Dr. Gatzonis is the best! Always painless and quick. All the work that I’ve had done has held up with no issues. He is a true dental professional.
Dr. Gatzonis is a great dentist. Kind, warm, gentle, and never overcharges or price gouges. The hygienists, surgeons, and office staff are wonderful. I’ve never been treated rough, no unnecessary pain, just gentle, competent, accurate dental care. I’ve been coming for years. If you need a dentist, especially if you have a fear of dentists, this is a great practice to come to!
Dr. Gatzonis is a great and caring Dentist. I have been going since a young girl and I am still going more than 25 years later! I would highly recommend him and his entire office!
Good as a cleaning can get.Didnt wait long. Showed a proof of vax.Dental hygienist did a painless cleaning (despite me not being a frequent flosser). Got usual reminder to floss regularly.Now they will text you few days before your 6month cleaning (much better than the postal card reminder)
My recent experience with Dr. Pakan was…as always…professional, compassionate, and excellent. We werecontinuing work on an implant and all went well and will be completed during my next visit. The entire staff is always kind and efficient.

I am so very thankful for this office. Long story short, my daughter’s tiny cavity at the beginning of the pandemic was forgotten during quarantine but boy did it make itself known last week. Our dentist closed permanently last year so I was in a scramble to find someone who was good and who took our insurance. I am so happy I went with Dr Gatzonis. They squeezed us in for an emergency appointment. We were seen right away and I was very impressed with how everything was done so efficiently. My daughter has been a difficult patient in the past but she felt very comfortable here. I will be using them for our family dentist. Great dentist with a great staff.
I have been coming to Ditmars Family Dental for nearly a decade and it has never been anything less than a great experience.I have had everything done from a cleaning, to having a cavity filled, to root canal work, to a dental implant and all of this done without incident by professionals who knew exactly what they were doing.Dr. Gatzonis is fabulous. He is as loyal to his clientele as we are to him.As for the staff, you could not ask for nicer people to interact with.Such a blessing to have such a great dental office so close by.

I had a very positive experience at my recent dental visit with Dr. Gatzonis, particularly considering that it was during the Covid-19 pandemic and I had been concerned about the safety. I was pleasantly surprised with the many precautions being taken at the office and made to feel very safe from the minute I walked in and found that I was the only one in the waiting area. I was seen shortly and the cleaning proceeded quickly and with careful measures taken to ensure my safety which I am very grateful for.
This was my first visit. I had such a wonderful first experience with the entire staff. I thought I was going to go through a big adjustment switching dentists, I felt so at ease. My oral health was explained to me in great detail (great check up). The dental hygienist was very thorough and gentle.
The office staff was super nice and they took care of me quickly. They were extra careful and clean with this new lifestyle we are living. I had to wash my hands and put gloves on as soon as I walked in and I needed my mask as all times except when I was getting a cleaning. The office was so clean and in each room there was an air purifier which made me feel like they were even cleaner! My teeth always feel brand new after my visits here ! Keep up the great work, stay safe.

My wife and I just had our first visit to Ditmars Family Dental this past week. All staff was extremely friendly and the practice was very clean. We were also happy to see them taking COVID precautions very seriously: waiting room chairs were well spaced out, we were asked to use hand sanitizer and wear plastic gloves (supplied).The cleaning and X-rays were great and our teeth looked great afterwards! If I had to nitpick something, it would be that the visit with the actual dentist was very brief, but they usually are. Overall a great experience and we’ll definitely continue to come here.

What a great staff! The service from the receptionist to the dentist is amazing. They have been restructing my 84 year old mothers mouth.. So far they are achieving beautiful relatively painless dental work. She has been seen on her appointed appointment time without having to wait the ridulous times most other dental have from their over booking.Yes I definitely recommend them.

Well done. Of course this is my first experience with Dr Gatzonis. But after coming from Dr Paul Symeonides at 31-14 Ditmars, this was a very professional and courteous office to go to. Family friendly too. I noticed kids going there were treated warmly by Dr Gatzonis. Reminds me of my early days with Ditmars Dental Concepts office at 31-14. By “early days” I mean pre-2015 when Dr Paul’s ex-wife still worked there
I came to see Dr. Gatzonis in an emergency dental situation during Covid. The first thing I noticed was the amount of effort and care they put into protecting both the patients and staff during this unique time. When I saw Dr. Gatzonis about my broken teeth, he took the time to answer all my questions and walked me through the process. He did a good job with my teeth and I would highly recommend him to anyone whos looking for a clean, professional, and kind dentist.
Doctor George V. Gatzonis and his staff are amazing! It truly is in the name Ditmars Family. They look out for you and make you feel comfortable and safe. The office is very clean and the staff is polite. They took their time to explain everything. Ximena at the front desk was very sweet and welcoming. Dr. Gatzonis was professional, and again explained what was going on and gave me choices. Of course I want the best outcome for my smile but I like that I knew and understood what was going on.I am so happy to say that I FINALLY found my dentist. Thank you!

This was an excellent visit. Everybody was extremely nice, and makes me feel very comfortable......... all was geared up for the COVID19 pandemic. The place was spotless and did proper sanitizing.Dr. Gatzonis does an amazing job and I’m in and out in record time. And his assistant Artesian is very very nice The biggest problem is waiting a long time for an appointment, but it’s worth the wait
Easy to make an appointment. Convenient location. Ease of check in. Cleanliness and strict covid precautions!!!! The dental hygienist and dentist were very nice, efficient, and did an amazing job. All covid safety precautions were taken seriously and I felt completely comfortable!!! My children even had a very positive experience and wanted to go back!
My last visit at Ditmars Family Dental was as always a positive experience. The facilities are well organized, clean and orderly with enormous precautions taken regarding Covid19. My appointment and treatment was on time prompt and efficient. Ditmars Family Dental gives me a sense of comfort and trust that I am well and safely taken care of.
I love this place. I have been coming here 6 years. The office RUNS ON TIME which is incredible in the Healthcare industry. I would be in and out without missing work. Hallelujah. The hygienist, I think her name is Marie, is the most efficient and thorough cleaning person Ive ever had. They have been able to accommodate me same/next day with problem visits. Also, they have not tried to sell me what I dont need. The doctor is very honest and is not trying to upsell whitening or anything. If I do get whitening it will definitely be through them, not some groupon/coupon/discount sketchy place, because I know they would do a good job and whatever product they would choose would be good quality.
I hadn’t been to the dentist in a few years and a big reason was Becasue i absolutely can’t stand being shamed by doctors, beauticians, etc. When i arrived at. Ditmars family dental, i was terrified and ready to tell them these reasons i hadn’t had a cleaning in so long and i definitely had my dukes up. But to my surprise, i walked into the kindest dentists office I’ve ever been to. I told them i was terrified and they were nothing by kind and understanding and talked to me every step of the way to help me be calm. Absolutely no shaming whatsoever. I’m so happy that i finally found my dentist. And to top it off, no cavities! Definitely choose this place to be your regular dentist.

I absolutely love this office. The staff are very professional and pleasant. I always check bathrooms before I can say a place is clean and their bathroom is always spotless. I have had a lot of work done (mostly maintenance) and scheduled for a few more (implants and Invisalign).Pros: excellent dentist work and professional staff.Con: parking is a nightmare on Ditmars.
This was my first time at this practice, as I’d always gone to dentists in Manhattan until the pandemic. I was very pleasantly surprised at the professionalism and friendliness of this practice and that such a great practice exists right here in Astoria! I really loved them and will stay with them.

The staff at Ditmars Family dental are incredible. I had a wisdom tooth removed with very minimal pain. Their dentists are very knowledgeable and patient.
Dr.G is the only dentist we use. My parents and sibling, myself and now my wife and daughter have been getting our teeth done at Dr. Gs for as far back as I can remember. We have seen him for something as small as a cleaning to major issues root canals and implants. He is definitely good at what he does and very understanding of the situation. We wont go anywhere else. He is the best imo!Ps. Four stars is the most i give on reviews unless im knocked off my feet in a good way or given an 80lb gold bar!!
The entire practice has very strict anti COVID-19 measures in place. I felt very safe and was taken care of with compassion and gentleness. I’m not a fan of having dental work done, but they made it the best it can be!

Amazing service excellent atmosphere professional and courteous.Very friendly explained my treatment the process in detail. I have to say the best experience I have ever had at any dentist. I have been with them for over 9yrs..And have always been terrified of anyone touching my teeth but the cleanings are great I never feel anything and no cavities!!!I Yay! Everyone should try them.

I had never been inside before, but after a partial tooth filling dislodged, I needed a dentist to take a look at the tooth and fix the problem. The staff here was very nice and helped put me at ease immediately. We X-Rayed the tooth and it turned out that what I really needed was a root canal procedure. And heres the thing, the procedure went smoothly and pain-free. The doctor was attentive, filled me in on the procedure and how things were going, and had me fixed up in no time with a repaired tooth and a follow-up visit.And they did this for me with nearly no notice. I was extremely impressed and plan to use them as my primary dental office. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the doctors are attentive and know their stuff. I couldnt have asked for better.

Dr. Greco performed a wisdom tooth extraction. He was great. Professional, patient, kind. He explained everything that would happen before, during and after and he was sympathetic to me being very nervous. Dr Gatzonis runs a great practice and clearly hires great people.
Let me start by saying all of a sudden I started to get the most excruciating pain from almost all corners of my mouth.And of course the worst possible time to get dental pain is during the covid-19 crisis as (mostly) everything was shutdown.Ximena, at the front desk, who answered my call initially wanted to make sure it was a dental emergency as the office was open only for emergencies during covid times.Once determined it was an emergency they made time for me the next day.Office was super clean, they even took my temperature to make sure I didnt have a fever.Thanks to Dr. G. and his staff (sorry dont remember the assistants name) Im on my way to being pain free.

Long time patient of Dr. Gatzonis, booked appointment, only to be told upon arrival that they no longer accept the plan. Even thought that in itself wasnt true, since it did not take effect. When challenged they offered to take me in but for any future appointment I would be responsible, since they filed with insurance to be removed from the plan.Shouldnt they have told me at the time I booked the appointment? Bad practice, customer service!

Always a good experience with the doctor but this time had a different hygienist and I missed the scraping of my plaque that usually takes more time than just the electric machine cleaning so I felt that my teeth were not cleaned as much as usually done.

2022-04-27Very happy. They saw me quickly, explained the cost range beforehand and preformed an extraction with minimal amount of pain or discomfort. The surgeon was very professional and efficient. The local anesthesia was more than ample to handle it. It was all over before I even knew it. What a blessing. My options and risks were carefully explained to me and I was even given an estimate of the work considered necessary. The extraction and consult including a panoramic X-Ray was reasonably priced compared to what Ive seen elsewhere. My neighbors recommended this place and Im very glad they did. I would recommend this place to anyone that needs an extraction or other services.

2022-01-19I have been a patient in this practice since it’s inception and I have never been disappointed by either the support staff’s friendly and welcoming attitude or the dental treatment of the primary dentist, Dr. George Gatzonis, or any of the specialists which he incorporates into his practice. So, if u are interested in a family practice which treats u as “family” while providing u with cutting edge contemporary treatment— this is the practice for you. Also, given the health concerns that we are all dealing with at this time, the fact that this practice has updated and modified the ventilation system in order to ensure public safety and is enforcing SDC guidelines in its practice, should allow all of us to feel that we are being treated by a practice committed to both our safety and our dental well being. All in all, I choose, and u should too, feel both safe and well served by the Ditmars Family practice in Astoria, NY .

2022-03-04Top of the top in dentistry! I’ve been a patient for many years of Dr Gatzonis and have never had a bad experience. Oddly enough, I’m even excited to go sometimes! Haha! All jokes aside, I highly recommend Ditmars Family Dental. You won’t regret it !

2022-01-29I have my teeth cleaned here regularly, and I always have a pleasant experience. I was late once and expected a problem, but they still provided the care I needed. There are so many very nice people to name, but in my 10 years or so, I haven’t had to worry about going to the dentist.

2022-02-26We are patients for years. The dental hygienist is wonderful, thorough yet gentle and explains everything. Dr Gatzonis is kind and polite and always takes the time to explain everything in detail.

2022-02-10Dr. G. Is awesome! As an anxious person, Dr. G takes his time to explain everything to me and has a way of making me feel okay about all of the work needing to be performed. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Clean and safe office. I am so happy to have found Ditmars Family Dental!Always wonderful to me!

2022-06-21It was a terrible experience !!! i need to call my insurance back and change this dentist. i guess my skin color had sometime to do with the treatment i received .
