Very supportive and enthusiastic garden community members, the managers are excellent; providing diverse, interesting and sustainable workshops and events at this lush 2-acre garden. This is a true oasis right by public transit. You can access the river here, they have new bee hives, do tree giveaways, gardening. Drew Gardens is a peaceful haven and important for Bronx residents. Thank you!
Come and check out this garden ! You wonβt be disappointed . Once you step into the garden , you definitely can feel there is something enchanting about it due to Mother Nature such as the beautiful flowers , trees , and the running river that runs through the garden. Julio , Mario and the rest of the garden members have really stepped up in turning this garden around my maintaining it and having educational workshops.
Intrigued by the online photos, I finally had the opportunity to visit this enchanted oasis. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by a caring, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. My fondness was cemented while touring the grounds. From roses to tomatoes and pine trees to bees. All found right here in the β€οΈof the Bronx.
This is my favorite secret in the Bronx. When you go to this beautiful Garden you forget you are in the middle of the Bronx. The Bronx river muffles the street sounds, soothing the mind and the soul. If you are ever in need of hugs from a tree, or you want to hug a tree as well as ground yourself to Mother Earth, well...this is the place. Thank me later. :)

2020-10-26We recently brought our students to Drew Gardens to volunteer. What a beautiful space in the Bronx! Tucked between bus stops and highways, you forget that youre in a bustling city and are just surrounded by art, community gardens, a clear river and a sense of enduring community. Mario and Julio are friendly, helpful and gave our students a wonderful sense of belonging and purpose. What an important feature for our students to know is just down the block from their school, a place they can retreat for peace and quiet, a place to volunteer and belong... a place they all need and deserve in the chaos that is 2020. Thank you

2020-01-30This garden is filled with so much love and positivity. It is a fantastic place to learn about the environment and gardening from people who are passionate about caring for the earth. They have fantastic community events for kids and adults alike. Drew gardens is open to the public at certain times throughout the year, and they have a schedule posted outside of the garden on their community bulletin board. During the fall they had a photobooth set up where the public could walk in and take cute fall themed photos. They also have craft events for children and art events for adults as well. On Saturdays when the weather is warmer they have yoga classes taught by Mario, who is a legit yoga instructor. He and his twin brother Julio are also the ones who manage and maintain the garden, and they do such a fantastic job of it. During the summer, they have kayaking events, where they will kayak along the Bronx River. If you yourself are interested in gardening, you can speak to Julio or Mario and get your very own box in the garden! Theres a yearly membership fee, but you get to visit the space and grow all the produce you want in your space.Drew Gardens is a fantastic garden that has given me the opportunity to grow my own vegetables and produce, something that Ive wanted for so long and I now have the privilege to do and learn about.
