I came here from out of town after getting a flat on the thruway. My phone and in person interactions with staff were pleasant. New tires were something I’ve been putting off and since I was there getting work, I decided to purchase four new tires. I went with a higher end all season because I live in Buffalo and do winter activities. They checked the wheel alignment (included) but wanted another $100 to align 3 wheels. In my opinion, this should be a service that is included in the price of new tires. Upon getting into my car, I noticed they didn’t put the donut back under the car. This is a simple thing to do that would show a customer they care about the service they provide. Plus, it’s way easier for them to do this while the car is already lifted than have the owner do this on their own. Hopefully this is the only shortcut they took, and all my lug nuts are tightened safety and securely (kinda joking kinda not). All that aside, I tipped my mechanic and don’t regret it. In two hours I was back on my way. Friendly reminder that ‘best’ customer service can always be better.
The staff was kind, courteous and the tires were a good deal. My only issue is I called on Thursday and was quoted a price $10/tire lower than I was actually charged because they had no idea what I was talking about when I called back the following morning to schedule. Also “out the door” typically includes tax so I was caught off guard when they told me it didn’t. Overall I would definitely go here again but some better communication may improve customer experiences here!
Decent crew. Relatively clean waiting area & restroom. (A/C was more than welcome that day & was working well!)1 hr for inspection & rotate tires... reasonable time, no doubt there.Tires purchased last visit are holding up well & worked decent over this past winter. (Tires recommended by Dunn)No nasties this time around!
They tore all 4 of my tires down the the cords. The owner reached out to me because of this review made excuses, the tires are cracked, they arent at all. The only place that is cracked is where the claws on the tire machine were dragged across the side wall clearly seen in the pictures. When that excuse didnt work they said it was from the tires being mounted which is not true because they would have leaked all winter. The tear is right where the tire seals against the rim. Went to the shop where the service was done and got told theres no proof that they did the damage and they wouldnt be responsible for that reason.
I had to take my vehicle into to be inspected because I transferred plates. My car had just been inspected but DMV requires a new inspection. I went in and there was really no backup of cars or overload of work in the bays.The gentleman that waited on me wasn’t very pleasant and didn’t know about the temporary registration versus the registration and inspection. I had to explain it to him. The DMV had attached the temporary registration to the plates but I hadn’t put the plates on yet.I requested the transferred plates be put on the vehicle and the old plates taken off the vehicle. He stated to me, “I guess we can do that.” And he printed document off, I signed it, and he took everything back into the bay. I went to sit down. About 5-10 minutes he comes back and states to me it will cost me another $20 to have the old plates taken off and the new transferred plates put on. I shrugged my shoulders and said what could I do? And he said nothing really unless you can change them yourself.I really felt $20 for changing plates was taking advantage of me and the situation. Also that he knew I was stuck Between a rock and a hard place about this. Instead of doing it for free and dealing with good customer service, they turned me off.My friend recommended them and speaks highly of them, but truthfully this left a bad impress in my mind and I will not use them and what should have cost me $21.00 for NYS Inspection cost me over $42.60. Ridiculous. It did not take them that much work to take the old plates off and put new plates on.I will tell everyone I know of this experience to let them know Dunn Tire will take advantage of women in need of help.
All was good, thanked the tech for the tire rotation, and went directly home.p, when i got out of my car, in my garage, i noticed a new 1 inch very visible scratch on my drivers side door. So it could of only come from within the Dunn Tire garage area, from the equipment, on the floor and around tire rotation area. Not very happy, and will return to speak with manager.
I asked for them to change a valve stem on a wheel I brought in, so they left the old one on the wheel filled it with air, chalked my last name on it like they did something then charged me 30$ To do this leaving me walking all weekend because my tire went flat within the time It took to get home and couldn’t borrow the car I had to bring the tire in there in the first place. The manger offered to put the valve stem in and refund my money when call yelling at them but it still doesn’t make up for them robbing me then leaving me stranded for the weekend. You think a place with tire in the name could follow simple instructions for a 15 min job of a valve stem. Go somewhere else!!!
I needed my car inspected and went to Dunn Tire in Auburn for the first time. On Monday evening I tried to make an appointment online for 5 pm on Tuesday. I received a call within not even an hour from when I made the appointment request saying that they didn’t have that time available but they could get me in first thing Wednesday . I scheduled my appointment over the phone with no issues. I arrived to the shop at 9:55 for my 10 am appointment and was out of there by 10:25. They were so nice and didn’t try to sell me anything that I didn’t need (as a young female I was worried about that). Quick fast and only $10 for the inspection! Will definitely go back there!
My boyfriend called one day to make an appointment to get new tires put on my car. They said “come on in, no appointment needed”. We were there within a half hour and they got the car right in and put new tires on. Shortly after, my car developed a shake when I was driving it. I thought it was a wheel bearing or something that wasn’t the tires, because they were brand new. So I took it to the dealer. The problem was the tires being unbalanced. My boyfriend called Dunn, because it was their mess up and the very expensive tires have a warranty. Dunn told him that it was impossible that they were off balance, then said that they couldn’t get the car in until 2 weeks later. How is it that when we were willing to give them the money, they could get us right in, and when they are called out on messing up, it’s a 2 week wait? Now we have to go pay to get them balanced again, by another shop, or wait 2 weeks while the car doesn’t feel safe to drive at all. Very unimpressed. I always spoke highly of this place, but they will never see another dime from us.
I went in for an inspection. I was seen immediately and helped by Jesse. Jesse has exceptional customer service, handling each customer in person and answering all of the questions without losing his cool or rushing anyone (the office was extremely busy and the phones were ringing off of the hook). I come back every year for an inspection and will continue to come back!
I never thought I would be happy to buy new tires for my old truck. They did it fast as I social distance outside. They installed the proper length Valve stems and I love the aggressiveness of the tread.I didnt know they do oil changes and other stuff. I definitely will be back, price point was spot on for me also.
Not to pleased at the moment. 4 new tires yesterday and today the front left tire is completely flat. I cant go back to Dunns until Monday, if I can find someone to fix the flat to get me there. I am now without my vehicle for the weekend. Needed to go to a Wake today but that is not happening.
I had to call and tell them that I was not going to be able to get to my appointment on time and they were kind enough to let me come an hour later. They took my car in shortly after I arrived. They came and discussed with me as too what they found and what they proposed to do to fix it. Fortunately it was not a serious problem and I was able to leave not long after.
The crew at Auburn’s Dunn Tire squeezed me in at the end of a very busy day to address my emergency with a rapidly leaking wheel. They explained all their slots were full for the day but would fit me in. Once my vehicle was in they addressed the issue (corroded wheel) quickly and got me on my way. Very pleased.
Very professional and concerned with the best solution for the customer. They could have sold me a new tire and I would have never known the difference. Instead they plugged it and saved me a significant amount of money. I would recommend them to anyone. they have to be better cause they only sell tires.
They were honest with me!! I didnt know they did more then tires. I will always call them if theres a problem with my jeep. And the price for all they did was excellent. It was half the price I expected as most mechanics have ripped me off. They have gained another over all costumer. Thank you Dunn Tire.
Would not recommend. Tried to take my car here twice, and both times they fabricated things that needed to be done. Took my car elsewhere yesterday and saved $120 because Dunn told me “nail is too big to patch this tire”. I took my tire elsewhere and they patched it just fine.
Great place that’s always enthusiastic, friendly, and helpful. They are great to buy from as well. Free flat repair and rotations for the life of your tires as well which is awesome. I’ve had 3 tires wrecked by road debris and they’ve honored the tire warranty each time without hassle or question - replacing my tires with a brand new tire - same make and model as what I bought too! I’ll definitely be a repeat customer as long as they’re in business.
Needed new tires and an inspection and was able to do both on a Sunday, which was great because I didnt have to miss any time off work! The service at Dunn Tire was quick and professional and the person/manager who took care of me was very hospitable! No other tire stores I checked could beat their prices or their guarantees of services!
Set appointment in advance explained what I needed done. Take tires off my stock wheels and put them on my aftermarket wheels. I show up, they pull car in the bay. Then they come out and say they wont do it. They are too scared theyll scratch a rim. And since I didnt buy from them, they didnt want to be responsible. This is awesome...a tire shop who wont change your tires. Been a customer of theirs over 20 years. Never again, Mavis did a great job ! Bye Dunn Tire.
Very impressed with Dunn Tire in Auburn. The manager understood I live out of town and agreed to rotate the tires for me 5 minutes before close. It took 10 minutes and all work was done well. Lugs torqued, sensors reset, and they were careful with my rims. Well run business and very efficient. Thanks guys
Only giving one star because it won’t let me comment without any. The manager of this store is downright AWFUL! He is rude, he likes to make backhanded and disrespectful comments in front of my children. They refused service on my vehicle after passing an inspection with bad brakes and bad tires and wouldn’t admit to it. I took my vehicle to the Dunn tire in Camillus since I have a warranty on my tires and alignment, but otherwise we will not be going to Dunn Tire again. The manager of the Auburn store has a serious lack customer service and also lacks the ability to be a proper human being, especially in a professional setting. I had to call another store to get the corporate number, since they refused to give it to me in this store. And then I reported his behavior to corporate, however I don’t think they care either!
The guys at the Auburn Dunn Tire are the best Ive ever dealt with. I work third shift and even though they changed hours and eating there breakfast they tightened my bolts o. My tires. These guys are amazing!!!!!!. I recommend them to my friends and family!!! Thank you guys at Auburn Dunn Tire!!!!
Tires and services great. The alignment charge was a bit of a surprise. Im not ignorant but the 550 tires went to most 700 because the included test cost 79 + tax if adjusted. The fronts where less than .01 out but they did adjust and charged. Yes I agreed but the charge was never talked about until billing, then its too late. Being up front on cost would have not changed my decision on the safety of my car but would have not been a surprise at check out.
Got an oil change, when I left my car smelled bad of garage/oil. I figured they didnt put plastic down and got it on my seat. Had to go to Walmart to get a air freshener to cover the smell. Drove 30 minutes home and it still smelled. Opened the hood to discover they never put my oil cap back on and oil had sprayed all over my engine compartment, which explained the smell. Called and they said bring it back and they will clean/redo the oil change after 10 minutes of waiting for them to call me back. When I went back and they had finished, he offered me a free oil change for the future, didnt even offer to refund there mistake until I asked. All in all my day was shot because of there mistake. Always check your oil cap because you cant trust anyone nowadays. After they fixed it, two days later the oil plug came out and my oil spilled everywhere.
I have used Dunn Tire often for both my vehicles. For tires and many other services. They have seen a considerable amount of my business. I had a soft tire and got air in it Saturday. By Saturday night it was no longer soft but flat. I am caring for an elderly friend full time which makes it hard to commit to a time for service so I had a friend remove the tire rather than using their road side service. The tire was firmly attached and had to be pounded off loosening one lug bolt/stud. All of the lug nuts were extremely difficult to put back on because the lug bolts/studs were misshapen due to being torced down repeatedly with the torc wrench. All in all after 2 hours the donut ended up on securely with only 3 lug nuts attached. And this was with someone very knowledgeable assisting me!!! I took the tire to Dunn to be fixed - easy. I returned to have it put back on the car. I was charged for the damaged lug nuts and bolts/studs (ok I question if they were damaged by me or Dunns torc wrench) and approximately $45 for half an hour labor to put the tire on which they would have had to do anyway. ( And they didnt have to pay for the roadside assistance call.) I was so mad I said nothing-as my mom taught me, if you cant say something nice dont say anything at all.
Found one of our RV tyres had gone flat as we filled fuel. Luckily Dunn Tires were just behind the Service station.The staff went out of their way to get us back on the road. Jessie went above and beyond using a manual Jack as our RV was too tall for the workshop. The most helpful staff I have come across. Highly recommend.
I have lived in Auburn almost my entire life and have never been to Dunn and needed a quick oil change on a rare day off. Dunn was one of few to be able to fit me in and the gentleman I spoke with on the phone and dealt with at the counter was great. I agreed to an oil change and switching out my air filters. After a quick wait, I had my car back. After getting in the car and turning on the heat there was an extremely loud whirring and clunk from the engine. So I brought it to their attention and they pulled it back into the bay and cleared out the leaves causing the whirring. Although the whirring was subdued it came back the next day and my engine sounded much louder and after speaking to another mechanic he suggest I get my oil changed again because all of the symptoms pointed to possibly the wrong oil being used. Not the best experience. The people were great, and the waiting experience was perfectly fine but based on the results and having to get another oil change 2 days after just getting one done leaves a lot to be desired.
I just had my tire repaired. I was charged 36.00 to repair a nail hole. They didn’t take the wheel off of my truck and I was told that they were too busy to take the spare off and put the repaired tire on. It would’ve taken less than 10 minutes for somebody to come out and do it. Also, I’m pretty sure the going rate for repairing a nail hole is significantly less. Especially since I brought the tire in.
Had Dunn Tire order new Rims and Tires for my base model 06 Tacoma. After taking the day off work to leave my truck there, they called me 3 hours later to tell me that the rims they bought wouldn’t fit the truck. They then asked me if I wanted to put the new tires on the old junk rims...even though they leaked...went in to pick it back up and they said “As you can see, we are really busy right now and I don’t have time to figure out what rims you should have...I’ll have to call my rim expert and then call you.” Sad experience... not enough staff to handle the customers coming through. Ordered my rims and tires with TPMS installed (High quality aluminum allow rims at much less cost) and delivered to my door in less time than it was going to take to book a new appointment. I was at least making an effort to stay local and not go big box online...sigh
So have been buying my tires here for many years and today I go in today and ask if I could get an appointment for tomorrow for a tire rotation which is part of the sales agreement. The clerk just says no, this is snow tires season, (whatever that means), the he says, how about November ! Well every year I go get my tires rotated at the same time before I leave town and have always been accommodated within a day or 2, 3 tops, but this disregard for a loyal customer tells me to go buy my tires elsewhere in the future ! The faces and attitudes have changed here at DunNO Tire and so has the level of quality service, for the worse. ~ Mind you they only had 2 cars in the bays today. Time for a real change and rotation away from Dunno Tired. 4 ever !
I called to see what the best tires would be for our GMC 2500 HD. I explained how the truck was used and was given 2 recommendations by Mark the Assistant Manager. I looked into the ratings on the tires, called Mark back and in less than 2 hours we were driving away with our awesome new tires!!! Nothing could have made this purchase more perfect!! We have 5 vehicles, so we will definitely be back!!!!
I can always trust Dunn Tire. I had a tire that had to be replaced ASAP. They had the right in stock, they had in on my car within a couple of hours with no appointment since it was unexpected, and the price was good as well. This isnt my first time doing business here, and it wont be much last.
Its weird making a post for place I have not been to yet! But I give it 5 Stars anyway because... I pulled into speedway and it seems like my tires werent right and I was going to fill them with their air machine. I was standing there looking at my tires thinking that they still werent right when one of the guys from Dunn Tire hopped the little fence right there and asked if I needed any help. I drove my car around and he checked the air in all four tires and put the right amount of air in each tire. Awesome service guys!!!
I scheduled an appointment to have 4 new tires and an alignment. Tires were put on fine. But I recieved a call was told they could not do the alignment because my right front bearing was falling apart and dangerous and my left front bearing was filling with ABS fluid. When I came to pick up my car with my husband the story changed to well your front end might just be loose and if you tighten it up we can align it Now tell me why I have to tighten my front end FOR the mechanic?? Anyway I took it for a second opinion. There was no mention of a bearing full of ABS fluid. And the right bearing was simply loose. Mechanic tightened it down aligned the tires and its perfect. I am not happy with the way I was treated by the technician. I will not be returning after this experience. And i was a big advocate for dunn before!
Made an appointment for a tire change, specifically to get my two snow tires put on, got there, and they told me they only did 4 tire tire changes per New York State Law, which is not true. They knew ahead of time that I was coming in with only two tires. They then proceeded to try to sell me two more snow tires that I didnt need and were inspecting them in a dramatic way to make me think that the tires I had were in bad shape, which they are not. Told this to a coworker the same day it happened and she said they tried to do the same thing to her a few years ago. Obviously this is a trend. They try to scam who they suspect to be unknowing women in an effort to get more business. I will gladly take my business to my honest and reliable mechanic and never consider going elsewhere again. Skeezy, dishonest, and pathetic excuses of reliable employees and a business.
Horrible! I had an appt for my winter tires to be put on and an oil change.The vehicle had the tires done an hour and 10 mins after going in the shop. I watched them load them in my car. After another 20 mins the front end manager checked on the car and came back saying it had “just finished the tires” and would be going to do the oil change. I told him that I saw the tires done long before but to please let me know when it was done. After another 25 mins, now over 2 hours in your shop, they came out to say I would have to reschedule the oil change. When I said that I was told it was being done close to 1/2 hour earlier, I was informed the service manager decided to bump me for another vehicle but didn’t tell the front end manager.Over 2 hours, lied to my face at least twice, no discount on the service and tell me I have to reschedule! I really like working with the folks there. They tell it like it is, even if it isnt the best news - no spin, no sugar coating. I wish they had more techs during snow tire season, because getting appointments is a challenge in the fall/spring. Any other time, they are very accommodating.
Had a inspection scheduled for 5pm, was there by 450pm. vehicle was not finished till 630pm. as the mechanic was going out to get my truck at 610pm, thru the lobby, he was cursing out loud, to the reply of the assistant manager to reply, he shouldnt be doing that, he must be having a bad day. they only went to get my vehicle after people that were there after me, their vehicle was finished and paid, before i asked how much longer it would take. basically they forgot about me...no apologizes and no compensation for their fault ....seems like a decent business, but this was my 1st customer of their services, but 1st impression wasnt a good one .
Bought tires from here and the tires needed to be replaced with 20,000 miles left on warranty. I was told I would need all records of rotations and alignments. I was also told the tires I bought were not that good. Do you think they told me that when I bought them? Wasnt looking for free tires, just to make things right, instead of feeling like I did not take car of my car properly, causing my tires to prematurely deteriate. Bad business.
Finally found a nice and honest car guy in Craig Kopp! I brought in my vehicle with a laundry list of concerns and he was able to tell me which ones were no big deal, which ones were minor fixes, and it turned out nothing major needed to be done. Most places probably would have wrote me up for some expensive stuff that I did not actually need. Thanks Craig!
So here is my wonderful experience with Dunn Tire. First I order my tires and have an appointment. For tires and pressure sensor. Which they order the wrong size tire. Do they tell me that? Yes after they had the truck for an hr. So I have to make another appointment to get the tires. The gentleman at the counter says he is going to give me the tires for the same price. Next day bring the truck down they change the tires. Not the tires I asked for nor did they replace the sensor. I ask what the problem is. He say the same man as yesterday. ...I dont know what to tell you. Its Harry at the call center. He cant help that the tires are whats in the computer that I ordered. I specifically told Harry I wanted yokah.. Tires. I got SMT. I did tell them they should welcome to Dunn where you can just get what they decide to do....
I called the number given for Dunn Tire around 9am. I was told they sell Firestone destination le^2. I said I need two of them for the front. Dunn tire informed me that my two other tires would have to be the same (which they are) and that they would have to be fairly new (and they are). I was told over the phone that the tires would be at their shop around noon to 1 pm.I set up an appointment for 2pm. I arrive at 2pm and wait for someone to wait on me as they were busy with other customers.Finally a Dunn representative meets with me. He wants to look at my truck with me for some reason. So I go with him. He asks me twice if my truck is 4wd...to which I answer yes. He says my truck needs an alignment. I say no. He points out the wear on my tires. He has no clue the milage on my truck nor does he know my driving habits....I take turns harder than the average driver.I dont appreciate trying to be up sold.....ie more money taken out of my pocket.I got over 78,000 miles on the front tires so I dont need a lecture.In my truck goes into a bay. They dont have the tires that were promised.I tell them to back my truck out. One of the techs had to tell the guy backing my truck out to stop as he folds the drivers side mirror in so he doesnt take it off.I will never go back here again. A total waste of my time and gas money. To think I was about to give them nearly $400?!?!They need to learn a lot.1. Communication2. A customers property should be locked3. Gather info first before you tell a customer what he/she needs
We went in. & told them what we wanted for a 4X4. We have a switch so that we can use 2 wheel drive. They refused to sell us 2 tires saying it will cause transmission damage. We checked that out by 3 other places. They said that Dun just wants more money. Well now I am done with Dune Tires. I dont like liers just to make a buck
I went here for an inspection on my 1991 suburban and was told I would fail for window tint and cracked windows in the back, I thought this was wrong so I went to another shop and they confirmed it was absolutely wrong. I went back and showed them the NYS inspection page online and showed him the section on glass where it states only passenger cars sedans, station wagons, convertibles and the like where in that class not my truck. This gentleman brushed me off and just said very good then and explained why he was right. Get your facts right Dunn Tire
Its nice to go into a business completely knowing nothing about cars and tires and all the other stuff, but I felt at ease speaking with the gentleman, I felt as though I could ask him questions and we wouldnt get annoyed. I will continue to being my Baby (my Trax) there.
The sales clerk had an attitude problem. I tried to explain my problem and he told me there was no way that it was happening. I told him I drive my car everyday, and he said, Ok, sweetheart. Well let the boys take a look at it. That reads fine, but he was so demeaning in his tone and treated me as though the fact that I am a woman meant I knew nothing about my car. It turns out I was right about my car and he ate crow.

2022-01-19I got a little nervous when my tire pressure dropped to 21 psi. I called Dunn Tire Service. They got me in the same day and put on my donut. The next day they got a tire from Syracuse and put it on right away. Such great people. Great service. Im so thankful for businesses that care. What a relief to have the situation taken care of so quickly. Thank you again Dunn for a Great Job!

2022-04-06I have been using Dunn Tire in Auburn for most of 20 years. I cannot stress how seriously HONEST and RELIABLE they are. I never feel taken advantage of or overcharged, they never pressure you to spend more money or find 100 things to fix. On top of that, they usually get you in within 48 hours, and your car is tended to promptly. I highly recommend them and plan on being a customer another 20 years!
