We have dined at Deninos quite a few times over the years and have come to expect a certain level of quality. This past visit I suppose we can chalk it up to an off night on the food front. However, in regards to service, we were very disappointed as we felt rushed from the moment we sat down. Within minutes of the appetizers arriving, we were already being asked if we were done working on that as it was more than evident from us actually still chewing, there being more than half the portion remaining, and the food being on the table for mere minutes that we were not. The same level of rushed service persisted once the pizza arrived. Definitely going to take some time off before heading back, if we head back.
Love the outside seating and being in a place with happy customers all anxiously watching for food ordered by other customers. The smell from the kitchen was awesome. Waitresses were terrific and kind despite being busy. The food was great and plenty to bring home for a late night snack. Cant find another to go again. Native Staten Islander who lives in Manhattan who traveled to Denino’s for pizza fix.
Classic old school thin crust brick oven pizza. Exactly what you are looking for in a real New York slice. Pizzas come in a pie that is good for two people. If youre not from Staten Island, I recommend getting a pie to go and putting it in your freezer, youre gonna want more of this pizza.
4/16/2022 First time ordering was the worst. I ordered a large pie sausage with extra cheese crunchy and 2 liter Pepsi, pie looked like a medium. My order came with 7 slices instead of 8 and and soggy not crunchy a 1 liter Pepsi when I said multiple times 2 liter Pepsi. When I called to fine out how much longer after 40 minutes the girl that answer the phone was very rude also was charged $26.56 plus $5 tip. Taste was good but Ill never order from here again. Ill be making a TikTok video about this.
THE BEST PIZZA ON GODS GREEN EARTH. I cant describe it any better then that. The Buffalo calamari is an absolute MUST TRY. The crust is something of magic. They dont use water is unicorn tears. They finally started accepting credit cards as well. There is a reason they have been around for 70+ years and you will know why once you eat there.
We orderd caesar salad, buffalo wings and pizza..thin crust pizza was simple but flavorful. Its soooooo good!Everything is fresh. Salad is fresh and yummy. Buffalo wings are crispy and juicy. Such a fresh wings! I had buffalo wings at popular restaurant in Buffalo:() Deninos buffalo wings are much better! Im sure I will visit again.
Heard so much about this pizzeria. Finally got a chance to try it. Ordered cheese pie for pick up. Got home, opened the box, and got DISAPPOINTED. Pizza crust was burnt. Can’t help but think how an establishment which is supposedly known for pizza will serve something like that to a customer.edit: i know the differnce between thin crust and burnt crust, forget about the crust it even tasted burnt :(
Deninios never fails, great pizza cold beer and the most friendliest of service. I feel like can always count on them for a great pie and a great experience. I think the pricing is from 8 to 10 years ago what a great value for this charming iconic Staten Island establishment
Unlike several recent reviews, the service was better than average, these waitresses are doing great. I have a serious problem with “one of the 2 best pizza places of staten island”. I was really expecting a lot better that average to well below average ingredients put on so so pizza dough. In the end, its a below average pizza. NYC have a lot more to offer and Deninos’s you disappointed us. Step it up (with ingredient and qualities)
Placed an order for cheese pie with sausage food cost $18 however the Order with delivery over $27and paid by cc Delivered by Michael who was friendly and told us to enjoy the cold pizza plus gave him a tip. And when we opened box we got a cheese (little cheese) pie. For over $30😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡Sad that such a good pizza spot disappointed us so. And not for the first time!!!!!!
Service was fast and efficient. We ordered soup, salad, wings, and a regular pie. The wings were good soup and salad were average. The pie was very thin and crispy no fold on the slices. The pizza sauce was bland needed extra seasonings on to make it edible. I guess the crust is what everyone loves.
The highest quality around in overall taste and ingredients. It all starts with the crust; Deninos traditional New York style crust is the perfect mix between crunchy and sticky. The atmosphere gives the hometown feel of a traditional and lowkey pizza joint. Best pizza around.
I love the thin crust. Ask for Jason he will make it the way you want.Denino’s Pizzeria is a landmark in New York, with their award winning, thin-crust pizza. They originally opened in 1937 as a full tavern on Richmond Avenue, Staten Island until Carlo Denino introduced Pizza in 1951. Since then, Denino’s Pizzeria and Tavern has been renowned for our pizza pie and Italian dinner platters, which we always prepare fresh daily. We use our family’s recipes for Chicken Parmigiana, Meatballs and Sausage and over the years They added their our own version of tavern favorites like Wings, Scungilli and Hero Sandwiches.Everything is always made from scratch, never frozen, and cooked to order.
Good pizza, wings, and fried calamari. Nice place to eat with family and friends. Have been frequenting Deninos for a long time and will continue to do so. Great staff. I do believe that its time to new cushions in the booths in the main dining room, instead of sitting and sinking into the seats.I Miss mama rose very nice lady.carla was also very good . Stay safe
Good food. The woman with the thick black framed glasses that works there either hates her job or needs another one because she is very rude. Other than that, other employees are pleasant to deal with. They do have good pizza as well. Restaurant is overall a little dirty.
Hmmmm ...... Where should I begin ?1) Never any parking2) Located in the Mexican hood of S.I.3) Food mediocre at best.4) Inattentive waiter/waitresses.5) Overpriced for a Pizza Joint.6) Bathrooms filthy. Pee puddles on floors. Smells badly.7) Restaurant has all the ambiance of a shoebox with tables in it.8) The 1972 chairs are about as soft as asphalt.8) Charge a whopping 3.95% fee just for using a debit or credit card ? Then make it seem like a discount when paying cash .... Fugazy ..tsk.tsk.
Great pizza i ordered a margarita pie & ordered for pick up it was ready right when I had arrived hot fresh & delish. Great place for dine in & take out. Very friendly attentive staff they have a bar as well as 2 big areas to dine in or have parties... not to mention outdoor dining with nice sized awnings above to protect from covid or sun & bugs or even rain thats if you prefer eating/dining outside. Their parking lot isnt so big so probably better just looking for street parking... pretty classy restaurant if you ask me & Great Italian food and pies yummy 😋 I recommend to anyone & everyone!!
Pizza is best on the island. I am a long time customer and have one beef with this establishment. When they first started delivering and keeping accounts under the address I ordered a pep pie for delivery. A plain pie arrived which was fine, I just wanted the credit posted to the account. The next time I ordered, there was no credit on the account. We explained the situation and was told “sorry”. We still placed the order due to my love of pizza but I wish the credit would’ve have been available. I know everyone makes mistakes so this little inconvenience will not stop me from frequenting this establishment.
Come on Bro, do I really need to tell anyone how amazing Deninos is?!? Oh 1 hour wait? Ok no prob we will be at the bar. Sooo worth the wait, great drinks at the bar, delicious one of a kind mozzarella sticks. The pizza is in a class of its own. Bring cash, and enjoy yourself.
I never write reviews but I absolutely had to write one today. Deninos is well known on staten island but after this experience they will never see me again. I ordered an order of calamari, penne vodka and mozzarella sticks. I had to wait about an hour for delivery but that was fine. Being that the order took an hour you would think the food will come nice and fresh right??? WRONG!!! The calamari was cold and soggy and very salty. The mozzarella sticks was basically string cheese. The penne vodka was absolutely horrible. The sauce didn’t taste like penne vodka sauce at all!!!just straight up cream. All for $39.00 I would think the food would be better smh!
We ordered the Margarita and the House Salad and we were impressed with the House salad. Very fresh. But the sauce on the pizza was extremely salty. Like liability salty. Were fortunate that we dont have high blood pressure but if someone else did... would not have been good. Its unfortunate because we heard great things about their pies.
We got the Garbage pizza pie which includes sausage pepperoni onion etc. We also got the fried calamari which we always get whenever we order from Deninos. The pizza was delicious although I feel the meat could have been evenly spread out.. some slices had less and some had more which causes little kids to fight over the slices... 😃
First meal in NYC, and will worth it. They actually put veggies on the pie and dont cook them to death before! (Not preseason them though if you like that--i like em rustic!)Eggplant is AWESOME. Kids didnt even realize it.Pie is thinner but doesnt come out taste like some crunchy thin crust. Good environment. Good speed.
I grew up in an Italian neighborhood in Brooklyn so I know good pizza, and Deninos on Staten Island is possibly the best pizza I ever ate. We were driving through Staten Island and my husband wanted to go out of our way to eat there. I didnt really understand why, but I said OK, and wow, was I glad I did. It was definitely worth the trip! As to the ambiance, its a relaxed neighborhood joint, and every member of the staff was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!
I love the pizza here. In my opinion, they have the best pizza on the island. But their service is hit or miss. Some of their waiting staff just dont seem to care. I was on the guest list and the hostess never called me when some tables opened up. When I went to check I saw my name had been crossed off. When I ordered some dessert to go, nobody brought it out for us, I had to ask a different waitress to check on it. I still love this place, but their service could use some work.
Its an accomplishment to succeed at the pizza game in a City where you are surrounded by worthy rivals for your business. But to have your establishment rank at the top of its field, with its name synonymous with greatness, the feat would be legendary. And legendary is just what youll get when you enter Deninos Pizzeria and Tavern for a meal. In Crust We Trust emblazoned across their pizza boxes, this thin crust pizzeria specializes in an variety of delicious pies and finger foods. This cozy bastion of culinary greatness sits proudly on Port Richmond Avenue. You can take your family, take your wife, or take your mistress. But make sure you take your appetite, for the masters of sauce, cheese, and thinly stretched dough cook up a magical combination of majestically adorned Italian specialties.
Good pizza but didn’t live up to the high expectations. Good ingredients good sauce; maybe it’s a preference thing but I thought the crust was too crunchy and too thin. We ordered 2 pizzas to go, and the boxes felt so light, like there was 30% less “stuff” inside the box than any other pizza place.
Ive been going there for 40 years, and its always been good.. yesterday I had a very rough night at work and I needed a good meal. It was a perfect meal. The calamari were like butter and surprisingly not at all greasy. The pizza was the best I ever had. Crispy crust, perfect sauce. I thanked the manager for the heavenly meal.Of course we went to Ralphs after dinner for ices.Life is wonderful.
While I was out in Staten Island with my gf we decided to pick up dinner to bring home. I looked up pizza places nearby and Deninos had the highest rating. After eating their Margherita pizza I know why. I had to reheat it at home and it was still delicious. Great flavor and texture. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for great pizza.
Great authentic NY pizza! Was done very well and the staff was exceptionally nice. Probably the best pizza on Staten Island! They also have gluten free! The gluten free was also exceptional! The soda tasted fresh and had a great flavour! We also very much enjoyed the french fries. Only complaint was it was on the more expensive side. I would recommend to anyone whos looking for a bite late at night!
First time back here after 30 years and still on top of the game. Great pizza, and full Italian food menu solid! Spent a lot of time here back in the day when lived around the corner. Nice old time bar at front of restaurant with cold beer including a few crafts and mixed drinks! Service quick and very friendly. Hope it’s not another 30yrs before I visit again.
This is by far the best pizza Ive ever had. I have been going to this establishment for 28 years. Ive seen it go through a lot of renovations and yet no matter what changes they have made to the interior, the pizza is always high quality. Another favorite of mine is the calamari. It is always made to perfection. A small negative, though it does provide a bit of amusement, is the size of the glasses. They hold about 4 sips of a drink. Overall this is a place I would gladly recommend to anyone. I typically travel an hour to go every few months and it is totally worth it.
We ordered the fried calamari and buffalo shrimp for appetizer, and a large pizza w/ sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms. The buffalo shrimp was very good but the calamari was nothing special. We were there to try the NY style pizza anyway and I must say it did not disappoint. The crust was thin and crispy but not burnt. The toppings were fresh, and the pizza was very delicious.
Denino’s has the best pizza on Staten Island. It’s a family owned business that has been around for years. You can’t go wrong with any of the multitude of pies they offer. Our families favorite is the garbage pie. Pair that with an order of wings or fried calamari and you have an awesome meal. The staff is friendly and after you’ve been a few times they remember you. A lot of people will do carry out so they don’t have to wait for a table. It can get crowded at peaks times, but hey that’s because the food is good and people flock to that place. Definitely a must visit if you’re in Staten Island. I recently took some co-workers there, who were visiting from Los Angeles. They thought they knew good pizza. After eating Denino’s they were blown away. At first they weren’t sure about the paper plates and simple atmosphere. I explained it’s all about the food. Just give it a shot. They were sure glad that they did. Word has gotten out and now I have to bring another group for the folios NY pizza when they come to visit!
I don’t live on Staten Island. I visited the other nite after hearing how good it was.The “Garbage” pizza has all the toppings and really was pretty damn good. It was a stormy Saturday nite and no wait at all for a table but service was still very good . Nice young waitress.I can’t imagine living on Staten Island and not coming here, are there even better places?Let me know, please
I have to give them 5 stars even though I didnt eat the pizza. I had the best Broccoli Rabe ever. At first they got the order wrong and brought me spinach which was way too salty but the waitress insisted she bring me another and switched the dish. It was excellent. I didnt miss the pizza.
Despite having lived in Staten Island for 20+ years, Ive only just recently tried Deninos for the very first time. Weve always heard rave reviews about Deninos and decided to order from them, now that delivery was available to us. We ( 3 adults and 2 children) ordered a regular cheese pie and a Margarita pie. I thought the pizza was very good. We all liked it. I only tried the Margarita, so I can only attest to their pizza based on that particular pie. Pros: Margarita was tasty and fresh. I found the cheese to sauce ratio to my liking, the sauce was good & did not give me heartburn later on ( that is a plus for me), just the right amount of fresh basil, and I really liked the crust. Im partial to thin crust which is crispy not burnt, and Deninos got it right. Delivery was fast and the pizza arrived hot. The delivery person and the man who took my order by phone were both pleasant. Cons: No cons. I enjoyed the pizza and will definitely order from them again.
Excellent pizza!!! Served hot, crispy,( just the way I like it)sauce was very flavorful and cheese. We ordered 2 plain and 1 sausage pie, 2 wings and mozz stix. The sausage was delicious! The wings were meaty, tender, juicy and quite enjoyable. The mozzarella sticks were the cheesiest mozzarella sticks I ever had! We will definitely be back!
I think this place is overrated. I had a garbage pie half cheese only. The crust is super crispy which is good. Theres no cheese flavor and no tomato sauce flavor. Toppings are alright. The root beer was very good. Worth a shot if you like a healthier tasting kind of slice. I like my pizza dripping grease and heart attack level 5000. This dont do it for me.
Ordered spaghetti and received noodles and sauce. Never knew after ordering the same thing for months now meat is not included. Ive always gotten meat in spaghetti! After calling and receiving the rude customer service...I will not be ordering here anymore.Great thing gone bad. Food is good but not for the service.
Love, love, love Denino’s. Any Staten Islander knows that Denino’s is one of the best places for pizza on the island. It is has a homey feel as you walk in, the staff, the food, and the atmosphere are all excellent. Denino’s has my heart. If you are visiting the island this is a must stop!
Happened to be in Staten Island to see friends. None of us were local, but wed heard of Deninos reputation for excellent NY pizza. It lived up to our expectations! Menu was simple and enticing. One size fits all! Staff was super friendly and helpful. And most important, both salad and pizza were very good.
Second time I ordered a pizza for pick up...I got home and I pulled a slice, and immediately my fingers became black with charcoal...obviously they left it too long in the oven and it was charred underneath, I called them back and had to go to the inconvenience of driving back to get a new one...besides their pizza sauce is way too salty, obviously they do not care about healthy levels of sodium because they put enough to push your blood pressure to the roof. No good. No good.
Great place for Staten Islands best pizza, hands down. There is usually a wait in the evenings but the food is worth the wait. Just be aware that they are cash only but there is an ATM located inside the restaurant. Now that live out of state it is a must when I come back to visit and when I travel (sans my husband) a demand to bring back home!
Denino’s Pizzeria is a landmark in Staten Island, NY.You really need to eat in the restaurant to get the most enjoyment out of your meal. I’ve taken pizza home from here but it’s not the same as having it in the restaurant fresh out of the oven. They have regular dishes also, and they make great sandwiches (hero’s) but I think they are mostly noted for their thin crust pizzas. With a hearty appetite one pizza is good for two people. If you don’t normally eat a big meal you could probably share with three adults. Their wine choices are extremely limited but there is a full bar. It is a very casual place with photos of old Staten Island decorating the walls. We have to go there at least once every two months or more to have our pizza.
Deninos was outstanding, and well worth the hours it took me to finally arrive at the doorstep of this Staten Island icon. The cheese and sauce, combined with a unique, delicious, and very crunchy--but still foldable--crust. The service was great (s/o to our waitress, Marge) and the food lived up to our lofty expectations.
One of my all time favorite places for pizza. Always fresh and delicious. Favorites include the MOR pie, and mozzarella sticks. Best nights are those going to Deninos and then followed with Ralph’s ice across the street. Gets crowded on weekends. But, you can take pies to go. Absolutely love the food. Can’t say enough good things.
The pizza was great. Prices are fair. The restaurant and bar are classic and timeless. The bartender is kinda rude and grumpy and he is the only service we had so I cant speak to the others. They were out of Coors and didnt want to change out the tap. All in all a mixed experience but I would give it another chance for just the pizza
What can you say, neighborhood classic that never disappoints! Got there around 11:30 am for lunch, by 12:30 pm the place was busy. The waitress wasnt that thrilled that we were sitting at the table discussing business after we ate. After 15 dirty looks we took the conversation outside to free up the table. Ill still go back for the pizza every time, perhaps after the lunch rush to avoid the stare of the waitress.
Ordered 4 pies and the cheese version was like cardboard. Dried out, tasteless and possibly one of the worst pizzas I have had in along time. The other three had toppings and they were marginally better. The Cheese pizza is the staple of any restaurant. Getting it that bad was such a disappointment. I will not order from them again. Only reason they did not get one star is because the other three were edible.
Hands-down one of the best places in NY to connect with friends over incredible food.I have been going to Deninos regularly for the past 15 years and both the food and experience are unrivaled. Highly recommend the wings, cheese garlic bread, cheese pizza, M.O.R., buffalo, and Clam pies. (The price for value is also ideal).
Ive been going here since I was a kid. Never disappointed. They are very welcoming, service is always great so is ALL of the food. Since they are keeping the old school style alive there is cash only which NEVER has bothered me. This is definitely one of the best pizzerias!
Always the best. Place takes you back to the 50s. Great thin crust pizza. The best on the island maybe NYC. Great calamari, sausages and meatballs. Expect a wait on weekends. Only street parking. The lot only fits a few cars. Have a beer while you wait. Its fresh and cheap. When you finish, take a walk across the street and have a Ralphs Ice or Ralphacinno and youll be a real Islander
For some reason Staten Islanders rave about this place. Why? Its just your run-of-the-mill pizza. The crust is usually overly burned, and the pies are rather small.Meh.Ive had better. And for heavens sake Deninos, when you serve food other than pizza, would it kill to give your customers real plates and silverware, instead of paper plates and plastic forks? How about some real cups?Mediocre. There are better places.
I’m sorry but I cannot keep quiet concerning these negative reviews. When I go out to eat I usually don’t review where the food is good because that’s what I expect. The pizza and calamari are consistently the best on SI and the service always is pleasant. Yes it’s pricey but you get what you pay for. The pizza must be eaten in house for the best tasting experience.
One of my favorite pizza spots in the whole city. Secretly delicious calimari, and of course great pizza. Crispy crust, solid cheese, and a great sauce on top. Always has a bit of a homey feel and is never too packed, but always busy. I come here whenever Im on SI and craving pizza.
Deninos is a family oriented place with a long history which gives it old school vibe. Just the way tables are setup screams to bring your family with even another family. You do that and you will definitely have a great time. Staff is extremely friendly to the extent where just this bumps up your experience here. You really dont want to deal with grumpy staff if youre bringing your whole family somewhere. Now to the food. Pizza is the word here and thats what you really need to try here. I had vegetarian pie and clam pie and both were delicious. Thin crust with soft and juicy edges will make you want to eat it without toppings. Of course, you dont want to do that, so picking any of their combination is not regretful at all.
Brought in a big party there after my show.... we were seated quickly and the staff accommodated a guest in a wheel chair on a very busy evening.... All of our orders came to the table right out of the oven...and in a timely fashion ..One of the longest continually running pizza restsurants on Staten Island.... A favourite among the locals and beyond.Highly recommended.
Its a neighborhood pizzeria/restaurant. Its cozy and always clean. Servers are efficient, quick and kind. Food cooked fresh while you wait. Everything you order is yummy. A lot on their menu- appetizers, salads, pizza, sandwiches, platters, dessert, coffee, cappuccino. Have been here many times thru the years with both family and friends. It can get loud and busy on weekends and during the summer months. But its controlled chaos. Staff stays on top of it all. This is one place you are never forgotten about. Great for parties, big groups and kids too. Try it youll like it. They havent lasted all these years for nothing. They are rated one of the best places on SI & the NY area.
Deninos is long standing favorite going back to when I was a kid. In my opinion, and there are a lot of opinions when it comes to American pizza, Deninos pizza is hands down the best overall. The crust is chewy and crispy at the same time, the flavors are wonderful. Although we now live in Joiseeeee, we still come back to the Staten Island Deninos many times per year.
Best pizza in Staten Island and there are a LOT of pizzerias here. It has consistently been voted as Best in the local newspaper competition. The crust is thin, the toppings generous and the service quick. It can get crowded in the evenings on weekends and it only has a small parking lot BUT its right across the street from Ralphs Ices (original location) and theres nothing better on a summer evening than pizza at Deninos followed by ices from Ralphs.
I dont know what the rave about this joint. The pizza has no sauce nor cheese. Also, it looks like a frozen pizza outta of the fridge once you open the box. Even though you just got it 10 mins ago from the restaurant. Im sorry but their pizza cant even compete with Dominos or Pizza Hut!!! Now thats bad!!! Dont believe it just go try on your own and see for yourself if Im lying or not. I cant believe they have 4 restaurants selling pizzas with no sauce nor cheese with it! Ripoff!!!
DENINOS has been part of my food life since I was a kid. Every time I go there its always delicious and great service. Clam pizza shrimp parmigiana baked clams fried calamari are the best even the drinks are good. DENINOS IS MY FAVORITE PLACE FOR THIS TYPE OF FOOD AND IS A LEGENDARY LANDMARK OF STATEN ISLAND PLACES. KEEP IT GOING FOREVER
Almost 4 stars, but pepperoni got left off half of one pizza. Crust was a little overdone and the pizza was a little watery. Just the right amount grease and good fresh ingredients. We came in late and it was clear a lot of the staff were taking breaks. Earlier, on a different night it might have been better.
I came here with some friends on a lazy Saturday afternoon. The place was packed with families but we didnt have to wait for a table. The venue was spacious and has ample free parking near the vicinity. In the lobby, they also have a couple of old school coin video game machines and an ATM. The bathrooms were decently clean [toilet paper was everywhere, the floor was a bit wet, and the garbage almost overspilling] and one of the two stalls in womens room had a broken lock. We got a couple of different pies to try as they do not serve single slices [at least you know everything is fresh and not sitting under heat lamp]. The pizzas came out piping hot and were good but I feel like it was the same quality you can get at some of your better neighborhood pizzeria. The only difference is this place is set up as a restaurant and has a friendly wait staff and not a guy smothered with tomato sauce and flour asking what you want? The prices were decent but I wasnt overly ecstatic with the food to warrant an out of my way visit. Maybe if I was in the neighborhood and wanted pizza.
I think the Sangria helped me enjoy my pizza more, the toppings were great but the crust was thinner and burnt a lil more than I prefer. The calamari was good, and fresh; we had a few bones to prove it! Its cash only and a bit high priced but the service was good and fast its a homey environment and the ingredients are fresh. Nice slice of Staten Island tradition. Much better than the north shore Goodfellas.
Better than Angelinas. Pies are tastey and bigger. However i wish the menu was updated because Ive ordered pasta to pick up from there before, and when I took someone whos never had deninos, they took a look at the menu and assumed they do not sell pasta because it was not included in the menu, Ive never realized it my self but if was a new customer I wouldve never known they sell pasta either. Very friendly atmosphere and great service! Super family oriented as well.
The best crust youll ever find on a pizza! everything on the menu is delicious, the calamari is awesome too.prices went up a little while back but its still very fair in todays market. always in the top two on Staten Island for great pizza and anywhere in the world for that matter. you cant go wrong eating at deninos!
Some of the best pizza in the city, but its a pain to get to if you or your friends dont have a car. But it is accessible by bus from the ferry, and makes for a fun day trip for those who arent from Staten Island. Good prices, pitchers of soda, and the waitress was friendly enough. No frills, good food. The calamari was amazing.
Deninos is pretty good for thin crust pizza. My favorite was the fried eggplant. The vegetarian pie has fresh garlic on it, A+. I hear the meatball pizza is amazing as well. The restaurant is family style, looks like a diner inside and was packed to the gills on a Saturday afternoon. Dont expect much for ambiance but go for the pizza if youre in the area.
There plain pizza is the best in NY. Nice place with an old Italian restaurant vibe. Service is great. I felt that they have got everything right. The sauce, base and the cheese everything just goes perfectly with each other. If only it was a in Manhatten it would have got the same popularity it deserved. Its better than Lombardies Grimaldies and Joes pizza in New York.
First time at Denino’s and I wasn’t impressed. The non-pizza food was ok, standard quality I would expect from any other pizzeria. I ordered a plain cheese pie and it was a bit burnt on the bottom, overall quality was mediocre. For such a large restaurant, I was disappointed it was cash only considering the times. The ATM has a $3 charge! I probably won’t be back.
I sat down for a nice dinner with my family and everything we ordered tasted terrible. The fried calamari was chewy and soaked in a lemon mixture. The mozzarella sticks were just okay and luke warm. At least the margarita pizza was hot but it still wasnt that great. Having eaten here plenty of times in the past, we were very disappointed in the food we were served.
Horrible experience today...My Accessaride/MTA driving instructor took the class to lunch here today & if I could give it zero stars I would. When we walked in we were not greeted or seated by the waitress. She was extremely snotty & asked what do you want? The instructor said we would like a table for 5 for lunch. He also asked about ordering a pizza pie. Both questions were answered with a loud huh what? The rude, unprofessional waitress was pretending she could not understand anything he was saying. Finally she says take a table in the middle. One of my coworkers asked for water, instead of bringing her the water the waitress just set the glass of water on the other end of the table, didnt even bother handing it to the person who ordered it. The waitress waited on several tables around us, she had no problem hearing or bringing any other table their orders. We all felt very unwelcome and if we hadnt been very hungry, we would have left. Our table was the only table that included AMERICANS of Spanish and Black & Caribbean descent. Apparently the waitress had a problem in AMERICA in the year 2019 serving people who she thinks are different from her. Disgusting & sad. Oh the pizza...I give it 3 stars, could use a bit more cheese.
I love Deninos pizza!!! Their crusts are crispy and slightly chewy at the same time. Their clam pie is cheesier than Lees Tavern but I noticed fewer clams. I like the MOR pie a lot and you should definitely try it as it is their signature dish here. The price is also very reasonable and I see a lot of families dining here. But I think if I eat here too often, I am going to gain 20 lbs :)

2022-06-03First time coming here with a group of people. Good place for me to dine in and out. Only has one arcade machine. The pizza was good. I had two or three slices one pepperoni, two were plain. There was also a slice of cake with a strawberry on top I had because it was someones birthday. I noticed that they also deliver and do curbside pickup. They have this place on Seamless/GrubHub so someday I cant wait to try it. 👍😊 Took some pictures here and there just to see what it looks like. I think it had two dining rooms One was regular and one was for certain events. The dining room I went to had two gender type bathrooms. Its a good pizzeria🍕 but one day I might come back here.

2022-04-12Delicious thin crust crispy pizza with the perfect amount of toppings. The sauce was exceptional and service was excellent. This doesnt need another great review as its a staple of NY pizza but it deserves it anyway.

2022-06-27I’m my opinion, the best pizza on Staten Island. I’m all about that thin crust😀. I’ve never had a bad experience here. Staff is so attentive, you can get spoiled😀.

2021-07-30Definitely not the same as years ago! The service was terrible! The server was rude and non attentive. This would of been somewhat understood had the restaurant been crowded instead she was to busy eating her own lunch! We ordered drinks and got them in a timely manner had 2 flag her down several times to ask to order apps. Finally she took the order in which we received in a timely manner as well and I must say the apps probably were the best part of the meal. The pizza was mediocre at best. We ordered a salad the dressing was terrible .We also ordered Pasta fagiola it was only okay. The 2 pizzas looked amazing however were lacking in taste. The server never checked if we needed more drinks or if everything was ok. This place used to be a favorite for us however it has drastically changed. If it weren’t for the fried calamari, fried zucchini and Buffalo cauliflower (sauce served on side) being good I would rate the place now with 0 stars. Sorry to say definitely not like it was years ago… It was a total waste of $140.00 lunch. Take your business elsewhere because now it’s just Highly overrated.

2022-03-10Literally amazing pizza. Thin but not too thin and the crunch was PERFECT. Also, they have the BEST buffalo sauce I have ever had! It was pretty busy but our waitress was still super attentive and friendly! Highly recommend to anyone and everyone

2022-05-18We were on Staten Island for a soccer match and were talking about which pizza place to go to. Reviewed the Barstool top pizza on the island and we had several locals advise that Deninos was the best.Great decision with listening to the locals. We stopped in after the match and beat the Sunday crowd. The place was very clean, the people were very friendly and most of all, the food was terrific.Ordered the regular pizza, pepperoni pizza, specialty pizza, fries, mozzarella sticks and the Italian egg roll. The food was outstanding and you have to try the Italian egg roll as that was the highlight. I will definitely come back when visiting Bayonne as it is right across the bridge on the island.

2022-07-03When they say “Best Pizza” in NYC then all I’m gonna say is Denino’s for that thin crust NY style pizza. Again thin crust with that slightly burnt bottom. This is my #1 as will with the buffalo wings in house sauce. There hands down finger licking good. Please take the time to sit down and enjoy the pizza hot and fresh. This is the only way.
