Nice little walk through the woods. The trees eventually clear out to a marsh with a platform thats good for birdwatching but also for pictures. Very nice experience!

When you arrive here, there are no signs indicating you are at the right place. I had google maps on guiding me there and I found it easy enough, but no sign that I saw saying Durland Nature Preserve. There is a small parking lot that can fit maybe 6 cars. You will see a large field...follow where it looks like it was mowed, thats the trail. You will want waterproof shoes as one area of the field is very wet and soggy. The preserve is a loop, so follow the mowed path to either of the footpaths that head into the woods. The trail has no trail markers, but it is easy enough to navigate as you can see the path that cuts through the woods. There is a nice raised viewing platform overlooking a stream and wetlands that you can enjoy watching birds from. Overall, its a nice, quiet place to visit and enjoy a nice, short stroll through the woods
