The store is always cluttered with boxes and messy. Employees ghetto(filthy shirts, body odor and headscarves) and apparently do not like working with people..
The store needs cleaning inside and out. Too congested. Needs to have a security guard to help stop panhandlers from approaching people.Not safe at times to go there.
I buy alot of random things here because its next door, pork rinds and laundry boosters that are on sale are always out of stock. So if you see an expensive on sale for pennies snatch it. Staff is nice, the store stays decent. Best thing to buy here is laundry items, housewares, and mini appliances. Handmixer is $10, iron I think is $10, personal blender $16. I dont use hand mixer everyday, but its a good brand for the price. I dont need an iron, or a blender, but its nice to know they carry stuff like that. Silicone spatula red tip wooden handle is $1, I wish they had more colors. But small things for the house... this the place to go. They have a 3-4 pair pack of blue utility (plastic) gloves for a dollar, I mention these because I have big hands, in between my amazon order of xl gloves, I go to family dollar. Im not waiting 2 days to clean my house. Electric heaters are a no, anything electronic I wouldnt expect to last more than a year, so go to target or best buy for Bluetooth speakers. Target had a sound bar for $50. So I would hop on one that would last longer than the $30 stand up speakers. The reason they dont get 5*s is because the outside which is nothing they can really do about it, so yeah :)
An experience...made a call over pa asking if employees were all ok during our visit. Dont know the area well, but have never heard that at a store before.
Dont shop there much but when I do always find what I need the employees are very helpful also friendly

2021-11-25They barely have what I need when I go in there. Stores need to be restocked. I always see many employees working so not sure what the issue is. The one on W. Main is way better!

2021-02-02This particular Family Dollar is extremely ghetto!!! Some of the staff is friendly but the rest are rude and uninterested in their jobs, food is always close to expired (especially 🥛 milk), the stock job is messy at best, items are usually thrown all about the floors of the isles and good luck having more than one register open. Last time I was there, it was one register open, with 5 staff persons behind the counter and a line stretching down an isle all the way back to the back of the store. I only go to the store out of necessity & convenience, never out of good experience.

2021-10-04The family dollar was very nasty, they had boxes on the floor and the people who worked there where using profanity around the women and the children that where in the store at the time that I was the shopping. I never go back too that store ever again.

2021-06-17Always close the store before closed time. like.. they close at 10pm, so why at 9:32pm its closed? with out a new sign or something. went differents days and samething, was closed more than 15 min early.. riduculous!!

2019-01-13Its getting VERY expensive to be a dollar store!! They need to change the damn name!! Also if the workers would stop talking and laughing amongst each other and help the customers the lines would go faster!!! The credit/debit machines NEVER work!! Then the outside look like a trash can with all the garbage around it!! You cant get in the door for bums always hanging around begging! The inside is so cluttered its pathetic!! I only go there bcz its not far from my home sometimes! Ugh!

2018-05-10Just visited your Gennesee & Stewart Street store and l left there angry as hell my first bad experience was that I walked into the store with a utility cart and purchase a few item went to the charcoal display which is in front of the door and I heard one of the gays putting away grocery say locked the door I tried to forget what was said by telling one of the other floor guys what was said in a laughing manner. so I whenup to the cashier guy and asked him where could I find a item and he got nasty we also exchanged word about how I wanted the merchandise that I purchase. I do not need to be humiliated when I am spending my money so would definitely love to talk with a general manager about this situation

2017-09-27Cramped. Unorganized. Filthy outside walkway area. Fights in the parking lot and bootleggers trying to hustle blank DVDs to people and sell reservation cigarettes right outside the stores main entrance. Hookers turning tricks in the far corners of the parking lot. The locals act like they dont see or even care. You would THINK that people would treat businesses in their own neighborhood with more respect. But no. Dont shop there.

2019-06-15Some of their prices are pretty reasonable, however when I got home and went through everything I bought, three of the items were missing from the bag. This could be an issue with only the employee who was working, but I will never go back to this particular location!

2016-07-23An average family dollar. Prices are good. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. They do tend to run out of cash so cash back is not always an option.
