I love the idea that the new owners have put so many improvements in WHILE STILL retaining the original character of the place. Theyve honored the family by retaining the name and have the best gourmet sandwiches anywhere. I particularly recommend the flagship sandwich called the Heinle. Well done! Happy to see the reincarnation after so many years of nothing. I dare say that Doug would be pleased...

Outstanding lunch - we shared the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and were very impressed with food and friendly, helpful staff! Way to knock it out the park Heinles General Store a must stop.

They have the best food ever, its always fresh, its pricey but you get what you pay for. Their salads are out of this world. I cant say anything but good... Oh and if you like ice coffee gotta try theirs.

I stopped by to gas up my car and went inside the store to get a snack…..lo and behold they had a Cuban sandwich on the menu. So I tried it, needless to say it was delicious. Customer service was great and the staff was very attentive. Stop by the store, you will not be disappointed.

This is no General Store. It used to be. It is now some kind of take out/it in fast food restaurant. I seen it before and after, unfortunately. Destroyed the historic interior. Terrible. When I went to express an opinion on Facebook the entire family attacked me.

They destroyed this! I cannot believe the town of Cochecton Center allowed this! I was devastated. They retained nothing but the ceiling! I dont think they deserve one positive review on facebook etc. What a shame! Places like this have all but disappeared. I cannot support this establishment because of this.

Heinles General Store feels like an upscale convenient store and small restaurant. Gas prices are really good compared to competitors.

$13 for sandwiches. Limited menu. Only open until 3pm. Not worth it.
