Dirty Taco Tequila in other cities:
The food and drinks are amazing here! This place never disappoints. Our server Pete was great! However, they need to do something about the foot traffic between inside and outside. We were freezing the whole time we were here! The door kept closing and opening and it was miserable. We asked if they can close the door and the manager rolled his eyes and didn’t close the door. Very rude. No one should be freezing when they’re trying to enjoy their meal. I’m disappointed about this, but will be back when it is warmer out!
Great staff! Its a busy place so if your in a rush order and pick it up. Those with a little patience can expect great service, delicious food with a menu that has something for everyone even our vegan child. It is a tequila based bar which I loved extra and some mexican beer. They have all your favorite margaritas. I recommend the craft versions, or just a spicy one. Share share and share. The portions are good and decent in size. Just do me a favor & save room for the Italian cannoli nachos. You will love me for that tip.
What a disappointment. Food was unimaginably bad for a place that Ive heard nothing but good things about.Appetizer: Asian Style Nachos. Personally, I am a huge fan of adding Asian flare to just about anything, but my God did they butcher these nachos. Short rib nachos with peanut sauce. The peanut sauce was the thickest peanut sauce Ive ever had and the nachos were drowning in it. It was like eating peanut butter nachos. YuckTaco 1: fried chicken Taco. Sounds delicious. Wrong. A Taco comprised of overpowering flavors that do not blend well together. Complete failure and honestly a disgrace to fried chicken and tacos.Taco 2: chicken tingas. Not the worst Taco I ever had, but the chicken was extremely dry.Drink: Classic Marg. Marg was awful. Either the bartender failed to put any sour mix or it was seriously diluted. Also, the bartender did not ask if I wanted any salt on the rim.. not a big deal and it was partly my fault for not specifying. Watermelon Margarita wasnt half bad.Final Verdict: avoid this place at all costs. All of their tacos seem to incorporate a bunch of different flavors that compete with each other and do not work. The only reason I gave this place two stars was because of the atmosphere. Great music with a cool vibe.
It was our first time and we loved the tacos. The Birria tacos are to die for!!! Service is great! Nina and Kerran, 2 servers, who came out and surprised us with Dirty shots and churros dessert, because it was our first time eating here, were so nice!! For taco overs out there, this is the place to have them!!
Amazing experience!! our server nick was very attentive, even with all the bustle. the owner tom came by to check on us too, great service! the food was amazing, blown away by the short rib taco and the baja fish taco! desserts were great as well! definitely coming back!
Food was very good I would recommend the street corn, Mac and cheese, queso was good, carne asada taco. I was not a fan of the cheeseburger taco. You might want the dressing on the side of your not a big fan of heavy cream sauce, can be a bit over powering. I took some off and was good!! The rice was a little dry. The strawberry lemonade is good real fruit or mix inside. The churros are pretty good too. If your vegan or vegetarian the three choices to try are the cauliflower brussel sprouts or chorizo. Love the outdoor atmosphere.
ARRIVE EARLIER THAN YOU EXPECT TO EAT. Place opens at 3, was there 15 minutes before and there was already a line forming. We were fortunate enough to get a parking spot and get a table immediately. The waiter was amazing. Told us their secret menu items and could figure out what tacos we would like the most. I personally enjoyed the Korean Short Rib with kimchi, and my friend enjoyed the Vietnamese Shrimp taco. The drinks and food were great, and it lives up to the wait and hype.
Hip little place, very creative menu, pretty attentive staff, but the wait is ridiculous (because its small and trendy), and the food didnt really justify it for me. We tried five or six different (very creative) tacos, and only one really impressed me (the shredded Korean short ribs). The Asian nachos were good, but not out of this world.
First time here and was definitely amazed I never knew about this spot. The food was delicious and the staff was very helpful. Drinks were good and the price wasnt bad either. Will be coming here again. Just be mindful that the wait time can get long. We got there at 5pm and didnt have to wait but by 6pm it got really busy.
First time here and did not disappoint! After hearing raves on a FB group, I’ve been anxious to try this place. It was jamming when we got here with a projected wait of an hour. Lucky us, seats at the bar were open. Love the vibe, the margaritas and the food. The pan seared chicken dumplings, guacamole and homemade chips and the Vietnamese shrimp tacos were my favorites. The free shot of coffee tequila was a nice bonus. Great spot for a relaxed summer evening.
Tacos and Tacos and Margaritas.... In all of New York I have to say this is one of the best quality near to real Mexican Tacos i have eaten. Yes i have eaten in Mexico actual Tacos. There quality here is probably the closest to it. Aside from that the Guacamole is next level. Last but not least Tres Leches is on the level after next. Ive only eaten one other Tres Leches in NY that is worthy but this one surpasses it.
Reading the reviews, I was expecting something that rivals the street tacos of Los Angeles. The tacos were good, albeit a bit overpriced, but didnt remind me of my years in LA. I tried the Carne Asada and Chimichurri Skirt Steak tacos. Id say the Chimichurri was the best of the two. There is a large selection of tacos, so Ill have to come back and try others (read: fish tacos). The sides were tasty. We really liked the street fries and the sweet plantains with the lime crema were perfect. The elote just wasnt right. Maybe they didnt use Tajin. Still tasty roasted corn, but I wouldnt call this Mexican street corn. The salsa with the chips and salsa outshined the chips. Id be willing to buy a jar of their salsa. The women I went with really raved about the drinks, especially the tequila.Service was great. The staff were on their game. I couldnt tell you their names, as I couldnt hear what they told me.My ears are still ringing. The overall noise level of this place is high. And everyone seems to be talking louder to overcome the room noise, as they become inebriated.
Didn’t have to wait long to get seated. The server came over pretty fast. Explained the menu to us due to it being my first time. The music is a little loud couldn’t hear each other talking. It’s a small area. No separations between tables. Only have to wear a mask to get in. Doesn’t require COVID 19 Vaccine Card. Overall the food was good. The rice was a little grainy and they put corn in it. The prices were questionable. Don’t think I will be visiting anytime soon. But was a great experience and will tell people about it.
Super busy on a Friday, had about a 50 minute wait for a table around 9 pm. Service was great though including the guys running the door and the front of house staff. Food is a bit pricey ($5-6 per single taco, with two tortillas) for the portions but was good. The chips were great. Wasnt a total fan of their queso but the salsa was amazing.
Unfortunately the food was good but the service was super bad the food came out in a matter of four minutes they wanted to take us out super fast we werent there even for 40 minutes and they already wanted us to leave so they could seat other people they didnt bring us the drink they took us the tacos that were not they brought us another food from another table the waitress walked with our dessert to another table what I saw is that they want to make a quick buck and they really dont care about customer service..
Probably my favorite tacos on long island, up there with west coast places. I dont know what pepper theyre using in the spicey blood orange marg but its just the right heat to feel like its a long lasting tequila. The plantains are awesome, the sweet and spicey sauce drizzled on top of it is fantastic, and the house sauces are a perfect balance of a salsa verde and a hot habanero. I love this place.
I have been here 2 times before and the food is amazing. This time, I was even more impressed with the service I received. I had ordered 3 Vietnamese shrimp tacos and one Thai salmon taco for pick up. I neglected to fully double check my order until I got home and realized that they had given me 3 salmon and 1 shrimp instead. I called them and they immediately said they would deliver the 2 shrimp tacos to my house and arrived within a half hour. I was so impressed with the service and will order again. Food 10/10, service 10/10. I highly recommend them. Please tip generously
They dont take reservations so we had a bit of a wait, but it was totally worth it. Only about 9 or 10 tables in the restaurant but it looks like they purchased the restaurant across the street thankfully. I had a jerk chicken taco and Korean short rib taco and a classic margarita. Absolutely delicious. Best street tacos Ive ever had! Will be back for sure!
We were lucky to get a table with out waiting. The seating was private and appropriate with the Covid restrictions. The tacos we enjoyed were delicious and exceeded our expectations from the descriptions on the menu. Staff were very attentive and Dave our server was awesome. We ordered a mango margarita and it was the real deal. Love supporting local community and these guys are doing things the right way, we will be back.
There is no concern for quality of food or quality of customer service, only concern for making money. Tacos were overpriced, especially considering the meat was bland and they were sloppily thrown together. Staff rushed our group to close the bill, and stared at us passive aggressively until we felt so uncomfortable we got up and left. Despite the fact we had just ran up a generous tab and left a generous tip. Also despite the fact that there was no one waiting to be seated. I’ve waitressed for years and would have been fired over such careless service. Will not be returning for a mediocre taco here.
Have gone there since day one. Last night was terrible. We orders take out and when I started my order I was told it would be ready @ 730.By the time I finished it was moved to 8pm. Not a huge deal!I gave my order in the phone to someone who I had t on repeat it THREE TIMES. And it was still not correct. We ordered a Salad that comes with 2 sides. We asked for the Cod with no breading for Dietary reasons. Came with breadingOrdered the Baja Taco. The smallest piece of fish I have ever seenOrdered the 3 quesadilla and asked for guacamole No GuacamoleWe have taken out many times but this was the worst experience we have had there!!!
Excellent food, drinks & atmosphere! If you’re looking for a great time out and a change of pace this IS THE SPOT! Totally worth the wait & food is exceptional! Customer service is beyond, our waiter Dave was outstanding. Definitely try the Brussel sprout taco it was Insane! Not to mention the full tequila bar! What more could you ask for?!
Firstly, the food was delicious- my friend and I were both equally impressed as it was our first time trying Dirty Taco. But, our takeout experience was less than satisfactory. We ordered at 3pm and it wasn’t ready until after 4:30 which seemed to not make sense because we only ordered 4 veggie tacos. When we arrived we continued to wait at least 15 minutes past our pickup time. Finally, when our food was ready the takeout containers were not warm and neither was our food, which was also confusing because we were under the impression it was brought out to us as soon as it was ready. If our tacos were not as delicious as they were we would have been more upset. Be aware that when getting takeout, order much earlier than you plan to eat!
Great place and awesome food!!! Our server’s name was Nick and he was fantastic, a very hard worker, just like we were seeing with the other servers. Everyone helps each other out as well when it gets busy which is also good. They had outdoor seating because of social distancing which was nice because me and my boyfriend haven’t ate AT A RESTAURANT in god knows how long because of this pandemic (just like most people.) Anyways, the menu is quite large with many different options, I didn’t even know what to pick because everything looked so tasty. The food is a good portion, GREAT presentation, and fairly priced. Everything tasted AMAZING. 5 STARS *****
Best taco joint in town. Love the BBQ pulled pork taco. The highlight of their menu is the street fries. Hard to describe, but they are well seasoned with a “dirty sauce” that should be put in an IV. Family run shop with authentic people working there. Be ready for a long wait!
Made a reservation a few days in advance for a party of 5 for a birthday. The waiter was very accommodating giving us time to take in the cool ambiance and menu. The food was good I really like the street corn. I hinted to the waiter that it was a birthday and he brought out a cake along with the very friendly owner who made us feel like family. The desserts were phenomenal definitely recommend.
Loved my first experience with DT + T this evening! The service was on point, the food was delicious, and the cocktails were amazing. The manager, Jordan was such a great host, and our server Dave, was very attentive and even laughed at our corny jokes (Thanks Dave). If you havent tried them yet, youre totally missing out!
Small, crowded, loud obnoxious music that I would hardly call Mexican themed. More importantly the menu is complex. The tacos all have way too much ingredients going on. It was very difficult to find or create plain food for children and us for that matter. My wife and I also found that the food repeated on us for the next 12 hours. We are in our 30s. It would be tough to return based on that experience.
My family and I just went to Dirty Taco + Tequila for the first time! The customer service was amazing and so was the food!! My entire family loved each of their meals! Our server was Dave, he was so attentive and recommended such great food. With such a wide variety of choices. 10/10 recommended
First time : Amazing food. We did curb side pickup. All 16 tacos we ordered were perfect. Great value for cost as well. The tacos are very generous in size. Told 30 minute pick up but it was actually 50. Second time. Order and paid for 11 Tacos and only recieved 10. This time it was 90 minute pickup which was okay, not unexpected. Showed up a few minutes early and waited about 30 minutes (total time from order to pick up 115 minutes). Food was still good but I will be hesitant to do a pickup order again especially on a holiday weekend.
My husband and i were looking for a fun casual date. I had been to Dirty Taco before and suggested it to him. He/we loved it! The vibe is super cool, the service is awesome, friendly, cool and professional. We were lucky enough to have Clayton as a waiter and he was super knowledgeable about the menu and was brave enough to order for as as we requested without any trepidation. The buffalo shrimp toco was unreal! The drinks were creative and delicious! We will be there as often as possible!!!
My wife and I finally got to check this place out last night. They told us that the wait would be 1 hour but we were seated in 30 minutes. We tried 6 different tacos between us. They were all well stuffed and very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the owner came by to make sure that we enjoyed the experience. He asked us if we tried a new taco that they were featuring as a special item and when we told him we hadnt he gave us one to go on the house. A very nice touch to end an already enjoyable dinner.
Extremely noisy, crowded and small. Get your tacos to go to avoid this uncomfortably loud establishment. That said...the food is good.Apparently this is the go to food emporium for the under 30 crowd in Wantagh. I was there at 6 on a wed night in early June...jammed. Cant imagine a Friday or Saturday night.
Still waiting for my money to be refunded and on top of that I got food posing from their food that night! I guess because it was sitting out to long! Not a good experience. Our first time ordering. We had gotten delivery and was told the delivery guy would not start delivery until 8pm. That was fine. We placed the order at 7:15pm. 8pm came and went we figure they had been backed up. 9pm rolled around and still no food. We called for about 15 minutes before getting through to someone. Finally got through and was told the guy who took our order, didn’t put down the correct address. When I asked the gentleman on the phone, why they just didn’t call me to confirm the address. He told me the guy taking down my order didn’t take down my number.Confused don’t we all have caller ID now. We had already paid over the phone with a credit card. They could not deliver my food but had no issues taking my money since the credit card was already charged. Flash forward to 9:35pm food delivered. I guess it was sitting for some time because it was cold and soggy and was not good. As per the guy on the phone they will be refunding the $55.00 bucks I spent . Still waiting to see that money refunded. I am really disappointed because I heard this place was good and I am not to sure after tonight.
Travelled half way across the world from Australia and I can say that this place is my favourite bar and taco place! Nice quiet little place tucked away in the suburbs. Food was delicious, the cocktails were awesome and unique. Service was also the best we have experienced so far in the States! Well done guys!
Long wait but great drinks to hold you over. Fun vibe mix of Mexican and Miami. Tacos were tasty, we had a sampling of chicken, fish and steak. Tater tot app was excellent. Only complaint is much of the food had same flavor profile, but overall a good experience and would go again. Its small, so prepare to wait.
This place could use a little more seating since it’s small and hasn’t yet fixed that problem yet. Also the seats are just metal stools that make you slouch with not back support of cushion for any comfort. Probably works well for good turn around. The parking lot is so small and is always full. Street parking is impossible as well. But this is all because the outside wall mural as well and the inside wall mural are amazing! The outside invites you to an even cooler interior with all kinds of day of the dead murals and decor. The table are awesome with cool stamps by the business almost like a burnt in brand. The biggest problem is the wait no one in front of us they said 25 minutes which turned into 35 minutes. No drinks or bites provided during the wait. Also the bar was full but they had a four top table sitting empty the whole time. We were sitting in a plastic room outside on a bench with no back or cushion just metal 35 degrees out.But it’s always worth it because the waitress was very friendly and the host was helpful. The food was impeccable and the table hot sauces just made it better. Nice to two or four people not many more or you bill be waiting for even longer. We got the street corn, street fries, calamari tacos, pork tacos, chicken tacos, and beef tacos. Everything was seasoned very well. The sauces in everything blended well with the food as well. They’re small items but they pack the tacos full as well as the small containers for the sides. So you get a lot of food with a small bite.Worth coming back but maybe I’ll try another location with possibly a less wait and more tables with room to move around...
Sat at the bar with my wife and had one of the most fun dining experiences Ive ever had. The bartenders arent only ridiculously good at their job, but they have customer service down to a science. And its like you leave there with more friends than you had before you walked in. Youll just start BSing with the people next to you, as well as the bartenders. Tacos are delicious and the drinks are unforgettable. The spicy pineapple margarita is dangerous. If I didnt have an 8 and 5 year old to devote my every thought and breathe to, Id be at dirty taco every week. Enjoy!
Waiter tariq was very unprofessional from the minute we sat down and annoying. He didnt treat us well,We were rushed. Drinks took 30 mins.. We then had the manager tell us that theres a time limit and we had to leave. I understand restaurants are under stress because of Covid I was so looking forward to eating at Dirty Taco because of the great reviews we read and how fabulous the food is. Dont get me wrong the tacos are very good but the service was lacking very much so and very unprofessional tonight. Not sure if I will be returning.
AMAZING!!!! I like to consider myself a taco connoisseur and let me tell you these are the BEST. The staff is so friendly, the location is always clean, and the food is always amazing. I order something different each time and have not been disappointed...even with dessert. Dirty Taco, keep up the great work!
The wait at this place is crazy but you cant really fault them for having great food. Best tacos on Long island. Not the best I ever had but definitely best on Long island. I wouldve gave 5 star if it wasnt so expensive. I have been back 5 times and love the food and drinks just pricy and long wait so I usually do take out. I would not wait an hour or more for this unless your with a group of friends to grab drinks while waiting. Very attentive staff great food and drinks. What else can you ask for. Long wait is because the food is so good everyone wants it... Cant fault them for that.
If the wait is two hours, dont be surprised and WAIT! The food is soooo good, some of the best tacos Ive ever had. They are an Asian Cali mix of sorts so you wont find regular tacos on the menu but they have some excellent choices! The margaritas there are delicious as well and as busy and small as that place might be they run it exceptionally well! Definitely recommend!
I came in somewhat skeptical of the place, but Im glad I stepped in. This place is great. Not for nothing, but if you have to wait, then you wait. Youll be glad you did. Anthony the GM and Clayton who is on staff were amazing to deal with. The atmosphere is excellent and the vibe is great. Its not over the top, its not subtle. If youre looking for a good time and something to do, this is a great destination. The prices are also very good as well. You cant miss coming here. You will love it!
Great atmosphere, friendly and quick bartenders, attentive servers and management, good good foodDefinitely expect a wait, and you pay for the quality of food but Dirty Taco and Tequila is a great spot. On an island that is full of Taco/Burrito spots, this one stands out.It also has flights of tequila so any interested party can get to know their palate. Not interested in tequila? It has a great selection of craft and popular beers as well as refreshing cocktails.I hope your experience is as good as mine was.
Dirty Taco + Tequila is an amazing little spot with lots of life. Although the wait was a little long, it’s well worth it. As soon as you walk in you’re greeted by sprawling people, having a good time either at the bar or at their tables enjoying the food. Speaking of the food, it is delicious and very filling. The tacos may look mini but they are packed and can fill you up. The best part of the visit was definitely the service. My family and I met the owner and his father, who were both extremely nice and made us feel like we belong. Can’t wait to come back to Dirty Taco, highly recommend to anybody wanting great tacos at a good price.
Prior to our order we heard nothing but great things about this establishment but unfortunately are experience was horrible to put it lightly. Was slotted for a 245 which i arrived at 245 on the button. Paid for my food and brought it home. I am 9 minutes from the restaurant. Every single item was ice cold. Not cold, ice cold. The steak taco was extremely fatty, the wings were more bread crumb and coating than chicken. Very disappointed and was starving so we ate it as is. Im sure other people had great experiences but we did not. Wasted $70 bucks and ended up getting more food elsewhere. The young lady that answered the phone was extremely pleasant to mention a positive aspect but will be our first and last experience. Thanks.UPDATE. Just spoke to the owner and all i can say ia what an incredible person that truly cares about their customers. I truly believe this was an isolated incident and i will be calling DT again!! Thank you so much for your genuine concern. This is how you conduct business. Bravo!!Last Update 12/7/20: The owner is unbelievable! What a great person and so is his son and the entire staff. We called back for our replacement meal and man it was out of this world!!! Everything was fresh and hot!!! They even gave us two tres leches cakes that were out of this world delicious. They went above and beyond to make my wife and i lifetime customers and all i can say is mission accomplished!! See you again soon! Thank you!!!
The other night was my first time going into this place. I was a bit concerned about its location and the wait for our table but I decided to give it a shot. I went in with my husband and waited at the bar, their a bartender introduced himself by the name of Jason he was very polite at first sight. He gave my picky husband a food recommendation that he ended up enjoying very well. He was very personable and really kept the atmosphere pleasant. He made this peach and watermelon marg the was I kid you not - like nothing I’ve ever tasted ! So good!! The servers and staff were also really friendly but my husband and I felt so comfortable at the bar we just skipped out on the table. I’m definitely going to come in again and next time with our kids. Thankyou so much Jason and dirty taco staff for making my first time so memorable.
Best place in town the tacos are really filling with lots of meat in it. The vibe is really cool in there too. My waiter Moustafa was amazing really welcomed us and treated us like family. This is my new spot from now on I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for good quality taco in a great atmosphere.
I was excited to go Dirty Taco for a co-workers Birthday . The reviews seemed great. I was extremely disappointed. It started bad at the front door. There wasn’t a hostess at the front. After about 5 minutes a woman ( I think her name was AnnMarie ) came up. She had a bit of an attitude. Very rude and abrupt. We waited about an hour, and we are finally seated. Food came out cold, and wasn’t very good. Place is very small, so when you’re waiting for an hour people are right on top of you. I’ve been to way better taco places where they were friendlier and the food was better, so I doubt I’ll be going back.
I have never experienced anything so appalling as I did at this establishment. After learning of a lengthy wait, my husband and I decided to enjoy the breeze and sit on the benches out front. A lovely employee/security personnel began to chi chat with us. Suddenly, out of nowhere a wired, wound up manchild ran over (wearing a dirty taco shirt) throwing his hands in the air and started screaming at the staffer chatting with us. During this seemingly outrageous episode, he screamed at the staffer speaking with us to go home, he was fired, done, and not needed. The seemingly disturbed individual then ran like a madman into the restaurant. Stunned and shocked we looked at the saddened employee who was just belittled and fired in front on a slew of customers we asked “omg was that a joke?” (Hoping that it was). He said no “that’s the owner. He just fired me.” I was horrified and partially did not believe it. Apparently, when I was seated on the bench outside looking up and speaking with the kind staffer, I had lowered my mask bc my glasses fogged and I couldn’t see him. Unbeknownst to me, I had broken a non posted, unmentioned outdoor mask rule in front of the restaurant. The mask is permanently around my neck and would have NEVER come off my mouth and nose had I known. At any rate, the now fired staffer left and my husband went inside to the “owner” to apologize and explain that it was our fault, not the staffers. All wired, he came hastily back outside out to carry on about how important and popular he is and how nice he and his dad are. I gently and nervously explained “umm we just saw you berate and fire your employee in front of customers “ he continued on about what a nice guy he was and that I should ask anyone .....We then met up with our friends and did leave before trying the tacos. But I just couldn’t see giving my business to a place that treats their hardworking staff in such a discourteous, unprofessional, inexcusable way. HIS “daddy” may be a very nice guy as he carried on about .. he on the other hand could certainly use some life lessons on how to treat others. Especially the Hardworking people he employs. I worked in the restaurant industry for years waiting tables all through college and have been in the legal profession for over 21 years. I am a frequent diner of local establishments and this is one less that I will be visiting. I am still in shock about what we experienced and that display of inexcusable behavior outside of the dirty taco I’m Wantagh. Sad and embarrassing.
All I can say is WOW!!!. Possibly the best tacos Ive ever had.... service, atmosphere, food excellent... Rich our waiter was kind, courteous, and cute according to my wife on the last one... if you are in the mood for some tacos and a fun chill atmosphere dont hesitate to stop at Dirty tacos and tequila. We are glad we did.
Have wanted to visit here for a long time but heard there is always a wait. I checked google which said even at the busiest time the wait is 15 minutes. Well that was a lie and should be updated . They told us it would be an hour wait so we went to the bar to have a few drinks. The space is really tiny and the bar is next to the kitchen so we kept getting bumped around. I had a watermelon basil margarita which didn’t have great flavor and seemed water down. I then for the spicy bloody orange which had better flavor.Since the wait was so long they offered shots to the customers sitting at the bar but it was really no constellation prize. I then noticed they had sat a table that came in after us ( and yes I looked at the list they were about 15 names after us) and were very rude when I asked why we were the next table on the list but someone was sat before us .This unpleasant conversation was followed by an evacuation of the entire restaurant after we waited a total of 90 minutes for a table. You would think after this horrible start to our evening they would at-least send out a message on social media or anywhere apologizing for the circumstances , maybe offering something for the mishap but nothing. The customer service here seems to be an issue on a lot of the reviews and I can see why.
Excellent food. Had Asian style Nachos, KFC wings and a bunch of tacos. So delicious! Nick, the waiter was so great! Margaritas were great as well. I would have rated Dirty Taco a 4.5 because some of the food was cold and I really like my food hot but the flavors were so tasty! Never tasted anything like the Tres Leche dessert. So good! Definitely a place I will visit again!!!
Great place! Omg the food was sooo good! I had a great time with my husband here. The attention was amazing! Dave was extremely kind with us and gave us the best recommendation with the drinks. We didnt wait at all for the food and the drinks. Please try the margarita midnight blue! You wont regret it. Be sure to go early!
Came on a Sunday at 3:30pm. No wait. Food was really good and service was excellent! I was especially impressed by the delicious margarita for only $7! The tacos are big and they don’t skimp on the fillings. I left completely stuffed with many overeating regrets, but can’t fault the place for that.
Smallish type place with excessive wait time and a parking lot that leaves a bit to be desired. The tacos were pretty solid with a nice variation and decent size. The asian nachos were tasty ( though on the cold side). The beer menu is lame and overpriced. Probably wont go back due to the wait, crowded tables and $7-10 beer selection ( I mean really $10 bucks for a run of the mill beer).
Excellent food and great atmosphere! My boyfriend and I ordered a red and white sangria while we waited at the bar for our table. We ended up ordering food at the bar instead of waiting for our table and the service was great! We shared some chips and guac which we both enjoyed and we had a variety of tacos and they were all great!!
What a fun spot ! Came here with my boyfriend for lunch. The staff were so friendly and the food was delicious! I had the Vietnamese shrimp flour tortilla, sweet plantains and a drink called the Cocojito. It waa like a creamy mojito, amazing! Will definitely be returning with friends. Highly recommend!
Had a great meal at Dirty Taco! Our server C was wonderful! Took care of everything! Even brought an extra plate when she saw Other server did not provide one. I had the Ahi tuna taco with the fries. My husband had the skirt steak and the calamari tacos with the rice and beans. My son had the lobster Mac app.The food and the service was awesome. The only problem I did have was that the seats were uncomfortable.
Being from the southwest I was skeptical of this place, but boy is there egg on my face! It has an authentic touch with some character. The house made tortillas are perfect. The tequila selection was quite impressive with the owner helping me choose exactly what I was looking for. Oh very nice!
Very unhappy!I took my girlfriend for here for dinner and drinks for get birthday. We had to wait a while so we had drinks and sat outside. We ordered the same drink more than once and it was very different every time (it was one of their house specials)Once we got our table it was late and no longer crowded. When we ordered we specified we wanted our appetizers before our tacos and of course it all came together. The waitress gave my girlfriend a piece of cake for her birthday. We had it on the table and told the waitress that we are stepping outside and would be right back to eat the cake. We came back in and they cleared the table including the dessert that was not touched at all.The service was horrible, the did the exact opposite of everything we asked.I would not return
Dirty Taco & Tequila is hands down with a great big 10 they have it right 100 percent.Living here in the community massapequa & seaford alwaYs looking for a more healthier option the selection of Tacos excellent. My wife have been coming here 3 for 4 times already the owners and managers the bar staff to waiters and busboys everyone is so professional and welcoming. The bartenders they are like magicians with making your cocktails and all there ingredients are freshly made and infused amazing I ordered red sangria and it was the best that I have ever had. The food is exceptional the tacos are fresh and it will leave you to have more and to come back for more. The owners and management are fantastic people.
Not for nothing this place was not good at all. Food was over two hours late getting to my house. We had to call the phone number a number of times to speak with someone to inform them, the food never came. The phone is always busy! The first time we called the guy made us wait on hold for 15 minutes and then hung up on us!The manager Anthony told my wife he was going to comp the order and give us our money back due to the food being over two hours late and no one calling us to inform us. We still have not seen our money, why say something and not do it?. The food was delivered soggy and cold and my wife got sick from the food, because the food was sitting out way to long. That was the only food we had eaten that day. So we know it was not from anything else. Would not recommend this place at all sorry!
Finally were able to get in to this new (for us anyway) restaurant. What a great vibe. As soon as you walk in the party feel of the restaurant exhilarates the room. The island music is perfect and the sound system is of high quality. This place reminds us of Rhumba in Hampton Bays which has a similar vibe/feel. Be warned its not quiet but it does not matter. Oh yeah the food. It did not disappoint. Instead of appetizers we ordered asian noodles and corn on the cob for appetizers from the sides menu. Drinks were great as well including the sangria which was made to perfection. Fantastic is all I can say. Had the Chicken, Cauliflower and Vietnamese Shrimp Tacos. Fantastic as well. Service was also spot on. If you had not had a chance to sample this place get over there so you too can indulge.
The wait was ridiculous. We were told there were two tables in front of us and about 6 tables were seated. They never told us that they were not including parties of 2 in the wait and when mentioned to the hostess which I believe to be the new owner, she wasnt very polite about. Seemed to want to be argumentative. Once we were seated we ordered drinks and appetizers. Drinks were ok, overrated... We ordered 2 nachos, which came out cold and the Thai Chili wings which came highly recommended from our waitress, also overrated. In general just not a very pleasant experience and not interested in returning.
There was a huge wait so we were ready to leave but the manager offered us a round of drinks and apologised for such a long wait! He gave people who were waiting chips n salsa! What a wonderful thought!!! I wish other restaurant could be this considerate !wow it was worth the wait! The watermelon basil margarita were amazing ! The Guacamole was out of this world their cheese Sauce is amazing ! Their Brussels sprouts tacos was soooo good wow! Their desserts are delicious! The waitress was sweet as can be I mean they work so hard everyone in there to cater to your every need ! I would definitely go back and recommend to everyone! Great job guys! Thank you!!!
Weve been trying to get into this place for a long time and were finally successful. We had a wonderful Birthday celebration!! The food (chimichurri steak taco, Vietnamese shrimp taco, Classic Baja taco, Asian style nachos, Guacamole and chips) is delicious! The drinks, (spicy blood orange margarita, spicy pineapple margarita) yummy! The staff, especially Roman, were amazing! We felt like weve been going coming here forever, because we were treated so well! Thanks guys! We will definitely be back!
Myself and my girlfriend ALWAYS go here and we love it. Whether it’s the staff, Mrs. Tom lol, Tom Sr or Jr the service is AMAZING. You can tell it is a family owned business because that’s exactly how you’re treated. I haven’t even gotten to the food yet! Short rib tacos, dirty fries, calamari, jerk chicken doesn’t matter you can’t go wrong they’re all delicious and it’s topped off with the occasional shot on the house! The drinks are just as good. Depending on the time you may have a wait (we’ve learned from experience but it is worth it) AND now they recently started takeout! I recommend it to any and everyone
My girlfriend and I visited this place about 4 months ago for the first time and it was great . Short wait and great food . We have recommended DT to numerous people who have also gone and enjoyed their experience. The last few times the wait has been way too long for me ( I will never wait over an hour to eat anyplace ). We however did get in last Sunday with only a 20 minute wait and to be honest I was disappointed that they no longer give you the extra tortilla with your tacos and the portion size of the Mexican street fries were like half the size of any of our previous visits. I plan on visiting the new Rockville Centre location when it opens to see if the seating is better and they return to their original way of doing things but if not it will be my last visit unfortunately. 😞 The food is very good but I don’t like paying the same price and getting half of what you used to get .
This place is new so it was mobbed on Cinco De Mayo but the drinks were great. I asked if they had vegan options and was told yes but my tacos literally just had roasted cauliflower in them. If you’re a meat eater it’s perfect but for me I’ll probably only return for happy hour.
I honestly was excited to try Dirty Taco in Woodbury but am very hesitant after my experience tonight. I’ve gone to the Wantagh location a bunch of times and loved it. My boyfriend and I were walking up to the door and headed to the hostess stand when the security guard abruptly blocked the door to ask if he could help us. I am a short blonde hair girl, this scared me to the point that I forgot what I wanted to say. I asked if we needed reservations or if we could put our name on the list and if there was a wait time. He then rudely told us that there was a 2 hour wait as if he didn’t want our business.
We’ve been here before but i swear every time we come, it’s better and better. The past year we’ve been living in NC and whenever we came home to visit, Dirty Taco was a must. This visit we started with the gauc and chips and an order of kimchi buffalo wings. For dinner, i had the Korean short rib, ahi tuna and Brussels sprout tacos as well as a Mexican street corn.for dessert we did the tres leche cake with a rumchata shot... to die for btw!Our server was Clayton and he’s the best server we’ve had thus far. Super knowledgeable on the menu, extremely personable and welcoming and just an all around pleasure.10 out of 10 for us, we will be back and bringing everyone we know!
This place is amazing! The food is absolutely delicious. The ambiance is on point and the drinks are the absolute best around! Every time we go the staff is on point and friendly, not to mention damn good lookin! LOL! The wait is totally worth it! You really cant go wrong with any of the food as all of it is crazy good. However, if I had choose one favorite... I cant I have 2! #1 Korean short rib taco is to die for! And #2 the tuna poke tacos are friggin insane! I mean the tuna is so fresh it melts in your mouth! Really I cant say enough good things about this place! I love my tacos dirty and I am in love with The Dirty Taco & Tequila!
Food is excellent drinks are great! I know we are in a quiet area but I wish theyre open a little bit longer! They do have a bar there and the drinks were good I would have stayed and had a couple of more if they were open a little bit longer! The leader who helped me was fantastic!
Awesome time here on a saturday night! Its a small place, so expect a wait (in the mean time, enjoy a very tasty marg while sitting outside). The salsa was very well done and rich in flavor. Just as well, there veggie tacos were easily made vegan and were very unique from other vegan tacos Ive had (never thought to put brussel sprouts in a taco before). Bring friends or family and enjoy(:
I have never left a review before, let alone a negative one, but I felt compelled after this horrible experience and to prevent someone else the same burden. I had such high hopes for this place and was excited to try it but this place was not worth the trouble. The wait was extremely long which we expected but it was an hour over the estimate they gave so we waited over 2 hours. Had they followed up that it was going to be a much longer wait then anticipated we could have left and went somewhere else but at that point most places were closing and we already waited all that time. The hostess also seemed annoyed maybe because we had bigger party Im not sure. We were hopeful the food was going to be worth the wait but with small portions and medicore food we were disappointed. The cauliflower taco was drenched in oil and the other people in my party said there tacos were sour which wasnt expected in the jamaican jerk taco. Keep in my mind its 4-6 dollars for a taco so Id expect a better tasting taco. Unfortunately things only got worse when the next day everyone in my party informed me they were charged more then what they signed for on the receipt.
Arrived on New Years Day with a group of 7. They were able to seat us within 30 mins. Our waitress, Fatima was friendly and helpful with menu decisions. Cocktails were delicious. We had the Bacon Blood Mary, Watermelon Basil Margarita and Cucumber Basil Tequila Mojito. The food was on point. Guac, wings and tacos all were great. Will be going back again!
First, I dont like or love tacos. BUT OMG!!!, this place is phenomenal. I would wait an hour for these tacos, get my drink and wait my turn. These arent tiny dainty Tacos, they are all amazing. And no let down in the area and quality of the beverages. The Drinks are amazing, the Cucumber mojito and the rest of the selection, you cant go wrong. And you have to try the Mexican Street Corn.
The food is fresh and good, not great. Theres too much on the tacos, odd flavors. The environment was the worst part, packed constantly banged into and the stool chairs were awful. I couldnt wait to leave to relieve my back pain. I tried to go three times with too long waits but now that I went, I dont need to go back.
I visited this place three times with three different group sizes (2, 4, 7) and on three different months. I have gone that many times because I want the only local place with Brussels sprout tacos to succeed. My first visit had warm tacos but terrible bar service... On my second visit they didn’t have one of their three signature drinks. The wait was the longest I had experienced. Standing at the bar to wait for a table didn’t work either as the bartenders were not fulfilling orders in a timely manner (they forgot our order). We were even told we couldn’t order guacamole for the bar because the kitchen was backed up. And after all that wait, and finally being seated, the tacos came out cold. That day the owner Tom apologized himself personally and comp’ed some beverages. That was really nice of him and so we tried to dine there again. Unfortunately yesterday was the last straw for me. The majority of tacos came out cold for our party of 7. They didn’t have plantains or tres leche either. With such a small menu they need to ensure they have it or at least tell people ahead of time while being seated. And the drinks were inconsistent. My first margarita was strong and then my second was weak... maybe a year from now they’ll have worked out ALL their kinks and it’ll be worth going to... hopefully 🤞🏼
This was my fourth time coming to Dirty Taco and the food was delicious as always. I was extremely disappointed with the bartender, zero personality. A bartender usually greets customers with a smile and informs them about specials and offers a drink menu. This particular bartender ( came on Thursday October 10th around 630pm) did neither. He didt even speak just a head nod. Maybe on our next visit Ill opt out on cocktails or better yet GET RID OF THAT BARTENDER!!!!!
Tried to get in back in February but it was mobbed and we bailed. Got in this evening and I have to say it was worth the wait. Great margaritas (pineapple and peach) as well as some of the most flavorful and interesting tacos you will find. Had the tsunami taco special with a ton of lobster as well as Kung pao chicken/ahi tuna/carne asado and Korean shrimp tacos - all delicious. Definitely an experience. Fast friendly service ( thanks Tariq) and even great tres leches cake. Tom the owner (and his dad) were great hosts - it was really like a house party with awesome food. We will definitely be back.
Having eaten some of the best Mexican Tacos in Mexico, Baja Peninsula & Manhattan when I heard of Dirty Taco, the name itself was of interest. I gave it a 5 star because it was excellent, consistent and really nice owners and waitstaff. I.went back 7 days later with family and tried other menu items. Highly recommend but check the hours prior to going. Only thing missing would be some tropical drinks but the blenders are loud and place.is small. The chef here absolutely knows how to combine ingredients. If your a carnivore the menu has lots of options.I loved all the shrimp tacos, tuna, calamari. They have vegetatian options and juat a great selection of appetizers. The wings were packed with flavor. Appetizers are large enough to share and the tacos I over ordered first visit. They are so delicious and for the price packed with fine ingredientsDesserts.are homemade and large enough to share. If you love guacamole theres is the best...Rarely do I order this out because.I love my own but they made a fresh batch each time...Tequila menu is incredible. Rumor has it they are opening in Rockville Center.I.hope they come to the North Shore.Hint! Very few restaurants have a Happy Atmosphere but this place does. Our waiter had the personality and looks to be the next bachelor...Genuine nice guy...Owner came by our table as well as his family dad to see we were enjoying the food. They have a mystery hot sauce homemade that comes in a mini bottle. WOW We.will be back. Again.& Again. Here is.one photo more at @grandbleu72everdream
WOWED in Wantagh!! What a great dinner last nite. Wait time was reasonable as we got there early, Patron Margarita was perfect, waiter Kevin was awesome and Food was delicious. Quite possible the best place on Long Island. Owners husband came over to chat, nice guy too. You will know why it’s so busy all the time instantly. Went from Glen Cove to Brooklyn to Wantagh last night and don’t regret a single thing!!!!!!!
Hmmm where do I even begin? When everything is top notch it’s hard to decide where to start and where to end. Well I guess I’ll start at the very beginning. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly smiles and happy people. A lot oftimes when you go into a busy restaurant the people seating you are “all over the place”, stressed, unhappy, and have a short fuse. This experience was the complete 180. They were happy, friendly, had everything under control, and organized.Going to our table taking note of the atmosphere, it was seen that everyone else not just employees were smiling. You just felt happy being in here. The decor was modern, original, and done very nicely fitting the theme of the restaurant. There is a great selection of drinks and everyone who had one raved about them. Myself I do not drink, but I thoroughly enjoyed my Ginger Ale.Now the reason why we came...the food. There is a good choice of starters, tacos, sides, and desserts and they all very very tasty. There is a nice fusion aspect to it which makes it different than other taco places that are around. Each taco we tried had its own uniqueness to it, and I’m excited to go back to try some more. Just when we thought we couldn’t fit anymore we ordered a tres leches which finished off the night with the perfect amount of sweetness. When leaving the staff once again were all smiling and made us feel like family as they said their goodbyes and invited us back again. We will definitely be taking up on that invite as it was the best all around meal we have had in a while. It is very rare for every aspect to be better than expected and they definitely exceeded expectations (which were very high going in, considering all the good reviews we were reading through). Do yourself a favor and giveit a try....you won’t regret it.
Waited 20 mins for a table specifically outside, when we were called. She said our table inside is ready. When we told her that we were waiting for an outside table we were told it would be an additional 20-25 mins on top of the 20 mins we already waited. Food was okay
Literally the best tacos ever. Roman and the fellas at the bar make waiting so much fun and make amazing drinks. Taking shots with all the friendlys st the bar we didn’t even want to take our table cause we were enjoying the music and the company but glad we did cause dinner was amazing!!!
Excellent tacos and the bar menu is superb. I took a ride out here after some coverage by News12 and was not let down. Certainly it my top 2 taco joints on the island, right up there with Swell Taco in Babylon. Cant wait to visit again with a wicked hunger. Keep up the good taco work guys! #NomNomNom #TacoTuesday #Yummy
Been there 4 times now. But this time we decided to take out. Had to wait 30 min for takeout which didn’t matter since the food had been delicious and no issues up until yesterday. My wife ordered the Cod tacos (Classic Baja) and wound up with food poisoning last night until this morning, we live 5 min from there and ate them right away so it wasn’t an issue with them sitting outPlease be careful what you order
My husband and I went to the Rockville centre t&t and the service was fast...I mean real fast! We were on date night and we spent less then an hour in the place from start to finish! The the guacamole need salt. The servings could be bigger. And we felt like we got the bums rush. Slow down the service da bit and add some salt!
This place has a ridiculous line that goes out of the store we’re nobody social distances. Some people online don’t even wear masks! They seat people too close together and not even 6 feet apart. I will never go here again or eat here. The wait is not worth it. This post is long overdue.
Sooo Ive been patiently waiting for the RVC location to open because its closer for me than the main location and its a larger venue. Well I got my wish and the food, service and drinks were just as good as the original with less of a wait. While there I had the pleasure of finally meeting the owner and he even sent my son a free order of the Churros because he accidentally mistook him for a girl because of his extra long hair lol.. All I can say is Ive been a fan from the first bite and I will become a very regular patron since they are now 7 minutes away... (Margarita Lover)😍😍😍
Dirty Taco for the win!!! Tonight was our first night there and it was amazing!!! The food, drinks, service-all A++ (our waitress was a doll) - the topping on the cake was how friendly everyone was. The owner came over to our table and offered us quesadillas, chips w. Guacamole for our son! How nice was that?? That kind gesture will definitely have us going back very soon!! THANK YOU DIRTY TACO ♡ p.s. the ahi poke app was Amazing! And the calamari taco & Brussel sprout taco was out of this world!
Service was slow. Could be new staff dont know never went there before. Also seen something odd by a manger or waitstaff putting money behind a wall covering toward the front seemed like they were planning to steal from the place they worked. Food was average in taste dont expect spicy. I wont be going back the way it is.
I guess I see what the hype is about! Finally made it to the restaurant the other day (for a pickup order) after eyeing it for a while. My group of 3 were all very satisfied with our 2 tacos each, and their prices seem reasonable for LI. I was assisted by Anthony, who came across as very professional.
My girlfriend and i have been looking fowards to just getting a table at this trendy eatery. The decor and ambiance is righitnout of down town brooklyn. Unfortunately interior design isnt enough to leave restaurant patrons happy and satified. Sadly to say this local missed the mark. Too many things wrong to list but if i had to list one thing that errked me was that the plates were lined with paper which desintergrated when they put cheese sauce on it so you end up eatting soggy paper surprise. Anyway being in the service intustry i tipped out 20 percent and never gave anyone a hard time about it. Long story short id give dirty taco another chance perhaps my experience was a fluke you never know.Peace out rock stars.!
The wait was insane, but we waited it out and the food was great. Service was great especially with the crowded restaurants and constant movement. I took one star off for the hour and half wait and we waited at the bar about 25 minutes before we could even get the bartenders attention.
Great local place. Service and food are always amazing. Owners are best around with years in the food and hospitality business which makes this place really stand out! Everytime I visit the service is beyond fantastic and the food knocks in out of the park! Great menu and creative delicious drinks! It’s a MUST go to on Long Island!
Heard this Taco joint was amazing and had to give it a try . I started with the Asian Nachos. The meat was good, but overall it felt like a bad blend of flavors. The peanut sauce with nacho chese just didnt taste good together. Chopped peanuts and bean sprouts topped it off but nothing about it felt Asian.Carne Asada taco might have been decent but it had too much going on and too much sauce. At first it tastes good, but the after taste is bad. I couldnt tell if it was the Mayo or crema, but its a bad pairing of ingredients. Im pretty sure it was the Mayo, but why does a taco need two sauces to begin with? And this is a $5 taco...Next I had the Southern BBQ Chicken taco, it was a special so it might not be on the menu, and it reminded me of a classic chicken bacon ranch sandwich. I couldnt tell if they were bacon bits or if they finely chopped bacon themselves but I wish it had bigger pieces of bacon as half the bacon fell out on the first bite and more after that. It was an ok taco because it wasnt overly complicated.Overall I doubt Ill be back. Im not a picky eater at all, but I really dont like their pairing of ingredients and looking at their menu that seems to be just what they do...

2022-05-27Great food with unique combos - like calimari tacos! Everything was full of flavor. Staff was very friendly. Gina waited on us and she was great! We even had a few jokes about our names being pronounced the same way. Will definitely go there again

2022-01-30Finally got out to this location and everything was JUST as amazing as the Wantaugh one! The vibe was SO FUN - it was brunch and we loved ALL the new menu options ESPECIALLY the Nashville hot burrito! The music was FIRE and wait staff was so attentive and they genuinely care about your experience. The management and owners are so involved in the restaurant day to day and he asks about his menu and what could be improved; overall they are receptive and care about your business.Side note: Coconut tequila shots, Sangria, Bloody Mary’s and ALL delicious - ALSO .99 MIMOSAS on Sundays here! 🙌🏼

2022-06-19Came around 1pm and there was no wait. We sat outside which was great however the sun was brutal. Umbrellas did not cover the table. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. Food came out fast and fresh. Everything was flavorful and filling. Great vegetarian options. Only gripe is it’s a bit pricey per taco but the tacos are filled to the max. They charge extra if you use credit card. I would come back here more often if they had better parking and was larger. A year ago it looked like they were going to move across the street to a much larger place which we were excited about but that didn’t pan out I heard.

2021-08-31This place had an amazing menu. All the taco and drink options were great. I had the Blood Orange Margarita. Sadly didn’t take a picture of it but highly recommend it. Also had the pulled pork taco and ahi tuna taco. The pork taco was good. But I wouldn’t recommend the tuna option. I had to take one star off for their tuna. It didn’t sit right was too rubbery when it got to me. But I’m definitely going back and trying more options. Also the parking lot is VERY small.

2021-01-09Our visit was on a Friday afternoon at 4pm for three guest. It was fairly empty which was nice because I’ve gone before and was given an hour wait!Great COVID standards. All employees wore proper attire and everything was spaced out.The drinks were amazing. So amazing I forgot to take a photo! Reasonably priced for delicious drinks. The tacos were good. The server recommended a few. I was not to pleased with the calamari taco. It was very hard and chewy so we decided not to eat it. The other tacos were delicious!

My blueberries 🫐 magarita was amazing. The staff was super friendly. We got our food in a timely manner which was great! It made up for the wait time. We will definitely revisit this establishment.

2021-11-11Good was great, drinks were also great. Service was outstanding, knowledgeable servers and there suggestions were on point. Owner was speaking with us and compd a few things just because we got here pretty early.
