Had a lady name Deyrica trying to flirt with me and get my number when my lil boy was getting treated please be more careful with your staff this is a kids dental service!!! It’s not to go look for a date !!! Another thing is the office is really a mess 6 females and no one has an answer girls just keep running back and forth like a chicken with no head !! Hope you get better staff
I called the office this morning and asked if they had something open at any time that day, there was an opening at 11:30 and as we live in the same street we accept the appointments. I was there with my 3 years old son at 11:30 and I gave them a call to let them know that we arrived. They told me that they will come out to get us 15 min later I called to check and no one picked the call. I called 2 times more and no answer. 40 minutes later they finally answered my call and told me that they have to reschedule our appointment because I was not there and that they called me. I told them that this is unprofessional and that it wasnt my mistake, and i still want to see the doctor. The staff member put me on hold for another 12 minute and now, I got a call from another lady who didnt want to introduce herself ! Even if she was not at the building she was arguing that I wasnt there on time. She was extremely rude and she even called me a liar. She was offering to schedule an appointment for another day. And I would accept that if it was my mistake but I was on time and they let me wait 50 minutes to blame me and covid regulations radar to apologise and accept the mistake. Like I said , the doctor was alway amazing. He always treats us nice but the staff is very unorganized and extremely rude, especially the back of the office, the lady if i can call her lady who never wanted to introduce herself and told me that she will get me out of the patient list !Mess with appointment happened two times before but this time was bad experience. I dont mind to wait but parents who have 3 years old kids know what I am talking about.
Such a lovely office! We had an amazing first time visit. Both the dentist and hygienist were beyond kind and easy going with my son, they made him feel completely comfortable from the moment his name was called and were very thorough explaining everything they were doing in a fun way where he was engaged and enjoying his visit. We had a very pleasant experience and Frankie walked out saying i love the dentist! So glad to have found this office!
We are in love with this place. Even my kid noticed the difference between this old dentist and this new one. Everyone was super nice. The waiting room and the exam rooms are very clean and organized. My kid asks a million questions and I love how the nurse answered him instead of ignoring him or telling him to be quiet. My child has ADHD so it can become hard to treat him. Definitely coming back. Thank you all for the wonderful service.
If i could give this place 0 starts i would . My 2 year old daughter had an appointment here for 10am. I arrived at 10:09 and was told i could not be seen!!! The receptionist said there was a grace period of 7 minutes and since i was 9 minutes late i could not be seen. Have you ever tried to get a 2 year old toddler out of the car seat and UP the steps . All of this after i drove my Manhattan to this place !!! And she could not be seen because i was TWO minutes past the “grace period”. A grace period that they do not inform you of. Disgusting
What a wonderful experience my daughter had today, the Hygenist and Dentist are amazingly kind, sweet, very caring. My daughter had a lot of questions(shes 6 1/2 yrs old) and the Hygenist was so patient and sweet. She explained everything in a manner my daughter can understand. Ive taken her twice to a previous dentist and everything that was done at this office was all new to me. She was extremely well taken care of. Im so so very happy it was such a pleasant experience. Dentist visits arent usually a place people like to goto but this visit was one to remember. Super professional and Im not exaggerating! Very content! I wish they would attend adults too because this would be my goto! Thank you!My son went today and excellent experience, very caring Hygenist. She showed worry and concern. Something that my kids previous dentist never did. I am thankful I was recommended this place.
We are very happy with Dental smiles 4 kids Astoria. The office is very clean, the staff is very nice & friendly. The waiting time is pretty good in general never had to wait more than 10 minutes. We live far away from the office but it is worth the trip. I highly recommend them!Thank you Dental Smiles 4 Kids Astoria!
I just visited this place with my 5 years old the third times. Previously I had a great experience, and I didn’t mind to we had to wait to our appointment for 3 months. It isn’t worth it. The staff has changed and professionalism wasn’t the same level like last time. Unfortunately we couldn’t even finish our check up. The assistant is wounded my kid’s gum while she tried to do an x-Ray. We had to wait to the doctor an hour and when she finally came to check my daughter teeth, she didn’t do her job well. Never come back again and I won’t recommend.
Excellent experience for my daughter today who went there for a tooth extraction. The dentist was so amazing and comforting with her making sure she was comfortable and felt no pain at all. Front desk staff were also very polite and very accommodating. I will definitely be going back with my son for cleaning.
Love Dr. Chen and especially her assistant. I could see her assistant being a great dentist as well one day if she choose to be in her own practice. They made a wonderful team and they made my children so comfortable. The work that was done on them both was phenomenal.
Response to owners response: Please CHECK your records - our bad experience at your practice took place in Nov- Dec 2019 - there was no pandemic then !!! When the pandemic started, we no longer lived in NYC.At least as the owner of the dental office - you could have started by saying I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience, we will take any negative feedback and try to improve our practiceIt was the worst experience I have ever had with a dental office!!1. Front desk staff rude, not friendly, not polite and not helpful. They makeyou feel like you bother when you deal with them. (I made the appointment for my daughter a month in advance in person at the office where I was advised that if i fill out the paperwork there and then, when I come for the visit, I save time by not having to waste time with papers) I did exactly so. A month later when I showed up (15 min earlier) with my 5 years old for her first ever dental annual checkup appointment (she was very scared cuz she did not know to expect) i was told to wait that shortly they call me. 45 min later - nothing (meanwhile the waiting area overcrowded, packed with kids and parents all waiting - a very noisy and loud atmosphere). My daughter was becoming very nervous. I went to the front desk to see why such a long wait and the gentleman there looked into the system and says well you did not fill out the paperwork - i replied saying yes I did, a month ago when i made the appointment - then he looks into a folder by his desk finds my paperwork and tells me - you shouldve told me when you came that paperwork is here and need to be entered ... i said then why your other colleague had me fill out the paperwork a month ago and assured this way i will not have to wait now because she will enter it in advance ...They do not call back when you leave voice messages, they reply to emails. Just a horrible experience!!!2. The actual visit - my daughter was very nervous after one hour waiting in a a very unorganized and chaotic environment - and they ask me to try to calm her and make her not cry not to make scary other kids outside... the nurse was not able to make my daughter relax or make her feel comfortable there therefore she was not able to do all x rays she intended . When the doctor came - was very unfriendly and was kind of bother that my daughter is so nervous and scared and felt that it is my job to calm her and make her feel good on the chair. After a very superficial exam she informs me that my daughter has cavities but they can do it there because my daughter is too scared, and cries and they can deal with this, and the only option is to take her to a specialized hospital where they can do a total anesthesia to do cavities for her milk teeth.Fortunately, I did not follow her advice and found a great dental office specialized only on dental treatments for kids (night and day difference) the place is called Slim Dental Kids in Manhattan NYC - no wait time, super nice and friendly staff, paperwork was done online, no wait time, the doctor and nurse super friendly, smiling and making my daughter feel comfortable not scared, no crying ... and able to do the work on her teeth.
Very kind and patient dentist. Great bedside manner. Its a bit tough getting a hold of staff. Facility outsources to a call center that does not have access to existing appointments. Seems as if call center can only make appointments. I called multiple times to confirm appointment but never received a call back. Its really unfortunate because once you get to the clinic, customer service is superb.I also cringe when having to sign paperwork detailing that a $50 fee will be charged for missed appointments.
We brought our 5 year old in to the Astoria location for a second opinion/consultation after a horrible experience at our previous dentist office. The office is very clean and super kid friendly (our boys loved the stickers and balloons after the visit). Our son saw Dr. Lee and she was amazing! She explained everything she was doing to our son while she did it so he wouldnt get nervous or scared and that truly helped ease him. Afterwards, she showed us the x-rays and let us know what was going on, her recommendation on how to treat and also explained in detail the procedure for a filling. All of our questions were answered and we felt confident in the treatment plan presented to us. I am so happy I found this office and will be bringing both of our boys here going forward! The staff was so nice and attentive. Thank you so much to Dr. Lee, Rebecca, Carmen and Garik! You all made this process so seamless and we are so happy we made the change.
This place was nice, clean, friendly receptionist. The Dr we saw was very professional and nice. I saw all kids come out with balloons and a bag full of dental things like a toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.. I will be taking both of my children together soon for a check-up.
I have no words to describe how terrific the staff is. They are simply amazing you are literally in and out and get the work done ASAP. My child has had many bad encounters with other dentists but this crew is the best. They are very professional and accurate they treat our kids like their own. I am so glad that my Hailey is finally at a comfortable place.Thank you,Mrs& Mr. Zayas
Last year our dentist stopped taking our insurance and we had to find another one. I went to two places before we came here and was very disappointed with how some pediatric dentists look and operate. We tried dental smiles as third option I am so glad we did! There were able to do all the work needed in one appointment and the doctor was sooo nice. My 7 yo was a bit nervous but laughing gas made it so much easier. No need for general anesthesia like one place suggested, for a cavity! Seriously?!Highly recommend this place. And the office is very clean and well managed with covid prevention protocol. Will definitely be back. Thank you.
I enjoyed taking my toddlers here; however, I was charged for $50 for fluoride treatment. I was never notified that my insurance would not cover that fee. I would appreciate it if I were informed of the fee or if there was a sign advising of the possible fluoride fee next time Before getting fluoride treatment.
Highly Recommend!!!! Today I took my 4yr old son for his 6 month cleaning and I was so happy with how clean and well organized the office was. We have been going to Dental Smiles since my son turned 1 every 6 months. The staff is always pleasant and attentive. And the office clean. Now due to the Covid pandemic, the office is taking extra precautions to keep everyone safe. Before arriving, I filled out an online form to answer health questions pertaining to Covid. On arrival, we were asked to wait outside till some came to the door. Our temperatures were checked and then we were asked to sanitize our hands. The room was cleaned thoroughly before we entered. Everyone had masks and my only removed his mask once in the chair. The staff happy and helpful. We were in and out in 30min. I highly recommend them!

This office has the worst customers service ever, they sent several text messages to confirm an appointment. even on same day of the appointment. When we arrive the recepcionist on the phone said do not have record of us in their system. When I asked to talk with her supervisor, she rise her voice to tell that it is the wrong locations and office, even thou all the text messages has the appointment at the Astoria location, this office customer service do deserve 0 star.Did you said after 4 weeks of that incident that it is a mix up, but not, your recepcionist know what she said and what she did, she didnt let my family go in to the office, when we arrive, just talked outside from your entrance door, it is a good customers services? NOT it is NOT.
I have not words to describe my daughter experienceTo be honest I was more nervous then my daughterSince our first appointment was great, staring with the from desk !Dr.Andrea its amazingI am pretty sure all dentist are good thereBut my experience with her was terrificI very blessed that I foundedI loved
On Monday I called to request that my childs appointment be changed. They changed it for me on Wednesday but I forgot it. I called the next day and the gentleman at the reception refused to give me an appointment again. Because they didnt allow it. That I can not call that place again to request an appointment again as if you had done something very bad! They veto us. As if the consultation was also free and other treatments he does. Incredible but true. In addition to the attention and the way the man who answers the phones speaks is terrible! It almost hits one when one calls. It is not possible for this customer service to be handled.
Recently began bringing my two kids here, and immediately liked it. I like everything about it, from the way it looks to the staff. Everyone who works here has been very friendly and patient with the kids. Very clean and bright aesthetic. We will definitely keep coming here and recommend it to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist!
Absolutely the most rude office I ever dealt. My kids have been going to see Dr K originally from Whitestone !! With the pandemic when I made the appt they asked fir medical clearance from their doctor. So I call my doctor and she asked why since the appointment is in late October and they haven’t been anywhere RUDE IS A UNDERSTATEMENT!!!

My experience at Dental smiles 4 kids Has been great .I have two kids that have been going to this office for two years Each time we are seen in a timely fashion and they excepted my insurance. Dr Liza is truely professional and I would recommend this place to everyone .
I called to make an appointment they asked me about all my information and i gave them all of my information. They said we will call you back asap to confirm an appointment. 3 days passed and no body called. when i decided to call them again, they told me there is no availability until end of October!!!!why would you tell me we will call you to confirm your appointment and then nobody calls and after all you tell me I have to wait 4 month for an appointment!
Absolutely the most rude office I ever dealt. Called 3 times for an emergency. Never called me back. Finally got The service and a call back. I was told from the beginning of call do I realize there is a pandemic? Yes I realize!! And all doctors offices open for emergencies except apparently this office!! RUDE IS A UNDERSTATEMENT!!!
We have had a great experience with this practice. The doctors and hygienists work very well with the kids. The desk staff have provided a lot of support as we have worked out insurance coverage. The lobby is fun — tv, iPads, and toys.My 7-year-old says, “I really like this place. The doctors are super duper nice.”
Worst receptionist ever! if you a new patient don’t waste your time calling them they will put you in hold for a very long. They are very rude and unprofessionals.I called this morning to make an appointment for my daughter. I told them it was an emergency reason so they had me on hold. The receptionist came back to tell me that she has one spot at 3pm and to hold on again to schedule the appointment she left me in hold for 20 minutes just to say “how can I help you” and I had to remind her what I was waiting for. She left me in a hold again to look for an appointment and told me that she had nothing available until next week. (This was very upsetting because I waited 30 minutes after they said they had one. I could it be looking for someone more profesional)I tried tried to keep the appointment for next week but since I was missing some information I said I will call back with the information to please hold the spot for me. They refused to hold the spot. So after waiting for so long having all my patient towards such an unprofessional staff the at least I deserved was for them to hold the appointment for my child for a couple of hours until I can find the missing information and call them back.I ask to speak to the person in charge and they put me on hold again.when I finally spoke to “The person in charge “chein” or at least thats what she claim her name to be. Very rude lady and use the pandemic As an excuse to defend their actions. She said that they put everyone on hold for this long because they dealing with the pandemic. ( How about lying to people because I was told they did had an appointment at the beginning?)Although this can be upsetting I am glad I never got to go there because if that’s the front desk I can only imagine what’s behind their office.
I just want to say what a great experience we had atDENTAL SMILES 4 KIDSDr LEE was amazing with my three kids. My kids are always fearful of the dentist but were so relaxed. I always took my kids to a regular dentist but taking them to the pediatric Dentist is the way to go. They even excepted my Local 3 union insurance in full .Also have to mention how professional and wonderful Robin the manager was.... Thanks everyone
Both of my kids became patients at this dental office about 2 years ago. With my little one being only 5 and a little scared of the dentist, they made her very comfortable. Love that they work with your work schedule to make sure your child appointment is convenient for you. They have iPads, toys and books in the waiting the area to make sure keep the children occupied. I highly recommend Dental Smies for kids. You as the parent will be satisfied with the service too.
I love dentist smile for kids, my children went there a week ago. My two-year-old and one and a half year old they were very comfortable with the dentist, my one year old always give me a hard time to brush his teeth and he sat there and let them cleaned his teeth, thats how good they are after that we had no problem at home brushing teeth. They know how to make kids feel safe and not afraid.
The Receptionist is incredibly unprofessional. I called to set up an appointment for the first time, the first thing she asked what kind of insurance do you have? I told her my insurance name and she then said that I needed a referral, I tried to explained to her that I had already called my insurance to verify that she could be seen her and they said it was fine, she back at me and yelled at me WELL NO, BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT GOING TO PAY. This is unexcusable to deny service for just believing the bill wont be paid, if insurance wouldnt cover the cost of an emergency then I would have no problem paying out of pocket, but the actitude of this lady is so nasty that I preferred to seek medical attention somewhere else a pitty knowing the doctor was highly recommended.
On february 15th I received as always text & email our reminder appt for February 20th at 12:20pm(today), I called that day to CONFIRMED my kid appt I spoke with the front desk lady, she confirmed my kids appt. Today we got there at 12:11pm when I approached the front desk and told the guy my son first name & last name he daid hes not in todays schedule, I told him I received the text and I showed it to him his answer : I dont know about that I dont from where you got that because is not in the schedule . He asked the lady next to him, she doesnt care at all , she said I can give you appt for a other day, I said no because I took my time to come here because I received the text and I CONFIRMED it , then she goes ok if you want to come back at 2pm....I cant come.back, I repeat to her I received the text, she said yes from.a machine and is not our fault by the way in the waiting room they were just 2 patients waiting. My concern in this situation what bothers me is NOBODY said Im sorry it was a mistake, let me see how may I help you! It was just the attitude....I work in a dental office too(front desk) and I know mistakes happen but we can fix it in a nice & polite way helping our patients. My kids were patient for more than 3 years and the assistants, hygienist and dentist are very very nice and gentle.its a shame that we are not coming back because of this unprofessional 2 ppl.THANK YOU!!!
We waiting well over an hour to see the dentist. We waited close to another hour for him to see us between treating 2 or 3 other children. Our daughter was freezing in the AC (it was mid-summer) and while the dentist was kind to our daughter, no-one apologized for the delay or inconvenience. Im not sure if it was incompetence or overbooking, but 20 mins after we signed in (we arrived 5 mins early) we got a call from the receptionist asking where we were [sat in the same waiting room as her!]. I will never go back here.
I arrived on time with my 3 kids, waited over 45 minutes while seeing other patients who arrived after us go right in. I complained to the receptionist but was told to wait a little longer then wed go right in. 15 minutes later I was given the choice either to wait more or leave!! so I had no choice but to leave and to never go there again. They are totally ignorant, irresponsible and dont know how to deal with people. They are not fit to handle a professional office and should be reported to consumer affairs for their running a zoo like dentists office.
I running late for my daughters appointment. The receptionist kept calling everything 10 minutes asking when are we going reach the office. Once we were there, she told us Oh! Sorry the dentist cant see your daughter. Because she has too many patients today. So if that was the case, why would the twisted receptionist not tell us that earlier? Wasted our entire trip all the way from Jamaica to Astoria to see her filthy face and listen to her disgusted talk in immensely heavy rain on a Saturday morning.... Most terrible people...
Shockingly I was upset they are demanding to pull 2 of my 4 year old child teeth when they can put filling. # 2 they states one was infected and when I ask for anti biotics because she not eating well I was told no. After leaving my wife must have phoned them 4/5 x no answer!!!!! Horrific day
PLEASE IF YOU READ THIS DO NOT GO HERE run I am so upset and they ruined my little girls lip cut it deep with tools just to do a filling on her tooth and this incompetent dentist Ms. Chan is not capable of even doing a filling just damaged her lip when I saw it I was terrified. This is not acceptable.
Been going to them for a few years but the practice is changed staff completely ..my child’s hygienist is no longer there nor are the same dentist since the pandemic everyone is gone .. I can say it’s very clean and hygienic reception area has new glass dividers seemed sanitary enough and social distance and CDC rules were complied ..staff was nice ..but seems sad all the staff from previous were great .. maybe I need to get use to this new staff..gave 3 stars because it’s too soon to rate 5 ..
The woman behind the front desk was arrogant and racist in my opinion. I arrived at 1030AM for our 11AM appointment, my son was seen at 12:10PM. There was another mother that did complain about the waiting time while I was there and they told her that is important to be on time implying that she was late for hers. There was also a couple that arrived and they were told that their appointment was going to be rescheduled because the doctor was to busy. After the couple argued that they drove 2 hours to get there the recepcionist agreed to honor their appointment, however they would have to wait over an hour to be seen. The hygienist however was nice and tried to make my son that it is only 20 months feel very comfortable and secure. The reason why I mentioned that the recpcionist was racist is because she didnt seem to believe that I was the mother of my son because she questioned me even after going through the forms where I clearly wrote my relationship to him and she did not question any other mothers there that were there for the first time just like me.
I had going there since 2008. IT was expensive but truthfully. Sadly, things changed to the WORST. First of all, one day,my appointment was rescheduled to one hour before and I was notified at last minute. So,I didnt confirmed it and showed up on my right time. The lady behind the desk tgot so upset and treated me as doing me a favor rescheduling me and charged $ 10 extra for the dental cleaning. I decided to change of dentist and yesterday I went there to pick up my records. For my surprise, ALL MY ORIGINAL X-RAYS had being DESTROYED without they ask me. Those x-ray were from the full mouth that were took for each other year. They are very important to me to following the development of my bone desiase. They said that everything is in the PC but the only pic is there is a small 1 × 1,2. I felt horrible trusting of them and now will have a hard time to recuperate then where were taking. TO ME, IT IS ENOUGH !
After taking my kids there for the first time, i decided to get a 2nd and 3rd opinion from their previous dentist and a family friend who is a dentist in regards to what they claimed my children needed done and also based on the xrays they emailed me over, and they both said that my oldest son did not have any cavities meanwhile Dental smiles 4 kids in Astoria claimed that he had 2. And in regards to my other child the other two dentists also said that he did not have 6 cavities and that more than likely did not need a baby root canal. They did see one old cavity on Johnny where i guess the filling came out. So Im not sure what their office or better yet what the lady who seems to run the place or be a manager was trying to pull off here but whatever it was it seems completely unethical or fraudulent to me.
They discriminated against me and my family. The office manager was Sooo rude and unethical. Even Dr.K fooled me to take down my previous review and then ignored my complaint, however he said he will fire the office manager. But, I have the recording and going to seek legal actions.
The staff is lousy arrives at the appointment time and they attend 2 hours later. And if the appointment is changed 24 hours before they charge $ 50 and when you ask what because the person says that he can change the appointment and charge nothing more. They should be kind and punctual on dating very bad experience
Very good place, excellent work. A lot of patience with the children, they explain what they are going to do step by step. Not all places are like this. Waiting time, it is not so much only when it is first time to fill out the wastebasket. But the rest is perfect! Very clean place, I recommend it!

2022-05-05We have been a patient at a different place but met Dee there, my son has special needs (autism/adhd) and all our visits has been good except when they changed owners. I stuck it out because when your kid with special needs forms a good relationship with someone, you know its going to be great. We followed Dee into this practice and today was our first visit. The clinic is clean. Everyone was nice and pleasant. The doctor and Manny were attentive. Overall, it was like coming home to something we have been used to having. Its farther from where we used to go & since he is now an adult- theres an insurance issue, I dont mind paying extra. As long as my family is comfortable going to this place, we will keep coming here every 4-6 months.

2022-03-02My kids have been patients here for years. My pediatrician recommended this dental office and they really do cater to kids needs and comfort. Even though we moved further away I still make the trip for my kids appointments because they are so caring and do a great job!

2022-03-06This was the first dental checkup for my kid and it was a disaster. I got there 10 minutes earlier and they didn’t have my appointment in file. I had to show proof of texting with them so that they could have visited my kid. After 20 minutes the dentist finally visited my child and after 10 seconds she said everything was good and we could leave. The nurse rushed to put a paste on my kid’s teeth and said we were good to go. At the front desk they told me I had to pay for that toothpaste, because it was actually not a normal toothpaste. Nobody told me that, I didn’t have the option to say I didn’t want it. Also, they said I had to pay out of pocket for the visit. I was shocked! I told them what’s going on and finally the manager became reasonable and waived the balance. Beside all this, my kid (not even 2 years old) was crying and they could have cared less. It didn’t look like a kid dental office. Everyone was rude and had no interaction with the actual child. All they cared was billing! The only reason why they waived the balance was because (as the manager told to the other employee) they care about the reviews. That’s all! I will never ever go there again: first and last time!Update: after they saw my review, they decided to bill me $15.00 for a visit that lasted 10 seconds and for a bill they said they were going to waive considering the situation I described in the previous review. The bill arrived exactly few days I wrote the review lol How do you call all this? Professionalism? Good customer service? If there was the option to give negative stars, I’d have definitely gone for that!!! Ridiculous!!!

2022-06-04I cannot believe this office is still open, I thought they closed down. I have been trying to call them for over a month to schedule an appointment for my daughter and no one ever answers their phones, so i just found a new dentist for my children. In this day in age professionalism, technology and communication is a must for any business. Not sure what they are doing over there or how people even get in contact with them.

2022-04-22I have been bringing my kids here for a few years, but we are ready to find a new pediatric dentist. During our last visit, the hygienist used the same dental suction and water spray tools for both kids! When I asked her if she changed it, she claimed it was ok to use the same one because the first child does not have cavities. What a ridiculous response, but I still checked with my dentist friend who said absolutely not and that she should have wiped down everything between the kids. She said if I were more comfortable that she would change it 😏. I was so skeeved by the experience and her answer. Another annoying thing is we never seem to see the same hygienist or dentist.
