So far, the process of checking in was quick and there were no qualms in getting our room. The room was clean and you can see there was some level of detail to thoroughly disinfect the room before a new guest arrives. As a stopover as we await to pickup our college student, I would recommend this location for brief stays. I will see how Break-Fast is in the morning.
Front desk staff...useless and unfriendly. Rooms a disaster....smelled like mildew, blankets havent been washed in a good long while. Bathroom was filthy. Urine all over the toilet..chair from 1970 was so covered in stains....had entertained asking for a different room but my brothers next to us was no better .. everyone has off times and sometimes are overwhelmed... But this is beyond that... I beg you to keep searching...if you really cant find anything else... Theres a Walmart down the street... Buy a tent and sleep in there parking lot... It will be cleaner and I guarantee their staff will be more helpful. If management happens to read this and I hope you do... Please set fire to this disaster or do a major overhaul so no one has to endure the disgustingniss that was room 204 for another night.
Go to a different hotel unless you’re really on a budget. AC in some rooms don’t work, the hotel smells like B/O, the front desk staff aren’t helpful. The shower water leaves you feeling slimy and you can hear everything in the hallway and other rooms. Have fun lugging your stuff up the stairs as well. Don’t recommend, the staff and owner don’t care
Filthy! Every towel was dirty and stained. Wish I can show pictures to show. The building has a musty smell and my husband had to clean the filter to the air conditioner. Unfortunately there was no other hotel in the area with vacancy. Hoping I don’t leave with bed bugs.
The staff was unfriendly upon arrival seeming annoyed to get up from watching tv to check us in. The bathroom looks nothing like the pictures they display on their website. It was very unsanitary and there was mold in the crevices of the tile. The King bedroom looks a lot bigger online than it actually is. The walls are very thin (you can hear the people around you very easily). Lastly I grabbed a muffin from the breakfast bar on my way out and it was rock solid.
Very friendly staff. Extremely CLEAN rooms, public access areas. Cleaning staff was wonderful. She didnt knock on the door like so many to see if we were ready to have our room cleaned! NO, she asked us if we NEEDED ANYTHING. It was so nice to have them check-up to see if we were ok or if we needed extra towels, etc., not rushing us at all!!!
The beds were comfortable and the bedding appeared clean. The bathroom was a little dirty under the sink and around the tub. The biggest negative was the strong musty smell in the room. I had to go buy an air freshener. The Best Western was a much better place to stay.
Nice, clean tidy rooms and bathrooms. Staff is very friendly and always available for any assistance. Excellent choices for breakfast and coffee. Prices are pretty reasonable, along with the excellent, fast WiFi. Would certainly recommend to others and definitely would come back again!
Relatively clean, that may be the only positive thing I could say. Some aspects were really grungy and made the stay rather uncomfortable. The bathroom was not clean to our standards... filth on the light switch, stains in the toilet, mold in the shower. Needed a shower, but felt grosser at the thought of taking one there. And the most bothersome aspect was that the room just plain stank. Its a hotel room, its going to smell like other people... but it smelled overwhelmingly unclean. We also stepped out the back door located outside of our room- which noted that the outside door is locked 24 hrs for our safety. It was not locked, we reentered without a key. For over $100 a night definitely would never do again.
The room was disgusting, the entire hotel was not clean at all (you could see the dirt, grime & garbage in the hallways & on the floor & we had a huge wad of hair on our room floor), it smelled like smoke and the service was terrible. Our toilet wouldn’t work & we called the front desk for help & they said “you’re going to need to come down & get a plunger.” We will never stay here again & advise others to stay away as well.
The room was clean comfortable beds. However we got woken up at 7:30 am with loud banging on the window.curtains to find pile wood in front of the window covering it up. Theyre redoing the roof but i would think that they could start the work at like 9 am. And be considerate of people still sleeping! Breakfast buffet is ok.
The room is alright. Toilet paper is a little far from the toilet for a male standing up, and the toilet seemed a little low, but the room was alright. However, the bed was terrible. It had those small dips with sizes akin to the type on the top of an air mattress. It was very uncomfortable and my back hurt in the morning. Breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast. The hotel was pretty clean.
This Days Inn is kind of a dump. Stayed here with a group of six people and all six non smoking rooms reeked of cigarettes. The mini fridge in my room froze all my food, including beer and it was on the warmest setting. The sink was leaking brown sludge onto the tile floor in the bathroom. And the 2 queen beds were more like twin beds. The staff was rude. Short responses and unaccomadating. Avoid this place. Its pretty terrible.
Just a so so hotel. Musty smell throughout hotel...in the hallways and rooms. No elevators. Very small rooms. The continental breakfast was not very desirable. The sink in my room was not clean, it had hair from someone shaving in it. We had trouble checking out, as I told the clerk who checked us in, can hold the room on the credit card but wed be paying cash at check out. Going to check out we were unable to pay cash because they already checked us out using the credit card. We would have had to go through a rigamarole to pay cash. The only good thing, it had a decent bed to lay my head. The price was way too high as we just came from a Hilton the night before, $20 cheaper, bigger rooms, super clean, elevator, pool, and parking garage to name a few things. Wont be staying here again, even though I am a wyndham rewards customer.
Days Inn at Hornell was a high quality budget hotel. Nothing fancy but the room was well kept, the bathroom was nice, though the sink was oddly very short, and it was generally pretty comfortable. We had complimentary breakfast though not much of a spread. Waffles were really all I wanted but it would have been nice if they had some yogurt. Generally it met my expectations.
Room was clean, bed sheet clean no bugs like a few other reviews easy access to hwy and an ok price. Did not have breakfast so cant comment on that.Bed was comfortableBiggest issue was moldy showered and at seems of the tub liner.Lack of Hot water in shower in the Afternoon. It was warm but not hot as i wold like after a long drive. And even bigger issue, the air-conditioning was off prior to check-in to room. The room was boiling hot. Hotter than the shower :-)It did cool down one the AC was on for a couple of hours and water was hot for the morning shower.I know there is being green movements in many hotels and it is certainly important to have that. But in hospitality industry, it is important to have your customers have a good experience. I suggest they start AC an hour before check-in time. Also staff manning the front desk, need to remain fully engaged into who is standing at front desk. If you hear front entry door open, take a peek to see who arrived or left. Should not have to ring bell for someone to show up.For one night stopover , convenient location its okIts rated as 2 star place and that is what it delivered.
Our car broke down on the highway and we needed to have it towed. They took us to this shop that doesnt operate on weekends so we were stranded for the weekend with our 12 year old daughter. We made it to the hotel, which happened to be booked for the night. But they found a room for us and made us feel comfortable and safe. Amazing breakfast bar. Clean room and amazing staff. Real angels
Customer service is awful. We stayed 1 night and had to switch rooms at 1:30am because of bed bugs. The girl at the desk was actually pleasant and let us switch rooms(Thats for the extra star) and said we could talk to the manager in the morning. We went to check out and the morning lady, not sure if she was manager because she wore no name tag, was VERY rude! Didnt even get an apology for the disgusting inconvience we had..... I dont write reviews but this needed to be done
Rooms are in serious need of an update. Hotel interior and rooms are not very clean. Looks like they havent been vacuumed in who knows how long. Place has a very strong chemical odor that attempts to cover up the smell of musty. There is a chair in are room that is so stained, I would never sit there. Extremely disappointed and hoping to survive the night.
The team at Days Inn are Top Notch Rosie at the front desk is amazing and they went above and beyond for me and my family when we were in a bad spot! The room was warm and very clean they told me where to get good food from and all. In just a few minutes we went from being strangers to family! Cant wait until breakfast!
Very loud air conditioner that had to be turned off. That made the room stuffy. I could hear the person upstairs walking around as soon as they got out of bed. And someones alarm. They kept hitting the snooze button. Very poor sound insulation. Usually Days Inns arent too bad, but this is awful.
Have a kid in Alfred. Did a quick trip for the weekend to see the fall colors and a run to Niagara Falls. Stayed here the last night before flying back home. The room was clean, bigger that expected and very comfortable. Breakfast was good, lots to choose from, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, waffles (always my favorite) juice and coffee. Nice and quiet, very convenient to Alfred, Hornell and the highway. Would definitely stay there again.
Had to ring a bell for service. No “Hello”, just “Up the stairs and on your left.” Dusty, dirty carpet and non smoking room reeked of cigarettes. Bed was incredibly uncomfortable. Blanket was dirty. Left with what appear to be bed bug bites. Very pricey for what it is. Look elsewhere, unless you like this kind of thing.
The service we had when we first got there was not the greatest. The girl behind the counter gave my fiancé attitude when it wasnt needed. Then when his aunt and uncle showed up she gave them attitude as well. If you dont like your job, find a different one. The room was clean and we didnt really interact with anyone else, but the first impression we had was not the greatest.
Staff banter in the hallway is that alarm clock you cant turn off at 8am.Majority of tv channels say Weve detected an interruption in your service. Please check the connections. blah blah. Apparently 7 other rooms have the same problem. Every channel that does work has major pixellation glitches and robotic sound.Breakfast was waffles, oatmeal, cereal, and apples. No meat, no yogurt, no other fruit.Room was musty, but clean and no bugs. Room 108.Beds were firm yet comfortable. Fridge and microwave.I paid about $80 after tax. I want my money back.Im never coming back to this hotel.
Regardless of how much you pay, (as they jack the rates up for events,) dont expect much .. actually dont expect anything and then you wont be dissapointed. Its a tolerable place to sleep. At least everything worked. The rooms are small, the walls are thin. You wont see staff after check-in but you will hear them. I suppose there aint much else to do out in these parts but talk.....
Advertised wifi and was relying on it, but there is none in the room. Unsatisfactory answer to my complaint. Wasnt expecting very much to begin with. Room very small and had difficulty even getting suitcases in room and then very difficult to move around. Price way to high for the accommodations.
Warning: no elevator so make sure to confirm a first floor room if there are mobility issues. Sign at check-in notified there was No Spectrum Internet although the TV service was fine. Very poor linens. Room was more expensive than one would expect with the lack of amenities.

2022-06-27We have stayed in a few hotels in this area, and we always come back here! The staff are always nice and helpful with anything you need, or questions you may have. We have stayed in several rooms here, and all have been clean and comfortable! The beds have always given us a GREAT nights sleep! The pillows are super comfy no matter how you sleep! It has always been very quiet, day, or night. In our experience, the other guests are respectful of each other, and polite. The pet policy is very welcoming to those with pets, and all the pet owners we have come across all pick up after thier pets, which you dont always find at other hotels. When you call to make a reservation, Kelly and Liz at the front desk always have helped us above and beyond, and go out of thier way to make sure the guests feel comfortable!

2022-03-08This hotel was the dirtiest of any hotel I have ever stayed in. The front desk clerk was polite. The room was dirty, not dusted, no Kleenex in the holder(just an empty box), a 1/2 roll of toilet paper and no extras. The door to the room was broken, it did not lock automatically. The side door leading into the hall said a key was required to enter, however you did not need one. It was keeped unlocked. The breakfast was stale ceral and cold water to

2022-06-30After driving for 7 hours attending a wedding the only thing we wanted to do was go to bed. I pulled back the covers only to find blood on our sheets that went through to the mattress cover. I would rate it a -0 if I could.

2022-01-01Stay here on 12/27. The first room, that they gave me the TV didnt work So they did give me another room. This room the Toilet was loose from the flow, so it rocked when you sat on it. And the shower did not work. You could not pull up the stopper, to make the shower work. When I mention this at checkout, the response was or I thought those were fixed.

2021-12-06Their policy states they accept pets. After making a reservation online, I called to ask about check-in time and paying the pet fee. They told me they dont accept cats. Policy should be clearer - now we have no place to stay tomorrow.

2021-08-17Room was clean. AC worked well. Room was smaller compared to other hotels. They posted a longer breakfast serve time, 6 am - 10 am, but at 7:45 am there was no food seen other than 2 dry cereals in the very small lobby/breakfast nook. And no one behind the desk to ask questions. If you only want a good clean room for a decent price, this is it.

2021-07-11It was clean and offered us a place to sleep. Its clearly outdated and is in need of some updates. The first floor smelled like the carpet got wet 20 years ago and never completely dried. The front lobby was nicely decorated and the front desk staff were friendly. Easy to check in and out and no major problems. Our bathroom sink had a leaky faucet though.
