The front desk service was friendly and helpful, pool was good and the breakfast was good. But for the price that I had to pay for the smokers room I would have at least expected a room that was updated. For example the bathroom. It seem to be in need of a shower head that was struggling to have pressure. The shower curtain was ripped at the top. The bathroom size and cleanliness are not the the reason for my disappointment. However the cost did not meet what one would expect the room. My suggestions would be for update on beds, a.c. unit, and general small touchs. Again I was 100% completely satisfied with staff.
Upon arrival, the friendly receptionist offered us freshly baked cookies (yummy!). The room was clean, everything worked well, the complex was quiet at night. The hotel also has a pool, but we didnt get to enjoy it this time. Overall a positive experience, I would recommend it.
The kid at the front desk was rude from start to finish with my check in process. Like I was bothering him by bringing my business there. Also the air conditioner was on in the lobby even though it was 37 degrees outside. Brought my family to go swimming at the indoor pool and we nearly froze to death after leaving the pool area. We did enjoy the room. Very comfortable beds and it was very clean
This is a very nice Motel very clean staff is very friendly. They also offer breakfast with coffee and orange juice in the mornings. A variety of rooms smoking and non-smoking. I believe they have a weight room and indoor pool. If Im in the area again would definitely stay wife and I had a great day keep up the great work for thumbs up five stars
Cant believe TripAdvisor suggested this hotel. Pros: friendly desk staff. Cons: this hotel is actually renting long term to families and others. It is home for many, not a hotel. This changes the tone, the noise level. Not quiet. Cars with loud music blaring in the parking lot. Kids running repeatedly by your door. The room is basically clean, but shoddy. The AC unit is leaking and the carpet around it is soaked. Due to covid, I thought the trip advisor review was fine. I didnt want to agree to the non refundable reservation, but made the wrong decision. At least just one night. Big regret.
I first checked into a smoking 2 bed room it was very spacious and not to bad..i had to pay for a king room 2 days later and pay $60 more the woman at the front desk told me the king size rooms are alot bigger and much nicer. I walked into the room it was much smaller than the 2 bedroom. The bed was nicer but the air conditioning unit looks like its from the 70s and one side is broken. Only thing different in the king rooms you get a fridge and microwave but definitely not worth $60 more..im very disappointed in this motel and the front desk lady for lying to me.
I picked this place at random but was happy with this gem. It was a ling day in the car with a kid when we arrived .The clerk kindly said she would keep the pool open 30 minutes late so we could relax a bit and let our kid swim .She then moved our room so we were even closer to the pool to save time. The room was great and we enjoyed a nice night .Breakfast was normal hotel fare .My only complaint was that I found my pillow uncomfortable.
For a quick stay its not bad at all, I have to agree with some prior experience. For the area the rate is to expensive for a night, 163.75 for 6hrs sleep and 2hrs tv & eating. Room was clean, bathroom was clean, ac worked fine, staff was good checking in was a snap. 2star most definitely, Im from the bronx, so it was normal for what Ive seen.. IN THE BIG SCHEME OF THINGS, THEY HAVE TO PAY FOR GOOD HELP TO KEEP THOSE ROOMS SPOTLESS, SO 163.75 MIGHT NOT BE THAT BAD....πππΎ AGAIN I WILL RECOMMEND STAYING, PLACE AND ROOM WAS CLEAN!
I have stayed here for 34 nights straight from March 19-Apr22 and again from July 1-5 without Wyndham having any idea of what my rewards are-so far, no freebies. You tell me how my stay is, calling customer service is no help up to this point. Housekeeping is wonderful.
2- star rating for this hotel is really pushing it. I checked in for the weekend to find that I was placed in a smoking room that smelled terrible even though I asked for one that didnt smell and boy did it smell. Areas is terrible with really dangerous types that they put on my side of the hotel when I was just there for a business trip. On the second night the water was off so I wasnβt even able to shower until I got up on the third day and I was told it would be 30 minutes ended up being 8 hours without it. Only reason this review got 1 Star was because Krystal at the front desk was beautiful and clearly hates the job.
Not as clean as the hotel 6 we were in last night. I thought the bathroom was small there. This one is even smaller. The TV reception is not very good here. Picture is grainy. These beds seem hard also and half size pillows again. Is this the new norm for hotel pillows?
I suppose if you are homeless or strung out on drugs ( like the guy doing karate moves in the parking lot appeared to be ) Its better than sleeping in a cardboard box under an overpass. For me, I chose to go out and sleep in my car. If you arent a smoker when you check in, you are when you check out. Really,Really BAD!
This place was convenient for our weekend trip. Everything was fine until we saw a MOUSE in the room half way through our first night there. The woman working said to wait until Monday to speakwith Justina the manager. When I called she was completely inconsiderate of my feelings, she was disrespectful, never asked me for any of my information and hung up on me twice. She refused to give me a refund and refused to hear me out when I was trying to explain what happened! I will never visit any of these Inns ever again and will be posting on other social media outlets as well to inform others about how gross and dirty the room was. I am in disbelief by the awful customer service and disgusted by my visit.
Stayed 3 nights, first night ac worked fine. Next day, no ac, toilets clogged, handle broke off bathroom door (stuck inside bathroom) , had to switch rooms because room smelled moldy, everyone in my 2 rooms became sick with chest pains, fevers, coughing, sneezing, and throwing up. Checked out the 3rd night and went to a different hotel a bed bug found on a bag as we packed.
I really enjoyed my stay here. They allow pets with a one time fee. Continental breakfast in lobby, indoor pool and small fitness area. Very pleasantly situated. Its quiet. Acropolis Diner within walking distance and Popeyes Chicken right across the street. Very close to Vassar College. Had extra touches like hanging flower baskets on upper balconies. Very clean. Great hotel staff. Free WiFi.
This establishment has given up on the hospitality industry. Right from the front desk, the employees wear stained and torn uniforms. The rooms receive minimal maintenance. Furniture is broken, drawers wont stay closed. In years past, this location offered a choice of room types; King bed or two Queen beds. They have replaced the Queen beds with two Double beds, and it appears that at least some of the beds listed as King are indeed only Queen sized. The included continental breakfast is now barely stocked. I was woken up early by a call from the front desk, asking if the lights were back on in my room. I later discovered that this was due to a complaint from another guest in another room. According to that guest, the front desk clerk, instead of fixing the bathroom lights that were not on, placed a desk lamp in the middle of the bathroom floor for light. This is a location that is not worthy of being included in the Windham family.
Room seemed clean but upkeep and maintenance just wasnt there it looks like the cleaning people are trying their hardest however at times it seems like their efforts were in vain. A few tiles in the bathroom definitely had to be replaced and the overall vibe in the room is very dark
The room was nice and clean, the man working the front desk was very nice, the only issue was the heater wasnt working in the pool and it wasnt scheduled to get fixed until the next day, after I left, so I was a little disappointed, thats why it only got 4 stars, if the pool worked it wouldve been 5.
I stayed the last weekend of June. Leading up to the stay, the person that I booked my group through was very helpful, however I set up a credit authorization to cover everyones stay and at check-in my guests were requested to provide another credit card because the person at the desk couldnt locate the paperwork (meanwhile I confirmed we were all set that day). The rooms were fine, appeared clean, and the breakfast that we requested at a very early hour was better than the Poughkeepsie Grand in the center of town. They were friendly enough at the desk, though some of the staff seemed a bit out of sorts. My biggest issue was that my room had bed bugs which is why Ive given a low grading. In the past Ive worked in both hotels and hostels. When bed bugs are found, in all of my jobs, we jumped to action. called an exterminator, offered to comp the guests stay, offered to launder their clothes to prevent further infestation, etc. The desk agent denied having ever heard of a case (meanwhile yelp and a bedbug site had them listed). I requested they have an exterminator or engineer inspect the room and then follow up with me, which they did not do. I wrote an inquiry through their corporate site and never heard back. Meanwhile my luggage and belongings are still in garbage bags just in case. I dont like posting these sorts of reviews. My company has used this motel for years. Its unfortunate that they have complete disregard for the welfare of their guests.
Reserved a king...Received a dirty ill kept double! This place was so horrible we werent comfortable and had to seek other arrangements. This hotel took my points and my money even though they didnt have my room. Last I checked they are supposed to pay for me to stay in hotel of equal cost. I contacted Wyndham (who Ive stayed with many times without issue) and they politely directed me to Days Inn Customer Care. Although the gentleman was polite and professional, I still have yet to hear back from the hotel. I was told I would be contacted due to an investigation. Not what I was looking forward to after a 5 hour drive from Maryland to New York.If you like professionalism and a clean room...DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
I had an amazing time, not knowing the area very well, the staff and front desk were very informative. My daughter and I stayed all weekend and the breakfast was nothing to extreme but was great. Nice warm environment and next time I am in the area I will be staying there.
I stay this location when Im working in the area. I know what to expect no micro fridge so I use a cooler the staff is friendly and helpful . But last night will be the last time I stay there a giant fight broke out in the parking lot . Instead of kicking the parties out they let them stay and all night there was problems. Then I went to eat a crack head was picking in the food with her hands. The staff did nothing and said nothing Im done not going back
Where do I start I paid for a king size room on first floor they tried to give me a double room two flights up I said I couldnt due to health issues so I was given a room downstairs still not a king room walked in it and it smelt so badly of cigarettes we sprayed room and went to get something to eat when we came back we saw another family trying to enter our room we than found out our key card didnt work to this room anymore so we went to the desk and complained told them we couldnt stay in that room the way it smelled so dispite the health issues we took an upstairs room we realized we didnt have a remote than when we woke up in the morning our entire floor smelled of weed and to make my stay even better after watching my cousin die at the hospital that was close by I thought I would come back and try to calm down but I again was locked out of my room worst hotel stay ever I paid over $250 for two nights not worth $1 stay away !!
For years I have avoided economy places like the Days Inn. I always felt that know matter how good they were that they would suck.I was in town last night (12/5/17) for a Christmas dinner and needed a cheap place to crash. This Days Inn was different! I approached the lobby around 18:20. I was using the hotel tonight app but was having trouble signing in. Afi, the front desk manager, was as nice and cordial as they come. She worked it out for me so that I was able to use my AAA and get the same low rate that was on the app even though I could not sign in.The room was very clean. The bathroom, though tiny, was comfortable and did not creep me out. After dinner, around 22:30 or so, we returned to the hotel with an extra person. So now you have 3 grown men and two beds. I went to the desk to see if a cot were available. Afi, was still working. She left the front desk, walked halfway round the facility IN THE RAIN, to get a fold away bed and did not charge me.Everyone slept perfectly! As a business owner, I understand the mission to WOW people. Afi definitely provided that WOW experience here, but even though I havent met any one else, I know its a complete team effort.
The hotel images greatly exaggerated the quality and size of their business suite. I booked the hotel through Expedia and when I cancelled the hotel room a few hours later, leaving the room virtually untouched, the hotel lied and told Expedia I had checked out the next day in order to keep my payment.
Room. Requested and told we would have a King bed; the four table breakfast area was pitiful. The one partial working waffle iron was monopolize by one family; the staff was eating in the area; the selection was less than adequate for a property the size of this one; a family came to use the pool only to find it closed because of chlorine problems - the desk clerk laughed through the explanation; no control over food taken - I realized upon leaving the breakfast area why there was so little fruit - several guest had pockets packed with fruit. And finally, because there was no table to eat at, we sat in the lobby. Unfortunately, when I got up to get leave I found out that the chair I was sitting on was covered with maple syrup. There was a reason we stopped staying at these properties - the reasons above are why!
Its a motel, not a hotel. Its often used to house homeless in times of need. Can get rates alot cheaper going to a motel rather than a staying at a motel that presents itself and charges like hotel. Breakfast offering is weak. Room smelled moldy, the heater wouldnt shut off and ac did not work. Otherwise room was ok. Location is in a neighborhood, literally. Not a good 1 either. Area is know for drugs and car break ins.
We checked in to this hotel instantly realizing it was a mistake. If you are with your family avoid it at all cost. This is a Crack hotel. Users literally stood in front of our rooms door to make a deal. The a joining room basically a place to get high and I know this because they can be heard arguing about the drugs. Horrible experience.
Days Inn in Poughkeepsie has reasonable room rates as well as a indoor pool. The staff are very courteous and the rooms are very clean and away quaint. Not sure about room service because I didnt get anything. Located on the eastbound arterial (44/55) in Poughkeepsie and very conveniently near shopping and restaurants.
The room was neat and clean but upon check in I approached the cleaning staff to ask a question and the lady was very rude and wouldnt even acknowledge that I was speaking to her. She was Mexican so I can only assume she couldnt speak English but she could have tried to help instead of just completely ignoring me like I wasnt even there.
Great budget rooms, Yvonne and Mark are amazing they are super friendly and always there with a smile. They helped me out alot when I was visiting, they were able to recommend places to visit, eat and to finish my office work while I was out on a vacation. Very close to alot of great food options and shopping areas. Great view of the Hudson near by which is like a 5 min walk.
We came let at night hoping to get a room but they were booked solid despite what Expedia claimed. It was a touch unfortunate we couldnt get a room there as we had already failed st one hotel but the staff kindly let us use their phone and wifi to confirm a room at another hotel. Many thanks.
I stayed there for 2 nights after the snow storm cuz of power loss 1st the didnt have my reservation so it took 3 days to get a room then when I did get a room during the 2nd storm when the cable went down to 4 channels the evening front desk person said calling direct TV wasnt a priority cuz there was still channels 1 hour later we lost all channels I called the front desk and told him . He said ok Ill call a hour later tv was back on I think if he looked up from texting the 1st time and called he would of given a hotel full of people snowed into the hotel something to do .
On the plus side, it was clean, quite close to Vassar, and the staff was friendly. On the minus side, the furniture was needed to be replaced and the WiFi (even in a business room) was so erratic as to be unusable. Id stay there again, but will check out alternatives first.
Vinny Patel Is A Horrible Person ! My Boyfriend And I Reserved Our Room Ahead Of Time On The Booking Website , And He Denied Us For 3 Other Reservations That Are Coming From California. Mind You Only One Of Them Called , So This Guy Says He Cant Do Anything Because Everything Is Booked. Then At 1:55 a.m He Says That If Nobody Shows By 2:00 a.m Hed Gamble Us A Room WE DID NOT ASK FOR . . . . Its Now Almost 2:30 a.m And Were On Our Way To Another Place Which Is Extra Money Being Spent Because Of The Inconvenience
This is just an apartment complex rather then a hotel, Called room service to ask why our room smells like straight ash tray and she just said βidk it should be none smokingβ had a huge stain on the carpet (god knows what that is) I recommend tourist to rather sleep in their car instead of wasting your money on this βhotelβ like we unfortunately did
Got to the first room we found a roachπ¬πand there was a druggy by our door that my husband had to check...but we told night manager and she apologized and accommodated us accordingly and called police on the guy...otherwise it was a okay state and the price was good for a quick late night visit to N.Y...
Stayed a couple of days on a vacation to Poughkeepsie, Ideal location center around midtown and lots of resteraunts and diners, usual amenities but can accommodate for smokers with smoking king size rooms and thats a HUGE plus for me, has a free breakfast and pool lounge inside the main building and great customer service, would totally recommend for a nice affordable week on vacation with absoulute privacy and no noise from traffic or neighbors, made a new friend named george the caterpillar who came in from the open window in the bathroom and he stayed with us for a few days, lovely conversationalist and quite content with his section of wall π

2022-03-24Very clean and tidy. The bathroom is a bit too small but since it was clean it really didnt bother me as much. Other than that my hubby and I had relaxing night away from the kids π

2021-07-11I liked this little spot. The room was a bit dated furniture scuffed a bit but in my book the cleanliness is whats important so that being said I found nothing as far as that the room was very clean the bathroom was a little small but doable the only thing I can complain about is not enough lighting an no lighting in closet other then that I will always stay at this spot when ever Im in town

2022-04-21Very nice other than the fact I was quoted another price. Much more money than where I am currently staying

2020-10-20The rooms are clean and the surrounding area, like parking lots and common areas are also clean and make you feel safe as a person can feel in this time.most of the staff is usually very accommodating in friendly but my last visit, some of the staff really made me feel like I was an inconvenience and I was forcing them to work. I didnt like that. But to be honest on the whole its a good place to rest your head at

2022-03-20I will have to say that theyve stepped their game up A LOT... Theyre also 1 of the last few hotels that still has smoking rooms in this area. Now, those rooms are NOT the best. But I would/will bite the bullet and stay there if having a smoking room is a MUST. π€¦πΎββοΈπ€·πΎββοΈ

2019-09-30Definitely needs updating. Also needs mold abatement...was very musty smelling. Pool was nice. Very disappointed in the front desk because they said I had to leave the credit card registered at the front desk even though I was paying cash at checkout. When I went to check out the next morning they had already charged my credit card and told me that if they corrected the charge it would take at least three weeks for my credit card to get reimbursed. This was really annoying since I spoke to the front desk on check in to make sure that they would not put the charges on my credit card. It was also a bit pricey for the neighborhood and for the condition of the motel. It was $175 plus tax for the night in a not so nice part of Poughkeepsie. Extremely disappointed in this place. Would never stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

2019-10-16Not my first choice. Being from out of town we were looking for a reasonable room rate for one night. This place fit the bill. On the upside, the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Close to downtown and Vasser. On the down, the room smelled awful, even after leaving the windows open. Second floor, no elevator and all rooms have outside doors. Breakfast was out of most items with no refill at 8am. This place is okay for one night but nothing more. I will pay a bit more to find a better place next time.

2018-01-29Our stay here for one night was excellent! We got a very good deal online for the room and when we arrived the staff upgraded our room for free just because they were not fully booked. The indoor pool was heated and very relaxing. The continental breakfast had make your own waffles and was fairly adequate. We plan on returning when we are back in the area sometime later in the year. Staff was also extremely friendly and accommodating!

2019-10-27Really expensive. And nothing special for the extra money. The staff did not seem happy to be there at all. 177 bucks for two double beds, a TV, a microwave, and a mini fridge. Same stuff I got on the rest of my trip at better hotels for half the price. The location is great if you have business in Poughkeepsie. I was there for a wedding and it was a perfect location for us.
