I had a research presentation at this location. Very beautiful location. Was easy to get street parking though I do believe they have a parking lot but it is a bit of a walk. The food was excellent. I was not eating meat so I can only speak to the vegetarian dishes but heard that the meat and fish was also good
A good place to play around and practice. Gets busy with regulars at times. The biggest issue is just how much garbage accumulates around the outside gate and by there main entrance on Ft Hamilton Ave will just have food wraps and boxes for golf balls piled up by players before they enter. Some well places garbage cans might solve this issue
This was easily the worst golf experience I’ve ever heard. I cancelled before my tee time, which I’ve never done. The course was already backed up over an hour prior to noon. The starter and cashier were incredibly rude. Don’t bother. This was bad even for a Nyc muni course. I wish I could get these hours back.
This is a challenging course. The rough is long and thick and it’s everywhere including around the greens. There are big old trees everywhere so if you are not straight off the tee there is little forgiveness. The par 3’s are tricky elevated greens and a bit long. The greens are surprisingly in good shape if people continue to fix their divots. Fairways are fine. The course is rough around the edges which is expected at a city course. The sand traps are awful totally ignored but other than that this a great course to play and it’s not over priced.
4.5 hour round and course conditions were pretty rough. I play exclusively nyc muni golf so my expectations arent sky high. This is pretty typical conditions/pace of play but Id say dykers bunkers are in particularly bad shape. Fairways were solid and most of the greens were okay outside of some patches. All in all, still a great day out playing golf and the course definitely has some good/scenic holes!
Visited the Dyker beach golf course for a family members wedding. The property is actually very nice and the hall was very nicely decorated. It was awesome because we were able to walk around the grounds and enjoy the beautiful night. This place would be great for anniversaries, birthdays, weddings and the like. I was very impressed with how the staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect.
Great to come with a good friend and just spend the day playing golf, the surrounding nature makes it feel that you are away from the city making it feel like an amazing adventure. The park next to it is also great for kids and small little picnics. Parking is also available at this park so no need to worry.
Been to many events here over the years. Most recent one was a good friends wedding reception and it was absolutely stunning! Ive always loved this venue but it really came together for this event in particular! Staff was great and really friendly! I wouldnt mind having my wedding reception there.
I used to work here a while ago and its always been a pretty great place. Its even more beautiful now. I doubt the same people work here but most of them were cool. I played here as well and enjoyed the course quite a bit. Its beautiful inside as well as outside. Most of the other people who came to play were decent too but there were definitely some weirdos.
Great place for events. When there for my wife job. Always good when there is a open bar. Cocktail hour was healthy eating, Someone though that was a good idea NO it wasnt. But main course was my choice and it was awesome. If you invited me for cocktail hour stay away from the healthy choices. Lol
There are certainly better golf courses, but I still like the layout of Dyker. Unfortunately, the management of this course is a disgrace. They do a brisk business because of the location, but the tee boxes are mainly dirt, the greens are poorly maintained, the grounds are shabby and the people who work there are largely indifferent to the clientele. They managed to do even worse this year by having left the course to rot during and after closures associated with Covid ... most notably, the sand traps have been largely overgrown with weeds.
The course is in terrible condition. There are weeds and tall grass growing in all the bunkers, the tee boxes are in terrible shape and some are just fully sand. Greens are not maintained, spotty grass, bumpy and slow. Also people just leave their trash everywhere, its really gross. It seems like the maintenance has been completely abandoned and yet they are still letting people play. Pace of play is extremely slow.
I understand a lot of the negative reviews about the conditions of the overall course. However, my bad review is about the absolute unprofessional, negative, nasty remarks made by the older gentleman who assigns golf carts. He also does not use a face mask and gets extremely close when speaking to you. He drives around the course smoking a cigar, puffing it close by. As a female golfer, I personally feel very unsafe around him. I always try to limit my distance and my words with him as his energy is extremely off putting. I do enjoy playing here, but the workers here make the game so uncomfortable.
Wow really enjoyed playing here over the weekend. Was my second time here and the staff were friendly and facilities were in great shape. The greens were decent and pace of play was quick (for a public course). Highly recommend playing here over other NYC courses - a hidden gem.
This is a beautiful designed course but it needs more attention to items that are typically taken for granted on other courses. Among the worst problems is the lack of any place to practice prior to playing, except for a putting green that often doesnt correspond to the greens on the course. There are no benches to sit on while waiting to tee off, which is a problem since the course seems to overbook and waits can be long. There are no restrooms so players often use the bushes. On the positive side, clubhouse staff are very nice and helpful.
This place is great. I did my daughter’s engagement there and the service exceeded my expectations. Thanks to Liala, their event planner, the party was fantastic. Our family and friends had a blast. The service and the food were amazing. Liala made sure that this party is going to be memorable. I highly recommend this place and I recommend asking for Liala.
I have been trying to cancel a tee time here for several days now. I’ve tried reaching the pro shop, GM, assistant GM, events department, and email and have not received a response or call back. I don’t recommend booking here if you were planning on receiving any sort of assistance at all.
The guy in the club house is power hungry I seen him tell people who walk in 15 minutes to their tee time that he should not let them play they need to be there 30 minutes before ! Then today I get there 35 minutes before and he wasnt even in yet ? When the club house opened I went in and he said to go back out and wait for him to call my group ... that is not the worse of it we were playing a good round an hour and a half or so for the front 9 Sweet ... whats with the to of people on the back 9 ? 3 hours for the back 9 why am I waiting to hit at every tee box ? Why are there so many people on the back 9 when I have the 2nd tee time ? Nice course but the management need some help ....
Overall, a fun and enjoyable experience for me and my son. Course is in good condition. The greens are a bit slow on a few holes, but other than that decently fast. Me and my son decided to come here after our home club had a tournament. Main problem was the pace of play. Of course, being a public course you are going to have a mixed skill level, but for us the players in front of us would take almost 10 minutes on the tee, and slow down our four sum. The round took 5 hours and 30 minutes- the longest round of golf I have ever played, but I shot a 80, +8. Overall 4/5.
Playing here for 20 years. This is the worst the course has ever been. The term dog track is understated. There is no management and American golf should be ashamed of themselves for attaching their name to this course. the greens are torn apart not from golfers but from the incompetent employees maintaining the course. Please try out the course and sharre your thoughts.
Very horrible. We got their to throw an event, the table cloth was filthy. The plates still had food on it and wasnt properly washed, the staff was rude and it was impossible to get served. The place wasnt vacuumed from the previous event that took place. The bathroom was disgusting and we had to force someone to clean it. But on the bright side the food is delicious and tastes good. I dont recommend this place
Cant say anything about their golf course as I dont play golf. But they also have a venue there when they do events. We had our wedding there and it was nothing short of amazing. Great service, great food and great setting all came together to produce the best night of our lifes. Would highly recommend.
Good value for a decent course but it is often times very packed with a pace of play pushing 5.5+ hours. There are marshalls out there that are supposedly enforcing pace of play but they dont seem to be doing an effective job. We had a tee-time at 1:40 and when we approached the 1st hole around 1:30 there were 5 foursomes in-front of us that still needed to tee off. We ended up just jumping onto the 6th or 7th hole where there was a gap in groups. And even just ~13 holes still took almost 4 hours. They really need to encourage ready golf especially when its mainly rather average golfers out there.
We had a gorgeous wedding here at the Dyker Beach Golf Club in November. The food was impeccable, the staff especially Carlo Lenzi was helpful beyond words, the rooms and building are beyond stunning. We just got our wedding photos back and love the beauty of the hall. If you plan a wedding in the Manhattan/Brooklyn area I would highly recommend this venue.
Pace of play could have been better (played a 5.5 hour round), but overall, I thought the course was in pretty decent shape, especially given how much play it gets every week. There was only 1 green that was almost totally gone, but otherwise, everything was as youd expect from a muni course. It was also on the pricey side, at $71 with a cart. $60 would have been about right. Now, I understand that theres not enough real estate for a driving range, but they could at least put a chipping area in somewhere (or maybe even a hitting net, like they have over at Weequahic in Newark, NJ). And someone needs to cut the grass on the practice putting greens! It was like carpet and not even close to the speed of the actual greens.
My wife and I got married at Dyker Beach on May 24th 2014 and to this day were still getting compliments on how exceptional the service was. Everything was perfect, they were very attentive, the food was excellent, the staff was polite and sincere, and the scenery was breathtaking. Our contact person was Carlo and he was very attentive from our initial consultation to the day of the wedding. Our overall experience was excellent and we would recommend Dyker Beach to everyone.
The course if lovely. HOWEVER - The booking staff are rude and very slow. I was delayed getting on the tee by up to 45 minutes on both occasions I played there. I have also heard from others that they have been delayed too because the course management insists on over overbooking the course. There are plenty of other local courses so I recommend skipping this one.
The golf course has really degraded over the years. Tee boxes are a mess, greens are full of sand and pocked with mud and dirt. Check out the par 3 on the second hole since it foretells whats to come for the rest of the day. Also, because this is one of the more accessible golf courses in NYC it gets packed! Ive given up trying to squeeze in a round under 6 hours on the weekend. There are no course rangers enforcing any kind of pace of play and they often perform maintenance work during peak hours on the weekend. A few years ago this was a gem of a course in the NYC area, now its just a lump of coal.If you can, La Tourette in Staten Island is a much better course with much better pace of play. I was able to drive out there complete a round (~4 hours) and drive back home then it would have took me to play Dyker!
Terrible experience booking and showing up to play at this place. Called the golf pro shop to book late afternoon tee off time and he said the course was wide open and no threat of the course being backed up. I get there and the first hole has an hour wait. I go back to the pro shop continue to watch him take phone calls telling people he hasn’t booked a tee time all afternoon when he just did with two additional people just while I was standing in line to get a refund and go to another course. Zero concept of delegating course traffic and a huge waste of everyone’s time. Will never attempt to play or waste my time at this course again.
Good public course, but as a public course, youll most likely have trouble with getting a quick round in. Expect 2.5 hours at a minimum per 9 holes. Also, play with easily identified balls, or someone from a neighboring hole WILL play your ball as theirs at some point in the round.
Recently had our wedding there. Everything was great except the fact that after youre locked into your party, youre forwarded on to an event planner. The event planner sounds like a great idea if she actually helped rather than made our lives difficult and our process complex. Last minute, she told us we couldnt have the menu we agreed on, tried to push a more expensive menu on us by telling us it had more options. In the interim, her email correspondence was a disaster. Couldnt attach floorplan via email. This is 2017, come on! She texted us a picture of it (sloppy and in legible). Couldnt email us anything we asked for. Waited days for a reply from her. Doesnt return her voicemails. Never at her desk. Was turned back to the sales office to deal w someone else. How confusing.Everything turned out okay in the end but administrators should get a better system here. Dont bother trying to complain to a manager because there isnt one on-site or at least thats what I was told. Our maitred, food and staff on the day of was amazing.
Warning: If you cancel the players club they take 2 months to cancel it, which is fair but for me after the two months they kept charging the fee; and when I looked online to see if it was canceled it was. Also the course is in terrible condition right now, with it either being like a desert or like a swamp depending on where you are standing.
Experience at Dyker can vary depending on the starter and what time you tee off. I have played this course north of 10 times ranging my completion times between 3:30 - 5:30 hours on the course. Dyker does its best given that it is very played throughout the week & weekend. It is a short, but somewhat difficult course with open fairways. All in all I would recommend playing this course as early as you can in the day, as Dyker get more crowded, the playing time increases dramatically.
Beauty is the only thing I can say about this place. Not ordinary people have a kids Birthday at a venue this big so spending a great deal of money on just the view and room was disappointing. The food was ok but served cold. It was almost impossible to get a waiter to a table for drinks. The service was bad and did not expect for the matred to be as poor. He tried to accommodate us at the end and poorly conducted himself. When he knew he messed up with multiple things that occurred he hid in the kitchen and had another matred talk to us. I tried to contact multiple planners of our experience via email and telephone and no one was considerate enough to respond. Watch out for Vicky because she will try to sell her defensive driving certificates when booking but unable to help you with anything. I should have asked around before booking. Bad reviews on food.
I was surprised to get an 11 AM tee time and more surprised to go out at 11. It was great playing near home except for the litter. There were so many pieces of white paper it made finding a ball very difficult. Instead of riding around with a leaf blower they should have had him picking up the garbage befroe its shredded by the lawn mowers.
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Dyker Beach Golf Course. The staff is incredible, the venue is breathtaking and the food is unbeatable. We enjoyed every step of planning our wedding and preparing for the big day in the bridal suite thanks to the dream team of Debbi,. Vicky and our very helpful and charming bridal attendant Iman! Almost one year later and everyone who attended our wedding proclaims it BWE! Best Wedding Ever!
This review s for Golf Only - the only thing stopping me from rating the service as Poor-Fair is the fact that I play here often, and havent quite experienced anything as I am about to post.I had a 918a a couple of Sats ago - a 3 some booked. My group arrived early / on time, checked in, paid, loaded up our carts, and got online at the tee box. We were actually pleasantly surprised we were going to go off relatively on time - prob around 930ish. The course seemed pretty open on this day. Then all of a sudden, we were asked to hold as were were preparing to get on the tee box, and that a foursome was going out in front of us - a 3 some. And this foursome comprised of a couple - who apparently had the 910 tee time, but just arrived at the course, and the 932a twosome. The only reason why we knew this was because we were the only people in the pro shop at the time of check in, we heard a older women who works the par 3 challenges, mention to the front desk that she heard (she used names) was running late and on the way, and apparently had the 910a time. This message was relayed at 920a when we got checked in. And as we were walking out, we saw the other twosome that checked in for their 932a.I know when Ive been late for a time in the past, Ive never been placed at the tee box where I was supposed to be, but in the back of the line where the started/pro shop can get me in.But apparently since this couple knew people at the course, they got to skip in front and tee off in front of us. Forget they were late, and forget they know people, the fact a FOURSOME got placed in front of a THREESOME on the tee is ridiculous. We ended up teeing off at 945a (cause we had to ait for them to finish gearing up since they were late) and we finished close to 330p. Almost 6 hrs for no reason. And to top it off, these folks were playing slow all day - and ever giving us an opportunity to play through. And where are the rangers to help people along that are holding the course up??I come to expect a few things when playing Dyker on the weekends - long front 9s, backed up 1st tees, but never having a late foursome thrown in front of a threesome. Thats just not right.
I had an event at Dyker Beach which was overall a good experience. I was dealing with Carlo who was absolutely amazing and accommodating- my advice, try to stick with him for EVERYTHING. I got stuck working one on one with their self-assertive, ambitious- event planners VICKY K. She is horrendous- disorganized, informal and overbearing. Stay far away from her and her personalities.
Dyker Beach Golf Club is a hidden jewel of Brooklyn. Anne and I had our beautiful wedding here. We were catered to from start to finish. Our every single need was met by Carlo Lenzi and his friendly staff. From enjoying all their awesome rooms (with huge classic windows) nestled inside a beautiful Golf course to perfectly cooked Filet Mignon( by the chef Eddie who also was a pro). My cousin said it melted in his mouth. Our guests had plenty of waiters catering wine and hors doeuvres during our cocktail hour, now months later I am still getting compliments on our wedding/service from some of our 100 guests. I also remember that the valet was available with plenty of parking. I have lived in Brooklyn all my life and there is not one hall here that matches this exquisite rich setting, the ballroom and great rooms elegance(freshness, paintings, decor) and great food. With their professional and very kind staff you will have the best time of your life!
Dyker Beach is one of the most special courses in America. Tiger used to play here as a kid. Half the people in the neighborhood have some sort of a connection to the course. Its historic and yet always keeping up with the times. They offer wonderful event space for catered weddings, business meetings and any sort of golf outing you can imagine. The staff is friendly and carries on like a family. Speak with Carlo in sales for events or Lynden and Kevin at the proshop for outings... best part is how close it is to the city. Plays best in the late summer and fall when the greens are rolling well. For private lessons, ask for Sam at the proshop.
A great park for all kinds of ball players but a group of kite flying regulars ruins it all for everyone. Not only they left piles of garbage in the middle of fields (food containers, drink bottles, etc.), worst of all, they left loose kite lines all over the park! On the ground, over the fence, or hanging from the trees. These are thick strong nylon lines that cut like razor when pulled tense. I saw once people trying to rescue a poor goose with wings tangled in the lines hanging from the fence. The most horrible thing I heard is yesterday a young man got 7 stitches on his fingers trying to save his small dog whose feet got trapped in a loose kite line that was picked up in the wheels of a car that is driving off with it! Shame on those people! Stop those kite flyers in our parks!

2022-05-01Golf course is quite nice, even if the bunkers are absolutely all in extremely bad shape, the fairways and greens are in good condition and the course is pleasant to play. That being said the experience was ruined by an absolutely awful service at the front desk. Starting from the Pro-shop manager who literally yells at customer, is terribly rude and has the nerve to rent clubs that have not seen a brush or water from years, for 35$… see below the pictures. Starter and bar staff are actually very nice and can’t stand the bad behavior of management so that they are leaving…

2022-05-22A very nice venue. Very clean. The wait staff is very professional. The food is prepared well. Careful with the valet service. VIP gets you parked on the grounds. Regular valet gets you parked in the local neighborhood. You can do that yourself. The self parking lot fills up quick. 4.5 due to the valet. I understand theyre trying to make a few dollars but the way its presented is as if theyre doing you a favor.

2021-04-11Great course with a bit of work recently done. Really comes out in the summer, but you play through winter too. Lots of par fours and fives with probably only four par threes. Really good covid management too. Bookings all online and you check in outside. Only need to go inside for refreshments and restrooms.

2022-06-04It’s not a 5 star course. But it’s 5 stars because it’s the best value you can get. Everything is in great shape except the bunkers. Plus you cannot beat the reasonable greens fees.

2021-09-25Pretty nice place to have events. When I went to my school event the food was delicious and it’s big enough to hold several people.

2018-05-30Nice golf course accessible from Manhattan. Practice putting green out front. By 9:30am on Saturday, they were already a half hour behind on tee times, and the round took a solid 5 hours, so expect to spend a long time. Staff was a bit surly, but otherwise fine.

2018-05-01I attended a health education seminar there today given by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Very beautiful venue for all types of events, the wait staffs were very attentive, the food was great, cheesecake was excellent! !!!This a wheelchair accessible site, parking is a five minute walking distance but, they have valet service so, you can wait for your car if you like. The decor is beautiful, golf course is pretty big and plenty of carts waiting around for transport. If I had an event to plan, I would use this facility. 😊😊

2022-01-04The course is in disrepair and getting worse every week. Bunkers and tee boxes have not been touched in two years and the grass in the fairways is often overrun with weeds and patchy. Additionally, Tee times are not sufficiently spaced so it backs up 1-2 hours every weekend.Used to be good value, especially for a twilight round. I wouldn’t pay full price to play here. I pretty much only play this course midweek twilight when I just want to hit some balls and traffic is prohibitive to get to marine park. There are a few interesting holes, though I think it would play better as a par 70 with number 4 as the number one handicap hole.

2021-05-21Fun round. It’s golf, pace was slower but to be expected in the city, greens were slower but perfectly enjoyable considering the amount of play it gets.
