The food was good. But what amazed me was the behavior of the stuff. They were concern about the fact that they need to serve the food asap as lot of people were breaking their fast. Also they have complimentary dates (fruits) for everyone. They were very polite and fast. The prices are very reasonable and in a range of $$.
If I listened to the negative reviews for this restaurant I would have never tasted the best butter chicken Ive ever tried. This is officially my main destination for Garlic Naan and Butter Chicken. It tasted so good, the flavor, the spice was all perfect. I have to try more dishes next time, definitely going back. Clean, cozy and friendly environment. Big plus, plenty of parking.
Right now the best one when comparing jackson Heightss Dasi ( Indian Pakistani Bangladeshi ) restaurants .Fresh food .Mild salt & spice .( Good for high blood pressure consumers ) .Naan ( oven baked pita bread ) are much much better than what jackson Heightss restaurants are serving .Chapli kababs were super soft and tasty ( may be cause were prepared right on time) .Beef Hakeem was also very good .as a good cook I like their food .next time if visit my friend Atiq ur Rehman who invited me last two times at Dawat E Khas ( Special food invitation is the english translation) ..I will try few different items ..recommended ..also the gentlemen working at the counter is a very nice employee God /Allah /Dios /Bahgwan bless him all the Best of His best .Ameen
It is pretty hard to find a great restaurant that serves Pakistani food. Most of the restaurants dont follow authentic recipes. I was pretty skeptical about Dawat E Khaas at the beginning. But I was surprised and amazed by the quality of the food in Dawat E Khaas. It tastes fantastically awesome! I had the feeling that the food got brought straight from Pakistan. The portions are very generous and the prices are very decent. I loved it!
Good Pakistani food on N Central Avenue is a blessing. Restaurant has booth seating placed alongside the wall which makes it ideal for small groups. Prepared dishes are displayed behind the glass partition for easy selection by the customers. By looking at the prepared food a savvy customer can easily distinguish between stale and freshly cooked cuisine. Its always advisable to ask the counter help about the freshest dish made and put in the display case at the time of your visit there.
Ordered chicken makhni with 3 naan. Naan was good-it’s hard to mess up a naan BUT chicken makhni was watered like I’ve never seen before in my life. I’m a big fan of chicken makhni overall, and this had to be by far the worst in consistency, that was missing the thickness and texture that a proper chicken makhni is really known for. Thank god I didn’t order a Haleem or a halwa puri like I wanted 😔
It breaks my heart to give this place one star. We used to come here all the time. I recommended this place to all my friends and family. I never forget the time when the owner served us Kashmiri Pink Chai, I have never tasted anything like it since. Unfortunately the day to day manager destroyed that restaurant. He purposely treats customers like garbage and makes you hate coming to the restaurant. We tried speaking to the owner, and so have others . Until that manager is gone, I refuse to eat there. I dont care how good the food is.
If you like quality and freshly cooked food, then this is not the place for you. The food is sitting in a buffet at 7pm. I placed an order and they sold me the stale food from the buffet. If you are dining they heat up the buffet food and serve it. Go to HILLSIDE the food there is freshly cooked. SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN AND READ THE REVIEWS. THE TOP ONES ARE THE COVERUPS
First thing.. Pay attention to the small sink behind the counter how filty it is... Stainless steel but its white... Nasty nasty nasty...I told him to clean it....They supposed to sanitize..... I see roach in the sweet case... Flies in the sweet case..I had to point it out to them.. .
I wish I give this restaurant 0 stars . Owner is so cheap if you ask for green chatni ( sauce) he won’t give you other Resturant give you couple of them . Beside that I once got Khabob roll usually it cost 3 dollars . He raise his price week later he open Resturant. He think he is the I my guy who got restaurant in Valley stream. Guy is unprofessional and disrespectful. Once I order samosas over the phone Dane to pick up he told me he sold to someone. Try to avoid this guy all cost .
I was driving back to Connecticut from New York and have eight at almost every desi spot in queens The food was OK not the best however the service was amazing and sometimes thats all that matters they packed my food for the 2 hour drive perfectly gave me onions lemon salad raita stuff that usually other restaurants are cheap about and even advised me what was cooked fresh that same day. I will be back thanks guy for the great service and packing my food perfectly oh and naans with sesame were perfect kulcha style not to fat like other places 👍
The ownership recently changed, and with it the food quality has gone down the drain. The new workers/owners look tired, and without desire. Literally, not a single thing is good here.Worst nihari Ive ever had. Its microwaved, and the meat was just lumps of fat, from an old bhens (buffalo) rather than a cow (tender meat). They probably used their own masala, i could taste the powder or ataa in the salan and overall it tasted like gosth ka salan rather than a nihari. Didnt have the consistency, taste, color or the smell of nihari. It was that bad.Even worst, their naans and roti were terrible as well. Gulab Jamuns looked stale and a week old.
The food was quite good. I had the Chana Dal brown rice, whole wheat roti. He put both white and green sauce . Oh yes and also I had a salad . The green sauce was very mild had a tiny hint of mint in it very refreshing. White sauce was creamy almost like salad dressing but not really . It was tasty and had a seasoning in it Ive never tasted before that was quite good . Really wanted a mango lassi ... They do not have mango lassi except in the summer. The fella was nice. I would likely go back.
I live up the block from this place. Ive never had Pakistani/indian food prior. My Pakistani friend used to bring me kebob rolls from BK and i missed them when he moved. I gave this place a try . Maaannnn... the rolls were identical if not better. Fresh naan, fresh kebobs and the mint sauce added that extra touch . I read someone thought the samosas were frozen prior, well youre wrong. They dont always have them which means theyre made on certain days , FYI also really good. Only giving a 4 not 5 because sometimes you do have to wait longer than expected for your food but then again yoi have the option to call ahead. I recommend this place if you love kebob rolls.
When I went to this restaurant, I thought I was going to a regular, sit-down restaurant, but this is more like a take-out restaurant with about 10 booths. They have large pans of food already prepared, as well as food that may be ordered off a paper menu. I ordered a vegetable samosa, which was good. It tasted like it was frozen and heated up in the microwave. It was served with a small green salad and pale green sauce. I also ordered from the prepared food: chicken tikka masala and chicken meat balls. It comes with rice but I requested no rice, so the waiter brought me another small green salad. It was good. I felt that the chicken meatballs, which were served in a brown sauce was very tasty. I did not like the chicken tikka. The chicken was mixed, both white and dark meat. The sauce was very tomatoey, more like marina sauce than masala sauce. The chicken was not grilled; it was stewed. I ordered onion kulcha and garlic nan. The bread was delicious. I would go back for the bread and salad. I was too full to eat dessert but I would go back to try the desserts. The restaurant is more Pakistani, rather than Indian. The wait staff and the men working behind the counter were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very clean. I saw they have some typical Pakistani dishes, like kabobs with rice and on pita bread. I would go back and try those specials. Prices were very inexpensive.
I used to like this place at first but now not worth spending money in this place food taste terrible nan comes out burned and the curry and butter chicken are the worst I ever had. When I spoke to the manager he appeared very rude and didn’t seems to care much. I rather order from another restaurant

2022-07-17A review from my heart. I went today (07/17/22) with my wife. The owner was by himself working and his only priority was to make sure the customers were serviced in a timely manner. His food, customer service was on point. I enjoyed my time there. May Allah bless his business.

2022-04-06I ate the gyro the other day and it was very delicious. Now let me tell you, it is not cheap at $6, but it was so tasty I had to get some today. I got 3 of them and the first bite was disgusting. It was hard and burnt chicken and I KNOW YOU PEOPLE RUSHED MY ORDER😡🤬. I am sad that you can do this to customers. My stomach hurts and I might get sick now: I feel so sad about the wasted money☹️☹️

2018-12-29Visiting NY and I came to this place to pick up an order of Samosas. The place seems to be alright. I didnt try the food but the aroma made it appealing. They have options to dine-in although I did see a number of people taking to-gos. Must be a regular thing there. The cuisine is primarily meat and Pakistani based. Parking can be an issue if its peak time.

2022-02-28I’m a regular customer. My favorite is kadhi pakora, which sometimes they have. I also like chapli kabobs, shami kabobs, and had vegetarian channa dal. Everything was fresh and delicious. The naan was perfect! Not to fat and burnt, like from other places, which we do not go to anymore. They are nice and considerate. The restaurant is clean, we come when I have a day off from cooking! LOL

2022-04-15Delicious and affordable. Authentic food served at reasonable prices. Even with all the inflation and craziness going on, the quality of their food is good and the the prices dont hurt the pocket.

2022-02-19Honestly, the food here is disgusting. It is old and it smells. Bought the food and my whole family got sick. If I could give this place a 0 star rating I would. Please save yourself from this horrible overpriced place.
