I saw one PA here thats was great and the others were eh. The doctor did not help my situation either. But the one star is actually for the billers and whoever else is in charge. Apparently I owed money which they had apparently mailed a letter stating that a few times (I never got anything. But they did call about 3 times verifying my address…. They could have told me that they were trying to mail me something and asked if i received it?… I was totally in the dark) Anyways I received a collections letter saying that I owed advanced dermatology. Since they were my only dermatologist, I called and asked if I owed money to which they said no. I then called the number on the collections letter and confirmed that it was the dermatologist in astoria. So I called again, and they transferred me to billers to which the biller explained that she had apparently mailed me letters a few times. I personally think its a crock of bull bc I check the mail all the time. How come I received the collections letter and not theirs? They could have called as well!AND they had my card on file…. The first few times they charged my card… why didnt they just do that again?Never going back. Save yourself from a headache and see Dr. zuckerman at bayside dermatology center. SOOOO much better!!!!
I had a very bad experience today at dr. Nicholaidis office. Me and my daughters are patients for many years. Today my daughter had an appointment and the girls at the office told her that she can’t be seen unless she pays the copay cash. My daughter didn’t have cash with her nor debit card and she told them to send her the bill. She told the girls that she was not aware of the cash situation and she was always paying with her credit card. They admitted it was the office’s fault since the credit card machine was not working but they did nothing to accommodate my daughter. I was very upset because they were really unreasonable to tell us to go find an ATM machine for cash. So we left and we never going back again. This is a medical office not a bucher shop or is it?
I’ve been living in NYC for 11 years and this has been the worst experience at a doctor that I’ve ever had. My appointment was scheduled for 6:15 pm, and I had gotten the Zoc Doc reminders. I even got one at 4:45 via text. When I arrived at 6 pm the lady at the front desk told me I did not have an appointment. After a long back and forth I had to show her the zocdoc reminder on my phone, which she didn’t believe and examined closely until she realized I had scheduled. She then said: “Oh, Zocdoc, yeah... you should not schedule with them”. This leads me to believe Zocdoc is no longer a reliable platform (after using it for many years). So, she tells me the doctor will “fit me in” and I should fill the paperwork. Ok, so I do that and then she tells me there’s a $5 copay. However, she told me they don’t take credit cards for an amount so small and had me go to a nearby ATM to get her that money in cash.10 mins later I get back, and she tells me the Dr is still with a patient and it “won’t be too long”. So there’s a waiting room with ~15 chairs, out of which 13 are full. Apparently social distancing doesn’t matter in this office because when I decided to stand up somewhere less crowded another lady told me I couldn’t stand up, and that I either sat down or reschedule my appointment.So... I sit down, and wait... and wait... and wait some more. At 7 pm I ask them how much longer I have to wait for my 6:15 appointment. They say “the doctor is finishing up with one patient and then there’s another one before you”.I stood up and left, not without being vocal about my frustration with this whole process and customer service. Didn’t see the Dr, but based on all the issues above, I suggest: avoid at all costs!
Been a regular for past 7 months—going in every 4 weeks. For the past 3 months, the appointments that were scheduled on the spot was never on record. I had to change appointments 3 times for THEIR error and disorganization. To top it off, my medical records was switched with someone else. I came in and they thought I was coming in for a “mole” which I never had.....and that I came in a week before my visit, which again, I never did. I don’t have to explain how dangerous that can be. I expressed my concerns to the receptionist and received a nasty attitude and a lame excuse—“Well, we have many new patients.” That is no excuse for her poor organization skills and lack of ability to do her job. Leave before it’s too late or go elsewhere. It’s not even worth risking your health if by any chance, they medicate you incorrectly.
I have been a patient of Dr. Nicoliades for some time now, he recently moved to his new location so please bare that in mind, his staff is all very professional and very helpful. I enjoy being seen by his PAs they listen to me and take time out to listen to me. This is what quality care is all about. I am grateful for being in good care with this practice.
Last month I had a severe allergy in my hands (eczema),I went to different doctors but nothing helped me, I found Dr. Nicolaides online, It was easy to make an appointment online for same day and also Dr. Nicolaides gave me the appropriate medication for my skin condition, I’m really happy because my hands look normal again. Thanks Dr Alexander Nicolaides and staff. 👏👏👏👏.
Highly recommend it. Dr. Nikolaidis is friendly professional individual with excellent treatment plans. I went to his office for alopecia treatment, at that time I had zero strand of hair in my body, with gods help and Dr, Nikolaidis treatment now I have about 90% of hair back on body. His PAs’s are just as professional, specially Sindi she is awesome friendly person. His receptionist and nurses are friendly as well. Definitely recommend it, you won’t be disappointed for sure.

2022-04-13Came in 25 minutes early for a 2:45pm appointment. Receptionist was courteous. She gave me paperwork to fill out and once I complete said paperwork, I was told to have a seat and I would be called shortly. At 3:30pm after not having been called yet, I approached the front and asked if I could reschedule my appointment. The receptionist said “they’re almost done cleaning the room, you’re next, just have a seat”. I returned to my seat and waited. At 3:42pm I was called. Another young lady walked my into a room. The room was clean and spacious and one of at least eight which I passed on my way in. I took a seat, answered a few questions regarding the purpose of my visit. She told me the dr. Would be in to see me shortly and she shut the door behind her as she left the room. Have you seen the Dr.? Yeah neither have I. At 4pm I opened the door and looked around. No one around except a young lady who was walking by. I asked her if anyone was coming to see me. She said nothing and continued walking. I returned back to the receptionist area and said I was leaving and that I would call them to reschedule. The receptionist then asked me if anyone had taken me to a room. As if sitting in the various areas of their office was my purpose for going in. I will not be returning…..

2021-09-29Very knowledgeable doctor. I have been seen by his PA first and then the doctor himself. He answered all my questions and gave me his advice to my skin condition. Beautiful and brand new office. Not too many of those in NYC.

2022-07-14Amazing office, large, clean, comfortable. Staff is nice. Wait is what you expect from a doctors office, if you show up early get the paperwork done you will be seen in a timely matter. PA’s are amazing, so is doc but he’s a one man show, if PA’s are uncertain about something they’ll call him but otherwise they’re amazing at what they do and very trustworthy. Wait can be attributed to people showing up late or exactly on time to their appointments, there’s two PA’s and one Doctor, so you can say they’re a little understaffed. If you want a trustworthy dermatologist visit and want the correct diagnosis and help this place is great. Good things come to people that wait and the hundreds of patients that go are willing to wait cause they know it’s worth it. If your looking for a in-and-out appointment and get rushed out not the place for you.

2022-07-01I have been their patient for 2 times. First visit was okay but they took me in 1 hour later than my appointment. I wanted to give them another chance and went there 1 year later the wait time was 30 minutes and they forgot to give my medicine to my pharmacy and I called them 10 times. They said they send the notification when I was on the phone so after that I went to cvs again they said they don’t see anything on the system. I called them 3 times and they couldn’t help me so I was at cvs like an hour. I had my appointment today at 3.15 and it’s 4pm now and they said they will take me in after 2 patients!!!!wait what? I have to wait like more than an hour that I already have my appointment already? What are the appointments for? My skin didn’t improve at all. I still have break outs and stuff so all they do give the same face cream over and over again… don’t recommend it at all. Our skin is very important and please leave your skin in good and healing hands…

2022-07-14So happy to have found this derm office! I have seen Dr. Nick and his PAs Eva and Sindi. All 3 are professional, compassionate and extremely thorough. They made me feel heard and comfortable, and take the time to listen to my many concerns and address each individually. I travel from Long Island and it is well worth it!

2022-06-26As a long-time patient, I called to book an appointment with Dr. Nicolaides, but they told he was not available and that only the PA was. I saw the PA because I was anxious for relief from my skin condition, and she was really rude. Dr. Nicolaides does a thorough examination of my skin, but she didnt do it.On my way out, I requested to see Dr. Nicolaides and indicated my preference for seeing the doctor rather than the PA, and I scheduled an appointment for the following week. Astonishingly, Dr. Nicolaides unpleasant PA appeared in the examination room and was much more dismissive and unprofessional this time around. Id give Dr. Nicolaides five stars if I could, but I can only give him one because of his PA.

2022-06-26I dont think u usually get to see the doctor. The few times I have its always been rushed and no help from him. Eva who does chemical peel on me does a great job. I think if you just need a regular dermotolgist check up its a good place.

2021-08-21I can happily say this office is on top of their game. From the moment I called the office to schedule an appointment the young lady was courteous and efficient. Visited the office this morning both girls at the front desk were very sweet. They were well organized and patient with all of my inquiries. The entire staff was remarkable. The office is beautiful and clean. Overall had a pleasant visit and highly recommend this office to anyone seeking a dermatologist.
