there is extremely knowledgeable, professional and courteous. They fully explain what, and why, theyre doing each step of the way. After you purchase glasses or contacts if there are any problems, or adjustments needed, theyre more than happy to help. Theyve totally earned my, and my families, business. I absolutely love this place.
When I called I spoke to Jennifer. Jennifer was helpful and very pleasant. She gave me an appointment and said I could come in right away. I have been coming here since 2006 and have always been satisfied. Gary helped me pick out a perfect pair of glasses for my face. Anthony gave me the Optomap test which is the latest technology and can detect the earliest signs of disease on your retina. . I also have to also mention Deb because she was behind the desk and was very nice. Overall I would definitely recommend my friends to come here!
I rarely ever feel the need to write negative reviews, but whoever answers the phone here is extremely rude. I’ve been getting my eye exams done here for a while and to be honest I’ve had quite a few negative experiences over the years. The woman on the phone asked for my last name and when I said it she actually angrily screamed into the phone “EXCUSE ME?” about 2-3 times, as if I had cursed at her or something. It was pretty bizarre, I’m still not sure why she was so angry but if I were management here I would want to know that people who are calling the store are being yelled at like children lol.
I have just had a terrific experience at Davis visionworks in East Northport!! Staff member Jessica spent an hour on the phone with my insurance company prior to my arrival after a brief phone call. After they figured everything out, salesman and manager were able to provide me with an additional discount on top of my insurance kickback AND they faxed everything in for me!! THANK YOU GUYS!!! 5 stars and happy New Years!! Great team in East Northport!!! Cheers

2022-08-14I have been going to this location for years and every time I go I pray that the office manager is not there. Employees are constantly changing and Im almost positive its because of The office manager (women, strong accent). The way she talks to her staff is extremely unprofessional which makes me sad because the experience I had with the male technician and the assistant in the exam room was wonderful. Their laugh together is so contagious which is very much needed at this location.After having my exam, I just wanted to pay for it and get my script. I was told by her that in order to get the discount from my insurance, glasses has to be purchased the same day as the exam. I told her that the appointment took longer then expected and I cant get glasses today. She was not happy. I will not be going back.I wish the best for the staff and suggest that they document all inappropriate/abusive verbal communication and report it! With the lack of staff shortage all around, she should really appreciate those that are working there. Maybe Visionworks should look into sending their management staff to sensitively classes.

2022-04-09I waited over an hour after my scheduled appointment time for my exam to take place. All remote doctors, although I wasnt informed of this until the morning of my appointment. Then, after the remote technician came up with a new lens prescription, I had to wait 20 more minutes for a remote doctor! Total time to get a new prescription, and order new glasses: 2 hours and 20 minutes.I am not a fan of the remote exam. Its convenient for Davis, but inferior for the patient, at the same exorbitant cost.

2022-06-22Been going there for years, but that is about to end. Made my appt online, was not told that if I didnt pick a specific doctor i would get a tv to talk to for my exam, found that out when I arrived at appt. Then the rest of the office visit was just horrible. Then I was told my glasses would arrive within a week. Now it has been 10 days and I called and only to talk to a recording that understands not a word i say or type in which lasted about 25 minutes, before I get a human on the phone, which speaks very little english who says my glasses wont be in for another week. I ask to speak with someone at the store, they said no one is answering. Have no idea what happen to Davis, but definitely went down the tubes! Extremely disappointed with the entire process. Such a shame

2022-08-25Very expensive even with my great insurance.Before I got this insurance I usually went to Costco and paid significantly less.Good luck trying to get them on the phone. As I type this I have been on hold for 12 minutes.

2022-07-25This place is the worst. Lied about my insurance and then tried to charge me more. Then they never follow up about the contacts coming in. Horrible experience. On top of that, you cant call anyone, it brings you to an automated system and you cant talk to anyone in the store.

2022-01-24It took them forever to get my prescription for me. When my glasses finally did come in the second I put my glasses on it felt like I was looking cross side. The lenses they made were never comfortable for my eyes. It was only after going to another eyeglass store that I learned why they could never get my prescription right. They use cheap materials for the lenses. The reason your eyeglasses are so cheap and the reason that they offer those ridiculous 40% off the sales is because the contractors they use are garbage. I will never use another Visionworks store ever anywhere. They are trash

2021-11-19I came in for a regular eye exam as a new patient. I met with Dr. Hildy Hirsch whose customer service was extremely unprofessional.She was visibly and audibly upset with me that I did not know the specific numbers to my previous contact prescription. I have never been asked this question, and so I was unprepared to give such specifics.My partner recommended this Davis Vision location based on his prior great experience with Dr. Blum. My partner, who was sitting just outside the door and listening in on my appointment with Dr. Hirsch, was also appalled by Dr. Hirsch’s tone of voice, and even had the thought of walking in to defend me.Overall, I do not recommend Dr. Hirsch. Otherwise the front desk customer service and even Dr. Blum are great.

2022-01-01Id give zero stars if I could. Zero customer service. The staff makes you feel as if you are interrupting their busy day with sarcasm and infighting amongst each other. Dont forget the persistent upsell of your insurance coverage as well as their desire to charge for items you did not approve. Steer Clear and go ANYWHERE else but here!

When you go to the store no one knows anything about your contacts or order they don’t even try to help you. I’ve been coming here for 3 years and as each year passes it gets worse!!

2021-10-11Visionworks is free for many insurances for a reason. They have extremely limited capability outside of eye exams in person and fulfilling those prescriptions. They dont even have the ability to email a copy of the prescription to you and/or other places (like Warby Parker). Avoid this place if you can.
