July 2018 -- Small, quiet. Park benches. Ducks and geese. Swans on a good day.I included one photo that shows an old beer can, bare soil on a barely improved walkway, and dank, murky pond scum. Its not a satisfying walk on the edge of the pond, less than a couple hundred yards to stroll, and a gigantic metal rail on the waters edge to hold you back just in case you dont realize the water isnt fit for touching. An improvement would be if you could walk around the pond, instead of just back and forth over the same little piece. Regardless, some people drop a fishing line.Another photo shows where one end of the short walkway comes to a filthy, unmanicured, unmaintained end.The last photo looks back at the parking area. The driveway is about 5 feet long connecting Branch Blvd to the claustrophobic parking lot. Its a blind turn getting off Branch-northbound into the parking lot, so your car is going to be rear-ended if you want to slow down sufficiently to drive into the lot slow enough while youre being tailgated. And exiting the parking lot onto Branch (to go north or southbound) is also blind, which means that as youre exiting the parklette, someone coming off of Branch may front-end collide into you, and theres nothing you can do because the entrance is less than the width of two vehicles, but since the entrance is blind and Branch has no acceleration/deceleration lane, you wont see oncoming cars barreling into the 5 foot driveway until theyre in your glove compartment. The lot has room for about 10 vehicles. But since no one knows about this tiny park, Ive never seen it completely filled. The parking lot is small, the spaces are small, and backing out of a few of the parking spaces that are nearest the entrance rolls you out into the blind, 5-foot-long driveway where you can only pray no cars are going to come barreling into the park while youre trying to pull out of your parking space. Its claustrophobia. All parking spaces back out into the same little patch of pavement, so watch out that two cars arent backing out of their parking spaces at the same time, because two cars cant (comfortably) occupy the same point in space at the same time; its that small.Dec 2018 -- I drove by a few days ago, and the bushy overgrowth at the parks exit was cut way down. Now, leaving the little parking lot, youll be able to see if any oncoming traffic is coming, without first having to stick your nose into the roadway. And the visibility from the road to see if anyone is coming out of the driveway has vastly improved.
