We made it to the last tasting of the day (Thursday) by one minute. We did not have a reservation but they still accommodated us. It was not busy and there were open tables, which is why I believe we were able to get in. The wines were good and but charcuterie board was exceptionally good. It was one of the more costly flights of the trip, but I thought it was worth it.
I couldnt possibly speak highly enough about Dr. Frank. This place is fantastic. It has a really spectacular view of Keuka Lake with the vineyards in the foreground. They have a really good setup going for the tasting, too. You go from station to station, where each station has a knowledgeable server pouring from distinct categories of wine. So, one is Riesling/white centric, one highlights reds, one sparkling stuff, etc. And again, the servers are knowledge and give you a good background and rundown on the wines theyre pouring. Its not just, heres our dry Riesling from 2019, and you can expect these kinds of notes. They go deeper than that and give you the history of the winery, where is vineyard is located and how it contributes to the flavor, etc. They truly offer an experience and not just a tasting. Also, their wine is really good. Their Rieslings, of course, are the star of the show, but they do a host of things well. I really like their gruner, the cab franc, and their Georgian, among others. This should be the first stop for anyone new to Finger Lakes wineries.
From entering the doors our experience was surprisingly unpleasant. We were greeted with “who let you in?”Our server showed ys soil samples and when I asked what grows on “clay soil? Response? “Grapes!” What kind of an answer was that? We did our tasting ALONE! Nobody stopped by- Enter Grahm with repetitive jokes about shirts…by the 5th time of same jokes, it got old….It started to feel like he was trying to hit on the men in the group..When we were ready to leave a woman stopped by and asked how things were, but before we could compose ourselves to answer, she walks away…Very disappointing- our friends in the group had a better reception during COVID. What happened?
We had a blast! The 1886 Food and Wine Experience is well worth the visit. Our host Allyn was great. The wines are phenomenal and then add that to the properly paired foods, makes it all that much more of a pleasurable event. If you get the chance, make the visit the 1886 Food and Wine Experience.
My husband and I are huge fans of this winery. Since our last visit in 2016, they have made great improvements to their tasting room areas. Absolutely fantastic wines with a rich history that is now told more thoroughly through their tasting room experience. The staff are very knowledgeable, informative and personable. This winery is an absolute must!
This was by far the best tasting of our trip. We loved the Progressive Tasting format! It was so nice to get to interact with different people at each station and we enjoyed hearing information about the history of the winery & founders, as well as the wines, which are delicious! Well worth the drive from any of the lakes!
Twice now I’ve gone and been turned away for not having a reservation. I can understand if it’s busy but we went in December when nobody was there and were turned away. They are a little too full of themselves and not welcoming at all. Luckily I live here and will continue to enjoy the other fantastic, welcoming wineries in the area.
It is always a pleasure to visit Dr. Konstantins Winery. The wines are excellent and the progressive tasting was very nice and well organized from check-in to check-out. Since it has been a couple of years since our last visit we found the overall changes to tasting, the facility to be very positive, nice and well suited for tasting or enjoying a bottle of great wine. We also found the host at each wine station to be very knowledgeable and interesting. Keep up the great work!
My wife, two friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the 1886 Food & Wine Experience at Dr. Frank on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Our guide was interesting, informative and often funny. The wine was paired with tasty small bites with lots of variety and flavors. The wine, of course, was excellent. The views were wonderful. I recommend this highly.
Too rushed through (the next group waiting right behind us), not that friendly and not that informative. I go to California wine tasting every year and find the tastings to be exceptional, personable, and informative. I did not have one wine tasting in New York state that even came close to a tasting in CA. Please go and visit them....
Beautiful winery but my family and I werent welcomed. Hardly any guests and we were just shuffled to the garden and left by ourselves. They definitely prioritized reservation tastings over the garden guests and made it known that you were a lesser guest. They rushed us and didnt bother to give us any history or information unless we pried for it. This was not our first visit in the past couple years and we had hoped the first disappointing visit was a fluke. Sorry to say that it wasnt and it seems to be a theme.
This was a fantastic wine tasting experience for my wife and I. The view of Keuka Lake and the surrounding vineyards was perfect as we sipped our wine and learned about the vineyard and its family owned history. The staff were are very knowledgeable and friendly and we left having had a great experience (as well as several bottles). We had our daughter with us and they were kind enough to give her a juice box to enjoy as we went through our tasting. I would highly recommend this vineyard to any wine lovers visiting Keyuka Lake. We were staying in Watkins Glen at neighboring Seneca Lake and this was worth driving to.
Took the Reserve 1886 tour and tasting. Outstanding! Colleen was a wonderful host and so knowledgeable. She also poured us lots of wonderful wine. The food and wine pairings at the end of the tour were delicious. Learning how the sparkling wines were made and bottled was a highlight. Well worth the cost.
Wines are about time and place, but we forget sometimes also about people. The tasting-station system worked perfectly and the bartenders/guides were all excellent. Learning even more about the Frank family was even better. Very well done! (And we’ve been coming up from PA since 1990)
Although we had been there before, we were taking visiting friends. The wine is wonderful, and the staff very friendly. We sat outside with friends and our dog, (winery is now dog friendly!), enjoying the view, the wine, and the lovely afternoon. One of the best places in the area! Go. You will not be disappointed.
My boyfriend and I scheduled a tasting at Dr. Konstantins Frank Winery while on a visit to Corning to visit family. We planned on staying an hour and heading back to visit the glass museum. However, the staff was so friendly, the wine so tasty, the scenery so lovely, and the cheese board so satisfying we stayed a few hours. While I have heard there are many other noteworthy wineries in the area, I cant wait to get back to the area to revisit Dr. Konstantins specifically. It is gorgeous! Plan ahead to stick around for a few hours to enjoy the full experience.
A fantastic afternoon at my favorite winery! The tour of the vineyards and the sparkling wine cellar was informative, and the actual wine pairings with delicious small bites of gourmet food in the 1886 tasting room were a revelation of how foods and wines interact, as well as a pleasure to enjoy! To top it all off, our hostess sabered a bottle of sparkling wine before our eyes and then shared the wine with us on the deck overlooking Keuka Lake.If you enjoy wine, you must share this experience. And kudos to Dr. Frank who started it all.
The wine was extremely overrated and the service was awful. After visiting all different wineries, this was at the top of our list for the week but we were extremely disappointed in the customer service and overall experience. If you want to feel like you don’t belong, this is the placeIf you are looking for a wonderful service, I would highly recommend three brothers winery or Weis Winery
Im from the area but now live in Florida and havent been up there in over a year due to Covid. I am thrilled that they now ship to my state! I order online, and have been very satisfied. The wine arrives in a timely manner, and is perfect. So far, when ordering a case (you can mix and match)--theyve offered a 15% discount and free shipping which is great.
Summary: Best wines, breathtaking view, and the best history of any winery we visited. Can’t miss this one if you are taking a tour of this area!Wine: Absolutely fantastic wines! A bunch of cool varietals you don’t usually see from this area, plus some amazing blends (but with so many different kinds of fruit to work with, there’s really no surprise there!). Sweet, dry, whites, reds, roses, sparkling, and everything in between; really something for everyone.Ambiance/View: BEAUTIFUL lake views and a very nice tasting room. We were lucky that there weren’t many people visiting when we went, but it seemed like it’d have enough room to still get good service if it got busy. Another really nice thing about this place is that we were greeted by Steven as soon as we walked up! It was so nice to have someone to get direction from right off the bat. Plus he was so nice and welcoming! A definite plus.Education: The tasting room staff (our bartender Vinnie, and the other bartender Paul) were very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and the history of the vineyards - and what a history it is! It was so cool to learn about Dr. Frank and his contributions; plus we heard his name pop up so many more times from other wineries in the area recognizing his contributions. We didn’t do a tour, but next time we come back, we will definitely try to get in on the tours - they seemed amazing and included food for the price.
There is quite no place like Dr. Konstantin Frank’s. We have been going there at least once or twice a year for at least 14 or 15 years. Their wine is superb! You will always find a wine that you enjoy. And their prices are absolutely amazing. And you get treated like you’re special.
It’s been a few years between visits. They now offer 2 or 3 tasting options. One is free and offers a selection of their standard wines. An upgraded tasting is available for a standard fee, or a paired tasting is available (might need reservations... not sure). The wine is solid. They’ve been around for years and there’s a reason why. Personally, like the dry Riesling. All are fine examples though. Prices reasonable and discounted at several different numbers of bottles. The site is nice. Tastings are offered on the deck, in several rooms and in their historic house. No dogs allowed inside, but Olive enjoyed walking around the grounds.
Came for wine tasting sold out. Okdecifef to go for a single glass. Sitting outside only 4 other tables. Paid upfront so we could head out after. Sitting 20 minutes. Couldn’t get a flight ofRed which is understandable sinceFocus is white. Wanted a glass of cabernet franc. Not able to get it since reds are short on hand. Went to vineyard view and they had no problem letting us taste it first. Seems smaller is better
We loved this winery! The service, the wine was excellent and the view gorgeous. Outdoor area was cute and youre able to bring food. We were not offered the option of the complimentary tasting only the $10 one however the portions of wine were generous! Salmon Run Chardonnay and Rose were our favorite.
Drove almost 2 hours to for a glass of wine and was met at the door by one of their workers who was INCREDIBLY rude saying that everything was full and they couldn’t accommodate us. Upon us explaining that no where on their website did it say that people couldn’t be served after 4 he said very sarcastically, “well I’m sorry” while he rolled his eyes. He was unprofessional and turned us off to a winery we USED to love. Shame on you.
I just spent a wonderful afternoon at Dr. Franks Winery for the 1886 Experience. After a short walk in the vineyard and down in the barrel room to learn about barrel aged wines, we were seated in the beautiful 1886 Room, a stone building featuring local art on the walls. We sampled 4 special wines, each paired with a small but delicious appetizer that showcased the wine wonderfully. We got to visit and enjoy the wines before heading down to a private tasting room to sample even more great wines. This takes your wine tasting experience to the next level! A special way to experience the best winery in the Finger Lakes.
Top notch wine served safely by awesome, interesting professionals-best tasting experience in quite a while, outshining most California and French ones I have sought out. The Georgian white and amber wines are a revelation! The Lena red blend was a great choice for a special celebration steak dinner.
Great wines and wonderful staff! Jackie was awesome. Our tasting was informative and extremely relaxing. Jackie conducted the complimentary tasting and suggested a few others we should try. We proceeded to the 1962 Room and sampled 5 more wines. Honestly we had a hard time picking a favorite! Their reislings were amazing, as one would expect, but the other varieties are not to be missed!
I agree with the negative reviews that say they have some rude employees. We were visiting from out of town, and had no idea that the winery was operating by reservations only, since the website is misleading and says they will accept walk-ins if there is space. There was hardly anyone sitting outside at the tables, so we walked up and asked how the process worked. Instead of explaining the process to us, or letting us know that we were welcome to sit at the outside tables, the man working outside just asked, “Do you have reservations?” We told him we did not, and he said, “We’re booked for the entire weekend, so we can’t serve you.” I felt that his blunt response was extremely rude, especially his choice of words in saying, “We can’t serve you.” He could have tried to book us for another day, but he made us feel so unwelcome that we went ahead and left without asking when we could be booked in the future. We went to another vineyard down the road that was happy to serve us, while still making their guests feel safe with social distancing guidelines.
I had a great time at the 1886 experience, which is a tour and tasting with food pairings. Our tour guide was so funny and friendly and knowledgeable. The wine was really tasty. Luckily their wine maker was working during our tour so we got to hear from him for a while too. I highly recommend this tour.
So many winery choices, just be sure not to miss this one! We went on a very busy Saturday, and they have you buy a ticket and wait outside....so we thought it might be pretentious. But, it was not. They do a great job of separating folks so its still a great experience. And we had Phill as our server, and he was incredible! We never felt rushed. The only negative is how to leave without a few cases! Seriously, the wine is top quality. Not sure if Top Shelf wine is proper wine-talk, but thats Dr. Franks!!
What a great experience. From the moment we walked in the door to the time we left we were treated to laughs, knowledge [far superior to any other winery weve been to] and fabulous tastings chosen by the staff. I would highly recommend to anyone who has a love of wine!
Delicious wine, passionate and friendly people! So happy I had the chance to come here and try out several new types of Dr Frank wine I haven’t seen before. They have an incredible variety of equally delicious wines, and a tasting is the best way to learn which you love most, not to mention hear the history of this beautiful family business. The vineyard and tasting room offer a ton of great photo ops, since it is perched above a beautiful view of Keuka Lake. The people working here are passionate about good wine and it shows. Everyone is so happy to make your experience special. Must see in the Fingerlakes! I’ll definitely be ordering more online.
What a fantastic afternoon. Every time I visit Dr. Franks I learn more about my favorite beverage. And, my palate has been expanded to truly enjoy many more wines. The food served with our pairings was the best I have had around Keuka, by far. Wish I could cook like that. Thanks for the experience!
It was a delightful experience. The host was knowledgeable and interesting. We so enjoyed the tour and explanation of the Méthode Champenoise. The sampling of 5 wines and the food pairings were exceptional. The final stop at the tasting room of the 1886 building was memorable. I would highly recommend this to any wine lover. We will certainly go again!
These wines are the best of the best from the Finger Lakes region as far as Im concerned. The 1886 Terrace wine and cheese tasting is absolutely amazing...as was the view. The staff is sincere and attentive. They even went out of their way to locate a wine that they were out of at the winery for me. They were able to find it at one of the local stores in Hammondsport. What an experience. If you havent gone to Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery then you havent experienced the Finger Lakes.
Dr. Frank’s has been a favorite winery I’ve been visiting for 10 years. This year has changed that. It has turned into a commercial, soulless operation. “Here for a tasting? We’ll put your name on the list after you’ve paid for your tickets.” Ugh. We should have left then. Even if that’s your policy, figure out a better check-in system. We were ignored at the desk to pay in favor of customers who were buying several cases of wine with no “I’ll be with you in a moment.” But we paid for our tickets, now $10, and were eventually ushered into the tasting room with 12 other people. And then we waited some more. We were forgotten so many times that we watched others come and go at other tables and left before our fifth pour because we were forgotten again, and we would have left much sooner had we not paid for the tasting. Some of the wines are nice, but the tasting experience is much better at nearby wineries. Go first thing in the morning, or don’t bother.
Extremely rude. We’ve always bought their wines and will never again after our experience at the winery. We stopped in for a wine tasting at the end of the day on Saturday and were told they were no longer taking tastings even though it was prior to their 5 o’clock close time. Since it wasn’t closed yet we wanted to just see the tasting room having never been and were yelled at to leave. The employee running the winery at this time clearly did not care about customers at all.
Some of the Finger Lakes best wine. Received a gift to their wine club for Christmas which entitles you to 3 free bottles of wine per quarter and one free attendance to an event as well as free tastings. The view over Keuka lake is amazing. Great wine and great winery great people. Enjoy and pay them a visit.
Very nice location and very friendly staff. But the tasting is expensive than the other wineries in the area as well as they dont sell wine by the glass. We didnt have time this visit to do the 1886 food and wine pairing which would be on my list to do on our next trip. Hope they add wine by the glass.
My husband and I recently traveled to this winery after hearing a lot about it from friends. We had a FANTASTIC time. The wine tasting employees here are really top notch. They didnt just give us a tasting, they gave us an experience well never forget. We really felt like we learned a lot when we left. The wines here are the best Ive tasted from the Finger Lakes and the view from their tasting room took our breath away!
This was the first and one of my favorite vineyards we visited in the finger lakes. We arrived at 4:15p on a week day and they welcomed us to settle in on the back deck. The wine tasting presentation was the best in the area. We also had the (local!)cheese and the cheese...oh...the cheese (they carry the cheese in their on-site store)! This place is a must.
We liked the wine and loved the tasting room. Getting to the tasting room was very confusing, we followed the signs, but had to wait about 10 minutes to be taken to the far tasting room. If I go back I will ignore the signs and walk over...Our server was very knowledgeable and gave us a well informed tasting. The tasting was free, but the price of a bottle of wine compensated for the free tasting.
Free tastings always a plus and a smart incentive to buy their wine. Worth the money to splurge on their expensive reds, we have 2 currently aging. Their semi dry consistently delivers. They have an rkastali that is very very good and unique to the region. I wish they would open up a location more east!
I came here because I bought their champagne style sparkling wine on a whim. It was so good I had to go straight to the source and try everything they had. Short story, me and my girlfriend usually dont like wines from the finger lakes but this place really changed our mind. I highly recommend this winery!!
Upgraded to the select tasting experience to skip the long line waiting for the traditional tasting. Perhaps it was the time of day (4PM on a Saturday) but felt the other wineries did a better job. Wine selection was extensive but there was one person pouring for 4-5 couples, which left little time to be guided through the 20+ wine on the menu.
1 star for the tasting room experience; 5 stars for quality of wineHaving visited Dr. Franks winery many times over the past decade, our party was thoroughly disappointed in the surprisingly generic and rushed experience we had in August. Our prior experiences have been lovely - we were given time to taste, learn, and talk with the servers who, in turn, would take what they learned about our preferences and palate to suggest other wines to try. It was a wonderful and unrushed back and forth between the taster and the staff and always left an impression that earned loyalty. There was no charge for the tastings: the wines spoke for themselves and we were always happy to buy more than our fair share. On our most recent trip, we were informed by a rushed and somewhat robotic staff member to choose which wine tasting experience we wanted (this was new, but we were open to try something different!). We learned that while there is still a complimentary wine tasting option, the wine choices were now limited. Looking for a more sophisticated experience, and because we were mostly interested in tasting their sparkling wines (not available in the free tasting), we opted to pay $10 each for the second choice: the 1962 Reserve Room, which touted to offer guests an intimate and personalized tasting experience, perfect for connoisseurs looking for an intimate experience with the very best wines in the Dr. Konstantin Frank portfolio. Moreso, the in-depth educational tasting was to be led by (their) most senior wine educator staff. Unfortunately, our experience was far from intimate or educational and left much to be desired. It felt like we were simply a cog in the assembly line wheel where the almighty dollar was King. Our most senior wine educator staff had no passion for the wine or for us - two of the most significant ingredients we had felt all these years prior. Something we had come to love about visiting Dr. Franks was the feeling that all the staff loved their wine and were passionate about sharing their craft with you. There was no sharing, we did not learn anything, in fact it was the most generic tasting of all the wineries we visited that week - a crying shame considering the competition in the region. If the increased foot traffic has compelled management to find a solution on how to better move visitors through their winery in a more efficient way, hopefully they can do so without losing their ability to treat their customers right. They do make excellent wine which cannot be denied), so perhaps skip the tasting room altogether or just reframe your expectations before visiting.
MaryHope1231Reviewed todayThe 1886 Experience -- you should experience it!I was at the 1886 Experience last week for the third time in a couple of years. It keeps getting better. The setting in the beautiful and historic stone building with amazing art sets the stage for a wonderful time. The tables are set beautifully and Colleen gave us a very fun and educational explanation of the barrels in which the wine is aged -- in the barrel room -- complete with tasting from the barrel and a lesson on how the barrels are made and selected. That was this months experience -- it changes monthly. We then returned to a beautiful plate of food pairings for our four wines -- all DELICIOUS. You should know that this is not lunch -- you get a delcious bite to eat with each of the four wines that are featured this month. We potato gratin with chardonnay, two pinot noirs paired with ratatouille and beef bourguignon and a cherry pastry with Lena -- one of the reserve wines -- Amazing. After enjoying that we went downstairs to the tasting room where we tasted sparkling wines, rieslings and reds. It was a perfect afternoon. Dont miss this experience. The wine tastings are wonderful, but this is really something special. Enjoy!
Walked away after being lied too. Their new reserve wine only tasting policy was not the way it always is. This is something new and they lie about it. We were there three weeks ago and the tasting was a normal five or six dollars. Now its ten and you cant taste the less expensive wines you would like to buy.
Ive been here a few times with other people and never had a great experience. Weve been turned away from tastings in the past even before their cut off time. The women greeting you outside are rude and off putting. They make it seem like a chore to take your name down and tell you to go wait. I understand its a busy place but theres no need to be rude at your job. Now that tastings are $10 a person i doubt well be back. Why pay double than the surrounding wineries for a sub par experience.
Find this place.! the tasting room has a beautiful view of the lake..but trust me, that isnt why you go there..the award winning wines all speak for them selves.! the wines here are so wonderful thus the reason this is one of the most, if not the most awarded winery of the entire region.! this man and his vinifera method of making wine is truly a taste bud art of pleasure.! try all of his wines and even his bargain labels are amazing and taste dam dam good..like the salmon run label..good wine..!! not the easiest place to find but worth the extra bit of time to enjoy the mecca of finger lakes wineries...go, enjoy and buy a case or 2...
Wines were very good but the tasting experience was the worst I have ever experiencedThe hosts seemed bored with the whole event and did not want to waste any time describing the wines or answering questions about than. And this was the reserve testing. We have visited wineries across the country and around the world so we were very disappointed after reading all the wonderful reviews.
Bought a bottle of their 2013 Brut made in the traditional champagne method and LOVED it so we visited the vinyard/winery the next day. Their other wines did not disappoint. Christeleen did our tasting and she was knowledgeable, honest and fun! We loved it so much we joined the club & we normally do not enjoy the sweet wines of NY. -Dr. Konstatin Frank has some lovely and complex wines!
Okay, so it is TOTALLY worth doing the 1886 Experience. Our guide was down to earth, knowledgeable, and funny. It was such a fantastic experience. You will find a wine here to fall in love with! Our favorites were the Blanc de Blanc, Blanc de Noir, the Hilda, the Cab Sauv, and like six others. The 1886 experience gives you the opportunity to learn more abt their process while touring the fields, the facilities, and wine cellar while having excellent tastings along the way. All ending with a food pairing. This is absolutely worth the stop.
Always love visiting Dr. Franks. They were had a large, bustling Labor Day crowd, but managed to handle everyone well. Great to see them busy. As always, the wines were excellent and priced at bargain prices. Some wines took us by surprise (positively!) this year, including the 17 Sauv blanc, and the new vintage of Brut sparkling. Quality and consistency for the third year running.____________________________The famous Dr. Franks winery was a must-visit during our trip, and it was very enjoyable. The attendant and shop keep were both very knowledgeable, able to answer even the most obscure questions. They were also able to explain the nuances of strange Eastern European varieties that we had never encountered. The sparkling wines, especially their Extended Tirage Brut offering, were exceptional and could develop into truly stunning wines. Top-notch operation; very highly recommended.
Was there 10 yrs ago and was not good, rude staff and thought Id try it again since back visiting from Ohio and we were not even allowed in for tastings without reservations. So many people walked up and were sent back Im rain....at least put a guy in a raincoat at entrance to parking to tell us.
The staff (white guy with sparse hair) at the cash counter was extremely rude despite us being polite. He started with a sarcastic remark and later became full blown rude. He told us that we were holding up his line while we were ordering. We felt he was clearly biased as there were other people before us who took much longer than us (may be because we are brown..not trying to give it a racist angle but all three of us felt it). Also, there were literally 5 people behind us. What line were we holding up?? We went to this winery despite reading some bad reviews online. There are many other good wineries in the area. Consider skipping this one if you want to avoid rude staff and poor service
This is a historic place because the good Dr. Frank brought us vinifera wines. You can buy very fine wines at reasonable prices here. The view is outstanding and very reminiscent of the Rhine or Moselle with the steep vineyards overlooking the narrow and deep Keuka Lake in place of one of those famous rivers. Yes, there are other nice wineries to visit in the Finger Lakes but Dr. Frank Vinifera Cellars is an iconic and special place. Even with out the history it is well worth your time based on the fine wines offered and one of the best views in the Finger Lakes.
Beware! You are permitted to be an patron and buy a bottle of wine to enjoy, but if you don’t have a reservation you are not permitted to use the bathrooms. You are instructed to use the outdoor potable dirty bathrooms that are at the end of the parking lot. Horrible experience!
Today is my wifes birthday and while preparing brunch we decided to open a bottle of Chateau Frank 2010 brut that was in the fridge, and what a delightful surprise. Wow was it good . Cant wait to return this summer to re stock the cellar. Thanks for a wonderful surprise😊
I know it was a busy July 5th day. Lots of people and a waiting list. But, once we got to our tasting our guy spent the entire time with the rest of our group and completely ignored us, for upwards of a 1/2 hour. I imagine if we came on a quiet day, our experience would have been different, but we left as quickly as possible, in search of a better tasting experience.
The tasting room needs to develop a system when there is a wait. Was told to wait and I would be found. However groups arriving after me were brought in first without any acknowledgement of me waiting right in front of the store employee in charge of the waiting cue. I used to enjoy coming here but now may change my mind
I cannot believe how rude this employee was to my boyfriend and I when we went to this winery for a tasting. B/c my b/f looked pale from motion sickness from the limo and b/c my mascara was smeared on one eye he asked us if we had too much to drink for the tastings in front of an entire group of people. What kind of customer service is that? What happened to the customer is always right? Completely unprofessional. If you have a legit concern, how about doing it with some manners? Very surprising since he looked old enough to be my grandpa. You would think he should be the one giving me lessons on manners instead of the other way around. I was excited for tastings at this winery since I know someone that loves their wine but after how we were treated here I will never go back or recommend it to anyone I know.
The 1886 room tastings and food parings at Dr. Konstantin Frank are well worth the trip to epicenter of the the Finger Lakes wine region. Now in its 4th generation of the Frank family, Meaghans tour of the and explanation of the Methode Champenoise wine process was a great way to cap off a week of tasting along Keuka, Seneca and Cayuga lake.

2022-05-19To say that we absolutely LOVED our experience at Dr. Konstantin Winery is to say nothing! Literally one of the best weekends I’ve had this year. Our visit began at the tasting veranda and we got a bottle of Prosecco Brut and a cheese platter. You already know that you’ll enjoy the drinks, but THE CHEESE PLATTER. Jesus, it’s a MUST!! Don’t deprive yourself of this gastronomical orgasm! I don’t know the name of the lady who gave us an overview of the different cheeses, meats and other things in the plate, but she was outstanding. It 100% felt like we’re at a 3 Michelin star restaurant, that’s how amazing she was in her descriptions and guest treatment.I strongly recommend checking out this winery. No matter if you’re a wine expert or just an amateur appreciator, you can definitely customize your experience and enjoy it as much as we did.Bravo!

2022-06-06An amazing experience from check in by Stephen to tasting with delightful Lynn to guide us in selections & our many questions. Everyone was super friendly & the wine is amazing. I’m a French rose’ fan & their roses’ are the only American ones to compare. We joined the wine club & plan to visit yearly.

2021-07-09Very nice winery with great views and great high-quality ones. An excellent selection as well literally something for everybody! We did a progressive tasting while we were there and it was really neat. You start off with some bubbly, move on to three other stations after that. All had roughly five wines to select from and you got one or two tastings at each station. If you want to do you could also do flights in the back garden. They also have ones of a lot of different price points. All of the servers were very knowledgeable and friendly. He got a lot of history on all of the wines and the family. Highly enjoyable!

2021-10-25We were recently on vacation in the FLX and one of our stops was Dr. Konstantin Frank. Through a recommendation we decided to stop on through and give it a shot. All I have to say is if youre looking for service and views, this place sets the bar high! The wine selection as well is on another level. Wide variety of styles, varietals and methods of wine making. Ryan was very knowledgeable and informative and extremely passionate about his position within the winery.

2022-01-16A fantastic winery. Knowledgeable staff. Historically, the first wine maker in the Fingerlakes. The wine is excellent, the tasting room is beautiful and the staff is as friendly as they come. I’ve been coming here for years and will continue to do so

2021-09-20The garden was cute. Wines were ok, overrated. Service could be better. Absent wine ambassador. Overall experience wasn’t great. We didn’t feel welcomed. Will not recommend. Ravines/lamoreaux landing even the nearby Heron hill provides much better experience with even better wines.

2022-02-08We were served by the friendliest and kindest wine expert George. Holly was also part of our tasting experience. It was very relaxing and we did not want to leave out into the winter cold. Looking forward to returning very soon. Thank you both
