Del Fuego in other cities:
Nice Tex-Mex place! They have lunch specials and other deals, so keep an eye out for them. The pork tacos are surprisingly sweet, which I did not expect. The chicken tacos are a bit more savory, though not as spicy as I hoped. Their burritos are filling, and they do offer burrito bowls as well. For dessert, they have churros with ice cream- their Mexican hot chocolate ice cream was great! It was rich and creamy, and a perfect compliment to the churros.Small nitpick: we once ordered a burrito with no onions, but received onions (it was a delivery order), so keep an eye out
Knows its market and serves it, happy hour and lunch, plus the theme of the day, taco Tuesday so onFun kid friendly and the adults can hang by the bar and drink great booze, and the flights, oh wow the flights great choose sold by people who know they stuff stuffMy son also likes it
First time here . Front door greeter was good . but Food lacked flavor ordered the beef soft flour Tacos. Ordered avocados twice never received it . The drinks were horrible lacked presentation and description. The waiter we had was a teenage boy which lacked experience of how to wait a table did not ask how our food was just not what I expected for a four point restaurant . Will not be coming here again .
Very good. Feel like Ive been to this restaurant before, just at a different location but I dont know. Either way, it was good. Got me the 3 mushroom quesadilla and the family got a variety of items. Plus an appetizer. It was all good. I would recommend it and I would definitely go back for another visit. Outdoor seating available too.
Really nice experience. The food was espectacular... we enjoyed the nachos as appetizer , and our entrees were delicious. We ordered the carne asada and chicken & steak fajitas... really good! The cocktails are awesome, we had the conquistador and the classic margarita ;) ... but the best was our waitress Meghan... very nice very sweet, she made us feel very welcomed!
Ordered take out from here for me and my 2 children. When the food arrived everything was cold. Not warm, cold. The hard taco shells were soft and soggy. Im shocked at the fact that they let this order out the door the way it was, but I guess theyre not hurting for business.
Great experience here! I brought my dog and the waitstaff sat us outside and brought him carrots, chicken, and rice (!!!) everyone is incredibly friendly. Ive been here numerous times both to their location across their street and the new location. Both were and are amazing. Their food portions are generous, fair priced, and delicious. They make my favorite sangria and margaritas.Fun and upbeat atmosphere in the evening, and a great place to visit with laid back friends during the day.
Very VERY good Mexican food... maybe some of the best Ive had outside of Mexico. The host was very friendly and gave me a choice of where I wanted to sit, which I thought was very nice. The bus or brought over water and the biggest basket of tortilla chips Ive ever seen.I started with the Del Fuego salad which was a combination of greens, avocado, pear and a delicious citrus dressing - perfection. I then moved onto the chicken fajitas. There was just the right amount of shredded lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, chicken, peppers and flour tortillas. The only thing that wouldve made this a five-star experience wouldve been The waitress although super nice - had too many tables. She waited on other people who sat down after I did and I wondered if it was because I was dining alone. When my chicken fajitas finally came out the chicken, peppers beans and rice were warm... But it was clear that they had been sitting around awhile. Also its an authentic Mexican restaurant lets complete the experience with some Mexican music and not R. Kelly. All very minor critiques. I hundred% will come back when Im in area!i
Food was good and came out quick but the service was not good. Our server Matt was not attentive and barely came and checked on us. We waited a while to pay and eventually had to get someone else to pay our check. On top of that, the restaurant is clearly not following COVID-19 laws and we were sat way too close to another table. I rarely complain and have worked as a server for many years, but the service at this place needs to be improved.
Food is good, atmosphere is good, but the service is really not so great, they take too long to maintain your water refills and the little things like bringing silverware or condiments, straws..I know they are little things, but they detract from the dining experience.
Awesome Tacos and Attentive Service!Very well run, pleasantly impressed!Food was delicious, levels above mediocre fare expected and served at most restaurants. Shrimp cooked yummy, steak was tender and juicy, the ground beef was perfectly seasoned!Only one waiter for the whole restaurant on a buzzing Thursday night yet we were being serviced by 3 people and checked upon constantly! Huge Compliments to the team!First beer was flat, they quickly changed it for a crisp fresh glass and it was amazing with my Tacos!Great experience, excited to be back!
Have been here a few times and never disappoints. Awesome food, good selection of beers, and fantastic homemade margaritas. I definitely recommend the quesadillas - so many different choices you really cannot go wrong. Jenn our server was amazing and knew everything on the menu!
Staff is super friendly. Place is clean with fun atmosphere. Unfortunately the food was not enjoyable. We ordered a burrito and enchiladas and both were extremely SWEET dishes, could not eat half the enchiladas. We love Mexican and are not super picky but the flavors were off for us.
Delicious food, daily specials, happy hour, and full bar with craft beers. I love the wings and on Wednesdays they are half priced! They must grill the wings first because they have that greatest flavor and then they have several different sauces you can chat them in.
I had lunch here yesterday with my fabulous friend HELENE. We had the taco lunch special. The tacos were huge and delicious. And the chips they serve are amazing. The staff was super friendly and extremely professional. I can’t wait to go back. I highly recommend this gem!
I ate at this Del Fuego location for the first time after driving my Dad back home from the eye doctors. We were the very first customers of the day around 11:45AM and got to choose our seating. We chose a comfortable booth in the center of the restaurant and ordered from the lunch special menu. We both got burritos and a drink for $10 which is a pretty good deal! We also ordered the fried avocados which were much more pricey at $8, however still delicious. The appetizer chips were very light and perfectly salted. My shredded chicken burrito was very good, and the fried avocados were also very good but more on the oily side as expected. I would definitely want to come back to try out their huge drink menu with my friends, their happy hour deals were appealing! Overall, I plan on coming back soon to try their drinks and other food items on the menu.
I come here all the time! Its a great place! I have never found a restaurant that sells better buffalo wings than this place! They are so good and savory that it is hard for me to describe them in words. Also, i greatly appreciate the fact that their salsa is very spicy! Still, it is a tiny place and I would recommend coming before prime time(when it gets extremely crowded)
So the place was packed on a Friday night - not a big surprise, but there was no space at the bar either. Left our name & said it would be about a 45 minute wait. Headed back to heated car to chat & relax. But within 12 minutes we were called to tell us our table was ready. Woo-hoo🎉 sat down in a cozy spot & was hugely surprised by their mocktail drink menu. WOW! Ordered a Blood Orange Fizz & was NOT disappointed! It was fabulous! Ordered our meal & it arrived within a few minutes, again, WOW! Delicious food, tortilla chips & drinks. Will definitely head back again.
Margaritas were perfect! If you are planning on having more than a couple, order a pitcher instead. Food is amazing! Service is top notch. We arrived on a Saturday around 6:30 and had about a 30 minute wait, so we went to bar and they texted us when table was ready. We are definately going back. 👍👍
Ive been to this place about five times and the food was good. The staff is nice , for the exception of the head bartender...he.hasnt a clue on how to take care of you. Hes too busy talking and just rude.15 minutes for a pint? Ive been to enough bars know he rates as a 0. Real tuff guy attitude, that is way out of line He is consistent, Ill give him that, so be warned. I left last with night after one pint with my best friend and went to another local place down the road, which was much better.
Del Fuego is a great Tex-Mex restaurant in St. James. It recently moved to new premises (across the road from the old location) which are bigger - which is good, as it was busy and bustling on the Thursday night we ate there. Almost every night they have some special offer (e.g., Taco Tuesday, Margarita Monday).Food is great, as well as being pretty cheap, and the free tortilla chip/dip combo is a really great touch (with the dip being really excellent). The burger I had was really one of the best Ive had in the USA. They also have a reasonable collection of hot sauces, from the slightly hot to the very hot.
Warm atmosphere, nice decorating. Bar is beautiful. Food was poor. Bad Tex-Mex. They need a lesson from the west. Drinks are good I hear, my Margarita was good but served in a small glass, which was not worth it. The larger specialty Margaritas were $2 more, but you got a full drink. Dark meat shredded chicken is just not my thing, and it was dry as can be. Wings were good. Salsa served complimentary was actually very delicious. I would give it one more try but I will order Fajitas next time.
Regular customer, ate at new location for 1st time this week. More seating , larger bar. Looks good . Food service was very slow, over30 min. Staff is new, not up to old standards. Food was warm not hot. They had a few returns from tables around us. I hope the continue to provide quality food and service and not just become a Mex Bar! I am sure they will get the glitches out.
So I have been going to Del Fuego since they first opened about 10 years ago, I’ve eaten at they’re Babylon location as well. Last night I got a pretty easy order and I have to say .... the food was terrible, I was honestly sorry I didn’t go to Taco Bell. I get it that everyone is trying to get through the covid19 shut down but really tacos and nachos are pretty good profit and they were really busy ..... I won’t be back any time soon and may finally try Margaritas in Smithtown instead
Very good food pricing a little high but that is what your are going to get in the St James area. The client base is the Nissequoque and Head of he Harbor as well as the St. James area. All in all the food is very good. I do frequent there when my budget allows. Staff is very courteous and the decor is nice as well., They are moving across the street to larger facilities which the expansion will allow short seating times. They are in demand that is true. Enjoy
Delicious food and great atmosphere. Any drink or food I’ve had here have been excellent. My husband and I also order in from here often and we have no complaints. I wish there was an option for outdoor seating it the inside is cute and we love getting out for a date night here.
Great quality food. One of my go to spots for lunch. The space is a little smaller than the Patchogue location, but it doesnt detract from the experience. The specials are cheap but high quality and their expansive choices of tequilas are enough to keep you coming back.
Top restaurant in Saint James. The food is sooooo good. I really like the brisket. Since they moved to the new location they have so much more room and the bar is a cool place to hang out in. Good selection or craft beer including an exclusive from PJ Brewing. You can go there and eat pretty cheap but sill leave full or you can spend a little extra and get something that will rock your socks! Either way, you will leave happy!
Ah-mazing!!! When I come here I get the grilled veggie burrito with chili spiced fries...you have to ASK for fries though, or else you just get a pile of sh-tty arugula. Come on lets be real, nobody wants that. Theres a nice range of hot sauces at every table so you can bring up the heat of your dish if you choose to. The drinks are bomb and always strong! Try the blood orange margarita! I have the strawberry one and thats good too but I personally prefer the orange because its not as sweet. We always get this guy Andrew waiting on us when we go, like the last 3 times weve gotten him. Hes an awesome server...very attentive and a nice guy too! Only negative was I got fried avocado as an appetizer once, and the pieces are WAY too big. Cut them smaller!
Got a ground beef burrito and it was lacking in the ground beef dept. Tasty enough but just too much rice and beans and no beef. Its been better when I dined in. Thinking they chince on take out since you cant complain and send back your order. I would still go back but not for the burritos. The fajitas I had previously were so much better when I dined in.
This place serves up some great food and drink in an intriguing atmosphere. The ambiance transported me out of the strip-mally sensation Ive always gotten and disliked in Long Island. Every dish we tried was great, the house salsa was better than any of the hot sauces stacked around the tables. Im knocking off one star due to slightly excessive prices.
Nice, fun atmosphere and good drinks; but the food was really a disappointment, even for just a neighborhood joint. Meats and sauces were unseasoned and under salted, and the beans were bland and metallic tasting. The prices were way too high for such cheap-tasting food.
We liked Del Fuego... if for nothing more than access to a nice taco bar with a bottle of Casa Noble reposado. Our bartender was a little out of his depth and the food, though decent, was nothing to scream about. We will make this a go-to in the area as there are virtually no legit Mexican places nearby.
By far, the best food Ive eaten in a long time. We went for dinner on a Saturday night, I had a classic burrito and my boyfriend had the chicken bacon chipolte-ranch quesadilla. Everything was so delicious! Even the sangria was amazing and I dont even like wine! I will definitely come back and I havent been able to stop telling people about it!
They have amazing service and everyone was very friendly and nice if you come here you should get one of the many tacos or the mango or buffalo wings after you finish your main course you can choose from there wide variety of desserts. This place is truly one of my favorite restaurantsLoveMemer man
This is my go to place all the time can get crowded but the again its awesome.... so would you expect any less pretty much anything you get is awesome never had a bad meal! 2$ tacos before 4 pm everyday such an awesome deal unless you think huge delicious tacos for cheap is a bad deal. The server chris is the bomb and very attentive.
We ate at the bar. Waited about 20 minutes for a spot at the bar to open up but the atmosphere was good. When we sat at the bar we waited 10 mins and i had to ask the bartender to clear the prior customers drinks, plates, etc. and then asked her to wipe the counter. when i did sje got a little annoyed can you imagine? Im the customer wanting a clean place to eat and she was annoyed at me . i ordered the snapper. for $20 it was cold, dry and hard as if it was under a heat lamp for a long time. overall a poor experience.
My husband, son and I went to the new St. James location for dinner this evening, and I was completely disappointed. The decor is great, but the food was below par. We had eaten at the old location accross the street about a year or so ago and loved it. The food, the vibe, and the service was awesome. I felt as if the new location was a completely different place. Our server never went over the specials and my meal in particular was bad. I ordered the Yucatan chicken enchiladas. They were swimming in what I thought was a green verde sauce, but tasted like strong white vinegar, and they also werent hot enough inside. My husbands lobster quesadilla could have had more flavor (ie:cilantro). I was also confused with their so called Saturday Sangria night. You would think that would mean a deal on sangrias by the glass or pitcher. It amounted to $5 off a pitcher that originally costs $39. Very over priced, and still $10 for a single glass. Ill stick with my local authentic neighborhood Mexican joint, thanks.
My Family has been going here since they opened, we usually take out sometimes once a week. It was always great chicken quesadilla was awesome, recommended place to my friends and coworkers who also loved it. We all agree over the past year it has been a steady decline, the food is no as good they charge extra for sour cream when they dont give you enough to finish the quesadilla. My wife and I had no children last night and decided to dine in at the new location across 25a from the old little place. Upon arrival the hostess said she had a high top in the bar and a table in the dinning room. We chose the table not knowing it was in the narrow pathway that every time some one went by they would bump the table, my wife was getting annoyed so I asked if we could switch to the four top in the corner the kind waitress said should not be a problem but needed to check with the hostess. I was surprised when she returned and said no, they are seating someone there now, so we grin and bear it. After 10 minutes no one was seated there. So now I was angry that the lied to us, I got up and told the waitress that wasnt right she just didnt want to loose the four top to two people, she replied thats what she was told to tell us. So we got up and went next door to Spuntinos and had a nice meal. That was the last straw for Del Fuego.
Cinco De Mayo! It was raining- the place was off the hook busy and filled - the guy at the door was turning people away - telling everyone it was an Hour wait- I showed up for an UberEats delivery- I have done a few at this location - .I have not eaten here- but I give the staff a good review- because they are professional- Even though it was Crazy Busy- the Kitchen was working overtime that Sunday. I was doing a Pickup for staff at St Charles hospital - I I arrived on time- they were right on time - No real wait- They are consis tent- never have any items missing when I double check orders . Make it easy to complete Delivery - No reservations are usually necssary
Dont go here!! he owner was rude an obnoxious. Stopped in to have few drinks and something to eat with 1 cop and 3 Military guy just off tour from over seas.Last I thought we were in america and people respected the Military and the service of our police. This place made it a point to not only not let us in because we pulled up on bikes, but make a seen to not let us in and say he wasnt serving us. Truly, this what we have become. If you respect our Military and our Police you will not patron this place.
UNBELIEVABLY RUDE MANAGER. Doesn’t care about anyone but the dollar he makes that day. Poor excuse of a manager and I hope one day he figures out how to be a better person and not just a liar. I am sure many will figure out there are other restaurants out there that are better. I was there Friday at 7pm. You know who I am.
Its okay at best. Wait staff is rather imature, theyll eventually get to helping customers after exchanging memes on social media and gossiping about whos had oral and anal sex with there friends, they do this within ear shot of customers so bring ear muffs for the children, and bring your single friends, Im sure theyre gonna want some of that. The staff will give you just enough attention for you to stay, unless one of there friends or ex-coworkers walks in... Thats when they forget theyre even at work. The only remarkable thing about this place is the selection of hot sauce on the table, theyve sacrificed a good square foot of table space for a bucket of hot sauce. Restaurant/Bar dining is about the experience, this quality food can be found at any box or chain restaurant, but rarely can you find this sort of entertainment, Ive never heard so much detail about a first hand experience with a Rusty Trombone untill then.
Honestly think that I was served dog food. I went this afternoon with my wife, and we both agreed out meat was not right. Tacobell by far has better quality food than this mexi joint. The Mangos were the only thing I could brag about but who knows they probably were fake. Sorry for the horrible review just being honest.... look out you may get sick from the undercooked raw meats.
HORRIBLE! Ordered a traditional Margarita - the worst Margarita I have ever had. The tacos were awful. The Stuffed jalapeno and the Shrimp & Chorizo Flautas were moderately eatable. Will never go back, or recommend to anyone.Im very surprised that they have 3 locations
Saturday lunch with my wife - arrived and told 15 min wait. Took my cell number - got an instant message to say i was wait listed with a link to site telling me i was number one on list. So far so good - walked around strip mall came back to wait outside. Noticed people going in not coming out - went to check and noticed at least 2 sets of couples had been sat down for food. Given some lame excuse about the person was not at the desk when they came in and some one else seated them. This is when i could clearly see my name on the ipad at the reception desk. Told them to forget it !! Children running the place what do you expect. Not going back

2022-04-20Super crowded on a Monday (1/2 price house margaritas) but we got a hightop for 2 quickly, guacamole came out very fast (freshly made?) as did our taco trios. Good spicy salsa with the complementary chips. They were out of the bourbon and lime hot sauce :-( but friendly service over-all. A bustling scene is not the best for conversation. $75 included tip

2022-05-13Margarita’s are always fantastic and delicious. Do the spicy marg on the rocks with salt. Wing Wednesday is great and they have 1/2 off wings and they were cooked perfectly.

2022-06-01I really like all of their food, last night we had the 3 taco special and they were great, the salsa and chips, their Guac. was on point. Not super crazy about their service though...a little off...but overall I recommend the experience.

2022-05-14We have given Del Fuego of St James many chances to get it right in take out. Each time it get la worse and worse. The latest they forgot all the sauces they make and we look forward to having with their meals. It’s not the same , as if it was years ago.Chips .. no salsa. Quesadilla no sauces we requested. Used ones from home..it might be the last time, sorry to say .

2022-05-11It was our first time here and we’ve heard such great things about del fuego in patchogue so we decided to try the st. James location since it was closer. I ordered the chicken enchiladas Yucatán style. The chicken was flavorless , the enchilada sauce tasted like it came out of a can and the cheese was not melted on top. The enchilada tasted as if it was microwaved with sauce thrown on top . The only filling inside was more beans then chicken. My family member ordered the carne asada quesadilla and the steak had no flavoring at all . The onions inside were not cooked . The food has no flavor and it’s overpriced . The low quality of ingredients is also very present in the taste . Better off going to chilis for cheaper and more flavor. Don’t waste your money on a $20 enchilada.

2018-03-05Seems like most of the low ratings have to do with bar service, which I cant tell you about. Have had drinks at the table many times and always been good. Drinks aside, we love this place for food and atmosphere!!Cant get enough of the light and crispy tortilla chips with a thick, slightly sweet salsa that has a mild but present heat. I am addicted to the fish tacos, which are some of the most flavorful Ive had anywhere. They are a great mix of sweet and savory with grilled (not fried) fish; get em on soft tortillas. We often have them with a side of sweet plantains and a margarita.Ill leave the bar reviews to the others.

2020-08-02My kids favorite tacos. Margerita’s hit the spot. Try the salads. Wont be disappointed. I tried an incredible fish dish. Have to go back for it again!! Believe it or not my absolute favorite is the Del Fuego burger! Avocados and bacon. What’s not to love. Their fries are just as good as their nacho chips. We have yet to have room for dessert!

2018-10-13Legit Tex-Mex food with lots of seating, a large bar and outdoor seating. Staff was good, prices were reasonable, portions are large and there are daily food, lunch special along HH drink specials. Ordered the steak fajita special (Sunday only) and it was really good.
