BBQ here was great. Is this location permanently closed now? The phone # is disconnected, sign gone and its closed. Whats going on?
Usually a 4 star experience the few times eating here. today ordered a basic brisket sandwich meal and the meat was old and dry. You can clearly tell meat was not edible.

As you walk into this place your mouth already starts to water as the smell goes up your nose. It smells delicious inside. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Husband had a few questions about some of the different dish choices and they were gladly helping him. Place had a cozy feeling to it. More so a laid back type of atmosphere to it. If you have gone by or heard someone say the name of this place, make this a stop to add to your to go to restaurants. Food is mouth watering good and fair prices too. Thanks guys for having some really awesome food!!
Taste was meh, lots of grease and fat and taste of liquid smoke which Im not a fan of. Overall, just ok
The lady that first came out of the kitchen area was extremely rude and barely spoke English. She was very pushy when we told her hang on that we didnt know what we wanted she continued numerous times to be pushy. Were ordered baked potato casserole and they did not give us that. They gave us mashed potatoes with cheese and scallions on top. Ive been too dickeys a ton of times thats not what the baked potato casserole is.
One of Plattsburgh unassuming gem: great brisket sandwich (the westerner is just what I needed) in a brown Texas decor and Ronald Reagan overlooking. Yeeehaaa!
I’ve come here a few times with friends and family and the food is great. The staff is very friendly and will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable eating there. They have gluten free options which is great. I really like their chicken! Everyone I have brought here likes it. Definitely a great place to eat if you are in the area or just want something quick but delicious.
I know its a franchise, but its nice to find half decent BBQ.
I do enjoy this place. Its great especially since its fast food but doesnt taste that way. Makes you definitely feel like you got it at a barbeque. Just be sure when you order you get everything you ordered. A few times I have either been missing something or it seemed to have been replaced by something else. The brisket and Mac and cheese are delicious.
Very good smoked meats. (The spicy bbq sauce is awesome. Try it!)The sides are good. But, nothing fancy. Beans, mac & cheese, waffle fries, etc... kids love them.Overall good price to quantity of food.Would stop in again.
I used to go here weekly, not anymore. The last few times Ive ordered online my order has been wrong or the meat has been almost inedible. I dont give up easily, I ordered the Monday pulled pork sandwich special today. Granted it was 7pm, but the pulled pork was extremely dry and was cold. The pickles and onions that used to be free are now $.50 each. So no pickles, I had to have onion so paid the extra $.50. $.50 for one small ring, not slice, just one small onion ring. We need another BBQ place in Plattsburgh please.
1/5/21 - Ordered the 1 Meat Plate with 2 sides. The chicken was tender, moist and flavorful, even without any sauce. The salad was comprised of crunchy fresh greens and what appeared to be homemade seasoned croutons. Great place to eat thus far in my personal opinion.1/6/21 - Ordered the 1 Meat Plate with 2 sides. The turkey was a bit overly seasoned, as if it sat in a salt brine for a little too long, but wasnt all That dry. Unfortunately the breaded and fried okra was under cooked. However, the creamed spinach was very good. Warm, velvety, creamy mix of aswego cheese and cooked spinach, YUM.1/7/21 - Ordered the 1 Meat Plate with 2 sides. Found the brisket to be Extremely salty and overcooked. The salad greens were starting to turn brown and the croutons were stale. However, the staff was very friendly and the facility appeared to be very clean and organized.
Has kind, friendly staff, the food is awesome and Dickey,s is always clean. The staff is always patient while I decide what to get. The staff is always busy doing something, even at slow times. I have never seen the staff stand around. The sweet barbecue sauce taste very good.
The manager is a cheerful delight with a warmth of knowledge and smiles. The food is good and well-priced. The bathrooms are clean and in great working order. Drink variety is on point. The ice cream at the end is the most delicious treat. Will go back!
We always love it but even more so on kids eat FREE Sundays. Its always yummy & personally I have lunch left overs even on the 2 meat. We do miss the ice cream. And the 1 here doesnt have Texas toast or cornbread 😕.
They didnt have half of the menu items ready to order. No ribs, no sides except for the three deep fried ones. Major cussing from the employees while waiting for the food and while we were eating we could still hear it and we sat the farthest away we could. Very unprofessional.
Food was delicious..the side entree of mashed tators,cheese an chives was very good.thing that didnt like is you no longer help yourself to the barbecue sauce.they give it to you.an the Cubs sized went down.buut all an all.was good an Id recommend people there
This was pretty good food I just got a simple meal two chicken tacos and a side of Mac and cheese nothing too special but the service was good they show you through the menu pretty well when you go to order and everything on the menu definitely falls under the barbecue category and it all seems like it would be good, it’s also perfect being across from the mall and them not having to eat in that place anymore

This place used to be great! The staff was amazing and they took care making sure that the food was prepared properly and delicious.Now though it is not worth visiting. The staff all act like customers are an inconvenience and the last time I was there one of them argued with me over a coupon I had brought in. They have also changed the hours they are open but have not updated online or the hours listed on the door. Food is not prepared with the same level of care it used to be and things are constantly missing ingredients, seasoning or just plain burnt. This is unacceptable considering the price is much to high for the quality.If your looking for good food at a good price go literally anywhere else.
Love the food. Just want to point out to the owner, it says you are open until 9pm on your website. I went to your restaurant last night (9/6/18) at 7:20 pm and your staff had the door locked and looked like they were ready to leave. Thought it strange to be closing so early on a Thursday. You may want to make your hours of operator clear to your loyal customers.
Awesome experience. Staff was friendly and helpful as this was our first visit, even giving us a sample before ordering. Everything was served hot and well seasoned. Three different types of barbecue sauces are served warm and an ice cream cone for dessert ends your experience nicely. Would definitely recommend.
Brisket on the dry side, overcooked, not alot of flavor. Kid slicing had no idea the difference of thr point or flat... pork was ok...spicy sausage good...coleslaw good mac n cheese from a box. Over ok nothing id need to try again. And over priced forbthe servings

Food is always good. The service is spotty though. The young employees that day were lazy and slow. Im not sure that they are using any sort of servsafe standards. The meats kinda sit on the counter under a lamp. The BBQ pumps they use are dumb and make a huge mess all over the ketchup bottles. They can make good food but they need to work on the rest.

When I saw Dickeys on the map, I had to pull off. Were from Texas, and yall, this is one pit worth a pit stop. This specific location is actually better than the Houston and Austin locations we frequent.I also like this place because its a family business. Dont get impatient with the young people running the line yall, we need more hard working young people out here.Their brisket is hands down the best, and either sausage will make your mouth water. The 2 2 meat 2 side plates for $22 was a great deal.Stop on by for a good time and a meal to remember.

Ive just eaten at this restaurant for the last time until there is a complete turnover of the lunch staff. Do you want onions and pickles on your sandwich? No.....Onions and pickles it is. Is this for here or to go? To go......Here it is. Since this store changed management it has continued to go down hill. My sandwich today was on a stale bun that fell apart when I tried to eat it. Another time I go a brisket sandwich and it was full of uncooked fat. Im done. I give them a year and theyll be gone if something doesnt change.
The people are really welcoming and the seating area isnt bad. By God is the food dry and salty. And too sweet. IT LOOKED SO PRETTY UNTIL YOU CHEWED IT,And in not even that picky.
December 31, 2019 we (Clark’s Truck Center) had our annual year end get to gather and it was catered by Dickey’s. A young man by the name of Roger delivered the food on time and every thing was well identified and DELICIOUS. Thank you and we HIGHLY recommend you. Happy 2020 to all. Missing sides, chicken, pork, beef brisket was very dry. When I called to report the sides for the meals were missing, the associate I spoke with could of cared less.
I usually enjoy a sandwich but this time it wasnt up to par and the sides were cold.I ordered the au jus sandwich, which is usually a favorite of mine at other places. This left something to be desired. The au jus sauce was flat and flavorless. Tasted like diluted soup broth. Very disappointed.The meat wasnt as good as they have prepared before at all.The staff that was working didnt seem to be as attentive as they usually are. They were outback most of the time.
Pretty good low key place. Hit it on the way back from Quebec City. Free ice cream at the end is a nice touch. Fast and friendly service. Meat was pretty good. Prices are very reasonable. Plenty of food.

Not bad, but the staff needs to be trained on how to properly trim the briskets. They butcher it! Also the marbled meat side should be sliced with the lean side and served together. The poor Yanks in Plattsburgh are missing out on the best part of the meat!
The best BBQ in Plattsburgh, I believe your only choice. Besides the point, it has great customer service. BBQ is great esp for being in upstate NY. They have amazing sides to choose from. Brisket is amazing.
I had just gone through a procedure and I had no food for over 24 h...so my sign other bought a variety of food from Dickeys. I had pulled pork sandwich, some potato salad and beans. Not the best ever but definitely tasty.
Food was really good, the kid (Roger) who took our order was very polite and helpful. The place is comfortable atmosphere. Definitely coming back.

6 staff on board, still couldnt put forks in the bins. Out of ribs at 6pm?!? Front greeter/server couldnt be more dis-interested. Plenty of sides but only dried out pulled pork, brisket, and way over cooked polish sausage. Paid a lot of money for less than mediocre meals. Ferry tickets both ways, as well. Ill stay home next time and cook a great steak from our local market.
This is a hidden gem. The pulled pork and beef brisket sandwiches are awesome. Soft, juicy anf flavourful. They were out of ribs when I went, so now I have to go back. It was definitely worth a visit.
Dickeys is great, I love the Westerner sandwich with pulled port and brisket. Fast friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere.
It was good. The food is largely reheated so some parts were dry (I guess I should expect that from a chain) but the food is flavorful. Id come back
Be aware of your orders. I purchased a meal from this establishment less then a month ago & became violently ill they are very negligent with preparations. I’ve currently filed a civil complaint along with a suit for compensation I’ll never return to a Dickey’s BBQ for as long as I live. Take heed. I would actually rather leave 0 stars
Small Dickeys, but it tastes just like Texas. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is low-key and and relaxing. Its never too busy. Even though they often run out of BBQ, its still worth checking out. Its a real blessing to have authentic wood pit BBQ in upstate NY.

Food is good. There are no vegetarian plates (some bbq seitan would be awesome). My husband and grandson love the bbq and atmosphere. Kids eat free on Sunday. Free ice cream cones with every meal. It isnt as well taken care of as it used to be and is not a clean environment ( why I marked it down).
A restaurant where the management actually cares about their customers experience. Thats a rare find these days. Every time I drive through Platts I have to stop in for their brisket, they’ve got me addicted for sure!!

Meat was great, very tender, but the sides werent the greatest.The Jalapeno beans tasted like can chili, definitely not what I was expecting.
It ok for a chain. I love fried okra but would not suggest getting it they are not fresh and come from the freezer which you can tell. Definitely can tell you are not in the south.

It was a great barbecue tasting chicken, the taste linger in my mouth for about 5 minutes I couldnt stop thinking about it, I was putting this special menu in my mind for the next time that I stop there.
Bad all the employees had really bad attitudes the food was very dry and cold and I found some hair in my food they really need to wear hair nets and they need to clean the place I use to be a custodian I know how to clean a store its not hard the employees are just lazy I guess would never go back please dont wast your money hear you wont be happy
Was so glad to find another Dickeys open in upstate NY. The BBQ here is about the best you can expect from a chain operation (very good) and the side sauces are excellent. We really missed the location off 81 north of Syracuse.
I have given this restaurant 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chances but not going to give it any more. Every time I go in either they are out of what I want, or the staff is doing their imitation of a turtle because they are so slow moving. Went in tonight, the family ahead of us had a large order. The manager some kid with a glorified unearned title- came out front several times. But despite an ever growing line just turned around and went to the back each time. After 10 minutes of standing in line we turned around to leave. Finally at that moment he decided to come out and help take orders. Too late by then, we were out the door - FOREVER!!!

Always friendly and always good. It’s fast food- so expect everything you would from mass-produced food lots of salt. It’s not going to be the same as a Deep South bbq pit. It’s good food, and for plattsburgh, it’s really good food.

I used to go here on a weekly basis , especially for the brisket and fried okra. It has gone WAY down hill. Food was old and poorly prepared. The super friendly staff is gone. So sad!
Now that Jen is back, this is once again a great place to eat. The quality of the prepared food is once again top notch after having hit rock bottom while she was gone.

2022-03-23I ordered via UberEats and the food arrived hot. I ordered 2 meat plate with ribs and pulled pork with a side of fried okra, mac and cheese with brisket chili. The entire meal taste horrible with the exception of the fried okra. However my stomach was hurting later and Dickey’s was the only food I attempted to eat. Between the fried okra and couple of bites of the rib and one taste of the Mac and cheese with chili brisket, didn’t sit well on my stomach.

2022-01-15This was by far one of worst dining experiences Ive ever had. The tv was so loud when we walked in that I could barely hear the people behind the counter. We also didnt hear them call our food out when it was ready and would have no idea if it werent for another diner telling us. The place smelled great but now I know not to let that BBQ smell fool me. My husband and I both got the beef brisket with waffle fries and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was flat out cold for both of us. There was a hair in my fries and the bun for the sandwich was far larger and thicker than the portion of meat on the sandwich. Oh and the cheese on the sandwich was unmelted and almost tough looking on the edges. I thought the BBQ sauce had okay flavor but it was very watery and vinegary. Now almost 12 hours later my stomach is bothering me (I usually have an iron stomach) and Im hoping I didnt get food poisoning of some kind. I dont typically leave any negative reviews so you know this was an exceptionally bad experience if Im taking the time to write this.

2022-04-08They have free ice cream, but since its free, theres a catch. The ice cream is vanilla, nothing wrong with that. However, vanilla isnt supposed to taste like pure tap water, but it goes swimmingly with the cardboard cones.

2019-08-02Came here on a day trip to Plattsburgh with my fiance. Pulled up and saw it was in a little plaza so I was hesitant to eat here... Im glad I did though! The gentlemen working asked if we had been here before we responded that we havent and he happily volunteered to break down all the menu options in good detail (even down to how many ounces of meat per serving). I got the two meat plate with pulled pork and beef brisket, they pulled out a nice chunk of meat and cut it right in front of me! Super fresh and tender with great flavor! My fiance got the monday special and loved the size of the sandwich. The sides were flavorful and of good portions. We were himming and hahing about getting a blondie for dessert, when the cashier chimed in and said Im not just saying this but those are the best blondies Ive ever had, I put some ice cream on them I said sold we will take some ice cream also, she then explained that soft serve vanilla ice cream is complimentary!!! Thats right its free you get a cone and serve yourself free ice cream!? The service was very pleasant and welcoming and the food was very juicy and full of flavor. The price was surprisingly low coming in at 30 bucks. For bbq food thats cheaper by a long shot than what I expected. All in all very glad we came here for dinner and we will definitely come to Plattsburgh (a two and a half hour drive for us) again to eat here:)

2019-12-16Great BBQ.. right in Plattsburgh. Check out the pulled pork and ribs and sandwiches. Highly recommended
