My favorite bar in Buffalo.Nestled in Silo City, this is an otherworldly place. They have a wonderful selection of beer and cocktails, and the staff are some of the best people on the planet. Its really about the art, music, drinks, vibe, and kindness in the manner in which its delivered.
I love this place! There is so much work going on over there with the silos, its fun to see this place come alive. The outdoor area is so nice to go to and just relax. They usually have some live music going on, but nothing crazy loud that you cant hear your drinking partner and have a nice conversation. There is a door to Narnia which Im very curious about! Cant wait to go back and see what comes next!
My all time favorite place to go to. Great staff, excellent drinks, and the food is great. I love the outside bar with the field to kick a soccer ball around in, or pull up a chair and listen to amazing live music. The inside is really beautiful and the artifacts in there are neat to look at. Nestled in between the old silos and preserving the building and land makes me most proud when telling people about it.A MUST See, and by far my go to place.
Driving up, we were pretty excited about this place. Overall layout is pretty cool. Bar Keep hates his life, asked me to Stop asking questions. We were the only people there. I ordered a water, and then once my group finished their drinks-we left. I wouldnt go here if you want to be treated with any level of respect. Kindness isnt a difficult thing.
Last night a friend introduced me to this hidden gem, and it has immediately become my new favorite bar. Nestled in Silo City, the unassuming brick building looks like like it could be a small school or daycare or office space, judging from what you can see in the many windows outside, but that couldn’t be more wrong. When you step inside, it’s a little hipster haven of a bar- but in a good way, not in an obnoxious way. The original flooring and walls were there, giving it an authentic feel. There was a large bluegrass band playing when I went, and that only added to the perfect Sunday drinking vibe. The bar is at the back, there’s plenty of dancing and hanging around space in the main area, and there’s a few nooks with chairs ot snuggle into. The bar has a neat setup, and has this ‘u’ shape that sticks out from the middle, allowing for more seating, giving the bar more visual impact. Kevin the bartender, was as adorable as he was great, dressed to the nines in a vest, bowtie, and hat. The collection of bar books on display in the back left was a nice touch, including vintage cocktail books lined up alongside Bartending for Dummies. I loved that! They had a small but very well thought out list of snacks, and we had the meat and cheese plate. It had a nice variety of treats and went great with my wine. I wished I got there earlier so I could stay past closing, but that’s life. The bathrooms were also very clean and modern- with a neat bubbly hammered metal covering at the lower half of the windows, providing both privacy and style. Just being in a bar along all the old silo’s was SO Buffalo, and so charming- it is probably the coolest place I have been to in a long time, and I felt like I was in on this amazing secret. I can’t wait to go back!
Went here for a customer service employees appreciation night. Really chill hipsterish spot. Reminded me of the spots in NYC where I grew up. The people were chill, the fire was warm, the drinks were great, and the one guy looked like John Snow joined a neo jazz band. He probably plays the Tenor Saxophone.
Kevin the “bartender” was unwelcoming, arrogant, and unpleasant. No cocktail menu but said they could make us “whatever we wanted.” Asked for a couple classic cocktails but the didn’t have the ingredients. Settled on a mojito- served us sweetened rum with club soda. Likely won’t be back which is a shame because the location is great.
@NoahFalck has claimed the lands of #SiloCity, #Buffalo, for poetry and outsider art before the mortgage brokers show up writing condo loans. Today, he conjured up a fundraising event for Mike Young of the #BlueTurn, a troubadour tour through America. Young, just like #VachalLindsay, just reaches out to his community for food, shelter and support as he makes his way out and back from Sante Fe. To round out the event, Falck reached out to a local folk band called Heavy, plus Robin Lee Jordan to claim #Duende Cantina for literature. The bartender complimented the audience for making poetry work in a bar. Look for Falck to turn a row of silos into a performing arts center this summer. #RobinLeeJordan. Young takes his show next to #Ithaca. @ Duende at Silo City

2022-06-25Cool spot nestled within the towering silos (within Silo City). Inside of an old administration building, the two story structure has been renewed while keeping many of it historical elements. It is located just at the end of the road and seems a little sketchy driving to it, but dont worry it is just ongoing construction in the adjacent towers. All of the staff are friendly and unique. Ben hooked us up with cocktails. The menu is currently limited but tasty. The pulled pork was tasty. Craft cocktails are available along with a nice mix of IPAs and some wine selections too.Relax indoors or head outside to the cantina to relax on the patio, or in the grove area where there is often live music. We have been hear a couple times and were not disappointed. Get out and try them on. Its a unique experience you wont regret.Bonus:. There is a gallery located on the 2nd floor for art lovers.

2022-06-12Checked this out place with a Meetup group, the Young Black Professionals of WNY and really ended up enjoying the experience. It didn’t hurt that the weather was beautiful either and we were in the outside bar.I ordered the Pulled Pork bomber which came with chips and small portion of potato salad. It was definitely a tasty sandwich though I expected it to be more saucy.I also had a two different cocktails, the Watu Mai Tai and Long Island Ice Tea. Both were well-made and I felt them. There was both an indoor and an “outdoor bar which offerdd a limited selection since it doesn’t have tap lines. They also have outdoor space with tables as well as a small stage where there happened to be a musical quintet performing that day.

2022-06-10Wow,, this is a low key, great ambience with a plethora group of eccentric and regular people. Variety of canned beer and I saw there was a kitchen but did not try the food. It is a hidden gem. The picture of the door below reminded me of something from Narnia. Tucked away in the far corner of the outside bar.

2022-07-12Duende was incredible. Its such a unique atmosphere. The music by John Victor was the main event and it was beautiful. The bar staff went above and beyond to provide great services. One guy searched far and wide for about 20 minutes just to find me a bottle of water. Thats the great level of service Im talking about. Everyone is nice. The parking is a bit cramped. Parking is also on a dirt lot so wear appropriate shoes. But that fits the location. Its a great experience and I think everyone in Buffalo should experience the area of Silo City at least once.

2022-04-16Its a bit off the beaten path. With the Michigan Street bridge closed, its kind of a PITA. Its worth the trip however. The servers are fantastic, and everybody really seems interested in you enjoying yourself.

2020-07-13Very unique and off the beaten path. Everyone was friendly and chill. The owner even came over to talk a bit. Prices were fair for the beer and for the food! We got two meat and cheese platters to share as well as a rice and beans. Pretty good vegan selections. I cant wait for the summer to fully enjoy the area. I highly recommend Duende. COVID-19 update: A cool and relaxing place outside (The Cantina) with a band playing, cold drinks, and everyone being respectful wearing a mask making their way to their seat/area. Theyre becoming our Sunday afternoon go-to bar.

2022-07-10Nice place & friendly staff. Good place to see bands. They have a kitchen & even nonalcoholic mixed drinks! The only bar I know of! They have shows inside & when weather permits, shows, seating, & a bar outside. A little pricy for nonalcoholic stuff like unsweetened iced tea.
