Dawn and her staff are amazing! Every time I’ve gone i have had great service. Love the atmosphere and decorations.. the whole place makes you feel at home... large variety of food items (pizza is the absolute BEST) but everything I’ve ordered has been fantastic. Highly recommend
I’m from Minnesota and came through for work as I’m always in NY for distribution and my oh my Lauren was such a good host/bartender.... the Carolina wings are the best around and the service snd atmosphere was amazing. I’d come back everyday if possibles. Would recommend! 👍🏽
Visiting Albany and this seems to be one of the only places open after 10pm, so that automatically gets 5 stars in my book. Service was great! But cmon Albany, why are you so dead at night??
Got to our hotel in Albany late and starving, walked the block being turned away everywhere until we got to Dawn’s. The owner herself turned on the fryers and made us pizza and wings, the bartender was great and attentive as well. Whenever I find myself in Albany in the future I’m stopping here for at least a drink. I would recommend this place to anyone!
This place has a lot of potential but we had extremely terrible service from who I believe was the owner.
Great place for parties! My boss had an event here and Dawn was great to work with. Food was delicious, she was able to cater to our St Pattys Day theme and tweak her menu for us and the service was great.We had the party in the beautifully remodeled upstairs room and we were able to bring in a little band. Had a great night. Thank you!
Service was quick as we ordered ahead of time , food was reasonably priced., good size portions. Fish and Chips were very tasty . Salads were fresh and tasty. Only issue was server didn’t want to do separate checks for a party of 5 which had she realized her tip would have been double by doing it that way. I would definitely return for lunch. 👍
Delicious food. Went during Albany restaurant week for the first time. The portions were regular-sized (unlike some other restaurants I went to) & the food was great. I especially loved the lava cake dessert. It was one of the best Ive ever had. Wait staff was friendly.
Wee reserved the second-floor room for our office holiday party and the organizer asked the bartender if the second-floor room is accessible (as one of our colleagues is using a wheelchair) and was told that it was through the back door.Upon arriving at the business location, the owner brought a metal ramp, but that it was not enough as it just allowed her to get the wheelchair over the first step. Afterwards, she had to come out of the wheelchair and crawl over the other two steps and on the floor to get in. We helped her get up and she was able to use crutches to get to the dining area without the wheelchair. Any decent human being should see there is something wrong with this picture. No person should have to crawl on the floor and be humiliated to get into any establishment. There was no effort to help or sympathy on the part of management, not even an offer of compensation for the lack of accessibility into this business. She was not even offered any wipes to clean her hands that got quite dirty after crawling on the floor. By the way the restrooms are located at the first floor and are not wheelchair accessible either.I advised the owner that they must build an access ramp because it is discriminatory not to provide access to a public establishment for all patrons. The owner stated that the business was “grandfathered” because it’s a historic one and that, while she does not really “have to provide wheelchair access “, she is willing to do so. This was followed by the owner stating that she thinks that the neighbor/owner of the parking lot next to the backdoor of the second floor does not want a ramp. She also asked me if I knew of some state grants to help pay for it when it should be her job as a business owner to provide access to the establishment to all, not a select group of patrons. Oh and the food as cold...
So... Im new to Dawns. Cant believe its taken me this long to find it. Hands down, the best bar food in the region. Ive had the Buffalo chicken wrap, which, admittedly, sounds uneventful. But!!! Fear not!!! Its amazing!! Best in Albany!!Theyre doing a great job with Covid, which means they care about you. Incredible staff, Dawn and Autumn are simply wonderful. Grateful for good people. They deserve your business Albany!!!!!!
Food wasnt the greatest. And, the bartender wasnt exactly the best choice to engage (new) customers. Also, on a second visit, I walked in behind another person of color and a staff member, who was sitting at the bar, asked: where would you guys like to sit? Both of us looked at each other, smiled and told her we werent together.
Wanted to like this place. Its cute inside, food was pretty good, but the service was bad for anyone that isnt a regular. Also, no prices on the menu and got upcharged $3 for waffle fries and $2 for adding chicken to the chicken quesadilla.

Spend your money somewhere else, but if you go, review your check closely.. Service was horrible. I had to get our second round of drinks from the bar myself because our waitress disappeared. We were charged for double the amount of drinks we ordered including a $1.75 up-charge for Jack Daniels on an already $9 Manhattan. Two pieces of sausage on each slice of a $15 pizza is ridiculous. Owner has no concept of customer service. Good thing the hotel is next door to provide fresh customers because I can’t imagine anyone going there regularly.
We had a blast here on our road trip through Albany. Cocktails and draft beers were great. Really fun environment during a Yankees game so we stuck around to watch College football and eat delicious pizza.
Lauren is beautiful and thoughtful. She will take care of you. The hummus they have is very good. You dont taste this anywhere else.

Service was horrible. Had to borrow salt and pepper from the couple next to us. Waited 1.5 hours for food even though Resturant was not packed. Only one waitress who had a very rude attitude. By the time the food came out i was so scared to eat it because I was scared she may have tampered with it in the kitchen. This is by far some of the worst customer service that I have experienced. I unfortunately had the experience of dining here with my colleagues on three separate occasions for office events. The first was back in September for an office birthday celebration. The staff and the owner were very standoffish, rude, and unaccommodating. This was brushed off as a bad day at the cafe. However, last week I came to celebrate a coworkers retirement at this establishment and once again the experience was horrible. We had a colleague that has physical disabilities and is in a wheelchair. When we asked the bartender how can this colleague access the cafe she shrugged it off and said we have no way for disabled persons to come in so if she wants to come in carry her. This very off putting response was troubling to say the least and on the border of discrimination. After a back and forth banter the owner comes out with a metal ramp to be used to get my coworker in through the cafe door. She did so begrudgingly and stated you should have called ahead!. This response showed no concern or compassion for people with disabilities and showed lack of respect and empathy for those who are not physically able. Any patron should be able to come into the establishment during the normal hours of operations without having to worry about whether an establishment has access. To say the least unfortunately the office holiday party was scheduled at this place a week later (which is today). The owner Dawn once again made a fuss about having to accommodate my coworker with a disability. Upon arrival my coworker had to come in through a back door and come out of her wheel chair and crawl on the floor to get into this establishment. Any decent human being should see there is something wrong with this picture. No person should have to crawl on the floor and be humiliated to get into any establishment. The owner begrudgingly got the metal ramp to assist with wheel chair access. The chair ended up being left in the exit which is a major fire hazard for all patrons in the establishment. My coworker who is at this point now chair-less had to find a way to make it to the dining area without a chair. The owner Dawn made no apologies about the situation or sought out to compensate my disabled coworker for her trouble. This piss-poor customer service and discriminatory behavior is horrifying. I suggest anyone who believes in human decency should stay far away from this place as possible! The owner and her staff have no empathy and seriously lack customer service. Three strikes and this place is out! Never again! And, I hope you dont dine here either!
I visited Dawns in order to host a fundraiser and was very satisfied with the second floors event space. The room has been renovated to present a very modern atmosphere and the staff is very accommodating, friendly, and attentive.In addition, the food is definitely a notch above traditional bar food - the macncheese pizza is excellent.
Service is awful unless you are a local. Food was not good at all and when after an hour asked how our meal was I explain it was not so good. The bartender looked at me like I was lying. She did absolutely nothing for us.
Great bar. Bit of a sausage party on the Tuesday night I stopped by, but this is basically what you want in a bar. Makes the Hampton Inn worth staying at over the Hilton.
Came in at first delighted to have found such a nice place, with reasonable prices and really good food....just to realize we did not receive our full order of food. By this time we did not have time to wait for the food or even want it so we told our waitress. She spoke to her manager and came back and told us she cant do anything for us. We asked to speak to the manager (who we found out was the owner) and she was VERY rude, refused to do anything for us except take off FIFTY CENTS?? She told us do you know how expensive it is to change the menu or order the food ummmm thats not our problem as a business owner you should not have something on your menu as coming a certain way IF IT DOESNT COME THAT WAY. And why should we have to pay for your FALSE ADVERTISING? We even tried saying we will pay HALF PRICE for the order since it did not come complete and she WOULD NOT DO IT. Then she tried blaming us for wanting a free meal??!?!? A FREE MEAL? WE WERE WILLING TO PAY, BUT WHY SHOULD WE PAY FOR HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FOOD WE NEVER EVEN GOT?!?!?! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. WORST OWNER EVER. And the sad thing was we loved the food and were talking about COMING BACK until this happened. ALL THIS WOMAN WANTS IS MONEY, AND SHE CLEARLY DOESNT CARE HOW SHE GETS IT. This was all over FIVE DOLLARS. All we wanted was FIVE DOLLARS taken off our bill b/c we did not receive our food and she couldnt even do that. We were basically BULLIED into paying for food we DID NOT receive b/c she had FOUR GUYS try to follow us and she even CALLED THE COPS. The whole ordeal was VERY unprofessional and absolutely ridiculous. I dont recommend the place to ANYONE, and if you do go MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR MEAL FIRST AND THAT YOU ACTUALLY GET WHAT THE MENUS SAYS YOU SHOULD!!!!
Great Food!!! Great friendly staff the food is out of this world a definite must if you are in the area go to this place and everybody in there was very friendly and very sociable but again the food was out of this world!!! Amazing!!
This is very much a classy local bar & restaurant. Food was traditional American, prepared well, and cooked to order. Staff was accommodating to special requests and menu modifications. Several beers on-tap. Experienced bartenders that pour a nice pint (i.e. shamrock in head of Guinness). Audience-influenced music via modern jukebox that is smartphone accessible. No complaints.
Was pleasantly surprised with the tasty food. Had a great time with my wife .Went back again 9/2019 for pearlapalooza and had this tasty pizza and mozzarella ball!
Weve tried most of the items on the menu and everything is great. The bartenders and food runners are very pleasant! Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Dont think restaurant week is going to impress you! Pretty sure that steak is not on their regular menu. 12 oz with 6 oz of uneatible gristle and fat, dry potatoes and barely cooked Brussel sprouts. Brownie for dessert. Applebees would have done à much better job. Skip Victory!
If ignorance is bliss, this place is heaven. Has always catered to a pretty bigoted fanbase, but the staff just proved to be very much the same. Oh, but try the blackened chicken sandwich.

Good sports bar with friendly staff. Lots of menu choices and drinks. Plenty of TVs, and incredibly clean restrooms.
Nothing fancy, but good for pub grub and a button-down, sports-bar type of vibe, definitely more personable than PSP.
They have beer and it was next to the hotel I was staying at. Bartender was friendly and that was about it. No real draw to this place other than the fact that the bar at the hotel closes at the strangest times.
We really enjoyed our time here. The bartender Jordan was great. Recommend!

2022-03-08Stopped in for a drink an to possibly hangout after a long trip but , as soon as we walked up to the bar to see what they had , one of the female bartenders was rude asking us what we wanted before we could even see what selection of alcohol was available * not much of anything really or anything that caught my eye . She then proceeded to ask for my ID it’s very understandable so I didn’t mind , but due to standing behind ppl that were seated at the bar it was hard to hand it over so I slid it on the bar once again same bartender was rude an made a comment about me throwing it at her ? I took my shot an payed. Me & my friends left quickly , don’t think I’ll be back to that bar next time I’m in town.

2021-05-30Very covid safe. Tables are spread apart and staff wears a mask. I got the Mac and cheese which was okay, it had a good crunch but tasted mostly like butter. My partner got the chicken bacon ranch wrap no tomato. We were surprised to see their wrap was a tomato wrap (instead of plain). There were a lot of other food options we wanted to try and will give the food another go. Ps. The French frys and chips were AMAZING!

2019-10-27This place is incredible. I have been looking for a bar to call home in Alb and I believe I found it. The owners were very welcoming and kind. I had a great time last night for Halloween. The place is clean. The bartender, a young woman was courteous, intelligent, fast and very cool. I highly recommend a stop at Dawns if your in town or live here!

2022-02-18SOME of the upstate establishments that I have been to have truly showed their true colors. You play music of your liking and there will always be a negative comment of pure ignorance. Last time that I checked music is universal and there are different genres of music not just one type. Most uncultured people don’t understand that. If you don’t like diversity you shouldn’t be in business. With that being said I will spend my money elsewhere.

2021-07-08Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable about the entire menu. The food was above average. When we were there it wasnt busy which is why I didnt understand why it took so long to get our check. Our server started out good and then just kinda dropped the ball at the end.
