For a corona restaurant huge disappointment. tasteless, cold food and unfriendly service then they automatically add 20% tip. the food had no salt or flavor god damn also cash only even worse

3different Waitresses attended us and the 3 of them had a horrible attitude when we asked nicely can I please get a cup with ice can I get ketchup for my fries and green sauce please literally my food was cold by the time they bought my sauces and they refused to give me ice and a cup for my drink so bad I would put no star and apart I would give them a low percentage of tip no thats not even a option the tips is already included 😡😡😡
I tried the churrasco asado it was meh, not the best place for eating a tasteful steak, trust me, it was a little hard to chew, the flavor was not really good, the seasoning was not the adequate for this plate, i consider.If you are really looking for a good T bone steak go away from here and try somewhere else. There are many places where you can find more pleasing steaks with better flavor and texture for the same price.
Samgria is OK, but expensive, parrilada meats are way overcooked, hard to bite. The waitress are excellent- good customer service, but they need to improve their foods.
I am a customer that buys here on a regular. This time I have had enough with the bad customer service. One there rice is always undercooked but the fact that I told them 4 times on the phone to not give me yellow rice and when I come home and I have yellow rice. When I call them and they tell me that they are going to charge me to deliver white rice when it was there fault. I am never ordering from here again.On a side note. None of the servers had masks on.
First of all, 20% of gratuity? The service was really bad, they don’t pay attention, food was oily and the rice was raw, three portions and the 3 of them raw, that is not a mistake, very disappointing, not worthy for the place and the area where are they located, I’ve Payed less in better places and with better service.
I feel the quality of their food dimished over the years. I still like their sangria though :)

You guys are theives! You took advantage of my 75 year old mother! You guys charged 29 dollars for a tiny order of food and the delivery guy took $35 and gave her $5 back! I’ll be making a report and I have your delivery man on camera.
My honest opinion of this restaurant is that it lacks customer service and employs shady selling tactics. Please note I have been to this restaurant on several occasions to buy their roasted chicken and/or the individual containers of sauce and never had an issue. On this particular instance, I went to purchase their sauce. While a waitress was placing the small containers in a bag, another waitress, under her breath, whispered to the waitress assisting me that I had to buy something off their menu before selling me their sauce. Who made her sauce Queen? On a serious note, the way I was treated left a sour taste in my mouth. I will not be returning to this establishment and advising my friends and family to buy their chicken and sauce elsewhere.P.S. Besides the chicken and sauce, their other food items are not worth the trip. Would not recommend!
I usually don’t order from don Alex unless it’s from Roosevelt ave & I said why not, let’s give it a try and honestly the food was disgusting and disappointing ! The rice was hard. It seemed to be some left over rice that they just happened to heat up. I order a lomo saltado & aroz de marisco. It made me sick. Waist of 40$
If you want good, flavorful, and moist rotisserie chicken this is definitely the place to come. Their prices are very fair but you just need to make sure you keep an eye on the bill as at times they include tip.
It just to be way better, unfortunately the flavor now is not there. Seems that they have changed the cookI was there last night we all came out disappointed. We all ordered different dishes (ceviche, sopa a la minuta, tallarines verdes, and fried fisher filete )I hope one day it will recover the flavor from old days. I ordered a roasted chicken for pickup and when I got there they didnt know who took my order. what got into my nerves is that Ive been ordering from them for years and they didnt seem to care at all. too bad because the chicken is actually good to be honest, but theres a lot of peruvian chicken places around that have better customer service.
The whole staff is shady. They brought us our food and over charged us. The price on the menu was not the same on the bill. When asking for the manager, he basically ran away and didnt come back. They said we knew what was going on and did nothing so now we have to pay that price on the bill. They claim they let us know what was going on but didnt. They are shady and unlawful. Dont recommend this place. Always make sure you know what is going on in the restaurant before even ordering. They trick you. They over charge and then claim you knew what was going on. Plus the waitress was horrible. The food came late and the they charged for something we didnt order. Not worth it. Dont go to this place. I was with my family. They lost 13 customers because of their shady business. Please i advise you not to go to this place especially if you want fair and unshady business. Go somewhere else and youll come out happy. Do not go here.
My wife and I went here for a baby shower in their private room in the basement. The room had good space, and was very pretty after decorations were put up. The food was awesome; I dont know what it is called, but there was a dish that had a chicken salad under a mashed potato/yucca topping.
I went to this restaurant 2 years ago and it was a great experience, but the food now is disappointing specially if you order the steak or the sea food. We order 2 steaks well done and 2 medium well. instead we got two steaks rear and all four steaks had the meat really hard. Then we order a shrimp stew but it was cold. The waitresses gave a good service. If i go to this restaurant again i will only order steak soup, and the flan. This restaurant has to bring the quality of their food up before their loose their clientele. also it has a sanitation grade of C.
Food was alright, nothing to write home about. Service seemed alright in the beginning but got terrible toward the end. They exhort 18% tip for bad service. Two of us went for dinner on Saturday night around 7pm. There seemed to be more waitresses than customers. We ordered drinks, ceviche mixto, and lomo saltado. Ceviche was decent, chicken and beef in saltado was overcooked and chewy. Waitresses were young and attractive but seem quite undertrained. They didnt get us any water until my husband asked for a glass well into mid way of the meal. They kept asking us if we were done while we were still eating...and we are not particularly slow eaters. When they brought me a check,18% tip was already included in the check. I wasnt happy, but I dutifully pulled my wallet out to pay. While I was placing cash onto the check folder, a waitress came to the table and said to me Are you done? I thought that was extremely rude for her to basically demand I hand over her the money as she stood over me at the table. I was about done, so I handed her the money with the bill. She went behind the bar and counted the money in plain view. She quickly glanced over toward me and motioned another waitress to come over and as they talked, she was pointing at me. Our bill came out to be $47.58 including 18% tip. I gave them $47. Another waitress, who spoke little English came over to me to say I didnt pay the full amount. I pointed out 18% tip was already included and asked if 18% tip was mandatory. She didnt seem to understand. So I simplified it for her said that I want to pay 58 cents less for 18% tip included in the check. She said she will talk to the manager, spoked to another woman behind the bar and told me it was okay for me to go. I felt like I just got exhorted. My husband got back from restroom at that moment and I explained to him what just happened. The manager must have heard what I said to my husband, so she said We will see you again next time as we walked out the door. No thanks you, never again.
This is my mothers favorite place to order (shes Peruvian). I have certain diet needs thus I asked her to order a side of rice for me. She did and they sent fries, she called and the lady on the phone told her she was wrong and that she asked for fries not rice. I dont think so! My mother not wanting to argue decided to hang up because she refused to admit they made an error and were unwilling to fix it. So here I am writing a review instead of having dinner. Trust me sending over a side of rice would have been in your companies best interest.If you enjoy a company who blames the customer for their mistakes instead of being able to admit their mistakes and rectify them this is the place to order from.Edit: I also had her order a side of maduros, the box they came in was completely mushed and the bag they were in was soaked in oil. I ate three and found a fry in the missile of the mushed up maduro blob. The rest of the order was up to my mothers standards, but epic failure on my two requested items.
The food here was ok, I liked it. Service was meh on a Saturday night. But.... I get it , this restaurant is very local and they try to stay humble which I really appreciate. The green sauce and the chicken were so so. I have had better at Tu Casa, I am addicted.

They need to improve their customer service. It took them like 40 minutes to take our order. After a long waiting, they forgot two of our orders. On top of that they turned off the air conditioner. Food it was okay.

I really like this place. Really good food but it annoys me to no end why they have neon Coors lite, Corona lite and Corona signs on the walls of their restaurant and to top it off you dont serve these beers at the place. Not only are these free marketing signs hideous but they give a trashy overall image to the business. Cmon Alex (whatever your name is) watch some Bar rescue for some tips!Update: 7/24/15What is up with these NEON SIGNS?! I came and asked again for Coors Lite or Corona (not that i like them i prefer IPA) and to no avail. I do like the food but the beer situation makes me nuts.Update 12/16/18They finally have Corona but drank water. Still prefer IPA.
Ive called on 3 different occasions to place an order for pick up. And all 3 times Ive had to wait 15 minutes after arriving. The waitresses get attitudes after being asked how long my food will take. Worst service ever!
This review is mostly based on Don Alex great food taste. I lived around the area for sometime and I can honestly say the chicken is phenomenal, as well as the price.Things they need to improve?The whole idea of putting 18% tip on the bill without asking bugs me. I am not a cheap person but the tip should be earned (by default everyone should leave at least 14% or more) and not feel like it is established. Like other yelpers have voiced out, if you dont look carefully on the bill most likely you will end up tipping double..... Which is Okey if deserve it, but should not feel like someone is trying to pull a fast one on you.Other than that, food still great lol
Usually they are the greatest of host but tonight I drove all the way from brooklyn and at 1015pm they refused my service, saying theyre closed first all its a business that states they close at 11pm. A business is a business dont state you close at 11pm if your going to refuse service THAN CLOSE YOUR DOORS RUDEE.
I was a bit scared to come here after reading the negative reviews. I still gave it a try and I have to say no regret on this end. the food was good the service was good but it was their shakes that blew me away. the only thing I dont like is that tips are included in the check 14%
Good food for Rego Park. Nothing spectacular.Rotisserie Chicken is exactly what it should be. Delicious. Sides were good. Green sauce was MUCH BETTER than expected.

Service is consistent. Good overall. Perhaps getting the credit card machine working. Cash is not always affective. There should an option than just cash.

The food is delicious (hence the stars) but the service leaves a bit to be desired. We waited a long time for the appetizer to be brought to us and when they did 2 minutes later the main course arrived and we ended up with all the food and drinks at the same time on the table. What I did like, apart from the food, was that they are not after you to get out of there quickly like in other places. The atmosphere is nice too.
Some dishes are good but not excellent, if you are lucky they serve you well, the manager or manager is not even visible, I get the impression that they have no experience or only worked in the same place and never worked for a real restaurant where you see the presence of the manager who checks tables, dishes and not only count money, remember a happy customer recommends more customers

Very bad service when answering the calls and when delivering the food I called for a combo 3 they told me to come and pick it up in 10 minutes it was my husband the waitress told me that she waits for him to attract him she was waiting up to 40 minutes and my order never came out better I had to cancel it. I ordered a seafood jelly and a chaufa rice .... totally disappointed with the seafood jelly .... the seafood was hard and overheated for nothing edible ... disappointed for having paid for that dish so mediocre and lousy, or what let alone pickle ... as a chef and connoisseur of South American gastronomy 100% disappointed ..... previous times I have had bad experiences such as when I found a hair in my fries wrapped, as when apparently they billed me 2 sometimes the same voucher ... and now they give me a dry, cold and reheated seafood jelly .... unfortunately bad experiences are paid for with money ... what a shame and disappointment ... obviously this is the last time I vote my money in the trash ...

The food is tasty. I give it an 8/10 on seasoning. The service of the waitresses not very good. They cant wait for everyone to finish eating, they start to lift the dishes for you in an uncomfortable way. If you ask for something to take away they bring you the container to make it on the table, very unprofessional, it seems they are lazy to put it on to take away. I had to stay crouched for a long time until one of the waitresses does that on me. Very annoying that.

I eat Peruvian and. Knowing the seasoning of a green taalin was the worst food the noodles also jumped the worst apart the cheese face of the despot manager is about to be there. 3 HOURS FOR A DELIVERY .... The manager is a despota, I ordered a chaufa rice and when I was in the middle of having eaten a fried cockroach came out and the manager never showed his face just sending the waitress to say it was a rice husk and that we did not see the 7 people who were having dinner, I think you need good glasses or even better to change people like him. I am not the first case and heard many more, so I would not go back to that place.

Unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired. the waitresses wanted to close the restaurant at 10.40pm. When the place says 11pm. However, we were told that there were no a la carte dishes at that time and only grilled chicken remained. The table, apparently Colombian with blonde hair, did not give us much choice, yet we decided to eat only chicken. But the worst came after what in the middle of the meal. They started closing the restaurant with us eating half the dinner. That is, cleaning, sweeping, lifting the chairs on the tables ...? Including the tables around us. All an insult to the diner.Definitely, I would not recommend going to that Peruvian restaurant with very poor service. Seriously dont spend $ 75 like this on me.

In fact, I had been told a lot about this place that my expectation was very high when I arrived and it is nothing to write home about ... Pretty regular in my opinion and I have tried much better dishes in some other restaurants in the same sector.

Definitely, that cook does not know how to make rice, todays lousy rice, rather a mess I had to throw away I hope not to return

Hi, I was at the Restaurant and they served very bad food and very bad service and apart from a manager, an uneducated person who does not know how to treat the client. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE VERY BAD FOOD !!!!
On Sunday April 8 2018 I went to eat with my family at exactly 9:30 PM when the waitress came in saying that they closed at 10PM and that they could no longer serve us first she said that the kitchen was closed and then she said that if we wanted to take away , I am very sorry because I am a client of many years and what a pity that being 9:30 am they can no longer serve anyone !!

They gave me squid from another day, they just heated it up, I couldnt eat it, I was eating rubber instead of Jelly anymore.

The food is on something but the problem is when they charge you they dont give you the receipt and they charge you what they want as a tip and they tell you that its the owners order to charge 30% tip.
I like several dishes especially the baked chicken because before baking it they add a sauce that gives a delicious flavor to the chicken.

Unfortunately I ordered a barbecue and it turned out very badly the meat was already rotten the meat has to check the meat before cooking

2022-06-12Cleanness is 4 out of 5, cooking 3 out of 5, and customer service 5 out of 5. This is a good restaurant to eat Latin food. Their menu is big. I like their rotisserie and Chicha Morada. This is a Latin restaurant, menu and people both. Staff will help you to understand menu items. Busy place, more tables would be better.

2020-08-03I had a very pleasant experience here despite how busy their restaurant was, we got our table quick, and the order came within 20 minutes, our waiters were very nice, and they continued to ask us how we were doing, also the staff happened to be very happy and polite people. I ordered the lomo saltado mixto, and ceviche mixto, it was very very good, I highly recommend ordering the lomo saltado mixto when you come here, I wasn’t much of a fan for the ceviche, but it was nice trying that for my first time

2022-01-12The food quality is not there anymore. We order a jalea last time and there was barely no fish and on top most of jalea was burned. We also ordered chicken 3 hours ahead as a pick and when we got there the order wasnt even ready and the chicken wasnt well cooked Really disappointed about it.

2021-12-27Um hi my name is Ever I am Peruvian and this is by far the worst Peruvian restaurant I have ever attended. They gave me an hot inka kola with no ice. Then they proceeded to give me ice but it had black stuff in it and when I told them to change it they just took out the ice put new and didn’t even clean the cup because it had soda in it still. Service was bad and refused to help my family understand the dish. Also tip is included and that is not right. Will definitely not be coming back here again.

2021-12-27If I would give a no star. I would!! Horrible place. Brought my family here to try food Peruvian food. (We are a party of 12)Waiters were unprofessional, with a big attitude. We asked for cups of ice for our cans of soda and they said they didn’t have any, while we been here several times with no issue. When we got the ice cups it had pieces of black stuff in them (mold). On top of that none of the waitresses didn’t have there masks on right. I was very disappointed with this places.Just in advance, they do gratuity no mater how big your party is.

2019-05-19This place charges you different prices on the bill than the ones advertised on the menu without warning. They will not honor menu prices and they will not warn you, keep a menu with you to compare prices if you decide to try this place but I advise that you avoid being lied to and stole from. They will not correct your bill but instead they will be rude and nasty.
