I freaking love Delhi Masala! The restaurant atmosphere is warm and even romantic. Tables are always available. They have amazing food from curries to birianis to kebabs and all. And they have great catering staff as well. One of the waiters there, she’s so kind and so amazing, she deserves everything. This place deserves more hype. Take a chance and visit this place you won’t be disappointed!
Quiet side street Indian restaurant. The lunch special is a good deal. I had the lamb curry. The lamb was well cooked and the naan was terrific. Rates four star because of the daal. It was too watery, too few lentils, and just gross. It’s given out free with the lunch special but I still recommend leaving it untouched.
Large portions, deep flavors and great service. Very affordable especially for the amount of food. The vindaloo has a very reasonable amount of heat to it so if you like something with a kick but not too overwhelming, give it a shot! The garlic naan could be better - often a little burnt or hard and very conservative on the garlic
The most amazing Indian food in Manhattan. Forget little India and go to Harlem for this delicious encounter. My husband and I love the intimate space, the cozy factor of the ambiance, the outstanding service, scrumptious meals, and great pricing! So much to love about this amazing restaurant. We discovered it about 3 weeks ago and have already become regulars; the staff knows our faces and our order! Not a single complaint or shortcoming at this place. Absolutely amazing work all around. If anyone leaves less than 5 stars they are delirious. Not to mention the same meal (of lesser quality) downtown is at least double (if not triple) the price.Dishes not to miss:-chicken tikka salad (the mango mayo dressing is TO DIE FOR and there’s actually a good serving of chicken in there!)-chicken korma (perfect balance of sweet and savory)-gulab jamun (most amazing soft sweet warm fluffy balls)
Great food in a tasteful setting. My wife and I had dinner and enjoyed butter chicken, vegetable samosas, among the best papadam I have ever had, tandoori mushroom, nan, and aloo paratha. All were very tasty. We wanted to try more but were full. Portions were ample and reasonably priced. The menu was extensive and had a large number of vegetarian options. Service was very attentive.
Basic at best. I spent $18.00 and was excited to try their gobi mater, hands down not worth a penny. Terrible sauce which lack the traditional flavors Ive come to expect from this dish when eating at other places. Service was slow, and prioritized around people they knew. I watched three people come in after me and left before. I usually try not to write a bad reviews because it may impact profits, but this needed be mention.
Got the lamb saag for lunch special (10.95 +tax). pretty good, the lamb is cooked well and you get a filling portion so the price is about right. thinking next time i should ask for it to be spicy, that’s the only thing i’m missing :( the price makes it so i can’t frequent but maybe every few weeks i see myself stopping by for lunch.
Just plain rude! I entered on Friday evening at 9pm and first was told that the kitchen was closed and that they were only taking take-out orders, although there were people eating at various tables. When I asked to order take-out the lady behind the counter said I could only order from seamless, even though I was just standing right in front of her. When I pointed out the irony of that, I was told: do as you please but we are not serving any more food. I would have loved to find a new food option in the neighborhood but Delhi Masala is certainly not going to be it.
I definitely encourage everyone in the neighborhood to try Delhi Masala if they are not accustomed to Indian cuisine. Me and my girlfriend went there Saturday late lunch and we really enjoyed our first experience there. My favorite Indian dish is saag paneer just because I cant compare it to anything else veggie so I ordered it and it didnt disappoint. At first I thought it looked dry but its just really balanced when you eat it with garlic naan. My favorite plate however was the Chicken Vindaloo because it has the perfect amount of hot. The chicken was extremely tender and the sauce was spot on from the color to the thickness. I am very excited this is right around the corner from 125
The idea that you spend almost $15 for a combo and you get no salad or bread, but in the bag it include the dressing for the salad as well as a sauce for the bread. Over priced without delivering the full experience. But the woman who took my order was amazing. She should be the manager of the restaurant. I don’t know your name but your amazing the gentleman who answered the phone needs to be released of his duty.
When my sister told me about this place I just had to try their food. The restaurant seems small but nice and clean. Great for couples looking for a date night. I couldnt decide what i wanted on the menu everything sounded good. I ended up ordering samosa which was really good. I recommend people trying out this place if you are in harlem. I will be doing more reviews soon so follow my YouTube iam ks9788
I wanted a specific vegetarian dish that wasnt listed on the menu (Saag Aloo) but the man said they can make it for me, no extra charge. I ordered to go; when I got home I wasnt disappointed. The portion was large enough to share or save some for later. It was perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious. I will definitely return 😊
Food is garbage. Im having acidity right now. tandoori mushrooms were super watery and flavorless. In lemon rice there was not a single hint of lemon and not a single peanut described in the menu. Kadai Paneer had big chunks of onion half cooked and chewy also found couple of onion skins while eating and super super oily that I would be able to cook meal four times. It was that much oil. And do not even think of getting samosas. And on top of that I wasted $36 on this garbage.
My wife and I stopped off at Delhi Masala for the first time one Sunday afternoon for an early dinner. I go the Butter Chicken and my wife got some kind of vegetable rice dish. We were extremely pleased with both of our meals. My Butter Chicken was the perfect combination of savory and spicey. The service was great - attentive but not overbearing. The atmosphere was quite nice as well. And, they had Taj Mahal beer - what more could you ask for in an indian restaurant. We use to head down from Harlem to a place on Greenwhich Street to get our indian fix. After discovering Delhi Masala we now only have to walk a few blocks. Very happy about that.
This place is highly rated on grub hub, my experience was not great . Order took an hour and a half to arrive and was incomplete missing three items. the food quality was just okay. But the real issue was the length of time and delivery to complete order, the lack of any napkins or silverware , and the missing food items. I wont be ordering from here again. Oh, and definitely NOT cheap!
Delhi Masala has a few unique dishes on the menu that arent very common such as Murg Madras and Kerala Pepper Chicken. Prices and portions are standard for Indian food in NYC. If you get a chance to dine in, the venue has charming copper ceiling tiles and exposed brick.
Delhi masala is trash when delivering food. They do not check orders i was missing food items. I was missing my two naans. I called and told them to deliver it to me and they were like no i will not deliver it to you for me to contact uber eats for a refund. Wth am i supposed to eat with my chicken. Never ordering from here again. They are so rude they simply don’t care as long as other customers are coming to pay. Man my family won’t be coming here anymore either. Hate this place.
Its an so called Indian restaurant run by Bangladeshi personals who hardly know anything about Indian food or cuisineDont even have basic Indian staple food like chapati and also trying to fool me by serving me lamb instead of goat and on reporting the waiter is saying that it is goat meatHeights of Shamelessness

2022-04-14Ordered delivery, and had to call twice to ask about my food. Food finally arrived 45 minutes after the online estimate, and 1.5 hours after ordering! Over an hour to deliver 0.8 miles on a weeknight. Unbelievable. It’d been faster if I just walked up and back. The food was also unimpressive, oily & watery vindaloo. Never ordering from them again.

2021-02-27This is a customer first restaurant. The host was the nicest person, and the food was amazing. Their garlic naan is so delicious, and I paired that with the tandoori prawn masala. OH MY GOODNESS. It was mouth watering.

2022-06-15Was craving Indian food and this was absolutely perfect. Most people order take out from here, but dining in is also fine (and the people were nice). Id recommend the Saag Paneer.

2017-08-27Took my dad out to celebrate his 70th Birthday this past Friday, August 25. He had a good time, the people knew him because he comes often, they were pleasant and the food was good. I was actually surprised at how good the food was especially since Ive never been or had eaten Indian food in my life. Gotta explore other cultural food more I see. Food was tastefully spicy, not expensive and the wine and water was chilled to taste. A Must Come Back To. Enjoy the photos of my dad, myself and sister. I have even enclosed the menu.

2021-12-25As a vegan I enjoy healthy and savory foods, however my order of Okra was so oily in a tomato sauce and my order of Gobi with spinach sauce tasted good but was just as oily. And the rice was plain with nothing in it to enhance tha flavor.I was very disappointed and will not return or recommend.Good night

2019-01-25I saw this place a few months ago, and finally decided to give it a try today. It was worth it to me. The food was delicious, and the waitress made sure to let the chef in the back know my friend and I like our food spicy. The lunch combo was totally worth the price. The waitress was really friendly and took great care of us. I will definitely go back.

2020-02-23Only got delivery, but it was good. Especially the vegetarian options. The methi matar malai is a standout. The veg tika Masala was a little too sweet and watery.

2017-03-22Dark small cell in the heart of Harlem with options of buffet and menus order. Indian food. Food is ok, eatable but tasteless and pathetic, buffet ($9.99) for lunch offering only chicken cooked different ways. If dish is over never would fill again, so, dont go to late or your options will be limited.

2017-07-30Very good food and service! Ive tried several indian/desi restaurants in the past and I can whole heartedly say this is among one of my favorites. Cozy atmosphere and very good prices. Definitely try their lunch special, hopefully they add more options to it soon.
