Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in other cities:
Honestly my favorite thing about this place is the portions. So often you go to a good BBQ place, drop a pretty penny, and get small sandwich and a side. But here your drop, well still a pretty penny, but you get your moneys worth. The food was pretty good too, and the sides didnt slack off either, even the dessert was good. Add in a good beer selection and friendly staff and this place is definitely worth stopping by.
Brought someone from STL that didnt know what to expect... he was seriously NOT disappointed! The ribs fell off the bone 🤤 we got the sweetheart special for $30+ which included a full rack of ribs and 4 sides (fries, side salad not pictured, bbq fried rice, corn) and the bbq nachos with pulled pork! The flavor for everything was out of this world! Was glad I could finally make it to the restaurant after having it for so many years at the NYS Fair 😀
The BRISKET, CORN, and MAC AND CHEESE was delicious. The BRISKET had a perfect pink smoke ring around it😋😍The SLIDERS were ok. The BRISKET was entirely too thick for the little buns. CHOPPED BRISKET or thinly SLICED BRISKET would have been a better compliment. This was an extremely busy night and one of the few restaurants open downtown Buffalo, NY. They accommodated a last minute 9pm reservation and cleared a table for us. They get ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I thoroughly enjoyed this place! We decided to go here based on some other really good reviews and it lived up to the expectation for sure. It wasnt crowded at all and we got a table right away. Our server was friendly and prompt which I appreciated. The food was absolutely fantastic! I had the BBS and my daughter and her Dad had the pulled pork sandwich which was also great. We had fries, mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese as our sides and they were all really good especially the mashed with gravy. The portion sizes were large and I didnt think Id be able to finish my meal but honestly, the brisket was so melt in your mouth amazing that I ended up eating every last bite! If youre looking for good BBQ in the city, definitely try this place out. We will be returning for sure!!
This place is A+. Easy to make a reservation right on the website. Great customer service. Great beer selection. Most difficult thing is parking. We took the train from Key Bank Center down to fountain plaza and walked over. Food is fresh. Sides are amazing. Cant go wrong with a dinner at Dino.
Sampler platter Ribs wow jucy tender sweet savory sauce baked on just the way I love it. Moist tender pulled pork and brisket. A ton of flavor. I wasnt sure about the beans at first but hard describe just damn good!! Greens had a sweetness to them absolutely perfect. Ended with a yummy cornbread.I ordered 3 piece wings just to try. Though they were very meaty and had a good smoke to them. The skin was rubbery I couldnt finish them. I think if they did a good flash fry could be much better. But everyone is different which is what makes the ing world so interesting. But the RIBS, PORK, BRISKET, BEANS AND Greens Top notch!! And great serving size.
My wife liked the ribs. I had the 2 meat, ribs and brisket. I found the brisket a little dry and the ribs not quite tender. The BBQ beef fried rice and the Harlem Potato Salad were both a hit for us. Ive bern to Syracuse and Rochester. BTW, I truly hope they bring back the sausage and onion soup someday!
Always great food! Portions are really good and quality is top notch. My wife and I went for a friends birthday dinner and the staff are always accommodating and friendly. They even stored our friends birthday cupcakes in their fridge. When we were ready for them they even added candles for us! Super friendly everytime!
I wish I wouldve taken pictures of the food here because it was fantastic. Everything we ate was really good. The service couldve been better as it was our waitress who was very slow and couldve cared less that it was our first time ever there. The other thing was they claim their dessert is all in house made, meanwhile you could see part of the kitchen where they pulled the cheesecake from the fridge and it literally looked like a box bought from the store with the papers separating each slice and they added whip cream on the top. Other than that the food got this rating a 4star. The service lost a star because of how slow she was and couldve cared less to even be there.
Please go eat here!! Its so awesome!! The ONLY drawback I could find to this place was paying for parking! Our server, Tom, was so funny and a great personality. Being from the south,we were wondering if they would have sweet tea--they did! Everything here is made from scratch and -wow! You can certainly tell it! The full rack of ribs, Bacon deluxe sandwich, and OG chicken breast sandwiches all with handmade french fries, Harlem potato salad, and cajun corn is what we had. Please bring this restaurant to NC!
My family and I traveled to Buffalo NY for a wedding. The Dino BBQ was close by so we stopped in for lunch. Salad-yummy, pork skit-yummy, burger- yummy. We enjoyed the food so much, we were back for dinner the next day! It’s all super yummy. I definitely recommend Dino BBQ !
Just not good. Ordered my meal to-go and staff was nice. My brisket had NO flavor and looked like it had been sitting out for 2 days. Could barely finish 5 bites of it. It just didn’t look right. The meat was a weird color and texture.. Baked beans had an odd flavor, Mac n cheese was meh. Thank God for the cornbread or I’d have had no meal to eat. I’ve traveled the country 3 days a week for the last 12 years and I can tell you this is the most disappointing BBQ I’ve ever had.
The decor of Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is country style with vintages and the ambiance is relaxing & lively. The options on the menu do not have a good variety but decent enough for a BBQ place. We had their combo plate with briskets, ribs and wings to share. The portion was huge with reasonable price. Our favorite was the ribs, it was grilled tender and flavorful. However, their briskets were a little overcooked and dry.Their safety procedures during COVID-19 was in high standard that we felt comfortable to dine in. Overall, the experience was great and we definitely will visit if we see any their locations around.
Id only ever been to the Rochester location, and felt as though they offered larger portion sizes there (though Ill admit, it has been a while since Ive been). However, this location was perfect to have some quality food before seeing a show at Sheas. Overall a good experience!
Had lunch here today I have to tell you I’m impressed with the amazing staff and the food was so good Sara had pulled pork and fresh cut fries it was excellent and for me the pulled pork philly cheese steak style and potato salad and AK chili it was to much to eat but I couldn’t stop 😂 I would highly recommend you get downtown and try some for yourself!!!
Bro! I can truly say the high ratings here are honestly legit now let me tell ya compared to their next door competitors with the Nola. I take my friends and family here every chance I get and the food and service here is truly dinomite if you will. Whodve known dinosaur could be this delicious in every aspect of the way. Everything here is clean, fresh and pristine. I used to work in a kitchen so I know great service when I see it. I recommend all customers go here not to beat up on Nola but Nolas ratings is a total fraud in my opinion noting all the things Ive experienced there is up to whoever dares go there. Best you read their reviews first. Just saying. In any event, keep up the great work Dinosaur, you rock!!
The food was sub par at best. I didnt receive a warm invitation when picking up my order. A biracial girl in the back was very rude along with the white male that refused to deal with me even though he was already at the counter. I spent $90 on a order for me to get treated like scum. It was a African American young lady at the door who was truly pleasant. But me picking up my online order last night was mostly a nightmare. The food was ok and cold but I probably wont come back because of your employees in the back. They made me feel like I was undeserving of their attention and help. Not looking for anything free, just hurt and highly disappointed that we still let rude and nasty people work in food service.
I was just told it wouldnt safe for my son to eat here due to his tree nut and sesame seed allergies. Apparently, there are pecans and sesame seeds that are just on the line so cross-contamination is a risk. We can find another place, but I thought Id let other food allergy folks know, in case its helpful. Love Dinosaur sauce but guess well just enjoy it at home.
As a first time visitor for this location, I’d say the experience was absolutely fantastic. Everything is home made. Their bbq sauce is really good. One is spicy and the other one is original. Their brisket was delicious. It can be more juicy but satisfying quality. Rib was good too. Wings were fantastic. Most of their side dishes are good but DO NOT order chilli. That’s the only one I didn’t like. Server was kind and explained every detail of the menu as it was our first time visiting. My recommendation for side dish is Cajun Corn. Loved it. Today was holiday so didn’t have to pay parking but plenty spots for parking but you need to pay.
This was my first time going to Dinosaur and I can say I wasnt disappointed. Made a reservation and they had our table ready when we got there. We had a great server, tho I dont think I ever caught her name unfortunately. When we ordered our appetizers were deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes. The deviled eggs were pretty good, there was a little to much of something, maybe paprika? Im sure sure, but one big issue Is that they were literally freezing cold. They were very hard to eat in terms of how cold are teeth were getting chewing. As for the fried green tomatoes, those were amazing. Dipping sauce or not, which was also delicious. Very nice crust and hearty thick bite. Now on to main courses, My younger brother got the bacon deluxe with fries. My mother got the pick your own combo(as did I, except I got 3 and she got 2.). Her picks were the ribs and drunken spicy shrimp. Sides were the simmered greens and mac&cheese. My 3 picks, the 1/4 chicken, ribs and brisket. My sides were the mashed potatoes and Cajun corn.Starting with the burger, it was really good according to my brother. From first bite to last he loved it and apparently that was his first time eating sweet pickles. His fries were also on point, tho he likes his less crisp so some added ketchup made all the difference for him. On my Moms side of things. Ill describe everything but the ribs. So the spicy shrimp to her was spicy but its not really. It was definitely good, but like the deviled eggs they were very cold. The greens were very nice, cooked to perfection and they had a slightly fruity taste mixed in with the delicious greens. We think it was pineapple or something similar. As for the mac&cheese is was pretty good, nice and cheesy and warm.My first bite was of the Cajun corn. It was pretty good on its own, nice smokey flavor to them and cooked firm and juicy. A little added salt and you get a good corn. Second bite was of the mashed potatoes, not sure the type of gravy, its flavor didnt really shine through. Overall a good soft mash Id order again. Also I forgot to mention the combos came with a small portion of cornbread. It was standard, a little dry, not much there honestly. Moving on to the main dishes. My first was the brisket, I had to know if they did it right and amazingly they did!I thrusted my fork at the first piece and without realizing it, the fork went clean through. The tenderness was nearly missed. I picked up the first piece and took a nice big bite. My goodness was that a juicy and masterful bite of brisket. Wonderful flavor and again the tenderness of how soft it was, if you had good brisket before than youll know. Next was the ribs, I wouldnt say there was anything special about them but thats certainly not knocking them. They make a damn good fall off the bone rib. And last the chicken, I had a dark meat chicken just in case. It was standard chicken, seemed lower quality than the others and a bit on the dry side. I personally wouldnt order it again since that was dark meat. Maybe a bad chicken day, who knows but them.In conclusion, our overall experience was a good one. Pretty good food, some amazing some not and great service and upbeat from what I seen. Definitely, gonna go back to try some more in the future! Ive also included pics of my plate and the apps for anyone interested.
What a great BBQ joint, the food is spectacular with a ton of flavour and texture. Got the platter, everything was cooked perfectly. The ribs had a great crust yet soft and moist. The brisket was so juicy and tender. The wings were perfectly smoked and a perfect size, watch out Anchor bar you got some friendly competition in the area. Our server Sandy was friendly and attentive. Came by often enough to make sure we were still ok but not so much were it was like shes trying to hurry us to get other patrons to sit. The seating is comfortable and the table is big enough to for the large portions your about to receive and still have enough room for everything else.Great food and service, will definitely come back.
Ordered takeout today. St. Louis ribs & brisket, BBQ beans, mashed potatoes & gravy, and creole deviled eggs. The meats had good smokey flavor nice smoke ring. I felt like there should have been more brisket though. I dont get the jalapeño on the brisket but the brisket is the best most tender I have had. So the jalapeño must be there for a reason. Lol. Didnt like the bbq beans to much. Tasted like pork and beans and Italian sausage. The mashed potatoes and gravy so good! Definitely recommend. The deviled eggs were awesome! Definitely recommend this BBQ place.
Dinosaur Bar-B-Que...its been about five years since Buffalo finally got their own. Ive been there many times but this last time that I went was just...the best its ever been. And its always been good. I recommend the chicken wings and the poutine, for sure. The ribs are great too. My favorite sides are the fries, the bbq rice and cole slaw. The vibe of the Dinosaur is very cool. It was once a film warehouse and the decor is reminiscent of that. There is also a good size bar that you can wait at for your table. Reservations are accepted and its a really good idea to make one since lots of people love to eat here. Also, the service has always been good, really great, friendly people working here. I would never hesitate to recommend this great restaurant. 🦕👍
Best wings and brisket! The wings are smoked and then grilled which give them an amazing flavour. The size of the wings is very generous, so if youre ordering another dish keep that in mind.Unfortunately service was slow (-1 Star), and when our waitress made it to our table she informed us that they are out of wings (at 8:00PM Sat). That was a bit odd, but we were told that they need another hour for the next batch. We left and came back, and they were worth it. I just wish the service was a little faster. But definitely try them out because the food is good.
Havent been too this one yet, but will. however, been to one in Syracuse many of times, along with other people such as Bayheim the coach of Syracuse basketball, former Mayor Lee Alexander, few biker club members from local chapters.Best Blues, best food in Syracuse has always been In Syracuse, barbecue dinosaur.Since the Early 70.
As a Latino from NYC, this wasn’t the best food. It’s good! But I’ve had better. But my friend did look at me in shock. She scraped her plate clean. So it’s a matter of how much food you’ve been exposed to and your pickiness. Great service and the decor is detailed and beautifully designed.
Pretty darn good BBQ. The group broadly ordered ribs, brisket, pulled pork and salmon and I personally enjoyed them all, in that order, in descending preference. To be clear, though, even the salmon was pretty great. In terms of sides, the cajun corn and the black beans and rice stood out.Service was good and the environment was nice. It was a great meal!
I went to Buffalo, NY for a quick day trip. I knew that I wanted to have a nice dinner before heading back home to Canada, so I dropped by here which wasnt far from the border. Oh, what an amazing choice that was! The food was amazing! I wanted so many items, but decided to go with what the server recommended. I had the chili nachos and the burger with fries and rice. It was all super good. The overall atmosphere is family-friendly, and there are certainly lots of people which isnt bad at all. My only complaint was how long it took for me to get seated, and how long it took for my server to come and take my order! I had to ask multiple times for my server. Frankly, for that I wanted to give less tip, but they only gave 3 options which were (18, 20, 22%) - in Ontario, its 10, 15, or 20. Why are tips so high in NY? Anyways, had a good time, and can definitely recommend this place to others.
Ive been here many times in the past, but took a break after having my guest taste the food. Had a go at the pull pork sandwich today and have to say the flavor stays the same. Thats good, so you know what youll be served everytime . The fries are average as before but the BBQ pork is good, with the added slaw on the Carolina order they make I give it a 4 stars, the brisket also. The chicken needs some work, but nobody is perfect. The service is good, quick and the food is at room temperature as in past visits. The place assays fills up fast after five pm so get there early.Good job, but not outstanding. Great atmosphair , good fast service. Food is ready to go. The rest room for guys seems better equipped and tidy.
Uber driver recommended this restaurant as one of the best barbecues. Very disappointed in quality of the food. The ribs were over cooked on the outside and super dry on the inside. Barbecue sauce was not to my liking but the habanero mango barbecue sauce was a nice surprise. The cornbread was good because it allowed you to eat the food. Without the cornbread we definitely would not have finished. The coleslaw had WAYYYY too much pepper. The balance of the coleslaw, ribs, and cornbread enabled us to finish and not waste the food. Don’t recommend this spot.
I’ve been to the one in Rochester and in Syracuse, and this location as well did not disappoint and was on par! We were treated very well and had the sweetest server. Matika was very good to is, extremely helpful, and made dinner a great part of this trip. Food was amazing and done right, so good you can still taste the smoke. Excellent BBQ and the prices weren’t bad at all. Large servings too. Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is an Excellent restaurant, great atmosphere clean and welcoming. Recommend it if you’re near or passing through like I was
Just straight up bad. Ribs over smoked and tasted like they smoked a week ago, chicken was so dry i could barely chew it and it was dark meat. The brisket was ice cold, tender but had weird flavour to it. The fried rice was good though... maybe they should change to a Chinese restaurant. It was really disappointing.
A great bbq location where the service is as great as the food. I usually study the menu before arriving and I still have a tough time deciding what to get, but on the bright side I know it will be a total win. The pick two option is very filling and the sides are delicious.Their wings are amazing and the garlic chipotle sauce is total flavor country. I generally enjoy blue cheese with wings, but it is a pity to eclipse the flavor of their wing sauce. No problems in the dining experience though next time I plan to try something different and save some room for dessert.
We came to Buffalo for the TOOL concert at Key Bank Center and picked Dinosaure BBQ as our pre show dinner spot. Not knowing if they would be busy, we made reservations for 4:15. Parking was a bit filled up on the street so we used the parking lot right next door for a 5.00 charge, that was convenient.Once we made it inside we were greeted by a friendly, prompt hostess, reservations make everything so much quicker. we were seated and our server was sociable, responsive, and knowledable to the menue, he was also Hype to the atmosphere DBBQ offers. Our server made our experience mello and enjoyable. I would say 4:15 on a none game day football evening was great timeing for us.My daughter and I both orderd the pulled pork sammy Memphis style, she the mashed potatoes / gravy and mac and cheese and I with mashed potatoes/gravy and the greens. Mashed potatoes and gravy is a hit with us, the greens were tasty and not at all bitter. We were overall pleased with our meal, service, and atmosphere at this DBBQ location. We really liked the flannel DBBQ shirts for sale, sweet choice in color flannel pattern and the lil dinosaure on back. We did not buy one, but maybe next time.My only dissatisfaction would be my desert, I orderd the key lime pie, to go, as a pre show sweet treat, well it was not key lime pie, it was cheese cake, not a favorite, I would have eaten it, but it was spoiled or a bit off in color and smell. Overall good spot to eat some BBQ and chill before a show or just to have some BBQ with your favorite people.2/27/22 TOOL AND SOME TASTY BBQ WITH MY ELDEST DAUGHTER. Thank you dinosaur BBQ for filling our bellies and providing the starting point to a great night in Buffalo N.Y.
Place is very nice and has a lot of parking for a downtown restaurant. I got the sampler plate and I must say all the BBQ was very good. The Mac and cheese side was meh and the coleslaw was good tasting but too coarse for my taste. Service was slow, but that was probably due to late Sunday lunchtime staffing. Our server was nice older gentlemen who really tried to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Overall price seemed ok but wasn’t good enough for 5 stars, though.
Barbecue is a devisive topic, so take this with a grain of salt. Try it, youll probably like it more than I did as these are me problems, not dino problems. With that said, it was thoroughly mediocre.Sauces out were the original, which was overly clove/allspice tasting for the supposed basic sauce, and the wango habanero which tasted like sugar and apple cider vinegar that had some hot pepper in it.The mac and cheese, a barbecue staple, was very poor as though the sauce had broken or had been partially absorbed. Texture was off, and it was very mild. The stewed mixed greens with smoked turkey was very good, although this is the first time Ive encountered diced carrots in it. I was very happy to see this on the menu over the typical green beans and bacon that other places tend to have.Otherwise, everything else was very run of the mill. The portions were good for the price, the service was good for how packed it was, and nothing was inedible or anything outlandish like that - just nothing that Im going to think about a week from or wish I was in the area for longer to try on another night.Im just more used to Carolina / Texas styles of bbq and this just wasnt to my desires.
Food was amazing. Little spicy for those who can’t handle it but all in all was great! Atmosphere was 10/10. Huge portions great prices! Corn bread was delicious too! Even kids meals were insane! Yes you pay to park but the lot is right next to the restaurant so don’t let that intimidate you. We are from Ohio and came to see Niagara Falls and so thankful we drove to Buffalo for dinner!!! Kiddos to staff! Hard to find an overall great dining experience anymore!
Dinosaur BBQ is one of my top choices for my birthday dinner every year. Yesterday was my birthday, and I picked takeout from Dino so we ordered a few pulled pork sandwich platters. As per usual, everything was incredible. I got the Carolina pulled pork sandwich, which comes topped with coleslaw. For sides I opted for mashed potatoes and gravy which are to die for, and something I’ve never tried on their menu, the fried rice with bbq meats. Omg, so good. I wish I had tried it sooner. It’s been less than 24 hours and I want more. The veggies in the rice were crisp and not soggy and the meat didn’t seem like it was old or like they use scraps or the leftover pieces from trimming the meat like some other restaurants do for their side dishes. My boyfriend got a regular pork sandwich with mac and cheese and fries. I was too busy scarfing down my meal to try any of his but I am more than aware that both the mac and cheese and the fries are incredible. The kicker though— I asked for extra extra extra pickles. Like, I wanted A LOT of pickles. They gave me a whole takeout container full!! They also gave me a coupon for a dessert or appetizer since it was my birthday. They even gave me a sweet little note. How fun! Thanks Dino for an awesome birthday dinner!!!
Went on a busy Saturday night. Service was very good. Food was very good also. I did notice that the menu appears to be getting smaller. When they first opened there was a lot more variety on the menu. Not sure why the menu has been reduced. Anyways, still a good BBQ joint. Definitely recommend.
Simply the best BBQ/smoke house ribs, chicken, brisket and pulled pork...amazing smokey flavor cooked to perfection. Drove from Canada to have it and it was totally worth the effort. If you are in Buffalo or Syercues NY a must try. Great staff and good price and large portions.
We came down to Buffalo for the night and came here (by a suggestion from the hotel front desk) and we had a great meal!We had the Sweetheart Rib Meal. Full rack of Ribs with 4 sides for $30 USD. Great deal and very filling. Ribs were cooked perfectly. Fall off the bone. Sides were fries, beans, potato salad and homemade apple sauce. We had the cheesecake and peanut butter pies for dessert. Very good too. Coffee was good too.
I really enjoyed Buffalo, New York. We decided wed try 🦕 Dinosaur Bar-b-que for brunch. The food was well served and tasty at that .The employees were really nice and really helpful . Nice place really cozy atmosphere , great employees all with smiles that was a easy plus and delicious food . What more could you ask for ? Loved it 😊
The ribs and brisket are really on point here. Most southern bbq places outside of the south never seem to get their ribs and brisket right. The ribs are too dry, the brisket has no juice. This place is an exception. BY FAR the most moist and juicy ribs and brisket I have had outside of the south. Im a huge bbq fan, believe me when I say they cook these items just right. The Devils Duel wings are also really well balanced. Theyre not just an over abundance of chilli powder like most places. Its a really well balanced and smooth hot that creeps up like a good hot wing should. Theyre really hot, but very well balanced and enjoyable. Not the kind that burn your insides and send you to the toilet after.
Love the design of the restaurant. Our waitress was extremely nice. I had the pick 3 which was bbq brisket, bbq ribs, chicken wings, mac n cheese and clam chowder. The soup was really good so was all the other food. Brisket was extremely tender. I also ordered a bloody Mary but I didnt like it much. Ive had better. Would definitely recommend.
I have visited this place three times. The first two times there was an extremely long wait. It was dinner time. My latest visit was for lunch midweek, there was no wait at all. That being said, the food is definitely worth a long wait. The staff is fantastic especially Andrew who was the sweetest and a very attentive server.
Calling this visit a happy disappointment, my ribs we meaty, succulent and delicious, however my side dishes and my of my familys side dishes were lukewarm or rather colder than a hit side dish should be. Mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, greens, chili... All warm or closer to chilled. Yuck, made our experience lackluster.
It’s hard to find good BBQ these days as many of the former leader of BBQ have suffered because of COVID. With that said I ordered some classics tonight including their “Mr Crispy” and 3 meat combo with Cheddar jalapeño sausage, prime brisket, and pulled pork. The MrCrispy was fabulous with the slaw on top to help keep it tasting moist and flavorful and I will be ordering that again. However as for the “3 meat combo” I wouldn’t be able to tell you how any of it was as they forgot to make it or give it to the driver!? So unfortunately I paid 45$ for a sandwich and nothing else. To tell you I feel ripped off is an understatement.Edit: I received a response from a managing partner telling me because I used DoorDash it’s not there fault at all. Instead of trying to investigate the problem they just want to push it off on someone else it seems.
One word...Awesome! Big shout out to Chooch and Shane and the team for making out visit a memorable experience. The rib, chicken, Brisket combo was delightful. Even the fries were fresh cut and crispy. Great game atmosphere for the Buffalo Bills game also. Overall great time. I highly recommend this be a stop if you are in the Buffalo area.
Unbelievable barbecue! In this part of the country good barbecue can be harder to come by. We made a trip from Akron OH with some friends just to visit Dinosaur Barbecue. What a great experience! The food is unreal. We ate and took home more so we could eat it again. I loved the pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. The barbecue fried rice side is unreal, order extra!!
Stopped in for lunch with our family of 5 on our way back across I-90. Service was exceptional (12/10) and the food was beyond expectations, also 12/10! Shared the wings, brisket and several sides. Best BBQ and wings the family has ever had. We will definitely make the trek over to Buffalo when we are back in the area next summer. Highly recommend.
My wife and I visited while on a weekend getaway. Some of the best BBQ I have ever had. We both had the pulled pork cheese steak. Their pork was perfectly tender, moist, and flavorful, and not fatty like Ive had at too many other places. Their sauce was outstanding and the pickled jalapenos really put it over the top. Our server, Colleen, was great and made some excellent suggestions. The next time were in Buffalo, well definitely be back!
We had gone to the one in Syracuse a few years ago and it was fantastic. This one was just okay. I remember being wowed before so this was a let down. Maybe it was what I ordered, but the food was warm, not hot, and the flavor was lacking. Our waitress was attentive and nice so we may give it another try in the future.
Food was actually great service was pretty quick and also very polite , prices are reasonable. Bad part is no parking, and the place inside is a dump. I dont mean theyre old wood reclaimed barn look. I mean the tables werent wiped down. The floor was extremely sticky. The dining area smelled moldy and just nasty. My silver wear had food stuck to the fork. Not water stains or blemishes no I mean actual food stuck to it. Will likely never be back. Sad part is they do have great food at even better prices and the server was awesome.
Basically the best BBQ anywhere I’ve ever been. My sister used to live in Buffalo and now that she’s down south I missed this place so much we came from Toronto for our fix!!!! Worth the 2 hour drive. Get the pulled pork, ribs and chicken with mac & cheese and fries then thank me later!
My wife and I stoped in for a late lunch about 2oclock. We split an assortment plate that consisted of pulled pork. brisket. Half chicken. Baked beans. French fries. And corn bread. Everything was delicious and made it to the table quickly the waitress was very pleasant and the beer was the perfect thing to pair with such a delicious meal. I would recommend this place for anybody looking for a fun spot downtown Buffalo.
Came here on a Friday night with a party of six, it was fairly busy. They had a live band playing so chatting amongst ourselves was a bit hard. We ordered the family platter, which came with a while chicken, rack of ribs, corn bread, we got half brisket and half pulled pork. For our three side dishes we got mac ncheese, chipotle corn, and mashed potatoes. My personal favourite were the ribs. Super flavourful and very tender. I found the brisket to be more fat than actual meat, and the pulled pork wasnt as tender as I would have thought it would be. From our party, the concensus was that the chipotle corn was the best side dish. Corn kernels that were cooked in butter and chipotle seasoning. We found the mac ncheese to be a bit too greasy for our standards. Overall, for a party of six, the total was $85ish which isnt that bad, considering the amount of food you get.I think next time when I am back again I would get the single order with the sides.
My families favorite restaurant and we probably go there too much. Drinks are tasty and the food is delicious. I have yet to try something on the menu I didnt love. The kids portions are huge for the small price. My wife absolutely loves the fried green tomatoes and the mr crisp chicken sandwich. I love the brisket and the new cheddar jalapeno sausage. Their Mac n cheese is low key the best in the state, even our 1 and 3 year Olds devour it.
I always enjoy the trio platter! It was excellent. The place was very clean, and they had multiple games on all the big screens at the bar. If I didnt have to go to work, I would have camped out there for a while. The service was excellent, friendly and fast. I had never had bbq fried rice, which was pretty good. The starter salad was very good and a generous portion. The ribs were my favorite though. I hope to be back before long.
Today was my first time visiting and I must say.....this place has by far has the best wings Ive ever had Period! The beef brisket was absolutely mouth watering. The service was great. The food was cooked in a timely fashion. Andrew was super helpful and was so gracious in helping me with my choices. He was patient and kind. I will definitely make a future visit dining in instead of take out. All the reviews that I read before I made my choice today were absolutely true. If you havent tried this place.... you must!
Never been (been coming for 4 years )disappointed but today was a joke, ordered a nice decent size meal, ordered wings but their wings were just raw, not pink but raw- chewi, called the restaurant but lady on the phone was just not professional as was interrupting me every single time, was trying to convince me that thats how they are, lady trust me wings cannot be eaten like that.Im sorry but your service every single time is just not the best.
I’ve been to Dinosaur in Syracuse (the original), Rochester, and Buffalo. All are amazing (although I wish Buffalo had Mac Salad like Syracuse does). The food does not disappoint. The atmosphere is unique. The tap selection is wide. Try the BBS sandwich - you won’t be disappointed!
The ambiance was so cool...did you know the building was used by universal studios to store stuff? Cool history! Felt like I was in the south. Star of the show was the pork and cornbread. I personally wasnt a fan of the mac and cheese, but that is only my opinion. Would definitely head back again.
My wife has a gluten allergy and theyre definitely a gluten free friendly place. Besides a separate menu highlighting what is gluten free, they have a different colored plate which was explained to alert staff of an allergy for glove changing and such. Besides being a thoughtful consideration and letting you know an allergy is taken seriously, it gives peace of mind there shouldnt be cross-contamination.The food was good and kid portions were huge. Will be happy to return.
Dinosaur Bar-B-Que catered our wedding and was absolutely incredible! Sarah has been outstanding to work with over the past 8 months. The staff was terrific! The food was excellent. We got many compliments about how great the food was from our guests. When they were done at the end of the night they did a terrific job cleaning up their work area and packaging up the leftovers. The venue was very pleased with how well they did picking up! They even left us a great wedding gift of barbecue sauce and a cookbook! We are forever grateful for making our day special! ❤️ Kayla and Matt
When we arrived, 2 hours before close, they told us it would be a 30-45 minute wait. Before it was our time to eat we noticed people complaining as they exited. We asked what had happened and they responded the restaurant ran out of food. We then went to check on our reservation and the host confirmed the restaurant had no more entrees and only had minimal sides to offer. They could not promise us any food by the time we sat down to eat. The place was packed. I hear the food is really good but I guess Ill never know.
I was extremely disappointed in this restaurant. The food wasnt appetizing at all, too salty. I understand its supposed to be somewhat southern cooking, but nowhere near any southern cooking Ive tasted. The place was empty which should have been a signal, but we were hungry and hoping for a wonderful experience as we always get from sister raunt in Syracuse. Which by the way is fantastic. I will admit that the sweet tea was perfect, but unfortunately I only experienced 1 glass because our waitress literally disappeared after serving our drinks, and returned after we completed eating. I will never again return to this spot, but will enjoy sister raunt in Syracuse.

2022-02-26Service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable regarding the food choices. He was very quick and efficient. Have to pay for parking unless you can get a spot on the street. Food was okay. Ribs were nice and tender except for one piece was kind of hard. Cornbread and Mac & cheese wasnt the best but it was still okay. I was only really interested in the ribs and salad anyway. Was torn between ordering the Cajun catfish or ribs when I first arrived.

2022-07-10Stopped in after Buffalo Bison game. Fried Green Tomatoes are yummy! Ordered 3 meat combo. Sides were not as hot as we prefer so sent them back. Without even asking they adjusted our bill. The food was so good that we didn’t care about it not being as hot as we like. Great customer service

2022-07-04The perfect gateway to experiencing American BBQ.Chicken, Ribs, Brisket, Mac n’Cheese, Mashed Potatoes and gravy, Americans know what the heart wants. As a Canadian, BBQ spots like this are rare, so when we’ve come down to Buffalo for the last two months, we’ve made it a mission to come here. The first time we came here was on a whim as we drove back from New York City and wow was it amazing. After driving for so long, this meal did wonders. The Mac n’Cheese is like nothing I’ve had in Canada and wish more restaurants up here did like Americans make it. The mashed potatoes and gravy was just as good, man you Americans do sides justice. As for the meat, I can’t say enough good things. The ribs were excellent, like rib festival type of good. The brisket and pulled pork went really well with the house BBQ sauce. One downside was the chicken, we just felt that compared to the other options it just did not keep up in terms of flavour. The ambience and vibe of the restaurant is what you would envision an American BBQ spot would look like. The service is alright, some servers we’ve had are courteous and check up on us, while some drop menus on the table and walk away without a word.We reviewed it a 4/5 sheerly because upon our second visit to here, we felt that the food was just not as good as the first time all around. The sides and meat were all dryer this time, but the restaurant did seem to be much more busy so it can be slightly understandable.Overall, give this place a shot, because when it’s good, it’s really good.

2022-04-20A great spot for some BBQ!The combo platter came with two choices of meat, two sides, and cornbread. The chicken was juicy and had a great smokey flavor. The brisket was amazing - juicy, tender, and flavorful. This place does amazing brisket. Mashed potatoes were great and the BBQ fried rice was delicious. The half rack of ribs were decent. Unfortunately they werent the juiciest. Didnt quite fall off the bone. But it wasnt too dry either. I think the BBQ saved the ribs. The fries and the Mac and cheese were really good! Our bartender/waiter was really helpful and attentive. Great service!

2022-05-02Love the vibe and environment of this establishment. They dont have a cocktail list but do have a full bar. We took our servers advice on the soup of the day, and I also got wings and a roast beef sandwich. Food came out quickly and was very good. All the staff we interacted with was very nice and helpful.

2022-01-04Passing through and decided to try based on their online menu. Great choice!! We started with 3 appetizers. Creole deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes, and the Dino poutine. All were good but the poutine was especially excellent. I ordered the bbs sandwich which is prime brisket, bacon, and Swiss cheese. I got Harlem potato salad and Cajun corn as my sides. My daughter got the pick 3 of chicken, ribs, and pork. And her boyfriend ordered the brisket sandwich. Everything came out hot and tasty. Lots of food so we had to get to go boxes. My daughter wanted to try their pie; she chose the peanut butter pie. Wow it was amazing! So thick and real whipped cream! Try it out, you wont be disappointed!

2022-06-05Saturday lunch. Great experience! Friendly staff (Sunlee i think). Great service and fabulous food. The deviled eggs were great. Went with the sampler plate with cajun corn snd bbq rice as sides. Substantial portions. No complaints or critique at all.
