I called the office to make an appointment as a new patient. The woman on the phone was extremely rude and condescending because she had not heard of my insurance provider (look it up???). She was so incredibly reuse that I ended the conversation and found another doctor instead. This office is losing new patients because of their staff. And, based on the other reviews, it looks like I’m not the first one to have this issue.
Went to Suffolk Orthopedics after suffering a shoulder injury from working out. Dr. Tabershaw and his staff were incredibly professional and attentive. He thoroughly described the nature of my injury, and described the treatment options that were best for the condition. He is a big believer in exercising all non operative options before considering surgery, and thankfully because of his knowledge I was able to avoid surgery, and now my shoulder feels excellent. I am able to workout and participate in athletics pain free. Highly recommend Dr. Tabershaw and his office.
Deceptive billing practices. I was given a back brace for my son and told by the PA that it would be covered but if anything I may receive “a small bill”. I was later sent a bill for $1000 for a brace that I could’ve purchased on Amazon for a fraction of the cost. To add insult to injury we were later told by a specialist that the brace was completely unnecessary and to stop wearing ASAP. Multiple phone calls back and forth led us nowhere and we were then placed in collections. Never again.
Nice staff, fabulous P.A.....Dr Tabershaw was ok.....a bit discouraging and insulting though. I was told I needed surgery after going for an MRI. Both the doctor and surgery scheduler were on vacation and I was told I would hear from them to schedule my surgery the next week. Never heard anything..... its been weeks. I ended up seeing another doctor and had the surgery 2 weeks later. Would not visit this doctor again.
Dr. Tabershaw and his office were great! He is extremely knowledgeable, and took time to explain my options. I have no pain and am back to ballet without any issues. Highly recommend. Hard to find doctors of his caliber with the way healthcare is changing. Glad one doctor didnt forget what a doctor is supposed to be.
I have been dealing with Dr. Tabershaw for just over 6 years. He has preformed 2 previous surgeries on my right shoulder. I would not recommend another orthopedic surgeon. He is polite, professional and expierienced. I always feel that he has my best interest at heart. He embodies all that a Dr. Is supposed to represent. He leads by example. I will never use another orthopedic surgeon. Thank you Dr. Tabershaw.
Loved the PA Mike and Dr. Tabershaw. I had hurt my shoulder and didn’t think I would get my range of motion back but thanks to them I did. Dr. T went above and beyond answered all my questions. The staff was also great and super responsive. Overall great experience, and I highly recommend if you want an office and doctor that knows what they’re doing.
The staff is unprofessional when dealing with patient especially over the phone, Dianne put me on hold and was very harsh the way she talked and discuss my concern, just the tone of her voice made me so uncomfortable and and aggravating, she’ll make you feel that she doesn’t have time for you. Patient satisfaction is always emphasize in any establishment and she is not trying even a bit to be courteous and welcoming.
Very long wait to be seen even when I showed up early for my appointment. Receptionist will not even leave a message for the PA to call you back. They will only book you an appointment to be seen. Had issues many years ago. Went back figuring maybe things had changed but I guess not still have the same problems with the office.
Money hungry. Pushing me through the process. Im getting bills for xrays which the doctor ordered even though i have him my xrays from my emergency room visit. And then on the follow up he asked for another xray. And he told me i wouldnt be billed. I dont think that was intentional misinformation. I just think he was rushing through the process without taking my situation into consideration.
Went for a visit first time for my thumb, dr tabashaw told me i have an extra bone on side of my thumb which is why it causes the pain gave me a brace to wear for 2 weeks, he said if it doesn’t get better he’ll let me see the surgeon doctor, went back for the follow up he said the he never said that, and recommend me to a hand specialist, and also said that i also have a sprain in my thumb, which he never mentioned first visit, he started to get nasty and said it seem like i know more then him so he not going sit there and argue, and recommend me to keep wearing the brace and see a hand specialist, never seen a dr this nasty before
Very unprofessional staff. Called to make appointment the person who answered the phone was rude. Did not know any thing was not helpful at all. She was keep asking who referred you and when I said the name of doctor she was keep asking is he primary doctor or..... and she was very nasty by saying I dont know who is he like it matters anyway I was not making the appointment for the doctor.

2020-02-14Dr. Tabershaw and his office are great! Dr. T is extremely knowledgeable and lays everything out for you in a digestible way. When I got my injury I did some research on my own (was afraid I would lose my golf swing), and after meeting and speaking with him I knew Dr. T was up on the latest techniques and technology. Thanks to him I’m back on the golf course and my shoulder never felt better. The staff is also great. They are on top of everything, and go out of their way to be helpful. Overall highly recommend.

2021-04-22Dr. Tabershaw has helped me and my family over the course of the past 5 years. My knee problems from catching as a child to dancing on the dance floor back before the Covid times. With his help I am able to do activities that once hurt while doing. I strongly recommend him for anyone that is seeking orthopedic help!

2020-06-05Dr. Tabershaw and his office are the best! Amazing bedside manner and overall just a nice guy who knows what he’s doing. Office staff was also very welcoming and warm. Highly recommend. By the way my knee is as good as new, which is important as a new mom about to approach the terrible twos!

2020-11-16So I was sent to this office by Urgent Care in West Babylon. Originally diagnosed with bad tendinitis and told to ice , elevate, use crutches, don’t drive and wear the flat foot boot that I purchased at Urgent Care. 24 hours later I was rushed to the hospital by ambulance with a broken foot. Fast forward to Monday, 4 days after my fracture. Justine was great, took more X Rays told me to keep up with ice elevation and staying off of it. She instructed me to call her on Friday and she would refill my pain meds no problem. I call Friday, Justine is off the covering Dr or PA basically tells me he can’t help me. Now I have to find away to get to my doctor (MD) , who btw had no problem writing the prescription. I’m sorry but to leave a new patient with a broken foot, unable to drive and without any meds besides Tylenol is completely unacceptable. I’m a very nice person but this was the ultimate case of Pass the Buck. I’m so upset that I’m finding a new orthopedic surgeon. Not even an apology from the office, nothing. Just so wrong. Simultaneously I’m taking care of my 6 year old son, dealing with my Godmother on a ventilator in the hospital and being blown off by this office. So upset that I will not be returning here.

2018-03-01Dr. Tabershaw and his office are the best. Im back to the gym and have no pain! My internist previously sent me to another doctor and he told me surgery was my only option, and i would probably still have some kind of pain. At 30 that was not something I wanted to hear or was ready to just accept. A friend told me about Dr. Tabershaw and Im so glad I listened. Through therapy and listening to the restrictions he gave me while healing I feel back to normal. Highly recommend.

2021-04-07Dr. Tabershaw was very thorough and compassionate with explaining the problems with my ankle. He spent a lot of time going over all of my other medical issues, which could be affecting my pain. I would highly recommend this doctor

2018-11-13Dr. Tabershaw is the best! I work as a laborer and cant afford to have a bad shoulder. Dr. T gave it to me straight and explained all my options. The surgery was a success and im back at work stronger than ever. His PA was also super friendly and helpful throughout the process. I feel very lucky to have found Dr. T. great experience with this doctor

2021-04-28P.A. Mike Polidoro is awesome like everyone else said!! I went to them after a fall at work. They did shoulder surgery. Also, I couldnt even turn a hairbrush due to the pain in my hand and thumb. Mike did an injection of Cortisone an Markaine. 100% relief! Even if it only lasted a few months and hurt like hell going in. I got use of it again. The only con is some of the staff who take phone calls (Diane) take it upon themselves to attempt to diagnose, give medical advice, opinions and decide what messages they are going to give the doctors. Rude, passive aggressive, unprofessional.

2020-05-19I had an appointment with Dr. Tabershaw. I have a problem with my finger, and I am doctor’s patient for a few years. When I was in the room another doctor came and he said that doctor Dr. Tabershaw will be later. I refused to be seen by another doctor whom I did not like. I asked the manager of the office to call me when doctor will be in the office (I live 5 min drive from the office). The manager was very rude, unprofessional and impolite. She said that I have to reschedule the appointment if I want to see Dr. Tabershaw. I asked her why doctor cannot see me later today, so she said that doctor is booked already for the rest of the day. But I have my appointment for today also!!!. I am on antibiotics and could not wait for another 2 weeks for next appointment.I decided to leave and on my way to the entrance I saw Dr. Tabershaw who just arrived at the office. I asked him very politely why he cannot see me, and he abruptly just said: “I cannot talk to you” and slammed the door. I felt that he spit in my face.I understand that Dr. Tabershaw is very professional doctor, and maybe he just doesn’t like me, but I don’t think that doctor can say “I cannot talk to you’ to anybody.I still will recommend Dr. Tabershaw, but my experience today was terrible.Raisa

2021-01-03I was referred by urgent care when I hurt my shoulder. Best decision going to see Dr. Tabershaw. Nothing but professionalism from Dr. Tabershaw, the PA and the rest of the office staff. Highly recommend if you want an honest and good doc.
