John refurbished my 20+ year old PA system, saving me almost $1,000 not having to buy a new one. After quickly diagnosing the issue, he handled ordering & installing the replacement parts, as well as polished the entire unit making it look brand new! 100% would recommend.
I brought my oven display board to John with some bad connections. He cleaned and refurbished the loose solder joints in less than an hour. The oven now works like new! This saved me hundreds of dollars — maybe much more if I needed to buy a new oven. Excellent work!!!
After struggle to repair my vintage turntable at home, John took a crack at it and got it working better than it ever has. There was an incredibly annoying buzz that grew louder over time and after checking all ground connections, it seemed like some kind of impossible job, but John quickly and professionally figured out some repair that is beyond my comprehension and I am so happy I brought the turntable to him for repair. I would hands down recommend him and use him again in the future.
Brought in my tube amp that hadnt been working for over a year. Found Dr. Electronics on line and brought it in for service. Within a week I got my amp back and it sounds amazing. Liked the service so much I brought in a second amp that was sounding kind of muddy. Now I have two great sounding amps again. Glad I found this service. Highly recommend!!
John did a great job on My Thorens Turntable. Very quick repair. Very fair price and i have had it for two weeks since the repair and it is working flawlessly! He is also great to talk to and it was great being in his shop and talking audio with him. Highly recommended.
I brought John a control board from my Maytag electric oven. I thought I had a bad relay and expressed that to him. A few hours later John called to tell me the relay was good the problem lies in the connection point which he re soldered. Outstanding service and honesty both of which are hard to find these days. THANK YOU SO MUCH
John did an awesome job replacing all 11 bulbs in my McIntosh MC202 amp. The amp is rare and sought after, he came to my apt and picked it up and handled it with care. Did a fabulous job and never felt uncomfortable dealing with him. I will always use and recommend John for all electronic repairs.
I was lucky enough to happen upon Doctor Electronics on Thanksgiving when our Sharp Flat screen blew for no apparent reason. John met me on Thanksgiving and I had the tv back a day later. True professional - knows exactly what he is doing and honest and priced completely fair. John is someone I will certainly recommend to friends and thrilled to have someone to call on in the future. Rare find these days!
I dont think this man has any idea what hes doing. I paid him to repair a powered speaker and the first time I used it at a function it still had the same problem. I took it back to him and he wanted to charge me an additional charge for the same speaker he claimed he already fixed. I refused and went to retrieve my equipment and he refused to refund my money. He said he would give me a credit of $50. I paid $140, unacceptable. Unacceptable because Ill never use his services again. He is very unprofessional, I was told i would get my invoices and receipts emailed to me and that never happened. BEWARE...HE IS A CON MAN. HE TRIES TO GET YOU TO BUY A $1200 SERVICE CONTRACT THAT ONLY GIVES YOU FREE PICK AND DELIVERY AND CHECK OUT CHARGE! REALLY $1200 FOH!
I needed my Mesa guitar amp repaired but I need someone local. John quickly diagnosed the problem and informed me of the solution . His work is impeccable which to me is very important . I will be recommending John to all who is looking for quality and professionalism at its best .
I am a busy musician. I have lots of gear. Todays new stuff just isnt so great sometimes, Dr Electronics has fixed every item that has gone bad for me, and once he does, its done and its done right. Totally professional, great pricing and its like taking your gear to a good friend. I would highly recommend Dr Electronics!
I own a night club in Astoria. I had trouble with my audio equipment and it was 3 hours before a wedding reception. Went on the internet found Doctor Electronics repair service they came within the hour and repaired the audio equipment and the sound system was better than before.I would highly recommend this service.
This guy is an absolute CROOK! Stay far away! Do not come here for any service whatsoever. He’s a scam artist, a liar, and a crook. I am speaking from first hand experience. He took my money, and after a week did not fix my TV and then would not give me a refund. We had cops involved. He is a SCAM artist that works out of his garage. Move on to someone legitimate.I read John’s reply and just want to clarify a few things for everyone out there thinking about using this crooks service.1) when I called he told me I had to put down a $40 “deposit” which he never returned to me, even though he did not perform any service whatsoever.2) I then gave him ANOTHER $125 on top of the $40 to order a part for my TV. He told me that it was $90, but if I wanted the TV repaired quickly I had to pay $125 for overnight delivery. That was on a Tuesday.3) I asked that day, when will it be ready? He said, “couple of days.” I tried to clarify what that vague timeline meant and said, “like when? Friday?” And he said, “yea, Friday.”4) Friday rolls around - 4 days after I gave him $125, 5 days after I gave him the initial $40, and I’ve heard nothing. So I call at 5pm. He tells me he is still planning to order the part. Planning to order it?? I gave you $125 to get it shipped overnight to be done by Friday, and now on Friday at 5pm he hasn’t even ORDERED the part yet. He then lies and tells me he’s on the other line right now with the part manufacturer, so I said, “merge the calls, I want to hear what’s going on.” And after pretending he didn’t hear me say that twice, I finally say it a third time and he confesses that he’s not on the other line at all with anyone. It was a lie. The whole thing is a lie. He’s a scam artist. He didn’t even look for a part yet.5) after that he VERY RUDELY says I’m not working on your TV anymore, I’ll call you in an hour and you can come pick it up - I’ll give you the $125 back...meanwhile I gave him $165 total so far, so what about the other $40??6) now the story changes - the $40 deposit is now a “checkout fee” - whatever that is...and he refuses to give it to me. So I went there and refused to leave his shop until he paid me my money back in full SINCE HE DIDNT PROVIDE ME WITH ANY SERVICE! He didn’t even bother to call me to tell me he didn’t have the part yet and it wouldn’t be ready by Friday like he had told me it would - I had to call him at 5pm on Friday. Had I not, he prob would have just taken my money and never called because he’s a crook. I know a crook when I see one and I saw it in him.7) Then I’m at his shop demanding my full $165 back and he changes his mind and says he’s not gonna pay me any of my money back now. That is why the cops were called.8) the cops ABSOLUTELY did not side with him. The cop apologized to me over and over and told me personally that he didn’t think it was right that he was keeping all the money and not giving me a full refund because...once again...HE PROVIDED ME WITH NO SERVICE! The cop got him to give me the $125 and the TV back which he was also not letting me take. The cop said there was nothing else I could do for the other $40 but take him to small claims court - which btw, I AM doing - not because $40 means a lot to me. I could care less about the money. It’s the principle of the matter. He performed absolutely no service, so he should not keep any of my money. I’ll get my $40 from this crook at the courts9) one last note about the “signs in his workspace” he mentioned. Give me a break! This guy works out of what I can only refer to as a cluttered hoarders garage. The place is about 300 Sq Ft and only about 20 Sq Ft is walkable. There are cabinets, dressers, furniture, electronics, scattered everywhere. The walls are filled with beer signs, random dry erase boards with math equations, all types of joke signs - no reasonable person in the world would be reading every nonsense sign in his hoarders paradise to make sure that there was nothing important hidden amongst the mess.Fact is this guy is a crook. You want a crook - hire him, but you’ve been warned
Im absolutely stunned that this guy would get 5 stars from anybody. My tv sat in his office for over 4 months. Every time I contacted him to get an update, he made up a new lie. I have it in my texts since he never actually called me himself to give me an update on my tv; literally not one phone call. He would text only after I called and decided to text cause he wasnt answering my calls. In these texts, I documented around 10 lies about the status of my tv, which included the problem, the parts ordered, etc. He also TOOK $75 from me to order the part. Two months goes by and the parts never came meanwhile he said it would be fixed within a week. Two more months go by and I just couldnt take it anymore, so I had to go get back my tv. He WOULD NOT give me my $75 (even though he said he would give me half, which is ridiculous in amongst itself). I literally paid him $110 to not fix my tv. My advice: Spend the little bit extra to get to a legit business or soemone who knows how to operate a business properly from their home. Good luck.
Took my Thorens 166MkII, Conrad Johnson PV12 Pre Amp and McIntosh MC2105 Amp out of storage. Brought it all to Jon for a Tune up. He replaced tubes, rewired the turntable and checked out the amp. Cool runnins listening to old albums now. No computer menus, just on and off switches and an old fashioned volume control!!!!Thank you Jon!
John the owner responded to Baldwin Harbor, NY to troubleshoot my marine stereo. John found the problem with the stereo and repaired it. John is very reliable and I would definitely recommend his services. He saved me money because Jensen stereo technician stated that the amplifier was shot when in fact it was not. Saved me money. Highly recommend this shop!!

2022-06-14John is the REAL DEAL! After diagnosing the issue with a Denon turntable I had just acquired, he helped me discover that I actually had a working chip in another turntable of mine that I could use to repair this one. After swapping the processors he got it back up and running perfectly. I cannot thank him enough and will be recommending him to everyone I know for repairs.

2022-06-07John, was exceptional. I had two wireless Shure microphones that would not turn on and I tried everything, including calling Shure and no one would help me. I called Dr. Electronics and he looked at the microphone figured out what the problem was, kept me informed, and my wireless microphones are back working fine. 2021-12-06I had a great experience with the owner! He was very affordable and extremely professional. I would recommend him For any electronic work you may need. He not only saved me about $500 by repairing the 2 power control boards that I had for a wolf oven, He turned the boards around in 48 hours! He also gave me a lesson in electronics and testing. Ill be using him exclusively for all my electronics outsourcing for my business from now on. Not to mention I tried to tip him by buying him lunch and throwing him a little extra and he Respectfully declined. I have nothing but good things to say about this man and his practice. he is very professional and very knowledgeable And I feel as if Ive made a friend and business contact for years to come. I assembled the oven and Everything works like a charm. So without a doubt in my mind this man knows what hes doing.
