Super friendly and helpful staff, store has been clean each time Ive been and their staff always helps when I can find something I need!
Really easy to quickly find what I need and check out without having to stand long . I like card shopping there. They have many choices and great quality.
Im always treated very kindly by all the staff I encounter there. The afternoon staff especially. Its close and convenient. Customer satisfaction is my main reason for my 5 stars.

The College Ave store, near Elmira heights is the best of all of them in the area! Its neat, clean, organized, and has a large amount of stock. Its a pleasure to shop there!

Somewhat nice. But Dollar in the name is a bit out of context. A lot of items in that store are expensive compared to other stores. This store seems tight to move around in.

The store on the inside is okay Sometimes cluttered I dont mind that but the outside is disgusting garbage piled up next to the propane looks like a homeless squatter sat there

2018-03-01Defiantly not horrible, but could use a broom and mop. I have been here a couple of times and it looked as though it hadnt been cleaned in days. When it 1st opened it wasnt as bad. Its progressively gotten worse over time. Given the area though I dont really blame the store as much as I do the people shopping there.

2019-07-10Love this place. They finally remodeled and things are looking great and stuff is easy to find. So happy they have a larger selection of groceries. Ive always loved the staff! Great work guys

2020-03-16This is a nice Dollar General. Always have friendly helpful staff. If you havent been to a Dollar General, you can get so many things there and their prices on some things are better than larger area grocery stores.

2019-06-01I know this place well and I know they are always there to help a stressed out Momma now and again. Customers are that frequent are pretty much family. Very polite store. They make sure to keep their staff the same!

2018-07-28I am handicap and I went into my local Dollar General on College Ave. I wanted to purchase two summer outdoor chairs and went inside to as the 1st person at the register right inside the door. He was the manager. I asked if he could bring in the 2 brown chairs so I could purchase them, I wanted to make sure I got to purchase them. I had a few things to get and I would pay for them when I checked out. I typically spent about $125 a week in their store. I started to shop had not put anything in my cart but after thinking about what said & the manager was so rude to me. He knew I was handicap and really did need assistance and said you have to bring them in yourself. Well I turned around and as I got to my car I watched him come out side grabbed the two chairs. After I got into my car and was getting settled and just before I left he walked the two chairs out to a none handicap persons car for her. Well I went down the street and now my money goes to them. They only had 1 of the same type of chairs & I bought it anyway plus the store clerk without asking followed me to my car and put it in for me. Dollar General over by Save alot off of lake street. Very clean store and helpful too. Im getting to know where everything is. Rudeness is something I do not appreciate especially after dropping close to $400 - $500 a week not including what my husband spent a month as well. As long as that Dollar General on College Ave, Elmira NY likes to be rude thats okay as the dollar General over by Save a lot loves me as a customer and my money. If you get tired of the tiredness on College Ave, you will always be treat kindly and they are very helpfully and if need be help you out.
